Honestly. How dare they? Fatigued and irritated? Because voters object to having their votes stolen? Because voters object to being disenfranchised by insider big shots in a swanky Washington hotel room?
Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond, you have crossed the line. The bright line that separates mob rule from tyranny. This line, though it is a wide one which has comfortably (mostly) accommodated the struggling and shoving and striving of our vast nation’s often teeming masses of people and interests, grievances, and beliefs, it is still a fragile sandbar — on one side holding back an ocean of chaos, and on the other standing firm against the magnetic pull of an authoritarian shore.
History shows, time and time again, that when the lazy, the pompous, the cosseted, and the corrupt push or pull the narrow strip of our democratic refuge too far in one way, they open a breach on the other, exposing us all to an onslaught of disorder, violence, and fear.

2008 is a Democratic year-at all levels in all the states. The opportunity is ours. We just have to seize it. We experienced an exciting, intense, sometimes difficult, campaign to nominate our presidential candidate. Now it’s over. Barack Obama won. I supported Hillary Clinton and am proud and pleased that I did. But she lost. Barack Obama won. It’s over. It is time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Clinton and all other contenders for the nomination, to stand with him to secure his election and the election of Democrats at all levels of competition. I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support. Very first question Pelosi got on cspan was why was impeachment taken off the table. She immediately started to crow that the congress had passed censure motions and how great that was. Totally avoided the impeachment question. Second question to her was when Karl Rove was going to be arrested and put in the congressional jail. she’s talking about how tough the new democratic administration would be.
Pelosi? I’m listening…did she just say that 17 Dems worked with the Republicans, essentially blaming them for thier vote of yes. Now if I recall correctly wasn’t BO one of those 17? Any clairifcation from others is welcomed as I just tuned in.

Another DNC grievance: when Bush mentioned that we will not “appease” rogue nations at the Knesset….a slew of Democrat surrogates came out to defend and protect precious. Good morning pumas, Maryland I do believe that the NH and S. Carolina primaries were moved up to get a more diverse group of voters to make a difference (that was the excuse), and they were granted permission, not punished for their move up.
Secondly I think Bo should be described as (risky) like him or not. America is in a difficult situation all around the world and I don’t want “risky” in charge. I also have made my mind up no matter what goes on here or other places that I will not vote for him and I’m sure millions have made their minds up also.
I’m in So Cal and don’t think I will be able to vote out Pelosi, but I would, and I know I’m voting against all the do nothing demos from this state. Pelosi is in panic mode to try and say crap now cause elections are coming up, I say too little too late.

More DNC grievances: another very obvious, and probably the most egregious, is the constant effort of the Democratic leadership to have Hillary drop out of the race…even as she was winning primaries right and left. Like as if they were afraid of the democratic process playing out.

Hello everyone. I’m a former military spouse – 26 years. If you have any question about what Pelosi is saying, I can maybe help.
I feel this was more “political” with all the laptops, etc., and not really much about the people themselves. Am I the only one that feels this way? The issue concerning the economy and prices was really not answered. There seemed to be alot of “hedging”. It is just my opinion and I don’t wish to offend anyone.
Murphy, I think Fox said that “O” got 5 times the media coverage compared to Hillary and McCain. Also, the media filmed Dean in Crawford while on the campaign trail, but has given Hillary very little credit for her efforts.
Also, if any news gets back here that “O” was actually campaigning on the military bases, then there will be a big stink. The military cannot campaign on federal bases.

I believe that Obama is also using Afghanistan to set the stage for backtracking on Iraq.
Obama is showing he can be tough by saying that he’d send troops into Afghanistan. Once he makes it clear that this is how he’ll respond to escalating problems, it gives him permission to maintain or increase troop levels in Iraq if he finds that his 16-month pullout plan is going awry.
He’ll insist that he isn’t flip-flopping or going back on his promise to bring troops home. Rather, he’s responding quickly and decisively to new threats in order to protect America.
This is what we call “transparency in government.” Obama’s lies and games are very transparent to those of us who haven’t consumed the Kool-aid.
FYI – while doing the superdelegate search – found several items on the no named site – where they are starting a campaign against FOX for being so brutal to precious. So they will be writing letters of complaint -

Every time there should have been positive media coverage about a victory for Hillary- some major endorsement of BO overshadowed it – Like John Edwards endorsement (can’t remember what happened that day but it should have been Hill’s day in the spotlight. )
BO saying he will send troops to Afghanistan when he will be meeting the troops in Afghanistan is pandering, which he does very well. Besides dems have been saying this for several years. We need to scream that this old news and not new.
The military is not supportive of Obama. Many of my friends who are Vietnam vets have even suggested the military might even revolt over and Obuma presidency.

Many of the military are AA and it is understandable why they might be inclined to support an AA candidate, even if they don’t really trust or agree with him. I don’t know what % of the military is AA, but I assume it is pretty high. The military commanders I would guess might not support him.

A company associated with Hillary Clinton’s top presidential campaign advance staff has purchased a website domain that hints of a 2012 presidential bid for the vanquished senator from New York.
HRC2012.com was bought by the Markham Group on June 8, according to whois.com
Greg Hale of the Markham Group served as a key advance aide to Sen. Clinton, organizing political events for the campaign. The Markham website calls him the “lead consultant for advance and visual messaging.” Partners Paul Neaville and Robert McClarty (the son of former White House chief of staff Thomas “Mack” McClarty) also worked on Clinton’s advance team. According to whois.com, the site was registered by Todd Wilder, a longtime Democratic operative from Florida.

Mo Elleithee, a Clinton spokesman, said that Clinton officially associates herself with three websites: hillpac.com, for her political action committee, hillaryclinton.com, for her presidential campaign and now her ’12 Senate re-election campaign, and a separate site dedicated to retiring her presidential debt.
In 2006, HillaryClinton.com was used as the principle Senate re-election site, so it’s not clear why a separate 2012 site would be required.

While I don’t believe he will be interested in being an advocate for Hillary, I sincerely believe he would take on the fear we have for our democracy itself. Obama is too dumb to know what already exists or doesn’t exist. But you forget one important point … the existing militia isn’t his militia.
We already know how dismissive Obama is of everyone and everything that doesn’t serve his immediate interests. We’ve seen the way he has to restructure things to suit his almightiness (e.g., the way he moved the DNC headquarters to Chicago). We’ve seen the way he must put his own stamp on every thing (e.g., the way he created that phony Presidential seal).
So why should the idea of a civilian militia be any different? This really isn’t about a civilian militia. This is about his lordship’s private army of loyal followers. And heaven forbid these “loyal followers” ever decide they want out, because they’ll have Obama’s thugs threatening them for any act of perceived disobedience. More and more, the resemblance to Hitler becomes frighteningly clear.

As for McCain being laid back, I have another theory. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s waiting until after the convention, in part out of respect for Hillary.
Let’s assume that Obama makes a fatal error and Hillary gets the nomination in August. If McCain goes after Obama hard now, people will expect McCain to go after Hillary equally hard. If he doesn’t, he’ll be accused of turning the election over to her. If instead McCain is laid back now, he can be more of a gentleman against his dear friend Hillary later.
I don’t know whether or not there’s any truth to this. But it feels right to me.

Greetings, first off, O is not dumb. Very important that we do not shake off him being rather brilliant at times. We need to stand commited to anticipating his moves. We all know he has an over blown ego and enjoys taking credit for others hard work. But he is by far not dumb. He is calculating and a master con artist.
I believe that there is only one way to get the media to pay attention. We have to “make a story in the story”. A constant reminder of someone or some group making a rather unusual protest for an extended period of time to get the messages out to the people.
I have a rather famous activist friend who has successfully accomplished these goals with amazing results on a number of Earth friendly issues. Same thing. Draw attention. Baite the media.
I think Obama’s European tour has been orchestrated by the DNC and Soros. I have been investigating the connection between Soros, Obama, and British and Anglo-Dutch financial system. According to Lyndon Larouche, there is an ongoing rise in British Imperialism, which Soros is a key player. Soros was instrumental in establishing the Euro. Larouche states on his PAC site that Soros now owns the DNC with his finances and was behind Hillary’s woes in the primary. Soros didn’t want Hillary to usher in new FDR policies that would benefit the middle class. It makes sense to me that Europe would embrace Obama with open arms since he works so closely with Soros and Soros works so close with the World Bank and the British and Dutch financial system. Obama is Soros’s puppet to take down the US financial system to it’s last leg and ultimate death.
Not a bright thought, but there is much behind closed curtains and there is so much yet to learn and documents to wade through.

