The Unlamented Death of the U.S. Citizen

QUOTE OF THE DAY:  “Organize, agitate, educate must be our war cry!” - Susan B. Anthony

Read this post by my hero, Riverdaughter, to find out what’s going on for Puma PAC. She does it WAY better than I could, so I’m going to lean on her. Then come back.

Apparently we watch television for four and a half hours a day. After sleeping and working I think that means we spend ALL of our time watching T.V. It makes our minds weak and our wills weaker. Advertising has an unambiguous and proven effect on our brains. TURN IT OFF. Everyone will be happier. Everyone will be smarter. Everyone will be more calm and kind. Everyone will be a better citizen.

What does this have to do with anything, you may ask? Watching television is an exercise in brain conditioning. Kind of like cult indoctrination. Here’s how it works. Read this and in comments cite specific examples of cult indoctrination techniques you’ve observed in a certain “Leader’s” Movement.

1. The Goal
Every cult has a stated, vague and metaphorical goal. Because this goal must serve as the “illuminated eye” of the pyramid, it cannot be attainable. Rather, it is expressed as an abstract idea – like “salvation” – which the cult members will enjoy once they have made it to the top of the pyramid.

2. A Charismatic Leader
All cults – whether spiritual or mundane – have a charismatic figurehead. The leader must be someone whose speech, manner and energy exert inexplicable influence. In religious cults, the leader attains his divine status in one of two ways. The first is by claiming to be the hand-picked successor to the last guru. The second is by claiming to embody an entirely new spiritual force – either to have been born sacred or to have suffered an “awakening” trauma or a sudden “new breeze” of insight.

3. Sacred Doctrine
Most cults have a sacred text or doctrine. Often a cult will adopt an established text, like the Bible or the Koran. Others use a spontaneously revealed doctrine. These are usually “channeled” or transcribed.

4. Divine Coincidence
New members must learn of the cult as if by grace. If the members believe they came to the cult through conscious or rational process, then they are in a position to take responsibility and credit for their participation. Cults try to avoid this perception because members should be separated from their sense of willpower in order to be fully indoctrinated.

5. Positive Results Through Commitment

While discovery and introduction are almost always free, the newcomer is told that he will experience satisfaction only when he has made a financial or equivalent commitment. At sales meetings for another of the cults I investigated, writing a check was equated with the first step toward changing one’s life, and new members reported feeling results the moment they made this commitment.

6. Extraordinary Measures
Once new members have made their initial surrender or contribution to the cult, they are asked to do something that contradicts their judgement. What’s important is that the act goes against the new members’ own internal sense of appropriateness. The members must get used to acting against their own values.

7. Member Complicity
Once an extraordinary measure is taken, the members are rewarded with complicity in the greater pyramid. To get out of the cult after this act of complicity, a member will have to own up to all of the cult’s practices as if they were his/her own.

8. A Cycle of Breaking “Self”
After extracting extraordinary measures and complicity, the cult exploits the commonly practiced spiritual discipline of self-denial and demands increasingly difficult acts of faith from its followers. Sometimes these requests seem to benefit the cult – members are instructed to donate huge sums of money or contribute tremendous time and labor to the cult. Just as often, however, these requests will be completely arbitrary or even against the interests of the cult. By interspersing real requests with these random and bizarre instructions, the cult can avoid the appearance of self-interest. It can also paralyze the followers’ ability to second-guess cult actions.

9. Confusion and Transference
By alternating self-interested and random demands, the cult brings its followers into a state of great confusion – they aren’t sure how to please the cult. Sometimes leaders will reward members who fail to carry out commands, and punish those who complete them successfully. The CIA suggests using rewards and punishments in a random, illogical manner so that the subjects regress into a childlike dependence. Similarly, the confused cult member will eventually regress to a childlike state and transfers parental authority to the cult leaders – which is why so many cult leaders insist on being called “Mother” or “Father.”

Titles like “President,” “Bishop,” and “Apostle” all imply these people are authority figures that should be obeyed.
10. Prescriptive Behavior
Like any victim of induced regression and transference, once their ability to make decisions have been suspended, the cult members look to their leaders for guidance on how to behave. They long for direction on what to think, do an believe.

11. The Goal of Inclusion
Once transference has been achieved, the elusive stated goal of the pyramid cult is replaced with the much more tangible one of establishing a relationship with the cult leaders and acceptance in the cult. The cult members become, in effect, siblings competing for their parent’s approval. The result is a prolonged psychodrama that capitalizes on unresolved issues from the members’ own family backgrounds. The cult leaders orchestrate emotional battles, pitting members against one another as they seek to develop a “special relationship” with the leaders.

12. Never Expose Uncertainty to Those Lower in the Pyramid
By the time a member is this far into a cult, he/she is required to preserve the illusion of its cohesion and perfection.

13. Never Expose Uncertainty to Those Higher in the Pyramid

Eventually, any expression of doubt at all is deemed offense against the cult. To spread one’s misgivings to a higher member is, in effect, a challenge to that member’s own resolve. Such expressions can be allowed up to a point, but ultimately the members must learn that they are the source of their won doubts and must overcome crisis without spreading confusion to others. Confessing one’s misgivings to a higher member merely affirms the latter’s superior status in the pyramid. If one is to move up, he/she must show less doubt and more commitment that those above him/her.

14. The Cult Precludes All Other Commitments
One by one, each member’s connection with the real world must be reinterpreted as base “attachments” that need to be limited or purged. The member’s original religion, job, friends, spouse and children are less important that his relationship with the cult and its leaders. The members must not gain positive reinforcement from anything or anyone outside of the cult. Family and social bonds are reinterpreted as distractions from the higher values the member is adopting. All real-world associating, inevitably and by design, come into conflict with one’s commitment to the higher goal.

15. Never Refuse a Request
A member may never refuse a request made by a cult leader, or in the name of the cult. To do so is to place some other value ahead of the sanctity of the group.

16. All Requests Can Be Challenged
A cult member who has made an inappropriately personal or self-interested request in the name of the cult will be challenged. On the other hand, members who are in the leader’s favor can get away with almost anything of those beneath them.

17. Never Take Action in the Cult Leaders’ Names
The cult leaders are free from all responsibility. To make a request in the cult leader’s name is to blame the cult leader for any ill will that might result. To claim, for example, that “I divorced my wife because the leader told me to” is to refuse responsibility for one’s own actions. Although a cult leader may have “shown the way,” a member divorces his wife or disowns his children because it’s the “right thing to do.” To use the leader as an excuse is just another way to express doubt.

18. Act Automatically
Members must strive to act in accordance with the cult leaders’ wishes without thinking. The conditioning, confusion, and fear to which the members are subjected result in a set of new behaviors that take the place of what normally might be called intuition or instinct. Once achieved, this automatic behavior is a welcome relief from the constant questioning of one’s own actions.

19. Witness and Accept the Leaders’ Faults
Once they reach the highest levels of the cult pyramid, members are privy to their leaders’ darkest actions. Members must also come to terms with the abusive behavior of their leaders.

20. The Cult Leaders Are Perfection

The final stage of cult indoctrination is to accept the leaders as the perfect center of the universe, from which all else derives. The “fully evolved” cult member thus understands all the pain and suffering as resistance to the cult leaders’ divinity. The leader is the single point of entry for God and perfection in the otherwise imperfect universe.

Once cult leaders have achieved such a stature in his followers’ minds, the leader can ask them to do anything, even to kill themselves. They already have been trained to go against their own instincts. Thwarting one’s natural tendency toward self-preservation becomes a pleasurable, almost fetishistic obsession. As members look for more outrageous ways to break their own attachment to life, suicide emerges as the ultimate act of devotion.

Obama, the preacher, really irritates many of us. It appears he buys into “Cult Indoctrination.”

To the Mid-West PUMAs, I received a ‘restriced’ call from Sen. Evan Bayh’s office a little bit ago, in response to my fax I sent this morning. She asked for my e-mail address so that Sen. Bayh can reply back to my letter (we’ll see what actually happens there though).

I’ve always liked Evan Bayh, and I know he’s politicking just like Hillary, but I hope he at least falters in his thinking because of our actions and letters. Either way, it was nice to actually be acknowledged by an actual human being for a letter sent to a Democratic leader. I’ll keep you guys informed if I actually hear back from Bayh or his office.

