When it came down to the two candidates: Senators Clinton and Obama, I was thrilled. I was in heaven. I knew we (Democrts) couldn’t lose after 8 years of GW and his failed policies. The US was ready for a change. Even Republicans were talking about voting for a Democrat!
Between the two, I knew the least about Senator Obama, so I gave him the bulk of my attention. I admit that I also had a conflicting vested interest in having a woman be our President in my lieftime, after an uninterrupted line of male presidents. The bottom line though, was: I would be happy with either.
I paid particular attention to Obama, even after weeks of “hope/change” (TM), I figured he was just setting the theme. Fine. Meanwhile, I heard (I wasn;t really listening) to Senator Clinton. After a couple of months, I realized that Senator Clinton was stating positions of substance and conviction, while Senator Obama was still doing, what became to me, the hopey-changey mantra. I became impatient for him to say something substantative.
Then came the race baiting. It made me, literally, physically ill. The blatant sexism and misogeny of the media was without parallel in my lifetime…(and, Im OLD). But still, I listened, and waited. And you know what? When he finally did start stating positions, I was pleased, until the next week, or with the next audience, he reversed himself, and denied, rationalized, and blamed others for misconstruing what he said. Problem was, I heard and understood what he said and I didn’t miscontrue anything.
The shenanighans of the primaries (i.e. his lawyers fighting to stop a revote in Michigan. Campaigning in Florida, etc.). Distanced me much further, and teh DNC RBC on May 31, cemented my support of Senator Clinton.
I’m not trying to bash your candidate. I know you must be disappointed. I was disappointed too, but I wasn’t invested, and I had a safety-net in Senator Clinton.
I’m just trying to explain the reasons I shifted from Obama to Clinton.

Excellent post. It’s important for people to realize that many of us did give Senator Obama serious consideration and did listen to what he had to say. If he had impressed us and earned our trust and confidence, as Hillary did, we’d be supporting him now. However, that was not the case.

OK – Thanks Stardust and Sheila7 for offering to help Trish with the project – as you know she has been doing a complete listing of superdelegates with all the pertinent info – Clinton and Undecided were fairly simple and almost done – but the slippery superdelegates of the slippery you know who are not so easy – you have to research on the internet to track em down – but it is SOOOO rewarding when you find them – point of all of this is that if our lady Hillary is going to win this nomination – we have to mass email on several levels – those that aborted her at the end and went to him – those that are still undecided and those that went with him whose State or district voted for Hillary – if we can just get 150 or so delegates over to Hillary – she has the nomination – providing the DNC doesn’t screw her over – so thats the stakes here – big ones at best.

