I have the best security system money can buy PLUS SOME and I am very careful. Luckily I live in texas and we can basically shoot first and ask questions second…
Finally, in my family business we have to employ security weekly and one of our top advisors always reminds me that it is NOT the threats you have to worry about but the act and most threats are empty.

I watched the video that someone linked on here early this morning–it was the RBC meeting where they had the vote on Michigan and Florida. It all came back to me, that feeling of disgust and dismay at the way the RBC cheated millions of voters and pampered their little baby BO. I remember sitting on the couch at home screaming at my television, in utter shock that this crime was being committed on live television and no one could do anything about it.
I remember wanting to be there so I could shake Harold Ickes’ hand, and to exclaim my disgust at them.
We’ve got to rock Denver folks! We cannot let the DNC get away with this travesty of passing over the best candidate for President of the US that we may ever see in our lifetimes. For what? Some rookie senator–well, I’ll stop there.
I think it’s a sad day that the nation spoke, by voting, and the DNC basically said “We hear you, but we don’t care. She’s not the one we want, so you’ll have to take him instead.”
I’m all fired up again, just like it’s the first of June all over again….thank God for PUMA.

Jones had served in the Illinois Legislature for three decades. He represented a district on the Chicago South Side not far from Obama’s. He became Obama’s kingmaker. Several months before Obama announced his U.S. Senate bid, Jones called his old friend Cliff Kelley, a former Chicago alderman who now hosts the city’s most popular black call-in radio program. I called Kelley last week and he recollected the private conversation as follows:
“He said, ‘Cliff, I’m gonna make me a U.S. Senator.’”
“Oh, you are? Who might that be?”
“Barack Obama.”
Jones appointed Obama sponsor of virtually every high-profile piece of legislation, angering many rank-and-file state legislators who had more seniority than Obama and had spent years championing the bills.
“I took all the beatings and insults and endured all the racist comments over the years from nasty Republican committee chairmen,” State Senator Rickey Hendon, the original sponsor of landmark racial profiling and videotaped confession legislation yanked away by Jones and given to Obama, complained to me at the time. “Barack didn’t have to endure any of it, yet, in the end, he got all the credit.
“I don’t consider it bill jacking,” Hendon told me. “But no one wants to carry the ball 99 yards all the way to the one-yard line, and then give it to the halfback who gets all the credit and the stats in the record book.”
So how has Obama repaid Jones? Last June, to prove his commitment to government transparency, Obama released a comprehensive list of his earmark requests for fiscal year 2008. It comprised more than $300 million in pet projects for Illinois, including tens of millions for Jones’s Senate district.
Shortly after Jones became Senate president, I remember asking his view on pork-barrel spending. I’ll never forget what he said:”Some call it pork; I call it steak.”

Obama has less experience than he claims
1.Little community organizer experience Obama states he was a community organizer– He helped on an asbestos removal project at Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side. Many people had worked on long before he arrived and after he left. People involved say he actually played a minor role. A local newspaper and reporter had worked on the problem before he showed up – no mention of them were made in his book. 3 years later most of asbestos still remains. Its completion was never achieved.
2.Little attorney experience After law school he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. Over the nine years that Obama had his law license, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers. a review of his cases showed he was limited to introducing himself and his client and then other lawyers would handle the case for him. A search of all Cook County Circuit Court cases appearances showed 0 (none) However he did have a total of 10 cases in his legal career 5 in Federal and 5 in Circuit Court of Appeals
3.Little Senate experience He had even less visibility in the Senate Where he missed more than one in five votes Only one of the measures he sponsored was ever enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”
4.Not a unifier Contrary to what Obama says and has been absent on every bipartisan action while a Senator.
Obama resume is extremely thin and should have never even been elected Senator let alone President. As we all know the only reason he has reached this level at all is because of all the favorable press he has received. It is Puma’s job to expose this man for what he is and keep him from the Whitehouse at all costs.

Congratulations on your June numbers. It’s hard to believe you received so much in donations when your candidate is losing support daily. But of course, he still has allies in unfriendly countries. They must be making up for the drop in American donations.
I decided long ago that donating to Obama was a poor use of my money. Aside from the fact that I don’t like him and don’t trust him, I see him as financially irresponsible. He spent obscene amounts of money during the primaries just to hold huge rallies, where he mesmerized thousands with empty talk of hope and change. If only Obama put that money toward the causes he touts instead, he could have made a difference in the lives of those who hope for change.
Funny thing is, Obama wasn’t even speaking his own words during those rallies. We all know what a bumbling fool he is when speaking for himself. He requires a teleprompter and the scripted words of his speech writers to say anything more intelligible than “um” and “ah.”
Beyond that, Obama wastes money like it has no value. Did you ever notice how Hillary always got more votes than Obama per dollar spent? That’s right. Even when he outspent her by two-, three-, or four-to-one, she got more votes than he did per dollar spent. Hillary knows how to do more with less. Obama knows merely how to waste taxpayer money. That’s not someone I want in the White House.

