From time to time I would get an email when Hillary was running from Teens for Hillary (although I am not a teen and don’t know how I got on their email list). Today I got the following message and wanted to share this with everyone.

I write to you today with an urgent message of hope, real hope, not the false hope the Obama campaign portrays. Yesterday, 12 Committed Obama Superdelegates announced that they are switching sides again, and are now supporting Sen. Hillary Clinton for President! Even more exciting news, 6 more Committed Obama Superdelegates are scheduled to announce that they are also switching to Hillary on Friday. This means, that Hillary will be only 12 delegates away from Obama’s current total; meaning we only need 12 more delegates between now and the convention, and Hillary WILL WIN THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION during the floor vote!
At no time in the history of the Democratic party has a nominee so largly ahead in votes been strongarmed out of a race before the nominating convention. Going to the convention is a right that every candidate has whether they have a million votes or 18 million. We are incensed that party insiders are tampering with the process, with the overt help of a biased media, to shut down the process and nominate a grossly inexperienced and unqualified candidate for the presidency, before the convention. Superdelegate endorsements are only valid at the convention. Pledged delegates may even change their minds in the face of persuasive information.
Time and time again we proved the pundits wrong. After Barack Obama ‘won’ the Democratic nomination, the news media expected a huge number of Hillary’s Superdelegates to jump ship for Obama, that did not happen. It is now clear, the opposite is happening. They have come to their senses.
They realize that Obama is not the real candidate of change. They have now seen the many faces of Obama. His flip-flop on Iraq, and how he is now saying ‘I will make an informed decision once I access what is really going on there.” His flip-flop on accepting public-financing. His bitter-gate comments to donors in San Francisco. His ties to racist radical leaders like Jeremiah Wright; and his close friends and fundraisers who are convicted terrorists like William Ayers.
We are 18 Million strong. 18 Million strong who voted for Sen. Hillary Clinton because we know she’d be ready to lead on day one! She has over 35 years experience, fighting for families, fighting for working class citizens, fighting for us. Compared to just 3 years in the U.S. Senate, largely spent running for president, and voting ‘present’ instead of a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on difficult issues like abortion, crime, and guns, which is what you’ll get if you vote for Barack Obama.
Hillary supporters, now is our time! We are still in this! Neither candidate, Obama nor Clinton, has enough delegates to secure the nomination. The only determinate power that has decided that Obama is the presumptive candidate is the Rules and Bylaws Committee. I watched every moment that the meeting was publicized. Unfortunately, the determining “decision” was completed behind closed doors. The determinate factor was, “these are the rules”. It was a sleazy move after saying it would be an open process, and many noticed. It was a sleazy move after making such a fuss about ‘every vote counts, and many noticed. It was a sleazy move, especially when Donna Brazile said after the 2000 election debacle; “As Chair of the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute, I was astounded to learn just how dysfunctional our electoral system has become and why this is a serious impediment to successful elections for Democratic candidates at all levels. It’s time for Democrats to get smart about election administration and take an active role in cleaning up laws and adopting new ones to protect every citizen’s right to vote.” Many noticed. Rules are not laws. If the Democratic Party is so intent on following the rules, then why not uphold the declarations in the Declaration of Independence, “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. And then the decision was summarily dumped on the American people.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign to win the nomination of the Democratic Party won her more votes than any candidate in primary history. Senator Clinton represents 18 million voters. These voters have the right to vote for the candidate of their choice on the floor of the convention. They have the right to hear their elected delegates call out the name of their preferred candidate, and have them counted! They have the right to stand up to the Rules Committee and declare their actions fraudulent. This is the only way to right the wrong committed by the ‘behind closed doors’ coup of the DNC, or by the DNC.
The importance of this cannot be understated. We either live in a Democracy, where every vote counts, or, the DNC needs to gather its character together and proclaim that Democracy in the DNC is no longer existent, and that only elected officials rule. The American voter is no longer relevant.
This precedent, once set, will forever alter the landscape of the United States as it is a flagrant disregard for the Constitution. The ramifications will be felt way beyond this election cycle. And I think they will be significant.