I still don’t think there is even going to BE an election. I believe Israel is going to attack Iran before Bush and Olmert have leave office. And then Bush will suspend elections in the interest of National Security because we may well be on the brink of World War III.
Reason for believing this: The USA already has its Delta Force and others in Iran on covert missions to foment political turmoil and to mark targets so our jets and missles can lock on pre-set targets. Many years ago, a great hitter named Paul Waner was nearing the end of his long career. He entered a ballgame with 2,999 hits, one hit away from the landmark total of 3,000, which so many hitters want to reach, but which relatively few actually do reach.
Waner hit a ball that the fielder did not handle cleanly but the official scorer called it a hit, making it Waner’s 3,000th. Paul Waner then sent word to the official scorer that he did not want that questionable hit to be the one that put him over the top.
The official scorer reversed himself and called it an error. Later Paul Waner got a clean hit for number 3,000!
What reminded me of this is the great fervor that many seem to feel over the prospect of the first black President of the United States .
No doubt it is only a matter of time before there is a black president, just as it was only a matter of time before Paul Waner got his 3,000th hit. The issue is whether we want to reach that landmark so badly that we are willing to overlook how questionably that landmark is reached.
Paul Waner had too much pride to accept a scratch hit. Choosing a President of the United States is a lot more momentous than a baseball record. We the voters need to have far more concern about who we put in that office that holds the destiny of a nation and of generations yet unborn.
There is no reason why someone as arrogant, foolishly clever and ultimately dangerous as Barack Obama should become president, especially not at a time when the threat of international terrorists with nuclear weapons looms over 300 million Americans.
Many people seem to regard elections as occasions for venting emotions, like cheering for your favorite team or choosing a Homecoming Queen.
The three leading candidates for their party’s nomination are being discussed in terms of their demographics, race, sex and age, as if that is what the job is about.
One of the painful aspects of studying great catastrophes of the past is discovering how many times people were preoccupied with trivialities when they were teetering on the edge of doom. The demographics of the presidency are far less important than the momentous weight of responsibility that office carries.
Just the power to nominate federal judges to trial courts and appellate courts across the country, including the Supreme Court, can have an enormous impact for decades to come. There is no point feeling outraged by things done by federal judges, if you vote on the basis of emotion for those who appoint them.
Barack Obama has already indicated that he wants judges who make social policy instead of just applying the law. He ha s already tried to stop young violent criminals from being tried as adults.
Although Senator Obama has presented himself as the candidate of new things, using the mantra of “change” endlessly, the cold fact is that virtually everything he says about domestic policy is straight out of the 1960s and virtually everything he says about foreign policy is straight out of the 1930s.
Protecting criminals, attacking business, increasing government spending, promoting a sense of envy and grievance, raising taxes on people who are productive and subsidizing those who are not; all this is a re-run of the 1960s.
We paid a terrible price for such 1960s notions in the years that followed, in the form of soaring crime rates, double-digit inflation and double-digit unemployment. During the 1960s, ghettoes across the countries were ravaged by riots from which many have not fully recovered to this day.
The violence and destruction were concentrated not where there was the greatest poverty or injustice but where there were the most liberal politicians, promoting grievances and hamstringing the police.
Internationally, the approach that Senator Obama proposes, including the media magic of meetings between heads of state, was tried during the 1930s. That approach, in the name of peace, is what led to the most catastrophic war in human history.
Everything seems new to those too young to remember the old and too ignorant of history to have heard about it.

There has been an increasing emphasis on the state polls for this election. The Obamabots are going crazy over polls which show BO leading in CO, NV, VA etc. This is worrisome…..McCain needs to step on it, we need to focus on individual states to make sure BO does not win. Remember the GE is not by popular vote (although it should be) We need to find a way to target people in key states not to vote for BO…..whether its Nader, staying at home, McCain, etc. I am hoping McCain will begin running ads soon…..I can see a McCain victory over BO (if he is the nominee) but its going to take effort. I hope the DNC and Obama and his “movement” are starting to understand that there are millions of Democrats who are not moving. We are not united, but divided. We are tired of the DNC drones and their selected candidate Obama trying to take the democracy out of the Democratic party. They hijacked the election as it is, and now they are trying to prevent Hillary Clintons name from being put on the convention ballot as a nominee. She has the right, as other candidates before her, to have her delegates counted, a roll call taken. Sen. Clinton has millions of supporters, and we are not going to just fall in line, now or ever. We will not be bullied or belittled by our own party or any other. Prior to this election, I was a proud Democrat, now I am contemplating leaving the party. As Susan B. Anthony once said, “No self respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her.”

I haven’t seen the polls of state to which you are referring but I was encouraged today that for the first time the MSM started to call it a “dead heat”. Also there was a poll on ABC asking people if they which candidate seemed like a presidential leader (not sure of the wording) but McCain was in the 80% range and Obama about 45%. I’ve never heard this on the regular news channels before because up until now if it wasn’t good for Obama they didn’t speak of it.

Brian posted quite a bit in the beginning. I was not always able to read all the posts, might have missed something.

You know maybe it was a mistake to print that Fantastic ad w/the spot-on message in a Chicago newspaper first. As I have seen absolutely no coverage in the news about it and it was _definitely_ newsworthy. Any reporter worth his salt would write about it.
Media censoring itself? WHo knows but I hope they go for the NY Times next as I believe the writers there would either do a long story about them or at least mention the ad in passing.

