Puma PAC Lion’s Share on No We Won’t Radio

A fun treat for tonight Puma PAC. Riverdaughter and I will be joining Sherri at No We Won’t Radio for the first installment of the Lion’s Share — an evening of fun and planning, from 8-10pm eastern. Confluence regulars Mawm and Gary Chapel Hill will join us for Denver updates, and we’ll be performing a radio play by the talented Madamab! It should be great fun — tune your internet dials here, and join the conversation. The Listener Line is: 347-539-5420.

Speaking of Denver. Folks, each bus costs between $8,000 and $14,000 (depending on starting point). Puma PAC members have been VERY generous, but to be brutally honest, we are going to have to raise quite a bit more to get a bus traveling to Denver from New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Jacksonville — that’s over $60,000. SO, have a drink tonight at the Lion’s Share and join the fun. A beer or glass of wine costs $10. Mixed drinks are $20. But feel free to tip generously if you can. Water is always free!

For those prices I want a body shot… ;) jk .. well maybe?

hey, Lou Dobbs just has some pretty good straight talk about the love afair with BO. He actually sounded disgusted with them.

A comment on Lou Dobbs was…Lou, I thought the media was suppose to non bias..Lou replied… that was a LONG time ago. Good for him. I do not always agree with his views….this was refreshing.

#14 wontbackdown on 07.23.08 at 7:37 pm

#13 LibertyPuma… Lou is trying to do the right thing. I’m proud of him… it takes guts to speak out against today’s MSM monopolies.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my request.

Dances with Pumas, I am so glad you are not changing your name!

Asian4Hillary, I completely agree. I do not watch either channel. It is just that it makes me utterly furious when I am inadvertantly witness to such blatant bias. I feel we need to be vigilant in calling the media on this when we see it.

Sigh. I know, I am tilting at windmills. I love you Pumas. Thank you for letting me vent. I will shut up now.

Lou is going to have a panel talking about all media morons following Nobama around. Should be good, I will keep my fingers crossed.

#22 Asian4Hillary on 07.23.08 at 7:43 pm

I like Lou Dobbs, he say it as is, he doesn’t toe the line or besotted with NOBAMA. Anderson Cooper is totally enamored with NOBAMA, I think the man feel some tingle crawling up his legs when he’s next to NOBAMA.

ABC7 in Chicago on The Denver Group

http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=6282893

“Clinton delegate Kevin Conlon says that Hillary appreciates their commitment but doesn’t want a convention fight.

It’s nice that they have those passions but she has made it clear she respects the nomination process and Senator Obama has won it fair and square and she will be behind him,” said Conlon.”

————————-

If this is true what this delegate is saying… it is time we rally to defeat Obama ny making sure McCain is elected.

It is not my first choice, but the BEST Choice, considering the alternative – IMO.

#28 antifish on 07.23.08 at 7:50 pm

Oh, did my prowl. I was out and about today putting out flyers. Finally realized I had to remove those pesky little parentheses to get the email to send. LOL!

#29 Asian4Hillary on 07.23.08 at 7:50 pm

I used to like Keith Olbermann but when he started his tirade about Hillary calling her some names, that did it for me. I turned off MSNBC after that. Then, with CNN, it was Cafferty, Roland Martin and others literally drag Hillary to the ground and kicking her down. I’ve never heard and seen anything like it on TV. Damn! I miss Bernard Shaw, Walter Cronkite and the rest of REAL JOURNALISTS!

I miss TED TURNER! When he sold CNN to Time Warner, the sheit hit the fan! CNN now is tabloid news, might as well watch INSIDE EDITION. MSNBC and CNN is having a race who can be the best tabloid news. Their reporters are inferior. I remember my friend who happens to be a journalist said to me one time, “journalists are reporters who report something they themselves do not understand, put their own spin and pretend to be knowledgeable of the subject.”

Hillary is saying what she has to. Don’t fret.

One, she has to appear to support Obama if she’s going to continue fighting for healthcare and all the other causes she champions.

Two, should she win the nomination, she will need the support of Obama’s followers. She can’t afford to antagonize them.

It’s our job now to fight the battle that she cannot. Keep your spirits up. Keep the dream alive. Hillary didn’t end her campaign. That means we still have hope for Denver.

#60 maxgrader on 07.23.08 at 8:05 pm

Guess you’ve all heard that Ms. Clinton today officially came out against PUMA: “We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.”

I’m not in the least bit affected by her statement. Nothing much about Ms. Clinton reflects my principles anymore.

However, regarding efforts to pay off her debt, which by the way I’m not an advocate for, I read some piece by a certain Tom Christopher (don’t know him, but he sounds like a twit reporter) saying that a spokesperson for the Clinton campaign claims they haven’t seen a cent from any PAC group.

Justsaynodeal.com says $10 milion was raised to pay off her debt; about 5 million is left.

However, according to the FEC, Clinton only raised $2.7 million in June, vs. $5.4 million in new spending.

A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign had this to say:

“As far as we know, that $10 million is a fallacy. We have not seen that money. It is our understanding that these groups provide links to our website, and there is no way to track which sites those donations come from. We have received no donations from the PAC.”

I take it the true numbers to what’s been raised will be announced on August 20. I hear most of the money raised took place between the fourth of July and now. That period has not been accounted for yet.

I’m getting curious again. If Ms. Clinton doesn’t want PUMA’s support then how can she then turn around and accept its money for her debt?

In my opinion Ms. Clinton is becoming an enigma. Dare I say, CRAZY

#79 jdona on 07.23.08 at 8:17 pm

#60 – The internet campaign to raise money for Hillary was July 4th, so it won’t show up until August’s report to the FEC. While Hillary was my candidate, she doesn’t speak for me. And she doesn’t own my vote. I appreciate she is a former First Lady and her husband is a former Democratic President. I understand she has to support the Democratic Party and I don’t begrudge her that loyalty. My loyalty is to vote my interests, and that of my family’s. I own my vote and Obama hasn’t earned it. I won’t support him, I have disavowed the Democratic Party and re registered as an independent. I will vote for the most qualified candidate now, and in the future. My strong belief was that Hillary was the best candidate. My strong belief now is that John McCain is the strongest of the remaining candidates. Hillary won this nomination, she had the popular vote, and she won it. The DNC denied her that victory and stuck us with the weakest of candidates. That was their error, but I won’t punish my country or myself by supporting that error in judgement. While I appreciate all of Hillary’s qualifications, I won’t be swayed by her statements of party unity. I will still vote for the best candidate. And that is most certainly not Barack Obama.

About the CNN blogs-
I post there successfully… more than I post here… since I figure there I am not preaching to the choir.

You may not be posted until LONG after the blog is closed. It may close at 89 comments and ultimately end with 540.

On the weekends, they will not go through and post most comments until Monday.

I think Obama has professional bloggers who hit the blogs EARLY- Eastern time. By 0900 NM time- they have been posting for 3 hours already. So…. I try to get on early. The weekends are slower- they must take a break- but you may not see your commets till monday.

I do not often use a PUMA associated name… I occassionally do use ‘for fair play’… but also:
Phantom of the Oprah
No Nos No Nos Moveran
Sheople but not the people etc.

I vary them around according to my mood.

I get posted more often than NOT.

I got on the Cafferty one today… several times…

Just gotta wait for it to show up….many hours later.

I would like to add an additional thought to the statement I already posted which was as follows: You need to understand that Clinton has to say those things. Imagine you have terrorists listening to every word you say and watching your every move. You have to send signals covertly while saying words that won’t make your captives suspicious of you.

Everyone looks at little details here and little details there and they react to the small details. But you need to step back and look at the big picture. My analogy of terrorists still stands. Under those circumstances you learn to say things that will keep the terrorists (that are watching you) happy, while secretively you make plans to escape the tyranny. Hillary is a smart lady. She knows what she’s doing and she needs us. She’s also counting on our collective intelligence to keep doing what we are doing cause it’s helping her… but she can’t say so publicly.

If you step back… her statements make perfect sense. Obama’s camp is scared… and desperate… because we are having an effect. If you were Obama and you knew you were in trouble and desperate to gain control… what would be one of the tactics you would try? Wouldn’t you think of Clinton as the leader of the PUMA’s? Wouldn’t you force her to make a public statement denouncing the movement in hopes that you could gain control again? Realize we are officially in a fight to defeat tyranny… and Hillary has to play it the game too as best as she can and as smart as she can.

#85 goandersen on 07.23.08 at 8:19 pm

#35 DancesWithPumas and in general:

I won’t believe anything till the convention is over. Hillary hasn’t said anything herself as far as I know. Even if she did, that is something she has to do. As far as I am concerned it isn’t over till the convention.