Good morning Pumas,

Got an email from the MN DFL this am bragging about Obama opening new offices here and wanting a donation. (gee, they need money!!)

Sent back a reply that said do not send me any more junk about Obama. I am not voting for a selected, not elected, nominee for president. I am 1 of 18 million Hillary Clinton supporters and a member of PUMApac.
Please check our website: http://blog.pumapac.org and find out for yourself what we are about. We are also part of the JustSayNoDeal Coalition and we are not voting for Obama.

I’ll see if I get anymore requests from them.

Hillary hurt Obama in Gary, Indiana…it went uncovered in the press of course. And after Bayh voted against Dr. Rice’s confirmation as Sec. of State blacks in Indiana were furious.

Since the last post died just as I posted this:

Hey folks, sorry I’ve not been around much. Been moving, and will be for the next few days. I haven’t blogged since Monday, but I have a new post up today, dealing with one of the “tells” in the Making It article in the New Yorker. Sour Grapes discusses the Obama campaign’s strategy for discredit internal opposition.

Also, not sure you all are aware, but Rasmussen is polling Hillary again, and she is blowing McCain out of the water. Obama is polling within the margin of error. DBrown has the scoop at Alegre’s Corner. Money quote from Rasmussen:

These numbers help explain why Election 2008 is competitive even though events so heavily favor the Democrats — because the Republicans are on course to nominate their strongest possible general election candidate but the Democrats are not.

His new ad says he “worked his way” through college and law school. His campaign says he had two summer jobs.

As in his last ad, this one touts three bills that Obama “passed,” and once again we’re not told whether the bills were products of the Illinois Senate or the U.S. Senate. We’ll fill you in: In this ad, all three pieces of legislation mentioned were passed in the Illinois Senate.

Remember Normita ( I think) from Hillary’s site? She would always ask us to light a candle. Well, instead of a virtual candle, what if we try to light a REAL candle daily/weekly…however often you can do it for 44 minutes….this will help bring our efforts into REALITY. During the 44 minutes..concentrate on asking for the PROTECTION of white light around Hillary, Murphy, all the PUMA’s and the coaliton’s efforts to bring about REAL CHANGE to a corrupt and unjust political system. Concentrate on seeing the bemused faces of the DNC when Hillary is voted in as the nominee at the convention. Concentrate on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton being sworn in as the 44th POTUS….and take the time to write a SD or complete a PUMA action. There is STRENGTH in NUMBERS…there is POWER in our COLLECTIVE thoughts!!! Come back on this website to let us know you have lit your candle for 44 MINUTES!! Off to light my candle for the day.

Comment on Murphy’s Opening Commentary on “Cults”.

1) Obama’s Initial Underlying Campaign Theme:

“Anti-Establishment” (Obama campaigned relentlessly on breaking the stronghold “status quo of old-school Washington Politics”).

Theme used: “Change” (I will fix what is broken)

2) Obama Masterfully diverts attention from his own history of old school Chicago-Style Politics

Theme used: “Hope” (something new)

3) Condemn all opposition (they are the “enemies of change and hope”)

Theme used: I represent “Good” and they represent “Evil” (diversity vs racists, new world fellowship vs American elitism, transparency vs secrecy, young vs old, I will always tell you the truth vs they will always lie to you, I am above reproach vs they need to be destroyed)

4) Money = Total Control of the Process

Theme used: As long as we out-raise them we are indestructable

5) Power = Control the Process – Control the System, Control the System – Control the Opposition, Control the Opposition – Control Democracy, Control Democracy – everyone is expendable, when everyone is expendable – it promotes an underlying sense of disempowerment, when there is an underlying sense of disempowerment – it promotes manageability

Aniticipating capturing, taming, controlling and managing PUMAS was not in the playbook, I’m sure.

My letter to senator Byah:
Dear Senator Byah:

I am a long time democrat, living in Indiana. I have been active in several campaigns, and have always had your sign in my yard whenever you were running for governor or the Senate. I am a long time Hillary Clinton Supporter. I worked very hard as a volunteer in this year’s primary. I have never cast a republican vote in a presidential race in the 36 years that I have been voting.

I am very disturbed by the actions of the Democratic Party. I am almost reluctant to call us democratic anymore. The more I research and investigate, add numbers, and scrutinize the results of the primary election, the more I am disturbed by the graft and corruption that I find. I am becoming more and more convinced that Mr. Obama did not win the primary, indeed, he lost by a sizeable margin: to Hillary. Why then is he the presumed nominee?

Now I hear that there will not be the traditional roll call vote at the convention, for all of the candidates that ran this year. This angers me. Hillary, and the rest, should be allowed to have their names called and their delegates acknowledged. This is a shameful act by an ego driven candidate and a control freak chairman.

I notice that you are out campaigning for Mr. Obama. Why? Do you really support him, or is this just more of that party unity that we have heard so much about? I would like to express in the strongest possible terms, I do not think it is appropriate for a Hillary supporter such as yourself to be out campaigning for someone who: A. lost the election; B. is only the presumptive nominee until after the convention.

I would like to remind us all that the ‘super delegates’ are the ones who SELECTED Mr. Obama: HE WAS NOT the choice of the Democratic rank and file voter. It is entirely appropriate to hold any endorsement until after the convention. It is entirely appropriate for you and all the other super delegates from Indiana to vote for Hillary on a first ballot at the convention, as that would be doing the will of the people of Indiana.

I beg you to please push for her to have a place on that first ballot at the convention. I also beg you to stop the premature support of Mr. Obama, he is not the choice of the people. I also ask that you reconsider throwing your support behind him on that first ballot.

I may have been able to force myself to support Mr. Obama before the recent FISA vote, but not now. I will not vote for him. That forces me to try to find some way to put Senator Clinton up for nomination and fight for her to be the one to lead us out of the troubles our nation faces.
Sincerely,
my name
PUMA Democrat

Feel free to use these ideas for contacting other super delegates.

Susie1945
I am from MN also and I tried to contact our local DFL with no luck….there is never anyone there. But my question to you is why is it (besides the obvious) that on the website of DFL if you go to presidental canidates that it not only show the Chosen One. That was on of the reasons I tried calling them. They have stuff about the process, convention, donations etc but then the convention has even happened yet they show nothing of anybody except him. SO SO SAD

Also to all
I called and talked to the DNC a guy by the name of Tony (have talked to him before as I believe have others). I discussed alot with him in a respectful, firm, fact based conversation….which he did seem somewhat interested in…with so many calls I believe they are all in “shut down mode (and mood).

But I was able to confirm again as much as can believe them that there will be a roll call, her name along with others (he mentioned Edwards cause his campaign is suspended also) names will be on the ballot, they will be allowed to make a speech, and ppl will be allowed to vote as they chose without being pressured on how they have to vote or can change their original vote. Now the last part I do not believe that to be because of all that has happened and is out there about this – but he then stated that the candidate that is on the ballot has to “want” to be on it and can refuse it.
I asked him is it correct that Sen Clinton has suspended her campaign….he said yes
I asked him is it correct that Sen Clinton has not gven away any of her delegate votes….he said yes.
I asked him has Sen Clinton asked for her name to not be put on the ballot…..he said not that he is aware of.

SO for whatever it is worth which I take with a grain of salt – I have a feeling that there is going to be some same of “pony poop” that will happen leading up to the convention and at it….JMO

But that does NOT mean that I am going to roll over and play with some “catnip” not at all.

Like my husband says when we go fishing and I have a big northern on the line –
” Keep the tension on em’ Honey “

The Jib Jab cartoon is hilarious. Obama is riding a unicorn of into the sunset. Hillary isn’t dealt a bad hand either. Obama looks like a fool in the video, talking about change. Then McCain runs him over with a tank.

#40 MountainSong on 07.16.08 at 1:19 pm

The city council in the city where I live~~Bellingham, WA~~~just passed a resolution condemning going to war with Iran. Apparently they believe, as I do that the upcoming ‘diplomatic mission’ is the last warning to Iran.
As if things aren’t bad enough already, wait til Israel (and the USA) strike Iran. The entire Mideast will become the theater for World War III.
And NO ONE in their right mind is going to elect the brash, inexperienced newcomer Obama as Commander in Chief under such circumstances.