I’m on here late, because I work (at home) until midnight; sort of aggravating because I have to really concentrate on work and if I take a break, it’s only a small break, so I miss out on the posts here until I get done. I’m here in Texas, near Amarillo.
I saw something about Puma on HRC’s site and I came over and checked it out and ka-boom.. I felt at home… but I will say this one thing. Even prior to finding out about Puma, with the way the “so-called” news was playing it, I had already decided if HRC did not get the nomination, I was NEVER going to vote for Nobama. I kept listening to him debate her and knew there was nothing there. Besides that, I admit I had followed and researched the many things she has done in her career since President Clinton came up for election the first time. Her resume is extremely impressive. I was so inspired by her work to try to get Universal Health Care while President Bill Clinton was in office and just blown away by her intelligence and honesty. I admire and respect President Clinton for all he did while he was Governor of Arkansas and POTUS.. but I admire everything HRC did as well. There is simply no contest between HRC and Nobama. When she “suspended” her campaign, though, I was in mourning.. so I am glad I found this site. It’s been amazing and it has gotten me going again. I believe we can make a difference, because there are so many people here who also believe we can make a difference. And thank goodness for all of you!!!!

the sad thing about that interview was how disrespectful he was of her. then I watched him with the next guest (man from here in St. Louis about inbev, don’t get me going on that!) and he started to be rude with him and the guy spoke over him and then he stopped. Yes, he was very rude and kept interrupting her. I don’t know his name but I know a bunch of people at the blog I am on sometimes were sending messages to Cavuto about his replacement. I thought Heidi held her own and remained polite and accentuated how awful he was. Of course, that tactic is fairly typical of Fox interview style.

As to Mr O, I saw through him from get-go.
I was most concered about the young people and how very disappointed they were going to be once they found out he was just another politician and that he was using their numbers for photo opts.
While George Bush used pretty little signs in back of him to match his suit and tie, Mr O used people, plain and simple!

Heidi was great considering all but with a decent interviewer she would have been able to make a few more coherent points. Some were worried that the way he cut her off all the time fragmented the information for folks who know nothing about the movement. We “got it” because we already know but it’s hard to say how others perceived it.

Actually I was for Obama way back because he was the local guy and I lived in Hyde Park a few years ago. But it was a rather disinterested endorsement. When the campaign season started and I started listening to the debates etc. Hillary just blew me away. There are many other reasons I can’t abide BO but in the very beginning of my blog I explain why I couldn’t support him.

It’s great you are finishing college. The one here is quite good and my daughters feel more comfortable exploring their interests there rather than committing to a 4 year plan in the beginning.

Why does everyone worry so much about troll infestation? Murphy’s great at keeping this a friendly place for us all…but surely bots are lurking. And so? I don’t have anything to hide. Shoot, I spend hours each day proclaiming as best I can! I donno, I’m just not scared of trolls…or people with opinions. What can they do to us? Nothing. They can try and slander us, but heck, we’ve got inspiration on how to stand up under adversity, do we not?
Mmmm. I am too tired to think of writing one more letter, else I’d help with the super delegate talking points. I love how it was broken down and I agree, talking about the possible reasons why someone would choose to vote for Obama is more of an attractive dialogue style, in my opinion, than bulleting various facts.
Too bad I’m done for the night. But uh, I will look tomorrow and hope that said letter is prominently displayed, numerous times, please, if need be.

This makes me well informed, however, what it also does is allow me to look like a BS artist a bit. Because, inevitably, there’s someone who says, oh yeah, where’d you hear that? And I’m like….uh…I don’t remember. :/ That’s why having a current list of issues in front of me helps, because otherwise I’ll spin it into more humanized, general information. But yeah, “my manuscript has been received”…hah. So wow.

I just called Sen. Bill Nelson (FL) and specifically asked about his delegate. The woman told me the DNC is supporting Obama, I said I don’t want to hear about the DNC, I want to know what Nelson is going to do with his delegate. She gave me all the baloney that BO had the most pledged delegates and the supers made him the nominee and that Nelson was going to vote for Obambi at the convention. Now Nelson is the senator who filed suit against the DNC because of disenfranchising Florida. I got their fax number and I’m going to have to give him a piece of my mind. If we can’t get the supers to change their minds, there is no point in putting her name in nomination. They are gutless and they will not go against the Party. The only way this can happen is if behind the scenes, Hillary is getting delegate commitments and not sharing them with the media, that it would all be secret until Denver. This all seems unlikely and I’m really disgusted with the biased coronation of an unqualified candidate.