After the convention and Hillary is not nominated then I will back McCain 100% but till then, it is Hillary all the way.

She has no choice. She can’t come out and say what she really wants to say. It would kill her career … and her hopes of addressing healthcare and all the other things she wants to do for us.

***********

From your previous post … [[Guess you’ve all heard that Ms. Clinton today officially came out against PUMA: “We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.”]]

“Including PUMA” is code for “PUMA, you’re being noticed.”

***********

I know I’ve posted this several times before, but some people need cheering up again. Enjoy …

To my fellow Pumas who mourn the show of unity Hillary must now provide, I offer this …

I like to look at this as though I were a fiction writer who understands that great stories demand great conflict. Great stories demand that the heroine be continually beset with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, each one bigger and tougher than the one before it, until finally it appears that all is lost. Then, and only then, can the writer allow the heroine to emerge victorious and provide the audience with the most delicious and satisfying ending possible.

This is still Act II, dear Pumas, not Act III. And in Act II, things must still get worse before they can get better. Our heroine Hillary fought valiantly during a difficult primary season, and yet she failed to secure the nomination. So now, the plot thickens. Now our heroine Hillary must do the heretofore unthinkable and infiltrate enemy territory. It’s a more daring and precarious plan that she has undertaken before, but her options are few.

Key to her success is convincing the evil Nobama and his ilk that she supports him wholeheartedly. But her loyal Pumas know better. So do our allies in other camps. It’s a ruse. It’s a diversion. It’s 18 million cracks in a glass ceiling through which we can slip in and attack. It is a brilliant plan, dear Pumas.

Like you, I fear for our heroine Hillary in the clutches of the evil Nobama. But we must remain brave and stalwart Pumas. We must do the things that our heroine Hillary cannot do now.

Sadly, not all of us can march on Denver. Not all of us have the resources to help pay down Hillary’s debt. Not all of us are gifted at writing letters and emails. But by pooling our energies and resources, we can do great things. Together, we are invincible.

#81 maxgrader… I don’t want to think of Hillary Clinton as my “enemy”. I won’t believe it. I’ll go to my grave believing that she cares about her country, her supporters and the good of the people.

If I can’t believe in that… I won’t believe at all.

This is the second time I have ever written anything.

I have been reading the stuff that everyone has been writing for the last days and days.

Everywhere there are statements about paying down Senator Clinton’s debt and statements about making contributions.

I never see any statements about making contributions to this site. It seems to me that if everyone like this so much then they would start working just as hard to raise money for this site as they did for Senator Clinton.

I agree with your Act II analogy… also see a similar analogy posted at #84. We all need to trust in what we’re doing… stay strong… and trust Hillary… but NOT trust every statement made publicly. We have a tyranical candidate who is running and controlling the show.

Be sure to email the form and revisit every three days to hit up the next group of superdelegates. have a great evening.

#104 Amarissa on 07.23.08 at 8:31 pm

Hillary made a promise while she was campaigning. She said that if she was not the candidate, she would do everything for the “Chosen One”. She cannot fall back on her word. The issue here is that we are fighting against the DP and it’s imposed candidate. Whatever Hillary says is not a command for us to follow. We are fighting for our rights as voters. We are not voting for O no matter who asks us to. Keeping that in mind, “supposed” words by Hillary or her office will not in any way influence our commitment to not vote for an imposed unqualified leftist and fascist candidate!

[[I won’t allow my money to be used for some scheme.]]

Okay, I didn’t make it outside yet.

If you have concerns about where your money is going, donate instead to one of the causes Hillary supports.

The obscene amounts of money that were spent during the primaries did nothing to address all the problems the candidates care about. If there’s something you’re passionate about, donate to that in Hillary’s name. That’s what I did. I donated to the Red Cross disaster relief fund in her name, because I hate seeing how much people are suffering as a consequence of both natural and manmade disasters.

But then, miracously, something happens that brings me right back up. So, I take all this on a day to day basis. I do feel justice will prevail one way or another for all of us.

#116 for fair play on 07.23.08 at 8:41 pm

Hillary Clinton will get blamed for an Obama loss. That is the plain and simple truth.

Obama will never get the blame for anything. He is the one that recklessly divided the democrats with the dirty and hateful campaign tactics- he was presented as running the positive campaign/ she, the negative one.

She is the one being blamed as a spoiler for Obama, and as the divisive one for continueing her primary run. Although she has the right to take it to the convention. But this year all the rules are different.

She has to publicly advocate party unity and disavow any movement that might damage the party chances in NOV. I do not take it to heart. Her back is against the wall. But she is NEVER going to TELL people how they must vote… like Obama and his supporters are doing.

I blogged that concept- that HRC people have shown that they are not swayed by endorsements nor the media- on the Cafferty blog, but have not gone back to see it that was one of my posted comments. The Obama people seem to think she can say: vote for Obama and we will OBEY. But they are the ones easily swayed, not Hillary’s people.

I do not think the Obama followers recognize that propaganda and creating perceptions is not the same as truth. Us older folks know propaganda.

I continue to believe that BO must be stopped and will fight for my party back. Even after this year’s election.

I also, believe that Hillary will be punished if she doesn’t seem like a player. It will impact her legislation ability and political future not to mention those pols that have undying support for her.

Now… the polls looked good today, huh?

#60 maxgrader I totally understand what you are saying but i do have to believe along with the others these are things they are making her do/say . Just like the other day they made her (those words were not used but we know the truth) made her denounce that woman who is only out to support her friend. OMG I can not remember her name but we talked about it all day the other day. Now do you think Hillary would have done so unless she was pressured to do so. I don’t believe it for a moment. I knew this was coming the day we would get this big and she would have to have someone from her campaign and come out and denounce us also.

Maxgrader Of course, when asked, Hillary has to distance herself from Puma. We have all decided NOT to vote Democratic if BO is the nominee. She must appear loyal to the party. I dream that I won’t see hunger and homelessness in one of the richest countries in the world.
I dream that jobs will return to America, again.
I dream of affordable healthcare.
I dream of people who have worked hard for 50 and 60 years of their lives are treated as if they matter.
I dream of all those people losing their homes will have a miracle – that their dreams won’t be shattered at the prime of their life.
I dream that all of the children in America have an education worth something to their future.
I dream that we will not forget the elderly.
I dream that family vacations are a joy and not a disappointment.
I dream that America sees the needs of all Americans and not just those of color, wealth, ambition.
I dream of people going for quality medical care and not being treated as if they are a burden on the system and feeling ashamed that they need help from their fellow human beings.
I dream that our government is by the people and for the people.
I dream that foreign countries will have some respect for us again.
I dream that trillions of dollars of debt will be overcome.
I dream that the young people voting for “hope and change” will wake up and realize that you can’t believe in a man’s words if his past accomplishments do not reflect those words.

I am not very intelligent, highly educated, or even a highly performing member of our society, today.

I am a dreamer.

I listened to the Andy Shaw interview of Kevin Conlon at:

http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=6282893

Please correct me if I am wrong:

First, I did not hear Kevin Conlon said those words about “Hillary not wanting a fight at the convention”, Shaw “quoted it” in his article by himself.
Secondly, the way I see it, Kevin Conlon was speaking for himself and he has no authority to speak for Hillary, as he is not Hillary’s official spokesperson.

Regarding the statement” We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including Puma”.
I really have no problem with that, because Puma does support a Democratic victory just that the candidate has to be Hillary that’s all.

This website NEEDS your financial support. We raised a little over 22K in a month.

The buses are 8-12K EACH.

The ads run $1,500 to 10,000 EACH.

Billboards run $1,500 to 5,000.

We have other FANTASTIC ideas but need funds. None of us have a million dollar salary and PUMA PAC does not have big donors.

The Denver Group is doing well because their SOLE focus for funds is ADS and the CONVENTION.

Belly up to the BAR!

FYI – MURPHY, MAMAPUMA, and I are volunteers. We are not paid.

#156 MuchAdoAboutSomething on 07.23.08 at 9:18 pm

CaptJack – This site does need money. There was a discussion about whether we should pay down Hillary’s debt or send the money to PUMA. Then a report came out that unless Hillary paid down her debt the DNC wouldn’t let her name be on the ballet. I think that is when people started sending her money. Also, OB’s donors weren’t helping Hillary so many people wanted to pay down her debt so that we wouldn’t be beholding to them. As I recall.

I think the 6-10 million figure we heard about from our July efforts just seems incredible! Everyone has their sources, and I don’t think there was an intent to mislead. But this illusion may have stopped many from giving. And that harms Hillary.

I would love to be wrong about this.

Repost from downstairs (left behind again). Stairs are hard to climb.