According to Larouche, Edwards may have been Soros’s puppet. Edward Anti-Poverty campaign was significantly supported by Soros’s CAP and ACORN organizations. Larouche speculated that Soros put pressure on Edwards to put his support on Obama at that particular time, when Hillary was gaining massive support. Soros wanted to ensure that Hillary was taken down once and for all. He used Edwards through the pressure of his money.

I was over at hillaryclintonforum yesterday. That same letter by Fowler? It was sent out by several other delegates/superdelegates. Its like a talking point memo. I suspect it is the standard response to all the emails we are sending out re: the PUMA movement and its objectives. Taylor Marsh is also standing by it and crowing about it. Its so sad to see her “fall in line”. She truly was an outstanding advocate for Hillary. Top Clinton Donors Meet With McCain Campaign

The Wall Street Journal reports that Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett-Packard CEO and senior adviser to Sen. John McCain, met with a group of 25 prominent supporters and fundraisers for Sen. Hillary Clinton at a private home in Westchester County, NY. The group included several so-called “Hillraisers,” each of whom have raised in excess of $100,000 for Clinton’s failed primary campaign. The meeting was repeatedly sought by the Hillary supporters and is at least the second such meeting between backers of Clinton and the McCain campaign.
An organizer of the meeting, Amy Siskind, said that the pro-Hillary groups represented pledged to help deliver, “hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of votes,” to McCain if the groups find areas of agreement between themselves and his campaign.
News of the meeting will not be comforting to the campaign of Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama, who has been trying to close ranks behind his campaign after a contentious primary season. Clinton has endorsed Obama and has made fund raising and campaign appearances with him. She has also asked her supporters to get behind Obama’s campaign. Still, polls show that Obama could lose a portion of Clinton’s support in the general election, and the McCain campaign has been trying to exploit the differences between Obama and Clinton’s supporters.

I also just finished listening to the radio show from last night. I wasn’t home to listen. Great show Murphy. I need to catch up on the blogs, I really haven’t been able to be on consistently because of work, and trying to catch things up in my house. I need to get things in order, before going to Denver 
My garden is coming in like ganbusters, so I need to can, and freeze what I can now. Sometimes I just have to make myself get away from this computer, as it will consume my whole day before I know it.
By the way I went to the movies, and while waiting 1 1/2 hours to see Batman, I went and put flyers up in each of the bathroom stalls lol…I always carry flyers and tape with me in my very large purse, even have a pocket stapler, you just never know! I am sorry to repeatly bring this up but I dont think it is wise for us to give LaRouche credibility. He was known for doing/being quite evil in the past. I grew up in No VA, (his hometown) he was well known in the 80′s-90′s.
His past is long and dark and well connected. A family member of mine was given police protection when she quit working for him. That was recommendation of the police not a request from her.
I dont think it reflects well on us to a line with him even though right now we agree with him. Higher ups are well aware of LaRouche, it will not help our cause, and they will not take us as seriously.

Dear Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond:
First of all, the intimidation tactics (vote our selected nominee or else) are precisely what has been turning off many voters toward the Democratic Party. I’ve never been a sports fan, and never intend to become a sports fan. After so many years of my party offering me candidates who are not electable, what is so wrong with wanting a candidate who is experienced and who doesn’t insult and disenfranchise the swing states? As a voter, I voted once in the primary election in Pennsylvania. I am disgusted to learn that some people in other states were able to vote at least three times in this primary election. Dr. Lynette Long is compiling a list of stories regarding voter fraud in Iowa, Indiana, and Texas (among others).
I was outraged when Bush was allowed to steal the election–not once, but twice. When speaking with some international friends of mine about my outrage at this primary, their response was “What do you expect? It’s the United States. You didn’t actually expect it to be a fair election?” I want to be proud that our nation *elects* its leaders instead of *selects* them.

#150 Maryland PUMA – my caucus ran out of ballots & used slips of paper – 95% of the people there to register didn’t even know what they were supposed to do – basically the caucus (circus) here is to illuminate the congressional races, items of interest for state electons, etc. – majority of people had no interest in any of that, cast their ballot “for my man Obama” (most didn’t even know the name – votin’ for the black man) & then left – the rest of my caucus didn’t start until 8:30 & didn’t get over until 10:00 – everything was supposed to be done by 8:00 pm – never did find out how many people were fraudulent – did hear some rumblings at the next semi delegate meeting – I had to justify to the group why I wanted to be a state delegate to the convention but I lost to a black male – no surprise there………………………there were 4 of us who wanted to be delegate – black man, young white male who had moved to MN from WI, white woman who had worked for Kerry, and me – old, white woman who had been waiting for female president since able to cast my first ballot which by default was for Humphrey since he was from MN………..I lost – will get over it eventually but the whole process was a circus from beginning to end – normally, caucuses have about 15-25 people who attend…………….one of the items we put on the agenda from our precint was to eliminate caucuses forever – don’t know what happened at the State convention – was probably thrown under the table – although, alot of people were reallly unhappy with the process – the only ones who really like it are the lifelong party people who live & die for the Party……….

Your letter to Democratic supporters of Hillary Clinton says that she ‘lost’ the nomination. The problem is of course that she did not lose, she was swindled by the Rules and Bylaws Committee with the support of many in the party – I guess that would include you. A fair process would have avoided all of this dissention and I am fatigued by the party supporters trying to sweep fraud under the rug. That’s what the Republicans do. Maybe you are in the wrong party.
I don’t know if this happened in any other states, But in Indiana they bussed high school kids from Gary to Crown Point for a “school field trip” to vote for Obama. They handed out “palm card” with a list of who to vote for. They also took them to a Ponderosa Steak House for lunch and paid for it.

