A note to maniacs who make death threats: They don’t work. They harden the opposition to your cause because they expose your true nature as a homicidal bully. They also rally the support of the vast majority of decent people who are outraged by the tactic. You turn your target into a hero, and if you succeed in either murdering or inciting the murder of your victim, you turn her or him into a martyr. Not the best plan.
I’m a grown woman and I’m not afraid of bullies — never have been, never will be. But I do have children, and anyone who has lost their mother at a young age understands the profound and long-lasting grief that flows from that. Anyone who threatens me or any of the the other women in this movement with death for expressing our political views peacefully and lawfully will fail at frightening me — but he will succeed at terrorizing innocent children. And THAT makes me angry.
Senator Obama’s supporters asked Hillary Clinton to publicly distance herself from a long-time Hillraiser fundraiser and loyal supporter, Ricki Lieberman, who is working day and night to save our party from a landslide loss in November by highlighting the weaknesses of Obama the candidate. Senator Clinton promptly complied.
Perhaps we should ask Senator Obama to “distance” himself from his supporters who are threatening women who oppose him with death? What do YOU think HIS response will be?

It is awful that anyone would be making death threats.
I want to repeat, though (I mentioned this in an earlier thread in more detail), that I am glad that Hillary is not openly supporting us. It sounds from the link that she distanced herself as gently as she could. The important thing is that it has to be clear that we are acting independently of her. This makes our grass roots message much more powerful to both media and super delegates. So lets keep up the hard work, and not worry about what Hillary has to say.
Murphy, thank you so much for all that you do, and for standing up so publicly for us, even though it is putting you at risk. We all owe you a great debt.

I’ve taught American politics to French students for years, but tonight I’m afraid I’m lost : will somebody explain to me, please, the distinction that is made between : “her name on the ballot ?” and “roll call vote” ? Will her name appear or not, and if it does, why should delegates not be allowed to vote for her ?

I called and talked to the DNC a guy by the name of Tony (have talked to him before as I believe have others). I discussed alot with him in a respectful, firm, fact based conversation….which he did seem somewhat interested in…with so many calls I believe they are all in “shut down mode (and mood).
But I was able to confirm again as much as can believe them that there will be a roll call, her name along with others (he mentioned Edwards cause his campaign is suspended also) names will be on the ballot, they will be allowed to make a speech, and ppl will be allowed to vote as they chose without being pressured on how they have to vote or can change their original vote. Now the last part I do not believe that to be because of all that has happened and is out there about this – but he then stated that the candidate that is on the ballot has to “want” to be on it and can refuse it.
I asked him is it correct that Sen Clinton has suspended her campaign….he said yes

I asked him has Sen Clinton asked for her name to not be put on the ballot…..he said not that he is aware of.
SO for whatever it is worth which I take with a grain of salt – I have a feeling that there is going to be some same of “pony poop” that will happen leading up to the convention and at it….JMO
But that does NOT mean that I am going to roll over and play with some “catnip” not at all.

funny story about my name: when i was born my name was spelled MARK but when i was learning to write my name I couldn never write my K’s so my dad (who is very impatient AND a Clinton supporter) went through all the trouble of getting my name changed…and then 3 weeks after all that, I could write K’s!

I just wesnt back to blogtalkradio and I can hear the replay just fine so the server must have been full. Now I have to clear up my disabled account with them and I’ll be back in business.
It has been so many days since I’ve been able to post and touch base. I am currently at a week long sales meeting where I’m lucky to have an average of less than an hour to catch up on much of anything. And I am constantly getting knocked off line at this bloody hotel! I feel so guilty not having been able to do any thing such as the daily growls… I will be home soon and I can’t wait to get back into action.
At least where finally tonight while chatting with a couple of co-workers, where one is from WV. She states her family are devout democrats and all are distraught from the outcome and have all resigned to simply vote rebublican. However, I did sense that this was from a feeling of helplessness. My hope is that from my conversation with her her is to help provide them with a new sense of empowerement and what PUMA PAC is set out to accomplish. Another stated “I will vote opposite whatever my husband votes for.” (her husband is republican). After a bit of a chat the first requests for me to forward the info on PUMA PAC. The other, well, she’s a good friend, I will chat more with her later. I felt frustrated by her reason as to how she would choose as it was not based on sound information. However, I did suggest to both to please take the time to get themselves sufficiently and accurately informed before making their final voting decision.
For so long, it has always torn me how so many go to the voting booth to cast their vote on the most inane and ludicrous reasons. It seems that so often so many just really don’t pay attention. I could never understand why…
At least tonight I feel I was able to accomplish something by providing to hopefully an entire family that felt lost. When I provided information that I aquired mainly through here on the DNC’s actions and what we have been doing their eyes just opened right up. Maybe they could sense the passion that I have. However, it is so good to have this resource to help lead all of us in the most effective and positive actions and efforts along with having the resources for the best information that is available.

Went out this afternoon… fella is buying a car and had to go to post office… left fliers in the room where the boxes are and on the table there. Put some in the WAWA (convenience store) in the Auto section. Grocery carts when going grocery shopping… and at the dealership got to talk to the salesman and woman who is doing the credit for my guy… she was hopping mad and I hope to see her here on this blog…
She said she wasn’t going to vote this primary and I told her that by doing so she was giving Obama the edge… She definitely does not like the Precious one and was very vocal about it.
The salesman took a flyer and was amused. I told him it was no longer about just Obama but about democracy itself and about every vote counting. He was very receptive.
I also b4 i went out sent my email to Pelosi and changed my email addie on my account… Busy Barb’ie PUMA today… and proud of it!!!!!