Many who are hell bent on electing Obama through back door, strong armed tactics, see those who oppose an Obama coronation as just “sore losers, middle aged women who know no better”. They want me, and others that feel as I do to “just get over it! Your must be a Republican! There is no way are you a Democrat! You are destroying the Party and our nation!” I can’t in good taste tell you all the things I have been called when I have expressed my reservations about the process as it unfolded. But, the DNC stole our guaranteed right to have our votes count equally.
The DNC should not have bowed it’s integrity to the Obama lawyers to prevent the seating of two full states, until Obama was seemingly guaranteed the nomination. And now we are supposed to be so impressed that he, Obama, not the DNC, will allow Florida and Michigan to participate in the Convention, maybe even fully! The DNC should have showed some character! And it did not. It did not.
The DNC does not realize that we, who are hell bent on NOT supporting this DNC coup, see what is actually happening. We base this dissent on the exact wording in the Declaration of Independence. “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. That means counting all the votes. The DNC forgot and dismantled that declaration with its behavior. It dismissed the voters. Well, we didn’t miss it, and we will not forget. I will gladly throw away my 40 years of voting Democratic right down the line, to resist these Chicago strong arm, covert tactics.
This is just not something I will “get over”. I am not woo-able. I cannot be cajoled or shamed. I will not be silent and I will not behave. I will speak as openly and as loudly as I can to try to take back our Democratic Party and our Democracy. I will not wane from this endeavor. I will not be afraid. It is entirely too important. As Howard Dean once said: “The first thing we have to do is stand up for what we believe in.”

Just brought in the paper and it gets me so upset, on the front page it says events swirl in obamas favor. My paper is for obama but my husband won’t let me cancel, its the ST Petersburg times.
Something happened to Obama on the way to the bank with his June Campaign Funds. He announced that he raised $52 million, but only $28 million showed up at the FEC. Yes, he closed May with $43 million and now closes June with $71 million. Go figure.

CNN Reporters: Obama “Presumptuous” & Negotiations Overstep His Authority As A Senator
I just want something to happen soon where he is out and Hillary is in, I would love the DNC to go begging her to come back with there tail between there legs.
Those Totals aren’t accurate on Delegate donations. The Center for Responsive Politics (opensecrets.org) reported at the end of February that Obama had contributed more than $700,000 to Supers and Clinton $235,000. Those were contributions made through Obama’s PAC and Senatorial Campaign Committee. There was also a flurry of articles at the beginning of March on Huffpo and other sites about the donations. I can also tell you that I have looked over the latest quarterly for Obama’s pac and there haven’t been any donations since the stories were ran at the end of February. But my guess is that some of Obama’s supporters made some pretty hefty contributions to Supers campaigns back in April & May.
I heard on fox someone figured out that the new spot in Germany for Ob’s speech may not be good idea. This is a Hitler spot that he put there for winning over France,Austria and Denmark.

I am not sure I understand your comments about my post #34. Obama was projected to bring in $100 Million in June. His Campaign announced $52 million, but did not qualify it as gross or net. If it was any kind of a valid number it was gross, because the net amount that he ended up with is $28 million. That is way below expectations.
It also explains why he did not make good on his committment to get Clinton’s debt payed off. He can’t. I suspect that any Republican funding he was getting has dried up. And he will probably do worse in July with the supporters he has because of his flip-flops. Watch and see.

I don’t know if anyone saw Nightline (I watched it because I wanted to know ‘has anything changed with this guy?’)
They had an “Obama exclusive interview from Iraq”.
First, ABC treated the interview so “presidential” IMO.
Next, he acted like his campaign didn’t leak the Iraqi leader comment about withdrawal.
Third, it appears to me that anytime he is interviewed the interviewer’s questions (no matter how gentle) are
far more substantive than his answers – BO cannot seem to answer a question without stumbling around.
Fourth, I never learn anything when he speaks, debates or has a one-on-one interview.
Finally, ‘has anything changed with this guy?’ No.
What ha changed is this. The closer he gets to the WH, the more I feel disconnected from the country I live in.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 43% of the vote while John McCain earns 42%. When “leaners” are included, it’s Obama 46% and McCain 46% (see recent daily results). McCain is viewed favorably by 57% of voters, Obama by 55%. Tracking Polls are released at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day.

Forty-nine percent (49%) of voters believe that most reporters are trying to help Obama win the election while only 14% believe reporters are trying to help McCain. Other data shows that voters tend to think reporters are trying to make both the economy and Iraq seem worse than they really are. In a video commentary, Scott Rasmussen notes that this data suggests “voters are looking at reporters in the way reporters want us to look at Wikipedia.” They provide “a nice reference point, but ultimately you have to check out the facts for yourself.”

