Declaration of Sentiments
written and revised by Annabelle at Peacocks and Lilies and the Seneca 160 Committee.
On this, the 160th anniversary of the Women’s Conference at Seneca Falls, New York, and in accordance with the
Declaration of Sentiments of 1848, We The People reaffirm that all men and all women are created equal.
We reaffirm; that we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights governments are instituted, deriving their just powers from
the consent of the governed.
We reaffirm; that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of those who
suffer from it to refuse allegiance to it, and to insist upon the institution of a new government, laying its foundation
on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety
and happiness.
We reaffirm; that the history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward
woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over her.
In light of this history, and in the understanding that men and women must be banded together in common cause to
change the course of this history, we affirm that:
Women’s rights are human rights, and human rights are women’s rights.
We are obligated to stand up and protect the rights of all people, regardless of gender, skin color, religion, sexual
orientation, nationality, or creed, to live in a society that upholds equality, freedom, and justice.
All people have a right to receive equal pay for equal work, have the freedom to share their lives with the partners of
their choice, and have access to the same opportunities for employment.
Every citizen of the United States of America is entitled to equal protection under the Constitution of the United
States.
No political body operating under the Constitution of the United States possesses the power or authority to violate
the rights of citizens protected by that Constitution.
Every vote cast by an eligible voter must be counted, and every vote cast and counted must be reflected fairly.
Every citizen of the world must be recognized as being in possession of the same inalienable human rights; to live
free from emotional, economic, religious, sexual, political, and physical oppression.
Firmly relying upon the final triumph of the Right and the True, we do this day affix our signatures to this
Declaration.

As I come close to wrapping up a week of stories about PUMA (People United Means Action, or Party Unity My Ass, or Pelting Unicorns Mit Acorns), I was hoping to have reached a state of Nirvana by now, in which I would clearly see that up really was down, and voting for John McCain was the way to strike a blow for women everywhere. After meeting (virtually) Darragh Murphy, the founder of PUMAPAC, and dipping a toe into the Just Say No Deal coalition’s cyber-pool, I was starting to feel like part of the gang.
But, then, I was contacted by Christina Cedeno, also known as The Anti-PUMA. She has put together a website that aims to act as smelling salts to those in a PUMA trance. The 22 year-old preschool teacher says she can’t wait to get mic’ed up and throw down with a real live PUMA. She says there aren’t that many of them.

MO appears so insincere in her words and actions. You can tell they have been working on her. In the early days of the campaign she would grit her teeth and roll her eyes during his speeches. You could tell she so disagreed with what he was saying.

As the anniversary of the Senica Falls convention is upon us, my thoughts wander beyond our current fight. This election in 2008 is truly historic. Not only did we have our first viable female candidate, but women have begun to participate in ways we never thought of before. The issue is not that a woman be at the helm for a woman being at the helm’s sake, rather that we, the people, need competent government. We elected a competent candidate who happens to be a woman.
I believe the issues we face are not just gender related. They certainly are not race related. They are people issues. We Democrats, have let common sense and competence be pushed aside for party unity many times before. It has yeilded us the likes of Dukakis, Kerry, Mondale and now Obama.
The truth is: The party has always had a destructive element. The back door deal has always been a shadow lurking just behind the curtain. The good ol boys club has always been part and parcel of our existence. The powers in the party accepted it, even nurtured it, using it for personal gain and issue success.
Now the time has come when we can no longer accept the status quo. The will of the people as defined by the one person one vote principle has been disregarded. Moreover, the will of the people has been disregarded since the first election of this century, both in the general election of 2000, and now in the Democratic Primary of 2008.
This fight and our movement isn’t just about the candidates. It is about our party, and in extension, about our nation and the world. We must not lose the fight for the soul of our people. We must not lose the principle of one person, one vote. We must insist on the allowance of participation by all, participation that counts equally with all others’ participation.
The women who gathered in protest to try to obtain the vote stood on just such a principle. They prevailed. It was a long hard battle, but they prevailed. The civil rights movement and voting rights reforms of the 1960’s were successful, and the people prevailed.
We must not go back to the deal making, behind doors double dealing of the precivil rights era. We must go forward, undoing the damage that was recently done; restoring our party to the principles it purports to stand for so that our nation can recover from the blows heaped upon it by the current people in power.

Would I cry me a river if Obama were elected -NO. Will I dance by the light of the moon if McCain is President -OF COURSE NOT. So while both major parties are being increasingly hijacked by the opposing extremist elements -and the never-ending partisan brawl drags on without a break in sight, is it any wonder that the majority of Americans NEVER bother to vote!! {oh yes we hear all about the tens of 1000s of new voters being registered this year -a mere raindrop in the barrel to the hundreds of millions of those who chose to forgo the melodrama and prepare to hunker down for another 4yrs… the poor, the elderly, the disabled, the weekend/evening/swing workers, single mothers, struggling parents, grandparents trying to raise their grandkids, the list is endless = ie ALL the Americans who for one reason or another don’t have “the means and the LUXURY of attending a CAUCUS” which is held only at a specific time and at very limited locations. Did not vet Obama. Protected and promoted Obama. Never covered his resume, background, or Chicago life accurately. Media never called him on his huge, obvious, blatant lies. Media actually regarded him in terms of a Christ-like figure. Media used sexism and misogyny freely against Hillary (thereby all women). Media pushed theory that misogyny is nothing compared to racism. Media pushed that Hillary supporters were uneducated and racist. Media called for Hillary to quit since Iowa, and that is unprecedented. Media via Obama’s camp pushed that Senator Clinton and former President Clinton were racists. Online media, such as big blogs, censored and attacked Hillary supporters, and the online media was just as bad, if not worse than mainstream media. Wacky inaccurate polls showing Obama winning huge but then Hillary winning. Why would the majority of the media “be in the tank” for Obama? Is it possible that only 6% of the media is owned by women and maybe it’s a sexist business: yes. Is it possible that media consolidation, in which only a few very wealthy people, billionaires, each own huge chunks of magazines, newspapers, and TV shows…and their agenda is to push their personal politics via the media? Yes. Is it possible that people were bought off or promised favors? Yes.
**Never trust the media when they are so obviously pushing PROPAGANDA: it is half the reason why we went to war.