The issue of what to do with Hillary Clinton at the convention next month is causing all sorts of hand wringing in Obamaland. The reason? In the words of Yogi Berra, it ain’t over until the fat lady sings. In this case, the fat lady is the 823 superdelegates who won’t “sing” until they vote during the roll call at the convention. In order to win the Democratic nomination for President, a candidate needs 2,118 delegates. Obama only has 1,766.5 pledged delegates, about 350 short of what he needs to clinch victory. Since superdelegates haven’t voted yet, Obama can’t be sure that he’ll have their support six weeks from now, especially while he continues to disappoint and enrage Democrats with his pandering to the right. With Newsweek delcaring a dead heat between Obama and McCain, and the Rasmussen Tracking Poll showing Obama ahead by only 2 points, and a CNN poll shows that 32% of all Clinton supporters won’t vote for president if Obama is the nominee (up from 22% a month ago), the Obama campaign is right to believe that superdelegates might not vote as expected if given the opportunity to do so in Denver. All this moved Clinton turncoat Taylor Marsh to go on a scolding rant against democracy, urging that Obama should make sure there is no roll call vote because that would highlight the fact that he hasn’t secured the nomination. Enough is enough. The only way to stop the superdelegates from showing their true colors in November is to make sure they never vote. Can they do this? Sure. It’s called suspending the rules and nominating by acclimation. FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY! I’d like to get thoughts from Murphy on this idea to find out if and who we should target for reporting. IOW — do we target local police stations or FBI or some other office? I’m not sure where to start and personally haven’t received one of these emails (not on the mailing list) — but I’d certainly be willing to sign onto his site to get one of these emails if I had a shot at getting him seriously in trouble with the law. I don’t mean illegal money. It was the tech savy people he had that wanted to promote him. That is how he brought young people into the campaign so quickly, because they are all on the internet 24/7! They joke that educated people support him, college kids are on the internet 24/7. Starbucks drinkers- boom, they have free hotspots for computers, 24/7. (I am pushing the thought here)
Hillary’s army was not aware of this ‘underground’ network until near the end of the campaign. Now we have all stumbled upon sites like this one, our numbers are going and our money is flowing to help Hillary.
They see their money drying up, their blogs are drying up and our recognition is starting to get into mainstream media.

I really can’t say what it was about *61 that I liked. I thought we needed change, and we do…just not his kind of change. Hillary isn’t the same old politics, I firmly believe she chose now (of all times) to run because a greater good is overseeing this entire event.
She was sent here to save this country at one of its weakest times…and she will.

I like so many had blood line family members who have died fighting not only for our right to free speech but for all our freedoms we have today. Are threats the way we are to say Thank you to all the brave women and men who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for those of us who take these freedoms for granted. We should not have to be afraid for our children or loved ones simply because we disagree with someone and practice our freedom to express those differences. I was called a racist the other day because I stated I supported Hillary. When I asked why they thought that they said because I was not supporting Obama because he is Black. No further explanation. It devastated me. In St. Louis in a bar called Mothers where a group of us hung out they still have our banner hanging on their wall that had our company name and We Are Family printed on it. My partner and I and our friend and his sister were the only white people ever to have that honor. So I am not a racist. We must continue to strive toward our Unity for the party. The unity that will only come when Hillary Clinton is our nominee.

Please keep in mind that Katie Couric of CBS spoke out about the incredible sexist treatment of Hillary Clinton. She was sort of side-lined and ridiculed for coming out with those comments. I got the feeling that she was really going against the grain for making those comment and media people were shocked. How could someone in the “mainstream” be so “foolish” to speak out about sexism towards in the primary news coverage? Didn’t she’d know she’d be targeted, marginalized and ridiculed for doing so? The story died. No one picked up on it.
So, I don’t think Katie is all that sympathetic to Barack, although she’s probably be instructed to be a positive spin on the media’s darling wonder boy.

I’m convinced BO is a psychopath. Most psychopaths look like ordinary people, not the weirdos Hollywood loves. That’s what makes them so dangerous.
The following is my opinion, not fact, my unprofessional observations:
He has three character traits that make me believe this. First, he’s a narcissist. It’s all about him. He has a thin skin and sees everything through his prism. (The Supreme Court agreed with his view of the DC handgun ban? Ohhh – kaaaayyy.)
Second, he has no conscience. How many loving friends and relatives has he thrown under his double-wide, double-decker Blunderbuss? How many loyal aides and supporters? Without blinking an eye?
Third, he has no emotional core. This goes beyond not standing for anything. He can’t understand other people’s emotions. Look how he’s dismissed Hillary’s passionate supporters. Why? He doesn’t get it. He can’t understand why we are emotionally attached to Hillary’s campaign, disgusted by the DNC’s faux primary, and saddened that our party left us after years of dedication and loyalty. This doesn’t make sense to him, especially since he believes his own press.
Look how confused he was about turning on the netroots. Again, he didn’t understand why they felt hurt and betrayed. He actually said he was confused. In his view, why would netroots nation get upset because he cravenly veered to the right? From a dispassionate point of view, he may be right (although, I don’t believe that). But, his confusion speaks volumes about his lack of emotional intelligence.
Finally, he seems to lack a core. He doesn’t hold passionate beliefs because he can’t feel passionately about anything. Psychopaths are cool and detached. They can have great political instincts because they are master manipulators and don’t feel guilty. Their actions are expedient with respect to their goals (money, power, status). Since they can’t feel deep emotions, their policy positions are opportunistic and shallow. And, obviously, open to change with the winds.
His lacking an emotional core, in my view, is also the reason he has no sense of humor. To be effective, humor must resonate at an emotional level. Lacking the capacity to feel, he can’t find the humor in anything. His self-deprecating comments are meant to be ingratiating and manipulative. You laugh but he doesn’t.
One reason why I think everybody needs to take these threats seriously is that you just don’t know what these people may be capable of.

