Cupcake or Turnips?

Visual Guide to the Logical Fallacy of the Obama Swindle

BARACK OBAMA?

Or . . .

JOHN MCCAIN?

U.S. Marshals really oughta arrest David Axelrod immediately for repeatedly and blatantly breaking Leibniz’ law.

UPDATE JULY 25th at 1:30pm: THIS NEWS IS MAKING A STIR AROUND THE COUNTRY. Yeah right Obama Movement, it’s the very junior senator’s judgment that we should all be impressed by. Yeah, right.

Barack Obama considers his options. . . He asks himself, why face this?

When I can face THIS instead!

And tell me again please, just why the hell is this guy campaigning in Europe?

Well, I just posted on Abraham’s blog for ABC.

Mr. Abrahams,

Another great article. And another example of brilliant marketing by the Obama campaign. What better way then to make people believe things to be true than to give them an ‘image’ they can invoke. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Fellow citizens – seeing is not believing. There is a reason for the cliche – believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

It is pompous and arrogant of him to posture in a place and role historically assigned to ELECTED Presidents. It was insulting to hear him apologize for our nation’s lack of perfection – especially after all we do for other nations! It was degrading to ALL Americans to hear him open his speech with a divisive and racially based comment like “I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in …”. And to add insult to injury . . . he ignored our troops. Wasn’t he (and his 300 advisors)supposed to be traveling to get a first hand account on Iraq? He’s an opportunist and a narcissist. Why did he diss Katie Couric’s questions? Why is he refusing to disclose his discussions with the leaders of other nations if he was acting as a citizen? a Senator?

So what was he on this trip? WHO was he on this trip? Citizen? Senator? Candidate? Actor? Fraud?

This is your great UNITER? The man who paid for two well known rock bands to open his speech? Heck – who wouldn’t want to go to a free concert by their most popular rock bands? Reminds me of the marketing ploy “hey, we’ll send you on a trip if you agree to listen to a four hour spiel.” And aren’t you American college students offended that all he gave you was hot dogs or a steak dinner?

One good thing about the ‘picture’ they seared into the minds of the public with the media coverage: a great many Americans are drawing correlations to Hitler and not Presidential greatness.

Senator Obama needs to worry about OUR country and OUR people and OUR problems. Oh, I forgot, you WANT our gas prices to remain high to FORCE trend to renewable energy – which does not help us NOW. Oh, I forgot, you want to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home only to redeploy them to Afghanistan for another undetermined amount of time. Oh, and then we have Iran, who you want to have tea and cookies with. You need a serious reality check, Senator Obama. Perhaps the limelight has blinded you.

We come first, Senator Obama, not you.

Mr. Abrahams, thank you for keeping these issues front and center without bias. Job well done.

But, the next morning, Nagourney awoke to an e-mail from Talking Points Memo writer Greg Sargent asking him to comment on an eight-point rebuttal trashing his piece that the Obama campaign had released to reporters and bloggers like The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder and Politico’s Ben Smith. Nagourney had not heard the complaints from the Obama camp and had no idea they were so steamed. “I’m looking at this thing, and I’m like, ‘What the hell is this?’ ” Nagourney recently recalled. “I really flipped out.”

Be sure to read the last paragraph on page 2 of the article about Obamas new problems with the press. It makes am important point which I’ll post here:

Reporters who have covered Obama’s biography or his problems with certain voter blocs have been challenged the most aggressively. “They’re terrified of people poking around Obama’s life,” one reporter says. “The whole Obama narrative is built around this narrative that Obama and David Axelrod built, and, like all stories, it’s not entirely true. So they have to be protective of the crown jewels.” Another reporter notes that, during the last year, Obama’s old friends and Harvard classmates were requested not to talk to the press without permission.

For the live of me, I can’t understand why the media will not report the truth. Like the lies that Obama spreads such as this one: Wednesday speaking to reporters in Israel Obama boasting about what he’d done to protect Israel.
“Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee – which is my
committee – a bill to call for divestment from Iran as a way of ratcheting up the pressure to
ensure that they don’t obtain a nuclear weapon,”
First, Obama is not a member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee.
Then the media didn’t bother to mention that there were paid bands that offered a free concert and that is the ONLY reason there were so many people in attendance for his failed speech.
Does this man ever stop???

“Updated Want to score one of the tickets to Senator Barack Obama’s speech next month accepting the Democratic nomination in Denver? You won’t have to pay, but you may have to work for it, according to the Obama campaign:

“In an interview with The Denver Post, the deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand indicated that the price of admission to the speech would be a pledge to volunteer and recruit new voters on behalf of Mr. Obama.

“We’re going to ask those 80,000 people in that stadium to march out of there and go with very specific instructions and goals to register millions of new voters,” Mr. Hildebrand told the newspaper.”"

Hey, Mayland PUMA, you read my mind. I had shivers up my spine listening to and watching Obama speak in Germany. All I could think of was Hitler. There is a very good book, made into a movie (for high schools, I think). It is called The Wave. Students are invited to join an all inclusive group in their school. As time goes by some become outcasts, some become central figures of importance. At the end they are all invited to the auditorium for an assembly. They are told that they are going to be introduced to their leader. Of course, they open a curtain and there is a screen with the face of Hitler towering over them. The frightening thing is that they all were innocently drawn into this group. Scarey, but a “must read.”

#61 freepuma on 07.25.08 at 12:30 pm

biased MSM beginning to bite the dust..

The New York Times (NYT: 13.20, +0.34, +2.64%) fell as low as $12.38 this morning after its second quarter earnings missed estimates. Profits plunged 82% to $21 mn versus the $118 mn posted in the same period a year ago, a period that was helped along by the one-time sale of an asset.

The share plunge is the lowest since July 1995. An historic come-down for the newspaper of record, given that in 2003, the stock traded at $45, notes Frazer Rice, a private banker in New York.

Print ads dollars at the Times continue to shrivel, sending operating income in a nosedive, as ad dollars continued their inexorable march toward the Internet. Hotels, automakers, airlines, all hurt by high energy prices, have pulled back sharply.

#66 www.NotFallingInLine.org on 07.25.08 at 12:36 pm

#59 catsrlove,

As far as I can tell, Murphy and Bower have a great working relationship.

Bower is a cofounder of JustSayNoDeal and is the head of Party Unity My A$$. Puma PAC is part of JustSayNoDeal, and its name is an acronym for People United Means Action.

They’re two different groups, but work together, greatly respect each other, and even more greatly benefit each other as we all work toward a common goal.

At least, that’s my best understanding.

As you may know, I am Knoxville Puma (Brian). I started http://www.NotFallingInLine.org out of my own concerns and to ensure that this movement is not ever taken down by political enemies who are launching personal attacks against Murphy, Bower and other leaders.

This movement will continue until we have leaders who understand core principles of democracy and who represent us and our interests well.

As to why they did not mention Murphy, I assume that they focused on Bower because of his position as co-founder of the larger umbrella group JustSayNoDeal. But I really don’t know.

Just know: when they mention Party Unity My A$$ – PUMA in any form – THEY ARE TALING ABOUT US ALL!!!