I have finished both prowls for today.
An article on Time.com, today, talks of Obama’s enormous responsibility to raise cash for his campaign, for the DNP, the DNC, and to pay down Hillary’s debts.
All this when the latest polls show 85% of all Americans are unhappy with the economy, and ethnically 96% of blacks and 88% of Hispanics are upset with the economy.
Seems like a bad time to be asking for money, especially given the fact that donors are experiencing fatigue in donating.
I really don’t believe that Obama is sincere about paying down Hillary’s debts when he needs cash for so many other things.
And until I feel secure that Hillary’s name WILL be place in nomination, I will not donate one single penny to the DNP and DNC. It should go without saying that I would never give Obama anything but a hard time.
If only the major, big-money donors, especially Hillary’s, would refrain from donating, it might secure
a little more leverage in getting Hillary name in nomination.
The message today from the Denver group seems very important to me, but how many Americans even know or remember this about Roosevelt?
I am hopeful that Obama’s audition on the world scene is a flop.
We simply cannot afford Obama’s economic programs.
If things look bleak now, it will be outright total DESTITUTION with Obam in the White House.

I am back from Crawford. Wow what an experience. I have a bad headache. I got some pictures and also some video from our digital camera if we can figure out how to upload it. Anyway there was only one other Puma there and she was part of Will Bowers group. She was very aggressive so I didn’t get to do much talking outside of discussions with Obamabots. I did ask him about Obama’s healthcare plan and how it wasn’t as good as Hillary’s because it didn’t cover me. My husband almost got arrested because he go right up in Dean’s face and screamed at him. It will be on the news and also several local papers. I will get back with more details and hopefully pictures later. I need to get rid of this headache.

Excellent, witty and well-written letter. If those dimwits would take the time to read your letters, they may actually come around a little and the hype would die down for them.
Well, we haven’t heard of any more threats, so that is good. I’ve been called some nasty names and had nasty things said about me, both online and in public, but I just laugh. Some of these BO supporters are just downright brutal about defending him–yet, when I asked one guy “why are you voting for (him)?” he couldn’t give me a good answer. I always ask people that question, or “can you name anything legit that he’s accomplished in his career?” and I always get the same stupid stare and no answers.
Because there is no good answer, and they know it. It’s all a show, it’s all hype, it’s all an agenda.

I am not sure how much entrenched interests are moved by reason, however sound, to change their positions. But I do know they jump when their power base is threatened.
Underlying much of the concerted opposition to BO’s nomination is their thinking that, if the MSM had done its job of in-depth reporting on the candidates then, HRC would already have clinched the nomination. And, given the rise in her popularity – read, votes – after revelations hit the airwaves in late January of BO’s close relationship with Reverend Wright and the corresponding fall in BO’s support, they are right. So, to fill this void of information on the man, these protest groups are trying on their own to ‘get the word out.’ Here is what I have decided to do to recruit helpers in this Herculean task.
Where DNC officials, including standing committee members, are also elected officials, I am contacting opposition candidates asking for help, accompanied by two kinds of information: 1) information about BO which I have found tends to shock the conscience of most voters (see my posting last night about Louis Farrakhan and death threats, #99); 2) information about the DNC member that their opposition can use against her or him.
For example, in California, Cindy Sheehan is now getting signatures to get on the ballot as an Independent to run against Nancy Pelosi. (Even Michael Moore is supporting her run!)

So, for example, I am sending Ms. Sheehan a reminder that back in March, before the polls conclusively pointed to BO’s slide, NP tried to coerce the SD’s to declare for BO, subverting the democratic process.

That closing of the gap could become an eye-opener for the delegates at the Convention floor, and our Hillary just may end up being the Party’s nominee.

The yahoo news headline said BO had raised $52 million in June. I believe NoQuarter or another source said they had only raised about $30 million. Are the BO people fudging the numbers? Why did the BO campaign wait so long (it’s already mid-July) to release their numbers?
I’ve been keeping up with Howard Dean’s visit to Texas today. He began his “tour” in Crawford. I guess they wanted to symbolically begin their rallies (or whatever these things are) in Bush country. I’m no fan of “W,” but I don’t know if Texans are fond of out-of-staters coming in and stomping on their people. I could be wrong. Maybe Dean was welcomed with open arms. Then he is going off to Austin and then getting out of TX ASAP. That’s a smart move because most people outside of Austin definitely wouldn’t have welcomed a BO caravan.
Murphy, sorry about BO people’s death threats. Some people over there just aren’t mentally stable. I mean, I don’t think their leader is all there upstairs (seriously, this man is an arrogant narcissist with apparently no conscience), so what can we expect. Sorry though.

The FEC requires they submit their funding numbers by the 20th of the month, that is why the numbers will not ‘officially’ be out for either BO or Senator Clinton until July 20 for the June 2008 reporting period. Sometime after July 20 we should be able to check out his official FEC submissions,depednignon how lon it takes for the FEC to get that information into their system. And we’ll get some idea of Senator Clinton’s numbers for June.