I also think the DNC and supers and any other Democrat with an interest in winning the 2008 presidential election should be made aware that EVERYDAY they continue to trot out the “Great Imposter, Barck Obama” as the inevitable Democratic Presidential Nominee, is another day they diminish their chances of ever achieving that goal and make it all that more likely John McCain will win.
John McCain gave a speech today to the NAACP. I saw the speech from beginning to end and it was eloquent, heart-felt and deeply sincere, especially when he brought up the Civil Right’s movement, Martin Luther King and John Lewis. I had tears in my eyes as I was listening to it.
I’ve been a hard-core Democrat my whole life. I never in a million years would have believed it was possible for me to NOT support wholeheartedly a Democratic candidate, let alone be rooting FOR a Republican, but when I hear John McCain speak, all those feelings go right out the window. I’m sure I’m not the only one. So, the longer the only option Democrats have is the one Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, et al, have given us, the more assured it is that lots of other Democrats are going to be sauntering over to John McCain’s side of the fence, maybe never to return, no matter who gets the ultimate nomination in Denver.

I totally agree with this observation. I too, find myself really liking McCain and gaining more and more respect with him each time I hear him speak. I have to confess that as much as I want Hillary to be our President — I almost feel sorry for McCain if she does become the nominee because I think he’s a good man too. Something that has always bothered me about the MSM was the lack of reporting on the death threats made to black superdelegates who did not come out early in support of Obama …there was absolutely no follow-up …to my knowledge anyway. That PUMAS and other prominent members of the broad coalition are receiving threats are bad enough, and warrants serious surveillance but maybe it is time to investigate what the superdelegates may be hearing as well…if that is at all possible.

I feel the same way. I do wish the Democrats would fix the mess they made FAST! Because no matter how much I want Hillary, the longer this goes on the angrier I get and the more I find myself liking John McCain. My loyalty may be to Hillary, but it is NOT to the Democratic Party. As much as I want HILLARY, I do NOT want the Democratic Party – not until they’ve cleaned up their act and then, even then, there’s no guarantee I could ever TRUST them again.
So, while this might seem a bit absurd, given the state of affairs, not only do the Democrats have to put Hillary on the ballot and NOMINATE her to get my vote, I’d still not be completely satisfied unless they got rid of Dean, Pelosi, Reid, etc., and PUBLICLY APOLOGIZED to the AMERICAN people for trying to RIG and election and rob us of our rights to elect a legitimate candidate!
And in the meantime, I really don’t like this feeling of picking someone who’s done so much for his country and shown such stamina and decency in the election cycle as my back-up “date” so to speak.

The Vietnam and Iraq and Afganistan vets I know do see any humor in this and are justifiably upset. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a talk with another friend who feels the same as I do… and how many times we’ve compared notes of things the FOX pundits have said when doing their spin… but mostly… how many times we’ve said things to each other like, “I can’t believe that I find myself agreeing with what the Republicans have to say more than the Democrats… how messed up is that? Re: the anchor people accompanying Obama on his European tour–This is their glamour shot. It’s all about ratings and they know there is going to be a tremendous amount of foreign press and the crazy crowds. Whenever there is a big story abroad, the media sends out their big names. The rage I feel about this is so huge–they seem to have already proclaimed this man the winner and are traveling in the glow of the halo (from the picture above.)
Sometimes I feel like this is a scene from one of those movies where the city is totally deserted and there’s only a few sane people walking around wondering what happened. Just like on March 19, 2003 when Bush sent our troops into Iraq, I knew in my gut it was so abominably wrong, and I felt helpless. This man’s glorification feels exactly the same way to me. I used to think (at first) that he was just being premature–that he needed to grow and gain the necessary political experience. My hope was that someone would take him aside and caution him to wait for “his time.”
Obviously, he has been draped and surrounded by sycophants who have convinced him his time is now. Now—I don’t see even a pittance of worth in his ability to lead our country–and I just can’t believe what I witness each day as they fawn over him more and more.

Ugh. The “guests” on FOX Hannity and Colmes essentially said the reason people wouldn’t vote for BO is because they are racists. I agree with you on this also. I was horrified at what the Republicans did in 2000. I still see those visual images in my mind of those screaming, thumping mobs of Republicans pressed against the glass doors of a room where butterfly ballots, etc., were being recounted, trying to intimidate elections officials and succeeding….I never thought in a million years the Democrats would be doing the same kind of things just 2 short election cycles later! I thought it was wrong when the Republicans did it in 2000. And I think it’s wrong in 2008 when the Democrats did it and continue to do it….
What it says to me is the Republicans have learned their lesson. After 8 years of Bush they’ve realized that nothing good comes out of rigging an election. Victory is short and not very sweet.
The Democrat leadership, being the slow learners that they are, have not learned this lesson. Instead of coming up with a sensible strategy for WINNING, like putting forward their best and strongest candidate, for example, have rigged an election and picked the weakest, least qualified, stupidest candidate they could find. They figured they couldn’t beat the Republicans fair and square so they’d cheat! Instead of really giving us CHANGE, they changed the “new” Democratic Party into the OLD Republican Party, complete with all the dirtiest, sleasiest, most infamous slimy Republican tricks of yesteryear.