You’re doing great work.

thanks Murphy for clarifying that..the nuts and bolts of a movement are always boring and tedious but absolutely necessary for success

#87 taggles1 on 07.25.08 at 12:50 pm

I caught a brief minute of matthews this morning on morning joe and honestly, I woke everyone in the house up, crying out in laughter.

He said that he couldn’t wait for the debates, because mccain will have a hard time because precious is so “elegant”.

I swear I almost fell out of the chair, clutching coffee, losing my slippers and alarming the neighbors. Didn’t Matthews watch the ummmmmmmmm debates when precious tried unsuccessfully to debate Hillary?

This is a farce, the same farce perpetrated on us by the media in 2000 and 2004.

#88 kpw26 on 07.25.08 at 12:51 pm

Thanks Mountainsong.I knew it wasn’t orginal, but wherever it came from, it speaks volumes.

Chris Matthews is truly disgusting..
I can’t understand how his wife can sleep with him after him getting so turned on with Obama making him feel that “tingling” sensation up his leg
:)

#91 BigCatLover on 07.25.08 at 12:53 pm

#92 kids1627 on 07.25.08 at 12:54 pm

Are they patting each other on the back or what I can’t believe we have such idot’s as world leaders as a nominee Obama sucks so does McCain and for the first time in my adult life I may not vote. Why isn’t he speaking french . I thought he could another lie .

#93 freepuma on 07.25.08 at 12:54 pm

eh?

#94 SparkForHill on 07.25.08 at 12:54 pm

GW the village idiot has screwed things up soooooo bad for McCain that he has an uphill battle to sell his Iraq policy to the american people..(which Obama seems on trajectory to emulate..but we know he will lie about it..right)
(maybe Chris Matthews can advise McCain about the “surge” because that’s what he feels every time Obama speaks)

#101 vadaryl on 07.25.08 at 1:02 pm

For some reason I don’t get that surge Matthews gets up his leg. Do I have some kind of problem since I don’t get it?

how’s your blood pressure today Folks? If it’s stable, please read katiebird and susanunpc on Obama’s cancelled visit to wounded troops and why he disdained them.

Hint: he wouldn’t be allowed to bring his fawning media circus into the hospital wards, so he decided the trip wasnt worth his PRECIOUS time. the Precious!

Alright, that was more than a hint — but read katiebird and susan just the same — they have all the details.

any PUMAS with experience in demonstrations should strongly consider going to Denver to help organize effective and SAFE demonstrations..
I have a feeling there’s(I hope I’m wrong) going to be some bad you-know-what that’s going to come down in Denver and we must be prepared

Murphy,

The html file you referenced in the Prowl email has a link url that seems to reference a file rather than html.

That file is referencing a local location rather than out on the internet.

It’s become quite clear to me~~~the media elected Obama President months ago. Protesting and complaining hasn’t accomplished anything. It’s still the same SOS DD. (Same Old S**T Different Day)
I am going to stop watch MSM completely, including FOX. And, once again, I will not be voting at all in Nov.
Let them all just choke on their “Manifest Destiny”.

#131 freepuma on 07.25.08 at 1:28 pm

re#130 MS..
I understand how you feel..
but if Hillary can’t get in then we have other options open to stop Obama..not voting would be a vote for Obama..think about it..

#132 vadaryl on 07.25.08 at 1:33 pm

I have gotten over how hard it will be to vote for McCain but I am having trouble if the Great One picks Hillary for his VP.

#133 mcr on 07.25.08 at 1:34 pm

#44 BigCatLover
Yes, that is very revealing.

Further re arrogance:
“Much of this is certainly the run-of-the-mill complaining of campaign reporters who can’t get enough access. Still, the campaign hasn’t helped itself, approaching reporters with a sense of entitlement. “They’re an arrogant operation. Young and arrogant,” one reporter covering the campaign says. “They don’t believe in transparency with their own campaign,” another says.”

I cannot get the prowl to work either. On Camille424 there is a letter from #61 campaign that is being requested to copy/paste to all news media. The email #’s are listed to copy and paste. Also another FUN thing to do on that web site. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama-campaigned-at-western-wall

Some questions to ask:
If Obama’s trip to Israel was official fact-finding and not campaigning, why do Obama supporters there have large official Obama campaign banners up?

If they did it on their own, why didn’t the Obama advance team have them taken down prior to Obama arriving as a Senator and not as a candidate?

#150 maxgrader on 07.25.08 at 1:45 pm

As for how I spell media covering Obama’s trip abroad? I spell it… TMZ.

#151 freepuma on 07.25.08 at 1:46 pm

we have a mission to not only defeat Obama in November, but just as important to expose the MSM to the american public as being unfair, biased and corrupt. This election year could be a golden opportunity to drive a stake in the heart of the corrupt MSM who have killed off what used to be legitimate journalism..
We should make this election year A REFERENDUM on the MSM corruption

********************************************
A referendum (plural referendums or referenda), ballot question, or plebiscite (from Latin plebiscita, originally a decree of the Concilium Plebis) is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is asked to either accept or reject a particular proposal. This may be the adoption of a new constitution, a constitutional amendment, a law, the recall of an elected official or simply a specific government policy. The referendum or plebiscite is a form of direct democracy ideally favoring the majority.

#164 mzebest on 07.25.08 at 2:01 pm

Murphy… I stayed home from work today so I could get some things accomplished and was able to participate in today’s growl. I sent the emails but deviated from the message to the media. I want them to stop referring to the crowds he draws without reporting about the real reason the crowds are there. I sent my growl requesting that if FOX prides itself on reporting accurately, then they need to report on the rock concerts that are used to attrack the record number crowds.

#165 Mary Beth613 on 07.25.08 at 2:02 pm

Let me vent..for a minute here. I don’t know about a lot of you, but I am a Democrat, and have been for 35 years. I’m having a hard time looking to Fox to get fair and balanced stories (not all of them ,mind you)
this is just soooooooo different. When did it get like this? How can 1 man make me feel like slapping him, everytime I see him? You know, thats the way I’ve felt for 8 years with the other fool . I just don’t get it…and it makes me so angry.
I know, stay focused!! I keep telling myself that, but when I see the arrogance of this man, and the people who have been associated with his rising star…I shudder!
This man must be stopped…even if it means voting Republican!

I understand your frustration completely. I am in the same boat. What I don’t understand is how he can dupe millions in the US. Are we that gullible and needy that we no longer have enough self confidence to think for ourselves? Are we so used to 30 second sound bites that we no longer have the mental capacity to spend five minutes asking WHAT? Have we surrendered our powers of discernment to the MSM so that when Chris Matthews gets a tingle, we must also?

I am appalled, I am outraged, I am scared. But most of all I am fed up.

And that makes me a powerful PUMA.

Reaching Out and Convincing People Within Key Groups

In spreading the word about our cause and in persuading others to turn down BO, we need to target specific key groups which are critical to the Dem party and to the outcome of this election. The more people in these voting blocs that join us in our cause and in rejecting BO, the stronger we will make our case and get the DNC and the Party to listen and start cleaning up their act.