Hello fellow pumas, I was reading an earlier post about the star studded affair that is to take place at the democratic convention. Does anyone really care what Scarlett Johannsen thinks? I don’t! Does anyone really believe that Obama listens to music put out by Kanye West? I don’t! Shouldn’t they be entertaining potential supporters and voters with such songs as America the beatiful? Hip hop music degrades women, minorities and glorifies drugs, crime, etc….Why is the dnc putting forth so much effort to bring young people into the voter fold, could it be that is not so easy to fool seasoned voters? Can this really be viewed as the new democratic party, or rather a flash in the pan fad much like miniskirts and hulahoops. The dnc needs to get their heads out of the clouds and come to the stark realization that Obama is just a fad,he will fade out over time just like rap and hip-hop, no matter how much they try to indoctrinate us with this CRAP! I can not in good conscience support the dnc in it’s lopsided effort to propel this inexperienced candidate to the highest position our country has to offer, I know I am not alone. This upcoming convention reminds me of the theatre of the absurd. The most effective way to respond to absurdity is with absurdity!

But crooked goverment officials are trying to keep it off the ballot and we have taken it to the Supreme Court as they keep disqualifying valid signatures. No different than what is happening with the election. Everything is bought and paid for by corrupt politicans and greedy developers.

For me, the choice is easy. I value my friends far more than I care about this election or any of the candidates.
I have friends who don’t like Hillary for reasons I can’t understand. I have friends who will vote for any Democrat (even a bad one) because they’re so unhappy about the last eight years under Bush.
If my friends can have a respectful conversation with me in which we’re both open to listening and not criticizing each other for our choices, I’m willing to talk with them about politics. If not, we simply respect each other’s right to choose, and we talk about other things.
Most of my friends have been my friends since far before we ever heard of Obama. Hopefully, all will remain my friends no matter who is elected President.
As much as I support Hillary and dislike Obama, I’m not willing to lose friends over either one. Obama’s not worth it, period. And Hillary can’t replace my friends.
Treasure your friendships, Henerietta. Presidents come and go. Friends, if they’re true, will last a lifetime.

Also, did anyone see FOX news this morning? It was around 7:30-ish Pacific time… they had a spokeswoman from the McCain camp talking about Obama’s trip to Iraq. She made some excellent points. The newscaster was emphasizing the point that Obama is taking along all these news reporters and did McCain camp feel that Obama is getting more press at the expense of McCain’s coverage. I love what she said. I’m paraphrasing, cause I can’t remember exact words, but she stated something along the lines of pointing out that while it’s true McCain hasn’t received that kind of coverage, John McCain is more concerned with helping to affect policy that will improve this country and his concern is for this country and the people that will vote for him. She went on to state, as far as Obama’s media blitz that is going along for the ride of this candidate that is visiting these countries for the first time without any prior experience, let’s call this what it really is — an attempt to campaign and get media coverage abroad.

I discovered it recently. It makes it very easy to send letters to super delegates in large groups at one time. It puts their names in automatically in the letter so they are individually addressed too. They do ask for a donation but it is optional. This site might be helpful for us to use as a group.
Wanted to make sure that Murphy and our other fearless leaders are aware of it as a possible tool.
In the meantime, I used the site to send emails to all the delegates in my home state (NY).

People support candidates for a variety of reasons, often very narrow ones. That’s not a criticism. That’s just what is. When I picked Hillary over Obama and Edwards, I did so based on a few of their answers in a couple of debates. I didn’t study the issues or the candidates thoroughly. Who amongst us has the kind of time and patience necessary to thoroughly research the candidates, their positions, or their records?
One friend I spoke with recently was steadfastly in Obama’s corner because he saw McCain as more of Bush’s failed policies. And I simply don’t have enough facts “at the ready” in my brain to counter that. I can only provide my own perspective on why I dislike and distrust Obama.
As for people disliking Hillary for sticking with Bill after he fooled around, I can only say that people are entitled to their opinions. But none of us have a right to judge Hillary for her decision. Every relationship has its share of disappointments. It’s up to each of us to decide whether we’re better off with the relationship or without it. I admire Hillary and Bill for deciding that the relationship was more important than the hurt and disappointment. They’ve become stronger as a result.
gee, if I didn’t know better, I’d say that woman looks rather nervous and upset… I wonder if she’s beginning to feel like a few people don’t think she’s doing such a great job…. hmmm
I noticed Mika on MSNNC this morning is getting a little less strident in her Obama support. I guess all those nasty, hateful emails from Obama supporters she received when she made a reference to BO’s flip-flops might have had an effect. Slowly, they’re seeing a real picture of the “Obama Movement” that got Chris Matthews all hot and bothered…..

Obama supporters overused that site back in February, as a result the IP addresses off of the servers have been blocked by just about every SD. What email has made it through the block is typically marked as spam by the spambots and blockers that congress and the DNC use. Unless you’re using the fax option on the site, everyone is better off sending the emails individually in blocks of less than 15 or twenty emails at a time. That’s also why we developed the webform on our site, to try to get around the spam bots and push the email through. It won’t last forever, but then again the convention is in a month. I just left Pumapac’s site and it doesn’t look like anyone has posted this. I agree with you….Nanci has made a lot of enemies in Congress among Democrats, beginning with that little petty power struggle with which she initiated her rule as “Speaker of the House.” In those “crucial” first days of her speakership she wasted precious time instigating a battle to screw over a colleague so she could install her guy in a key position (can’t remember the names or the explicit details, but do remember it created quite a firestorm). And yes, fencing is great fun and great exercise.
Too bad I can’t challenge Obama to a duel for the Presidency. If he wins, I won’t oppose him anymore … though neither will I stop my fellow Pumas from doing so. If he loses, he will step aside and give the nomination to Hillary.
There’s just two problems with that idea. One, he’s too chicken-shit to accept a duel. He’d send in one of his thugs instead. And regardless of what he might promise beforehand, he’d flip-flop afterwards.