Don’t worry about the polls. You can find one for any position you want. They basically mean nothing at this point. The only one I like is the AOL straw poll.
#386…If he got a bump, where is it? The polls do have BO ahead, but not by much…A few points only. Many supporters are upset with him and his flip flops, his fundraising is down, and there are PUMAs. I got very disheartened lastnight about the polls, but I got a PUMA help that put it in perspective.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your last post… I had to do some chores. But I would like to say one more thing (before I go to bed) about that article I posted. I’ve heard others on the TV mention the great things that the McCain’s have done for less fortunate people, but they also always mention that the McCain’s don’t like to talk about it. So what I find totally amazing about knowing that information from that article is that the McCain’s have enough character to not use that information for their personal gain to the White House. You know damn well, that if Obama could manipulate that kind of information about himself for personal gain… he would be using it in FULL force. I admire the McCain’s even more that they don’t talk about it publicly. It speaks even more volumes about them.
And I’ve said this before too — while I don’t agree with all of McCain’s beliefs — I will sleep infinitely better at night knowing McCain is in the White House then I will if Obama was elected. I don’t even want to think about the latter. We HAVE to make sure that it never happens.

Senior citizens need to have access to PUMA. Great point!
Senior women are very supportive of Hillary. In the retirement communities they all watch LOTS of mainstream media. We need to get in there and ask them to help us with this. They know the history and the love Hillary and I would think be extremely motivated to make a difference in this election.
Put flyers in retirement communities. Another idea is to string together the best pro Hillary videos out there and give away CD’s.
Another case in which BO is trying to steal plans from HRC while flip-flopping his own position. This article clearly discusses why it was a flip-flop and not “mis-spoken”. I cut part of it off for length.

Senator Obama, in his speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, said, “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.” The next day, an unnamed adviser tried to “clarify” the statement to suggest it left room for Palestinian sovereignty.
On Sunday in a CNN interview, Fareed Zakaria questioned Mr. Obama about his AIPAC speech supporting Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel. Mr. Zakaria asked him, “why not support the Clinton plan, which envisions a divided Jerusalem.”
Mr. Obama responded, “the truth is that this was an example where we had some poor phrasing in the speech” and a reminder of the need to be “careful in terms of our syntax.” He said his point had been “simply” that “we don’t want barbed wire running through Jerusalem, similar to the way it was prior to the ‘67 war. … I think the Clinton formulation provides a starting point for discussions between the parties.”
Mr. Obama’s new endorsement of the Clinton plan as the “starting point” for negotiations involves much more than a problem in phrasing. He has converted his commitment at AIPAC to an “undivided” Jerusalem into support for the city’s redivision.
There are at least three reasons why one can conclude that Mr. Obama’s turn-around on his position on an “undivided” Jerusalem did not result from “poor phrasing” or careless “syntax” or confusion about a “code word.” First, the unambiguous commitment in his AIPAC speech — “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided” — came at the end of a paragraph beginning “Let me be clear.” The speech was an important address to a crucial group, intended to convey solidarity on an issue of central concern to the group — which undoubtedly accounted for the thunderous standing ovation it received. It was neither an off-the-cuff remark nor a minor part of the speech.
Second, it was not the first time he said it. In January, the American Jewish Committee distributed to all presidential candidates an Election Questionaire and posted the responses on its Web site, without editing them. One of the questions was “How do you see the likely final status of Jerusalem?” Mr. Obama’s answer was “Jerusalem will remain Israel’s capital, and no one should want or expect it to be re-divided.” The answer was as unambiguous as the one he gave 7,000 people at AIPAC five months later.
Third, he addressed the issue in 2000 in a position paper on Israel as part of his unsuccessful congressional campaign that year. In that paper, he stated, “Jerusalem should remain united and should be recognized as Israel’s capital.”
When he appeared before AIPAC in June and said “Let me be clear … [Jerusalem] must remain undivided,” Mr. Obama was expressing a view he had formally taken, in writing, on at least two prior occasions, over an eight-year period.

Hello I am Sugar from PA on the death threat list. About three weeks ago I recieved a death threat and a few minutes not sure of the lenght of time but not long. My son came running in and told me my tree was on fire. We had to call the fire department and they told me it was arson.

Dances with Pumas: I know of another woman, a long-time Hillary supporter and colleague on human rights (and a Georgetown Professor), Allida Black, who was one of the WomenCountPAC founders. I was told by a close friend of hers that she had to get security for her offices, because she had been accused of racism and threatened. That is not directly from her, so it would have to be confirmed, but it is only one step removed, if someone wants to contact her for verification.

I have a theory as to why they are pushing the least qualified candidate. My theory is this: I think Pelosi, Dean, and Reid are under the misguided impression that if someone unqualified and inexperienced (such as Obama) is in the office, then Obama will need to lean on Pelosi and Dean heavily. So with this in mind, Pelosi and Dean probably think they will have infinitely more power with Obama in the office. They certainly wouldn’t be powerful with Clinton in the office.. she’s too strong and knowledgeable.
But the irony of all this is that Obama has plans of his own with that power… and I’m sure he’s just using Pelosi and Dean as pawns to get him where he wants to be. They don’t even see the writing on the wall when they are out of the loop on the Invesco planning. They didn’t know about it until the press did. So the irony is — they would probably have NO power at all while Obama yields his tyranny over us all. I even suspect he has plans of dismantling this Democratic country to the point that he will be a dictator and there will never be a choice again to elect anyone else to replace him.
I believe that’s why he’s trying to get FISA in place. Keep in mind, that the Democrats were against FISA until Obama came along… now all of a sudden it passed by a majority of Democrats? He’s got something on them all and is forcing this so he can set the stage to dismantle this country one chip at a time. He scares the crap out of me.