#41 KENDALBLUE on 07.16.08 at 1:21 pm

MURPHY @@@@@@@@@@@
The article in riverdaughter was awsome. You guys keep amazing me. Way to go !! What I read was something I have always known in my gut about nobama’s pre planned nomination.
I had my friend here during the primaries from Argentina. She followed everything as closely as I did. And was a HUGE Hillary supporter. Even giving money to her campaign, even though she is not a citizen here. But she loves this country.

She told me months ago (around feb) that there were forces behind nobama that we didn’t even know about. And eventually we would find out. She should know, she has been around corrupt politics all of her life. She was sooo right !!

As for me, I refused to (at that point believe it ) because afterall, THIS IS AMERICA !! That kind of thing doesn’t go on here. YEAH RIGHT !! Gosh Murphy, I will give my whole bank bank account if I have to to keep wageing this fight against the big machine that wants to silence us, keep us down, and throw us into socialism or worse than that.

I often FEAR what will happen if this crooked IDIOT gets in to office. Very afraid for my country. There is an underground extreme liberal movement going on in this country. I have known this for some time. But just how deep it goes is quite another thing. If I must go down, I will go down swinging.

I will not lay down and let these powers to be take my country away..Thank you Murphy and so many others, for all that you do each and everyday to keep us motivated and moving towards this cause bigger than anyone can imagine……J

What you’re seeing are likely ‘bundlers’. They are pooling donations from various individuals who give smaller donations. That’s sort of what the Hillraisers did for Senator Clinton, of which I was one and I believe Heidi Li Feldman may have been one as well. She’s collected about $100,000 for Senator Clinton I believe.

Clinton Offers Donors Option to Redirect Their Funds
By Anne E. Kornblut

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is giving donors to her general election fund an option: either take the money back, or contribute it to her 2012 Senate re-election coffer.

“We are asking for your immediate help in designating your generous 2008 general election contribution to Senator Clinton’s 2012 re-election campaign,” the letter, signed by Clinton campaign treasurer Shelly Moskwa, says. “All we need is your signature, but we need for you to reply immediately.” The letter tells donors to respond by sending back a form in a postage-paid envelope, or by fax, or even by going to the campaign web site.

By law, Clinton cannot redirect those contributions straight to Sen. Barack Obama, her campaign said. She has been to three fundraisers for Obama since ceding the Democratic nomination to him, in addition to making calls to her donors on his behalf. Despite continued wariness from some of her donors to making the switch to back Obama, Clinton herself is reportedly stepping up her effort to raise money for him — while also hurrying to retire her debt and reallocate her general election funds before the Aug. 28 deadline, after which time all the money for her general election has to be given back to the donors. Clinton also cannot repay her $11 million in personal loans after the end of August.

A new fundraiser for Clinton has also just been arranged for July 29 in Washington. She will be holding a 90-minute reception with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the IBEW-AFL-CIO building — with a range of $500 to $5,000 (for political action committees) required to attend.

I think this is one of those places and explains the passion we all feel here.

OBAMA-NOT GOOD FOR AMERICA..
Peel away the lies and political rhetoric Obama and Michelle wrap themselves in and this is what you will find:
*Black nationalists whose priorities place the interests of blacks first and foremost before any other race..
*Haters of so-called “white” (European culture and civilization)..in their hearts they venemously seethe with hatred of this aspect especially..
*If elected,Obama true to his black nationalist sentiments will do his best to enable the creation of a black federal bureacracy..give blacks preference in federal appointments, posts, contracts, jobs etc.etc..
(It seems reasonable to see how Hispanics and Asians should be VERY concerned about this factor) …this is the practical way Obama will carry out his black nationalist ideology..
*The racial politics that Obama manipulates in a cynical way will only further divide Americans along racial lines and create an accelerated Tribalist mentality ..A BALKANIZATION of America so to speak..
…just read Obamas and Michelles works..it’s all there..

#65 slient1971 on 07.16.08 at 1:59 pm

The fact that that there is an effective BHO cult is certainly not surprising in view of the response many of them have when they know you were for Hillary and won’t vote for him.
I have had very heated arguments with some in my family about BHO’s candidacy.
I do wonder, if a miracle occurs, and Hillary if the POTUS candidate for 2008, how the BHO group would react.
In some sense, I wonder is letting them expel their steam for 2008, and McCain being elected, would create a better atmosphere for POTUS in 2012.

REALITY CULT CHECK IN AMERICAN HISTORY:
May be a moot point now, but it’s recently occurred to me that a lot of the Koolaid references made are most likely falling on deaf ears, since I believe the original reference was based on 1978s Rev. Jim Jones’ cyanide-spiked Koolaide–resulting in the largest mass suicide of Americans in history (over 900 men, women and children died). The majority of Nobama’s supporters are in an age group who don’t remember or don’t even know of this news event. But they should. It’s a primo example of what a cult is and exactly the harm it can do…and did do (to Americans) in this case, in the late 70s.

#77 ClintonRules on 07.16.08 at 2:08 pm

I read a comment from Taffy (i think) about some guy asking if I were here. I bet its Marc4Hill…anyway, I think its good that we can at least get someone at the DNC to “confirm” (however trustworthy the source is) that Hillary will be on the ballot, but sometimes people call and ask if she’ll be on the ballot for roll call and others just ask if her name will be on the ballot.

Are there any plans for another mass calling? This time with the demand (respectfully) that her name be on the ballot for nomination? Or have we had this “confirmed” as well?

There are so many posts, i may have missed something :)

#93 ClintonRules on 07.16.08 at 2:24 pm

I know I dont post often (I’m a bit of a lurker) but I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the hard work and dedication you’ve been putting into this cause. I truly believe that Hillary will be the nominee. It’s a strange feeling because its so overwhelming…like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Usually when I have trouble sleeping, I write long blogs which, at the time, make no sense to me until I read over them the next morning. I wrote one at about 3 this morning and I’d like to share it with you guys. Hopefully it lifts anyone who may be feeling down:

I understand why our dear Hillary must show her support for NObama. I understand why she must at least pretend to enjoy sharing the stage with him. I understand she is in a very delicate position, both wanting to help us and also wanting to save face (politically speaking.) Yes DNC, surprisingly I am a Clinton support who understands a lot more than you’d like to admit.

I can honestly say that I don’t believe Senator Clinton could ever say/do anything that would cause me to turn away from her. I’ve done extensive research on her entire career and can’t find anything I would condemn her for. Her voting record is a pristine example of what we need in the White House. I would put my life in her hands and trust her to do the best thing in order to save me…and that speaks volumes, as I don’t generally have a positive perception of politicians. I trust Bill as much as Hillary, they wouldn’t sell me out for some superficial title or an unnecessary political advancement. You know, it just occured to me, the Clintons aren’t your average politicians.

I could never say that I no longer support Senator Clinton, however I want to make this as clear as possible: IF she were to accept a VP spot under NObama, I would not follow her lead. I’ve been quoted as saying that I’d do anything for Senator Clinton, and I would. However, if you pay close attention to my statement, you will see that I said I’d do anything for SENATOR CLINTON, NOT the DNC, NOT NObama, ONLY SENATOR CLINTON. The fact that she is showing her support for him (at the moment) is just something I must accept and deal with. In not supporting him, I am doing exactly what I believe Senator Clinton has taught me throughout the primaries: I’ve been taught (by the best possible teacher) that giving up would be a grave error. I’ve been knocked down and pushed back, but I’ve pulled myself off the floor and fought against those who told me to give up…just like Senator Clinton.

I do believe Senator Clinton will win our nomination back. I believe a floor fight will be administered. I don’t care how vicious said fight becomes, I would be there in a heartbeat to defend the Clintons. To be completely honest: to deny her the right to fight FAIRLY for this nomination is to deny the core of the Democratic party the chance to restore at least a small fraction of belief in our party. To deny a floor fight would be a grave error, we’re already mad, do you really think denying Senator Clinton the opportunity to fight is going to calm us down?

A floor fight, whether it becomes verbally vicious or physically brutal, is EXACTLY what needs to happen. The NObamabots may believe they’ve got this nomination in the bag, but with the amount of passion Clinton supporters have towards our efforts in fairness and OUR choice for President, I believe if one finger is placed upon any Clinton, a new bag will be opened…and from within that bag, a forceful defense will arise…PUMAS will NOT allow anything to happen to the Clintons, to Democracy, or to America…

A floor fight MUST happen. I’m fairly certain there are more than 18,000,000 of us by now…does the DNC really want to risk an all out war? A floor fight would be so much safer.