I have been exploring ways to reach out to them, gathering ideas in response to my posts, etc. We need to both educate people about the DNC/Primaries’ wrongs and to “campaign” against BO, mainly among the critical voting groups.

THESE KEY GROUPS ARE:

* Democrats that are undecided or lean toward BO but are now having doubts. Some of them may have backed Hillary (though maybe not enthusiastically) and then went to BO when HC pulled out. They’re now doubting BO and maybe were never totally sold.

* Young people getting disillusioned about BO

* Long-time BO supporters now having doubts and questions and starting to lean away from BO.

* Dem-leaning Independents who went to BO when HC pulled out.

—————–
The Democrats (and Dem-leaning Independents) are key in our cause because they are the ones expected to fall in line and give the victory to the Dem nominee. If a large number of Dems reject the Dem nominee, and BO looses big, that will send a very powerful message to the DNC and to that shady “BO/DNC conspiracy.”

So, to persuade folks to align with our PUMA-cause and reject BO we’re mainly concerned with Democrats (or Dem-leaning groups) who are undecided, uncertain and/or who once backed BO but are now doubting or questioning.

In trying to convince people within these key groups to turn down BO, it’s not enough to hit them with a list of BO’s lies, gaffes, flip-flops, his shady associations and other negatives. I’ve tried that with some of my Dem friends who even voted for Hillary but now feel they should vote for the Dem nominee. When I present BO’s “negatives” to dissuade them, they say, “Yes, he may have a lot of negatives, but McCain would be worse for the nation, and not voting for BO is helping McCain win, which I could never do.”

We need to not just present BO’s negatives, but offer powerful arguments which will convince those Dems who are more afraid of McCain than BO that we have MORE TO GAIN, in the long-run, IF BO LOOSES… even if we have to “put up” with 4 years of Mac (and we can assure them that things will be OK with moderate Mac… he’s not another Bush!).

What will we gain if BO looses? First, it will force a focus on what’s wrong with the Dem party, the DNC and the Primaries system (the Caucuses, delegate distribution, etc). A BO loss (in a year when so many factors and events heavily favor the Dems) will push the DNC/Dem-Party to focus on what doesn’t work and on what can be done to fix what doesn’t work in the Dem Party.

WE NEED TO REACH OUT, PERSUADE AND MAKE OUR NUMBERS GROW SIGNIFICANTLY IN ORDER TO HAVE A POWERFUL IMPACT.

This is a very close election and our mission (to protest the DNC & vote against BO) has to spread wide and far if we want to make our case powerfully and defeat BO. A BO loss is a PUMA win, so we must do everything to make that happen.

———————————————
I’ve been posting recently on ways to persuade and attract more people from those key groups mentioned above. I’ve presented some ideas and various people responded with theirs. I’m compiling all the good ideas and will post them soon. Share your thoughts and ideas on attracting and persuading others and I will include them in my summary!

I’m still watching the house impeachment hearing brought by Dennis Kuchinich on c-span and Mel Watt, Democrat, said the impeachment would be too distracting and we shouldn’t pursue it. I think he is just worried that it would distract from Saint Obama’s campaign and leave him open to a payback impeachment from the repubs if he wins the presidency. It never fails to amaze me how Obama’s supporters will do anything to protect him.

#209 MountainSong on 07.25.08 at 2:28 pm

Obama says that Iran needs to end their uranium enrichment program BEFORE the next president takes office. This, I believe is his REAL reason for going to Europe, to ganrer more pressure on Iran~~~because he knows if we (USA/Israel) attack Iran there is no way he could be elected to be a wartime president.

I saw that article. It’s a complete waste of time and energy reading and responding to it. Same ol’, same ol.

They sure do spend lots of time generalizing, hurling false accustaions, and attacking a movement that, in their opinion, is insignificant. They must be mimicking their Messiah’s behaviors.

It seems to me that they should have done this long before now and the Democrats the corrupted ones are probably OBAMA lovers and are trying to take over the government. If Bush and Cheney were to be impeached so would Bush’s administration which is all Republicans elected when Bush was elected. NOW they need to take a LOOK at OBAMA and charge him for Treason.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/NO-WE-WONT/2008/07/28/NO-WE-WONT-PUMA-RADIO PUMAs! I can’t tell you how excited I am for EPISODE ELEVEN of “No We Won’t” P.U.M.A. Radio! Beginning at 8pm EST, we’ll be hosting one of my (and our) heroes from this campaign season, LANNY DAVIS. While it’s true that he is currently giving Obama his support, no one was braver or more articulate in supporting Hillary on the campaign trail than was Lanny. I still consider him our friend. We look forward to giving him a warm welcome, and to asking him about ways in which we can support the process of having Hillary Clinton’s name placed into nomination at Convention. But the show doesn’t stop there! At 9pm EST, we will be welcoming Hillraiser RICKI LIEBERMAN of “ToGetHer4Us” and “The Electability Watch” to discuss her ongoing efforts to make sure that the most electable candidate, Hillary Clinton, is the Democratic nominee

Obama is talking about anything he has to in order to win an election. He could care less about Al Qaida in Afghanistan…

I think that the part of this trip to Europe is being paid for by the Obama campaign. My understanding is that it’s not part of the ‘congressional fact-finding’ mission, but is a campaign event. And it’s a ridiculous circus.

And yes, he does sound like he thinks he has already been elected. He was telling the Israeli people where ‘we’ stan. Had he said ‘the United States,’ ok. But he said ‘we’ as though he speaks FOR the American people. At least, that’s what I got from it.

NEVER!! You all know how important what you’re doing it, but you all don’t realize sometimes how great you all are.

As for NFIL, my idea was a backup, which seemed necessary because of concerns that I had. But also I honestly was hoping to put more focus on placing newspaper ads. I had a couple of ideas (which are available at a post at the site) and was receiving great comments, but I’m not sure that the money necessary to place them can be raised through http://www.NotFallingInLine.org. The cost would be in the tens of thousands of dollars, and I’m not sure yet how to get it done.

I’ve always thought that those kinds of ads were, are, and always will be KEY! Writing letters to Dean, Pelosi et al IS INFINITELY IMPORTANT. But the way to make them stop and respond to us publicly is for us to be speaking to the public.

We’re still getting media attention, and they will be asked about us (huge marker of our success), but they can too easily dismiss the questions unless the public becomes more aware of us and see us as both reasonable and right.

I want to tell everyone that I stayed up late last night and was watching FOX which (like most of us) the only channel I prefer to watch. Charles Krauthammer (who wrote the great article Audacity of Vanity) was giving his impression of the German Speech. He really hammered BO. He said the big crowd made it more obvious of how incredibly disproportionate the size of the crowd was when compared to how small, empty, and shallow the speech was.

It should be noted that around the same time Charles was criticising BO’s speech — there was a FOX ticker at the bottom of the screen that said the cost for Secret Service protection is going over anticipated budget due to BO’s tour abroad and the anticipated Invesco speech. The Secret Service needed Congress to approve something like 9 million more in funding to cover the costs (not sure on the figure… I can’t remember but it was huge). The ticker also mentioned that this was the most costly campaign year in history with respect to the Secret Service.