The never called out the media for crossing the line with racist accusations, and also their misogyny, and crowning of Obama. Howard Dean, Pelosi, Kerry, Kennedy,et al, etc etc calling for Hillary to stop, or insulting her, or insulting her supporters, and all the while putting HIGH pressure on superdelegates to endorse their candidate, AGAIN: totally unprecedented, the superdelegates vote in August, and they can change their minds whenever they want, however they were pressured to choose, and to choose Obama. Furthermore: superdelegates went against their own state’s wishes. Hillary would win a state like Mass, and Kerry and Kennedy would immediately come out to endorse Obama, and that is antithetical to their position. Superdelegates also came out to endorse every time Obama had a very bad time, like Wright= Richardson endorsement. W. Virginia= Edwards, and on and on. It felt like they were pocket supers and there was a rigging, frankly.
**Always look to a deeper question on why one candidate is seemingly pre-chosen: is it possible that money is behind it? Is it possible that candidates are pre-chosen–as in groomed, and protected and promoted? Is it possible that careers were threatened in that cold political way? Is it possible that politicians are crooked and greedy and do not have the best interests in mind for America as a nation? Yes. Is it possible that politicians are forced to give favors in order to survive in politics. Yes.

Ok, these two things alone were very apparent to hard-core Hillary supporters. Then:
___The VOTES: May 31, 2008
Throw in the rules and bylaws committee, not only had the states been erased (which was never in the rules: half a vote was always and ONLY the rules), they then severed the two states Hillary won by half, and claimed that to be a gift, when it was always the rules in the first place, but THEN they also handed over MI delegates to Obama, even though he removed himself from the ticket because the polls showed he would lose. He was even on the ticket: they gave him delegates. That’s now not only silencing votes but stealing votes. AND: it was determined in part by Donna Brazille who was so obviously pro-Obama on CNN and elsewhere, yet one who claimed to be neutral. So, she had a “neutral” vote, and that was not the truth. Brazille also stated that she did not need Hillary’s voters for Obama to win, she said it was a new party. Ok, dumb thing to say. Also, the entire rules committee had a behind the scenes closed door meeting the whole night before. Who knows what went down. The public was shut out.
Then, there are the wowers:
Obama won states by caucus, when they matter very little in the general election. So we would see a small red republican state won by caucus to Obama, when a large blue dem state that voted 300% higher would matter LESS than a pumy amount of people at a caucus. Very backwards, also unfair since Hillary voters were not the bloc of people likely to make it to caucuses in the day time. Also, our military overseas, our citizens overseas, homebound people, and hospitalized people, etc, can not make it to caucuses–obviously. That’s not right, anyway, but Obama’s moveon crowd bussed his voters in to precincts, and we now know that Hillary voters were lied to, re-routed to a non-location, and also locked out of venues, or told that there were cancellations, or the environment was so mosh-pit like, people left or experienced hell, so while Hillary dems were getting shut out, Obama supporters were allowed to stroll in after shut-door time. There are many cases of suspected voting fraud, in many precincts as well, and there will be more info on that.
***Hillary won the popular vote, MI and FL do count. Hillary won the major big blue dem states. Hillary won the major purple swing states. Hillary polled toward the electoral college showed Hillary beating McCain and big, and McCain beating Obama big. Hillary gathered the majority of the dem party voting blocs. Hillary was outspent 4 to 1, while having the media and her party attacking her, and she still kept winning. There ALSO exit polls showing that way more Hillary dems would NOT vote for Obama compared to Obama voters who would not vote for Hillary if she won. Throw in that Hillary has more experience and she’s an actual true democrat with democratic principles: Hillary was and still is the one to beat McCain. It’s just logical.
–So, for those many reasons I am indignant over the Media, the dem party elite, and the dem party manipulations as a whole. I feel that Obama was selected and not elected. I feel that it was just politically fixed and maneuvered in such an obvious and shameless manner…I will not be FORCED to vote a certain way. The dem party has a lot of cleaning up to do, and if WE don’t do it? WHO WILL? WHO? The American people need to rein in politicians when they get too much power. They ARE working for US. WE are their bosses!! A couple of hundred rich elites should not be in control of our destiny, especially when they do not vote in line of the will of those who voted in their own states, people who elected them! It can’t be that way, the people should have the word.
–Anyway, I can add a lot more, but there the media and the dem party complaint in a nutshell.

And, I didn’t even mention why I will not vote for Obama because of OBAMA yet!! My gawd he is a total fraud, from his upbringing, to his “present” votes, to his voting for Bush’s FISA bill, and Cheney’s energy bill, and planning on expanding Bush’s faith based programs (separation of church and state!) to receiving money from convicted Tony Rezko, a man who also raised 3 million for BUSH in Chicago for his second term….from the bogus policies Obama claims are his, while his votes show the opposite, to promising one group one thing and then opposite group what they want, and on and on, I could write a book. LITERALLY write a book on how much Obama has lied, and on how false he is, and how he is just a groomed and boosted politician who is actually just an opportunist, and a foolishly ruthless man, someone who has made so many promises, I don’t even know what he’d have to do as far as favors in return–political quid pro quo. Beyond that, he is intolerably arrogant–he’s bordering on megalomania, which is heinously dangerous.
Also, I do NOT see Obama as a democrat–AT ALL! I see him as a man who is confused and drunk on power, someone who wants to change America because he hates America and I’m not sure that he actually wants to make America better or if he simply wants to destroy capitalism, or maybe he is totally corporate/ republican minded for himself, or maybe he is a communist, or maybe he is anti-Israel and wants to start a war in some dumb way, maybe he wants to flip flop our allies for our enemies, maybe he wants to ban guns and start up a USA-style gestapo, or maybe he hates white people and wants to force them to pay reparations, or maybe he hates black people since he let them live in 30 degrees below zero Chicago winters for two months, or maybe he wants to rule the world, or maybe he is a sociopath, or maybe he is just a puppet. On and on.
—BOTTOM LINE: People do not trust him. He won’t win in the end because the media never reported enough about what people know, so they see it as a cover-up. All things should have been covered thoroughly and if they were false–prove it, all of that should have happened over 6 months ago. He’s been jammed down people’s throats, people run away from that, and we can see that others embrace and do not question.
There is not one reason for me to trust Obama, NOT ONE. He’s a pathological liar, and he barely has a record, and what little he does have is actually awful. Also, I’m tired of the bogus theory that Obama is stopping any war–like there would be peace. He wants us in Iraq for the next two years, and then refocus our military on fighting in Afghanistan. War is war no matter where. Looks like we will be at war for at least 5 years longer with either McCain or Obama.
Ok, you know I can add a lot more, and with details, etc. I am done. I’ve said what I have to say on this.
Henrietta - I think you have touched on the chord that is vibrating the most in the midst of all the work we are doing here–we are rebirthing this constitution, evolving it as well to include the new world order and millions of disenfranchised. What started out as outrage for a worthy candidate’s dismissal and her voters has become a call to wake up America to our constitutional purpose and the moral ethics of basic respect to the multitude of voters.