As much as it would be great to have a massive email like this, when I filled everything out and started to check off the box, then saw there was a box for comments, I realized I had no idea what the email would say with my name on it. Just watched Wolfe Blitzer and Jack. Apparently there is a “media blitz” with Obama going overseas. McCain has made the trip 4 times with little coverage. Said Obama is like a rock star over there. Trying to think of way to get our word out to the media and troops overseas. Any ideas? The media is doing the same thing now to McCain they did to Hillary.
Also, noticed Al Gore on TV earlier speaking about his environmental efforts. Seems like they’re appearing on TV, but instead of focusing on Obama, they’re using the opportunity to bring attention to their commendable efforts to ACTUALLY do good works!

It is okay. The press lead-up to the story made President Clinton’s ‘announcement’ appear far more significant than it was. Actually, he was speaking about his Global Initiative work and was asked about campaigning for Senator Obama. His response merely echoed similar sentiments he had expressed previously, only over the phone.

Even if Bill does eventually campaign for Obama, keep two things in mind.
One, when Bill and Hillary throw their support behind him, it’s not him they’re campaigning for. They’re putting on a show of unity because that’s what it takes for Hillary to be successful with her healthcare programs and other things she wants to accomplish for us. She can’t make progress in those areas without the support of other lawmakers, so she must play the unity game.
Two, if Hillary emerges from the convention as our nominee, she will need the support of Obama’s followers. So she and Bill are doing what they need to do now to start winning them over.
Hillary and Bill have us and our allies to do what they can’t now. Trust Hillary and Bill. They’re making the best of a bad situation. They also know a lot more than we do.

In fact, Barack Obama specifically voted four times in the Illinois Legislature to allow criminal charges against a homeowner who used a firearm in self-defense of their person and home � specifically what the Supreme Court says is a constitutional right. Obama may say he supports it, but his record says exactly the opposite.

In 2004, the Illinois Senate considered S.B. 2165 (IL 2004), sponsored by Senator Ed Petka (R-Plainfield). The bill came about because of an arrest in Wilmette, IL in late December of 2003. A 54-year-old businessman shot and wounded a man who had broken into his home for the second time in 24 hours. Cook County prosecutors found the shooting justified, but the businessman, Mr. DeMar, faced a fine and possible destruction of two guns under a 1989 village ordinance prohibiting handgun possession.
S.B. 2165 would allow residents to use self-defense as a basis for seeking dismissal of criminal charges stemming from local gun ordinances if they used the banned weapon in an act of self-defense in their home, business or property.
Obama voted no on third reading March 25, 2004, and voted no on concurrence to a House amendment on May 25, 2004. In fact, Obama voted no four times: in the Judiciary Committee, on Third Reading, in the Judiciary Committee�s vote on concurrence with the House, and on the final concurrence.
Luckily for the people of Illinois, the legislation passed despite Obama�s opposition. Had he had his way, people in Illinois could still be prosecuted for defending themselves against crimes.
But that�s not the only time Obama has voted against the people�s right to keep and bear arms.
In 1999, Obama voted in favor of S.B. 177 (IL 1999). The legislation required guns to be secured by trigger locks, placed in a lock box, or placed in a location that a reasonable person would believe to be secure from a minor. Likewise, in 2003, Obama voted for H.B. 2579 (IL 2003) for a law that restricted the rights of Illinois�s citizens so that they could only buy one gun a month. The law created the offense of �unlawful acquisition of handguns.�
In 2001, Obama voted against S.B. 604 (IL 2001), which would have allowed individuals who have valid orders of protection against other individuals to carry concealed weapons for their protection. The bill would have created an affirmative defense against a charge of violating Illinois�s concealed carry law if the person had a lawfully issued protection order against someone seeking to do harm to the person.
In 2002, Obama voted against S.B. 397 (IL 2002), which amended the Firearms Owners Indentification Card Act. The legislation was specifically crafted for sporting events and allowed a non-resident participating in a sanctioned competitive shooting event in Illinois to purchase a shotgun or shotgun ammunition in Illinois, but only at the site where the event is being held, for the purpose of participating in the event.

I do sincerely wonder about CNN and other networks. I know GE owns NBC but CNN ? it all lacks transparency and its endangering our liberties beacuse they are just selling the wrong political process. many viewers are unaware of their shenadigans and can be influenced (evidently) by the brain washing and the endless repeat of erroneous informations.. The press was supposed to be the 4 th branch of power ,that ‘s why thay are given so much access to private and public info . They are not advertising agencies, PA or marketing firms. they have to follow certain rules of communication and balance in information .( i will file a complaint with the FCC . Regardless of how you think or thought of him–and I am speaking for myself–it would not hurt to give Sean Hannity and some of the guys over at FOX some gratitude. Did you know that Hannity was challenged by Barack? Barack was blaming him and others like him that all they could do was to focus on HIS NEGATIVES and that was divisive and had to stop. Barack said “Guys like Sean Hannity are constantly harping on my negatives and those perceived as negatives when in fact, they would NOT HAVE THE GUTS TO SAY IT TO MY FACE.” Quoting Hannity from the afternoon. Hannity has called his bluff and announced that he would say it to his face and has invited him to his show. We need to stay on top of this MEDIA CIRCUS and this trip.