I just leanrned that the super delegates vote by secret ballot at the convention. This would mean, that if they change their minds about supporting Obama, they have an ‘out’ to vote for Hillary. What we have to do is convince them to put her on the ballot and then to vote for her.
I think, if we took a day, everyday, to target the super delegates in each state, starting with the ones Hillary won. We could flood their e-mails and switch boards in a concentrated effort when we make our request. We could co-ordinate with other groups and send letters to the editors within the states where we are targeting. If we need to, we could do two states at a time.

Conflucians and PUMAs, maybe you’ve already booked your flight and made your hotel/campsite reservation for Denver but what will you be doing once you get there? And what is PUMA all about anyway? What is our purpose? Are we a movement? A new party?
Those are questions we are attempting to answer and for this purpose, the instigators of the PUMA movement propose an organizing meeting in Washington DC. The Pre-Convention PUMA Conference (PCPC) will be held on August 8-10 at the Marriott Wardham Hotel, the scene of the crime.
The purpose of PCPC will be to organize PUMA for the purposes of the Denver convention and to define our role going forward. We see great potential in PUMA as being an organization that keeps an eye on the major parties. Right now, there is no particular entity whose responsibility it is to make sure that the parties play by the rules. There is no group that holds the party players accountable to the voters for the decisions they make and the propaganda they generate. PUMAs are now to assume the mantle of responsibility that others have abandoned. We will become the referees. We hope to represent the voice of the voters who will give democracy back to the electorate. We want to make sure that our votes are counted, our primary results are respected, and what is important to us is recognized and included in party platforms. And unlike more ideologically motivated groups that have sprung up in the last several years, it is our desire to find that place where most Americans are and base our positions on principle, and to survey the political landscape from those principles, in order to resist the cults of personality and fad movements which have siphoned our strength and diminished our role as voters.
Right now, we are in the process of organizing this first conference. Our time is short. Our immediate goal is to plan for our presence in Denver. Our long term goals are to develop the infrastructure that will make us a powerful political force for future elections. Our tentative agenda is here: tentative-agenda There will be a number of organizing workshops on Saturday. For example, The Confluence has been asked to organize Saturday morning and afternoon workshops on blogging in its current and future manifestations.
Now, PUMAs, this conference is being planned with the help of event planners who have graciously donated their time and expertise to help make this happen. However, we are in a bit of a bind. We aren’t sure how many of you will attend. Some of you have already budgeted your money for Denver. The cost of PCPC is estimated to be ~$200/person. This does not include hotel accomodations that we are presently negotiating with the hotel. Since many blogs and organizations are founders of the PUMA movememt, we would like to hear from as many of you as possible in defining our role and organizing our coalition activities and strategy in Denver. But being mindful of budgets and time, we propose that these blogs and orgs send a few representatives. If there is more interest (we would be delighted at this prospect), we need to get a headcount so we can acquire facilities and equipment accordingly. So, I am asking those of you checking in this morning to copy this post shamelessly to your own sites and get a show of hands of those who are interested. If you can please let us know by this Friday how much interest there is, we will pass this information to the event organizers.

I went to Wal-mart yesterday to get some more black ink for my printer. While I was there, I thought I would look and see if any of my flyers I put here and there were gone. Yes, they were all gone. I put three or four by the door as you come in by the free papers. I had to put a free car paper on them, because the wind was blowing everytime someone came in the door. I even put one on the bottom of the shelf, with a paper on part of it and all of them were gone, with the car papers still were I put them. Hopefully, some Hillary supporters got them. There is alot of hillary supporters here.

What’s being said here is that those who have already contributed to Hillary’s general election campaign (not the primary race), have the option of rolling over those contributions to her 2012 senate race or get a refund. If no response is received by August 29 from those contributors, then their donations will automatically be refunded. The Aug 29 date is significant in that it is, I believe the last day of the Democratic Convention.
What’s more interesting is the way Huffpo is implying that Hillary is trying to “steal” donations by not offering a refund. Note the “…instead of offering a refund” line in the first paragraph and the absence of the last paragraph on automatic refunds on the lead page. Its the only part of the article missing.