Then I’ll send letters to European newspapers pointing out the obvious ( to us at least ): that Obama is a PRESUMPTIVE nominee, that many Americans oppose him, and that he’s using the citizens and media of other countries to furthur his own agenda. i think many of them are from the ME generation. We all saw them grow up and were focused only on themselves. Those are the people who entered the workforce expecting to be Management on day one. They were never told you work your way up the ladder and they were greatly disillusioned when reality hit. I love interviewing these kids and asking their salary expectations, many want more than the bosses make. But the best part is watching them open their first pay and seeing their eyes cross when they realize their is this little thing called taxes.
OK and I agree with Lin4Hill regarding comments in the European newspapers - back in the old HRC days - Wizard and a couple of others did that and the whiner complained that the reason he did not go to West Virginia and Kentucky was because of the negative posts and media attention there - lets help him out a little.

if you want to add text above what you have pasted go in front of first pasted piece and hit return a couple of times. You can then move your cursor back up to the freed up space and add your comments.

This is going to be my first and last post. I came to check out your group at the recommendation of my dear friend MarylandPUMA. She has been so excited to be part of your movement that I wanted to see for myself the “great group of women” she is always talking about. I disagree with your position, but because I know MarylandPUMA to be an intelligent woman I wanted to give you all a look-see out of respect for her.
All was well until I got to Murphy’s post this morning about one of her detractors being a “piece of shit”, and her supporters “shit-flies”. I was stunned. This is how a woman smart enough to put a group like this together responds to adversity? With name calling and vulgarity? On a public site where I’d think she’d want to make a good impression on folks like me visiting for the first time? Well, she made an impression, but it was far from good. There is so much low-class mud-slinging going on in politics right now, I was hoping this group would be above it. Hello-I just returned from the Seneca160 breakfast for Hillary in Seneca Falls NY. It was held in conjunction with the Convention Days celebrating the 160th anniversary of the First Women’s Rights Convention. As Jane-pa said, it was great to be with other like-minded people and where vocal support of Hillary was accepted and encouraged. Heidi Li of Heidi Li Potpourri blog and cofounder of the Denver Group was interesting and invigorating, as always! I hope as many of us as possible will meet each other in Denver and show the Democratic Party, our country and people around the world that there are still people in our country who are standing up for true democratic principles and demand to be heard and counted.

Murphy, the reason I posted that about sending it to others, including Obama’s campaign HQ, was that when I made my calls yesterday to the Chairs of the DNC, I had a 20″ conversation with a man who answered the phone and he thought the whole process was flawed. He was the one who suggested contacting Obama’s HQ because he said sooner or later BO would have to confront the idea that he can’t win the Hillary supporters and that her name must be put in nomination.
Along with that, we need to send them the hate we are receiving.
Also, here’s an e-mail I got from Ricki Lieberman, I’m sure she has really bad ones which we need to get from her.

I lead a very quiet life. Sometimes days go by and the phone never rings, not even from tele-marketing. Today, however, starting just after 4pm, I received a steady stream of calls from Texas (many), Vermont, Denver, somewhere in the south, New York, Eddie, Jeff Wood, Donna Charett, John Doe, pre-recorded music, and more hang ups than I can count. Those who spoke warned me not to say anything against Obama, to stop sending emails ‘defaming’ the ‘chosen candidate’. Several were quite threatening in tone, a couple obscene. Some folks thought I ought to “go back to where I came from”. Others said I was not a real American.
One guy asked me to cry and whine. When we tried to take a message or a number to return the calls, the callers turned abusive and slammed down the phone. At one point it got so absurd that we could not stop giggling.
Then by 6:00 the calls had stopped. On to the next target.
As Maureen Dowd wrote this morning: “Don’t mess with our messiah!”
Sigh. These are not nice people.

Maybe, we need to be challenging his supporters more creatively. If they won’t help him increase his voter pool (=$donors$) and they start having “party identity” issues with voters, NOW, that is when the congressional seats are impacted.
Point 3: The DNC is thinking they can deal with his “power-mongering” later.
His problem between now and the convention needs to be that:
1) he is a real detriment to legislative seats and in future elections.
2) his supporters realize this man is out of control over thinking he can control everyone by the power of using their money - and investing any of it in their good: (FISA, Iraq War, Reversing Welfare Reform - which he was against the reform bill, etc., etc., etc)

I still believe we should be trying to hit the swing states with information such as Hillary has just suspended not conceded. That the Super Delegates real vote is not made until the convention, that the Super Delegates job at voting for a nominee is to select the one that is best qualified to beat John McCain. That Obama is not experience enough to go up against John McCain and that his short over glamorized resume proves he should not have made Senator, let alone letting him become the Democratic Party nominee. Then to go on to mention Hillary’s 35 years experience her accomplishments in her crusade for women, children and post Gulf War vets. Maybe we can then target newspapers in the swing states with smaller page ads or even use cable target marketing which is much cheaper spot TV advertising (designed to be cost effective to small business owners) to reach people with this information in swing states.

I read that comment by Katherine… and I want to offer the observation that before the PUMA movement and the JSND coalition officially got underway — I found myself constantly surfing Main Stream articles for information. I often read the links from AOL and Yahoo news. I would also always read the comments to get a sense of how many people out there felt the same as I do. Two people would always comment with ideas that were extremely PUMA-like in nature. One person is this Katherine lady and another is someone with the username Davidg. To this day — I always hope that both of them are now part of our JSND coalition… and still always look for comments from them. They do an awesome job in presenting valid points.

Picture this:
A man stands in front of a large group of people as he pokes fun at his own countrymen. He jokes about their inabilities when it comes to speaking another language. Sounds harmless, doesn’t it? But it isn’t, for this man is not only an “American” making fun of his “fellow” Americans. This is an “American” making fun of his “fellow” Americans while in another country. He carries on with this carping attack on the average American’s inablity to speak more than one language. And he does so as a PRESUMPTIVE “DEMOCRATIC” nominee.
This shows disrespect on so many levels. This man holds the average American, the core of this country, in contempt simply for not possessing an arsenal of linguistic skills. In doing so, he has not only voiced his belief that the core of this country, the backbone of this nation, is uneducated, he has also shown everyone present that he condones such criticism of his own people. Is this the kind of person we want in the highest office in the world?
I am not alone in my frustrations over this man’s free ride. He seems to show little to no regard for the average American. It’s a sad time to be in America, when your voice is silenced by those you chose to represent you. These people you voted in to ensure your opinion would be heard and considered. It’s these very people who are now our enemy. Democracy is thrown to the wolves and the hounds have been sent on the attack…but the PUMAS continue to be on the prowl, lurking in the shadows, awaiting the next opportunity to strike back.
The average American, the majority of this country, those who fight more battles on a daily basis than a single person should ever have to, have but 2 people in their corner…2 people who have never left their side. 2 people who want nothing more than to better the lives of each and every one of us…the Clintons are still our allies. They have been baited, attacked, all but pushed off the planet…and through it all, they are more than ready to step back in the ring…for US.
The PRESUMPTIVE “DEMOCRATIC” nominee has repeatedly shown where he stands with the average American. So many of his supporters have been thrown under the bus in an effort for him to gain momentum (a failed attempt, but one that should not go unnoticed.) One wonders if this is his way of disposing of what he considers “dead weight.”
Only one person is ready to lead us into a better tomorrow. Only one person can pick up the pieces and reshape this country into the strong, respected force it used to be. Only one person wants to be the President for the people. And that one person is being ignored by her party, she is fighting in order to keep hope alive that her name will be placed on the ballot for nomination at the convention. She’s been fighting for us for a long time, her entire career has been one uphill battle after another. Do we really think she’ll give up the fight and take the lesser job under the counterfeit candidate? Do we really believe she not longer possesses the fighting spirit we so admire? Do we really think she’s done?
I for one do not believe she is giving up the fight. The battle has yet to be lost, the calls for unity by the opposition will never be answered. If we had to vote today, we would have to choose between two Republicans. But when we vote tomorrow, we will choose between a Republican and the greatest possible choice for President of the United States of America.