No one in their right mind would support someone with these qualities, especially for the highest office in our nation.

Look at it. The senate , as I understand it, wrote bills then gave them to “O’ to place in session. Added his name as co-sponsor to bills he had nothing to do with. And this has been going on long before the primary.
Why?

All this moved Clinton turncoat Taylor Marsh to go on a scolding rant against democracy, urging that Obama should make sure there is no roll call vote because that would highlight the fact that he hasn’t secured the nomination. Enough is enough. The only way to stop the superdelegates from showing their true colors in November is to make sure they never vote. Can they do this? Sure. It’s called suspending the rules and nominating by acclimation. FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY! I think you’re right on the mark about all this. Right now the executive branch has become very powerful, more so than it’s ever been, due to Bush and Cheney. I agree Dean, Pelosi, even Kennedy, etc., liked Obama for the very reason you stated. I also think Obama is playing them to get power, pretending to be their “friend,” but as soon as he would win, he’d take advantage of the strengthened executive branch to do whatever he and Michelle have dreamed and schemed about accomplishing all these years, as they sat in dear Rev. Wrights “church,” associated with former militant Black Panthers, Malcolm X factions of the Civil Rights movement, shady characters like Tony Rezko, etc. I mean, this guy hasn’t been in politics THAT long and already he’s accumulated such a collection of disreputable, questionable dealings and associates it’s mind-boggling.
I think it’s no “accident” he’s voted for FISA. One more step in enacting George Orwell’s “Brave New World.” Can you imagine a government, headed by Barack Obama and his crew of shady characters having free reign to snoop and eavesdrop on whoever they wanted LEGALLY! Forget about living in a democracy. It’d be all over. If he’s managed to intimidate and threaten not just everyday people, but a string of supposed prominent public officials, can you imagine what he will do if he were sitting in the Oval Office? Who would he be giving all this private information to? Who would he be giving important national secrets information to? Who would he be sitting and consulting with? Wright? Ayres? Michelle?

Campaigning for Hillary in Texas, most of the people we contact they said they were pro-Hillary.
She won El Paso 65 to 35 if not wrong, because we had to return to California as soon as the polls closed.
She also won in California with also the same percentage among latinos. They are very loyal to The Clintons.
But now because, they don’t know, latinos are thinking their only choice is Obama.
So, we need to target these voters and spread the voice about PUMA.

There’s definitely this “Power” drug that is interlaced in all of this. “Power” and “Greed.” Let’s not forget that power is addicting and we already know that Obama has an addictive personality evident in his drug use — so power is another drug that he craves. I think that the conspiracy goes way deeper than Dean, Pelosi, Kennedy, etc. These people just don’t have the clout to pull off what has happened to date. They may be major characters in this unfolding play, but I think that there is more to this plot than meets the eye. I’m still waiting for the headliner stars to enter the stage.

You are all good writers. I wouldn’t worry about *61’s trip to Europe and all the anchors going along. I think each of you should compose a letter from the heart to major papers and explain why we are not voting for *61.
The NYT, WP, LATimes, and the Christian Science Monitor all require individual letters and not a mass mailing of the same letters.
There are so many reasons why we cannot vote for him such as his inexperience, political track record, donations from shady characters, his church, and so on.
If we each pick one or two reasons and explain why we oppose his nomination, I think our letters will be published.
It is very easy to get caught up in the daily hype of this race and not see the important things. Another Puma wrote about McCain quietly and eloquently doing things that *61 would brag about. Again, this is another example of why this man is bad for our country.

Just for the record it wasn’t Yogi Berra who created the catch phrase “It ain’t over until the fat lady sings”.
What Yogi said was “It ain’t over til its over”.
Believe it or not the actual phrase is “It ain’t over til the opera lady sings” and was originally thought of by our own legendary local San Antonio sports writer Dan Cook. An NBA coach in the 70s (Gene Shue of the Bullets I think it was) is the one who gave it national notoriety when he quoted Mr. Cook’s line (or slightly misquoted line) in an interview.
Dan Cook was a great old guy too who acted so normal and kind to the average joe. I even met him once while shopping for groceries at a Handy Andy supermarket. Neat guy. Can’t say enough for this down to earth one of a kind man.
Unfortunately our legend passed away at 81 earlier this month. But he lived an extraordinarly full and fun life. Hellava guy!!!

Every day on this blog, I see posters here & there with comments like “gee, I hope Hillary doesn’t get offered the VP position,” or, “wow, maybe Obama is going to make sure Hillary’s name isn’t in the rollcall,” or “wow, the polls say this or that,” or any other combination of “what if this terrible thing happens?”
It’s all fine & well to try and predict every single little twist and turn of this primary season, but I don’t really think it’s the best way to spend y(our) time. Do you?
What’s your dream? Is it to finish school, learn a new language, start your own business, or maybe become the #1 surfing champion of the world? My point is, we’re all here to support cleaning house in the Democratic party. Reform of a party that needs reforming. And support Hillary.
What is your biggest dream for Hillary?
My guess is, your biggest dream for Hillary is to see her clinch the nomination in August. And then see her become the next President.
Hold that thought, and visualize it, see Hillary taking the oath of office, and keep telling yourself it’s real, it’s possible, it’s achievable and attainable. I guess my point is, we all know, a dream you feel passionately about can come true.
So be careful what your dreaming!