Dear Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond,
I’ve read the letter you co-authored to Democrats asking everyone to get behind Barack Obama. I’m sorry. I just can’t do it. Obama is wrong for our country, and electing him would be the biggest mistake we could possibly make.
Let me start by saying that I seriously considered Obama when I began watching the debates earlier this year. But I quickly saw that Hillary was a better choice.
Once upon a time, I wanted to see a Clinton-Obama ticket. Once upon a time, I thought I would vote for Obama if Hillary endorsed him. But the more I see of Obama, the less I like him and the less I trust him. I’m not alone. Most of my friends consider Obama “scary.” These are friends who are far more knowledgeable about politics than I am. They include people who have lived a lot longer than I have, so they’re far more aware of how past leaders have helped or hurt our country.
My feelings about Obama changed dramatically when the Reverend Wright story broke. I don’t believe that Obama could spend 20 years in that church without embracing the hateful, poisonous attitudes of Reverend Wright. (It’s human nature to embrace the attitudes of those around you when you want so desperately to belong, to fit in, and to be accepted.) Those same hateful, poisonous attitudes dominate the blog posts from Obama supporters. When I see the hatred and violence that Obama inspires in his followers, I can only conclude that an Obama presidency would be dangerous for our nation and the world.
Beyond that, I’m turned off by Obama’s increasingly dismissive attitude. Refusing to do additional debates with Hillary when voters still wanted to hear debates was dismissive of Hillary and voters everywhere. Refusing to insist that Florida and Michigan delegates be seated in full was dismissive, not only to voters in those two states, but to voters everywhere. Refusing to accept John McCain’s invitation for weekly town hall meetings is dismissive. Voters want to hear those debates, and we’re entitled to them.
What this says to me is that a President Obama will be dismissive of everyone and everything that doesn’t serve his immediate interests. That’s unacceptable. We’ve had that from President Bush for the last eight years. I don’t want it anymore.
I want to expand on the issue of weekly town hall meetings with John McCain, because for me it’s a very telling one. How many times during the primary season did Obama say, “I welcome that debate with John McCain”? So why does he now do everything possible to avoid the weekly town hall meetings that McCain keeps asking for?
Here’s what Obama’s actions make unquestionably clear:
• Obama is not a man of his word.
• Obama knowingly and willingly makes promises he has no intention of keeping.
• Obama does not respect voters who want to hear both candidates discuss the issues. Nor does he respect leaders in other countries who are also entitled to hear substantive debates between the men who aspire to be President.
• Obama not a man who can or will reach across the aisle as he has repeatedly promised to do. If he intended to reach across the aisle, he’d be demonstrating it now every chance he could.
• Obama doesn’t believe in transparency in government.
• Obama is afraid that McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his empty rhetoric.
• Obama isn’t knowledgeable enough about the issues to speak without a teleprompter or the scripted words of his speechwriters.
• If Obama were to become President, he would repeatedly shy away form difficult decisions and uncomfortable topics. So, too, would he avoid talking with other world leaders unless it was entirely on his terms.
How can voters reliably judge Obama’s character and conviction? It’s not necessary to research his background, voting record, or accomplishments. All voters have to do is look at the great disparity between his recent words and current actions.
On policy issues, I’m more aligned with Democrats than I am with Republicans. But I can’t in good conscience vote for a man of such bad character.
Lastly, in response to your statement about the fatigue and irritation you feel toward those of us who refuse to support Obama, you might take comfort in something I learned years ago as a basketball referee. One day I was lamenting at how the fans booed the refs no matter how hard we worked or how good a game we called. A senior referee responded by telling me that when fans pay for their tickets, part of the price of admission is the right to boo the refs.
You may not like the complaints you’re receiving. But when voters (i.e., fans) buy their tickets (i.e., register to vote), part of the price of admission is the right right to boo the refs (i.e., express displeasure with the candidates, the DNC, and the way the primaries were conducted). Enjoy the ride. It’s the one you signed up for when you became part of the DNC.

This gives me double opportunity to make a difference and make them take note. Thank God for PumaPac. Putting aside all the wrong doings by the DP and *61, one of the biggest reasons that many voters oppose him is his inexperience.
If you are a passenger on an airplane, you want a pilot that has years of flying experience. If you are having surgery, you want the surgeon that is an expert in his field and has performed many surgeries. If you want to invest your money, you select a bank or financial advisor that is knowledgable and reputable. Also, you check their references.
Why is it so hard for the rest of the party, pundits, and others to grasp that *61 is not qualified to be the POTUS? Good grief, if Senator Clinton had the same credentials, she wouldn’t be ready either.
Our future is being gambled with by the selection of *61 and the voters are wise enough to fight and oppose him.
It is really important to write the ombudsmen of the major papers because they represent the voice of the readers. However, in order for our letters to be considered it has to be linked to a recent article about *61. That’s one of the projects that I’m working on now.
Finally, it doesn’t surprise me that *61 is making mistakes on his trip because it is all about marketing and propaganda.
It is good that we are focusing, brainstorming, looking for facts for our talking points.
The most blatant; manipulating our democratic system too become president at any cost is the beginning of tyranny.

TOPIC: Fundraiser for Hillary
Just returned from a fundraiser in Portland for Hillary. A great time, & great networking, & I think everyone learned something from everyone else!
The woman who hosted it went to the same college as Hillary – Wellesey College – (can’t spell).
There were 3 PUMA’s there, me, LaChat, and RoseCityFriend.
A guest speaker, last name of Tinker, spoke on her special area of knowledge which is women in politics and women leaders in other countries. She has studied both since the 60’s.
She says that when women succeed in politics in getting themselves elected as leaders (examples: Liberia and Chile), their success was made possible by grassroots women’s groups.
I hope I paraphrased that right (I think I did), & if I didn’t RoseCityFriend can add more!
Comment: I drove 120 miles each way to attend this & it was the best reason for a long-distance drive. Ever. So if you hear of a meetup or a fundraiser or anything else, try to attend even if it means it’s far away.
It’s great to talk face-to-face with like-minded people.
More on the fundraiser:
I met a woman there who wanted to give me a check for $150 on the spot for PUMA. I told her you need to become a PUMA member & make that donation online. I’m going to be emailing her and helping her get on-board (she’s older & doesn’t even know about blogging).
She also wants to go to Denver.

Just a few more thoughts on responding to Fowler, et al.
Oops… Hit the wrong button on the previous post. My point was that we include in our letters something like “If you think THIS has been fatiguing and irritating, this is nothing compared to the next four years will be IF Senator Obama should make it that far.”
We are already working to make sure all of those in Congress who forced Senator Clinton out of the race and those who betrayed her will lose their seat if they are up for re-election. We don’t want people in office who do NOT represent us and far worse bully us. So, we ask that you reconsider your position and urge you to have Senator Clinton’s name placed in the vote for the nomination in order for HER delegates to fairly vote for her. We also URGE you to vote for Senator Clinton during during the nomination as YOU know she is THE one that is best qualified to be President and definitely will beat McCain. The polls even show she is way ahead of Barack when it comes to beating Senator McCain.
The choice should be easy for you — do I vote for a sure thing or take a risk with a fairly high chance of losing?

Whoa…back up. It’s obvious you are new or don’t post much. I am in no way a BO sympathizer. I am in no way a McCain supporter. I am disenfranchised right now because my party has behaved miserably and placed their choice into a powerful position. A candidate I do not believe in nor will I vote for.

And I wasn’t criticizing beca4hillary, I was criticizing the organizer in the article because it sounds so much like what the DNC says about us – they can lead us around and tell us how to vote. I own my vote and am responsible to no one for what I choose to do with it. Meaning, I can vote green, write-in or stay home.

In Wisconsin, I asked her if she was offended by Bill Clinton’s use of the phrase ‘fairytale’ to describe her husband’s characterisation of his position on the Iraq war. At first, Obama responded with a curt ‘No’. But, after a few seconds, she affected a funny voice. ‘I want to rip his eyes out!’ she said, clawing at the air with her fingernails. One of her advisers gave her a nervous look. ‘Kidding!’ Obama said. ‘See, this is what gets me into trouble.’
Does any one has a library of the campaing trail “Live” speeches that were broadcast via internet?
Did you notice? I noticed something peculiar; I used to wondered why CNN would always broadcast Hillary’s face in very closed proximity, not a panoramic view that would have captured her surroundings…the crowd in attendance, excitement etc… in contrast, *61s were panoramic views of the crowd at all times. Check and you will notice the difference (angules of the shots). I imagine CNN (or any) used the angules and setting depending on how they want to influence the audience .

Yes, everything is manipulated to give him an edge. Notice when comparing his pic with Hillary/McCain, *61 pics are “photoshop” with warm-lighter skin tone, where as McCain is in darker-grey tone. Mehta, Director of Training for the DNC said “when campaign volunteers are uninformed about a candidate’s platform, they should respond to a question by acknowledging their inability to answer and should ask for the voter’s contact information so the volunteer can respond when better informed”.

The presidents of the United States, a supposedly free country, have been abusing their power to an increasingly greater extent. As far as the Media goes there were two separate problems I could see. One was the ridiculous way the media acts like a bunch of BO groupies. There is no balance in the number of stories they present regarding BO and whomever his opponent(s) are and if they do one of their love fest BO stories they maybe do a negative story on his opponent and call it balance. So problem one is their groupieism, this cost Edwards his shot at the nomination.
Problem two was the blatant sexism by the Media Cartel old men and the Uncle Tom female news readers. It cost Hillary a good deal as all I heard in the caucus I went to was a bunch of BO idiots parroting the media which parroted the sexist BO campaign talking points. In a way this did serve Hillary well as the Media Cartel at least didn’t ignore her to death the way they did Edwards since they so enjoyed the sport of sexism. However I think BO has suffered from the loss of his nemesis. His followers seem to feel robbed of some sort of validation since PUMAs have been so active and they seem to miss their sexist attacks on Hillary.