I’ve always wondered if I were in pre nazi Germany, would I have seen what was happening, or if it was so subtle I wouldn’t have realized until it was too late, I know I wouldn’t have been one of the crazed followers. Anyway, more and more, I’m afraid we are experiencing this in our time in our homeland. This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers, as they lived only 90 years ago. It was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.
The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’
They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.
Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.
For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
So, refresh my memory. Some women won’t vote this year because–why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn’t matter? It’s raining?
Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO’s new movie ‘Iron Jawed Angels.’ It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.
All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.
One thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie… What would those women think of the way I use–or don’t use–my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.
HBO released the movie on video and DVD. I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum. We are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order. It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn’t make her crazy.
The doctor admonished the men: ‘Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.’
Please, if you are so inclined, pass this on to all the women you know.
We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party – just do it.
P.S. Five months ago I complained to the corporate office of a well-known drive through fast-food chain about an employee’s response to my complaint that the lid on my drink was loose and spilled in the car.

He Must Come Bearing Gifts

Obama must do more to gain women’s vote than to simply tell us that he is the least of two evils. He must come bearing gifts! I am not talking about candy and flowers here. He has to make up for the loss of a woman president in our lifetimes. I am proposing the list of gifts he must bring:
1) Based on the general population, four or five Supreme Court Justices should be women. So–Obama must promise that all his appointments to the Supreme Court will be pro-choice women.
2) Howard Dean (the mute DNC Chair) must be replaced with a woman chair, who will not sit back quietly while sexist attacks are levied against women candidates in primaries.
3) Super delegates must reflect gender equality. Closely contested elections should not be decided by a predominantly male body of super delegates. (Keep in mind that super delegates are composed mostly of elected officials–that are overwhelmingly male).
4) We must correct the inequities in the Democratic Primary system.
a) Caucuses are not Democratic. Attendance is low because many voters cannot devote two evening hours voting. As it stands, anyone who does not show up and stay to the end of a caucus does not get a vote. And who is most likely to have a conflict with these evening times? Women, of course! They are more likely to be caring for their children. When caucuses were set up, politics was a predominantly male game. Men didn’t have to worry because their wives were putting the children to bed. Come on, Democrats and move into the twentieth century. We should be making voting easier and more accessible, not continuing with arcane, restrictive and sexist traditions.
b) Caucuses have open (i.e. public) voting where the women are often intimidated by the men. In a secret ballot women can vote their consciences. We still live in a sexist society; and people should not be intimidated by public votes.
5) Many misogynist Republicans and other conservatives crossed over to vote in the Democratic primaries. In fact Obama counted on these. He didn’t want a re-vote in Florida or Michigan, because the Republicans had already voted. If we ever get another woman candidate who can make a serious bid for the Presidency, misogynists from other parties should not determine the Democratic candidate. The Democratic Party is over two thirds women and our effect should not be diluted by the primary/caucus process. When there is work to be done, when there are close votes, women are the backbone of the Democratic Party. When there are close races, it is women that make the difference for Democrats. When it comes to choosing the Democratic nominee, women’s votes must be represented proportionally.
Before women have another opportunity for the presidency, there should be a level playing field. In case we get another chance, we need assurances that this misogynist sleight-of-hand won’t happen again. Obama must bear these gifts. Then we can talk.
Once we see what happens at the Convention, then this PAC should resolve itself with a strong platform for democracy and equality. Make it a Political Action Commitee that stands for the rights of all citizens. I’ve already told all you before that you are stronger than you think! You are being listened to by millions. Make candidates come to YOU!! Make endorsements, support candidates, set standards for commitments, etc. I bet the Press will listen then AND EVERY candidate that wants to succeed.
I went to the FEC website to look at BO’s numbers for June. Seems he raised nearly half his monthly take on the last day of the month. This statement is under it though, and I’m not understanding what it means. Could someone here decipher it for me?

When I was checking out her and her daughter, there are many articles stating her “socialistic” views for changing our government. She wants the DNC to be in charge of your daily lives AND your children’s future. Sounds too limited, almost corporate. If we, the people, picked one sponsor to send boycott letters to per day, I think we would cover more bases and be more effective. A combination of both ideas would also work.