Here’s my answer to Hillary (what matters most):

In 3 “words”: Hillary 44th POTUS

How can ANYONE believe that BO stands for Democracy? His words and actions daily betray the principles upon which our country was founded.

How can you ask me to willingly participate in the destruction of our country and of our way of life? Are you aware that US citizens lose freedoms with each passing day under his iron fisted campaign?

BO has set our country back decades in race relations and women’s rights.

We yell, yet our words fall on deaf ears.

We vote, yet our votes are overturned.

We speak, yet we are labeled as traitors, threatened, accosted, and called vile names.

I will not willingly assist in the installation of this dictator as POTUS. I choose country before Party.

You said you would fight for me. I now call upon you to honor your promise to me.

This is what matters to me most. Everything else pales in comparison.

I read over and over about everyone telling that they had just contributed to Senator Clinton’s debt. I have not read once here in the last week that anyone contributed to this site.

I love what Murphy posted this morning regarding Women Count PAC. And it is good that they are going to these BS platform meetings, some people have to participate in these token gestures from the BOites before they realize what a bunch of BS it is.

The Boites first efforts to attract women voters were manipulative and insulting, Threats about reproductive rights, Michelle’s make over and “View” appearances (all the women I know work, paid or not, when “View” is on). And then NOWs ridiculous attempt to substitute MO as the preferred victim of sexism which I guess is because the dumb asses think we PUMAs need to have a sexism victim to talk about instead of the reality of we don’t want any sexism victims. Today I was listening to KUOW, PBS radio and of course every story relates back to BO and his incredible wonderfulness. They had a woman from NOW talking supposedly about why women are leaving the workforce which amazingly turned into “BO voted for an equal pay for women just like Hillary and McCain didn’t show up to vote” story. So I guess this is their next tone deaf attempt to get to women voters. Well after BO and the DNC used sexism to force Hillary out of the race I will not be voting for BO now or ever. I am just as disgusted with old school feminism as I am with the MSM.

Hi! Don’t worry, aside from your post today I’ve seen dozens of PUMA’s w/doubts and worries about “when is Hillary going to make a statement,” etc.

I believe she could make a statement at any time – maybe even next weekend – but she won’t do it until she feels safe about doing it. She does NOT want to appear to be a party divider. She NEEDS the support of the DNC when she blows O out of the water at Convention. She MUST do what she must do, for now.

Loved the entry from the little Obamabot….

“We will be completely unopposed to right the evils of this piece of S*** we call a democracy and you horses asses are going to f***ing ruin it.”

He thinks the United States is (quoting him/her/it..) “this piece of S*** we call a democracy” and the way to fix that problem is to turn it into a fascist state. He’s not against fascism. He’s just against any opposition to his/her/its ideas. What do you expect? He’s an Obamabot. They don’t like democracy. They prefer totalitarianism. As long as they’re the ones with the control and someone a rock star type idol is telling them what to do. They’re suckers for idol-worship and mindless thinking. Lazy is what I call it. Intellectually, morally, spiritually bankrupt. Just like their leader.

The Denver Group, trying to ensure a fair convention in Denver, has made the New York Times:

The Denver Group, founded by two political novices who have been frustrated with the treatment of Mrs. Clinton since February, ran full-page ads on Wednesday and two weeks ago in The Chicago Tribune and Congressional Quarterly calling for Mrs. Clinton to be placed “in nomination” in Denver. They contend that because neither candidate has enough elected delegates to claim the nomination, Democratic Party rules stipulate that a binding roll-call vote of the superdelegates must be conducted to break the tie.

PUMA PAC has raised a little over 22K for PUMA PAC activities since June 3.

PUMA PAC also did a fund drive for HRC’s debt. Estimates of that are 6 – 10M.

This was a comment at noquarter.
Obama is the worst democratic candidate in my lifetime and that’s more years than I want to admit to.
If elected (God forbid) he will be the worst president in history.

This is from a USAF friend in Afghanistan:

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to ‘ The War Zone’. I wanted to share with you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the Americans back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don’t understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,

CPT J

The Logan Act has remained almost unchanged and unused since its passage. The act is short and reads as follows:

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

One young female soldier was standing next to him, about to talk to him, but as soon as the cameras got into the picture, he blew her off, smiled for the camera and walked away. NYT Good story on “The Denver Group”!

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/23/clinton-supporters-try-one-more-tack/
Easy post. Form at the bottom. Only asks screen name and email. 25 posts so far.

Pretty good story about Marc and Heidi and The Denver Group.

In a post on her personal blog, Professor Feldman compares being on
the ballot to throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game,
while being placed in nomination is akin to being added to the team
roster. The group is considering running advertisements to explain the
distinction.
What is clear is that some of Mrs. Clinton’s supporters are not ready
to give up the fight. The Denver Group, established in late June, has
already collected approximately $30,000, and hopes to at least double
that and buy time on CNN. Its success reflects a lingering sense among
some Democrats that party leaders are trying to block Mrs. Clinton
from the nomination.
“I don’t know which way it’ll go and neither does he,” said Professor
Feldman of Mr. Dean. “If he knew, he would just allow it to happen.”
Mr. Rubin admits that a Clinton victory in convention balloting would
be a long shot — at least 175 superdelegates would have to reverse
their public positions — but “the potential is there.”

Amarissa, I can’t stop laughing, that is a riot. What will they do to try to deter protesters? Will they put out an ad that says if you are coming to Denver plan on shitting your pants!

#259 captjack on 07.23.08 at 10:33 pm

#251 PurpleShamrock

Now I am completely confused.

If Pumapac has $6,000,000 then I was wrong.

#260 Maryland PUMA on 07.23.08 at 10:34 pm

#251 Purple Shamrock (love the name)

ZERO is available to PUMA PAC. Bundling means an organization collects from members and sends one check.

The HRC fund drive was to encourage individual PUMAs to contribute to retire her debt.

PUMA PAC is always accepting donations toward our projects.

We’re hoping for some anonymous large $ donors or that someone will pop in with a high dollar match so we can get these PUMA PAC projects rolling.

And I forgot to include the Documentary in those projects and costs.

#261 texassherry on 07.23.08 at 10:35 pm

#251 PurpleShamrock

I think you are confused about the debt payoff. I was just lurking but saw that you weren’t getting your question answered so I hope you don’t mind if I answer it for you.

The puma pac did not raise the money for Hillary through the site. Everyone donated through Hillary’s site individually.

Also the total that Will Bowers is talking about is from all of the Pro Hillary sites under Just Say No Deal not just pumapac.

I hope I explained it well enough.

#262 hillaryistheone on 07.23.08 at 10:35 pm

#274 Flowerchild2 on 07.23.08 at 10:40 pm

Sorry everyone, I am a bit in the dark, but from what I read, there’s some things being said that Hillary is against PUMA and has said so. Until I hear it from her, forget it. Some TX delegate for Obama doesn’t cut it for me. Psychological warfare is what that is. If Senator Clinton wanted to get the message out , and didn’t want to do it herself, she would send her husband. Can anyone really imagine that Bill would go along with that. He wouldn’t. He was so slick when the reporters questioned him a week or so ago about his campaigning for O. He knows what he is doing and so does he. Remember what she said the night of the MT/SD primary – - when O dragged his sorry behind across the finish lines, she said…I won’t do anything tonight, and I want my supporters RESPECTED.

#204- Thanks for posting the word from the troops. My son has done two tours in Iraq- believe me when I tell you- if the troops get no thanks from the AMERICAN politicians- they get plenty of thanks from the Iraqi people.
My son said the saddest thing he encountered over there was the ignorance. Some Iraqi’s believed there were two pipelines for oil out of Iraq- one to Israel and one to the U.S. They had no education, no understanding of geography- hence no idea that there is no way to run a pipeline to America.

I love hearing from the troops- nothing like a GI to tell it the way it is!

Shame on Obama- using our military men and women the same way he used the African American community- for photo ops and to get to his ultimate goal. SHAME!

I did a copy and paste from noquarter. This was a comment to the article by hireheels. Although off topic
(article was about Taylor Marsh) I just had to pass it on.
I am going to sent it out to a number of people-if I had my way it would be required reading for everyone.
I don’t know of any reason why we can’t send it, maybe someone here can give a better answer.

I’m not sure if I even understand just what the democratic platform IS anymore. Unless it’s “Elect a Moron” and then “tax and spend America into destitution and oblivion.” IF Hillary bails out at the convention, can you imagine how happy McCain is going to be? And I will work as hard for him as I have for her.

#307 Maryland PUMA on 07.23.08 at 10:54 pm

This should get you riled up. Sadly, one of our members reported a similar situation in her family a couple weeks ago.