The references to Martin Luther King’s words and the good works of John Lewis, D- GA (who the Obama-ites strong-armed into changing his superdelegate endorcement FROM Hillary TO Obama and then put up a challenger to his congressional seat) drew quite a contrast between what MLK and the Civil Rights movement of that era was REALLY about vs what Obama, Rev. Wright, Farrakhan, Sharpton, etc., are about. If you have a chance, I strongly recommend taking a peak at it.

You might be interested to learn that here in France, the media are starting to wonder what may be Obama’s real motivations for his trip to Europe next week.
A French magazine, Le Point, is warning people for the first time : “les risques de l’Obamania”. It seems that French journalists are suddenly realizing that Obama knows nothing about foreign policy and diplomacy, that he has never travelled further than Chicago or Washington ! (they say his “international image” is fake, it is an illusion : he has a kenyan father ; he was educated in Indonesia then in Hawaï ; his mother is American : but that does not mean he knows the world very well, all the more as he has shown no real interest for international problems since he arrived in the Senate).
The author of this article writes that “the myth, the great man, who is going to be greeted like a rock star in Europe next week” could finally prove to be a terrible disappointment for the world. And he also underlines the constant contradictions in Obama’s intentions in foreign affairs : a few months ago he had declared he would be ready to talk to the Iranian president Ahmadinejad ; now he says some conditions will be necessary to accept these talks.
And of course, the worst contradiction is Iraq : here, nobody understands what he really intends to do with the American troops there: will their withdrawal be immediate and unconditional or will it only happen a few months (even years) after his election ?
The general impression here is that he is coming to Europe only to promote his own candidacy in America, that this is a trip intended to Americans, not Europeans. He does not really care about Europeans, this is a promotion of himself: he wants to show all Americans that he is a serious, competent candidate, that he is well-known internationally, and that the world trusts him. But the French press reminds us that he has never been to Iraq or Afghanistan, and that for the moment, American people think McCain is more competent in the field of foreign policy, which is not logical, as McCain is a Republican, and as he is supposed to stand for Bush’s foreign policy which is criticized by a majority of Americans !
I’m also happy to read for the first time in a press article something that will please you too : Obama’s lead over Mc Cain in polls is not big enough, this is not normal : it reveals there is a problem with this candidacy. He should be ahead by fifteen or twenty points at this stage, so here everybody is starting to wonder : what is the problem with Obama ?
Finally, the article denounces the unfair media coverage of this campaign : since the beginning of June, Obama has appeared for 114 minutes on television (I suppose they mean on major TV networks) compared to 44 minutes for Mc Cain. And yet, such a small lead in polls : no, definitely, it’s not normal ! What is happening ? What is wrong with him ?

To Europeans Bush is the anti Christ. They consider him to be a war monger, a mental midget, an anti european, close to a nazi. They are still afraid to see Bush launching an attack on Iran and see the price of a gallon shooting to $10 a gallon without speaking of destabilizing the entire middle east. France just held a summit with the presidents of 40 mediterraneans nations to build stronger alliances and markets between these nations. my point being that Obama is presented to them as the anti Bush, the peace maker in Irak, the reverse of all republican policies of the past 8 years. Europeans want to be romanced, they want peace, social justice , a STABLE Middle East . So to them Obama is the return of hope of a Peaceful USA, probably hoping that OB roots will smooth things out with all arab nations. Like some democrats Europeans are having a totally emotionnal reaction to OB but for their own interest.

Re: FOX news, CNN, MSNBC/NBC in NYC. I have thought of your points about putting signs where they could see them. FOX news used to be easily visible from the street when broadcasting their shows. They could see the people looking in from the outside, people outside could see them. By the way, Sean Hannity was always very friendly to the people looking in, while Alan Colmes was not.
CNN is way up on some upstairs floor in the Time Warner building in Columbus Circle. Can’t really get up there, but sometimes you can see the anchors, etc., on the street in front of the building, having a cigarette or chatting. I’ve seen Lou Dobbs there and Jack Cafferty. Also caught Jeff Toobin coming out of the subway at the corner on his way in to work a while ago.

Finally, I rallied my students to become involved in their democracy warning ‘if you do not take control of your life, someone else, with interests different from yours, will control your life for you.’ (And I assured them that they were as capable of starting their own telecommunications empire as General Electric.)

I’ve heard here that other states, besides FL and Mich. were guilty of voting early in the democratic primaries, but since they were won by Obama they were not impuned and no one heard about them.
If this is true, I’d like some more information. This is clearly more subjugation of our democratic process and indicative of the DNC’s delection of their preferred candidate (who was always behind HRC in polling against MCCAIN). Regarding Obi’s European tour…can we not get some organized activation of PUMAs in Europe? I have seen several posts on this blog from people of international origin. Those who are viewing this from outside are shocked when they learn of the rail-roading of HRC. Though I speak to many English people and I donno what they’re looking at or hearing, but they all think Obama’s just great and don’t understand when I explain to them how our media buried HRC and the DNC selected Obama. There were several (I believe 4) states that moved out of schedule. However, I believe they petitioned earlier and got approval. Fl and Michigan were denied permission and were threatened with additional penalties (losing their whole vote). However, in Florida, it was too late to stop the state legislature (Republican dominated) from pushing through the schedule change. The DNC just did not handle the situation. It was a mess.