Despite taking in $52 million in June 2008 alone, presidential candidate Barack Obama received only $19,250 from major Hillary Clinton donors.
From a list of 311 ‘Hillraisers’ who brought in more than $100,000 each for Clinton, only eight contributed to Obama’s campaign in June, according to the Huffington Post.
Fewer than 3 percent of Clinton’s top donors have given any money to the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Lynn, Lady de Rothschild, one of Clinton’s biggest supporters, has started a web site that aims to place Clinton’s name into the nominating process at the convention. Lady de Rothschild, like many Hillraisers, is reluctant to support Obama.
Clinton’s campaign owes vendors more than $12 million, and raised $2.7 million from donors in June to pay off its debts. To date, Clinton has loaned her own campaign $13.2 million.
During the same month, Republican candidate John McCain raised $21.5 million. However, in June, McCain’s campaign spent $27 million while Obama’s spent $25.6 million.
Brendan Daly, a spokesman for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, told the San Francisco Business Times that Rep. Pelosi “thinks that we are coming together.”
“I’m not sure you can measure just by donor support,” he said. “In terms of polling, the rank and file members of the party are uniting behind Obama.”
I think, IMHO, that a letter writing campaign against advertisers on MSM, stating we are boycotting their products in protest of MSM’s biased coverage of Psychobama, as well as encouraging others to do so, might have an affect on MSM.
I know we don’t officially endorse any campaign/canidate but it would be very interesting to see some kind of online vote here at the PUMA site. I’m curious to see what kind of action were going to be taking this November.

I was surprised when I watched Obama’s presser that he called on reporters instead of honoring their raised hands. CONTROL.

Based on the wording of Ms Gardner’s proposals, Oblahma could install 5 Margaret Thatchers to the Supreme Court, or replace Dean with a Nancy Pelosi, or a Donna Brazile. We don’t need women who have internalized sexism and are as sexist against women as their male counterparts.
#201 Antifish – while researching yet again the sd’s – found a link that I will have to try and go back and find again where a superdelegate from Los Angeles area in California had fundraisers with his partner for BO and raised $500,000 or more – don’t quote me on the figure – but staggering – will have to try and find the link in Google – I think that is what is happening since there is a limit to the amount as we know that you can donate – but you can have a fundraising event and get a lot like above.

I did, however, call my Senator Bill Nelson from Florida and told the receptionist that Obama needs to be censured and that Nelson should not be supporting him. Placing Senator Clinton’s name in nomination will not “embarrass” her. This woman endured months of abuse by virtually every media outlet, while her own party ignored and even encouraged the attacks. She is

The only way to embarrass Senator Clinton would be to relegate her to vice-presidential status beneath an arrogant and absurdly under-qualified candidate. I sincerely doubt that she would accept such an offer.
Despite blatant DNC bias, media bias, and caucus voter fraud, neither candidate received the necessary 2118 votes during the primary season. Senator Clinton has 1639.5 votes and Senator Obama has 1766.5 votes. No one can win the nomination until you and the 822 other superdelegates vote at the convention next month.
As a Hillary supporter and endorser, why do you allow yourself to be bullied by a select group of anti-Clinton DNC members? Please help make sure that Senator Clinton DOES have the votes in Denver. I understand the political pressure you are under, but perhaps you should reconsider your priorities. We are drowning in national and international problems, and Senator Clinton is the ONLY candidate (in either party) intelligent enough to handle them. In what sense does a fair nomination process entail “wasting time” and “agonizing over nothing”?

As in who do I trust to run this nation? Obama has lied and manipulated his way into the position he holds. We don’t really know what he stands for: He changes that on a daily baisis. When someone does that, they are not trustworthy.
If we are not able to force the DNC to place Hillary’s name in nomination, I have no choice but to vote for McCain. I don’t like his policies and the direction he would take the country in, but I DO trust him to make an honest effort to do what is right. We will have a democratic congress, if the polls are to be believed. That means balanced government if there is a republican in the White House.
Ms Higgins is “playing” a card here..she is putting the blame on Hillary’s supporters. She is not telling you “why” she will not support Hillary, but instead basically tells you to support Obama. She isn’t showing much respect for Hillary winning the majority of votes.

It really hit me this week when I was blogging and researching–has anyone ever seen so many sites set up in opposition to a candidate and in support of getting Hillary Clinton as our nominee? I absolutely LOVE it–and I think the BO camp is peeing in their pants and shaking at the knees right now. They’re realizing exactly how strong we are and can still become, and it really scares them.