So…to me its just a bunch of dribble (maybe its because I’m the one who wrote it?)

But I hope it inspires you guys :)

The problem for the “Obama Cult” is that the cult leader has no beliefs whatsoever.

Usually, a cult leader is unswaying in his/her beliefs, no matter how crazy those beliefs may be. It is the cult leader’s focus and intensity which makes the movement work.

Seen in this light, it’s no wonder the Obama cult is disintegrating before our eyes. They picked the wrong guy to lead it.

different pots filled with water.

The reflections are many,
but they are each reflecting the same sun.

Similarly, when we come to know who we truly are,
we will see ourselves in all people.

The following just in an email to me from Womens Media Center

Dear Mary Pat,

I’ve spent a considerable amount of time examining and thinking about the much maligned “satiric” New Yorker cover-the one with Michelle and Barack Obama dressed as terrorists, a portrait of Osama bin Laden on the wall, a flag burning in the fireplace. Michelle Obama, armed with afro and AK47, gives Barack a conspirational fist bump. I’ve been accused by friends of not having much of a sense of humor, so I wanted to give it a fair appraisal before responding. I even reviewed the definition of “satire.” It doesn’t have to be funny–satire can be ironic–and can have elements of attack, ridicule and censure.

That said, The New Yorker owes the Obamas, and the rest of us, an apology–and retraction of the cover. I know that those of us who demand this will be called predictable “whiners,”enemies of free speech and, of course, humorless. But a line was crossed here by a publication seemingly not the least bit in touch with the murmuring, low grade fires of unrest burning across this country. Not clever enough by half, the cartoon reinforces the worst fears of those who experience the Obamas as “unknown” and legitimizes those who’ve been agitating a colossal smear effort.

The characterization of Michelle Obama is particularly gratuitious–the militant, angry black woman–complete with an attack weapon. In the old days, before everybody (women, people of color, the working class) got hot under the collar, this “satire” would have been acceptable, ever so charming stuff. Now it’s singularly obtuse, and worse. It makes one wonder, again, about the makeup of the New Yorker staff–was it not diverse enough to elicit even a single protest?

The Women’s Media Center joins our colleagues at NOW, The Feminist Majority, The National Council of Women’s Organizations,The Women’s Coalition for Dignity and Diversity in the Media, The National Council for Black Civic Participation, The Coalition of 100 Black Women, and others–representing over 15 million women and men–in calling for retraction of the cover. Go here (http://www.capwiz.com/now/issues/alert/?alertid=11623206) and here (http://salsa.wiredforchange.com/o/1269/t/3076/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=2243) to sign our partners’ petitions to let the publishers of The New Yorker know how you feel.

As a result of last week’s newsletter addressing the issue of op-ed writers, we were invited to submit one to The Christian Science Monitor, available online (link to http://www.csmonitor.com/2008/0716/p09s01-coop.html) and in print today. And take a look at what columnists Ellen Goodman (link to http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2008/06/13/the_best_revenge_get_even/) and Carol Marin (link to http://www.suntimes.com/news/marin/1022876,CST-EDT-Carol25.article) have said about WMC.

#97 mpk on 07.16.08 at 2:26 pm

My answer to WMC
With all due respect, while I did find the cover a bit over the top, I have to say that I find it interesting that Womensmediacenter would have to make a public outcry about it when nary a peep was made when all heck broke loose against Hillary Clinton and the sexism in the media-as it was happening-over and over and over again. Please “cry me a river” as they say. Mr and Mrs Obama are now front and center in the public eye-they are going to have to take their lumps -just like Hillary Clinton has been doing for a very long time and with dignity I might add. Respectfully, Mary Pat Kunert

Cynthia’s acceptance speech for the Green Party:

And just like the women and men at the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 who declared their independence from the Old Order, I celebrated my birthday last year by doing something I had done a dozen times in my head, but had never done publicly: I declared my independence from every bomb dropped, every threat leveled, every civil liberties rollback, every child killed, every veteran maimed, every man tortured, and the national leadership that let this happen. At that pro-peace rally in front of the Pentagon, I noted that nowhere on the Democratic Party’s Congressional Agenda for their first 100 days in the majority was any mention at all of a livable wage, the right of return for Katrina survivors, repealing the Patriot Acts, the Secret Evidence Act, the Military Commissions Act, or bringing our troops home now. Nowhere on the Congressional Democrats’ agenda was an investigation into the Pentagon’s “loss” of $2.3 trillion that Rumsfeld admitted to just before September 11th. And nowhere was there any plan to get that money back for jobs, health care, education, and for veterans. Not even repeal of the Bush tax cuts that have helped to usher in, according to some, levels of income inequality not experienced in this country since the Great Depression. And instead of Articles of Impeachment to hold the criminals accountable, impeachment was taken “off the table.”

Barack…he’s talking down to black people…telling n—s how to behave.

So, yes. Jesse Jackson did use the “N” word. But it was not directed at Barack Obama. Fox News and Bill O’Reilly have maintained there was more on the tape, but that the un-aired portion was not relevant to the issue at hand: about whether Obama was “talking down” to the black community.

More: O’Reilly will be on with Shepard Sm

I just sent my response to the Women’s Media Center. I wasn’t going to dignify WMC’s concerns about the unflattering portrayal of the Obamas, especially after Hillary endured so much and few people defended her. So I focused on other things. Enjoy …

******************************

Dear Carol,

You’re probably right that the New Yorker owes Americans an apology … but not for crossing a line, rather for not going far enough. The artwork on the cover falls far short of illustrating how inexperienced and unqualified Obama is and how bad he would be for America and the world. The artwork falls far short of illustrating the great disparity between Obama’s words and his actions. The artwork falls far short of depicting Obama’s flip-flopping and pandering.

i couldn’t care less how Michelle styles her hair, what clothing the Obama’s wear, what artwork they hang on the wall, or what they use for kindling in the fireplace. I care how they will destroy the country if Obama is elected.

I hope the New Yorker will have the courage and conviction to keep drawing attention to what a mistake that flawed candidate is.

Puma folks, I am new to this site. This is my first day of posting. I have tried to register since the beginning but kept having problems. Anyway, I feel something in the air. Something big lurking. I don’t think the SD switching is a rumor. The article said that SDs for BO stated if the DNC ran a fair convention and put Hillary on the ballot they would cast their vote for her. This is different than SDs openly switching now which would hit the media and cause uproar. But this is where the switching counts! If you add in the fatc Hillary is still hanging on to her delegates, tells me shes not done fighting. Right now her hands are tied with her debt. If we truly want her to have a shot we need to relieve her debt now! Maybe thats why shes been silent. Hoping her debt is cleared in time. Think about it? What would happen if her debt was not only relieved, but she starts to net gain before the convention? Hillary would have new life and would have a solid reason to demand she be put on the ballot. I’m going to donate now. I just feel somethings going to happen. Obamas campaign is sleeping with a false sense of security, now is the time for the Puma to attack! Donate People! Call me crazy, but I say its never over till its over!

Obama pulls in Clinton supporters, leads McCain by 24 percent

Nearly all of Hillary Clinton’s former supporters now are backing Democrat Barack Obama, who holds a 24-point lead over Republican John McCain, according to a voter survey released today.

In February, 51.5 percent of voters in California’s Democratic primary chose Clinton, and 43.2 percent picked Obama.

Now, 80 percent of former Clinton voters prefer Obama, and 8 percent favor McCain, according to the poll.

I met McKinney twice and I have more respect for a cock roach eating my last cheerio! First to blame the Usa for 9/11….second, to call for impeaching Bush…I think its a better idea to applaud the death of Sadam Hussein, third to unabashedly blame the feds for Katrina and give that dipshit Mayor Nagin a pass and fourth to slap a cop…McKinney do us all a favor and fall off a cliff ASAP!