The sabotage that was done on the plane has never happened before by accident.

In reference to my previous post at #267 — ya know… this is a huge point to turn a lot of people off on BO. Many that don’t know about PUMA’s or aren’t well informed — do get mad when they feel tax payer money is being abused and spent in wrong and unnecessary areas of government. We need to talk about how much tax payer money and BO contributor funds are being wasted so this man can give the illusion that he’s powerful.

Obama’s path to presidency is far from clear

The Democrat is winning fans on his trip abroad, but is struggling to gain real ground against McCain at home. Some key Clinton backers remain alienated.

By Peter Nicholas, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
July 25, 2008

WASHINGTON — Even as his turn on the global stage hit an emotional peak Thursday with a speech before a cheering crowd of more than 200,000 in Germany, Barack Obama faced new evidence of stubborn election challenges back home.

Fresh polls show that he has been unable to convert weeks of extensive media coverage into a widened lead. And some prominent Democrats whose support could boost his campaign are still not enthusiastic about his candidacy.

Several new surveys show that Obama is in a tight race or even losing ground to Republican John McCain, both nationally and in two important swing states, Colorado and Minnesota. One new poll offered a possible explanation for his troubles: A minority of voters see Obama as a familiar figure with whom they can identify.

Republicans are moving to exploit this vulnerability, trying to encourage unease among voters by building the impression that Obama’s overseas trip and other actions show he has a sense of entitlement that suggests he believes the White House is already his.

In Ohio on Thursday, McCain hit that theme: “I’d love to give a speech in Germany . . . but I’d much prefer to do it as president of the United States, rather than as a candidate for the office of presidency.”

Obama also faces discontent from some of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most ardent supporters, who are put off by what they describe as a campaign marked by hubris and a style dedicated to televised extravaganzas.

Susie Tompkins Buell, a major Clinton fundraiser, said: “The Clinton supporters that I know are bothered by these rock-star events. These spectacles are more about the candidate than they are about the party and the issues that we care about.”

Obama is to return home Saturday after a nine-day trip that has produced some of the most memorable images of the campaign. Speaking in Berlin before a sea of young faces, the presumed Democratic nominee echoed a famous line from President Reagan, who, at Brandenburg Gate, implored Soviet counterpart Mikhail S. Gorbachev to “tear down this wall.”

“The walls between races and tribes, natives and immigrants, Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down,” Obama told the warmly enthusiastic crowd in Tiergarten park. He spoke from a stage constructed near the Victory Column, a soaring monument to Prussian military triumphs.

Powerful as the image was, back home some voters wondered whether the trip was necessary. Both Obama and McCain had been invited Thursday to a cancer forum organized by cyclist Lance Armstrong’s foundation at Ohio State University.

McCain showed; Obama did not. Some in the crowd took notice.

Here’s an article about the Secret Service needing more funds to protect “The Precious”.

Secret Service Wants More Funding
By EILEEN SULLIVAN, AP

WASHINGTON (July 24) – The Secret Service has asked for an extra $9.5 million to cover unexpected costs of protecting the presidential candidates during what has turned into an historic year for the agency’s campaign security job.

Among other things, the extra money would be used for the added costs for the candidates’ international travel and a late-in-the-game decision by Barack Obama to accept the Democratic nomination at Denver’s Invesco Field at Mile High – an open-air, 76,000-seat stadium – instead of the 20,000-seat Pepsi Center, which is the site of the party’s national convention.

Presidential candidates are traveling overseas with Secret Service protection more than ever before.
Obama is on a six-day trip to Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and Britain. Before that he was on a three-day congressionally sponsored trip to Afghanistan and Iraq. Republican candidate John McCain has traveled to Canada, Colombia and Mexico under the agency’s protection.

The 2008 presidential campaign cycle is the longest in Secret Service history by about five months. The Secret Service budgeted $106.65 million for the 2008 campaign cycle, compared to $73.3 million in 2004.
“I thought we had a very, very good plan in place for the campaign,” Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan said in an interview with The Associated Press earlier this week. “If past history was any type of an indicator, we anticipated picking up protection somewhere in January, February, March of 2008.”
“But the campaigns are different now,” Sullivan said.

Obama urges Iran to accept EU nuke proposal
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080725/ap_on_re_eu/obama
By ELAINE GANLEY, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 50 minutes ago

PARIS – Democrat Barack Obama said Friday that Iran should promptly accept an international call to freeze its uranium enrichment program, which some nations see as a potential step toward obtaining nuclear weapons, and not wait for the next U.S. president………..Speaking later at a news conference, Obama said Iran should accept the proposals made by Sarkozy and other Western leaders. He urged Iran’s leaders not to wait for the next U.S. president to push them “because the pressure, I think, is only going to build.”

huh???!!!???
Obama urged U.S. political reporters to seek Sarkozy’s insight because “he seems to have a good nose for how things play out.”

……Asked by a French reporter how he would differ from President Bush on foreign policy, Obama noted that he is a senator, not president. (I’m guessing this statement must be a little CYA in case he really does get called on the carpet for his overseas shenanigans. He can play dumb and point to his statements that he was not the president.)

(MAYBE HE SHOULD REMIND HIMSELF HE’S NOT OUR PRESIDENT!!!)

Blood is boiling again!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!

“I was pleased that Sarkozy mentioned the human rights violations in the Middle East. The diciplining and killing of women.”

This is the same Sarkozy that used sexism as an m.o. when he was campaigning?

Misogyny / sexism against women is on the same continuum as the disciplining and killing of women.

Maybe it’s time to sink to their level and start using the the same tactics against them? I guarantee you, lots of men would not risk falling asleep.

WisPolitics: Dems dump Clinton delegate to national convention now backing McCain
7/25/2008

A Democratic Party of Wisconsin committee voted unanimously this afternoon to strip the credentials of a Hillary Clinton delegate from Racine County who had publicly stated her support for John McCain this fall.

The state party filed a formal complaint with the DNC seeking to revoke the credentials of Debra Bartoshevich, saying party rules and a pledge she signed required her to support the party’s nominee this fall.

During the conference call, committee members tried to pin her down on whether she’d vote for Barack Obama after she publicly expressed questions about his experience earlier this year.

“Are you going to vote for the eventual nominee of Democratic Party, irrespective of who it is?” asked Gary Sherman, a state Representative from Port Wing.

“I’m making no comments on who I’m voting for in the fall election,” she replied, saying she want wants to hear platforms of candidates and that she is “still getting to know Senator Obama.”

I too sent a letter to Charles Krauthammer. I stated the following:

Dear Mr. Krauthammer,

I have read your articles and seen your appearance on FOX at night. I am a PUMA member and it does my heart proud to finally hear someone not afraid to speak to the center of what many of us have already witnessed regarding Senator Obama. Unfortunately, we are continually frustrated in hearing many media pundits persist on camouflaging Obama’s flaws. Thank you for standing up and being one of the few that has the courage to speak to our voice, our thoughts, and our concerns about this candidate.