Something happened to Obama on the way to the bank with his June Campaign Funds. He announced that he raised $52 million, but only $28 million showed up at the FEC. Yes, he closed May with $43 million and now closes June with $71 million. Go figure.
I went to the FEC website to look at BO’s numbers for June. Seems he raised nearly half his monthly take on the last day of the month. This statement is under it though, and I’m not understanding what it means. Could someone here decipher it for me?

I go back periodically to Huffpost to see if anyone has come to their senses over there, and was delighted to see Hill with a post. I’m amazed she was able to get on. Of course, they want unity, so I’m sure it was a unity jester. The thing is, while Obama is playing”ruler of the free world”, Hillary is actually fighting our battles!

I’m surprised. Andera Mitchell was one of the worst (in terms of trashing Hillary) during the campaign. He invalidations of Hillary were more subtle but lethal. She appeared really annoyed in this piece.

The media is hyping up how well received Obama was with the soldiers in Irac. Well, 90% of the footage I saw were mostly african Americans that were all yelling and screaming for him. 90 %…Now, having said that, I am in no way a racist. Far from it !! It isn’t part of my fabric.

Good morning all. Was watching Chris Mathews last night on MSNBC(don’t know why ) and he looks like he has aged about ten years since the last time I caught his show. Wonder why.
Anyway, I’m glad I did. A reporter, some woman can’t remember her name, attempted to make an issue out of the fact that there are no reporters there during 61′s “photo ops. Reporters have no access to whats going on and this “coverage” is not reporting.
Amazing on many levels.
One “O’ is not letting his propaganda team in, two a reporter actually mentioned it and three it happened on MNSBC.
Mathews of course ignored her but, she kept bringing the lack of reporters being there up.
I think something else was running down his leg during that segment.

Last week I happened to find a diary I wrote for my daughther, a baby at that time, musing exactly your words, but in Spanish. I had that opressive feeling that something bad was happening. I did not have the whole picture but I could sense it and felt revolted by the complacency around me. By the time we realized the magnitude, it was late and the stench of the whole process was literally overpowering.

This means, that Hillary will be only 12 delegates away from Obama’s current total; meaning we only need 12 more delegates between now and the convention, and Hillary WILL WIN THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION during the floor vote!
At no time in the history of the Democratic party has a nominee so largly ahead in votes been strongarmed out of a race before the nominating convention. Going to the convention is a right that every candidate has whether they have a million votes or 18 million. We are incensed that party insiders are tampering with the process, with the overt help of a biased media, to shut down the process and nominate a grossly inexperienced and unqualified candidate for the presidency, before the convention. Superdelegate endorsements are only valid at the convention. Pledged delegates may even change their minds in the face of persuasive information.
Time and time again we proved the pundits wrong. After Barack Obama ‘won’ the Democratic nomination, the news media expected a huge number of Hillary’s Superdelegates to jump ship for Obama, that did not happen. It is now clear, the opposite is happening. They have come to their senses.
They realize that Obama is not the real candidate of change. They have now seen the many faces of Obama. His flip-flop on Iraq, and how he is now saying ‘I will make an informed decision once I access what is really going on there.” His flip-flop on accepting public-financing. His bitter-gate comments to donors in San Francisco. His ties to racist radical leaders like Jeremiah Wright; and his close friends and fundraisers who are convicted terrorists like William Ayers.