Taunton, MASS: A 53-year-old wife and mother fatally shot herself soon after faxing a letter to her mortgage company saying that by the time they foreclosed on her house that day, she would be dead. Police in Taunton said Carlene Balderrama used her husband’s high-powered rifle to kill herself Tuesday afternoon, after faxing the letter at 2:30 p.m.

The mortgage company called police, who found Balderrama’s body at 3:30 p.m. in her brown-shingled raised ranch house. The auction was scheduled to start at 5 p.m. and interested buyers arrived at the property in Taunton, about 35 miles south of Boston, while Balderrama’s body was still inside, according to police chief Raymond O’Berg.

Police did not immediately release the name of the mortgage company. O’Berg said Balderrama’s fax read, in part, “By the time you foreclose on my house I’ll be dead.”

O’Berg also said a suicide note found next to Balderrama told her husband, John, and 24-year-old son to “take the (life) insurance money and pay for the house.”

Joe Whitney, who works with Balderrama’s husband, a plumber, said Balderrama handled the bills and her husband didn’t know about the foreclosure.

“John didn’t even know about it, that’s the surprise,” Whitney said told The Boston Globe. “It’s just one of those awful, awful tragic events.”

Neighbors on this forested side street said the family had lived in the two-story, brown-shingled, raised ranch for about four years.

Noreen Mendes, who lived about four houses down the street from Balderrama, said she often stopped and chatted with her. Mendes said Balderrama never mentioned any financial problems, but often spoke about repairs the family was making to their house. Two weeks ago, a contractor came to the house to give Balderrma an estimate on a roof replacement, Mendes said.

“She was just so sweet, so nice. I never realized she had any problems, so it is just shocking,” Mendes said.

It is truly sad to read about things like this. And Obie is galavanting all over Europe and the Middle East on HER tax money.

Well, there goes the blood pressure.

#308 TXPuma on 07.23.08 at 10:55 pm

Ya’ll are in the mood for a Joke!!

Near Fredericksburg, Texas, where there is a large German-speaking population, a farmer walking down a country road notices a man drinking from his pond, with his hand. The Amish man shouts: ‘Trink das wasser nicht. Die kuhen haben dahin gesheissen.’ Which means: ‘Don’t drink the water, the cows have pooped in it.’

The man shouts back: ‘I’m from New York and just down here campaigning for Obama, I can’t understand you. Please speak in English.’

The Amish man says: ‘Use two hands, you’ll get more.’

Everyone on this site contributes in whatever ways he or she can. Not all of us can afford to contribute financially, but we might volunteer many hours blogging, writing letters and emails, passing out flyers, or doing what (1) we feel comfortable doing or (2) we feel is the best use of our time and talents.

Murphy does have a link toward the top of the page for those who want to contribute. However, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Someone will be glad to help you.

Don’t get upset about not getting responses. It is a common lament here – there are sooooo many posters and the conversation happens so fast. It is not a slight in any way. I don’t get much feedback on my comments either nor do others. We just blog away merrily ;)

I can be extraordinarily clear.

My wife introduced me to this site. I am not a person who ordinarily spends my time in this way. But as a Naval Aviator, a Marine Captain, a Commercial Airline Pilot and a life long Democrat, the primary elections of 2008 have forced me to expand my horizons.

I know from every other organization that I have been involved with that if you can not raise funds then you are doomed to oblivion.

I think that this site claims to have raised million for Senator Clinton and I think that it should be bragging about raising millions for this site

Is that clear enough?

TOPIC: OPRAH

Sometimes I think Oprah takes herself too seriously.

I like Oprah a lot but lately I keep thinking, “What would I do with her Money?”

Know what I’d do??

I’d buy me a coupla BIG Media Outlets! I’d make myself the new female Ted Turner, and “Turn” things around right quick for fair reporting for all. I’d especially get rid of all the garbage advertisements like the ones showing huge SUV’s getting thrown off a cliff in some fragile ecosystem, take off almost ALL “reality” TV, get rid of the ads w/the sexist overtones.

Most delightfully the NEWS would become again a source of unbiased information the people of America could really TRUST. Instead of what it’s become, American Idol combined w/USA Today on steroids.

REAL news people could trust. Ain’t that a concept…

Our contribution to Hillary campaign to pay off her debt is not given directly to PUMA PAC, we have to do it individually. PUMA PAC and JUST NO DEAL has over 250 websites alliance, all of them ask their supporters to make donation to retire Hillary’s debt the chosen date was July 4.

What we donate for PUMA PAC is totally different from our donation to Hillary. Our donation to PUMA PAC stays within our organization to cover expenses we incur on day to day basis.

#388 pumaindy on 07.23.08 at 11:32 pm

#372 captjack

I am not trying to speak for the PAC, but I have been lurking and posting since the beginning.

There are separate ways that people who have the means can contribute to the JSND (just say no deal) coalition. These include (1) making contributions to pay down Hillary’s debt, (2) making contributions specifically to PUMA PAC, or (3) making contributions to other organizations that are part of the JSND coalition.

The talk about Hillary’s debt has been confusing. There was a push by the JSND coalition (in July) to pay down Hillary’s debt. Individuals were asked to help pay down that debt if they could afford it. This activity was independent of contributions made to PUMA PAC or any of the other JSND sites.

Did this answer your question?

BTW, a HUGE THANK YOU for serving our country. Anyone who does so is a hero in my book.

Thank you. My site is a spiritual site, but I do have a political section… and if there was interest, … well, I’ve been in contact with my programmer asking him if he could just isolate that section so I could put it on a separate web site… But I am not going to spend the money on another site if there is no interest.

But… right now, I use it when i do research… that’s how it so easy for me to post here… I take stuff from my own site and paste it here. Also, I truly think a forum can help PUMA to store stuff for easy access. Not only for posted messages but so we can contact one another. Ah well…

BTW, I sent you a Private Message from my site… hope you get it because I just moved hosting companies… so hope my email is working by now.

Newcomers sometimes don’t realize that this site has only been in existence since June 3. We’ve all come together with a common mission to support Hillary and fight the corruption we’ve seen in the Democratic process during the primaries.

This is probably very different from other organizations you’ve been part of, where people had more time and resources to pull things together.

We’ve done tremendous things in the past few weeks with volunteer effort from people all across the country and beyond. We don’t have the benefit of face-to-face meetings. Most don’t have the benefit of calling each other; we’re doing a lot over the blog.

Many here are on fixed incomes, are deeply in debt, are unemployed, or have other limitations, but we contribute what we can. Some in the group are disabled. Many are new to blogging. And yet we all find ways to make a difference in this movement.

We’re happy to have you and welcome your contributions too. But please be patient with our limitations.

Here’s an interesting piece on the clintons4mccain web site. (There’s also an interesting observation that the NY Times recently rejected an Op-Ed piece by McCain while snatching up an Op-Ed piece by you know who.)

The piece I’m pasting in is rather long, so I’ve edited it in the hopes that it won’t look too overwhelming on the blog:

Ouch! Israel National News Asks Obama to “Just Go Home” and Stop Using Their Land as a Photo-Op
An Open Letter to Barack Obama
by David Ha’ivri

We know who you are and who your friends are. Barack Obama, why don’t you just go home?

Barack, your visit here is just a waste of time; you’re not wanted or needed here. We’ll do just fine without you and you’ll probably do better with out us, too. Don’t come around here making as if you’re looking out for the good of Israel. We know who you are and who your friends are. Zigzagging back and forth about dividing or un-dividing Jerusalem won’t clear your history.

… being supported by a known Jew-hater, bigot Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who among other statements has accused the Jews of bringing on the Holocaust through cooperation with Hitler – “They helped him get the Third Reich on the road.” But, of course, it would be wrong to hold that against you, because you haven’t been rallying for his support (recently).

Your spiritual mentor is Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who has praised Jimmy Carter for denouncing Zionism. Last year, the Trumpet Newsmagazine of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Louis Farrakhan and said that he is a man who “truly epitomized greatness.”

Now you won’t go so far as to criticize Jimmy Carter, not even for meeting with the heads of Hamas, because, to paraphrase your words, “It’s not your place to criticize him.” That is, not until the next day, when you were seeking the support of Jewish leaders. Then you must have found a new place for criticism. Aren’t the Jews great for giving a guy a new vision and a sense of self-confidence? Is that what you meant by, “It’s time for change”?

Can you tell us what you mean by supporting a Palestinian State along side Israel? Do you mean a replay of the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza three years ago? Do you foresee soldiers carrying men, women and children away from their homes, which are to be demolished by bulldozers? Palestinian rule brought on the endless rocket fire on Sderot and the thousands of Jewish refugees who have yet to find permanent homes or means of a steady income. Is that your vision of a new hope that Farakkhan’s Final Call website praises you for?

