Here’s a few updates on fundraising and Denver.
Puma PAC ROAR!
As you know, our main fundraiser is the ROAR! that we kicked off on June 21st. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by July 20th to fund advertising and outreach in important media markets BEFORE the Convention. We are not halfway there yet, but I am CONFIDENT we will reach our goal. In the meantime, we are moving forward and reaching milestones.
We have contracted with a Los Angeles film company to produce a short video to use as an advertisement and outreach fundraising tool. Filming of this ad/promo begins Tuesday. The director will be interviewing and filming several leaders of the Puma movement as well as activists and volunteers in Texas who were eye-witnesses to the fraud and intimidation at the caucuses. This will be a powerful and “knock-your-socks-off” invitation to voters to join us in Protesting the Election and fighting back against the Obama Movement’s “March to a Coronation” in Denver.
As we reach out to more donors, we will set up a special fund to produce a full-length documentary titled “Start a Small War: The Hillary Flashpoint and the Battle for the Soul of the Democratic Party,” about this primary season and the Puma PAC movement. Plans include putting video cameras on all the buses to Denver; traveling to caucus states to expose the voter fraud; and highlighting the disenfranchisement and blatant sexism by the Obama campaign and the DNC. We believe this film will be a POWERFUL historical document. More to come on that.
We have also contracted with US-Sky-Ads to fly “Puma PAC/Nominate Hillary” banners over the beaches of the Jersey Shore and Miami this weekend and next! We are in discussions with them regarding flying HUGE “Puma PAC Says: Nominate Hillary!” banners over the skies of Denver for six hours EVERY DAY of the Convention! Hint — cost: about $25,000.

I still believe that some advertising needs to be done here in West Virginia, Kentucky, and southeastern Ohio. I’ll try to donate when I can. I just had to take my dog to the vet to have a tooth pulled. The bill was $250. OUCH!! Earlier this evening, my filling came out of my tooth and I now have to get to the dentist tomorrow to fix it. I just had to borrow $250 to fix this about 3 months ago. This sucks! FISA: Clinton Stands Up; Obama Caves

Senator Hillary Clinton voted against cloture on the FISA bill today AND against the final bill.
Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, voted for cloture and for the final FISA bill, which legalizes warrantless eavesdropping, with the bonus that it immunizes lawless telecom companies, too. Mr. Obama continues to be the exact type of nominee I predicted he’d be after 18 months of coverage of this man.
Glenn Greenwald:
The Democratic-led Congress this afternoon voted to put an end to the NSA spying scandal, as the Senate approved a bill — approved last week by the House — to immunize lawbreaking telecoms, terminate all pending lawsuits against them, and vest whole new warrantless eavesdropping powers in the President. The vote in favor of the new FISA bill was 69-28. Barack Obama joined every Senate Republican (and every House Republican other than one) by voting in favor of it, while his now-vanquished primary rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, voted against it. John McCain wasn’t present for any of the votes, but shared Obama’s support for the bill. The bill will now be sent to an extremely happy George Bush, who already announced that he enthusiastically supports it, and he will sign it into law very shortly.
What a pitiful collapse from the Democratic nominee. Of course, Obama will “work” to get the telecom immunity stripped from the bill, he says, but right now it’s in there. No doubt he’ll get the approval of Bill O’Reilly and all the wingnuts on this one, which no doubt was his purpose.
Clinton continues to prove what a leader she is and why when it comes to not having to simply show her strength by trying to gain approval from the right, she actually demonstrates it instead through action and purpose. It’s why she was my candidate and remains the leader I trust in the Democratic Party.
That Barack Obama voted with the Republicans should put to rest any idea whatsoever of his alleged “progressive” bonafides or his ability to stand up to knee jerk charges that inevitably come at Democrats. The fact that he likely voted the way he did in order not to be tagged as being “weak on national security” actually illustrates his vulnerabilities more than prove his strengths. Because you can’t posture that you’re strong on matters like these, you either are or you aren’t.
As an aside, it also proves that on Iraq, if Obama had been in the senate, he’d likely have voted for the AUMF, just like Hillary and all the other Democrats. But that’s moot now.
Hillary Clinton is not worried about being called weak, because she isn’t. Obama seemed to have to prove his strength by caving to wingnut talking points because he was afraid of being tagged “weak on national security.” The difference between them today was starkly drawn.

ON THE FISA AMENDMENTS ACT OF 2008
July 9, 2008
One of the great challenges before us as a nation is remaining steadfast in our fight against terrorism while preserving our commitment to the rule of law and individual liberty. As a senator from New York on September 11, I understand the importance of taking any and all necessary steps to protect our nation from those who would do us harm. I believe strongly that we must modernize our surveillance laws in order to provide intelligence professionals the tools needed to fight terrorism and make our country more secure. However, any surveillance program must contain safeguards to protect the rights of Americans against abuse, and to preserve clear lines of oversight and accountability over this administration. I applaud the efforts of my colleagues who negotiated this legislation, and I respect my colleagues who reached a different conclusion on today’s vote. I do so because this is a difficult issue. Nonetheless, I could not vote for the legislation in its current form.
The legislation would overhaul the law that governs the administration’s surveillance activities. Some of the legislation’s provisions place guidelines and restrictions on the operational details of the surveillance activities, others increase judicial and legislative oversight of those activities, and still others relate to immunity for telecommunications companies that participated in the administration’s surveillance activities.
While this legislation does strengthen oversight of the administration’s surveillance activities over previous drafts, in many respects, the oversight in the bill continues to come up short. For instance, while the bill nominally calls for increased oversight by the FISA Court, its ability to serve as a meaningful check on the President’s power is debatable. The clearest example of this is the limited power given to the FISA Court to review the government’s targeting and minimization procedures.
But the legislation has other significant shortcomings. The legislation also makes no meaningful change to the immunity provisions. There is little disagreement that the legislation effectively grants retroactive immunity to the telecommunications companies. In my judgment, immunity under these circumstances has the practical effect of shutting down a critical avenue for holding the administration accountable for its conduct. It is precisely why I have supported efforts in the Senate to strip the bill of these provisions, both today and during previous debates on this subject. Unfortunately, these efforts have been unsuccessful.
What is more, even as we considered this legislation, the administration refused to allow the overwhelming majority of Senators to examine the warrantless wiretapping program. This made it exceedingly difficult for those Senators who are not on the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees to assess the need for the operational details of the legislation, and whether greater protections are necessary. The same can be said for an assessment of the telecom immunity provisions. On an issue of such tremendous importance to our citizens – and in particular to New Yorkers – all Senators should have been entitled to receive briefings that would have enabled them to make an informed decision about the merits of this legislation. I cannot support this legislation when we know neither the nature of the surveillance activities authorized nor the role played by telecommunications companies granted immunity.
Congress must vigorously check and balance the president even in the face of dangerous enemies and at a time of war. That is what sets us apart. And that is what is vital to ensuring that any tool designed to protect us is used – and used within the law – for that purpose and that purpose alone. I believe my responsibility requires that I vote against this compromise, and I will continue to pursue reforms that will improve our ability to collect intelligence in our efforts to combat terror and to oversee that authority in Congress.