Neither candidate, Obama nor Clinton, has enough delegates to secure the nomination. The only determinate power that has decided that Obama is the presumptive candidate is the Rules and Bylaws Committee. I watched every moment that the meeting was publicized. Unfortunately, the determining “decision” was completed behind closed doors. The determinate factor was, “these are the rules”. It was a sleazy move after saying it would be an open process, and many noticed. It was a sleazy move after making such a fuss about ‘every vote counts, and many noticed. It was a sleazy move, especially when Donna Brazile said after the 2000 election debacle; “As Chair of the DNC’s Voting Rights Institute, I was astounded to learn just how dysfunctional our electoral system has become and why this is a serious impediment to successful elections for Democratic candidates at all levels. It’s time for Democrats to get smart about election administration and take an active role in cleaning up laws and adopting new ones to protect every citizen’s right to vote.” Many noticed. Rules are not laws. If the Democratic Party is so intent on following the rules, then why not uphold the declarations in the Declaration of Independence, “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. And then the decision was summarily dumped on the American people.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign to win the nomination of the Democratic Party won her more votes than any candidate in primary history. Senator Clinton represents 18 million voters. These voters have the right to vote for the candidate of their choice on the floor of the convention. They have the right to hear their elected delegates call out the name of their preferred candidate, and have them counted! They have the right to stand up to the Rules Committee and declare their actions fraudulent. This is the only way to right the wrong committed by the ‘behind closed doors’ coup of the DNC, or by the DNC.
The importance of this cannot be understated. We either live in a Democracy, where every vote counts, or, the DNC needs to gather its character together and proclaim that Democracy in the DNC is no longer existent, and that only elected officials rule. The American voter is no longer relevant.
This precedent, once set, will forever alter the landscape of the United States as it is a flagrant disregard for the Constitution. The ramifications will be felt way beyond this election cycle. And I think they will be significant.

Many who are hell bent on electing Obama through back door, strong armed tactics, see those who oppose an Obama coronation as just “sore losers, middle aged women who know no better”. They want me, and others that feel as I do to “just get over it! Your must be a Republican! There is no way are you a Democrat! You are destroying the Party and our nation!” I can’t in good taste tell you all the things I have been called when I have expressed my reservations about the process as it unfolded. But, the DNC stole our guaranteed right to have our votes count equally.
The DNC should not have bowed it’s integrity to the Obama lawyers to prevent the seating of two full states, until Obama was seemingly guaranteed the nomination. And now we are supposed to be so impressed that he, Obama, not the DNC, will allow Florida and Michigan to participate in the Convention, maybe even fully! The DNC should have showed some character! And it did not. It did not.
The DNC does not realize that we, who are hell bent on NOT supporting this DNC coup, see what is actually happening. We base this dissent on the exact wording in the Declaration of Independence. “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. That means counting all the votes. The DNC forgot and dismantled that declaration with its behavior. It dismissed the voters. Well, we didn’t miss it, and we will not forget. I will gladly throw away my 40 years of voting Democratic right down the line, to resist these Chicago strong arm, covert tactics.
This is just not something I will “get over”. I am not woo-able. I cannot be cajoled or shamed. I will not be silent and I will not behave. I will speak as openly and as loudly as I can to try to take back our Democratic Party and our Democracy. I will not wane from this endeavor. I will not be afraid. It is entirely too important. As Howard Dean once said: “The first thing we have to do is stand up for what we believe in.”

Those Totals aren’t accurate on Delegate donations. The Center for Responsive Politics (opensecrets.org) reported at the end of February that Obama had contributed more than $700,000 to Supers and Clinton $235,000. Those were contributions made through Obama’s PAC and Senatorial Campaign Committee. There was also a flurry of articles at the beginning of March on Huffpo and other sites about the donations. I can also tell you that I have looked over the latest quarterly for Obama’s pac and there haven’t been any donations since the stories were ran at the end of February. But my guess is that some of Obama’s supporters made some pretty hefty contributions to Supers campaigns back in April & May.
I heard on fox someone figured out that the new spot in Germany for Ob’s speech may not be good idea. This is a Hitler spot that he put there for winning over France,Austria and Denmark.

Something happened to Obama on the way to the bank with his June Campaign Funds. He announced that he raised $52 million, but only $28 million showed up at the FEC. Yes, he closed May with $43 million and now closes June with $71 million. Go figure.

I am not sure I understand your comments about my post #34. Obama was projected to bring in $100 Million in June. His Campaign announced $52 million, but did not qualify it as gross or net. If it was any kind of a valid number it was gross, because the net amount that he ended up with is $28 million. That is way below expectations.
It also explains why he did not make good on his committment to get Clinton’s debt payed off. He can’t. I suspect that any Republican funding he was getting has dried up. And he will probably do worse in July with the supporters he has because of his flip-flops. Watch and see.

They had an “Obama exclusive interview from Iraq”.
First, ABC treated the interview so “presidential” IMO.
Next, he acted like his campaign didn’t leak the Iraqi leader comment about withdrawal.
Third, it appears to me that anytime he is interviewed the interviewer’s questions (no matter how gentle) are
far more substantive than his answers – BO cannot seem to answer a question without stumbling around.
Fourth, I never learn anything when he speaks, debates or has a one-on-one interview.
Finally, ‘has anything changed with this guy?’ No.
What ha changed is this. The closer he gets to the WH, the more I feel disconnected from the country I live in.