For the past several weeks Barack Obama has been referred to by most media outlets as the presumptive Democratic candidate, with many of his followers believing that the nomination itself was a forgone conclusion. Obama himself has operated under that same belief as he makes a dramatic shit to the right on most major issues, highlighted most recently by his recent vote on FISA. As I noted at the time, Hillary had originally voted in favor of the bill before later changing her vote after it was assured the bill would pass without her support. I reminded readers that although Obama may appear to be the Democratic nominee in November, nothing is written in stone as of yet, and Hillary may very well pull off a political coup at the convention and gain her parties nomination.

I just unsubscribed, but I did receive an email on Keith Olbermann, and the attacks mentioned within the email re: sexism in the media were on Ms. Obama and Katie Couric. What about our Hillary????? I am so angry at them. I wrote them a note about how I would no longer contribute because of their failure to support Hillary and because they were supporting a man who ran a sexist, misogynistic campaign (Michelle’s “can’t run your own house, can’t run the White House”; Jesse Jackson Jr – running a campaign against Hillary reminded him of OJ and how to attack a white woman, and the New Hampshire tearing up “she didn’t cry over Katrina and we must really analyze her tears” – he went on and on about it – reall a**hole; the elected official in Tenn who is an Obama delegate who said Hillary should have stayed in the tub (Glenn Close/Fatal Attraction); Obama’s infamous sweetie comment and apology in which he admitted calling “people” “sweetie” was a “bad habit”; the not yet (for me) verified Obama comment to a factory worker that she would make a great dancer – please tell me how to get evidence on that if you have it)

I just got off the phone with a lovely young lady in President Clinton’s office! She was amazing, and said many of us have called and feel the same way about campaigning for BO. She said he will definitely get the message. I took a second to thank her too for the job she is doing and that she is helping our cause just by being kind and polite.
I also got a note from the Seattle PI asking if I had sent my letter from yesterday’s growl to the Seattle Times as well. I didn’t and told her so. Maybe we’ll be represented here in the NW. I’ll keep you posted.

Let’s start with Obama.
On issue after issue, whether confessing to a mistake or tailoring his latest position for political effect (“moving to the center” is what they call this in political lingo), Obama’s words are now increasingly being received as bald untruths. His image is turning into that of presidential candidate as Pinocchio, the would-be president as habitual liar. Simply googling “Obama Lies” produces thirteen million references on the subject — thirteen million! — as opposed to just over a million references to “Bush Lies” and three million for “Bill Clinton Lies.” Type in “McCain Lies” and you find a meager 213,000 entries. Among the Obama thirteen million are “Obama’s Fifty Lies” and “More Obama Lies the Media Will Ignore” while You Tube features a video clip called “Barack Obama Lies to America.” Others are busy cataloguing Obama statements as “bigger” or “demonstrable” lies, with an entire site devoted to Obama’s “laundry list of lies.”
Something to think about, Obama had to use big money to get to where he is today. He continues to fight for his stay at the top with cash. His supporters for the most part expect to be paid for their work for him. We on the other hand are a group of millions and are doing our work for Hillary voluntarily and are fervent to do it. He is bleeding money, we are only bankrolling it. He will fall and Puma is determined to make that happen. Obama, you underestimate us – you have no chance.

Just made my daily growl call. I was so … well, let’s just put it this way …. emotional! omg. A polite young man answered and I actually said “I’m so nervous and thrilled to be calling President Clinton’s office that I have to read from the notes I’ve made – is that ok?” He said, very kindly, “It’s quite all right. I understand perfectly.”
I delivered my message and I asked if President Clinton would be informed of these calls. The young man told me that he will pass the info on to his supervisor, but couldn’t promise anything beyond that. He suggested e-mailing or writing a letter. I will do that, too.
I have to tell you all that I got choked up. Really – voice shaking, hard to speak choked up. I’m actually fighting tears now. This entire election (make that SELECTION) has been such an overwhelming experience. sigh. Thankfully, we are joined and fighting this good fight. We just have to make a difference. We already are.