The same Internet-fueled power that led to historic gains in organizing and fundraising for Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is now providing a platform for fiery dissent in a most unlikely place: his own Web site.
Amid criticism from the left that he has eased toward the center on a number of issues in recent weeks, the presumptive Democratic nominee has angered some of his most ardent supporters while triggering something of an online mutiny.
Thousands are using MyBarackObama.com to angrily organize against him because of a changed position on terrorist-wiretap legislation that awaits Senate action as early as today.
The dispute has forced Obama to respond in ways never before seen in a presidential campaign, demonstrating the Internet’s growing role in the democratic process and the live-by-the-click, die-by-the-click potential it holds for politicians.
The controversy centers on modifications to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and the government’s quest to monitor suspected terrorists that civil libertarians worry could infringe on the privacy rights of others.
Obama had pledged earlier this year to oppose – even filibuster against – legislation that would immunize telecommunications companies against lawsuits that challenge cooperation with federal authorities in warrantless wiretapping.
But with that immunity now part of compromise legislation, Obama has softened his stance and suggested that he will back the bill.
At a Chicago news conference on June 25, he said the proposal was a “close call” for him.
“The underlying program itself actually is important and useful to American security,” he said. “I felt it was more important for me to go ahead and support this compromise.”
That same day, a group named “Senator Obama – Please Vote NO on Telecom Immunity – Get FISA Right” formed on his campaign’s social-networking Web site. Now with more than 22,000 members, it is the largest group on MyBarackObama.com.
The online group is flooded with messages of disappointment and disillusionment. Some threaten to ask that their campaign contributions be returned, while others suggest they will simply stay home this fall.
One man even said he had removed his Obama bumper sticker from his car.
“It’s the first, and only bumper sticker that I’ve ever put on a vehicle that I owned, so my disappointment felt personal and significant,” he wrote.
Others, meanwhile, are countering that Obama is simply being pragmatic, now that he is in the midst of a general-election campaign, and that a single issue should not be used to push supporters away.
“Some people in the group clearly are disillusioned,” said Jon Pincus, a consultant and social-networking author from the Seattle area deeply involved with the discussion. “A lot of people are saying, ‘Let’s see how real the rhetoric is.’ ”
Seeking to calm the online crowd, Obama has already written extensively about his changed position on his campaign Web site.
“I understand why some of you feel differently about the current bill, and I’m happy to take my lumps on this site and elsewhere,” he wrote. “I do promise to listen to your concerns, take them seriously, and seek to earn your ongoing support to change the country.”
Obama’s Senate office did not respond to a query on how busy the phone lines and e-mail inboxes have been in recent days.
His campaign says it appreciates all points of view on the topic.
“This campaign has an extraordinary group of committed supporters, and we greatly appreciate their willingness to share their time and ideas with us,” Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement. “We believe that an open dialogue is an important part of any campaign.”
Obama may have a higher standard in promise-keeping in large part because he has sold himself as a new kind of political leader, one who has pledged to be more honest and less calculating.
Now facing Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona in a general election, Obama has been criticized by some for moderating some of his views in an effort to attract independent voters.
Besides the FISA legislation, Obama has also offered more moderate views in recent weeks on gun-ownership rights and a death-penalty ruling by the Supreme Court.
He also expressed a willingness to “refine” his timeline for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, depending on the situation on the ground there.
Republicans, meanwhile, are pleased with the Democratic infighting and are trying to use the FISA debate to challenge Obama’s integrity.
“Barack Obama has made it increasingly difficult to take him at his word,” McCain senior policy adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin wrote to reporters earlier this week.
While campaigning Tuesday in Georgia, Obama disputed suggestions that he is moderating his positions.
“The people who say this haven’t apparently been listening to me,” he said.

I feel so sorry for you! I live in rural WV and NO ONE wants to even speak his name. During the primary election, I counted only four *61 yard signs in my county (2 of them were in the same yard! LOL!). He never earned his vote here and the voters will vote for McCain. I told this to Bill Clinton when I met him in May and the people will do this if Hillary isn’t atop of the Democrat ticket for POTUS. I was the Wayne County Coordinator for Hillary’s campaign. I made so many new friends throughout the county.

I wrote a letter to Hillary and Bill when I was in college and they CALLED ME. I almost dropped the phone; they couldn’t come and speak but Tipper and Gore did (my mother went to the same college and it was too republican for me but I loved it). I still remember the feeling of floating I had after that call

I met Bill when my father was dying. Senator Feinstein’s office arranged for my father to attend a rope-line reception. He was in a wheelchair at the time and quite weak, but he wanted to do it. So he and I got on an airplane and got there…oxygen tanks and all.
It was a rope-line, but when Bill got to my father he stopped and gave my father his full attention. (My father was neither rich nor famous btw). He listened, asked my father questions and then said, “It was a pleasure to meet you Sir.”
Brings tears to my eyes writing it today. It meant a great deal.

I also was able to speak to Hillary when she came to WV before the election. I have both of their autographs. I told Hillary that I would fight for her in WV and she replied to me “No, I’ll be fighting for you!”. Since that day, it has been that much more of a mission to do everything that I can to ensure that Hillary will be our President. Bill Clinton was so nice to the people that he met. Along with me, were the President of the Democrat Executive Committee, Wayne County Schools Superintendent, and the Principal of Wayne High School (the school that he spoke at). It was a great day that I will never forget!

That just goes to show how truly that the Clinton’s appreciate each and every voter. Hillary even responded to a man with Alzheimers Disease who was concerned for the care of his caregiver. She was great with him. I struck a cord with me because I cared for my grandmother for almost 5 years before she passed away from complications of Parkinsons Disease.