Why don’t you just go home? Your visit to Israel this week is not because you’re looking out for the wellbeing of Israel and the Jewish people. You’re coming to Israel looking for the Jewish vote.

Don’t use us or our land as a photo-op to transmit a twisted call for support to Jewish-American voters. You don’t fool us. We know who you and your friends are.

Why don’t you just go home? But on the way out, remember the words you heard here from the proud Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria: “This is our land!” We are back after two thousand years of forced exile and we are not about to leave it again.

captjack, you have had more than a few people answer your question to the best of their ability. Are you angered that people chose to give money to help retire Senator Clintons debt? Again many of those same people also contributed to pumapac, myself included. I also do not feel compelled to give my resume, are you being rude? This particular site is not bragging about raising millions for senator Clinton, there is a coalition that works together, that coalition is just say no deal. The entire just say no deal coalition is bragging about paying down her debt. Most pro-Hillary, anti-Obama and just disgruntled dem groups have joined the above mentioned coalition. But to be clear pumapac is it’s own entity outside of just say no deal. Is that clear enough?

#402 captjack on 07.23.08 at 11:47 pm

#381 Wizard

Be clear on this
I have already made very significant donations to this site. I have not been here but I have cared about this cause and backed my concern with my checkbook.

But I know that it will all come to nothing if everyone does not get it into their heads that without millions this site will not succeed.

I repeat, I have already donated significant amounts of money to this site.

Here is a challenge. I will donate $1,000 tomorrow if ten other people donate #1,000.

A few choice quotes from Thomas Jefferson:

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

A free people claim their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate.

Like you I started on this site either by reading or blogging the first week – I watch people come and go and express their opinions – some good – and some not so good – but generally you can size up a blogger by the way they phrase their questions – especially if it is their first blog – if they are combative then you really wonder what their motive or objective is – people here work their behinds off behind the scenes – some research, some donate, some hand out flyers, some work on projects behind the scenes – as mentioned above by Maryland Puma – she, Mama and Murphy are not paid – everyone here are volunteers trying to do the best that each can to make a difference and put someone in the White House that can save this country – and in my humble opinion I have never seen anyone BRAG about how much they have done – its all in the spirit of team work – enough said – going to bed.

Our most powerful effort will not come from opening our checkbooks, but from opening our mouths. Our letters and emails cost very little, but they make a big dent in the overall movement.

I believe your intentions are good — really I do, but this is not the place or the way.

Most of our members are regular people who dont have lots of money laying around.

There is absolutely positively no expectation on the part of me or Puma PAC that people contribute. We are the grass-roots. We do not need lots of money. We need the daily actions of individual citizens around the country. that’s all we need.

To meet that challenge I will need for you or a person who can speak for you to pledge their $1,000 on this site to let us know. Or 10 people to pledge $100.

The reason for that constraint it to get the idea across to everyone who is a part of this site and to everyone who comes here and reads – get this straight – if you do not back this site with significant contributions in the same way that you paid down Senator Clinton’s debts – then this will fail.

i don’t think captjack is being aggressive, but i do think there’s a limited tolerance for views such as he expressed (hm, kinda like the dnc). but then, i’m a puma in exile cause i’ve said some things that seemed to have pissed people off, so what do i know. i think he’s raised legitimate ideas that one could bring up in a free democracy, no? better stop now before i use the “m” word and get banished!

Gotta say this and it is probably very corny
A year ago I was bored with life I had fallen into a serious rut and then two fabulous women entered my life the first was a 6 month old baby whose mother realized she could not care for her. I became a man by taking care of a baby. She opened up whole new worlds to me. The second was Senator Clinton– her tenacity, integrity and intelligence over the past year have inspired me.

Capt Jack…I usually don’t post what I do when it comes to money, but I gave earlier today. I understand your call for money and the impact it has. I am a CFO for pete’s sake. So, well done on the reminder and the importance of having funds.

On that note, I am in awe of the collective actions of this organization. The letter writing, the research, the flyers, the phone calls…all of it. Every bit of action helps. Even the candles.

#451 diva2 on 07.24.08 at 12:16 am

#434 Murphy,

You are absolutely right. EVERYDAY more stuff gets out about *61 and his tawdry ways. The media is FINALLY acknowledging that there are huge amounts of disgruntled Hillary supporters who are making it clear we won’t vote for their “beauty queen” and the delegates are finally realizing they may NOT have supported a sure thing in November. It is getting heated out there and we just need to move forward and keep believing…

You, mama and maryland are emulating Sentar Clinton and we are trying to follow all of you. Hillary is probably so proud of you for the grit and determination that inspries us to keep going.

Thank you
P.S. You have mail

I find it weird, too. I don’t understand how he’s rallied all these people when he really only panders to a select few. well to play devil’s advocate with myself – captjack – while money does make things happen, it’s also true that the civil right’s movement was not exactly what you’d call well-funded, yet it changed history. so who knows where all of this will go? i do think that minimizing the importance of money, however, is foolish. but making it a hard and fast requirement is likely also misguided.

and, hey, if you’re that eager to cough up a bunch of dough and murphy’s vision is more about action than money, you can always give to The Denver Group. i think they’re actively soliciting dollars for their ads.

Capt. Jack-

The money issue is something that you’re passionate about, so that’s probably your “calling” here; to give to a cause that others of us would like to give more to, but just don’t have the means. You should feel free to do what you’re passionate about, but not pressure others to do the same. We are working very hard long hours that we could spend with our families, or sleeping etc. to give what we are able. And we are making a difference. If everyone gives in every way they are able, we will not fail!

I like Lou also. Used to watch CNN constantly ever since 911… but stopped during the primaries when I noticed the media bias. One day my sister asked me to turn on Bill O’reilly show on Fox News. I couldn’t believe my eyes. CNN was purposely making Hillary look like she had heavey hips when she does not. That’s when I stopped watching CNN almost completely. I now turn it on for 20 seconds and then switch back to FoxNews.

I find Shawn Hannity biased also but he is biased against BHO so I watch him too… and more recently I like the coverage Neil Cavuto is giving Puma and Just Say No Deal.

I have heard some incredible stories on here about people’s lives. Unemployed, very sick, living on $400-$500 a month, no health insurance but desperately need it but can’t get or afford it, well you get the picture and they are here working so hard but not all by giving money. I am humbled by the stories I hear. If you have money, please help out getting people to Denver and/or help Pumas so Murphy isn’t so stressed besides being overworked or contribute your time and talents. Letter From Soldier in Afghanistan (On Obama’s Visit)

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person.

I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram, Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to “The War Zone.

I want to share with you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As Soldiers lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General.

As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball.

He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American’s back home that he is their candidate for President.

I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States.

I just don’t understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief.

It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry, but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is.

What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,
TF Wasatch
American Soldier

when I think of words like hope, change and unity I see Hillary and behind her every good and decent person in the world….marching. she looks dang good in her blue pant suit and I am dang proud to be behind her.

#526 lotts1948 on 07.24.08 at 12:52 am

Well, I just stopped in a for a few minutes; almost done with work, but I had to stay this..

for myself, even if HRC is NOT going to take it to a fight on the convention floor, even if that is her decision.. well.. and good.. that’s HER decision. But, NO MATTER WHAT… I will NOT EVER VOTE FOR NOBAMA.

If, and I am like others here.. I refuse to believe it until I hear it from her… but if she does really mean it, then we have to buckle down to what will be left as our main goal.. that is that Nobama does not win POTUS.

In the meantime, though, I simply refuse to give up on the hope that there is hope. I guess that’s the rest of the stubborn part of me.. LOL.

Hillary Donors Not Backing Obama

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 12:53 PM

Of the 311 fundraisers who bundled more than $100,000 in donations for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, only eight are on the list of contributors to Barack Obama’s campaign in June.

Their total for the month: just $19,250.

“The fact that fewer than 3 percent of Clinton’s donors have donated any money directly to Obama in his first month as presumptive nominee is likely to raise the eyebrows of some leaders in the Democratic Party who are hoping to see signs of unity,” the Huffington Post observed.

The Washington Post reported that a total of 2,200 individual Clinton donors — as distinct from the big-money fundraisers tracked by the Huffington Post — became first-time donors to Obama’s campaign in June. They contributed $1.8 million, or just 4 percent, of the $52 million the campaign raised last month.

Obama donors are evidently returning the “favor.” They gave just $105,000 in June to help Clinton repay her $25 million campaign debt, according to the Lost Angeles Times.

For the Obama campaign, the easiest way to drum up support from Clinton’s contributors is to put her on the ticket, Hillary fundraiser Susie Tompkins Buell told the Huffington Post: “The magic solution in general is the vice presidency. It heals all the wounds immediately.”