This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers, as they lived only 90 years ago. It was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote.
The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of ‘obstructing sidewalk traffic.’
They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.
Thus unfolded the ‘Night of Terror’ on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.
For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
So, refresh my memory. Some women won’t vote this year because–why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn’t matter? It’s raining?
Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO’s new movie ‘Iron Jawed Angels.’ It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.
All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.
One thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie… What would those women think of the way I use–or don’t use–my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.
HBO released the movie on video and DVD. I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum. We are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order. It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn’t make her crazy.
The doctor admonished the men: ‘Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.’
Please, if you are so inclined, pass this on to all the women you know.
We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party – just do it.
History is being made.

Obama must do more to gain women’s vote than to simply tell us that he is the least of two evils. He must come bearing gifts! I am not talking about candy and flowers here. He has to make up for the loss of a woman president in our lifetimes. I am proposing the list of gifts he must bring:
1) Based on the general population, four or five Supreme Court Justices should be women. So–Obama must promise that all his appointments to the Supreme Court will be pro-choice women.
2) Howard Dean (the mute DNC Chair) must be replaced with a woman chair, who will not sit back quietly while sexist attacks are levied against women candidates in primaries.
3) Super delegates must reflect gender equality. Closely contested elections should not be decided by a predominantly male body of super delegates. (Keep in mind that super delegates are composed mostly of elected officials–that are overwhelmingly male).
4) We must correct the inequities in the Democratic Primary system.
a) Caucuses are not Democratic. Attendance is low because many voters cannot devote two evening hours voting. As it stands, anyone who does not show up and stay to the end of a caucus does not get a vote. And who is most likely to have a conflict with these evening times? Women, of course! They are more likely to be caring for their children. When caucuses were set up, politics was a predominantly male game. Men didn’t have to worry because their wives were putting the children to bed. Come on, Democrats and move into the twentieth century. We should be making voting easier and more accessible, not continuing with arcane, restrictive and sexist traditions.
b) Caucuses have open (i.e. public) voting where the women are often intimidated by the men. In a secret ballot women can vote their consciences. We still live in a sexist society; and people should not be intimidated by public votes.
5) Many misogynist Republicans and other conservatives crossed over to vote in the Democratic primaries. In fact Obama counted on these. He didn’t want a re-vote in Florida or Michigan, because the Republicans had already voted. If we ever get another woman candidate who can make a serious bid for the Presidency, misogynists from other parties should not determine the Democratic candidate. The Democratic Party is over two thirds women and our effect should not be diluted by the primary/caucus process. When there is work to be done, when there are close votes, women are the backbone of the Democratic Party. When there are close races, it is women that make the difference for Democrats. When it comes to choosing the Democratic nominee, women’s votes must be represented proportionally.
Before women have another opportunity for the presidency, there should be a level playing field. In case we get another chance, we need assurances that this misogynist sleight-of-hand won’t happen again. Obama must bear these gifts. Then we can talk.
Once we see what happens at the Convention, then this PAC should resolve itself with a strong platform for democracy and equality. Make it a Political Action Commitee that stands for the rights of all citizens. I’ve already told all you before that you are stronger than you think! You are being listened to by millions. Make candidates come to YOU!! Make endorsements, support candidates, set standards for commitments, etc. I bet the Press will listen then AND EVERY candidate that wants to succeed.

Sounds too limited, almost corporate. If we, the people, picked one sponsor to send boycott letters to per day, I think we would cover more bases and be more effective. A combination of both ideas would also work.

Despite taking in $52 million in June 2008 alone, presidential candidate Barack Obama received only $19,250 from major Hillary Clinton donors.
From a list of 311 ‘Hillraisers’ who brought in more than $100,000 each for Clinton, only eight contributed to Obama’s campaign in June, according to the Huffington Post.
Fewer than 3 percent of Clinton’s top donors have given any money to the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Lynn, Lady de Rothschild, one of Clinton’s biggest supporters, has started a web site that aims to place Clinton’s name into the nominating process at the convention. Lady de Rothschild, like many Hillraisers, is reluctant to support Obama.
Clinton’s campaign owes vendors more than $12 million, and raised $2.7 million from donors in June to pay off its debts. To date, Clinton has loaned her own campaign $13.2 million.
During the same month, Republican candidate John McCain raised $21.5 million. However, in June, McCain’s campaign spent $27 million while Obama’s spent $25.6 million.
Brendan Daly, a spokesman for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, told the San Francisco Business Times that Rep. Pelosi “thinks that we are coming together.”
“I’m not sure you can measure just by donor support,” he said. “In terms of polling, the rank and file members of the party are uniting behind Obama.”
The Obama campaign could not be reached.
I think, IMHO, that a letter writing campaign against advertisers on MSM, stating we are boycotting their products in protest of MSM’s biased coverage of Psychobama, as well as encouraging others to do so, might have an affect on MSM.