She had me at the words “abolish the un-funded mandate No Child Left Behind”.
If I had to come up with the 5 policies that I most supported Hillary, I would have to say:
1) Her education policy
2) Health care
3) Economy
4) Immigration reform
5) Gay rights include more than just marriage, and the fact that she helped table the FMA.
But I look at character too:
1) She does what she says she will do.
2) She admits what will take time to accomplish vs. what can be done immediately.
3) She has experience and knowledge about the issues.
4) Even though the idea of a war with Iraq was an unpleasant one, she voted based on the people she represented and the knowledge she had at the time (which as it turns out wasn’t as false as the media would like us to believe)
5) Trust. I trust her to command the troops, appoint competent Supreme Court judges, and work with foreign nations to keep us out of future wars.

Hello again you all, I have just been reading as you have been writing. I am one of the lucky ones. I have met both President and Senator Clinton several times. When we were stationed in Little Rock and he was governor I worked for Jerry Haynie, a man who helped start Kentucky Fried Chicken. He did a fund raiser for the college basketball team and then Governor and then Mrs Clinton came.They were so gratious. At one point Senator Clinton came into the kitchen and said she had enough of all the “fake” stuff and wanted some real talk and helped us “pull pig” and we talked about her daughter and our kids and the school situation etc. But the best story is one about President Clinton. He flew into Ramstien AFB in Germany. As usual there were bigshots lined up, and press, the whole bit waiting for him. He snuck? out the rear door of AF1 and into a working C130 hanger to talk to a bunch of young airman, shook their greasy hands, took their family’s addresses and phone numbers( this was during Bosnia) then went out and met the big shots. He never told the press where he was or what he had been doing. He also had a second flight crew and AF1 plane that flew ahead of him ( this was standard procedure) His crew would always ask if any airman need to get word home to family, or have family checked on. This was President Clinton’s instructions.

Gas in San Diego is well over $4.
It was 4.64 a week ago… regular grade, go up from there.
The reason I opted to drive my car and stay in a motel, versus driving my small RV (B Class) was the expense of gas. My car gets double the mileage, plus the campsites seemed some distance away… plus, if you’re not there to camp… the rv really isnt that much fun.

Breaking! DNC Deadline of this FRIDAY re Debt

Someone just confirmed that there is a DNC deadline of this Friday for wiping out Hillary’s campaign debt you guys.
If we don’t get this taken care of by then they’ll use this to pressure Hillary re keeping her name off the ballot in Denver. That means no real Roll Call vote!
NO WONDER BHO’s donors dragged their feet in helping to wipe out this debt. DAMMIT all they had to do is sit on their hands and the DNC would finish this off by ending all hope of an open and honest vote in Denver. It’s just like the revote in Michigan.
So here’s the deal – we need to GIVE UNTIL IT HURTS on Thursday and Friday. Take care of the last of that debt and tell Howard, Nancy and Donna (ESPECIALLY Donna!) go get stuffed.
there is going to have to be some kind of mass transit. Some of the major streets are being shut down. Even the bus lines don’t know what they can run yet. My husband said if I really wanted to go he would arrange parking for me at one of the grocery stores downtown. I honestly do not know where people can possibly park!
Regarding gas prices. If you have a WalMart Cash Card or Credit card—7 cents will start to be taken off the listed price. It is not taking effect in all store locations at the same time—but it should eventually be universal. Here, it is 3.89 (WalMart)…and I got it with my cash card for 3.82. Also I have noticed that Conoco-Phillip Stations are competing with these prices. Keep your eyes open and it they are in your area, shop around.
the only thing i can figure is after sunday there are no baseball games during convention week so they may contract out coors field parking and run a shuttle from there.

Yes. I almost bought my neighbor’s Roadtrek when he wanted to sell, but he changed his mind. He decided to hold onto it for several more years with the hope they someone will manufacture an RV with the Prius technology, hybrid.
Mine is a Provan Tiger GT poptop on a Chevy Astro chassis. They dont make the poptops anymore.

The Democratic-led Congress this afternoon voted to put an end to the NSA spying scandal, as the Senate approved a bill — approved last week by the House — to immunize lawbreaking telecoms, terminate all pending lawsuits against them, and vest whole new warrantless eavesdropping powers in the President. The vote in favor of the new FISA bill was 69-28. Barack Obama joined every Senate Republican (and every House Republican other than one) by voting in favor of it,
while his now-vanquished primary rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, voted against it. John McCain wasn’t present for any of the votes, but shared Obama’s support for the bill. The bill will now be sent to an extremely happy George Bush, who already announced that he enthusiastically supports it, and he will sign it into law very shortly.

I have never followed politics before, so I am not sure what “On the Cloture Motion” means. I see that Clinton voted Nay on the “On the Passage of the Bill” but Yea on the Cloture. I assume that this is normal…

She had a stable and consistent plan to withdrawal troops from Iraq for her entire campaign, and was endorsed by more generals than ANY candidate, Republican or Democrat.
She has voted against allowing the government to spy on its own citizens.
Hillary Clinton has fought hard for getting Healthcare to EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN.

Breaking! DNC Deadline of this FRIDAY re Debt

Someone just confirmed that there is a DNC deadline of this Friday for wiping out Hillary’s campaign debt you guys.
If we don’t get this taken care of by then they’ll use this to pressure Hillary re keeping her name off the ballot in Denver.
That means no real Roll Call vote!
NO WONDER BHO’s donors dragged their feet in helping to wipe out this debt. DAMMIT all they had to do is sit on their hands and the DNC would finish this off by ending all hope of an open and honest vote in Denver. It’s just like the revote in Michigan.
So here’s the deal – we need to GIVE UNTIL IT HURTS on Thursday and Friday. Take care of the last of that debt and tell Howard, Nancy and Donna (ESPECIALLY Donna!) go get stuffed.

I think that the best way to destroy HBO’s candidacy, and help Hillary get the nomination is to have Chancellor respond to this comment:
“The Brandenburg Gate is one of several possible sites, aides said, and the decision will not be influenced by Chancellor Merkel’s comments.”
Chancellor and President Bush are very close friends, so when Chancellor contacts Pres. Bush and says that HBO’s trip will break up our very important relationship with Germany, HBO will never receive the nomination.