I would be particularly interested if only now someone would finally dispell the myth that Senator Obama attracks large crowds. The Obama machine is quite aware that Senator Obama is not truly capable of attracting large crowds on his own. This is the reason that he promotes free rock concerts to aid in the attraction for these crowds. If you look at the footage on FOX at the crowds arriving in the morning to prepare for the appearance of Obama, they weren’t rushing to the square to see Obama, they were rushing to get a front row view of the free rock concert that he offered to attract the young people and the crowd.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/07/24/will-media-report-concert-obamas-berlin-speech

This same tactic was implemented back in May for his appearance in Portland, Oregon before the Oregon primary. It was reported that he attracted a crowd of 75,000 like a rock star. But the main stream media never once reported that this crowd was coming to see an actual popular Portland rock star band:

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=65510

http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/05/21/did-obama-benefit-from-decemberist-uprising/

I am tired of hearing about how Senator Obama attracks record number crowds when the media intentionally continues to fail us on reporting the WHOLE TRUTH (which is that this man is shallow and can’t attract anyone without media marketing).

Again, thank you for not participating in that marketing hype.

Sincerely,

If there’s one thing about the media we can count on, it’s that they love a story. And they’ll report bad news just as fast as (if not faster than) good news. They’d eat Obama alive if he made a big enough gaffe. So it pays to let the “good guys” know we’re paying attention to what they have to say.

Nah… it makes for a better story if he pays someone to steal the real thing. Plus, it makes sense that an Obama paid supporter would do this since it’s obvious that Obama and his employees would never respect the sacredness that the Jewish population would have for this wall and the prayers offered there… the history associated with it.

Also, when I got the gmail re today’s prowl, there were 2 parts. Luckily, I copied it & pasted the 2 section prowel into my MS Word doc. After I went back to my Inbox for that same e-,ail/growl, only half of the growl was there??????

#397 DancesWithPumas on 07.25.08 at 4:55 pm

Hi chrissieD
_____________________________________________
from the uk blog I posted earlier:

“The first note that jarred was when he said that “I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen.” Well, despite the intelligence-insulting insistence by Obama’s staff that this is a not a campaign trip there’s no doubt that it is exactly that – and that this was a campaign rally.

His statement that “I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken here” was a comparison to those privileged old white guys John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.”

There’s that race card again! Thing is, Obama isn’t a black candidate (even if he identifies that way culturally). He’s bi-racial. He doesn’t get to chose either black or white. He’s BI-RACIAL.

Hey everyone! I have some FANTASTIC news!! I’ve been researching and studying various films from HRC’s recent “unity” speeches with BHO.

As many of you know, Hilary is doing those unity speeches completely against her will!! Also, her husband is standing behind Barrack because his mind is being influenced by outside powers!!

While watching the videos of her Unity speeches I noticed that her eyes were blinking in a strange pattern. I brought out my old Morse Code for Dummies book and that’s when I discovered that HRC is sending PUMA a secret message that she wants US to fight for her!!

She of course is allowing us to read her mind through her blinks and all this “Unity” stuff that she’s doing? It’s not even her!!! They have hired an HRC look-a-like and she’s just doing this because BHO hired her to make those speeches!!

Also, about her website and how it says:

“While Hillary is no longer actively campaigning for herself, our work is not done. That’s why she traveled to Unity, NH on Friday to campaign with Senator Barack Obama. Hillary called on all of her supporters to unite behind Senator Obama and ensure a victory for America in November by electing him to be President.”

That’s not true!! That’s from her website but it’s been hijacked by BHO supporters!! She told me this personally in a series of blink-stories during her unity speech!! She doesn’t really mean it!! She secretly wants you to dismantle her party even though she’s been a member of that party her whole life!!

Rise Hillary, oh yes thou shalt RISE to meet your destiny!! Down with Democricy!! Destroy the election!! Thou shalt smite all of those who oppose thee!!

It will take politics and power to address these challenges, the two factors that dare not speak their name in Obama’s lofty peroration.

The odd thing is that Obama doesn’t really think this way. When he gets down to specific cases, he can be hard-headed. Last year, he spoke about his affinity for Reinhold Niebuhr, and their shared awareness that history is tragic and ironic and every political choice is tainted in some way.

But he has grown accustomed to putting on this sort of saccharine show for the rock concert masses, and in Berlin his act jumped the shark. His words drift far from reality, and not only when talking about the Senate Banking Committee. His Berlin Victory Column treacle would have made Niebuhr sick to his stomach.

Obama has benefited from a week of good images. But substantively, optimism without reality isn’t eloquence. It’s just Disney.

Cindy Sheehan is a gutsy anti-war Democrat who is challenging Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat. If Cindy wins, Nancy will be OUT of Congress.

To get on the primary ballot, Cindy must turn in 10,198 signatures by August 8. As of today, she has 9,764.

Let’s help put her over the top! Donate. to her signature collection drive!

$1,000 TOTAL would do it — $10 each from 100 people, or $5 each from 200.

From Cindy’s website at http://www.cindyforcongress.org/
If you don’t live in San Francisco you can still help. Besides all of the amazing volunteers we have on the streets collecting signatures, we also have paid signature gathers helping us out. This costs us $1 for every signature they collect, worth every penny – but an extra expense.
A $10 donation can help us secure 10 valid signatures. Support our signature drive with a contribution. Click here to donate.

VIRAL EMAILS agaisnt BO

A friend of mine in the east coast backed Hillary during the primaries but when HC pulled out she moved to BO. I told her about JSND/PUMA and sent her the link to pumapac. She’s open-minded and I thought I was swaying her away from BO… But then one day she received a forwarded chain email (viral email) with the subject: “20 Reasons Why We Must Keep McCain from Winning” (something along those lines). She forwarded it to me and wrote, “Did you know all this?! I just can’t let the Republicans win. It might be sad what happened to Hillary… and BO may not be the ideal… but McCain is worse, SO I’M VOTING FOR BO!”

Well… I’m still working on her. But the main point here is that this got me thinking about the effectiveness of these “viral/chain emails”… and (I suggested this before, but more meekly) … WHY NOT CREATE OUR OWN VIRAL EMAIL(s)… something like, “20 Reasons Why We Should Turn Down Obama.”

At the bottom, these viral-emails usually say, “Please forward this to at least 5 people”… or, “Please forward this to as many people as possible” …. or “…to all the registered voters you know.” This is how they spread all over the cyberworld!!!

The templates for the chain email can be nicely formatted and would be found at a PUMApac page (the Action Center?) available for us to download or copy and paste into a blank email so we can send it to other people and have them forward it to others.

The viral-email template at PUMApac could be periodically updated to reflect any new relevant information that comes out about BO, etc. Also, when we copy and paste it into our blank email, we can change or modify anything to make it sound better for the person we are sending it to.

I know some organizations (I think even MoveOn.org) have used the viral-email idea to “campaign” and spread info throughout the internet. Why don’t we also do something like that?

PS. If you didn’t see my post earlier today, here’s the link to it:
http://blog.pumapac.org/2008/07/25/cupcake-or-turnips/#comment-66475
(If you hold CTRL while you click, it opens in a new tab)
I’m compiling ideas for ways to “campaign” against BO and boost our PUMA cause and welcome more ideas and thoughts.