A few other states, I believe SC, NH, NV and maybe another… were given so-called waivers.
Maybe someone can back me up here…. but, I think another issue that doesn’t get much play are the own DNC rules suggest that DNC cannot strip more than 50%.
Another item of interest that I vaguely remember, maybe someone can chime in here, but in 2005? didn’t the DNC By Laws and Rules comittee come up with a delegate proportional system that grant some people more than one vote and some other less than a whole vote.
I think it favored inner city, but shouldn’t the DNC Primary process uphold some of our constitutional rights like 1 person/1 Vote and the right to a private ballot? (ok, caucuses abuse both of those it would appear).

I have been amazed not to read anything about the anti-obama movement or anti obama group like yours. No. No. I haven’t had chats with the media people on the streets, although I suppose one could if one was so inclined….I’ve seen them there. Close enough to be approachable, etc. Sean I’ve seen several times while walking by the building as he was broadcasting with Colmes. Sometimes I’ve paused and looked in the window. He’s always looked out at the people looking in and been friendly, waving, smiling, etc. You can’t talk to him through the glass, but you can see him, he can see you, etc.
During the 2000 election, CNN broadcast on election night right in open view on the 2nd floor of the Time Warner shopping area of the building. I saw that in person. Wolf Blitizer was there, Judy Woodruff, Anderson Cooper, Paula Zahn,Tucker Carlson, Robert Novak, James Carville, Paul Begala,…..It was very interesting. Again, Tucker Carlson, Robert Novak, Anderson Cooper….were very warm and friendly to the audience. Carville, Begala were definitely NOT. I was surprised. I would have expected the opposite.
Sometimes it almost seems so surreal like a comic book the forces of good doing battle with forces of evil. I almost expect the super hero to show up at any moment. Well maybe this time the hero(s) take on the form of a Puma. (Growl!!!)

Considering how both Hillary Clinton and John McCain did more with less during the primaries, I’d trust their economic plans in a heartbeat over Obama’s. Obama will indeed raise taxes for middle class Americans. How do I know this? Because he raised and spent obscene amounts of money during the primaries without regard for the people he wants to represent.
Oh well. Those who are foolish enough to contribute money to Obama and the DNC deserve to have their money wasted.

Jeremy, How can the dnc and media be o.k with this, they always say it’s acceptable for african americans to use this word, but it stops there. This party is divided by that kind of absurdity, now the convention is inviting hip-hop rap artists to entertain everyone. The last time I checked rap music is degrading to women, and african americans while it glorifies drugs and crime. Shouldn’t they be entertaining possible supporters and voters with songs like America the beautiful and such. I don’t get it, but like they say this is the new democratic party, they want young voters that they can manipulate and seasoned voters to sit out. If they keep this up they may very well lose alot of supporters in the future. This is the biggest dog and pony show I have ever witnessed, it is sad that the democrats have been reduced to this.

The old lady that said that was the one in the news video that was sitting in the car while they were interviewing her. She was making funny comments throughout the whole thing. My husband said that some of the Obama supporters were starting to be mean to her and so he stepped in and gave her a hug and told her she wasn’t alone. She was a republican and kept telling Dean that she didn’t care if he drilled up a polar bear’s a** as long as he got some oil. LOL

I don’t know. We will find out in the morning. I hope they didn’t misquote me. The other Puma gal was from Party Unity My Ass and kept telling them that. I kept trying to explain to them that I was from another group of Pumas and our group was People United Means Action. I have a feeling they only used hers in their article. She also gave them Will Bowers phone number and all I had was our website. I also explained to them that there were many groups under Just Say No Deal and we were from only 2 of them. That wasn’t me that was being interviewed on the video. That was the other puma gal. The man that was yelling at Dean was my husband. I don’t think I was in that video. If you look at some earlier threads that I posted today of you tube videos that we took then you will see me sitting next to the other puma gal and also being interviewed by the media. I am the one with the blonde hair, blue cap, black shirt, and blue jeans. The other puma gal was much more agressive than me so got more attention.
I had never watched Hillary with Obama when she spoke with him in Unity because I knew it would be too painful. Today I saw a clip of her with Obama. I watched half way through before turning it off, it was still hurt too much. But the look of her standing there so graciously stayed on my mind. Then it hit me. This woman has got to be the most intelligent woman I had ever known. Obama doesn’t have the experience to win and is losing in popularity every day. Obama had said himself she would never be able to get his supporters. They have meant to humiliate her and instead they have allowed his supporters to meet the real Hillary. Not the witch that they demonized to be so horrible and hated, but the true Hillary. The Hillary that is beautiful, kind and above all she is absolutely brilliant. Obama you have made a mistake you have let your guard down and you have let Hillary in.