Retiring Senator Clinton’s debt and what the DNC is up to

Many questions have arrived about what sort of “deadlines” the DNC is putting on Senator Clinton to retire her debt…or else? Before I make any comments about when to donate to what, let’s first review the “or else”. The reason the DNC is pressuring Senator Clinton on this matter at all is because DNC leaders actually believe that once Senator Clinton stops fundraising, everybody who has given to her will magically switch over and donate directly to the DNC. Unless the DNC issues an announcement but quick that they are going to hold a genuinely democratic convention (Senator Clinton’s name in nomination, roll call vote, no pressuring the superdelegates from on high, no insisting that Senator Clinton agree to refuse the nomination if she should be elected the nominee), I strongly doubt that too many of Senator Clinton’s supporters will fulfill this DNC fantasy. But the DNC needs to hang on to that fantasy – the one where they drive the winner of the popular vote in the primaries out of the convention and treat Clinton supporters like dirt, but still everybody just ups and gives them money regardless – because guess who has a tremendous debt problem: why, the DNC itself. The DNC is millions and millions of dollars in the hole, and is busily canceling all sorts of events in Denver and replacing them with fundraisers for itself (thereby causing severe economic hardship to the small business owners of Denver who were counting on income from the long scheduled but now canceled events, as well as to the beneficiaries of the canceled events such as down ticket Democrats).
I have no solid information about which particular “deadline” the DNC is now trying to foist on Senator Clinton in exchange for something that her campaign should never have had to negotiate in the first place. My best information remains that which I received from the Clinton campaign a while back, when they informed major fundraisers that they were making a big push to raise as much as possible to retire the primary debt by July 15.
If your main objective is to aid Senator Clinton the sooner you donate to retire her debt the better. But of course all this talk of deadlines is also a way of preventing people on budgets from making to other organizations, such as The Denver Group among others, who are working hard to try to save the Democratic Party from itself. Feel like you are in a double bind? That’s because you are, thanks to the ever delightful Dr. Dean who has failed miserably in his job as national party chair.
So now we all know how Senator Clinton probably felt so often when she dealt with the Democratic National Party this season: coerced, manipulated, and treated with contempt.
Under present circumstances everybody has to decide for herself or himself what s/he can and wants to give to whom when. I cannot and would not presume to tell autonomous adults what they should do. Analyze your finances. Maybe you can give something toward retiring Senator Clinton’s debt and toward one one other cause related to keeping the Democratic Party democratic. Certainly, do not put yourself in financial jeopardy whatever you do.
Troubled times, troubled waters.
Hey DNC: Take a lesson from the Senate!

The nice thing about actual votes with actual meaning is that, when they are public votes at least, they let you know straight up who stood for against something. Let’s take just one example: today’s Senate vote on the bill giving immunity to telecommunications companies who participated in illegal surveillance of U.S. citizens. I do not like the result of this vote, not one bit, but at least a vote was held and I can act accordingly with regard to supporting or not supporting the politicians who voted as they did. Check out the list and decide which of these folks you’d like to support.
Speaking just for myself, if I were not maxxed out to Senator Clinton for the primary, I would be rushing here, to donate to retire her debt and show support for the most powerful progressive politician in the country.

In response to some question I have been receiving:
With regard to Retire the Debt: I believe the reports circulating that Senator Clinton’s campaign has hit the halfway mark on the amount needed to retire her primary season debt. This means that if people work really hard on this over the next two weeks the entire task could be polished off. My recommendation: let’s use July 19th as a date to generate as many donations to retire the debt as possible. July 19 is the 160th anniversary of the First Women’s Rights Convention held at Seneca Falls. An event is being held at the National Park there to commemorate the date. A great group of Senator Clinton’s supporters are sponsoring all sorts of events related to this anniversary: learn more.
With regard to the Denver Group: We have begun to raise serious money via Act Blue. If you have not donated via that channel you can do so here, easily and securely. We are working double-step overtime to get the message out that the Democratic party must be kept democratic!
Bitter: The New Brave

Whatever the circumstances, the people who hold power use name-calling to undermine any resistance movement or its members. This political season those voters who support Senator Clinton have repeatedly been called bitter. Of course Senator Clinton’s supporters seem bitter in the literal sense of that word (harsh, unpleasant) to those who would like to hand Senator Obama the nomination on a platter. And naturally, Senator Clinton’s supporters do not seem at all bitter to me, as I find their views quite congenial.
But calling Clinton supporters bitter has never been about the literal meaning of that word. The word is used by Senator Obama’s supporters at least in part because of its sexist connotations (as in “bitter old woman”). Whether Senator Obama or his supporters use the word bitter as a deliberately sexist tactic is beside the point. In the context of describing Senator Clinton or her supporters, the word has the connotation regardless of the intention of the speaker.
Many Clinton supporters now use the word bitter to describe themselves, using a common strategy of resistance: those being attached adopt the word of their opponents and try to own it. Other examples include the adoption of the word “queer” by some lesbian/gay rights advocates or the now famous Tina Fey bit on SNL when she declared that bitches get things done.
To me though the word “bitter” will now forever have a personal meaning, a private connotation, if you will. When I hear bitter, I think brave. Brave because it is hard to speak truth to power, scary to attract nasty name-calling, risky to stick to your principles when friends, family, and co-workers (and sometimes bosses) pressure you to surrender them. It takes guts to stick to one’s commitment to Senator Clinton or to an authentically democratic Democratic National Convention. I am absolutely impressed that so many of the people I know displaying the necessary fortitude are people who are not protected by personal privilege or position. I am appalled at the lack of fortitude displayed by some who have these safeguards to fall back upon.

Officials Investigate 3 Alabama Counties in Voter Fraud Accusations

MARION, Ala. — Federal and state authorities are looking into accusations of voting fraud in three largely black counties of Alabama, including Perry and Lowndes Counties, which played a historic role in the struggle for black voting rights in the 1960s.
In May, a local citizens group gathered affidavits detailing several cases in which at least one Democratic county official paid citizens for their votes, or encouraged them to vote multiple times. The affidavits were presented to state officials in Montgomery, the capital, and after the June 3 primary, the Alabama attorney general, Troy King, a Republican, seized voting records from the primary election in Bullock, Lowndes and Perry Counties.
The United States Department of Justice posted a team of observers to monitor the primary, and the Alabama secretary of state, Beth Chapman, a Republican, reported hearing from one of the federal observers that a candidate had “free rein” of a polling place, where campaigning is prohibited, passing out sample ballots and instructing voters how to vote.

I personally believe that the dnc moved the deadline up because they fear that we all will raise enough money to give Hillary some advantage, and this is just a way to remove some leverage from her. The dnc is probably rebelling against all of us anyway. Just another strong-arm tactic they’re pulling. than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide de us out of the ashes.
A Hell of a Mess So here’s where we stand. We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan
for leaving. We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We’re losing the manufacturing edge to
Asia, while health care costs are slaughtering our once-great companies. Gas prices are sky rocketing, and nobody
in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble. Our borders are like sieves. The middle class is being
squeezed every which way these are times that cry out for leadership. But when you look around, you’ve got to ask:
‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character,
courage, conviction, omni potence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw
away our shampoo?
We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that
have already happened. Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to
spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane, or demanding accountability for the decisions that were
made in the crucial hours after the storm. Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t h appen again.
Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing.
Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How
did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it? Name me a government leader who can articulate
a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem.
The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our
democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That
some bone head on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?