I have just recently been made aware of an email asking Hillary Clinton supporters to get behind Obama, and I must respectfully decline your rather biased demand, that WE THE PEOPLE should be beholding to a Democratic Party that has forced a candidate upon us and without cause. Oh, sure, he can give good speeches meant to deceive (by the way), but will he make a good president—I think not.
I supported Hillary Clinton throughout the primary season because in my mind, and in my heart of hearts I know her to be the better nominee and that she would make the better President over both Barack Obama and John McCain. Her experience pales in comparison to Senator Obama who for the most part, has spent his time as senator campaigning. So one has to ask, what are his accomplishments? None! I therefore cannot endorse your presumptive nominee; because unlike you, I do not, will not change my mind. And if you have, I can only conclude that you have set your priorities in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and for the wrong person.
You also say in your letter to us, that Hillary Clinton has lost—How so, we have to ask, when she won popular vote and received more than any candidate in our history and when the Convention (the place where candidates are Selected) has not happened yet and will not happen until the end of August of this year?
Hillary Clinton had amassed over 308 Electorial votes needed to win in the fall against John McCain by winning most of the larger states like New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc; and yes, then there is Florida, and Michigan! She had the voter momentum at the end of the Primary season, but the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee chose to be dismissive of her achievements; as did Howard Dean when he chose not to enforce the 50% reduction at the beginning of the season when clearly that was the rule. (Ah, yes, I/we read the pdf file and it was truly an eye-opener), so you see those of us who are now in protest mode aren’t uninformed citizens; and neither are we blind party followers.—Not when the party has dis’d both Hillary and us. But it was a choice Mr Dean and the Rules and Bylaws Committee are now paying for, because there are a great many of us who saw through that political maneuver and will not fall in line at the disenfranchisement of millions of voters.
And another word for momentum is money! So it was more than just popular votes and delegate votes that were taken away from Hillary; the DNC also stole her ability to raise funds—and for those three reasons alone we cannot, will not forgive. So when you say, it is time to back Obama; we say, it is time for us to stand tall, and fight for what we know to be right. Namely: One person, one vote. And this season my vote will be placed for John McCain if Hillary is not nominated at the Convention. And if she is not nominated, the only things that any of you can do to salvage this election is to 1) reinstate Florida and Michigan at their FULL 100% capacity; 2) place Hillary’s name on the ballot 3) so that a fair and equitable roll call vote can be taken. History needs to record the truth, and Hillary deserves more than just a speaking role. Nay, WE deserve more than to just be cast aside in the bleachers as if we are watching some football or basketball game; or worse yet attending a rock-star contest. This is for the PRESIDENTCY OF THE UNITED STATES, and we expect more from you than to just dismiss us out of hand.
Party leaders like yourself and superdelegates may be willing to jump on the Obama bus, because of his bundled lobbyist money coffers, but we will not idly stand by and watch our democratic process be hijacked by a few party elites, who, in my view do not have this country’s interest at heart, they not supporting the views held by most middle class citizens. Let me make myself even clearer: the only reason Senator Obama was selected as the party’s “presumptive” nominee was through the endorsements of superdelegates, who, by the way, have up until the Party’s August Convention to CHANGE their minds. He was not selected by the will of the people, however; and that is something history need to remember and something we need never to forget.
Now that’s a CHANGE I can believe in!

We are not angry solely because we are disgusted with the way Hillary Clinton was treated, and disappointed that the far better candidate was kept from getting the nomination. That, of course, is a large part of it.
But an even bigger part of our PUMA movement is our disgust with the Democratic Party itself, and your letter is a perfect example of that. What is the most important part of our democracy? WE ARE! THE VOTERS ARE! Have you forgotten that more voters went into voting booths and voted for Hillary Clinton than for your anointed candidate? Since when does the Democratic Party disenfranchise voters, steal votes from one candidate and give them to their anointed candidate? Since when does the Democratic Party insult whole sections of their constituencies, and basically spit in the face of democracy?
I live in the United States of America and I own my vote. You and the media will NEVER dictate to me who I should vote for. Dear Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond,
Forgive me for sending a second email about Obama when I know you’re already getting so many today. However, I had a couple of other thoughts I felt compelled to share.
Several times during the primaries, Hillary Clinton compared running for President to applying for a job. She stressed the importance of experience and accomplishments. And whenever she was asked about her own accomplishments, she could cite many.
I, too, believe that one’s accomplishments are an important measure of how qualified a person is and what he or she will do for a prospective employer (or in this case, taxpayers). The trouble is, I never heard anything convincing from either Obama or his surrogates.
Occasionally he spoke of bills he sponsored. Some of those never passed, so they don’t count. Others failed to benefit the people they were designed to help. Oops. That doesn’t sway me either.
Often Obama spoke of being a community organizer in Chicago. That’s a title, not an accomplishment. It would be like saying that Hillary was qualified to be President because she was First Lady for eight years. No. She’s qualified because of what she accomplished for the people. Hillary produced measurable results that benefitted Americans and people throughout the world. Obama can’t say that.
In my last email, I addressed your feelings of fatigue and irritation toward those of us who refuse to support Obama. I used the analogy of you being like basketball officials and voters being like fans who purchase the right to boo the refs when they register to vote.
Now I have another analogy. In essence, you work in the customer service department of a large organization. If your organization has a good product and good customer service, you’re rewarded with lots of praise, repeat business from your loyal customers, and new business from word-of-mouth advertising from those happy customers.
But if your organization has a faulty product and poor customer service, you get complaints, you lose business, and you risk legal action from people demanding refunds and/or compensation for damage done by your faulty product.
Sadly, the DNC has a product that is not only faulty but dangerous. The DNC has some of the worst customer service ever seen. And the DNC’s blatant attempts to hide the defects, deny the truth, and engage in illegal and bad-faith conduct has created an intolerable condition.
If you choose to “stay the course,” you deserve whatever fallout comes your way. If, on the other hand, you abandon this defective and dangerous product (Obama) and replace it with a better one (Hillary), and if you commit to outstanding customer service, you will be rewarded with a landslide victory in November. It’s a really simple concept.

Time to vent:
In our state, of course nobody checks anyone’s ID or for voter registration when they arrive at the caucus. To me, that is a huuuuuge problem.
And at our district caucus, even the state convention, anybody and his dog can stand up and run for Elector (yes, that key vote in the Electoral college, the check and balance to a screwy election!) and I doubt anybody checks (after the fact) if they’re registered voters. (Or citizens, for that matter!!!) To become an elector, all anyone had to do was stand up there, tell the crowd their name, give a 30 second speech on why they want to be Elector…then people voted.. and that was that. Uhhh… I am a liberal person, but does anyone else find that whole scenario just a teensy bit scary?? It “kinda sorta blew me away.”
I majored in Poli Sci many, many years ago but never have I received a more realistic and frightening education about Democracy than I have in this election.
We have much work to do to turn this country around. Thank you, Murphy, and ALL OF YOU.

The part about support of the delegates is of utmost importance because if Hillary does not have signed pledges from them, then there is no point in putting her name in nomination. The next best case scenario is that he self-implodes, he gets indicted in the Rezco case, the Whitey tape is real, the birth certificate is false or he screws up overseas. I commend you once again for what IMO is a fair and unbiased assessment.
I have written you previously when you did the article about PUMA, but elected not to partake of Friday’s invitation to post.
I did this primarily because after a few minutes of reading, I could see I had entered a volatile zone and did not wish to engage.
I feel our members did an outstanding job of presenting actual facts and self defense.
Sometimes in our passion for a cause we react with comments that would not have reflected favorably. Since I knew I would not , perhaps, be “gentle”, I held my tongue. Ms Murphy always encourages that we present our objectives and personal ideas with respect and class. I try to keep that in mind, but we all slip up. I can’t say as much for our opposition. It seems “attack” and ” obscenity” are the first rules of order. You can not hold a fair debate with people in this mindset. No matter what you say , it is either over their heads or they don’t hear you at all…..they are planning their next attack as you speak.