#175 webfoot on 07.16.08 at 3:41 pm

#93 ClintonRules – Well said. The Clintons are long standing Democrats and they support the party. And, as you said, more importantly they support Democracy. Sometimes on the blog PUMAs will comment that no call has been made from Hillary for us to stop what we are doing. In my opinion she has held true to her values. She has supported the Democratic party when she has made her speeches regarding Obama. And she has stayed true to her values and to the Democracy upon which our country is based by staying silent about the coalition of blogs supporting her. She is not going to try to silence our freedom of speech. I have admired her for years, bought her book “It Takes a Village,” and followed her career. My respect for her continues to grow.

#176 webfoot on 07.16.08 at 3:42 pm

#162 Bruce55555 – I wondered the same thing; I didn’t my daily prowls either.

#177 Kerri on 07.16.08 at 3:43 pm

Ok, sent my letter to Pelosi. I’ma post it here and ask for feedback. If this letter passes muster then I’ll change up the name and send it out to all we’re looking to mail. If I can locate a list, that is. We still mailing the SD’s or what?
Here it is, all criticism and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Subject: Put Hillary Clinton on the Ballot at the Convention

Speaker Pelosi,

Senator Clinton has not conceded her campaign. We now know the reasons for this. Her experience allowed her to understand that America requires a leader who has experience, knowledge, understanding, gumption and tenacity. America needs Senator Clinton to guide us on the road to recovery.

With every passing day, Senator Obama’s support dwindles. There is no hope that he can grow his base, especially since he has, in his desire to seem more moderate, proven that he is a typical politician. He promised America that he was a different candidate, that he would stand behind his words, come what may. That was a radical thing to do, somewhat foolish, most though, as we all know that the political person must leave themselves some wiggle-room. If they wish to successfully achieve their goals they must be willing to compromise on some issues. The problem is Obama told everyone his ways were different. He is viewed by a large faction of his once inspired voters to be dishonest. As a matter of fact, they feel bamboozled, duped, used and taken advantage of. Their position will not be swayed, as once a trust of that nature is broken the damage is irreperable.

I call your attention to two articles posted today.

http://savagepolitics.com/?p=899

An excerpt from this piece: <>>

And this article: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/obama_leads_bush_by_twenty_but_clinton_does_better_against_mccain

This is a report issued today which indicates that Obama has only a slight lead over Mccain. (As mentioned previously, that lead is tenuous as Obama has no way to grow whereas Mccain can garner new support through independent and undecided voters who are more inclined to vote for Mccain than Obama).

An excerpt from this report:<>>

As well as:<<>>

Finally, from the Ramussen Report issued this day of July15, 2008: <<>>

The facts are in, Ms. Pelosi. In order to gain a democratic president for the White House then we need to have Senator Clinton’s name on the ballot! America is in crisis and playing games with nominees is detrimental at efforts towards healing the hurts dealt during the past eight years of Bush administration.

I urge you to ensure that Senator Clinton’s name is on the ballot!

I am a PUMA democrat and assure you, that no matter how large our membership becomes, each and every one of us will not stop in our fight to bring the strongest candidate possible to the voting booths in November! Assist us now and let us get underway with the recovery process. Strong in our unity behind a leader who has proven that Americans can rely on her.

Thank you for your time and I expect your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Kerri *****

Demand a Roll Call Vote
The issue of what to do with Hillary Clinton at the convention next month is causing all sorts of hand wringing in Obamaland. The reason? In the words of Yogi Berra, it ain’t over until the fat lady sings. In this case, the fat lady is the 823 superdelegates who won’t “sing” until they vote during the roll call at the convention. In order to win the Democratic nomination for President, a candidate needs 2,118 delegates. Obama only has 1,766.5 pledged delegates, about 350 short of what he needs to clinch victory. Since superdelegates haven’t voted yet, Obama can’t be sure that he’ll have their support six weeks from now, especially while he continues to disappoint and enrage Democrats with his pandering to the right. With Newsweek delcaring a dead heat between Obama and McCain, and the Rasmussen Tracking Poll showing Obama ahead by only 2 points, and a CNN poll shows that 32% of all Clinton supporters won’t vote for president if Obama is the nominee (up from 22% a month ago), the Obama campaign is right to believe that superdelegates might not vote as expected if given the opportunity to do so in Denver. All this moved Clinton turncoat Taylor Marsh to go on a scolding rant against democracy, urging that Obama should make sure there is no roll call vote because that would highlight the fact that he hasn’t secured the nomination. Enough is enough. The only way to stop the superdelegates from showing their true colors in November is to make sure they never vote. Can they do this? Sure. It’s called suspending the rules and nominating by acclimation. FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY! Contact the chairs of the Rules Committee of the Democratic National Convention and tell them that you DEMAND a roll call vote, that you voted for delegates to the convention and you expect them to be heard, and you expect your superdelegates to go on record with their votes. And while you’re at it, contact Taylor Marsh and tell her you own your vote and you’re sick of her acting like you don’t know what you’re doing with it. I know what you mean. i was a college student during President Clinton’s second term. A group of friends and I took a road trip to Washington DC in 2000 for the Gay/lesbian march. The whole trip up from SC we averaged 80 cents a gallon for gas. That was wonderful for broke college students. I can’t imagine being 18 today and actually having the ability to do things like that economically. Like Hillary has said “what did you not like about the 1990s, the peace or the prosperity?”

#158 Ario,

Mckinney may actually be doing us a favor by running because some of those ultra liberal folk who are attracted to nobama might go for her since he is pissing them off. Also, some blck folk who are just voting for nobama because he is black may vote for her. This takes away a few votes from him which is fine with me, if it ends up being close it will make all the difference. That is , of course, if he wins the nomination.

I know nothing more about WMC than their mailing you posted here. But as soon as I read this – “It makes one wonder, again, about the makeup of the New Yorker staff–was it not diverse enough to elicit even a single protest?” – I rejected all of this. (And how tricky to include links to Ellen Goodman and the suntimes, as if these publications join in WMC’s call to demand a retraction from the New Yorker, while cleverly parsing this disclaimer amidst those links, where the reader might not be expected to put it together: “And take a look at what columnists Ellen Goodman… and Carol Marin… have said about WMC.” In other words, neither the Boston Globe nor the Chicago Sun-Times is joining WMC’s demands; but each has mentioned WMC, in the past.

I have become even more adept at parsing words, listening to BO.

Could you try not to be so brash? The people on here are very cool and very dedicated, and I never saw posts that were so aggressive as yours in all the time I have been on here. Attention all PUMAS!!

We did go through an acceptability meter when we began this group all those weeks ago, and what we agreed on was this: for anything you post or any reply that you make, assume that Hillary herself may be lurking and reading. If you comment would reflect poorly on the work we are doing or on Hillary’s image of us as a group, think twice.

We are all different people, with different temperments. disagreements will most certainly occur from time to time. when this happens, it’s best to not reply. You may email Murphy or Maryland with concerns and they can be dealt with off blog.

i’m absolutely not trying to ruffle any feathers, just wanted to step in with a few words.

Just called Senator Clinton’s Washington office – told the nice man who answered that I was a Puma Pac member and that we want Senator Clinton’s name in nomination and we want our votes to count. Told him to tell Senator Clinton that we have her back and will do whatever she needs done to get her the nomination. He said he would pass it along to her.

It’s obvious they know who we are and what we are trying to do – seemed happy to hear from me. Let’s keep it up – Obama will break up into 18 million cracks if we keep it up – he’s demonstrated he can’t stand the pressure and gets tired!!!

Wow! Missed alot being offline for a week, but I’m back. This may be redundant, but Donna B. on This Week with George S., dismissed us, again, with pleasure and condescension, and stated that “Hillary might be on the roll call, but I don’t know if that will happen.” She knows what’s going on. I am weary, but will soldier on. Missed you all. Great posts, Murphy!

Clinton Distances Herself From Anti-Obama Hillraiser

#239 ClintonRules on 07.16.08 at 4:54 pm

hahahaha :)

You have to read this, I was bored and I just kind of, well, decided to have some fun with the HOUNDS “debacle” we really didn’t have to mess with…

I titled this: “Bow wow wow…yippie yo yippie yay, where my dogs at? Good question…”

Here I am, STILL waiting for the HOUNDS to attack…I’m beginning to wonder if the HOUNDS are just scared little pups who piss themselves at the very thought of confrontation.