Everyone, read this article. It points out that BO’s staff – these same so-called experts who presumably will be his chief foreign policy advisers should he be elected President – were surprised at the bad press their man’s proposed appearance at the Brandenburg Gate has aroused. It even includes this disparaging opinion from CNN.
“CNN asks, for example: Is an open conflict with the chancellor of Germany, one of our key allies, a good example of the cooperative type of foreign policy Obama is pledging?”
Just as I first said here almost a week ago: at this point, given the impropriety of the suggestion that he campaign at the Brandenburg Gate as well as the contempt such suggestion has engendered, he will be damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t we just lose 9 U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan during a raid,a few days ago? This was the most lost at one time. Yes, I believe *61 was heading up a subcommitte on Afghanistan even before starting his race for the Presidency. Yet, as of yet, has not had a single subcommitte meeting (at least I haven’t heard that he has had any). So, shouldn’t he bear some of the burden for those lives lost???? This just infuriates me. Shouldn’t he have been on top of some of this?

July 13, 2008 (LPAC)–With the U.S. and British financial press full of wild speculation about how the Bush Administration is going to intervene Monday morning, to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Lyndon LaRouche today issued a sharp, preemptive warning: “The financial system is already dead. It cannot be saved.” LaRouche expanded: “If any of the reports of a planned bailout of the two big mortgage lenders, by the Treasury Department or the Federal Reserve are true, I say, `Forget it.’ Any such efforts to delay the funeral of the present global financial and monetary system will only make matters worse. A bailout will cause an accelerated hyperinflationary explosion, far worse than the hyperinflation that hit Weimar Germany in the autumn of 1923. Back then,” LaRouche continued, “Germany had a gun pointed to its head. The gun was called the Versailles Treaty, and Germany had no choice. Today, the United States has a choice. I spelled out the choice in numerous recent locations.”
LaRouche cited his recent call for the Federal Reserve to immediately raise interest rates to 4 percent, as a stop-gap measure to prevent a massive flight of institutional capital from the banking system. He demanded that this move be accompanied by clear statements from the Fed that there will be no more Bear Stearns-style bailouts of the speculative bubble. Instead, the Fed will protect the chartered Federal and state banks, through bankruptcy reorganization, on the model of what Franklin Roosevelt did, when he first took office in March 1933, and faced the same kind of collapse of the banking system that we face now. “Only, today’s crisis is orders of magnitude worse,” LaRouche added, “due to the massive leveraging by the banks and other financial institutions.”
LaRouche warned that Bush Administration and Fed officials, like Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke, may be on an “ego trip–unwilling to admit that they have failed miserably. But the reality is that they,like the George W. Bush Administration, have failed, with wretched incompetence. For one thing, they failed to reverse the Alan Greenspan monster bubble, which is now blowing.”
LaRouche added that there is no way to even estimate the magnitude of the financial bubble, that has now blown. “The collapse of Fannie and Freddie means the end of the system. And that has already happened, and nothing can be done, within the rules of the current system, to solve that problem. We can keep Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac alive, but only through actions reforming the system, in terms echoing the precedents of President Franklin Roosevelt, that in ways appropriate for the actual conditions of today.
“The only alternative is to implement my three-step solution to the crisis,” LaRouche concluded. “If the so-called leadership in Washington is unwilling to do that, then this financial system, and, by extension, these United States, are finished. It may be a tough reality to swallow, but it is the only reality that there is.”
Lyndon LaRouche will be delivering an international webcast on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 1 PM (EDT). The webcast takes place on the first anniversary of LaRouche’s July 25, 2007 Washington, D.C. webcast address, in which he announced that the financial system had already crashed. Days later, the collapse of Countrywide, and other major mortgage lenders, and the blowout of Bear Stearns, illustrated that LaRouche was 100 percent correct.

Anyone get the idea that this was a conspiracy? Patrick is a close personal friend of Obama, was elected on a promise of “change” and has been a big disappointment. His most notable achievement has been to spend an inordinate amount of time writing his autobiography. Just what we elected him for.