The line about “if he doesn’t talk to these people” caught my attention. *61 is all about image and marketing.
Delphine’s remarks about *61′s trip to Europe seem to fit a pattern. To me he is very similar to President Nixon. It is all about control and not connecting to everyday Americans.
I have been told, by a black, female friend, that if I don’t vote for Obama it will cause a race riot or civil war in america.
So I said I refuse to be intimidated or blackmailed, or be made to feel guilty if I don’t do as she says and vote for the person I feel is best qualified to lead this country.
Next, she asked if I didn’t believe Obama is qualified. I replied, “No, I do not.” Then she asked me if I am racist.

So then I said, oh, yeah, Oprah Winfrey, Muhammed Ali, Michael Jordan, Obama, they are all very oppressed, right? Excuse me, but I believe they got where they are not just on inherent talent, but by the good old American characteristic called initiative and ambition.

I hope we’re not boycotting Fox cause they’re the only ones that come close to reporting the truth. Mostly the others such as CNN and MSNBC are among the worst.
They did a story on Obama complaining about criticism on Michelle. They had Geraldine Ferraro on — I always love to hear what she has to say. She agreed that Obama needs to toughen up because any surrogate on the campaign trail is fair game. Hannity looked into the camera… and said, “Senator Obama — you’ve been accusing me of saying things behind your back… so I would like to challenge you to come on this show. I will be more than happy to have you sit in this chair next to me, and I will say the same things to your face and give you the opportunity to respond.”

Today at work a coworker told me his son is following the blogs in support of Hillary, he’s 17, lol and wants to stay informed. But he asked me about something that I have not heard of and was wodering if any of you heard of it. I have to report back to him so he can give his son an answer.
He said his son read on one of the Bo blogs that Bo intends to create a new monetary system like the euro, where the US, Canada and Mexio will have the same currency. I partly wonder that if this is true, is Bo going to Europe to understand how the euro works and how it was implemented

I agree with you. I am so sick of this racial stuff coming up when it has nothing to do with what we are doing. At the rally today an Obama supporter tried to do that to me to. Once again my husband lost it and said if anyone was a racist it was Obama and the discussion got heated. One of the newspaper reporters was standing near by. I told her Please do not print that part because it will only cause problems and be taken out of context. She promised that she wouldn’t so I hope that she keeps her word. I scolded my husband and told him that even though I agreed with him that these Obama supporters love to bring race into the disscussion so that they can turn it around to make it look like we are racist. I guess I just can’t take him anywhere LOL.

That is what I worry that the majority of the AA community doesn’t understand. If BO does get the POTUS and fails it could set them way back in getting another AA elected in the future. There are so many qualified AA out there and I just don’t understand why he was picked. There have been many women run in the primaries and I have never been inspired to vote for any of them but Hillary because she was qualified and I knew that she would do women proud.

Well… at the beginning of the primary season, she was being promoted by her campaign as the favored and/or expected to win. But once BHO won Iowa, and then after that, when he had those large wins getting a lot of the black vote, things started to change. I think media saw in him a rock star image and they flowed with it.
Plus, their viewership was huge but I think they falsely attributed that to his appeal. Or at least that was how they pegged it. I don’t think they realised that a lot of us were viewing because were were very interested in what happened to Florida and Michigan. And they certainly miscalculated Hillary’s supporters and the HUGE following she had acquired.
That, and to be quite honest with you…. I think a lot of it has to do with national guilt with regards to civil rights issues. And CNN, being located in downtown Atlanta Georgia has a large black following; not to mention a lot of their news contributors are black.

AA, MA (mexican-americans), LA (latin-americans)—I respect the culture of everyone, but that is what America was built on…ONE COUNTRY called America—PERIOD. Every culture has gifts and values to bring into the system that makes it that much better. When we try to take one of those pieces that completes the whole puzzle out or make that one piece more special or less special—the WHOLE puzzle loses. Hillary Clinton did not bring in division—she was inclusive—of everyone and every view point. That is why she was successful with Bill O’Reilly and that interview and that is why she earned the respect of Republicans like John McCain and Joe Scarborough and others. She brings everybody in and if someone looked left out she asked—WHY?

One of the things I picked up on in that interview was how she COMPARED the Oracle with Howie and that they were “identical” in their ideology, etc. Also, she said it looked like Howie was seeing himself through the Oracle and also had a “chip” on his shoulder regarding the Clintons. IOW, their coverage was extremely biased.
They were running on payback time, or on the idea of the sins of the father shall be held against the son… only in the case of the primary, their transposed all their failings and misgivings onto his wife.

I read the article link you provided and I have a problem with the quoted section I pasted above. I keep seeing this logic reported often which always sets me off on wanting to rant to set the record straight.
I am absolutely convinced that Obama did not remove his name from the Michigan ballot in an attempt to comply with rules. If that was the case — then why did he disobey the rules to advertise in Florida. He took his name off the ballot because Obama knows his way around the ballot. In fact — do a google search on “Obama knows his way around a ballot” and you’ll get the Chicago Tribune story of how he knocked out his competition when running for Senator.
My point is — that this was a long term plan — highly orchestrated with Dean and Pelosi as well as his advisors (Axelrod and company). If you watched the RBC meeting on May 31st, there was a guy there who was pleading the case for Michigan on Clinton’s behalf (I can’t remember his name). And he made the point that Michigan needs to change the rules to prevent the candidates (under that situation) from removing their name from the ballot… and the only reason Obama didn’t remove his name from Florida is because Florida has a law that prevents it. Why would he make this point? To me he was trying to send a subtle message that confirmed my own suspicions that Obama knew that by removing his name — he would have the legal advantage to negotiate for all the undeclared votes. He knew he was going to make that argument.
So I take offense with any implications by the news media that Obama was following the rules. Obama knows his way around a ballot to feed his ambition of winning. Simple as that.