In nature, a Puma will more likely kill a Hound than the other way around…come on! HOUNDS? Are we being serious here?

I was more than ready to have a few dog fights. A few scraps with some real bad dogs…but alas, silence on the other side of the fence. The muzzle hangs on the gate but not a peep out of the pups…

Could it be? Could the HOUNDS fear the Big Dawg’s army of Big Cats?

Here I am, rolled up newspaper in one hand, leash in the other. I was actually looking forward to beating down the opposition with the daily misogyny and the untrue political section in my local newspaper…I was ecstatic to think I’d be dragging down a few flea infest mongrels and taking them for a walk down memory lane…but I’m beginning to fear I won’t have the chance?

Where are the hounds?

hahaha :)
omg…back to writing SDs ;)

before I take a small break, I’d like to post this too…I wrote it (surprise) last night:

I’m ignoring Donna Brazilla, Coward Dean and Nancy Peloser. Like it matters (to them)

They don’t need us, remember?

They’re doing so well (sarcasm):
-They’re raising so much money without us
-They’re extremely ahead in the polls without us
-They’re poised to win an easy election without us

Then again…they are idiots…to continue on in their claims that they dont need us, that we’re bitter and clutching at straws.

This is what I have to say about it:

Are we really clutching at straws?

The media says “yes” but we’re shouting “No!”

Isn’t it funny? Senator Clinton is STILL in the running for the nomination, she CAN STILL WIN, she’s STILL the MOST ELECTABLE.

Nobama is screwing his supporters left and right, blaming everyone else for his own shortcomings, losing support, and yet WE’RE THE ONES CLUTCHING AT STRAWS? I DON’T THINK SO!!

You Nobama supporters can argue with me all you want about this, but the fact of the matter, the absolute truth, the REAL reason we’re NOT SUPPORTING your LOSING CANDIDATE, THE COUNTERFEIT:

Senator Clinton DID win the POPULAR VOTE
Senator Clinton DID win the states Democrats HAVE to WIN

Senator Clinton DID win swing states! She CAN BEAT McCain!

If you were THAT terrified of having McCain in the White House, you’d start supporting the candidate who CAN BEAT HIM! You’re not Democrats! You’re just a bunch of scared Americans who cling to false hope and empty change.

You want a President who will tell you what to do so you don’t have to think anymore, who’s the uneducated supporter now?

You call us racist when we refuse to pledge our allegiance to the un united states of Obama? You call us bitter when we call him out on his mistakes? You cry FOUL when he doesn’t do well, who’s bitter now?!

If you’d really like to argue with me, I’ve ceased in my efforts to reason with you. I only speak to Clinton supporters now, I will however be willing to make exceptions for those of you who truly want a Democrat in the White House…and NO, Nobama is NOT a Democrat…no matter what anyone says. Have you seen his voting record? NO? That makes millions of us…because there isn’t a real one to look at.

If you really want to continue on in your mindless worship of this counterfeit, be my guest…I won’t go down with your sinking ship.

Okie dokie then…off to get some ice cream. Taking some flyers with me :)

CNN’s political ticker published my comment to the story “Two potential VPs join Obama” about the willingness of Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn to accept the VP spot on Obama’s ticket.

“I don’t think it’s the kind of thing you say no to…the answer to that is yes,” [Bayh] said in June. “If you care about serving your country, that is the kind of thing that you do.”

# 22 zephyr, I believe in the power of prayer and meditation. I believe that group prayer is quite powerful, as is a prayer you say alone. I will light my candle and to those who don’t have one, please light a virtual candle at:

Be sure to light them for the HRC group.
I am only on post 83 right now, I will catch up, but I wanted to share my spin on the prayer wheel:

Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
St. Mark 1:1 John the Baptist

I have been here, usually trying to catch up on the blog and do my daily growls, but I am here reading each and every one of your posts. I don’t usually post a lot like many of you, but I believe in our mission, and I believe Hillary will win the nomination, and I will be there in Denver to be witness to the most dramatic political event in women’s history!!!
I am sooo excited about Denver, my son and I are selling lemonade so that mom will have some money to eat on while there. He is a sweet kid and he knows much about politics at age 9, 10 in two months mom. He believes in Hillary, he says she cares about all people, and he is right.
I look forward to meeting those bloggers I have come to know, and I am excited to meet new friends with whom I have much in common.
I see where they want to fence us in like common animals, even my dogs aren’t fenced in! I am ashamed of my party, ashamed of the DNC, Howard, Nancy and Donna. I am ashamed to be called democrat, it used to mean something.

Enough of that, back to reading, Love you Murphy! And thanks for allowing me to get to Denver, to those of you who have contributed to the bus fund–God Bless You, your donation is why I will get to Denver and for that I am eternally grateful.

Obama’s ahead only by 6 percentage points in an average of popular polls?

He’s way below the Democratic “brand.”

Not to mention the fact that it’s only the middle of July, and this neophyte rhetorician-without-a-record is bait for multiple October surprises.

Obama fans, use up all the party favors in August at your celebration for his having sleazed off with the nomination that he did not earn and does not deserve.

No way he’s winning in November, if he even makes it that far.

#177 Kerri – Pelois Letter

Kerri, I don’t have time to give your letter the careful consideration it deserves, but I can make a few comments.

We’ve seen time and time again that Pelosi and the DNC don’t care about these arguments. They may be vitally important to us, but the DNC keeps brushing them aside.

If you have a chance, check my post #800 on the previous thread regarding someone else’s proposed letter to superdelegates. One thing I emphasized is focusing on what’s in it for them (superdelegates) to vote for Hillary at the convention.

Likewise, with your letter, you should focus on what’s in it for Pelosi to make sure Hillary is on the ballot. Give her a reason to read your letter and give it careful consideration, instead of just tossing it aside.

Thanks for lighting a candle and thanks for reading my post so far up the list. Wish I could go to Denver!! I believe conscious visualization, prayer and meditation are very effective. As Marianne Williamson says, we are more POWERFUL than we realize.

Like I was thinking the night before that it would be nice to have an ongoing update of what the outcome is of all our PUMA actions, what was happening with Hillary’s debt etc. and the very next morning Murphy posted something to that effect. In meditation I try to reach out to the SD’s to change their thinking on who they should vote for….maybe as effective as a letter?…or at least in combo with. We are all connected! Donated to HRC.

Good post!

A cult is easy to create with incessant advertising, mass media indoctrination and a pliant, eager-to-be-hip audience.

Senator Obama gives me the creeps. His “brand” with its quasi religious overtones is especially creepy and cultish. Images of him with a *$@#! halo – beyond creepy.

I so much prefer a separation of church and state.

Great link, thanks for posting.

I would like to see actions on most Hillary support sites combined for all so we don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Like all the reseach for delegate contact info shared with all. This way the background work doesn’t delay for other sites. I also like the way this site made different letters for each candidate. Can be copy and pasted easily, but I think Murphy’s emails doing it her way makes it silent until the time switch is pulled, then a huge blast. Totally cool, Murphy.

Jumping in and out here– Since some of you are sharing mantras and prayers–I found this one on the Native Americans Against Obama website:

CHEROKEE PRAYER BLESSING
May the warm winds of heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your mocassins
Make happy tracks
In many snows.
And may the rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.

———–I was browsing over there the other day, and it is a fairly new website–beautiful graphics. It was interesting to see specifically why Native Americans are distressed over Obama. I learned a few things that are relevant to the many nations. They also state they are part of PUMA.

Hood, TX, in front of 6,000 military families, to be broadcast on CBS. Carissa Picard, President of Military Spouses for Change, is managing the event, which she describes as giving the candidates an opportunity to meet these soldiers who have risked their lives for their country, and come home in many cases with physical and emotional injuries. She told FOX she invited both candidates to appear, but BO explained he would be unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts. She reported she offered him alternative dates but, so far, no response.

The host interviewed David Sarota, Author; and Tammy Bruce, FOX analyst, as to why BO is bowing out of town hall meetings with JMc. DS went first, essentially saying since he’s in the lead, he is taking a ‘Rose Garden’ approach to campaigning, that is, trying to look Presidential. Then came TB, who was fabulous. “We must remember… we may think he’s a front-runner, as your other guest suggested, but he doesn’t even have the delegates yet for the nomination. It is still the SD’s call at the convention. And one thing I think why he’s avoiding this is because, if there is a major problem in that environment, which he clearly seems to be afraid of; if he makes a major faux pas, you can have a floor vote in Denver that goes to Hillary Clinton. Unlike with JMc, who has the delegates for the nomination, BO doesn’t even have the Democratic nomination yet. (omitted) He’s in fact even leaving the country to avoid JMc. That is not the sign of a leader or a man who’s convinced of his own message.”