Update on Obama and Berlin: A couple of posts here have said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel “will not allow Obama to give his speech at the Brandenburger Tor.” This is not accurate and the issue hasn’t been decided yet: there is a big debate going on here.
Germany has a coalition Government: Merkel is a member of the Christian Democratic Party; half of her Government ministers, including the very popular Foreign Minister Steinmeyer, are from the Social Democratic Party. Merkel is only “the first among equals; ” she can’t make decisions on her own. Merkel doesn’t want Obama to speak at the Brandenburger Tor because she says that Germany shouldn’t get involved in a U.S. political campaign. The Social Democrats, however, are CLAMORING for the speech.
The mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, is a Social Democrat and he is pushing for the speech. In fact, the whole first page of his website, which I just checked, is about Obama speaking in Berlin. I thought of having us write his office because most Germans understand English over here, but you need a German address and phone number (I’ll write). I’ll try to think of another good place to write, just so that we can try to do something. (If you’re all interested; are you interested in this? I can’t tell, I never hear back…) Believe me, Obama speaking at the BT would be a very powerful and very misleading image and it pains me to think it might happen (plus I’d have to see it day in and day out and I don’t think I can take it…..)

Harrumph. You know, back when Obama was only a Senator, he reminded us that foreign trips were generally a waste of time. (”I know what those trips are like! I’ve been on them. You go from the airport to the embassy. There’s a group of children who do native dance. You meet with the CIA station chief and the embassy and they give you a briefing. You go take a tour of a plant that [with] the assistance of USAID has started something. You notice she is saying how important it is to have a Democrat in the White House next year but she is not saying which Democrat- she is not naming him. Of course, it is implied but as we all know- not a done deal.

Gus will support and contribute to Obama as the party’s nominee, but he is not enthusiastic about it.
He is not alone. After the closed-door session in the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel’s ballroom, Gus was among 20 participants who gathered for drinks to talk it over. They agreed that it was not an “exciting performance” by the candidate who has entranced monster rallies across the country. Obama was “low-key” in a perfunctory appeal to them.
The Clintonites do not feel alienated, as supporters of Edward M. Kennedy did in 1980, when they never resigned themselves to Jimmy Carter’s renomination. None of these loyal Democrats talked about sitting out the general election campaign against John McCain or locking up their bank accounts. Since a donation does not indicate the benefactor’s degree of enthusiasm, what difference does it make if they’re not enthusiastic? It signals a lack of confidence by important Democrats in a candidate whose charisma is supposed to cancel out his inexperience.

The arrogance of “o” and company is appalling.
The SD’s are inviting a foreign policy nightmare by endorsing Senator Obama for President. Because obviously his advisors – presumably, these are the same people he will appoint to sensitive foreign policy positions such as Secretary of State – cannot shoot straight. Already he has engendered a ‘foreign policy’ deficit, with friend and foe alike (see AIPAC flip-flop); and he isn’t even the nominee.
Here are some excerpts from an article in the Boston Herald describing Chancellor Merkel’s disdain that Candidate Obama wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gate. As you read this, keep in mind, Germany has been one of our staunchest allies; and Senator Obama says we need to work more closely with our allies.

“Please convince Klaus Wowereit, mayor of Berlin, and the Social Democrats in the German Government that it would be outrageous to allow Barack Obama to hold a rally and give a speech at the Brandenburger Tor. This has been an honor reserved for U.S. Presidents, of both political parties, who had world-shaking points to make when they spoke near or at this historical spot. To symbolically equate Obama’s arrogant attempt to give himself unwarranted foreign policy credentials and push his own narrow political agenda with Kennedy’s stand against the Soviets and Reagan’s challenge to Gorbachev to “tear down this wall” would not only be a travesty, it would be an unwarranted meddling in the U.S. presidential election. I watched some of the news shows this morning while getting ready for work. Even checked in on Joe and CNN, which I normally don’t do anymore with the expectation that there would be fallout from Obama’s FISA vote.

Instead, he talked entirely about himself, said “good night” to the crowd, and began walking off stage with the music playing. Finally, his aides grabbed him, gave him back the mic, and he had to yell out, “Oh yea, wait. I got carried away and forgot to ask you to help give money to Senator Clinton’s campaign…”

Not to belabor the point but, I just read the other Brandenburg-related posts above and want to clarify. Whether the Mayor of Berlin allows the candidate to speak at the Brandenburg Gate located in his city, Senator Obama cannot come out of this looking good. Chancellor Merkel does not want him to speak there; and she is the elected head of the country. He might have gotten away with disrespecting Senator Clinton because she is a woman; but he will never survive a ‘dissing’ of the head of an allied country. And even though he will end up not going there, as the Herald article I linked above pointed out, merely proposing to stage a campaign event at this historical site has already cost Senator Obama points with the German Chancellor.

I have not had time to read all post getting ready to go to an appt…but I saw some of the live speech on Fox with Hillary talking and I am very concerned by some things….
I understand she HAS to do this stump crap for the Chosen One, but she said in her speech in one of the statements that since she “ended” her campaign” what the hell is that suppose to mean. So but I am so upset because for all the ppl out there that do not follow everything or believe what they hear – they will just fall in line cause they have nothing to go off of.

Rudy replies and this struck me funny the choice of his words – he said “That is not going to happen” then said “Well I do not want to speak for the Democratic Party but the last thing they would want is a fight on the floor when the nominee has already been “decided”.
Well excuse me Mr Rudy……”DECIDED” by who? The corrupt Democratic Party while sitting around a Kool-Aid Cooler……this makes me so frustrated.
This has been a “pony crap” morning and I do not know what to anymore besides what we are doing but if this stuff is getting uglier and uglier what is next. He says something no big deal….but all during her stuff he did plenty and I think we all remember that but is it enough?