Spent 4 days on the Guadelupe … Saturday the river was so full of people on “toobs”, we just got out of the river and hiked most of the way to the chutes. If anyone lives in that area, maybe you could get a spot on those rocks just past River Chase and set up a big sign and hand out info on the weekends. Most of the folks floating by are young adults.

Does anyone have red flag signals going up on the last sentence? What does “…recently selected delegates to join in…” mean? Does that mean they are replacing the Clinton delegates with ones that will vote for Obama?
Not sure if that is the intention of that sentence — but that’s how I’m interpreting it.

Yes, your system is very different than ours here in structure. Here, the president and vice pres., don’t actually represent any particular “district.” And there’s no such thing as a “vote of no confidence.”
It is very confusing. I have to admit. Has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but all in all, I think the US works better in a country as large as this one. If we were able to have many different parties, all representing their own portion of the electorate, I’d don’t think we ever get ANYTHING done! We be having new elections every 6 weeks!

I would be willing to help because I have lots of downloaded file, shortcuts, bookmarks, plus YouTubes; but not here… it would not be productive, because there are just too many posts to sift through, and often we miss one another’s post. Besides, we would just be duplicating our efforts.
So may I suggest, that a project like this would require some organization giving the interested parties the ability to communicate *directly* with one another instead of around you or through you; either by a group email or a group chat. That and having one another’s email addresses and telephone numbers would be great too.

This, I have to say, pisses me off. Ms. Germond is a West Virginia Superdelegate. She even fails to see how the people of WV voted in the primary (41% victory over *61, I might say!). She along with our governor, our representatives, our senators, and of course, our DNC chairman, betrayed the voters of WV. I have to remind you of how condescending that our elected officials to the voters here. I had a face-to-face with my Rep. Nick Joe Rahall in April. I only asked him what quality did *61 have that Hillary didn’t. He turned around with a smirk and replied that *61 “was a winner!”. This is the BS that I’ve had to put up with from SD’s from WV. I’m tired of it and I’m not taking the crap any longer!! I will tell anyone about my thoughts of this sparce of a primary. At this rate, I don’t see the need for elections, if a “select group” of people have decided before we even get a chance to have our voices heard! I guess that I’ll stop venting for now! I had an idea last night, while looking at the moon, We could make a virtual circle of prayer,ritual,whatever each of us do to commune with our higher power to protect and keep all safe ,then put *61 and friends “under the bus”. Just a thought, but I had a heart attack 6 years ago and Quadruple bypass with ablation(they made small holes in the wall of my heart to encourage new vein growth), anyway, I was the center of aq large and virtual prayer circle, the surgery was a great success, and I was up and walking within 12 hours after surgery,home in a week. So I know this works. Anyone want to join that circle?

The problem with AIM is it’s only good for a one on one… Wouldnt know about the advanced features…. never used MSN or Yahoo, so wouldnt know about them either. But if MaryLandPuma or anyone else does, great.
I do know that the chat program I recommended can have many people inside the same room, can create hidden rooms with passwords… downloadable log files, etc. And since it is a program I have used before I can vouch for its stability.

Is there a way to get a up-to-date list of current superdelegates, i.e. new, old, removed/replaced, from the DNC, the FEC, or some other govt agency. Seems to me this information should be readily available to the public upon request. If not voluntarily, then perhaps through a FOIA (Freedom of Information) request.
I don’t know where to begin to go to locate that information, but for starters, I’m thinking of simply calling the DNC to find out, contacting a reference librarian at a big library/university library, New York Public Library, law school library….
If there are any attorneys out there amongst us, their input would be invaluable.
Another suggestion, contacting a not-for-profit legal organization with interest in election fraud type issues and asking them to be an unpaid advisor to us, or,
hiring an attorney for legal advice, heck, or even a law student!

I read Clinton’s actions as being extremely smart. You have to remember that it’s always important to never throw all your eggs into one basket. The PUMA movement is reacting in the same manner. If you analyze us — you’ll realize our immediate goal is to get Clinton nominated at the convention… our backup plan (if that doesn’t succeed) is to ensure that Obama fails in his quest for CIC.
Well… why should Senator Clinton be any different than us? She’s a smart cookie. Her first wish is to be President in 2008. But she’s smart enough to know she needs a backup plan if it doesn’t go through. I think her plans for 2012 is sending a very strong signal to us. She’s saying she knows we are out there fighting for her. She’s saying that if our fight doesn’t get her elected this year… she’s very much aware that our next plan is to elect McCain. She’s saying she’s preparing for a race in 2012 if we succeed on either path (current goal or backup plan). What’s not to get? I think her message is loud and clear — GO PUMA’s!!!

In the meantime, I do believe a huge part of our goal is to assist in the “clean-up” of the Democratic Party. Even if Hillary does get the nomination and even if she does become the next president, the Party corruption is not going to magically go away and unless it does, democracy in general in this country is in jeopardy.

The DNC leadership at this point is modeling Republicans and, actually, much more hypocritical than they are. Many PUMAs have fabulous ideas and have volunteered to take on important functions, but their offers are getting lost in the haze.
I suggest we put out a request, through email, or whatever to all PUMA’s to submit their ideas – structural/administrative/specific project, etc., their specific skills and their willingness to take on certain tasks or functions.
Then we designate certain PUMAs to coordinate the information, ween it down to a list of viable options and submit those to the PUMA membership and settle on an organization set-up, a list of projects and members willing to take them on.

Many voters have already expressed dismay at the DNC bias and media bias that plagued the nomination process. When you guys have been constructing the superdelegate lists, do you have records of new superdelegates, i.e. when they got their superdelegate status? And/or records of superdelegates who’ve been removed so far?
Honestly we see some of this info when we are searching for contact info. if we wrote this stuff down this database would not get finished before the convention. We should work on those details when we have more time. The first part of the database needs to be finished to make delegates change their vote at the convention then we can work on part two. If you want to start this, just go to any current site, download a pile of delegates, and add on delegates and start working on it.

There are about 4 threads over there now all buzzing about this letter. And folks are angry over it. I don’t know what they tried to accomplish here, but all they did was make us angrier and more determined not to be so trivialized. I wonder how anyone can be this deaf, dumb and blind. The second guy said *61 is giving out all of the specifics of his “strategies” on our AFghanistan (and probalby all enemies) should he become …well, you know. Afghanistan is already ready to send in extra troops as soon as the new president takes office. *61 is telling them how many troops will be sent and when, etc. The foreign affairs guy said this is terrible to be giving out our strategies to our enemies. The *61 guy said he thought it was great and wanted no secrets.

I don’t recall the primary incident that you refer to in your post.
However, it is strikingly similar to an event that happened at the Texas Democratic Party Convention. *61 supporters delayed the delegate vote until after 2:30 am on the last night of the convention.
There was an announcement made prior that for anyone parked in the parking garage that they would need to move their cars or be towed and when those delegates left to move their cars, that’s when the vote was held. This vote determined the breakdown of the pledged delegates to the convention in Denver.

They stated there are now 4 million registered PUMA members… Is this for real?? This will fragment the democratic party if Obama loses because of the PUMA organization.. At this point the other problem is, it is hard to tell which members are true Clinton supporters, DNC/RBC haters, or McCain operatives, the PUMA thing is beginning to become very blurred.

it would be quite a challenge to fragment something that already was fragmented months ago.
PUMA was born on June 1, right after the RBC fiasco. The Democratic Party began to fragment around the beginning of this year (and some might argue, much earlier than that.)
I don’t doubt that PUMA has grown to become a force to be reckoned with, and 4 million does seem like a significant number to get the DNCers worried. They are even having a convention soon at the same hotel, here in D.C., where the RBC meeting took place.
I guess that is why Fowler/Germond, Brazille, and other DNC fatcats have launched attacks against those of us who have opted not to (or in my case, refused to) fold into the Church of Obamatology.
There are other permutations of PUMA that I’ve heard of, so it could be in excess of 4 million, which wouldn’t surprise me.
I don’t consider myself a PUMA, as I won’t under any circumstances vote for McCain (if that’s what a PUMA plans to do). I still will be one sad and dejected American citizen, regardless of who wins the election.