HRC agreed to meet with Richard Mellon Scaife, owner of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, who was instrumental in the impeachment against President Clinton. Afterward, Mr. Scaife endorsed her for President.

JMc addressed the NAACP.

But BO refuses to participate in a town hall with 6,000 military families.

To paraphrase my posting last night (or this morning), we are in his head. Keep up the good work.

Just stopped in for a second… I’m still at work but have been reading through the posts. I keep seeing many of you upset at the polls being quoted. But you might want to bookmark the daily gallup poll site.

http://www.gallup.com/tag/Gallup%2BDaily.aspx

Remember that the Obama camp is going to make sure that the MSM reports the most numbers that have the most appeal in his favor. But the gallup poll is still showing that he’s in a virtual tie when you account for margin of error. Look at the dates on the above link to make sure it’s the current date. Here’s a direct link to today’s poll:

The ClintonDems superdelegate only includes HRC supporters and undecideds. We’ve also been researching Obama delegates (those are the tough ones to find). From the research that I’ve done, at least a few of them could be motivated to switch.

When you slap the military and their families in the face, it is a major slap to all, IMO.
We owe these people so very much and to shun them just validates what we already know – he is a coward.
He is very full of himself but he also knows his limitations ( well some).
Guess his fear level kicks in.

#304 Firebelle Puma

Firebelle, you are true to your name! What gives me a sense of calm confidence is the fact that the pundit I quoted stressed quite vocally that BO is not the nominee. One of my biggest concerns with this mass migration away from ‘the cult of BO’ is that, once his disillusioned supporters begin to more closely examine this man they once would have moved mountains for, and realize all along he was no more than an empty suit; they might feel obliged to vote for him, anyway, not knowing his nomination is not a done deal. The more MSM who broadcast this fact, the more likely BO’s defectors will realize it’s not too late to choose another ‘winner,’ examine HRC’s record, and learn she was the best candidate in the race all along.

#311 Kerri on 07.16.08 at 7:12 pm

Firebell: Thank you for your comment. I DID read your comment from the other night. (It was the night before last, I believe?) And I totally agreed with it. That’s why I took my time and waited and waited to see if someone would come up with something, as you say, that might be motivating.
hmm. I tried to use the hope that these people might actually want a democratic president? Because it looks like Barracky boy isn’t going to cut it. I pulled two articles which were linked to here today…after having read them. It sort of seemed like Providence was working with me on getting my letter done.
I do have doubts that these people will click on those links. Yet they could always get the properties of said links and check them out themselves. I enclosed excerpts to entice and prod them into ensuring Hill’s name on the ballot.
I tried to be as motivational as possible. If getting a winning democratic candidate isn’t in these peoples’ interests then I don’t know what else I might argue.
To the rest of you who gave me comment, thank you. :) It means a lot. I hope to see some more letters from you guys and maybe I’ll find some inspiration for the next draft and new ideas.

#304 jbjd – Town Hall Debates

Thank you for your post. You gave me another outlet to make my voice heard. I sent the following email to Carissa Picard, President of Military Spouses for Change.

*******************

Dear Ms. Picard,

Someone on the PUMA PAC web site posted information about your attempts to get Senator Obama to agree to a town hall meeting with Senator McCain. I’m grateful for your efforts.

I, too, have been frustrated by Obama’s unwillingness to debate McCain. I’ve repeatedly written to the media and key lawmakers about it. But my voice has so little impact.

You, however, may be in a better position to make a difference. Therefore, I’m enclosing a copy of text I’ve used many times. Please feel free to borrow any of my talking points.

Good luck in all of your efforts. And bless your loved ones who are risking their lives and serving our country.

*******************

How many times during the primary season did Senator Obama say, “I welcome that debate with John McCain”? So why does he now do everything possible to avoid the weekly town hall meetings Senator McCain keeps asking for?

Here’s what Senator Obama’s actions say to me:

• Senator Obama is not a man of his word.

• Senator Obama does not respect voters who very much want to hear both candidates discuss the issues. Nor does he respect leaders in other countries who also want to hear both candidates discuss the issues.

• Senator Obama is not a man who can or will reach across the aisle as he has repeatedly promised to do. If he intended to reach across the aisle, he’d be doing it now every chance he could.

• Senator Obama is afraid that Senator McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his rhetoric.

• Senator Obama isn’t confident enough about the issues to speak without a teleprompter or the scripted words of his speech writers.

• Senator Obama doesn’t believe in transparency in government.

• If Senator Obama were to become President, he would repeatedly shy away from difficult discussions and uncomfortable topics. So, too, would he avoid talking with other world leaders unless they fall in line behind everything Senator Obama says.

On policy issues, I’m more closely aligned with Democrats than I am with Republicans. But I cannot in good conscience vote for a man of such bad character. In November, I will vote against Senator Obama.

#324 Kerri on 07.16.08 at 7:28 pm

LOL Yes, MSbin…exactly the truth. I figured a report, reports are supposed to be unbiased foundings based on facts, right?–might be source worthy material to help nudge the worm of worry that has GOT to be eating at the delegates who actually DO want a democratic win.
Honestly, I donno what’s up with the Obama drama thing. I’ve mentioned before that the only ones benefitting from it are the republicans. Seems like another rabbit-out-of-the-hat by them to steal another presidential election, if you ask me. Guess that would mean that whoever’s in charge over at the DNC sold out to the GOP then, right?
While it is all speculation, the fact remains…HRC, at all times, despite the media-slant towards Obama and the more than a decade of HRC trashing, depsite being hugely under-financed comparatively, despite the supposed horribly run campaign, etc…at all times she was ALWAYS favored to beat Mccain in November. While Obama usually came out the loser in those scenarios. So…yeah, it’s got me stumped too. I hope, to the SD’s that I send the letter to, that they ask that question of themselves and their colleagues.

#325 tillerylakelady on 07.16.08 at 7:28 pm

#70 antifish That was a great video OMG It’s true History really does repeat it’s self. I never new that the DNC did Franklin D. Roosevelt the same way they did Hillary. The telegram that he sent his supporters at the convention was AWSOME!!! I felt so so so Humbled. Thank you for that piece of History.

#326 Firebelle Puma on 07.16.08 at 7:33 pm

#311 Kerri

You’re welcome. Sorry I couldn’t devote more time to making suggestions.

By the way, check my post #321 above. That may give you other ideas.

Typically, I stay away from sexism, disenfranchisement, and related issues, because the NDC has made it clear that they don’t care. They know it will cost them votes, but they aren’t motivated to do anything different. So instead of looking backward, I look forward. What losses and screw-ups do we have to look forward to if we don’t change course? The DNC doesn’t fear the past. We must make them fear the future.

“If you make a donation in any amount before midnight on July 31st, you could be selected to travel to Denver for the last two days of the convention, including the final event — Barack’s acceptance of the Democratic nomination for President before 75,000 people.

Ten supporters will be selected from all over the country, and each will be able to bring one guest. We’ll provide airfare, accommodations, and two days of convention activities — including a private meeting with Barack before his historic speech. ”

I think THIS IS ILLEGAL ALSO! because it doesn’t say you can participate without sending money!

Loved your post to the Town Hall organizer, Firebell. Very well done, especially loved Obama does not believe in transparent governement and will not work with anyone who will not fall in line behind him.
This last part, seems to be the MAIN issue people in the know are starting to coaelesce around now. Obama’s big head. (figuratively, ego) How on earth are you going to lead the USA if you can’t get over your own megolomania? So what—we go from a virtual imbecile to a self-preening minah bird? “Change, Change, follow ME, everyone! Follow me, Change, change…”
S’absolutely ludicrous.
I focused my letter to point out that Obama’s base can not grow and is indeed, shrinking. Whereas Mccain’s base can grow exponentially IF BO becomes the elected nominee, on account of all the undecideds, independents and ever-growing disillusioned. I worked the fear factor…basically, no Clinton, no White House. ;)

Pumas……The article in the New Yorker states that Hugh Hefner’s political action group gave Obama contacts in New York and Los Angles. I had always wondered before reading that why The New York Times was so against Hillary in her own state. The Los Angles Times is also very pro Obama in a state Hillary easily won. Now the article in Salon.com claims Obama is using corporate tactics to be able to tell where you live and even when you answer your e-mail, in short your online activity. Barak Obama could only get that kind of informaion from a large media conglomerate. Not very corrupt are we?