I’ve seen several of your comments today which say you ought to contact European newspapers.
As I promised two days ago, I’ve written to a lot of French papers, TV channels, radios, and internet medias, to let them know about what is happening in your beautiful country.
I’ve told them about you, Pumas, your goals, your action, and about the Denver group, strongly advising them to get informed, and to stop telling everybody in France that Obama is the sure winner in November.
I’ve explained that his trip to Afghanistan, Iraq, the Middle East and Europe was intended for American people only (40 journalists will be accompanying him, as if he were already president : that is INCREDIBLE !) ; that he only wants to reassure voters who don’t trust him (polls showing that people do not think he would be a reliable commander-in-chief) ; etc…
I have not quite finished my job and will continue tonight and tomorrow. And then, I’ll wait… hoping to hear or read something in the next few days, hoping for an answer.
I’ll also try to speak on some French radios next week, in particular on Friday when BO is in Paris, just to remind people that …

My opinion is like #206 ClintonRules — I’d rather flood Hillary’s email with messages that it’s important to her supporters that she NOT “negotiate” away her right to be nominated and voted on at the Convention. Because frankly, it’s not just about her, and it’s definitely not about loyalty to a party that wishes we were invisible — it’s about us, the people. And that’s why we’ve loved Hillary, because she fights for the people, whereas Obama makes it all about himself.
Speaking of being all about himself, the sad thing about the cartoon cover of The New Yorker is that it took the media’s attention away from Ryan Lizza’s story INSIDE the magazine, about how Obama’s career has ALWAYS been about himself. Shifting the focus was the precise reason why the Obama campaign complained so loudly about the cartoon on the cover. Sigh. In an age where liberals have loved “Doonesbury” and “SNL”, it’s scandalous that they fell for this ploy. I’m no Bush lover, but I remember when Bush Sr. just laughed off Dana Carvey’s of SNL’s making fun of him. That’s leadership in America. If Obama doesn’t want political cartoons to make fun of him, he should become leader of North Korea or Cuba or Iran instead. At least cartoons aren’t masquerading as “neutral” and “objective” news reporting. We are made up of decent people from all walks of life, all ages, races, religions, etc. Just normal everyday people trying to do something to get our country back on track. The problem is we are playing against a team of professionals who know how to get down and dirty. It’s something we don’t do for the most part in our lives. It’s like pitting Annie against Darth Vader. We really need some help from someone who understands how the Darth Vader type operates.

Thank you. But you know what… it is not neccessary to compliment me. By way of an explanation: I’ve always been a “loner” my whole life, and do not rely upon others to give me a boost or to tell me what my strenghts are. I won’t go into details, but I went up against a totally crooked system - because of a powerful man - on a real estate issue
No matter how many times he and his lawyers purgered themselves in the court room - the judge looked the other way - they were all political supporters of the judge.
Basically the strategy was to make me keep having to appeal his (bad) decisions in hopes that I would run out of money - and fight - and give up.
Now here is the BIG Point.
My frustrated lawyers told me this:
When the judge is sitting there comparing you and your political and financial power to theirs - you are completely expendable. He knows you can’t spend 12,000 to get to the appeals court and keep up with the “primary case” in his court for very long - everytime he makes a decision in their favor - no matter how wrong he is.
And that is what we are up against here.
Want to here the Bad News and then the Good News?
BAD NEWS: I had to settle for far, far less than I lost.
GOOD NEWS: I spent one month putting out flyers with bulleted points on my case and the judge’s decisions - which even lay people could see were wrong.
REALLY GOOD NEWS: That alleged “undefeatable” republican judge lost his re-election bid for the bench… much to everyone’s shock!
Don’t tell me that there are not consequences to failed democracy. I lost, but I won the damn war against ONE ARROGANT BASTARD!
It can be done! I believe in handing out “Flyers” to the regular guys and gals and begging them NOT to VOTE for a “crook”!
It works… it really does… they knew I was sincere and would not be out there doing it if something had not been really WRONG with that judge!

I guess we are going international. I read in NoQuarter that BO’s campaign was “hosting” all these journalists on his tour and that journalists complained that McCain had made it so “difficult” for them and that’s why they didn’t give him as much coverage. The person who wrote this article pointed out that a journalists job is to find and investigate stories, not be led to a story by politicians. As we all know, BO is fabricating an event for publicity. This isn’t real news. By the way, I apologize for not having the link to the article I just mentioned, but I will post it if I find it.
Also, maybe we should start writing newspapers in Europe in English even before BO gets there. Most journalists have to know English and if we send them a brief message and direct them to where they can find the hundreds of anti-BO sites (like http://www.nobamanetwork.com/ and justsaynodeal) they would quickly get the point that there is a lot of opposition against BO that isn’t reported by the U.S. MSM. I have time today, so I can help contact European papers.

As to how many PUMAs there are. A recent poll of the real world outside the internet found 9 million Hillary supporters refusing to vote for Obama in November (up from 7 million in June).
When Justsaynodeal.com began its census of members of PUMA groups, they found over 2 million. Nobamanetwork is also attempting a list of all groups and a headcount.
I don’t know whether these include groups that have little web presence, such as Clinton Supporters Count Too. Groups like blog.pumapac.org keep count of how many letters to SDs, phone call,etc they generate each day or week, so that should give an indication.
Fundraising should give an indication too. See heidilipotpourri and thedenvergroup and blog.pumapac.org. Quite a few others are raising serious amounts too. (A fund drive of several organizations reportedly raised $10 million toward Hillary’s debt in about a week in early July. Taht would be in addition to funds for newspaper ads and website opeating expenses, trips to Denver, donations to friendly Congressmen, etc.)