I work in a group home for the Mentally ill and we have escape plans and fire safety everyone should have fire safety and the firefighters were all volunteer. I have experienced some threats mostly from youtubers who are hung up on being “minorities” and believe that Obama will save them based on sharing 1/2 of his skin color. Most are what I call ghetto urbanites and are under 25. I have explained to them that this is NOT about RACE although Obama has playcated to these people and preyed on their most obvious insecurity. I have also explained that any THREAT will be met with the business end of a shot gun as I am in TEXAS and we have shown to defend our right to bear arms and protect our homes and families. I have never in my life experienced such meanness from a group of people and I worked for years in a maximum security prison where the men treated me with more curteousy than the “Obama sheeple”, this includes people who committed double homocide, or violent sex crimes. It just reinforces my belief that an Obama Presidency would be an American tragedy!
I have read lots of comments all over the internet as to why people will vote or won’t vote for Obama. Let me say 1st off I share alot of the same reasons. But honestly I don’t see how at this point anyone in their right mind would vote for anyone but McCain. As Americans, we have to take our country back from these politicians. Whether u are Repub or Dem, people have to be sick of the extremists both parties continue to put up for Nom. I have to admit the repubs finally put up a candidate who moderate. This is suppose to be our country. The politicians are suppose to answer to us. The People.
I’m sick of politicians talking partisan and bi-partisan. As long as they keep putting up extremists this will never happen and thats why nothing ever gets accomplished.
Its the people, us, who have to change this. And we have the power to change it. A close look at Barack Obama’s career reveals it has been even more mediocre than generally recognized.
Before being elected to the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked as a community organizer and a lawyer in Chicago.
In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side.
But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. A pre-existing group at Altgeld Gardens and a local newspaper, the Chicago Reporter, were working on the problem before Obama came on the scene, yet Obama does not mention them in his book, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.”
“Just because someone writes it, doesn’t make it true,” says Altgeld resident Hazel Johnson, who had been pushing for a cleanup of the cancer-producing substance years before Obama showed up.
Rep. Bobby L. Rush, D-Ill., says it was Johnson’s work, along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account.
“Was [Obama] involved in stuff? Absolutely,” says Robert Ginsburg, an activist who worked with Johnson and Obama on the problem. “But there was stuff happening before him, and after him.”
After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments.
Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”
Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.”
Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.
After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.”
A review of the cases Obama worked on during his brief legal career “shows he played the strong, silent type in court, introducing himself and his client, then stepping aside to let other lawyers do the talking,” the Chicago Sun-Times has reported.
“A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said.
Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said.
If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate.
In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes.
Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”
Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action.
In sum, it would be difficult to imagine a more mediocre record. Most candidates for dog catcher have contributed more to society. Yet with the help of adoring reporters, Obama has managed to parlay extraordinary speaking and political skills into a presidential campaign built on sand.
The idea that America might entrust its security and future to someone who has never demonstrated an ability to get anything of significance done is scary.
Look for John McCain to begin exploiting this vulnerability after Labor Day.

Second, I have been threatened on the DNC website. These people are unbelievable. But it is not surprising. This is how they operate, and this is how all criminals, terrorists, and bad people conduct business.
I have the best security system money can buy PLUS SOME and I am very careful. Luckily I live in texas and we can basically shoot first and ask questions second…
Finally, in my family business we have to employ security weekly and one of our top advisors always reminds me that it is NOT the threats you have to worry about but the act and most threats are empty.

I find this phone call you received at 11 PM, supposedly from the DNC very odd. When this guy actually asked you if you were a PUMA (and you didn’t volunteer that information first), I would guess that this guy is NOT from the DNC. Whoever the guy was, I wonder if he already suspected that you were a PUMA and wanted to confirm this. I don’t think the DNC makes calls for donations at 11 PM (although they are getting awfully desperate; I just got a second mailing from the DNC begging for a donation, after telling them to take me off their list). I haven’t had open threats, but I do have a Hillary bumper sticker on my car and am very vocal regarding my opinions about this election. I have had cars circling the block at my home and at my office downtown. Everyone please be careful. Because their candidate is obviously going down the drain, these Kool-Aid Obama automatons will stoop at nothing. I would guess they will step up the threats as Obama’s position worsens. I read what is happening to you folks over at Gateway Pundit and wanted to come over and voice my support for you and your cause even though I am not a supporter of Hillary Clinton (please don’t be mad).
What is occurring within the Democratic party is a travesty of democracy! It is straight out of the NSDAP playbook.
I left the party when I saw what was taking the leadership over and I feared that they would pull something like this and they have. Hillary has not withdrawn her candidacy, she has not released her delegates and the rules (unless the Obmamaniacs change them) stipulate that her name should be placed in nomination, period. She is a valid candidate and she and the members of the party have the RIGHT to have the convention delegates vote as to who the best candidate is for the party. Otherwise why are they wasting everyone’s time even pretending the “convention” is an exercise in democracy and just call it their “Recreate ‘34 old style Nürnberger Parteitag “?
You MUST NOT let these Obamabastards win! If you still believe in the party and your candidate you must fight them. You have powerful and nefarious forces arrayed against you but you and the Clinton’s can win this. Obama has won NOTHING and he does not have a “commanding lead”. This person might be REPUB but what he is saying relates especially regarding Pelosit/Reed and the downfall of America.
And here is one more parting thought. If Obama is elected, we will see the perfect liberal storm. We must realize that by putting Obama in the White House, we unleash the full rage of Pelosi and Reed. With the far left liberals running this country, we will not recognize it in four years. I feel it is likely that a move will be made to re-write the constitution so that we can subordinate our sovereignty to international governance. This has been in the wings for a long time, and it will all be put forth with the notion of creating a permanent peace. The constitution, and particularly the second amendment, is the only thing standing in their way if Obama gets elected.
I do not think that McCain is all that I would desire in a president. I do think, though, that a more acceptable conservative candidate would have no chance to beat Obama. We need to quit complaining about McCain and focus on the real problem here, and that is having the far left liberals take full control of this country. They will take your guns, then they will take your money, and through it all they will take your freedom. Before you know it, the US will no longer exist. If this sounds alarmist, that is because there should be alarms going off all over the place right now. We cannot blithely stand by while this travesty unfolds. We need to deal with it at the ballot box.