I hadn’t seen this, so sorry for posting a repeat story (and for posting gossip, when there are more important things to worry about). John Edwards apparently may no longer be a vice-presidential possibility for BO.

TOPIC: msnbc

Several of us have posted how much Olbermann offended us w/his coverage of Hillary Clinton during the primaries.

For those of you who missed it, here’s a classic. But brace yourselves, as one poster comments below the youtube video, it probably qualified as one of THE lowest moments in the primaries (or in the history of politics):

Keith Olbermann Special Comment: Clinton-Obama Assassination

This is why I think it’s so important we do a PUMA prowl on msnbc one of these days…

Man….I wrote this and then I had to type it again, My server went down

BO VP choices who do not want to be VP or who have screwed up:

T. Strickland
E. Rendell
J. Webb
H. Reid
M. Warner
W. Clark
J. Edwards

Sam Nunn has screwed up so badly
Hillary would never take it.

So that leaves

John Kerry (my choice, they can both go down together)
Chuck Hagel (the far left will disown BO for this)
Claire McCaskill (great way to lose more Hillary supporters)
Bill Richardson (very unhappy)
Evan Bayh (say goodbye to ever running with Hillary when u and BO lose)

and Colin Powell is being thrown around (He better not take the vp spot)

pretty sucky list.

Clark really like Hillary, he was an avid supporter of her through the end. I think he is a great guy, though he stooped too low by attacking McCain’s military record (not cool)

Edwards needs to do some serious suck-up to Hillary for her to pick him

Bayh would of probably been Hillary’s first choice. They are very similar and both very popular. Bayh also is very supportive of her and they get along very well. Bayh is also a midwestern moderate.

Hey Pumas, I finally got it.

Remember all those rumors about the police using a “crap cannon” to greet protestors in Denver?

Well, the story was only half right. There will indeed be a crap cannon. It was invented by the DNC and looks exactly like their presumed nominee. And everything that comes out of its northern orifice is indeed crap.

Why did it take us so long to solve this mystery?

[[ “she has made it clear she respects the nomination process and Senator Obama has won it fair and square and she will be behind him,”

I’ll believe it (maybe) when I hear Senator Clinton say it]]

I agree. That man who was interviewed was not a representative of Hillary’s campaign because she SUSPENDENED her campaign and does’t employ any representatives at this point… So I doubt whether he was speaking for her. More like he was just giving his opinion. I would have to listen again but if I recall, he merely said, I dont think Hillary wants a convention floor fight, bla bla… Meaning he is speaking for himself.

Fact remains, someone, anyone at that Convention can call for that vote…. Not sure of the rules now… but I betcha someone could do a fullabuster to do it.

My guess is that Hillary would prefer f the delegates switched their votes to her prior to the convention.

I re-post it here for those who might have missed it the first time.

~ ~ ~

From Open Letter by Sam Vaknin, PhD.
RE: Why Obama Will Be Worse Than Bush

Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist. Pathological narcissism is a reaction to prolonged abuse and trauma in early childhood or early adolescence. The source of the abuse or trauma is immaterial: the perpetrators could be dysfunctional or absent parents, teachers, other adults, or peers

In some ways narcissistic leaders are more nefarious and their effects more pernicious than psychopathic ones. They are more subtle, refined, socially-adept, manipulative, possessed of thespian skills, and convincing. Both types equally lack empathy and are ruthless and relentless or driven.

The malignant narcissist invents and then projects a false, fictitious, self for the world to fear, or to admire. He maintains a tenuous grasp on reality to start with and this is further exacerbated by the trappings of power. The narcissist’s grandiose self-delusions and fantasies of omnipotence and omniscience are supported by real life authority and the narcissist’s predilection to surround himself with obsequious sycophants.

The narcissistic leader invariably proffers an aesthetic of decadence and evil carefully orchestrated and artificial – though it is not perceived this way by him or by his followers. Narcissistic leadership is about reproduced copies, not about originals. It is about the manipulation of symbols – not about veritable atavism or true conservatism.

In short: narcissistic leadership is about theatre, not about life. To enjoy the spectacle (and be subsumed by it), the leader demands the suspension of judgment, depersonalization, and de-realization. Catharsis is tantamount, in this narcissistic dramaturgy, to self-annulment.

The narcissistic leader prefers the sparkle and glamour of well-orchestrated illusions to the tedium and method of real accomplishments. His reign is all smoke and mirrors, devoid of substances, consisting of mere appearances and mass delusions.

In the aftermath of his regime – the narcissistic leader having died, been deposed, or voted out of office – it all unravels. The tireless and constant prestidigitation ceases and the entire edifice crumbles. What looked like an economic miracle turns out to have been a fraud-laced bubble. Loosely-held empires disintegrate. Laboriously assembled business conglomerates go to pieces. “Earth shattering” and “revolutionary” scientific discoveries and theories are discredited. Social experiments end in mayhem.

Obama Calls For National Civilian Stasi

Presidential candidate wants domestic “security force” as powerful as U.S. military, columnist compares proposal to Hitler Youth

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Thursday, July 17, 2008

Presidential frontrunner Barack Obama has called for a “civilian national security force” as powerful as the U.S. military, comments that were ignored by the vast majority of the corporate media but compared by one journalist to the Nazi Hitler Youth.

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” Obama told a Colorado Springs audience earlier this month.”

http://www.prisonplanet.com/obama-calls-for-national-civilian-stasi.html

Note: I don’t know if this is true or not, but if it is, it’s kind of scary… I mean, this guy *copies* everything and anything and we STILL DO NOT KNOW WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE BELIEVES IN, he not having one single original idea in his head. It’s almost like he’s a combination of everything he has ever read. Too pleasing… to manipulative. And just well… way to phony for my liking.

His thoughts are too scattered… too random… too chaotic. Too radical… Too anti-American. Too frightening.

Oh, dear God, I surely hope so! There isn’t much time left and media bias is still a PRESSURE on Hillary to be reckoned with… but it could happen.

I WANT AN AMERICAN AS MY PRESIDENT.

And no-o-RamaDAMN aint it.

Hell, at this point, if we can’t have Hillary, I would be satisfied with an Al Gore upset.

So it’s got to be either Hillary or McCain.

He did coke for cripes sake… doesn’t anyone realize how that stuff messes up your mind, … and for years following. But you know what, from the way he and his wife are contantly touching their noses, I think he is still using.

To have him as my president would be the equivalent of me going to the bowery and asking a drunk to perform a surgical procedure on me. No way!!!

#605 Perry logan on 07.24.08 at 7:58 am

I’m worried about Obama’s “civilian national security force,” too. But I caution you about the PrisonPlanet website, which is run by an extreme right-wing conspiracy theorist named Alex Jones.

I know about Alex, because his cable TV show is on all the time here in Austin.

Alex thinks anyone who favors any form of gun control is a Nazi. He thinks the ruling elite of the world worship Moloch and can live forever. I’m not kidding!

#606 LibertyPuma on 07.24.08 at 7:59 am

Good morning Puma’s.

On Cnn last night Cafferty read some comments on; why would Hillary supporters want to derail Obama?

One Puma stated that .. Puma’s will only vote for Obama if he puts Clinton on the ticket as VP. My thoughts:

We as Puma’s share a lot of the same passions about our vote. However, we are not a collective on all views. There are Puma’s such as myself that will not vote for Bo even with Hill on the ticket as vp. Let us all be aware that when we speak in a public forum we respect all puma’s views and that we do not leave a false impression. I am sure this was not ill intended. So, thank you Puma for getting your comment on CNN. The public really needs to hear from us.

#60 maxgrader on 07.23.08 at 8:05 pm, WROTE,

[[ Guess you’ve all heard that Ms. Clinton today officially came out against PUMA: “We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.”]]

Nothing is *official* unless it comes from her lips. So if it doesn’t don’t believe it. (period).

Even Wolfson, who was her campaign manager is now a BHO spokeman… so there is no one who speaks for her now, except she herself.

[[ I’m not in the least bit affected by her statement. Nothing much about Ms. Clinton reflects my principles anymore.]]

Not her statement.

[[ However, regarding efforts to pay off her debt, which by the way I’m not an advocate for, I read some piece by a certain Tom Christopher (don’t know him, but he sounds like a twit reporter) saying that a spokesperson for the Clinton campaign claims they haven’t seen a cent from any PAC group.]]

That would be the truth, because the limit is $2,300 per person, so there is no way a PAC can donate large sums of money unless it is bundled.

[[ Justsaynodeal.com says $10 milion was raised to pay off her debt; about 5 million is left.]]