Someone said awhile back that they wished that all candidates could be disguised and voice distorted and that all that they could do is discuss the issues etc. and we would not even know what gender or race they were. I too wish that we could have elections like this. I am tired of hearing that he is too old, she is too woman, he is too black. I don’t care about any of those things. I want to vote on the issues but also the character of the person. I want a leader that will make us proud when they interact with other leaders around the world, and that will make their top priority to keep us safe. This whole election has been a circus and I am sure that the rest of the world is laughing at us.
When neither of the candidates got enough pledged delegates…why couldn’t they join forces and both go after the republican party. Nobody should have been declared the nominee before the convention. The super delegates should have all kept their mouths shut until then. Maybe if that would have happened then our party would not have been fractured. Also they need to get rid of the caucus system and should punish party leaders instead of voters when a state votes early.
I am sorry about the ranting but this whole thing just stinks. There are no winners. Even if Hillary wins at the convention it will be hard to pull the party back together because then his supporters would feel like we do.

If you remember the California Debate—the two were virtually at a stalemate. He had “maxed” out with all of his Potomac Primary wins. He knew he was going to get kicked during Super Tuesday. After her big wins, including Texas—I could saw the “Dream Ticket.” If the DEMS really wanted to take back the White House in November, they should have pulled Barack aside and tell him–”This is not your year. I watched Hillary throughout her campaign and she gained my respect going up against two male candidates and a corrupt and biased system. The way you talk it you almost make it sound like the world might see us as a party. (LOL) Who knows the way we’re going now we might just become one.
It is so sad, this primary has set race relations way back in this country. Also, it is sickening that the 3 major networks are going to travel with Obama on his visit to foreign countries. The only legit journalist is Lou Dobbs; he spoke about it today and how it is so unbelievable that the media is traveling with Obama, but paying no attention to McCain. They (the media) are going to make sure their Nobama is elected.
In addition, I was really bummed after speaking to my sister who said that Obama will be elected and Hillary is out, and there is nothing we can do but accept it. I told her that is wasn’t just about the election, but also about sexism and the fact that the DNC and the media decided who they would run. She just doesn’t get it, but I will try not to let it affect my getting involved.

In February, Obama said he would Fillibuster the FISA vote, the vote came up, he folded like a house of cards. Do any of you remember Obama’s foreign advisor, that told a Europeon paper that he couldn’t withdraw troops from Iraq as soon as he was president, that it was just political talk? She was gone from his campaign the day the story came out.
Not supporting Obama has nothing to do with Repubs and McCain, for most of us, it’s about not supporting a party that didn’t need us 2 months ago and want to blame us when things aren’t going their way now. It’s about the promises already broken and the GE is months away.

I’ll post them one-at-a-time so these posts won’t be too long. This first letter referred to that moment when so many networks tried to imply Hillary was conceding:

While watching tonight’s show I thought I heard you reference Hillary’s comment to Obama about “we’ll be fine whatever happens” 4 times, and each time you seemed to imply that you thought she was making some kind of concession speech. Far from it, many of us Clinton fans saw that as the strongest moment of the whole debate.
Hillary really shined in tonight’s debate because:
a) she showed she has more experience
b) she showed she has better understanding of foreign affairs
c) when answering the last question of the night, she showed the voters Obama doesn’t have the monopoly on life experiences; Hillary’s been through some savage attacks while in the White House before, and she’s a fighter (and survivor) who can stand up to that.
d) she didn’t stick her chin up in the air the whole time like Obama did.
e) in the final moments, she took the high road by throwing her full support to the Democratic party.
To many of your viewers a moment as gracious as this in the world of politics is definitely a moment of POWER. I for one, think she can, and will, win.

#2 letter, March 12th
Need to tell you that the last few weeks, it appears that night after night, Countdown is finding new and different ways to discount or put down Hillary Clinton. It isn’t just any one thing, it’s the repetitive way the show keeps commenting on things about Clinton they don’t like.
Do we really “know” what is going on in Senator Clinton’s mind? I think not, but I’d hazard a guess she may still believe, as many of us do, that Obama is just not up to the job of being our nation’s next President. He’s good, to be sure, he just needs more time!
And she probably also still believes, as many of us do, that one of the main advantages he has had in his campaign has been the positive treatment he has received from the News Media up until the night SNL did the comedy skit about him, doing a great job of raising people’s awareness that the playing field wasn’t fair.
And, she probably also believes – as many of us do – that if she ran a campaign based on inspirational speeches only, it would be too “soft” of a campaign for ANY woman to win. Because no one would vote for her. That’s reality. We’ve got a lot more enemies internationally – including terrorists, may I remind you – since Bush came into office…
Is it a gender thing, Keith, about Hillary?
I predict if you stay on this course of flailing on Clinton night after night that your ratings are going to suffer, but more importantly, you will end up feeling a little foolish because…