I’ve been trying to find out more about it but not much luck… It’s something I am sure Hillary and her lawyers ans well as BHO team are negociating though. Matter of fact, I heard that a long time ago on some tv cable news, but can’t locate info on it. But I think it is very important. What I remember is, that once BHO was named party nominee, he had control over the DNC party rules going forward and that he could set the agenda at the Credentials Committee and at Convention. Last I remember, some of the *same* people on the DNC May 31st Rules and Bylaws Committee are also on the Credentials Committee, so I would assume (but do not know) that perhaps they should be the ones to ask.
Not sure!!!

Let’s see… Senator Obama can envoke the names of JF Kennedy; and Martin Luther King but God forbid that Bill mention the name Jesse Jackson or Hillary mention the name RFk everyone is in an uproar.
When asked by media again why she was stil in the race she was merely saying that HISTORICALLY races have gone on much longer than this one and that there is absolutely no reason for her to get out of the race since she is in a virtual tie. In other words she was saying she is in it to win it.
I mean… what is the big deal… they each have a security team guarding them… that’s for a reason. For example a few weeks ago three Obama campaign centers were bombs or vandalized ( I was not sure which) because the story was only run once and for 20 seconds. After that it was stopped and we do have to wonder why.

At this rate, I don’t think the convention is going to be too “successful,” do you? And it looks pretty obvious there is going to be a pretty big “fight” – before, after and during the convention. The “Unity Express” never left the station. Not really surprising though ’cause it had paper wheels and no engine. It runs on “HOPE” and “CHANGE,” not gasoline, so for some strange reason, it just couldn’t move down the track. But it sure is pretty.
What that statement Rangel made says to me is: “He’s open to reconsidering his position.” I suggest using the arguments he’s stated, i.e. successful convention, overwhelming victory and no fight, as arguments to encourage him and others (from NY) to go back to Hillary.
I’m from NY. Hillary got huge support from the NY delegation. Most, if not all, of them them stuck by her to the VERY END. Didn’t officially switch over to Obama until AFTER Hillary gave her June 7 speech.
Don’t alienate them. They’d probably be more than happy to switch back to her, if there was a good way to do it and still appear as loyal Democrat team players.

Think there were 3 lawsuits filed during the course of the Primaries… each one shot down by Federal judges.
But if you do a web search for FIND LAW you may come across the names of the individuals who filed the lawsuits and they might be willing to help you.
I am just very surprised that a class action lawsuit has not been filed. But now… I am not sure if that would fly since the DNC gave the people back their popular vote so they may not have a leg to stand on.
The Steven Geller lawsuit also had others involved… 1 clinton supporter and 1 BHO supporter. Geller himeself was originally for Johh Edwards, me thinks.

The Truman doctrine, which set the West on the road to winning the cold war more than four decades later, was as clear-minded as Obama’s is not. He says he will focus on “five goals essential to making America safer”. I’ll try to deal with each one.
1) “Ending the war in Iraq responsibly”. Well, yes, and what does he think the US has been trying to do since the Surge was launched? It has made much progress, now how does he propose to get America out, short of withdrawing lots of troops in a hurry? I’ve heard nothing approaching a proper answer from him – and he’s been making speeches on the subject for what now seems like years.

I don’t blog often but I had to share these last two experiences.
First I get an email from Best Friends Sanctuary requesting that I sign for the “Obama Family Dog”. I sent them an email requesting to be removed from their list for the (obvious) reasons that I did not want to be associated with an organization that supported a person who disregarded others rights and felt that certain members of society have no value.
Then I get an email back assuring me that this is just for fun, bipartisan, blah, blah, had nothing to do with a particular candidate or stance.
I responded that what they were doing, had everything to do with the “selected” presumptive nominee. Meaning giving him more free publicity. I said I appreciated what they do for animals but from now on I’ll have to give my support to another animal rescue group.
It felt sooooo good! And I’m going to spread the word. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is in the Tank for *61.
Last thing, my husband got a call from Country Wide Loans the other day asking us if we wanted a new home loan. He told them we wanted *61’s sweetheart deal and hung up! We both laughed about that one.
That’s all for now. I have been busy spreading the word, the wonderful links here have been most useful. This has got to be the greatest community around, of course I’m not getting a lot done, but I’m usually close by.