#201 Antifish – while researching yet again the sd’s – found a link that I will have to try and go back and find again where a superdelegate from Los Angeles area in California had fundraisers with his partner for BO and raised $500,000 or more – don’t quote me on the figure – but staggering – will have to try and find the link in Google – I think that is what is happening since there is a limit to the amount as we know that you can donate – but you can have a fundraising event and get a lot like above.
#153 regarding my earlier comment to do a prowl to Congress, that requires time to e-mail all of those members. I don’t have a list. I did, however, call my Senator Bill Nelson from Florida and told the receptionist that Obama needs to be censured and that Nelson should not be supporting him. Placing Senator Clinton’s name in nomination will not “embarrass” her. This woman endured months of abuse by virtually every media outlet, while her own party ignored and even encouraged the attacks. She is

The only way to embarrass Senator Clinton would be to relegate her to vice-presidential status beneath an arrogant and absurdly under-qualified candidate. I sincerely doubt that she would accept such an offer.
Despite blatant DNC bias, media bias, and caucus voter fraud, neither candidate received the necessary 2118 votes during the primary season. Senator Clinton has 1639.5 votes and Senator Obama has 1766.5 votes. No one can win the nomination until you and the 822 other superdelegates vote at the convention next month.
As a Hillary supporter and endorser, why do you allow yourself to be bullied by a select group of anti-Clinton DNC members? Please help make sure that Senator Clinton DOES have the votes in Denver. I understand the political pressure you are under, but perhaps you should reconsider your priorities. We are drowning in national and international problems, and Senator Clinton is the ONLY candidate (in either party) intelligent enough to handle them. In what sense does a fair nomination process entail “wasting time” and “agonizing over nothing”?
If you refuse to cast your vote for Hillary, please tell me why.

I think the operative word for me is:Trust
As in who do I trust to run this nation? Obama has lied and manipulated his way into the position he holds. We don’t really know what he stands for: He changes that on a daily baisis. When someone does that, they are not trustworthy.
If we are not able to force the DNC to place Hillary’s name in nomination, I have no choice but to vote for McCain. I don’t like his policies and the direction he would take the country in, but I DO trust him to make an honest effort to do what is right. We will have a democratic congress, if the polls are to be believed. That means balanced government if there is a republican in the White House.

I go back periodically to Huffpost to see if anyone has come to their senses over there, and was delighted to see Hill with a post. I’m amazed she was able to get on. I’m surprised. Andera Mitchell was one of the worst (in terms of trashing Hillary) during the campaign. He invalidations of Hillary were more subtle but lethal. She appeared really annoyed in this piece.
I am going to say something that no one “will” say. And I hope I do not offend anyone. Not my intention, just a fact.
The media is hyping up how well received Obama was with the soldiers in Irac. Well, 90% of the footage I saw were mostly african Americans that were all yelling and screaming for him. 90 %…Now, having said that, I am in no way a racist. Far from it !! It isn’t part of my fabric.
But the fact remains that most, if not all, african americans will vote for him because he is half black.
To me it is just another biased report from our wonderful American media….

Good morning all. Was watching Chris Mathews last night on MSNBC(don’t know why ) and he looks like he has aged about ten years since the last time I caught his show. Wonder why.
Anyway, I’m glad I did. A reporter, some woman can’t remember her name, attempted to make an issue out of the fact that there are no reporters there during 61′s “photo ops. Reporters have no access to whats going on and this “coverage” is not reporting.
Amazing on many levels.
One “O’ is not letting his propaganda team in, two a reporter actually mentioned it and three it happened on MNSBC.
Mathews of course ignored her but, she kept bringing the lack of reporters being there up.
I think something else was running down his leg during that segment.