Yes, Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond, I certainly do “criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their (my) support.” You and a handful of co-conspirators usurped the will of 18 million voters by bringing the primary to a screeching halt. This was not done fairly, nor was it done within the established rules of the DNC. No, you, and others, chose to ignore the rules and foist your chosen nominee upon all Democrats regardless of their wishes. Allow me to use some words with which you may well be familiar…. Your chickens are coming home to roost.

As voters and supporters of the Democratic Party, we request, no we demand that our voices be heard. I saw your e-mail to Democratic Donors (of which I am one) and other Democrats, and I was so incensed by it that I was compelled to write to you directly. I will respond to each portion of your letter below. I have formatted your e-mail in red so you can easily differentiate.
2008 is a Democratic year-at all levels in all the states. The opportunity is ours. We just have to seize it.
We experienced an exciting, intense, sometimes difficult, campaign to nominate our presidential candidate. Now it’s over. Barack Obama won.
I supported Hillary Clinton and am proud and pleased that I did. But she lost. Barack Obama won. It’s over.
It is time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Clinton and all other contenders for the nomination, to stand with him to secure his election and the election of Democrats at all levels of competition.
We did experience “an exciting, intense, sometimes difficult campaign to nominate our presidential primary candidate,” but we also experienced an intrinsically unfair campaign, one in which some rules were adhered to while others were not. In addition, the end of the campaign gave witness to direct interference on the part of the RBC, both in stripping any state of any delegates in the first place (in August of 2007), and then by meeting in secret during the May 31st meeting (a violation of our own charter for the record), and then by outright stealing Clinton delegates and giving them to Obama.
It does not matter one wit to us Clinton supporters that the DNC did this with the approval of elected Michigan Democrats, or any other elected Democrat since our issue is primarily with the way elected Democrats have ABUSED their power. And abuse it they have, for more than two years now. Did you think we wouldn’t pay attention? Boy, were you and every other blinded-by-power SOB inside the DNC wrong.
I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support. The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t establish conditions to recognize the Boston Celtics as NBA Champions; Roger Federer did not demand concessions before recognizing that Rafael Nadal defeated him at Wimbledon.
And I must confess a resurrection of rage upon reading your insulting and pig-headed attempt at an analogy here. Your analogy leaves it clear why Democrats are in the piss-poor shape they are in this year: You people think this is like SPORTS! It is not anything like sports, it is the election of the president to the country that sells itself as the leader of the free world. Can you even tell the difference anymore? Are you really THAT out of touch? Yes, judging by the DNC’s actions, and the actions of many other elected Democrats this primary season, you people really are that out of touch. Don’t be surprised at the rewards you reap when you act like such an ass.
It is time to act in a mature and resourceful fashion. It’s time to put the primaries behind us. It’s time to support Barack Obama without conditions or demands.

So I went to get a haircut today (i know, GREAT story! lol) anyway, there were about 50 people there (altogether) and they were all talking politics. I have called her office and also faxed her and asked her to support Hillary’s nomination at the convention and not to give her delegate to Obama. A lot of the delegates tell me that Hillary dropped out and they are now supporting the Democratic nominee. I don’t know how many more on that list were originally for Hillary and then endorsed Obama when she dropped out. You need to know that before you write them.

I guess Hillary isn’t going to announce anything today. I doubted that the DNC would be letting her talk right now and taking attention away from BO and his trip. Especially a story saying her debt is paid back no thanks to BO or the DNC.
Did anyone notice that Hillary Clinton has a line through her name in Tom Abraham’s sidebar? So does John Edwards. Correct me if I’m wrong, but neither ENDED their campaign, but SUSPENDED it.
That means they are STILL candidates.

Earlier today, I emailed someone on the DNC’s Rules & Bylaws Committee to ask if Hillary’s name will be placed in nomination at the convention. He was kind enough to send me a reply.
I’m not going to reveal his identity out of courtesy. I don’t want him bombarded by Puma emails after he was considerate enough to answer my question.
However, what I will suggest is that based on the information he has provided, we might consider writing polite letters to delegates who might be brave enough to sign a petition indicating their support for Hillary.

Hi _______
Since you were kind enough to correspond with me last May when I had concerns about how the Florida and Michigan issue would be settled at the RBC meeting, I thought I’d ask you a question about the DNC convention.
As you may recall, I’ve been active with PUMA PAC. We’re all very concerned about whether Hillary’s name will be placed on the ballot and “in nomination.” Many people have been contacting the DNC about this, hoping for an answer. However, they don’t feel like they are getting honest information and are concerned that the DNC will try to block any possibility of Hillary being nominated.
Can you tell me what to expect? Will Hillary’s name be placed on the ballot and in nomination, as is customary?
I know there’s a possibility that it may not change the outcome. However, we would all feel much better if the customary procedures were followed and if superdelegates had this one last opportunity to vote for the candidate whom we believe is most qualified and most appropriate to lead our nation.

That is entirely up to Senator Clinton. It is up to her to decide if she wishes to place her name in nomination. The Call to the Convention, adopted by the DNC, states:

Each such request must be accompanied by a petition indicating support for the proposed nominee signed by delegates representing not less than 300 or more than 600 delegate votes, not more than 50 of which may come from one (1) delegation. What I conclude from this is that we do have hope. However, the text specifically says “temporary” rules of procedures. So that doesn’t rule out sabotage by Obama and the DNC.
Someone must nominate Hillary, and she must agree to have her name placed in nomination.
And at least 300 delegates must sign an accompanying petition. (Presumably, if any of those delegates are from Florida or Michigan, they only count for half.)
So as I wrote in the beginning, if we write letters to delegates and superdelegates who support Hillary and ask them to sign a petition, it may be the best way to guarantee that Hilary’s name is placed in nomination at the convention.

78,600 Just Say No Deal Emails In 3 Days!
Good & Bad News This Morning!
Our ‘Last Stand’ Email Initiative For Puma Democrats bypassed the 78,000 Email mark last night during just 3 days of operation. This morning we have updated the Superdelegate emails within the system to target a second group of Supers. We did leave in place the email addresses of 11 party leaders such as Pelosi, Reid and Dean, so that they feel the full force of the initiative to reform the party and put Hillary Clinton’s name in nomination at next months convention. We currently plan on updating the list again in 3 days so please be sure to check back.
Now the bad news, maintaining the list and site takes a great deal of effort and time, along with the extra costs I am incurring due to the volume of submissions. On Friday, the Obamabots began spam commenting this and certain other posts on the site, along with overloading my contact email in an effort to disrupt our efforts. Comment moderation has been turned on within certain posts, but the time and effort is disrupting my schedule. Please be sure to pass the link on to other Just Say No Deal sites and encourage them to participate right away. Currently we received just a handful of small donations from the thousands of individuals that have participated in our initiative. I don’t know. The text sent to me by my contact says “delegate” versus “superdelegate.” It also refers to votes being from a “delegation,” which suggests to me from a “state.” So I’m inclined to think it could be any delegates. But that’s just a guess.

I have read your letter where you confess to feeling “a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who
continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support.”
My understanding is that a democracy is by definition “government by the people in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.” One of the hallmarks of a democracy is free and FAIR elections. There was so much unfairness in the 2008 democratic primary that it makes my stomach turn. I fail to understand how you, as elected officals, did not see that.
Am I now supposed to just go away? Is that a proper response to a travesty of justice. I think not. If I allow my vote to be dismissed by anyone in an elected capacity, I believe that this country is headed for tyrannical rule. I will not allow that.
I will exercise my right to dissent in every way that I can. Maybe you need to take a course in what a democracy is.