Sorry to say, there is just no way for Will Bowers to make that claim. Same as here… any of us posting can click on a Hillary link and donate to her, but there is no way to TRACK it. So it would show up as individual donations and no way to tell where it came from.

[[ However, according to the FEC, Clinton only raised $2.7 million in June, vs. $5.4 million in new spending.

A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign had this to say:

“As far as we know, that $10 million is a fallacy. We have not seen that money. It is our understanding that these groups provide links to our website, and there is no way to track which sites those donations come from. We have received no donations from the PAC.”]]

I would accept the above statement as nearer to the truth.

Note: When I donate to the Hillary Campaign their isnt even a comment box to make comments like, I am a puma member… so the only thing that gets recorded are our names, addresses, telephone numbers, cc account, and dollar amount.

There is no way to track a puma.

You would need special software and special links to track through a specific site… and THAT just is not happening.

Will Bower, like our Murphy is to be commended for his efforts, yet I for one do not believe everything he says, because often he is just making statements on the fly without any *real* knowledge on the topic.

His word is not golden, and should not bet taken on face value… but questioned the same way we would question any one, if we needed clarification.

All of the above, IMHO

63% Say Trip Does Not Make Obama More Fit to be President
Wednesday, July 23, 2008

While Barack Obama has touted his travel to the Middle East and Europe this week as a “fact-finding” trip, 63% of Americans do not believe it makes the Democratic candidate any more qualified to be president.

A new Rasmussen Reports national survey, taken Monday night, also finds that less than a third (32%) think Obama will learn from his trip to Iraq. Forty percent (40%) say his mind is already made up about policies to deal with the war there. The Democrat has been accused by liberals in his party of softening his long-standing opposition to the war in Iraq in an effort to appeal to more moderate voters.

Obama on Tuesday at a press conference in Jordan defended his plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq over a 16-month period. Gen. David H. Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, with whom he met, opposes a timeline of any kind, but Obama said more forces are needed in Afghanistan. He outlined these positions in the days prior to his visit to Iraq.

The partisan divide is clear throughout the new survey. The responses of self-designated Democrats and likely Obama voters generally mirror their candidate’s actions and positions, although at times very narrowly. Republicans and likely voters for John McCain support the GOP candidate much more emphatically.

For example, while 74% of Republicans say it is not right for a candidate to make political statements contrary to government policy while in a war zone, only 40% of Democrats disagree. Nearly as many Democrats (38%) agree with the overwhelming majority of Republicans, as do 50% of unaffiliated voters.

In a separate survey this week, 45% said Obama is too inexperienced to be president. This number has risen from 41% over the past week. But the same number — 45% — believe the Democratic candidate does have the necessary experience.

More good news (I never thought I’d be rooting for a Republican, what a strange election cycle):

McCain Opens Modest Lead in Ohio
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

John McCain has opened a modest lead over Barack Obama in the key swing state of Ohio. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the Buckeye State shows McCain attracting 46% of the vote while Obama earns 40%. Last month and the month before McCain held a insignificant one-point lead over Obama.

Seven percent (7%) of voters say they’d prefer a third party candidate over either McCain or Obama and another 7% remain undecided.

When “leaners” are included in the totals, McCain leads Obama 52% to 42%.

McCain is now viewed favorably by 57%, little changed from a month ago. Obama gets favorable marks from 50% of the state’s voters, down three points from June but up three points since May.

Howdy. Yeppers. Any tracking software would work similar to, oh, let’s say Amazon, or GoogleAdsense, or something like LinkShare. Then, each site would have to have installed a special REFERENCE CODE linking back so that data can be tracked and traced.

But to me it is such a simple bit of logic.

Since Hillary suspended her campaign on June 7th and lost to BHO on the 3rd and 4th due to the supers… There is just no way in hell that special links would have been provided even if it were possible.

Thing is, … I don’t think the Hillary Campaign ever had special software to track doner sites.

This may seem out of place here… but Will Bower needs to shave and dress more appropriately before he goes before media cameras. And if media is following him around… (which I doubt)… more likely he is inviting them… Well, now, what can I say, on that last video, they made him out to be non-reliable at the end just by mentioning that he was going into a bar to meet his buddies. Not a good image… not good at all.

He is not being taken seriously.

But the Denver Group is.

Even Murphy’s Puma PAC organization is not being taken seriously… not because of Murphy or this site, but simply because Will Bowers and others are still using the phrase Party Unity My Ass.

It is a phrase that holds no respect!

Voter Unease With Obama Lingers Despite His Lead
Poll Finds Background, Experience
Are Advantages for McCain
By GERALD F. SEIB and LAURA MECKLER
July 24, 2008; Page A1

WASHINGTON — Midway through the election year, the presidential campaign looks less like a race between two candidates than a referendum on one of them — Sen. Barack Obama.

With the nominations of both parties effectively settled for more than a month, the key question in the contest isn’t over any single issue being debated between the Democrats’ Sen. Obama or the Republicans’ Sen. John McCain. The focus has turned to the Democratic candidate himself: Can Americans get comfortable with the background and experience level of Sen. Obama?

This dynamic is underscored in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. The survey’s most striking finding: Fully half of all voters say they are focused on what kind of president Sen. Obama would be as they decide how they will vote, while only a quarter say they are focused on what kind of president Sen. McCain would be.

The challenge that presents for Sen. Obama is illustrated by a second question. When voters were asked whether they could identify with the background and values of the two candidates, 58% said they could identify with Sen. McCain on that account, while 47% said the same of Sen. Obama. More than four in 10 said the Democratic contender doesn’t have values and a background they can identify with.

Those findings suggest voters’ views of Sen. Obama are more fluid than his relatively steady lead indicates. In the latest poll, 47% say they prefer Sen. Obama to win, while 41% say Sen. McCain, the same lead Sen. Obama enjoyed a month ago. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Barack Obama’s Fundraising Hypocrisy—a Lobbyist by Any Other Name…
July 21, 2008 12:24 PM ET | Bonnie Erbe

The latest campaign finance figures show Sen. Barack Obama’s pledge not to take money from lobbyists is a distinction without a difference.

He clobbered Sen. John McCain in fundraising last month, netting more than twice the amount of money raised by his rival. From Bloomberg:

Obama took in $51.9 million in June, including $1.4 million from a joint fundraising committee with the Democratic National Committee, while McCain reported raising $21.5 million, including $5.1 million from his fundraising effort with the Republican National Committee.

But consider whence much of Obama’s money comes. While donations to his campaign are not accepted from lobbyists per se, they are proffered by corporate executives. These same executives face a mountain of federal issues on which they will most surely need Obama’s help, should he win the White House in November. So what’s the difference?

To wit. Bloomberg reported that donors to Obama’s joint fundraising committee included Jay Grinney, president and chief executive officer of Birmingham, Ala.-based HealthSouth Corp., who gave $10,000, and Donald Thompson, U.S. chief of Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp., who gave $28,500, the maximum.

As I’ve noted before, Sen. Obama’s fourth-largest corporate donor is Exelon, the nation’s largest provider of nuclear power.

Did he take donations straight from the pockets of the company’s lobbyists? No. But did he accept largesse in the amount of more than a quarter million dollars from Exelon’s CEO and top executives? Yes. In the process, he watered down to oblivion an antinuclear amendment he had sponsored, originally to force nuclear power producers to report even the most negligible of radioactive leaks. He then went on to tell mesmerized campaign audiences he had “passed” his antinuclear bill, which never passed the U.S. Senate.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign disinvited Democratic war hero and former Sen. Max Cleland to appear at an Obama event in Atlanta earlier this month. Why? Sen. Cleland is a registered lobbyist.

John McCain openly accepts lobbyists’ donations. And some voters find that as much of a conflict (because Senator McCain has his name attached to the most important campaign finance reform bill of the last two decades.) The difference between McCain and Obama on this issue is McCain has never pledged not to take lobbyists’ donations. He has only pledged to fight to make the process as transparent as possible.

I must say I am very bummed today after hearing on this blog the Hillary Camp statement that she is not behind any anti-democrat organizations including PUMA. I am so hurt today! After all we have been fighting and doing for her. I know it has not come from her lips – but still – I know she probably has to say it – but still.

Man, I can’t stand this guy and his cronies! How on earth did they manage to pass this guy off and then convince millions of people that he was the “one”……

WTF is wrong with everyone! He is the most UNAMERICAN Candidate I have EVER seen. This is a f….g joke!

Cosmeta and LibertyPuma, I have also felt some unease with Will’s representation. I do think he is well-spoken and passionate. He has a kind of “happy warrior” persona that is compelling.

But I’m very concerned about pronouncements about Hillary’s debt that are hearsay. That is reckless and unfortunately may have caused supporters to stop donating. Our first rule should certainly be to Do No Harm to Hillary.