Senator Obama’s vote to authorize and condone the current administration’s assault on the constitutional rights of American citizens is a transparent indication of an opportunistic shift to the center. He always claimed that he is a transcendental politician. So much for his convictions. He is clearly an opportunistic politician seeking votes and will do anything to curry favor. He is willing to learn Spanish language to get the votes of Latinos. The illusion that young Obama is an inspiring leader was a hoax the Kennedys propagated to re-take the democratic party from the Clintons. We are in for a rude shock about Obama’s opportunistic flip-flops on major issues such as the war in Iraq, the spy bill, Rev. Wright, the NAFTA issue,policy on alternatives to fossil fuels and a host of other issues. I think that his vote represents his arrogantly telling his ardent supporters in the left that they can either take his policies or leave it, but that he is moving to the middle in search of votes from the middle America. Obama knows that the left has nowhere else to go because they put all their bets on his basket. But American people have already seen his lack of convictions on any issue. His bold claim that he was against the war in Iraq all along is a lot of baloney. If he couldn’t vote against the wiretapping against American citizens, he would never have voted against the war resolution because he could never take the heat of a charge of lack of patriotism. His oratory is just a play of words with no convictions, and it is hard to see how he could ever pass for a transcendental president.

Just wrote a letter to the ambassador of Germany, but the email came right back saying it was an invalid address. If anyone has the correct one–please post it.
My family lived in Germany for several years when I was young–an Army post near a small village in the Bavarian region, and my memories are wonderful of that country. I am disgusted that he would strut presidentially around that country when he has not won the presidency yet–modesty would be more appealing to everyone.
Don’t lose heart Pumas. DNC and BO supporters are pushing back harder because we are making a difference. The last thing we want to do is give up now. You can say it’s getting ugly, or you can say it’s getting exciting. I choose the latter. It’s about time Americans woke up and started fighting back against powerful interests that want to marginalize the people because they think citizens don’t want to be bothered anymore. As I understand it if Hillarys debt is not paid off her name can not be placed on the roll call. That is none of the delegates will have a chance to vote for her.
By moving the date for payment up they are rigging the roll call. If we can’t pay this down by end of day Friday “o” is essentially un opposed at the convention.
That makes all the work PUMA and others have done useless as far as the convention is concerned.
A dirty trick. A complete and unabashed attempt to rig the convention.
For me it puts everything they have done in perspective. It’s not just “politics as usual”. It is far more than that.
The allegations of voter fraud and suppression that have been made but not proven now carry far more weight with me than they did before this newest dirty trick.
These are the people who want to control the White House.
I see them as tyrants and shudder to think what they would do if actually in power.

Yesterday, I laid out the very favorable environment for any Democrat running for President this year. I noted that the current Obama lead of 4-5% is very modest, given the structural advantages any Democrat would have in this year’s race.
But there is another way to look at the race: namely that absent some of the unique structural or environmental advantages that exist for Democrats this year, John McCain should be running away from Barack Obama.
While this may sound irrational to some, I believe the key to a McCain victory is to focus his campaign and the voting public on the two candidates themselves — their life stories, their experiences and accomplishments, their visions for the country, and their characters. If the election is decided on these factors, McCain should win.

Almost everyone is talking about Barack Obama’s flip-flops, as the Senate’s most liberal member steadily moves to the political center and disowns firebrands like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger.
But less noticed is that Obama is not just deflating John McCain’s efforts to hold him to his long liberal record, but also embracing much of the present agenda of an unpopular President Bush on a wide variety of fronts.
Take social issues. Obama is now a gun-rights advocate. Like Bush, he applauded the Supreme Court’s overturning of a Washington, D.C., ordinance banning the possession of handguns.
The senator, also like Bush, supports the death penalty. He recently objected to the court’s rejection of a state law that allowed for the execution of child rapists.
And although Obama is still pro-choice, he now, like the president, thinks “mental distress” should not justify late-term abortion.

- He says he believes in a Second Amendment right to bear arms.
- He now opposes late-term abortion.
- He suddenly is a devotee of using faith-based institutions to deliver public services.
- He now says that he won’t raise Social Security taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. In the primary, he said he’d eliminate the threshold entirely, including on people making as little as $100,000.
- He recently opposed the Fairness Doctrine for talk radio.
- Now he says he’s going to consult with the military before pulling out of Iraq.
But so extensive a list of flip-flops, all in the past few weeks, begs the basic question: Was he lying before when he was a liberal, or is he prevaricating now?
Even if Obama means what he is saying as he moves to the center trying to win the general election, the fact is that he will be forced to move very far to the left should he become president, forced by the liberals in his own party.
If Obama wins, it’s more than likely that he will take office with a Congress filled with Democrats and liberals. Most probably, the Senate will have at least 55 Democrats (including pickups in Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, New Hampshire and Alaska). And there might be as many as 62 (possible Democratic pickups include Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas and North Carolina). The House will, of course, be solidly in Democratic control.
Faced with the same situation in 1993, as he took office as president, Bill Clinton found no alternative but to move dramatically to the left, shelving for the moment his promises of a middle-class tax cut and welfare reform. He had no choice. The Democratic majorities in both Houses served him with notice: Either you stay within the caucus and not cross the aisle in search of support for centrist policies, or we will do unto you what we did to Jimmy Carter when Tip O’Neill turned on him and made his life miserable. Clinton was forced to emphasize healthcare reform over welfare changes and to go with a liberal economic stimulus package capped by big tax increases. The liberal stain sank so deeply into the fabric of his presidency that it caused him to lose Congress in 1994, and almost to lose the 1996 election.
It will be the same with Obama. On all of his basic issues, the Democrats in Congress will hold his feet to the fire and make him govern to the left. On his signature issue of Iraq, he may find himself with a war already won, a democracy already stable and a problem already solved. Nevertheless, he will be forced to rip the scab from the wound and set it bleeding again by bringing our troops home prematurely. His healthcare proposals will be forced far to the left until they amount to a government takeover of the healthcare system. Obama will not be able to govern from the center. His party won’t let him do it.
Ultimately, Bill Clinton’s congressional supporters became his jailers and he morphed from their leader into their hostage. Dependent on every last Democrat to pass legislation in the House and to prevail over a filibuster in the Senate, he found himself pushed further and further to the left until, he told me, “I don’t even recognize myself.” He had to lade his economic and anti-crime package with pork to satisfy urban congressmen and to win their support of a bill that included a federal death penalty.
Obama will not be able to help himself. The Democratic majority in Congress won’t settle for triangulation. They will make the Obama of November into a liar and the Obama of the primaries into an honest man.

I was wondering if you think it might be a good idea to send some letters of support to Jackson thanking him for honestly voicing a feeling that we all have been feeling about Obama on a variety of issues. With that debt yet to be paid off, some of Clinton’s supporters are balking at the idea of forking over donations for Obama — especially if he does not choose her to be his running mate.

Did any of you see on the news last night that one of the three events *61 went to yesterday was closed doors with his donors to encourage them to help pay off Hillary’s debt. They leaked part of the meeting to the press showing that the donors did not want to help pay off our girls debt. The panel on CNN discussed it and it was clear they thought it was a very stupid move for *61 team to expose that to Hillary’s supporters. The other two meetings were with Hillary. *61 and his followers are stepping into so much doodoo on a daily basis that they are making our job easier. What a team of morons.