“My God..ya just love to hate Obama he’s so pathetically hysterical!”

That’s what I don’t get… I see all these articles about how comedians don’t make fun of Obama cause they can’t get a handle on anything funny about the guy. For me… I find everything about this guy is laughable. I don’t get where the problem is. Jon Stewart is still a huge example of a disappointment to me. He’s started to make fun of how the media fawns over Obama… but the humor is still aimed at the media… not Obama. I want him to see the full light and will refuse to watch and provide ratings until he gets it. I think Colbert might get it — but not completely sure yet.

I wouldn’t put it past the Obama clown crew to change the lyrics of “Oh Susanna” in order to win the southern vote..

I come from Obama
With my banjo on my knee
I’m going to Louisiana,
My true love for to see

It rained all night
The day I left
The weather it was dry
The sun so hot,
I froze to death
Susanna, don’t you cry

Oh, Chris Matthews,
Oh don’t you cry for me
For I come from Obama
With my banjo on my knee

I had a dream the other night
When everything was still
I thought I saw Susanna
A-coming down the hill

The buckwheat cake
Was in her mouth
The tear was
In her eye
Says I, I’m coming from the south
Susanna, don’t you cry

Oh, (Chris Matthews),
Oh don’t you cry for me
For I come from Obama
With my banjo on my knee

Not necessarily. It was merely the first idea that came to me after seeing what you had already done. But it could be available as an option to Pumas who are circulating flyers, especially if it’s done as a PDF flyer people can download and print at home without big drains on their ink cartridges.

A collegue of mine that I used to work with (we did some work studying seom viral and social networking ideas) mentioned a couple of online tools for social networking that more international folks use. It’s know secret that MySpace and FaceBook are huge and the largest in the US, but the rest of the world flock to these…

It’s rather easy to reach out to Internation Folk and some Americans.

Letter size would be best. I normally use 300 dpi images, but maybe 150 dpi would be good enough for the purposes of a Puma flyer.

“The Democratic National Convention 2008 is anticipated to attract 35,000 guests to the region including delegates, elected officials, media, and political enthusiasts from around the world.”

Picked up this little snippet from Delphine’s blog:

An interesting piece of news : the French president was interviewed this morning by the French newspaper Le Figaro, and declared : “Barack and I are good friends. I’ve always known that he was going to be the Democratic nominee, contrary to what my advisers told me. I knew Hillary Clinton did not have much chance of winning against Barack” !
I’m sure Hillary will be very pleased to learn that

President Clinton is in Africa. Sorry bobo.

Hi

Too many children die before their time—40 children die of AIDS every hour. President Clinton’s upcoming visit to Africa is an important opportunity to save lives that need not be lost. For example, President Clinton and the Clinton Foundation have already negotiated a 90 percent reduction in the cost of pediatric medicines!

Pledge to do your part against AIDS. »

In 2007, the Clinton Foundation’s pediatric program, in partnership with UNITAID, helped double the number of children on treatment in 33 countries. Their programs support two out of every three children globally receiving treatment for HIV/AIDS.

That’s what it means to lead with your heart — doing what you can to build a bright, healthy future for children who would’ve otherwise suffered or even died. In keeping with this spirit, stand together with President Clinton and pledge to lead with your heart.

Help make the next generation the first generation free of AIDS. »

Thanks for taking action!

It is for all the PUMAs! I hope you (ewe *hope*) I would love it if you came to read it. (I had some editing help from Jane.)

Here is a taste:

Anti-puma groups and blogs seem to be springy up everywhere. Blog posts and articles are being written and hitting the MSM. They all have one thing in common – they are mad at PUMA’s for not supporting Obama. We have been called all kinds of names, including the R word….REPUBLICAN. And yes, RACIST. The running theme of the anti-PUMA sites is about how insignificant we are. How few we are. How we are trying to destroy and ruin the Democratic Party. How we will ruin Hillary, and destroy the country. (Funny so much attention is being paid to such a small insignificant group of old, bitter women.)

#542 andy85719 on 07.25.08 at 6:57 pm

Pumas, I am thinking of sending this letter to Fox’s Bill O’Reilly, what do you think?

Dear Mr. O’Reilly:

“I never trust people’s assertions, I always judge of them by their actions.” Your news program has asserted its impartiality, integrity, truthfulness. It claims to tell the people that which they need to know, expose that which needs to be exposed, praise those who need to be praised, and scorn those who need to be scorned. The “folks” are important, deserving the un-spun truth from a layman. I took your assertions to heart, blasting those who rebuked your show for giving biased stances or attacking guests. What I should have done though, was to look at your programs actions. Yes, I believe that those attacks were unfounded at the time that they were lodged, the guests were unruly, the time short. Still, you can only judge a man’s integrity when he is faced with a challenge. This years election has been very challenging and unfortunately I find that what I thought was integrity may have merely been a passing illusion, a mirage. I expected fair and balanced; I received spun and tilted.

This years presidential election will go down in history as one of the most unusual in that it not only lacked any substantive discourse, but its execution was not facilitated by “we the people” but rather, we the talking heads, pundits, and commentators. It seems that America is not a bulwark of strength but a haven of superficiality, easily impressed by the bon mots of people so vapid and self-centered that their words feel like acid upon the skin of a well-reasoned person; manna in the mouth of the ignorant. Surely the media, so well guarded by the sacred First Amendment, would find it incumbent upon them to demonstrate a modicum of impartiality when presenting a presidential race, but alas it doesn’t. It has found it convenient for ideological purposes to dispense with such pretensions and present news so clearly biased that it burns when passing through the ear or eye. Your program, touted as an entity detached from the doublespeak, has shown an unwillingness to expose that which needs to be exposed. No, it has kept the pretension of impartiality, blasting the other media for their impartiality, lecturing the public about the campaign it is going to embark on against the mainstream media; and yet, it fails to fulfill its purpose. Obama can lie, deceive, steal, grandstand, and your program seems to chalk it up to error, poor planning, imprecision, or naiveté. You’ll advise him to make better choices next time, like a rap on the hands of a hardened criminal, but what next? No investigation, no program, no prime-time thrashing? Is it the desire for ratings, fear of Ailes and Murdoch, or secret delight in the participation in a most concerning snow-job that compels you to treat a lying, cheating presidential pretender better than you treat a mother who gives their kid some alcohol or a teacher who hands out radical assignments. You have rightfully railed against the coarsening of the culture, smashed proponents of weak borders, pummeled defenders of criminality, lambasted cultural progressivism and un-Americanism; yet, when all of these are rolled up into a tightly wrapped package and delivered from the Soros warehouse, nothing.