Night of Terror
On November 15, 1917, the Warden of Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered 40 of his guards on what is now known as the Night of Terror.
The women were innocent and defenseless. By the end of the night, they were also barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs went on a rampage with their warden’s blessing against the 33 women wrongly convicted of “obstructing sidewalk traffic.” They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women. (Why Women Vote )
The details of the Night of Terror were the last straw. Public outrage and opposition had been building as news leaked that there were hunger strikes and forced feedings, but everything boiled to a head after the Night of Terror. Everyone, from ordinary folks to politicians in Washington, began to talk about the women and their plight. Demands issued from many quarters that they be released, which they finally were, on November 27th and 28th of 1917, many after nearly half a year in prison.
In January of 1918, Woodrow Wilson announced his support of the Susan B. Anthony Amendment, and Congress voted on it soon thereafter, failing the 2/3 majority test by two votes. American women campaigned vigorously that election year to unseat anti-suffragist incumbents, and were successful. The amendment passed the following year, 1919, by a landslide, and began to make its way around the country to be ratified.
War of the Roses
By the summer of 1920, 35 states had ratified the 19th Amendment, and 36 were needed for it to become an official part of our founding document. It came down to Tennessee, and a War of Roses during the dog days of summer. Both pro- and anti-suffrage factions from across America made their way to Nashville to duke it out over votes in the Tennessee legislature. Members of the opposing factions and politicians wore yellow roses to show their support for suffrage, and red roses to show their opposition to suffrage.
On August 18th, amidst a sea of red and yellow roses, the roll call for votes went out, and came back 2 votes shy. Another roll call was made, and this time, Rep. Banks Turner crossed the line to the suffrage side. One vote shy. A third, and final roll call was made, and this time, a young man by the name of Harry Burn, wearing a red rose, crossed over to the suffragists side. Pandemonium ensued.
With his “yea,” Burn had delivered universal suffrage to all American women. The outraged opponents to the bill began chasing Representative Burn around the room. In order to escape the angry mob, Burn climbed out one of the third-floor windows of the Capitol. Making his way along a ledge, he was able to save himself by hiding in the Capitol attic.
When he was later questioned as to why he had voted for it, despite wearing a red rose, he explained that what people saw was the red rose on his jacket, but they didn’t see that in the pocket behind it was a telegraph from his mother in East Tennessee. It read:
Dear Son: Hurrah, and vote for suffrage! Don’t keep them in doubt. I noticed some of the speeches against. They were bitter. I have been watching to see how you stood, but have not noticed anything yet. Don’t forget to be a good boy and help Mrs. Catt [Carrie Chapman Catt] put the ‘rat’ in ratification. Signed, Your Mother.

Katrina #164 — hope you’re still here. I am sorry that my swearing offended you. Long time readers and members will know that swearing and crude language is just not my style. It is a cheap and unsubtle way to communicate, and I avoid that way of writing or speaking almost exclusively.
Anyone who spends a few minutes reading our site will know that we are a very large group of very diverse people who are motivated to action because of the shameful and inexcusable behavior of our party this year. Swearing, rudeness to others, and name-calling happens so extremely rarely that in over 54,000 comments, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had to remove comments because of language or content. In over 2,500 pages of comments — only a small handful. And 4 out of 5 of those comments were from trolls who snuck in.
So, I am sorry that you were turned off on your first visit — I truly am — because Maryland Puma is also a dear friend of mine (even though we’ve never met!) and I hate to think that a friend of hers is not a friend of ours.
That being said, I stand by my comment. The woman who started the hate site to which I referred is a creep who propagates lies and slander against my members, my family, my friends, and myself. She lies and encourages lies and hate for no reason other than that she doesn’t like what we stand for.
When she insults our members she is lying about people like Carole, Heather, Annette, and Jackson. People like Kathleen, Mary Jo, Jeremy, and Theresa.
These are good, kind, sincere, and helpful people. People who reach out to others and work every day to make our country and our party a better place. Several of them are very vulnerable, either because of lifestyle, personal experience, age, economic situation, or illness.
People like Christina are ATTACKING the VULNERABLE when they post sites like hers — when they allow comments like the one at the top of our page to appear under their auspices.
They are a menace and a disgrace to every hard working, brave, and active citizen in this country, and they deserve to be called what I called them.
Like I said, I am not a swearing or crude person. Neither is the Puma PAC blog. I hope you will visit us again or spend some more time getting to know us before you decide whether Puma PAC is right for you. I sincerely hope it is.

I think someone posted on here - that it is not up to Dean or Pelosi regarding the roll call and placement on the ballot it is up to at LEAST 300 superdelegates to request it - when the campaign ended (this included those that switched over from her to him) she had 257 SD’s left - if ALL of them said yea to her - we would still need 43 more -
My suggestion is that we contact those that switched from her to him - think it was 28 - leaving us 15 left - I will have to look for it but someone else posted a website that showed those SD’s that endorsed him over her - even though she won their State (such as my Governor of Kentucky and W. Va) or their district - Sen Byrd of W.Va as well - so if we target that group first with a growl and swayed them to committ - who cares what Dean or Pelosi has to say - that is IF THE POSTER who said this knew what she/he was talking about. Anyone know how to find this out for sure - would give a direction for our SD letters -

What you need to know is this: There is a small utility program inside of the Window’s directory (i.e. folder) called “Clipboard” and it is that little program that works on any program and is used everytime someone does a cut, copy, or paste.
That means that all programs, and yes, even when you cut, copy or paste one folder or file from Window’s Explorer. They all use the same Clipboard .EXE file to accomplish that task.
Look at your screen.
Look at any program.
Look up at your BROWSER.
See the main menu on top.
Look for the 2nd item, called, EDIT.
That is basically *all* you need to know.
Edit, Edit, Edit.
On any program.
Edit, Edit, Edit.
Scroll down that EDIT column or pull down window.
See,
Cut
Copy
Paste
Delete
Some are highligted while others are “dimmed” out. But once activated they will become functioning.
REMEMBER THIS IMPORTANT RULE:
Whatever you want to accomplish, whether it is to cut, copy, or paste, YOUR MOUSE POINTER MUST BE INSIDE THE PROGRAM BOX you are working on.—okay!
So let’s say you want to take something from Word or Notepad, or another website, for example; while inside of that software program, you either, SELECT ALL, or you run your mouse over the words or sentencs you want to copy to highlight them. Then, you *cycle* up the software program you want to paste it to, (like here), place your curser inside of that box, and click on the EDIT, PASTE.
Try it….
Cut, will delete from a program and is very rarely used, so just skip it for now, and work on these two:
Copy, will copy text and place it inside of clipboard.
Highlight, will capture the words you want to work with.
Paste, will drop it into the box your curser is on.
So basically, all you have to remember is this,
EDIT, COPY
EDIT, HIGHLIGHT
EDIT, PASTE
Note: once you run your mouse cursor over some words to highlight them, the words cut, copy, paste will loose their dimmed status and will appear and will now function.

take the mouse to the first word you want to copy….left click the mouse and drag over the words you want to high light….. when they are high lighted…then put your mouse over the highlighted words and then click your right mouse button…. a box will appear then says copy……then you go to where you want the copy to go…then left click and a box will appear…select paste.