I feel your pain. I am a native Texan and I have watched my state turn red early on election night the last few decades. Overall, Texans are very conservative. Republican. Suspicious. You have to remember that at one time we were our own republic – pride and stubborness run deep.
I can easily imagine many people in Texas not supporting Hillary because she’s a woman. I can also easily imagine them not supprting BO because he’s black.
Just keep informing them as best you can that the Democratic Party nomination is NOT decided yet and that their opinion has a voice at pumapacusa.org or by writing to superdelegates and the DNC.

Finished my daily growl and left a comment at Tom’s new article as well. I agree, Sandi, he IS a nice man. He left me a personalized thank you from Friday’s comments.
I also think he has a point. Nothing worse than seeing juvenille comments, accept, perhaps, when they entice someone into carrying on a juvenille argument with them. :/ I don’t have time or patience for that stuff, and so try and avoid it.
On another note: I need help with some information Puma’s.
I’m putting together a flyer with another Puma and have decided to talk about FISA, Gun-control, Iraq and Nafta. I need dates for when Obama voted or spoke in opposition to his previously stated policy. I also need dates and information for Senator Clinton’s policy in these matters. Vote dates are great, because they’re proof and irrefutable.
Alright, well, if anyone’s got a database of information they can run through for me? I’ve tried searching these things out and get too many opinion websites I can’t get the juice.

TOPIC: The Iraq Vote
Everyone here knows how the vote on going to war with Iraq has really plagued our candidate. I bring this up as a good friend of mine (& smart person) thought that Obama had voted against Iraq yet, Obama wasn’t even a Senator yet.
So please remind friends & Obots of this fact.
In addition, Hillary & Bill Clinton have very close friends and allies in Joe Wilson & Valerie Plame. Joe Wilson, you’ll recall, went to Iraq to see if Sadaam had WMD’s and determined there was no yellow cake uranium to be found. He then went & wrote an article in the NY Times stating as such.
This exposure of bad foreign policy did not go over well w/Cheney.
It was after this point in time that Bush/ Cheney and Scooter Libby “outed” Plame’s identity by giving her CIA identity to members of the MSM.
In short, anyone with half a brain can deduce that Hillary made the vote that she did because she, like so many other elected officials, were fed bad intel by Cheney & Company. If she still truly believed in going to war she would never have become such close friends w/ Plame & Wilson.
Food for thought.

I have read and re-read your letter regarding the presumptive loss of Hillary Clinton to the presumptive nominee, Barack Obama. I am truly sorry for your fatigue and irritation. Can you imagine the fatigue and irritation that the Democratic voters have at this point? Let’s see…Michigan/Florida, sexism, caucus issues and voter fraud are just a few of the irritations we have. At the end of all of this, what we have is a poor candidate in Barack Obama. Let’s see…inexperience, Rev. Wright, flip-flops, the refusal to debate and his unclear political position. Who is he? What does he represent ? Where is his accountability in the current divide among democratic voters? A sad state of affairs.
I do need to address your sports analogy as someone who watches more games than I can count, whether they be professional, school teams, or town leagues. Did you ever notice that there are rules that are applied and a code of conduct regarding team play. Some call it fair play. I can characterize the primary season as a series of bad calls. Time to fire the commissioner and the refs.
What is astounding to me is that you feel that all of this is OK with you. Well, a broken Democratic party is not OK with me. The current condition is not OK for all of those who still believe that their vote counts and that democracy still has meaning in this country. It is not OK that the best candidate was thrown under a bus.
I will not squander my vote, nor will it be given lightly. Do not underestimate all those who will go to the polls in November.

It’s only a “little” meanspirited
So many of my friends tell me that Obama IS the nominee, is that so? If you don’t mind my asking, why the hell are we having a convention for then? Seems like a waste of money to me, we have our nominee, lets move on then. But wait! Of course there has to be a convention! That’s how all primaries officially end…the winner and the loser must come together in a show of unity in order to heal and prepare themselves for the upcoming fight…there’s just one problem: Our winner and our loser have been mixed up.
Our winner isn’t the winner…and our loser didn’t lose. Let me rephrase that: Obama isn’t the winner, he’s the selected nominee (thanks to the DNC’s disregard of the rules.) Senator Clinton didn’t lose, in fact, had the members of the DNC actually been able to understand their own rules, Senator Clinton would already be our nominee and we’d already have the White House in the palm of our hands. But no…the DNC finds the shiny, inexperienced candidate amusing and wants to keep him around (he’s like a puppy, cute and new…for now.) But what happens when that puppy feels threatened? Well, THIS puppy hasn’t been around long enough to have the proper training, so…at some point he’s going to bite the hand that feeds him.
I almost feel sorry for the DNC (ALMOST.) Think about it: They chose the candidate who was breaking fundraising records. They believed he would raise enormous amounts of money for them…its too bad his supporters don’t give a damn about the DNC. So the convention is fast approaching, the DNC doesn’t have enough money to pay for it, and their puppy (who apparently isn’t housebroken) is pissing all over the carpet of Democracy by suggesting that he’d like to give his acceptance speech in a football stadium. Why? He claims he wants more people to be able to witness the event. The real reason: He wants Senator Clinton’s supporters to be silenced. What better way than to bring in 50,000 (or more) of your own supporters?
As for certain members of the DNC (Brazile, Dean, Pelosi) well, Brazile is just bitter because Gore lost the election and she blames the Clintons (even though she’s the one who didn’t want them to help out.) Dean is just bitter because he didn’t win the nomination and, in some odd way, sees a bit of himself in Obama (perhaps the ignorant, over the top, baffoon part?) And Pelosi? Well, she’s just bitter because when Senator Clinton wins her nomination back (and then wins the White House) Pelosi will no longer be the most powerful woman in America…she’ll be the second most powerful woman (if Senator Clinton keeps her around.)
Are Senator Clinton’s supporters really bitter? No, we’re all pissed off. We’re pissed for good reason: OUR nomination was stolen from us. OUR chance at having a world class, exceptionally intelligent President in OUR corner has all but been eliminated. Now the DNC wants us to fall in line behind Obama, give him (and them) money, and forget Senator Clinton ever ran…it’s too bad (for them) we’ve been given something from Senator Clinton that Obama will never be able to replace…something pure and noble (odd terms to use while speaking of a politician) we’ve been given LOVE. A love without conditions, this woman loves us for who we are…individual, average, American. Obama loves his supporter’s money…he’s already thrown them under the bus…Who’s next?
So the next time someone tells you to “Get over it,” tell them where they can stick their ego…in the same place their heads are…up Obama’s ass.
And that, my friends, is why this PUMA will NEVER vote for the counterfeit candidate. Senator Clinton (my senator) not only DESERVES this nomination, she already WON it.