A man’s reputation is the only thing a man has of value; soil it and it won’t fetch a dime. Your reputation is being very badly damaged. It is not that you do anything objectionable but that you don’t do that which we would expect from you. So highly touted, so highly paid, you drift into our living rooms touting “no-spin”; hawking books, shirts, pens, and cups; and most of all, promising to look out for us. I wonder, has the greed and corruption that you used to rail against seeped into your very being? Do you find it inconvenient to investigate the powerful when your boss doesn’t like it? Is the fear of being called a racist so overwhelming that you would toss the “folks” under the bus to save your own skin? What is it? Edwards makes comments about people sleeping under a bridge and you bludgeon him to death, bringing up interviews of people living near his giant mansion, issuing challenges to the candidate himself. Obama has left his district in abject povery, no comment; delivered messages that are so inconsistent as to be laughable, “oh that is just being a politician”; journeyed overseas on a trip for the sole purpose of aggrandizing himself while he rips America as an imperfect country that needs to join in the one world government, “I don’t know if it will hurt him or not”; issued vicious attacks against his opponents, engaging in ageism, sexism and racism, “Well, you shouldn’t do that”; and concocted bold-faced lies in front of thousands of people, no comment. I hope your are being paid very well for your silence. I know that you will say that you have remained impartial but I say you have not remained a journalist.

It is my opinion that your approach to handling the Obama situation is much more insidious than that of MSNBC and CNN. They implicitly acknowledge their bias, featuring outrageous commentary that shocks the conscience. You act as if no story is necessary. You slather a layer of sanctimony over your commentary and continue as if such stories are of no importance to you or that no story exists. For a person so interested in “looking out for the folks” you seem to be looking out quite a bit for yourself and your self-interests. I hope the interview with Obama is worth it. I hope you can redeem yourself.

I am so disgusted at his apathy for the disgusting campaign Obama is running! NOBAMA!!

i mean normally it takes just a few courageous voices – just even one person there is better than none. it shows that at least there are still people willing to go against the masses and stand up for what they believe in they don’t need the protection of mass crowds. they brave enough to stand up for what they believe in. Even though i think a lot of people will be there if not physically then in spirit. :-)

BTW, I’m not suggesting the Paint.net is better than PhotoShop or something of that caliber. Most people can’t afford such software and only want to fool around with something similar.

And Paint.NET is a big upgrade from the built in paint program on windows. For instance, you can work with layers and special effects.

Temp tattoos, sun visors, water bottles, bracelets, new shirts, yard signs already in the works – waiting to hear from printer(s).

Viral emails that carry the PUMA PAC name have to be approved by Murphy. She takes the fall if legally if any 527 laws are broken.

Any idea when we will find out about the shirts and gear for Denver?

I would not use the PUMA PAC logo paw, I was only going to draw a realistic paw in black and white. If you need artistic help, I and many others will be happy to help.

I posted above about donating to Cindy Sheehan to get on the primary ballot against Pelosi — cindyforcongress.org

When I posted it over at clintondems someone replied:

I just donated. And when I filled out my name and address, i noticed a option to donate “In Honor Of”…..so I wrote-
“In honor of Sen. Hillary R. Clinton. One of 18 Million wants Pelosi OUT! (Don’t let the door hit ya, Nancy!)”
Everyone who donates to Cindy, make sure you donate “in honor of” Hillary. That will make a statement that we Clintonites are working hard to ruin the policial careers of hypocrites like Pelosi.

Good comment, but, why give those groups more juice?
Why waste time on them? They’re a distraction, and if we chased around the Internet visiting every intellectual swamp and responding to the negativity aimed at PUMA and stopping PUMA, we’d never get anything accomplished, and isn’t that their intention anyway? To create diversiona and obstacles to slow down our progress? We’ve already seen what the back and forth attacks have wrought. Publicizing goofy little fights between blogs is embarassing. And, it also brings more traffic to their sites. I’m not willing to enable them, either with site hits, nor publicity.

Just as I vote with the way in which I chose to spend my money, I also vote by not adding traffic, hits, and juice to obamapod sites. Enough people on this blog bring the swamp to us, I’m not about to go out of my way to go to the swamp.

#582 chrissieD on 07.25.08 at 7:20 pm

i wonder if any of these anti-puma sites know the true meaning of democracy i mean its an individuals right not to support obama or to support obama if they so choose. i mean u don’t see the puma movement trying to shut down the pro-O sites. I mean why are they moaning and insisting people support O have they never heard of freedom of choice. As i said b4 to me this is not abt hillary or obama its fundementally abt democracy and ensuring that the voice of the people gets heard. so whether hillary, bill, McCain, or bush all insist that people should support Obama it doesn’t change the fact that its an individuals right and choice not to.

I want to let you all know that Drac will be off line for a few days. He was researching the last few names for the database and followed a link for one of the SD’s e-mail addresses. The link was spoofed and it appears his computer was the victim of a virus attack. It’s at the shop now being repaired.

Please be careful following links. In yahoo, there is a setting that will show you if a link is malicious, I don’t think google has this feature. At least, I’ve never seen it.

I know it not funny but boy is he going to be ticked with Wizard and I when he reads our e-mails to him later. We shared the love at his expense. :)

PUMAs can do what they wish as individuals, but we have to be careful assigning any project directly to the PAC.

Very strict laws regarding what we can and can not do. I’ve had ideas that got nixed because they were something a PAC could not do. That’s why I always run everything by Murphy that has the logo, name or is suggested to come from the PAC.

However, you ARE free to identify yourself as a member or direct people here. :)

I know, confusing, but that’s politics and PACs.

Looks like they are going to have self-defense classes, Food Not Bombs will be serving free meals to the community at the Festival of Democracy throughout the week. The meals will be for free, but they need you all to assist them by bringing a reusable fork, plate and cup to minimize our impact on the environment. …
No need to get involved with them, just giving you the link to see what they are doing to prepare themselves. Pumas need to be ready to pounce if necessary!

Hi again !

Thank you all for leaving nice and friendly comments on my blog, and messages here. I haven’t had the time to answer you personally, but I’m very happy to see that you have enjoyed my report.
If you are interested, You’ll find a final update : I’ve just added it.
http://hillary.meilleur.choix.qu-obama.over-blog.com/

I’ve got another good piece of news : for the first time on a French radio, the name Puma has been pronounced. So now I hope a lot of French people who were ignoring your existence will be interested, and will try to learn a little more about you.
Do you remember I had told you a while ago that I would try to speak today on a French radio, as I knew they would cover Obama’s trip in details.
Well, as I was busy watching Obama and Sarkozy on TV, I asked my boyfriend, who is also a Hillary supporter, to do it for me.
There was a program on Europe 1 (a very famous national radio, listened to everyday by MILLIONS OF PEOPLE) which was commenting on Obama : the guests were a historian who is a specialist of American politics and a biographer of Obama (who is American I think).
My boyfriend called them to remind them that Obama is only the presumptive Democratic nominee, that there might be a surprise in Denver, and above all that …
the PUMAS are not ready to vote for him !
He gave the two meanings of “Puma” : People Unity Means Action, and Party Unity my Ass ! And, surprisingly, the people he was speaking to did not contradict him, and even recognized there might be a problem with Obama after all !!!

For those of you who understand French, here is the link :
http://www.europe1.fr/popup/reecoute/(idconducteur)/78391/(idsequence)/1215
The program lasts for about 15 minutes : you can go forward to hear my boyfriend at 00h08min30sec : this is when the name Puma is pronounced, but you may not understand when he says “People United means Action” : his English accent is so bad !!