There are so many posts just got to reading some of them. Most, if not all, of the Nobama posts are just personal attacks. I try not to read too many of them. I used to answer them. I never got anywhere so have stopped trying. Maybe when an article (with accompaning posts) is printed like that we should state what puma is instead of trying to have a dialogue with them and leave the site. Let them just talk to themselves. That way we have put our case out there and we are getting them upset because we refuse to give them a platform to sprew their lies. We are still telling everyone what puma is without alowing Nobamas to tell us their theories on what we are. Just a thought. Grandchildren are here, check back in later.

There seemed to be a hot-botton topic when Woopie used the “n” word. Her point was we are living in two different worlds, meaning I do suppose that it’s okay for a black person to use it but not for a white. This idealogy would seem to suggest that there are two sets of rules, one for black folk and one for white folk.
Now, in a way, I can understand wher Woopie is coming from… And I can also say I understand that within social groups or families we can take a so-called negative and run with it, or even make light of it. I mean, who in America has not be subject to some kind of divisiveness.
What I find it completely explainable as far as personal “experience(s)” go I do not think that derogatory words should be utilized by those in mass media, whether it is on TV, Cable, Satellite or radio, but only because it is the NAACP and other groups that have put a stop to its usage and condemned media for it; sometimes at the expense of firing people or suing media itself.
So Woopie… and Jessi…. you have every right to use it when talking to your family or friends, but you cannot undo what you did. If it is wrong for us, the ordinary citizen to use it becuase you have placed your guilt on us, then you shouldnt be allowed to use it either.
I am Italian-American and my social network has overcome ethnic slurs the same way ever other ethnic group has… We eventually reach a point of laughing at ourselves. But, no no no rants Rev Jeremiah Wright, the white folk are to blame for all of black society’s failings.

If you are still here, let me say that that outburst is certainly not typical of Murphy, but she has personally been attacked by the person she is addressing. She is the warmest, most patient person I’ve seen in a long, long time and that is why I am here. I, like Cosmeta said earlier, am a loner not a joiner, but I feel so outraged by Hillary Clinton’s treatment by her own party, I came back out of retirement from my politically active days to fight back. My experience with this group has been so positive and supportive that I am here for good. I fyou views are so opposed to ours that you can’t stay, I understand, but there is so much good information on this site, it might be worth your while to stay awhile. Besides we love MarylandPuma and would hate to hurt her.

I have a few thoughts for future letters to the delegates.
When the database is finished, (I hope it is really soon, we are still working on it. Maybe we could concentrate on a few key states like Michigan and Florida first???)
I think we should address not only the issue of putting Hillary in nomination but also the travesty of the election for not only Fla and Michigan but the meaning of individual votes for our citizens and how having the election won by delegates will cause future democrats to think their votes are not important and will break down the democratic party in the future.
Maybe invite them to see the PUMA sites with links so they can see the PUMAs are not Republicans in sheep’s clothing. Maybe also mention the struggle of women and men in this country and how PUMA is an important part of this struggle. That even after Nov 5th, this group will continue to fight to give back elections to the voters.
I think giving them real information about us will work on their subconscious, letting them have time to think about the out come of this election and democracy based on their decision instead of voters.
I think just sending a ton of emails to let them know we are huge isn’t the only thing we should strive for, but that the outcome of the delegate vote will not only influence this election but future voting.
Please don’t ask me to write a draft of this, I suck at composing a decent letter and you and many PUMA are much better in this skill than I am.

How do I know? I have received several outreaching emails in the last 24 hours from some power players who are supportive of us.
I know you trust me when I say that I cannot be public about this stuff. But I CAN say that our efforts are MAKING A DIFFERENCE. The Voice of the Voters is being heard.
Calling, emailing, and writing letters really DOES work. When a Super Delegate receives FIVE HUNDRED emails in ONE DAY from FIVE HUNDRED individual voters ALL ACROSS the COUNTRY, they KNOW that something is UP.
Let’s not fret. Let’s take a deep breath and pat ourselves on the back. Let’s reach out to neighbors and friends and tell them how downright FUN it is to be an active American citizen. It’s free, simple, and invigorating. Especially when we have this forum to come back and share, inform, and BRAG to each other.
Being all in this together is a lot more fun than being outside alone.

In defense of Murphy, I was quite shocked to see that coming from her, although it’s mild considering the vicious stuff we get from trolls and O supporters. She never talks like that - and is vigilant on the board about anything that could be construed as the very things we fight.

Sunday April 28th 2008 the Rev. Jeremiah Wright came to Detroit Michigan to address the Michigan NAACP. He gave a sermon with a very focused message, vote Barack Obama and I am not a racist. Well after listening to his sermon and taking time to absorb his oration, I am astounded at just how insulated Rev. Wright must be, ethnically, socially and culturally or is that just what he aspires for his followers?
Apparently the esteemed Rev. Wright has missed a large part of the world I live in. The world I live in is full of color and individual variances, we have blue, green, pink, red and any other color of hair we have people with a lot of cranial accessories (facial jewelry), we have heterosexuals working alongside homosexuals that do not experience discrimination and vice versa, we have white and black and brown and any color you can image that attend church together, work together, we live along side each other, we travel together, our children go to school together, we are involved in our community together, we dine together, we walk through the same doors, we drink from the same fountains. America has been changing, apparently Rev. Wright has not rather it would seem he has hidden from progress.
Rev. Wright was correct about one thing, “different is not defective”. Guess what Rev. Wright. Most of America already knows that and lives it everyday. Although it appears the esteemed Rev. Wright has segregated himself and his community to the point that this concept is new to him. I am going to go Rev. Wright one better, different is not defective different is delightful. Rev. Wright different is beautiful, colorful, and interesting and in this day and age it is not discouraged it is encouraged.
Despite his constant subliminal Vote for Barack Obama “Change is coming” messages, it was apparent rather than seeking unity and progress he was using the art of phraseology and the beautiful spirit filled exuberance of the black church to put emphasis on his underlying message of separatism.
My roots are not in Africa, my ancestors were, my neighbors roots are not in Europe, their ancestors where, my roots are in America. I am a person of color, but I am a American I am not an African and make no mistake my loyalties lie with America Rev. Wright. I do not wish to separate myself nor my family from America I do not wish to see a black America and white America and yellow America and brown America.
Rev. Wright I grew up on welfare in “the projects”. I am now a college graduate a wife and mother of 2 children. I will not teach my children to look for injustices because if they cant make it in this world and rise above the unfairness we all experience in life it is their own deficiencies not societies. If you teach children to look for injustices they will always find them and they will always see others of another color as out to hold them down, with an attitude like that they will never find successes.
I do not now nor have I ever nor will I ever tolerate Ebonics in my household, while we do not speak the English of England or Europe we do speak, in this house, the English of America, because Rev. Wright we are American’s in this house. I am personally sick and tired of hearing all about the mother land Africa, yes our history is beautiful and colorful and sad and frightening and bright and vibrant but my mother land is America my ancestors mother land was Africa. I will tell you what apparently other blacks don’t want to tell you or are afraid to tell you, if you feel so strongly that big bad whitey is out to get you and the mother land Africa needs so much help then you should leave you mansion in Illinois and go to Africa and do your nasty separatist work there.
Just a thought… bill Nelson is working on that new bill for election reform. Would it be such a bad idea to offer to help him spread the word after the Dem convention is over? We would need to read up on it and see if there are things we don’t agree with, but we do all agree the system has to be changed. We are organized, he has the ability to sponsor bills. Seems like a match to me!