I did find out that the reason the dems are pushing for donations is that they are very short on funds for the convention or corination however you look at it. They have had to cancel several programs and are still having problems with food and where to locate the protesters. #61 has sent some of his troops to denver to find out what is going on. A little story to share
While tending bar in a hotel the other day an Obama ad came on the TV, unable to control myself I made a sign of disgust and muted it. It was the afternoon and only one middle aged guy at the bar. I apologized and he said no need. He is a life long republican who at the beginning of the primary season despised Hillary of the 90′s and thought she was only riding her husbands coattails, but as the prolonged season continued he said he gained a new respect for the woman and her intellegence and would have no problem voting for her over McCain. The gentleman was quite affluent and said her interview with the Schaife guy ( owner of Pittsburgh Tribune and an instrumental player in Bill’s impeachment) and O’reilly combined with her continued resolve regarding univeral health care won him over. Made my day!!

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is sending out letters to donors asking permission to roll a $2,300 contribution to Clinton’s 2008 general election coffers to her 2012 senate election fund instead of offering a refund.
The letter, read to me by one recipient, includes a photocopy of a handwritten note from Clinton that says, “Dear friend, your commitment has meant so much to me over the course of my presidential campaign. You were there for me when I needed you the most and I’ll never forget it. I hope you’ll help me continue to fight for the issues and causes we believe in by filling out the enclosed form in support of Friends of Hillary.”
The form says, “I hereby verify that my 2008 general election contribution may be designated to the 2012 Senate election. I designate the entire amount to the 2012 primary election. However if I have already contributed to the 2012 primary, I designate any amount in excess of $2,300 to the 2012 general election.”
“If we do not hear back from you by August 28 2008 we will automatically refund your contribution.”
This donor, at least, had no intention of signing. “Of course I’m going to get my money back,” the donor told me.

I’m a new puma on this blog, and I write to you from France. I’ve been reading you for several weeks now, in fact since the creation of PumaPac.
I have been a fan of Hillary for many years, as I have studied her political career for my university research work (I teach American politics in a French university in Lyon, a French city in the South.)
What is funny is that a few weeks ago, I decided to create a blog, just after Hillary’s concession speech in June (I think your movement was born at the same time !). I wanted to show everybody in France that Obama is a bad choice, that Hillary was, is and will always be the best choice for the Democratic Party.
I have always believed she could get the nomination even if she has lost officially. I think Obama is a real danger for your beautiful country : he is only a dream, an illusion.
We have been used to that sort of liars here in France, with our current president, Nicolas Sarkozy. Everybody believed in his promise during the French presidential campaign last year : “Ensemble tout devient possible” : “Everything is possible as long as we stand together.” It reminds me of “Change we can believe in” or “Yes we can !”
Those slogans do not mean anything. Today, here in France, most people feel disappointed, betrayed by the president. Our country is in a mess.
You have to know that here in France, everybody has also been caught in Obama’s trap. I really feel lonely, because all French people are convinced that Obama is going to win the election easily, and will restore America’s image abroad.
But they are wrong ! totally wrong !
I support you PUMA : I want to join your action.
I have just sent an e-mail too to President Clinton, and I will do my best to help you, even if I am far from you.
I know that BO is to visit us in Paris on the 25th of July, I think. I’m sure he will be greeted by a lot of fans, and I am so ashamed of my country !