(the link is also to be found on my blog)

Well, I have been stabbed in the back by someone I considered a friend.

This “friend” and I have known each other for several years. They’re not really into politics but we have discussed this year’s Democratic primaries…

my “friend” has always said they weren’t voting for *61 (but never said what they’d do instead.) So I had been telling them all my reasons for not supporting *61 and why I’d support McCain IF Hillary isn’t the nominee.

Well, everything was fine until this afternoon. My friend had apparently repeated everything I said to a group of their friends (all of whom are *61 followers.) And now I have to get rid of my Hillary for Pres. & my McCain yard signs (because they’ve been spray painted.) And I also have to keep my car in the garage from now on because I have been told (by this “friend”) that the first chance they get, my car will be next.

Being the perceptive Puma I am…I took a small recorder with me BEFORE this “friend” told me what their friends were planning. The recorder, hidden in my pocket during the conversation, is now with the police. A copy of the tape was hand delivered, by me, to my “friend’s” boss. And now, my “friend” will most likely be losing their job AND charges may be filed against their friends.

So…I think I’ve made myself pretty clear about where I stand…don’t you?

Anyone feel like calling out a blogger on some inconsistencies about PUMA?

http://jmcpherson.wordpress.com/2008/07/25/pumas-stalk-political-relevance-and-irony/#comment-186

I started you off:

Your complete non-grasp of the entire PUMA / JustSayNoDeal movement is evident in the number of erroneous and partial facts in your blog. You don’t even have the name right for goodness sake.

And Darragh’s donation to McCain is OLD news . . . she did it 8 years ago in a attempt to make sure Bush did not get the Republican nomination – she voted Gore. Her current donations went to Clinton.

Different organizations under one umbrella with different reasons for protest but the same short term goal in mind – Nobama.

I can not speak of the other 230+ sites, including an increasing number of FORMER Obama supporter sites.

I can tell you that PUMA PAC is organized, mobilized, and focused in their mission and their purpose. Our site and emails have been hacked repeatedly, our members have been accosted, and our Executive Director has received death threats. We’ve been cursed out, called names, and e-threatened. We’ve been ridiculed, laughed at, and slandered by the media and those who disagree with our mission or purpose.

Efforts like yours continue to try to derail us, but we stand strong.

We’re still here.

We’ll see you in Denver.

We’ll remember in November.

Re Debra Bartoshevich:

The Democratic Party today has told all Democrats that dissent will not be permitted, that all Democrats must fall sheepishly in line behind the party leadership, that we will only be represented by them if we want what they want us to want and do what they want us to do.

The Democratic Party today has declared that they want to strip us of yet another right as citizens. No one is allowed to speak as a stalwart Democrat by opposing the party’s leadership. We have to shut up and fall in line.

At the beginning of June, when Murphy launched Puma PAC, I was among the very first to join.

I remember in the first days that there was intense debate among Pumas about whether or not voting for John McCain was a valid form of protest. I thought, “Of course, it is.”

There were others who said that they would vote for McCain because he is more moderate and more qualified than Barack Obama, and were challenged for taking that position because it would mean that they were not true Democrats. I thought, “Of course we’re true Democrats. Mindless sheep vote the party line. True Democrats expect – no demand – that their leaders uphold core democratic principles and represent them and their interests or step aside for leaders who will.”

What is the purpose of having a convention at which delegates select the party’s nominee if the outcome has been predetermined and any delegate who refuses to fall in line with the predetermined selection is denied access to the convention?

We no longer have a democratic Democratic Party.

Our choice is either to fight – revolution style – until every last one of those failed pseudo-leaders is out of power over the Democratic Party, or find leaders who will help us replace the undemocratic Democratic Party.

Keep watching the Global list growing and had a thought!
Perhaps signs in the languages of the countries ( or maybe even flags) that represent our global members in Denver will send a message regarding OUR “foreign relations”. Plus I feel it is a token of respect and friendship to show them how much we appreciate all their support and efforts in our cause.

Someone also mentioned the other night that the names of all our members could be on signs, so those of us who can not attend will feel some small sense of being there. Perhaps you already saw it .

Good for you for staying strong.

Y’know… local media love this type of thing. It might help along with the police action.

Hi Edwaed good to see you

Can’t we do a SD prowl sending the ROVE/ Brazile connection story to everyone and Pelosi and DEan and the media. It sounds like the missing link. ROVE knew he could get her co-operation with enough stroking-It makes more sense now-we must get Hillary back!!

Wow! What courage you have shown by standing up to these bullies. How dare they threaten you. This is why I oppose *61. He inspires the worst traits in his followers.

My post went off into space again. I will retype it.

#66 Brian My brain is “on vacation”. I did not realize
you were the founder of “Not Falling In Line.org.”
I will try to check in on your site when I can.

#75 Big Cat Lover Thanks for telling me about the poll.

#130 Mountain Song Please reconsider not voting. That will only help nobama. We must help to put McCain in office. We do know that this man is a war hero, and a true patriot. All we know about nobama is that he is a big bag of hot air..

We must think of our Country. We have to protect it from nobama.

We have completed part 1 of our project, are you up to help us with part 2 ?

Fantastic!! Yes I am ready Trish, sock it to me by email.
I hope the second part is less timely. :-)

Push the story about him playing basketball instead of visiting the wounded troops!

#763 MountainSong on 07.25.08 at 9:42 pm

Gonna be great if the Hell’s Angels show up to rally in Denver and protest Obama. LOL

#134 freepuma I doubt Hillary would accept a position on the Supreme Court. Our girl wants to be in the middle of the action. She will be too.

#210 texas4hillary I think Jack Cafferty is in love with noboma. I know he hates women…

Anyone catch Glenn Becks show tonight? It was great.
He really gave it to noboma. I think his take on the “middle class” was wrong. He thinks the md is shrinking because it is moving up… Wrong it is sinking.

Reached my time limit on sitting at pc. Night all of you
PUMAS.

MP: I responded there, though it’s still in moderation..

Excuse me for pointing out history to you, Mr. Lopez, but FDR won the nomination of the Democratic Party on the fourth ballot!!!! The Democratic party that I USED to believe in does not exist any more. It’s been taken over by people I do not recognize as leaders. No one can “select” a candidate for me!!! My vote is my own.

I might also point out, Mr. McPherson, that you are doing the same thing that a lot of the Nobama supporters always do.. honing in on one point and blogging about it over and over and over again, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. The fact that Darragh Murphy donated to Senator McCain’s campaign in 2000, which, by the way, she has never denied, is simply illrevelant!!!

I made my own decision long before the primaries were considered “over” that I could not and would not support Nobama and I own my vote!!!!

I think maybe the Germans are USED to Barack’s kind of politician – they’ve been there, done that

I say let Barack be President of Germany

I say let him take his racist wife there too

They are USED to racist nonsense – they APPLAUD IT – with a few very brave exceptions……

And they have a lot of guilt, so let them do the whole reverse-racist thing….maybe it’ll make them feel a little less guilty

…Of course, with Barack in charge, they’ll be guilty of a whole NEW world order….

Better them than us………