Also… I don’t know if anyone has been watching FOX this afternoon… but they keep airing a story about these women (in Afghanistan) that were abducted by the Taliban and put into a truck and taken to a remote area where they pulled them out into the field and then executed them. A reporter who was with them, pleaded with them not to execute them. They refused. The reporter asked if he could film, they refused… but it was too late… the reporter already had his camera rolling unbeknownst to the Taliban. Fox showed the images.
I mention this story because on the same day… I see an article in MSM about Obama’s visit to Afghnaistan. I don’t see any mention of these events in his world experiences. I did see a report on FOX of him shooting a few hoops with the troops.

Some email servers will put things in a holding bin while they are being scanned for virus. Plus, sometimes mail gets delayed because someone email box is full… and with that some email servers will try again.

But that’s a classic ratfuckery tactic: The Repubs latch on to a small but disgruntled group and blow it up out of all proportion to its numbers to sew discord. Their media arm, FOX News, is of course willing to help.
I mean, if there were literally millions of PUMAs as the group claims, wouldn’t they be able to muster more than NINE people at a protest in San Francisco? (Hell, I bet I could get more than 9 people to show up to protest an alleged plot by cabal of gerbils from Pluto to take over the DNC.) Wouldn’t Obama be dogged at every campaign stop by thousands of roaring PUMAs?
But that’s not happening. Some money is coming in and there’s some organization behind the scenes. The GOP is good at accomplishing that. The “real” PUMAs are their unwitting dupes.

I don’t think we should be timid (maybe not the right word) about contacting Euro papers. Europe seems much smaller and approachable when you are there. As you might imagine they are not bombarded by news from the U.S., so they couldn’t possibly know what is going on with BO’s candidacy. We can start sending them information.

They didn’t believe you would keep your word and not support Bo, they didn’t believe you would stand your ground, they thought it would just take a little time to mend fences, yet they did nothing to win the 18 million voters back, not even an apology for how Hillary and her supporters were treated.
They know now they’re not getting the numbers they need and I’m laughing my a$$ off. But mostly I’m very proud of every person who is fighting in one way or another to be treated with respect and dignity by those who claim to want what is best for America.

Thanks to Murphy for acting so fast on the action center. I just made sure we had everything so Murphy could get the center going again. I feel the action center is critical to our mission and making sure we keep focused on the goals of PUMA PAC. That being in part getting Hillary nominated.
Time is very short we have about 5 weeks till the convention and every person and every minute is critical. Writing to super delegates and the media is a critical part of the mission as well getting more people to join PUMA PAC through the use of the flyers and other action items. Personally I try to avoid things that take away from the above goals as my time is so limited. In either case I am glad I could help Murphy and all the PUMA’s out in some way.

MarylandPUMA, in taking a step back and acting as if today was my first time on; I can see where Katrina may have been offended. You hear all these wonderful things about PUMAS but we have been here through the thick and thin. We know who is who and why they say what they do but someone new does not.
I apologize that I did not write earlier and say something to her. As you know MarylandPUMA, we all have the same vision and heart. We all recognize something very wrong happened in the primaries and it needs to be corrected.
We are united as PUMAS to see Democracy returned to our great nation and the wrongs righted. Together we have accomplished much and will continue to do so.
Along the way, we will have disagreements with family and friends but as you and I know MarylandPUMA, our friends will always be our friends and our family will always be our family.
Today, my son who is a strong union Democrat starting to talk voting Democrat no matter what…I looked at him, smiled and said, “Here let me carry that out for you.” No good would of come out of trying to debate one when God has not opened their ears and eyes yet.
At the end of the day, we hugged and said “I love you” and I sent up my prayers for him and others that believe the same to hear and see the truth. I know God answers prayers. Look at all of us united. Did we not ask, “Where are others that believe like me and together we can make a difference?”

In case you missed it…
I decided to open an account with PUMA to see if what everyone was saying about them was true. I signed in as a Hillary supporter and made some probing remarks. The PUMA People were supportive of not using any racial comments and seemed fair about being unfairly critical of Obama. There were viewpoints I disagreed with, but nothing on the deep end. I did not stay too long before going to bed.
When I woke up the next day, they had tracked down my dashboard and left a message on one of my blogs to say that I had been “PUMA Pounced” - appearantly, they used my email address to track down my info here and then trash me on their page. They thought I was a paid Obama operative, because my name had 233 at the end (which is a classroom number I once taught in) They made the normal snarky comments one would make about a troll and moved on. Given that I did present myself falsely, I understood their concerns and reactions - I also think how we react when we have McCain’s people in here.
First, I give them credit for being able to track down my information so quickly - it shows that they are well-organized and vigilant about Hillary Clinton’s support. Second, most bloggers seemed more determined to support Hillary than eventually vote for McCain over Obama - for me, that would be the ultimate betrayal. Third, I see a lot of ourselves in them, with the notable exception that the sting of Hillary’s defeat still has them determined what they perceive (right or wrong) to fight for a just cause. Finally, like a good spy movie, they have people that come over here too:)
To any PUMA person reading this here, if you read my messages, you will see there was no divisiveness or malice on my part that was intended. To me, that game does not belong in the Obama campaign, and is reflective of the Republican tactics. What I did want to know is if your intentions and actions represent what is still best about the Democratic or what is worst about the Republicans. Thus far, I concluded that in spite of your initial reaction to my perceived intent, your heart is in the right place.