I just telephoned the Asbury Park Press, a well known newspaper here in NJ and asked about a 3-line ad in the Classified section or under personals.
The person I spoke to said that a 3-line political ad would not go under personals and that he could not find a place for it…
But,
He did tell me that a 3-line ad for 4 days would run $85; and a 3-line ad for 10 days would run $140.
So that may give us some kind of idea on pricing.
Now to find the right newspaper ….

I called the DNC to get specifics, “John” was unable to help me, gave me the number to the DNCC (Democratic National Convention Committee) so I called there, got bounced around several times and then disconnected. Called back and just got a voice mail.

Sent my emails to the TX delegates and got a nasty response from a CHAVEZHD76@aol.com. Chavez threatened to report me to AOL. (Oooohhhhh, I’m scared!) My reply was the following:

What????
You no longer have to deal with daily confusion about your candidate. All of your speculation has been put to rest and all of your questions have been answered. Senator Obama has shown you exactly where he stands and that is with whomever and whatever can put him in the White House.
Barack Obama is not about:
principles;
advancing freedoms;
defending the Constitution;
bringing our troops home;
health care;
the economy;
paying down the deficit or;
balancing the budget.
This is all about Barack and his chance to “play” President.
Since he has become the presumptive Democrat nominee (by any means necessary), Barack has shown some disturbing patterns.
One that blasted the alarm bells off the richter scale, for me, was the “seal”. I remember wondering, “Is this man nuts?” Barack’s seal immediately reminded me of the huge, childlike clock that Flavor Flav wears around his neck. From this, and from watching him over time, I have concluded there has to be some underlying mental issue! What in the hell would move this guy, who hasn’t even won his party’s nomination, to create his own presidential seal? .
(Flavor Flav, is an African-American rapper, television star).
My next thought was “Damn! This guy’s behavior is so crazy he just might make this seal into some bling bling jewelry and wear it around his neck!”
Seriously, this is no way for a grown man to act especially one running for President of the United States.
Still scratching my head over the Flavor Flav presidential seal, I turned the tv on and there was Barack taking questions about a seeming change of his policy regarding troop withdrawal from Iraq. The interviewer asked him if he was backtracking on the 16 months timetable for removing our troops which had been a centerpiece of his campaign. The presumptive Democrat presidential nominee chuckled; scratched his head, and did all he could to keep from laughing out loud.
What came out of his mouth next was some kind of uh uh uh discombobulation.
To me, it was like he was saying:
“Damn. They got me.”
“Troops this, 16 months that.”
“Why won’t they ask me if I am conservative about my bubble gum?”
(holding back his laughter and still talking to himself)
“Oh shit! But don’t panic, Barack!”
” Just say anything! You can bamboozle your way out of this!”
I then began to understand why all the reversals and debate ducking! Candidate Barack is not concerned with the policies or issues important to the American people because he has NO interest in, or knowledge of them.
Why would Barack-With-His-Own-Flavor-Flav-Presidential-Seal be bothered with details about policy issues while he’s in the middle of a “race” to be President?
This is his “time,” remember? All you have to do is say “YES WE CAN” and that will make Barack turn into a president! Why are the American people interrupting his campaign by concerning themselves with the fact that he is unqualified; or how many times he flip flops; or that he agrees with Bush that the Constitution is just a G*d damned piece of paper?
This is Barack’s time! He is The One.
I started to recall the countless news articles and what so many talking heads had said about Obama supporters not caring about substance or issues; about how so many of them truly had good intentions and wanted to be a part of a real movement for change but Barack’s unprincipled campaign had turned them into duped, drinkers of the juice.
Today, I am proud to tell those writers and pundits they were wrong! The immediate, public outrage by Obama supporters against his vote for FISA and immunity for lawbreakers has given me HOPE!
Now, I really believe a change is coming! I believe the disaffected Obama supporters who love this country and understand the dangers of FISA will join The PUMA Movement which includes Independents, Conservatives, Democrats, and anyone who loves this country.
This is our time!
WE WILL UNITE and back Senator Clinton for the good of America.

#557 jenniforhillary… Many do not know (and I would have to dig to find it) but the democratic party has a “Pledge” for its members about their continued “democratic party affiliation” regarding pilitical support of a “nominee”.
In essence: Once a candidate has been named the “nominee” by the # of pledged delegates, if the other candidates do not “publicly endorse a “winning” candidate for office” they can be voted out of the Democratic Party.
That’s one of the “Party RULES” candidates must abide by in order to maintain their political party affiliation.
Hillary has no choice, but to “publicly endorse him”. That id why the convention and her name on the role call is so critical!
She has no choice, right now. But we do and delegates can cast or change their vote at the convention.
We need to stop complaining and allow her to play by their rules… and keep working toward the convention (gathering public support so that delegates (and the political leaders) of each state will think twice before casting their vote – on behalf of the constituents they represent.

FOX News and the WSJ are owned by Rupert Murdoch. He has endorsed *61. However, Murdoch has supported political candidates from different parties. In the past, he has backed both the conservative and labor candidates in Britain. Last year, he even held a fundraiser for Senator Clinton.
My guess is this is the reason that FOX is not hitting hard against the “chosen” one.

We joined PUMAPAC to defeat *61 and clean out the DP. This is bigger than any candidate. Senator Clinton has to campaign with *61 because she is part of the DP establishment. It doesn’t mean that she is selling out.

Hillary Clinton stood alongside Barack Obama at a women’s fundraising breakfast for the Obama Victory Fund. The minimum donation – $250. This after attending a $33,000/plate Manhattan dinner together the night before.
On her home turf, Clinton urged her supporters to get behind Barack Obama’s campaign. Republicans, as much as they should, she said, will not “go go gently into that good night.” She continued, “No matter how self evident it is to us that this is the man, this is the candidate, this is the one we should be voting for, working for and making our president – there are millions of your fellow Americans who aren’t there yet, so we have to really be engaged and that’s what I’m asking you to do.” Besides, she noted, Tthe Democratic Party is a family, you know, sometimes a dysfunctional family but it’s a family.”
The former candidate shared with the mostly female crowd a backstage moment. “Barack and I were talking before we came out before about the rigors of the campaign trail, which are many…Barack said, ‘You look kind of rested.’ I said, ‘Well ‘kind of’ is the right descriptor,’ but I’m actually, if you don’t tell anybody, trying to exercise a little bit, which I’m told does wonders for a person. Because during the campaign, you I’m sure read that Barack would get up faithfully every morning and go to the gym. I would get up and have my hair done. Just one of those Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire things that are part of our lives,” she joked as the crowd laughed.
For his part, Obama admitted he “desperately” needs both Hillary and Bill Clinton to be involved in this campaign. “If we are working together and all the women in this room are working together – there is no way we’re gonna lose in November. That I’m absolutely confident of,” he said.
As he has since he announced he was the presumptive Democratic nominee on the night of the final primary, Barack Obama praised Hillary Clinton – this time with a twist. Looking out at the sea of women, Obama said, “As someone who took the same historic journey as Senator Clinton – although I didn’t do it in heels – who shared the stage with her many times over these last 16 months, I know firsthand how tough she is, how passionate she is, and how committed she is to the causes that bring us here today.”
Obama continues with Thursday’s theme and will hold a town hall in Fairfax, Virginia, this afternoon geared towards women’s economic security.