1. Obama Opposes California’s Marriage Protection Act
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has come out in opposition to the California ballot initiative that would amend the state’s Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
In a letter sent to the Alice B. Toklas L.G.B.T. Democratic Club, a San Francisco gay rights group, Obama declared: “I oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the U.S. Constitution or those of other states.”
The California Marriage Protection Act, which will appear on the state’s November ballot, asserts: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”
The move to amend California’s Constitution came after the May 15 decision by the state’s Supreme Court that gave same-sex couples the right to marry.
While Obama opposes the initiative, he remains opposed to same-sex marriage, the New York Times reported. He does support civil unions and domestic partnerships.
Obama expressed opposition to the amendment, on the ballot as Proposition 8, because “as we have seen in some states, enshrining a definition of marriage into the constitution can allow states to roll back the civil rights and benefits that are provided in domestic partnerships and civil unions,” campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt told The Times.
Obama’s presumptive Republican rival John McCain announced his support for the initiative last month.
A Los Angeles Times/KTLA poll conducted shortly after the California Supreme Court decision found that 54 percent of registered voters surveyed supported the amendment, and 35 percent said they opposed it.
Among voters who said they did not know a friend, family member or co-worker who is gay, 70 percent supported the amendment.
2. McCain’s Campaign Mimicking Hillary’s
John McCain appears to be running the same campaign against Barack Obama that failed Hillary Clinton.
But that might not be all bad.
John Heilemann writes in New York magazine: “In ways large and small, strategic and tactical, temperamental and attitudinal, the McCain campaign strikes me as having been cut from the same cloth as Hillary Clinton’s.”
The story is headlined, “McCain’s Hillary Problem — He’s running her same campaign. And she lost.”
But Heilemann notes that general elections are very different from primaries, and for Barack Obama “there are reasons to worry that Clintonianism, taken to its logical (and gruesome) extreme, may serve McCain better than it did the real McCoy.”
The McCain and Clinton campaigns have been similar in stressing experience and avoiding “big, bold animating ideas and grand thematics,” the writer observes.
According to Heilemann, the McCain camp believes the fall election will largely be a referendum on Obama: Will voters trust him enough to elect him president?
McCain and Clinton share the view that Obama is “a lightweight, that he’s a line-cutter, that he’s arrogant, elitist, all talk no action,” Heilemann writes.
“And that perspective is evident in the campaign that McCain and the Republicans more broadly are running against Obama. In tone and substance, once again, the similarities to the broadsides that Clinton and her people launched against him are striking.”
But it might be pointed out that following in Hillary’s footsteps could prove to be a wily move come November.
While Obama amassed many of his delegates in states that have been staunchly Republican in recent general elections, Hillary won almost every big state, including Florida, Ohio, California, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. She also won a majority of the Latino vote and finished strong by winning six of the last nine primaries.
McCain, then, could well be targeting the traditional Democratic voters in these states who opted for Clinton over Obama.
3. Lieberman’s Support for McCain Worries Jews
Jewish Democrats are concerned that Sen. Joe Lieberman’s backing of Republican John McCain for president will hurt their party’s nominee among Jewish voters.
Lieberman, an independent Democrat and one of the most prominent Jewish members of Congress, “has sought to drive Jews … further from presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama,” The Hill newspaper observed.
Lieberman raised Democrats’ ire when, after Obama secured the nomination, he took part in a conference call organized by the McCain campaign in which he criticized Obama for appearing to blame the current tension between Israel and Iran on American foreign policy.
“I’m certainly disappointed that he would be such an active part of the [McCain] campaign,” said Jewish lawmaker Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois.
“I feel disappointed as a Jew, but primarily as a Democrat, and around a whole myriad of issues.”
According to The Hill, Lieberman’s efforts include “convincing Jewish leaders to back McCain, even if it means making the case that Obama would not be the leader Israel would want.”
4. Obama Widens Lead in California
Democrat Barack Obama has opened up a huge lead over Republican presidential rival John McCain in the nation’s most populous state, California.
The latest statewide poll conducted by the Field organization shows Obama with a 24-percentage-point lead, getting 54 percent of the vote to McCain’s 30 percent.
Obama’s lead in May was 17 points, and in January, just 7 points.
The Field poll conducted from July 8 to July 14 also found that 51 percent of Obama’s supporters are very enthusiastic about the candidate, compared to only 17 percent of McCain’s backers who are very enthusiastic about the Republican.
Among independent voters, Obama led 64 percent to 18 percent.
McCain has insisted that he will contest California in the general election.
“But most political observers believe that vow reflects a desire to keep voters and donors happy rather than any serious intention to compete in California, where running statewide ads costs millions of dollars per week that can be more optimistically spent elsewhere,” Cathleen Decker writes in the Top of the Ticket blog at LATimes.com.
In 2004, Democrat John Kerry beat George Bush by 10 points in California.
Hillary Clinton garnered support from women and Latino voters to beat Obama in the California primary, but both of those demographic groups support Obama over McCain by a wide margin in the latest poll.

One Voice
The man stood at his hand-carved writing desk, contemplating the empty parchment in front of him. On this parchment he had agreed to write a proclamation to be delivered to the King, his courtiers, and officers. The man understood the words he put forth on the canvas before him would forever alter his existence in the world.
He was jeopardizing everything he owned and held sacred. The beautiful estate he designed and furnished with artifacts from the world over, the gardens he had tended and nurtured would surely be confiscated. His servants would soon be cast out without the work they needed to survive. His beloved wife and children would relinquish the comforts they had always known.
Clearly by writing this document, he risked being imprisoned or hung from the gallows. He would be publicly humiliated in front of his wife and his children and all of the community that now looked upon him as a man of high position. His wife would take to working in the households of the nobles, provided they would take her at all. His children’s future would be horribly altered; his daughters left with few prospects to marry and his sons left to labor instead of leading the privileged life of a gentleman in his society. Indeed, once he finished putting ink to this parchment, his life as he knew it would end.
When he had put down but a few words, he was compelled to stop. He had called the King a Tyrant. Had he gone mad for provoking what would be a vehement and deadly response? Then as though he had been possessed, the words inspired by other voices of dissent, came so rapidly his hands could hardly keep pace with his mind. Thank you SHeila7 – as I told Trish – what evil is after me – I can do the job – I know how to surf the web and get the information – but when I try to get any information on anything political – it comes up with the Page Can not be found – even with Gallup poll information – however, I can type in houseboat rentals, car rentals, vacation hot spots, restaurants and not a problem – just let me try to find anything that has super or delegates in it and I am blocked – even tried SUPERMAN – and it would not let me get into the meat of the subject – thats why I am frustrated – either I have been pegged as an activist or something evil is trying to stop me from good – and if that is the case – look out this vampire knows no limits – I only have a few left – so I will struggle through – just did not want to let the team down with what is going on today – in 9 hours – only got through to about 10 of them – not very good odds.

Under Tools, select Internet Options, them Browsing History, then Delete to clean out your temporary files, etc. This may have been what Maryland Puma was referring to.

If your PC is slow, I have a simple question; when was the last time you defrag your HD? Defrag your HD at least once a week especially when you’re doing a lot of work like graphics or videos like I do. Empty your cache once a day. Use your utilities to fix problems of your PC.

Have you run a spyware and anti-virus scan?
I highly recommend that ALL PUMAs do this at least once a week, if not daily.
Not being that computer savvy – heck I still use the old 45 records with the record player and the arm – and an underwood typewriter than is older than most people here – anyway – is it possible that this is an internet provider’s problem going on with my searching – maybe those sites that have a lot of information on them can not be picked up for some reason – and those that are simple like a restaurant – movie theatre and not much popups or pages I can bring up – the internet provider here has been up and down for the last four days with some problems with their something or other – could this be possible???

In most Windows systems, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools.
There is a Defrag in there and a System Cleanup (takes care of non-essential temp files clogging up your pc)

Ok here’s how to do it….step by step
1. Click START
2. ALL PROGRAMS
3. CLICK ACCESSORIES
4. CLICK SYSTEM TOOLS
5. CLICK DISK CLEANUP (first thing you must do before defragging your HD, remove the garbage)
6. go back to #3 and #4, click DISK DEFRAGMENTER
Default for defrag starts with your CDRIVE, click ANALYZE, after its done. click DEFRAG..thats it.
I asked for some information in post 606. Still haven’t gotten any help on obtaining this stuff….

I was wondering since the Action center is so attached to the forum and our work could we have it more accessable and easer to see by using an image button or clickable image on the side bar. You can add it to the master page or what ever you call it in your web development software and then have it accessable on every page automatically. Just a thought

Good evening, I just read the Tom abrahams article, I then clicked on the link to the anti-puma site ( sorry I don’t recall the name). Over at that site they talk frequently of the hate that they believe comes from this site, it certainly looks as if they partake in a bit of hatred as well. There is a lot of talk that the pumas are being manipulated by a republican agenda, I can assure them that I am not a republican, rather a free thinking democrat that believes Obama to be harmful. I can not and will not vote for Obama simply because I am a democrat. What then would become of my principles? Am I as a democrat still entitled to my own beliefs? Should I just follow blindly, simply because I am a democrat? Sounds very counterproductive to me. I own my vote not the democratic party! I own my thoughts, feelings and beliefs and they are not for sale. Put forth a candidate that shares my values and I will gladly share my vote with you, until that time you can count me out.