But maybe my more detailed explanation can help anyone who is still confused about how to make text bold and italics in here.
As for the other formatting styles, such as strikethrough, bulleted lists and underline… I’ve tried the usual codes for some of them (using the carrots) and they haven’t worked in here. I know some other people have said it hasn’t worked for them either. However I’ve seen some people use bullets, strikethrough, etc succesfully in here…
Maybe, if any of them are around now, they can explain how they do it!

Don’t know if anyone else addressed this higher up in the thread, but in re: Your suggestion of a 750 character limit per posting.
My worry is that it would limit the posting of articles that don’t have links, i.e. some newspaper articles that people has retyped to insert here, letters people have sent and longer lists of information, i.e. addresses, tel #’s, fax # etc.
My suggestion:
Perhaps longer postings should have a summary at the top describing what the posting covers and have the summary clearly marked off from the rest of the content by a line, dotted, solid, whatever….
That way people would know what’s contained in the posting and decide if they want to read the whole thing right then and there, or come back to it later if they’re interested.
Just my 1 cent worth…
I vote that we work on Fla and Michigan first, since we will probably get more support there.

I’ve been reading your posts. Goalucard is right, we need to pick our battles. If anyone listened to the radio show last night about Rezko and *61, it contained a wealth of information about the corruption in Chicago politics. I was taking notes because I’m planning to write to the media outlets.
The speakers referenced the Boston Globe’s expose of the Rezko and *61 connection. Basically, *61 was directing public funds to developers such as Rezko and others to help renovate low income housing. However, what was happening, once they got their hands on this money, it was used for other purposes including funneling donations back in *61’s campaign and other politicians.
In additon, funds from the Illinois Pension Fund has been directed to *61’s backers to manage. In one case, Ariel Capital, the contract was revoked because they were not investing the funds wisely. Why is Ariel Capital important? Because the man that heads Ariel is one of *61’s bundlers.
One more thing, Michele’s brother is also a bundler.
I’m off to work on my assignments for Trish and others and will be back.
The key to defeating *61 is to follow his money.

Also, most, if not all, pharmaceutical companies will help cover your prescriptions if you qualify. I think it is based on either your income or ability to pay, etc. Just look on your bottle and see who makes it and give them a call. Can find the info about each company on the internet.

Also, regarding the Prowl that we do from the Action Center, now that we have all these trolls, I’m wondering if Murphy needs to mass e-mail us the Daily Prowl. Or do we just put up with them? We all know the trolls really didn’t leave, they are lurking in the background in their “black holes.”
I don’t post much but I just want to say that I stand by murphy and all the puma members. Keep up the good work and don’t let insignificant distractions slow you guys down.

The MSM is really trying to play up Maliki’s statement about the troop withdrawal and how it favors *61’s policy. It is even on his website.
We cannot lose sight of the fact that there are many good papers from the Boston Globe and the Chicago papers that are doing investigative work about *61. He is up to his ears in kickbacks, funneling public money, and favors for his friends.
I believe that’s why many financial firms are backing him. President Nixon and *61 are a lot alike. Nixon won by a landside but he had to leave office because of the lies and dirty tricks. We cannot get caught up in the media’s hype.

#633 Goalucard4Hil I understand there are investigators trying to unravel the mystery of BO’s birth certificate and prove it to be a fraud. They are in Kenya, everywhere. And I called the US Atty’s office a couple of weeks ago and asked when Obama was going to be indicted. Of course, they wouldn’t say anything but that could be an October surprise.

You don’t know her and truly can’t judge her. Really. She is the sweetest person I know and has a heart of gold. She’s protective of me, just like you all are, and I think the protectiveness collided somewhere in the middle.
Remember that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover and things are not always as they seem or appear. Believe it or not some people I despised at first became very good friends of mine in the long run. She really is my bestest friend in the world and I hope we can get past this. One never knows what tomorrow will bring, if it comes at all. Nothing in life is a given.

Wow, I totally missed this because I left early this morning for the Cincinnati Meetup. I just got back this afternoon, after four hours of driving and a two hour visit. In a sign that senior Democratic officials remain deeply concerned that post-primary bitterness could imperil Barack Obama’s chances, two top Democratic officials have emailed a sharply-worded letter to major donors and other leading Dems confessing “fatigue and irritation” at those withholding full support from Obama and demanding that they get behind him “without conditions or demands.”
“I supported Hillary Clinton and am proud and pleased that I did,” reads the email, which was written by Donald Fowler, a former DNC chair and DNC member-at-large who was one of Hillary’s most prominent supporters. Alice Germond, the Secretary of the DNC, is also a signatory.
“But she lost,” continues the email, which was sent our way by a source. Barack Obama won. It’s over.”
“It is time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Clinton and all other contenders for the nomination, to stand with him to secure his election and the election of Democrats at all levels of competition,” the email continues.
The email also laces sharply into Hillary supporters who remain embittered by the primary and are demanding things in exchange for their support.
“I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support,” it reads. “It is time to act in a mature and resourceful fashion. It’s time to put the primaries behind us. It’s time to support Barack Obama without conditions or demands.”

indypuma - I will post this here and on the upward thread: I will contact my daughter tomorrow, though she is due to have a bebe any day now (hence my trip this week). Delphine has provided us much to chew on with the French connections. I am attacking that myself tomorrow, plus the sites provided in the other posting which connects us to Britain and Germany too.
What she has told me anecdotally for months now mirrors what Delphine and Storyteller have shared: the Europeans are completely enamored with the Golden Boy because he is the opposite of Bush, and they can’t stand Bush. This merits us providing another point of view. Most definitely.

I find it funny that she claims to be able to relate to women with kids and a career, given that she has a nanny…sheesh. I saw an article over on MYDD (no link, apologies) on her which linked to an interview where she was quoted as saying that she *had* to buy fresh fruit every day because her kids wouldn’t eat it unless it was fresh ever morning. Makes me wonder if she did grow up poor, if that’s an excuse she accepts - where is the evidence of the values one gains from having to do with less? It also doesn’t reflect well on her that she’s letting her kids grow up so spoiled. (And one wonders what becomes of all the uneaten fruit.)
bmw60 reminded me of something which bear srepeating:
Why the media has been so nice to Obama: For the past 16 years or so, it’s been their job to get Republicans elected. So they trump up things to knock out Dem candidates which they perceive to be a threat: Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Dean, Edwards, Hillary…contrariwise, if they like a Dem, that’s a big red flag: they want the weakest Dems on the ticket.
As far as Republicans go , they defend the strong ones as best they can, knock out the weak ones so as to leave the strongest.
Of course, they may intead see Obama as weak and able to pushed around as President; which is their real view we’ll find out in the post-convention pre-election period (should he be nominated).