It could take Hillary Clinton years to obliterate the mountainous campaign debt she’s racked up, which would be tough on her concerned creditors – but it certainly won’t be the first time it’s happened in a presidential campaign.
Ex-Ohio Sen. John Glenn, the former astronaut, for years was unable to pay back some $3 million in debt from his 1984 presidential bid. Finally, the creditors stopped expecting to be paid and the Federal Election Commission let him close the books in 2006.
Gary Hart had trouble getting rid of his debt, as did Jesse Jackson and Pat Robertson. From the 2008 campaign, Republican Rudy Giuliani and Democrats Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson are still looking to wash out some red ink.
Clinton, who as of the most recent campaign finance filings owed in the neighborhood of $10 million to creditors – and a similar amount to herself – is now looking to primary rival Barack Obama and others to help with fund-raising to pay down that debt.
Last week, Obama made headlines for encouraging his supporters to donate to Clinton’s debt-retirement fund – but mostly because he forgot to do so until after he finished his speech and was getting ready to cut out.
Meanwhile, Clinton’s creditors continue to wait by the figurative mailbox for their checks.
In Harlingen, Tex., the campaign is $650 in debt to Jo Liston for a minibus and van her small tour and transport company provided for a Clinton event. Liston’s been sending bills, but says she’s not sure she’ll ever get paid.
“They’re broke. I understand that, [but] I would assume people should pay their debts. That’s what most people do,” said Liston. “I’ve never missed a pay period.”
Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee said the senator’s priority is “to raise the money needed to pay off all of the small vendors who helped her campaign as soon as possible, while doing everything shecan to help elect Sen. Obama as the next President.”
Not everyone’s getting the shaft, of course: Last month, Clinton fan Rob Lippincott, owner of Guero’s Taco Bar in Austin, Tex., received the $8,000 that was coming to him for running a February debate-watch party.
When he started seeing reports about Clinton’s debt, Lippincott said, “I was just thinking, ‘Well, who knows who’s going to get paid and who isn’t?’ It was significant. We were sure glad to get it.”

Donna Brazille is a member of DNC. She is not elected (as fair as I know). Now, how does one get themselves to be members of the DNC? I’m not exactly sure.
As far as Howard Dean, he is elected by elected Democrats and members of the DNC. We “virtually” have no say over who the head of the DNC is. Now, that being said, DFA and I believe move-on.org, coordinated a letter writing campaign in late 2004 and early 2005 to elected Democrats basically saying that they had to elect Dean or they would be on a watch list and gone after if Dean was not elected to be the DNC chair. So, we could do letters again. A new election for DNC chair will occur this winter after the election and that personw will be DNC chair until 2013.

Although this is today’s date on your post I think it might me old news in reality. PUMA raised about 10 mil and we have no account with what more was paid this week. She could have it paid off by now. Will said last week she only owed about 5 mil more. (Not her 11 mil she gave her own campaign)
Ok I read the email from HRC and saw that she is talking about the GE fund, not the primary fund. That is not good news unless they have been getting slammed with refund requests and want to counter those..
If you Google you will see a lot of ex Obama supporters opening new sites.
Hillary Primary Debt:
I read something earlier that people who had maxed out on donations to the campaign, could donate to her 2012 campaign. Then, it may be possible for her to use that money to pay off vendor debt from her presidential primary.
It was previously unclear if she could in fact do this but I do believe there had been precedent for it. I just don’t know if something like that had been done since the passage of the McCain/Feingold legislation.
Hey, everyone. I haven’t read all the blogs. Just got off the phone with his office (the prowl email). I was read a statement over the phone that reveals a politically savvy mind but unfortunately is bad news. I asked the person on the phone to please pass on my disappointment at the content of the statement I was read over the phone. I also stated that I was offended on behalf of Pr. BC at the way he was treated by *61 during the campaign.
I am still upset as I write this, but I guess the statement should have been expected.

I can state as a fact that Hillary would go to Denver, be put in nomination if she thought it was possible. Have no second thoughts of that. Whether that happens or not is anyone’s guess.

. Did anyone complete the daily prowl and get a response by way of a written statement read by a beleaguered staff member? I asked him to “read it with feeling” to me. At least I got a tiny laugh. This statement was from Bill Clinton stating how proud he was to be campaigning on the behalf of the great BO”. l asked the staff member if he himself believed it and he responded that: “if it is in writing, it must be true”.

The times describes itas “one of the fastest growing lobbying shops in washington” and one of the most powerful firms in the west. Farbers contact list will be crucial in raising millions needed by the dem committee. Farber says he will now be selling Obama and the excitement he has created in his candidacy and it is clear obama is willing to be sold. The times states how #61 will brazenly sell his soul to the devil to have his coronation party. The times says for obama he has no clothes and says he is now totally naked but standing behind a magnifing glass. Obama has claimed he is fre of contributions from lobbyists and goes after mccain at every opportunity.