The wording of the DNC’s response to your concerns could be “Exhibit A” in support of one of the goals of P.U.M.A. pac: responding to ‘the dishonesty of the DNC’ (to say nothing of the implicit sexism in assuming that as a woman, you must have based your objections to their conduct on your lack of information or understanding).
For all of you who are tempted to scrutinize the ‘rules’ to find explicit justification for such conduct as taking delegates away from Senator Clinton, in Michigan, and awarding these to Senator Obama; or awarding him delegates resulting from votes cast for “Uncommittted,” I assure you, no such mandate can be derived from DNC rules. However, the rules say, the DNC must allocate delegates according to a ‘fair reflection’ of the voters’ intent. When it comes to allocating delegates resulting from the voters’ vote in Michigan, the DNC, exercising its discretion, determined Michigan voters meant to give 4 of the delegates they voted to HRC, to BO, instead; and all of the delegates they voted to Uncommitted, to him. Explicitly, the RBC stated they based their delegate allocation in Michigan in part on the results of exit polling.

Now that FISA has passed, the biggest online community related to this site is now a thing of the past.

I made many posts, and I must apologize to the glassy eyed cheerleaders that dominate the Obama campaign.
I have been blogging to long. I keep forgetting that 90% of Obama supporters are basically consumers. They see a new product and they have to be part it, own it, make it part of themselves.
I forgot that 90% of all Obama supporters have no idea about issues, elections, polls, the constitution, history, the rule of law, the Democratic Party, or who we are fighting against.
If that 90% of the campaign had pushed as hard as we did, if they understood the gravity of FISA, we may have swayed Obama.
But instead when we posted, they yelled troll, we we pleaded the yelled hater, when we begged they yelled traitor.
Now we are in an awkward position. Those of us who are involved in the sustained progressive movement to elect more and better Democrats to all offices, now have to support a candidate, Obama, and at the same time work against our Congressmen and Senators that voted with Obama.
So, to all you glassy eyed cheerleaders infatuated with Obama and his eclipsing message of hope and change, read the fine print. He is like a new cellphone, better make sure your plan doesn’t rip you off when you least expect it.
I will vote for Obama, but now expect little if any change or hope.
But be warned Congressmen and Senators like Pelosi, Feinstein, Webb and others. There is a money bomb headed your way. Blue America will be recruiting and financing candidates to unseat you. Everyone of you.

They will not take your message when they answer the phone, the direct you to the Chairman’s office and you get a voice message. I have yet to talk to these bums in the last month. I also called the FL DNC and, duh, they didn’t know whether Hillary will have a roll call vote or not, then they directed me to the DNC. I will try again at 3pm but I don’t expect anything different. Maybe we should all fax again at 3pm.

Washington — Campaign officials say Republican John McCain raised more than $22 million in June for his presidential bid.
That’s McCain’s best month yet. He ends the month of June with nearly $27 million cash on hand, according to campaign officials.
Campaign manager Rick Davis said today that McCain and the national Republican Party together entered the month of July with about $95 million in the bank.
The money has given McCain the ability to outspend Democratic rival Barack Obama on television advertising in key battleground states, Davis says.
Obama has not yet revealed his June fundraising.

This is interesting from a May article. If I read correctly even things bought in her store for Senate re-election can go to the debt.
Clinton owed $10 million at the end of March, has made loans to her campaign totaling of $11.4 million thus far and will more than likely end the primary season significantly in the red.
Among her options is transferring that debt to her Senate campaign committee and paying it off with contributions to her 2012 re-election effort.

I agree with you Roxy. If millions send in pennies — that could still add up to a sizable sum. The point that I keep making (when I get requests for money from the DNC) is they will not get one penny from me until Hillary is at the top of the ticket. The person I spoke with cut me off about halfway and said not to say anything more that Hillary would definitely be on the first roll call. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. I guess we will wait to see what happens. I had a lot of the e-mails returned. Although for the amount I don’t think it was too bad. Well I’m ready for more. Everyone have a great PUMA day. Two things:
1. Got thru to d. national party at 2:02 CST, after 3 attempts and 30 rings and was passed to chrm mao-uh-scream’s vmail. So I left a message.
2. Before that, though I got a call from Vanessa Campbell, a TX delegate who was very mad and demanded that we stopped sending her emails as she is a *61 delegate and, as she proudly pronounced, she will be casting her vote for him. She claimed that we were invading on her work. I mentioned I was under the impression that as an elected delegate, she was actually obligated to be available to the rank and file voter as well as open to their positions and concerns. She seemed stumped by that response.
Like a mama puma on a good day, I was very protective of her feelings, and we ended up having a longish talk.
She entreated me to read *61′s books, saying, “You people (she used that term a lot) need to read things to learn who he is.” I immediately pointed out that he has admitted his books do not represent the truth regarding the autobiographical facts of his life. She did pause–for a nanosecond
–then went right on with her rant.
I finally got to mention that we wanted to make sure Sen. Clinton’s name is entered into the nomination; that we believe she has earned this. Vanessa actually acquiesced on this point.
She persisted in her assertion that we were dividing the party, and that the primary is over. I got to tell her that it won’t be over until the last vote is cast at the Convention; that party unity is probably going to depend a great deal on how that event goes. (Of course for me, the convention could have Hillary front stage for 4 days, if *61 is the nominee, he will still not get my vote.)

I called the 877 number, and spoke to Clayton…he told me that he couldn’t give me an answer on this subject, and that he would leave my comments for Howard Dean regarding a press release.
He also said that the 202 number is the main headquarters, and the 877 line is the “lowest on the totem pole” for donations, etc. so they wouldn’t necessarily have current info.