Let’s keep on giving what we can.

Dear Prowlland,

With repsect. Why change one demi-god for another? Of course we should be aware of how donations are handled. This should be very transparent. We trusted our party and look at what happened? I am not saying we should be paranoid. I am saying that we have the right to know that when we contribute to a cause..it is for that cause. I would hate to think that people who can not pay thier bills are being ripped off of what funds they manage to donate. This is a fair assertion. And one that should have no shame in requesting.

Help us out today, we only sent out around 12,000 emails to superdelegates yesterday from PDOP’s email initiative. After the first week of consistently rising numbers, that is lowest total yet. I will be spending much of the day spreading the link and am working out a deal to allow other sites to place the javascript for form on their websites. But help us, help you by spreading the word on other sites and through the email the post to friends option at the bottom of the form.

The email generator was updated with new Supers yesterday and will be updated again Saturday Morning.

I recieved this message today

NY Times – The Denver Group. This is what PUMAs are Fighting For!

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/23/clinton-supporters-try-one-more-tack/

Please take the time to read this from today’s NY Times. The work of Heidi Li Feldman and Marc Rubin cannot be understated. The subject of contributing to retire Hillary’s debt vs. Denver has been brought up extensively here, and on various blogs and websites.
Facts: Our main goal is to put pressure on the Superdelegates and the DNC to PUT SEN. HILLARY CLINTON’S NAME ON THE NOMINATING BALLOT AS A VIABLE CONTENDER FOR THE DELEGATES TO VOTE FOR. A STATE BY STATE ROLL CALL WILL ENSUE. We do not want a symbolic gesture………….that WILL NOT DO.
We are witnessing a coronation of a presumptive nominee who is NOT going to Denver with enough ELECTED delegates to secure the nomination. Henceforth, the Superdelegates CAN STILL SWITCH THEIR VOTES BACK TO SEN. CLINTON. EVER HEAR OF BUYER’S REMORSE?
That is our hope….AND WHAT YOUR ACTIONS MIGHT ACCOMPLISH, if only perchance to dream.

With regard to debt, YES, Hillary still has debt. It is your choice as to whether you would like to contribute to reducing it further * great job already*, OR, contribute to The Denver Group, to facilitate their media buys which are TRES expensive, but GARNERING A LOT OF ATTENTION.
THANK YOU, PUMAs!
You are ALL EXTRAORDINARY.

A complaint has been filed to get Obama disbarred for lying on his bar application (about his known drug use).

http://tinyurl.com/5gemd4

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Press Release) – Jul 23, 2008 – CHICAGO, Illinois – Anonymous announced that they have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney
Registration and Disciplinary Commission requesting an investigation into false statements and misrepresentations Barack Hussein Obama made on his own bar application. The group cited information, which if true, would be grounds for disbarment. Anonymous accuses Mr. Obama of using illegal drugs and then concealing his drug use by lying about it on his bar application. Either action could be an independent basis for disciplinary action against the Presidential nominee. The group
claims that an investigation would identify facts that demonstrate Obama has engaged in conduct which brings the courts or the legal
profession into disrepute, engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice, and engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.

Good Morning PUMAs.

Here’s the latest from Rasmussen Reports.
Thursday, July 24, 2008
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 41%. When “leaners” are included, it’s Obama 48% and McCain 45% (see recent daily results).

656, I agree with you. We need to be very careful what we say about Hillary’s debt.

#679 emme on 07.24.08 at 9:40 am

Just completed yesterday’s Prowl. I know it’s late, but didn’t get a chance yesterday.

Haven’t had a chance yet today to catch up on posts, so don’t know if anyone is addressing this…I am REALLY disturbed about Obama having face-to-face meetings with world leaders and committing to do this or that if he is elected POTUS. Is that legal? Is there anything WE can do to draw attention to this outrage? He is NOT our President and DOES NOT represent the United States! What is he doing? Campaigning to be for President of the world???

Sorry, I’m usually pretty quiet, but this has me soooo outraged.

#681 Wizard on 07.24.08 at 9:43 am

Good Morning Pumas –

As it seems we are doing daily – I will unless someone has done so up above and have not read it yet – Rasmussen today shows NO NAME Ahead by 1% in Florida – how could that be – and up by 12 % in Minn -
He has 45% Nationally and McCain 41% – yet TODAY they show him 55% Favored and McCain 54% – reason I don’t believe in polls they change daily like your underwear — LOL

#682 ladyhawkke on 07.24.08 at 9:44 am

#655 MIMi I’m getting totally disenchanted with this whole thing about trying to help Hillary and then to say that. Where is the link to that story before I go nuts? I don’t mind her saying that she doesn’t support PUMAs but I do mind her stating that we are anti-democratic. Also, her insistance that she doesn’t want a floor fight at the convention. I say, Bring it on!

Hi,

I emailed the superdelegates late last night. In addition, I’m waiting until this afternoon to email the third and last round. You are right about being consistent and sending these emails.

Thanks for the info about the WP/NBC bias in their polling data.

Have a great day Pumas!

Great News – Lets hope they DO the investigation and that he doesn’t go running and pay them a lot of money to shut them up – like is the usual practice with Loser.

Trish. John West and Michele Thomas are our people working on the superdelegate count. If you want more info on that, I can put you in touch with them.

I REALLY have a gut felling she had him in Canada…because he was only 3 weeks old when she was visting that friend…i think she came back to Hawaii and got a after the fact BC. which would make him naturlized…if im not mistaken

#692 Wizard on 07.24.08 at 9:54 am

OK – will try this one more time and then I will become a lurker from now on instead of a poster – every time I type anything more than three lines – it does not post and takes me off the screen -

Yes, Drac, survived the storm – sent you back an email but bounced back to me something wrong with gmail again?

#693 Will Bower on 07.24.08 at 9:56 am

Cosmeta. I’ve always said that the money raised was by the PUMA *Movement* as a whole — and not any single group or outfit — based on the increase in funds gathered by HillaryClinton.com those days leading into the Fourth of July… as happening simultaneously with the Fourth of July drive in which so many of us participated.

How can I make that claim? It comes to us from two separate sources that we’ve been trusting for awhile now… and who have been accurate in the information they’ve given us thus far.

And OpenSecrets backs up these sources by showing that the campaign does now at least have more cash-on-hand than it has debt.

#694 Will Bower on 07.24.08 at 9:58 am

Cosmeta. The whole CNN story was -built- around all of us being casual and having drinks. That was what got Mark Preston’s notice in the -first- place. His stories are about situations where politics meets real life. Hence my PUMA T-shirt and the Cosmo’s. The story wouldn’t have happened had it -not- been a cocktail event.

#695 Will Bower on 07.24.08 at 10:01 am

And say what you will about “Party Unity My Ass” as a phrase, but it is a huge reason why we have been getting as much press as we have been. That single phrase has opened up many a media door for us and has served *everyone* in the coalition.

#696 Will Bower on 07.24.08 at 10:01 am

As for my not shaving… When FOX News invited me in for my first appearance — on June 9th — I could have shaved first. I looked into the mirror and made a conscious choice -not- to. It’s my own, small, personal PUMA statement if you will. I keep it short and close to the face… but it reminds me that I -am- a PUMA each time a look in the mirror. :)

#697 mimi1020 on 07.24.08 at 10:02 am

I read this information on this blog and now I cannot find it. That HRC is not backing Puma and something to the effect that she is not for anything that is against the Democratic party.

Where can I find this…. Please… Anyone, A few of us are asking…. Where can we get this article?

Will – you are doing an amazing job, It doesnt matter to me one bit whether you shaved or not or whether you were having a drink or not – Who Cares – the movement is here, it’s real and you have pushed and fought to get PUMA media attention.

Thank you for all you do.

A well written rebuttal to BO’s recent use of the race card against Republicans:

GOP unfairly branded racist
By DOUGLAS MACKINNON | 7/24/08 5:11 AM EST

I am a Republican and conservative who finds much about Barack Obama to admire. I am also a Republican and conservative who spent my formative years growing up in abject poverty and being homeless a number of times. During that time, I often lived in majority black neighborhoods and was many times the only white child in class.

When asked what, if any, positives I took away from that time, I always say, “my immersion into black America.” To me then, to me now, and to me always, black America is a great America. To this day, I feel more comfortable with that community than anywhere else.

It is for that reason and more that I was so disappointed with Obama’s recent comments regarding Republicans and race. At a fundraiser in Florida before a majority African-American audience, the senator said, “We know what kind of campaign [Republicans are] going to run. They’re going to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. ‘He’s young and inexperienced, and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?’”