I wonder if everyone is aware of the fact that according to VoteSmart.org…. Hillary’s voting record for the Humane Society has been supportive 100% four times out of SIX times voting in Animal Welfare legislative sessions (the other two were 86% and 75% supportive) while Ick Face has a voting record of 20, 60, 60 and 75% in four opportunities to support Animal Rights.
My big beautiful Kitty sitting right here beside me says “i gotta bad feeling about that guy”. I have to say, my cat is pretty freggin intuitive.
I’m going to be changing to a Yahoo email asap, but I wanted to let you know about a message I received last night, which I can’t seem to find, but there is a Trojan Horse going the rounds, like the Storm Worm a few years back, I have multiple spyware programs on my computer, all the same I just received a letter addressed to 2Witchy about winning a lotto in the Netherlands from LOTTO NL. If you get one pleaseimmediately delete it and run a scan. This is reliable information, it’s also posted on my home account site. So Murphy, by morning I’ll probably have to reset my name and password… D**n! Posted this last nite but everyone was gone. Also can someone please tell me how to know a cookie or hidden file is bad. I found one from google with tracking info, ie-gender, birthdate. I scanned for spyware and adware, and found none. so I went to internet tools and viiewed files and there are tons of cookies and hidden files, I don’t want to delete all, just the bad ones before I change my email, can someone please help me on this, so I can get on with the prowl &growl.

I wanted to attach part of a WP article about *61 opening 20 offices in VA. It is a very interesting perspective about *61’s hype. He is really a control freak like President Nixon.

What infuriates me is how BHO slammed Hillary saying that she voted for the war while he had the good judgement to vote against it. He sold himself as the PURELY anti-war (no if’s, and’s or but’s) candidate while accusing Hillary of supporting Bush’s Iraq war policies but now that he has gotten the nomination, his stand changes. Is this the kind of guy we Americans want to be the leader of our country?
I have been peeking in on your comments but didn’t have enough time to log on. I agree with Murphy that there is something about the BO campaign and their creeps that make them need to threaten women. That is the way he chose to address women who were for Hillary as soon as she suspended her campaign. He basically said “you women have to vote for me or you will lose your reproductive rights, so line up behind me now”. The fact that his goons are threatening female PUMAs lives does not surprise me. I was saying something similar about MoveOn.org recently. During the primaries they said nothing about the sexism and bashing that Hillary got from a lot of the news networks, especially MSNBC and CNN… and yet now that BO is the presumtive nominee, they’ve been having this big petition and massive effort to protest FOX for “smearing” BO.

you’re not alone, I see what’s going on and CAN’t believe it! I’m protesting these networks by NOT WATCHING at all and I think the next step should be to write letters to their sponsors. We need to follow the money and put a stop to their nonsense!
Well here is the deal. All of the networks and cable channels are owned by 5 companies. All of them. No one else can bring a channel or programing to market because of this cartel. These people also own the satellite TV delivery system and the cable system. We pay money to rent the connection to the TV cable and we should be able to pick the channels we receive. But no, we are force fed a group of channels from the cartel. These channels we think of as entertainment or news venues but the Cartel sees them as advertising venues. They make advertising money based on how many homes their ad venues reach. So they force feed them to us and keep everyone else from having a voice. Everything would change if we were able to refuse MSNBC and CNN etc and not pay for them. Then the Media Cartel would be responsive to The People or they would go out of business. But now they are only responsive to Corporate America who are their advertisers. Obviously BO the puppet is the choice of Corporate America. I really think the spectacle of BO and the “Stars” is going to make people want to puke. There are a whole lot of people who know at a core level that anything the Media is behind must be crap.

But, but, but… He didn’t vote for anything because he wasn’t a senator yet… He was just running, and gave ONE SPEECH at a Jessi Jackson event.
Once he became a US senator he has voted just like everyone else to fund the war. He is also the head of the Foreign Relations Committee and hasn’t held not one meeting… Cause he’s too busy campaigning for the presidency.
All he’s done his whole life is get one job to add onto his resume’ and then on to the next project. So my mind says, how long will it take him before he gets bored with being president.
I give him 6 months.

All of the death threats and sign burnings are unacceptable. At the same time, much of what PUMA is doing is counterproductive. The fact is Obama beat Hillary. The race was hers to lose and she lost it. I can[t and wont make excuses for her but some of the PUMA anger is unfair and bad for the party.
The Democratic party is really going off into the deep end and Obamaites and PUMAs need to grow up and remember that civility and intelligent discourse are the only answer.

We got different answers to this question when we called the DNC and they’ve refused to release an official statement. Also, Obama himself indicated to top Clinton fundraisers the issue would be “negotiated”. Either Obama didn’t know the rules or the DNC is not going to fight this one.
There were a couple of PUMAS who recorded their conversations with the DNC. If they are a legal recording (ie from a one-party consent state) be sure to save the recording.

No. He didn’t. That’s the point. If it had been a fair and democratic process, most of us would go on with our lives and pray for this country. We would not be raising our voices. As time goes on, the true source of vitriol wil be abundantly clear.
The Democratic Party IS divided. Telling voters to be quiet and sweep the dirt under the rug will only feed the larger problem. Democracy is messy sometimes, but that’s how it works.

For a non-professional, you did very well in describing the sociopath/psychopath. There’s another interesting point, though: they can get very emotional — about themselves and the “suffering” they’ve had to endure, however trivial or imaginary. This is not sophistry, it’s actual empathy for their self-image.
The social/moral functions in the frontal lobes are getting no “juice”. In fact, they down deep believe others are stubbornly faking all that stuff, and have developed skills to push buttons to get the “programmed” responses they want. And to pretend they also have them.
It’s like we all have “handles” that we offer each other, to allow each other to influence and be influenced. When you think you’ve grasped a ‘path’s handles, though you suddenly find it was mirage, and vanishes from your hand. It takes some time and repeated experience of this to actually realize that emotionally there’s “no one home” in this respect.
There are varying degrees, of course. It has been found in longitudinal studies that children who were best at lying and pulling off deceptions ended up as the most successful “leaders” and politicians. Beware.