Hello again Pumas ! I totally agree with the title of today’s post : “the unlamented death of the US citizen.”
I’ve just re-read some speeches made by Obama during the primaries. That really sounds ridiculous for a normal person. I still don’t understand how so many people came to believe such stupid things ! Remember ? If you don’t, here are some striking examples :
- “I’m asking you all to walk with me and march with me and pray with me. Because I believe if we can love one another just a little bit the way God loves each of us, we can reach a more united America. (…) You will experience an epiphany.” (Macon, Georgia)
- “And you will suddenly realize you must go to the polls and vote for Barack.”(Darmouth College, New Hampshire)
- “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change we seek(Super Tuesday quote).
And then, people became hysterical, cried, even fainted ! He is a genius ! CNN was enthusiastic ! (I’ve stopped watching them) What a great man ! What a genius ! How have we been able to live without him for so long ? HE is the REVELATION !

All the ingredients of a cult are to be found in this candidacy. I wonder how such a developed country, such a democracy, such well-informed citizens, came to be so easily deceived, manipulated.
I’ve reached the conclusion that your country must be facing a terrible crisis (crisis of identity, economic crisis, international crisis), the same sort of “crisis of confidence” Jimmy Carter spoke about in 1979, when people had lost confidence in the world of Washington, when they did not trust the Establishment, when they could not afford to take their cars because of the gasoline prices. (I’m struck by the similitudes with today).
Obama has been cunning enough to understand he could make people believe he was different, he could redeem the country, whereas he is not : he is worse than the others ! America, I’m worried for you ! Pumas, you are our only hope !

delphine, actually I think he is a master at brainwashing. I’ve said that before. Have you checked out his website for kids 12 and under? Then he targets our young people and talks of forming a homeland militia as strong as our army. Guess who will be in that group? He doesn’t say usually that he’s running for POTUS..it’s just America. He messed with the presidential seal..planted a seed. His newest slogan is Judgement to Lead..now turn that around! Add that the nation is going digital about 2 weeks after the inauguration so tv can be govt. controlled easily, the bill Bush got passed where the president can declare martial law and basically shut down the country, it gets really scary! Watch his tactics…he puts things out there. If it works, he takes credit right away. If it doesn’t he leaves a loophole to see how things sit. An example is using Invesco Field. He put it out there, let it sit, and now it’s pretty much a done deal. He tried with the Germany trip but backed off. Notice he still left the door open though. Just little things but they add up!

Hi Delphine! Good to hear from you again. I’m so glad to read your post today because you have highlighted the very moment that I became afraid of Barack Obama. That “you’ll have an epiphany” speech is what really caught my attention and made me realize that this guy was not dealing with a full deck of cards.

I hope you understand this is an American saying which means, he is a bit delusional and very dangerous. I knew full well we were in trouble the day he made that speech. It told me without doubt that his candidacy is not about America, it is not about solving the very challenging problems we now face, it is about him, the idol, Barack Obama. He could care less about the rest of us.

The Puma Pac Action Center is down right now. My webhost is telling me that their servers have experienced a power outage and that service should be restored as soon as possible.

He’s not qualified. He can’t speak before a group without his teleprompter and a script written by someone else. “Um, ah, um, ah” doesn’t cut it before the folks at Trinity Church.

#185 pamawo……You still have three feet left, why don’t we start off again on one of them. Welcome. We do try to be good to each other and most of the time anything else is just a misunderstanding.

I can email you with my letter if you want to give your email on here, or we can go through Murphy

I did email this letter to 101 newspapers in Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Montana, and some Minnesota over the weekend and had calls or replies from several.

I try to update my database and email or fax every week.

I’ll be leaving very early in the a.m. to catch a plane, but will check back here later tonight. Please let me know how you want me to reach you. :)

#377 murphy on 07.16.08 at 8:28 pm

Hey folks — great work with the letter writing. Let’s keep the pressure on.

New thread posted.

Take it upstairs!

Delphine from france,

I’m sorry, you may have said already, but I was wondering if you are in Paris? I was born in Marie de Neuilly sur Seine (I probably misspelled that). Just wondering.

#379 Taffy on 07.16.08 at 8:29 pm

So now it’s getting to where our president doesn’t have to be accountable to anyone ? Daangerous precident if this is allowed to happen!

Hello again antifish ! I’m afraid your fear is justified. I know what it means to have a president who only cares about himself. The president of your native country is gradually destroying all the French social services we were so proud of. Poorest people have never been in such a need. He is only interested in money, fame, success. He is self-centered, scornful, and arrogant. Exactly like BO ! But you’re lucky : this is the kind of disaster you can still avoid. Here, it is already too late !

Now I’ve just watched the video recommended by roxy4hill2 : I couldn’t believe my eyes ! I couldn’t believe my ears ! Isn’t there anything American women can do to stop this ?

#381 Taffy on 07.16.08 at 8:33 pm

delphine anti is upstairs waiting for you :D

#382 delphinefromfrance on 07.16.08 at 8:38 pm

antifish, I don’t live in Paris. I live in Lyon, which is as you probably know, the second most important French city. And I’m just realizing it’s a pity I’m not in Paris because I could have gone to see BO on the 25th of July, when he comes to France. I could have greeted him with a PUMA tee-shirt, and a sign : Hillary ‘08 !

Good Evening All— OUt all day and distributed more flyers…

Spun the prayer wheel and got this:

To the divine silence of unreachable endlessness;
To the divine silence of perfected knowledge;
To the divine silence of the soundless voice;
To the divine silence of the Heart of the Labyrinth;
To the divine silence of the ancient mind;
To the divine silence of the unborn guide;
To the divine silence of the unseen guide,
protector of all sentient life;
To the divine silence of those of perfected knowledge;
To the divine silence of human primate incarnation;
To the divine silence of the labyrinth guides
who sacrifice their liberation for those
who have not yet awakened to the truth;
To the divine silence of the Lord of Death,
the eternal unborn resident of the labyrinth
who has sacrificed his own redemption
for the redemption of all voyagers everywhere;
To the divine silence of the primordial being;
To the divine silence of the great sacrifice;
We offer homage, love and hope;
But above all, we give our gratitude.

I think THIS IS ILLEGAL ALSO! because it doesn’t say you can participate without sending money!

I’m going to be changing to a Yahoo email asap, but I wanted to let you know about a message I received last hight, which I can’t seem to find, but there is a Trojan Horse going the rounds, like the Storm Worm a few years back, I have multiple spyware programs on my computer, all the same I just received a letter addressed to 2Witchy about winning a lotto in the Netherlands from LOTTO NL. If you get one please immediately delete it and run a scan. This is reliable information, it’s also posted on my home account site. So Murphy, by morning I’ll probably have to reset my name and password… D**n!

In regard to the formation of Cults and the Obama movement. Log on to the website of Democracy For America. This is the side grassroots group that grew out of Howard Dean’s defeat in 2004. The structure was there led by Joe Trippi and others. A list of emails and grassroots members existed. Remember if it wasn’t for the SCREAM howard Dean might have gone someplace in the election. When he bombed out Joe Trippi and Howard Dean realized they were on to something. Before it faded away Dean got control of the DNC and on the side developed DFA(democracy for america). Check it out carefully. It is a cult. It provides everything and there is a hidden Charismatic leader(Dean)n and a straw man leader OBama picked by Dean and others financed by Wall Street(hedge funds do not want Hillary) and protected by racial issues. The cult is Democracy for America linked to the DNC. It is so obvious. And in case you don’t see it read “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” written by Joe Trippi after the Dean fiasco. It’s on Amazon cheap but very informative. You will see how the Cult began. Follow the money- most is not from the little donors but from the big donors. Obama had 99,000,000.00 before the primaries began-Do you think it was from small donors?
