This is to the people who try to mislead the public by telling you that Puma is a front for McCain. Puma is not affiliated with any candidate or candidate’s committee. We are the voice of the people. We are NOT Republicans we are people standing up to what we see as a corrupt process. Obama was preselected to be the chosen one; I joined after being told on May 31 just how little my vote really meant to the (un-democratic) Democratic Party. In Michigan we not only voted but we came out in droves to vote for Hillary. We did this even after being told by the DNC that our vote would mean nothing. Radio stations and Democratic leaders urged Obama and Edwards supporters to vote “uncommitted” as a sign of these candidates support.
Obama , set up as our nominee was decided by crooked caucuses, backroom deals and picking and choosing what states get to participate in their process. The decision not to count certain states was protested in over-whelming numbers on May 31st. We are not happy, we are not fooled, we are not voting for him and we are not getting over it. If you- like us are angered by a party’s candidate selection instead of rightful election, using un-democratic selective vote elimination. Also, heard an interesting theory about JJ sr’s remark about removing *61 cajones (if he could find them first)- seems the precious one was thinking that we white voters were feeling that precious was really pushing for blacks to rule & that we whites might be feeling a little ambivalent about that so jesse makes his “remarks & gestures” in front of a supposedly “dead” mic & not knowing the camera is on him - now how many cameras do you suppose the man has been in front of in his years? duh………anyway, the remarks were to reassure all of us “whiteys” that not all blacks are praising & supporting the anointed one - that there might be a little distention in the ranks….

OKAY! I have an update on the role call issue:
Just spoke with the DNC to a gentleman named Ryan in the call center.
He received word from his supervisor, Alex Pullum, that a new communication was handed down from “higher ups” approximately 3 hours ago.
Hillary Clinton will, in fact, be the first name on the role call, which is to occur on the first day of the convention.
He also said that there was confusion earlier in the day due to lack of communication from the “higher ups”.
But now, they are to communicate to callers that there will definately be a role call and Clinton’s name is first.
That’s It. I’ll take it that is the final word on the subject!

1.)Sent my emails to the Texas Delegates—10 minutes intervals. 4 bounced back and 2 said that their mailbox was full and 1 was an auto-reply that they were out of the office.
2.) Made the DNC call—-X3—unusual busy signal—one of those fast tones. Circuits could have been busy?
3.) Regarding the fall out of the JJ remarks–after thinking about it along with input from multiple analysis and then Tim Oliphant’s take regarding all of Barack’s issues on Hannity’s radio program this afternoon—in the long run Jackson is the won that will look bad and Barack will come out of this as “the victim.” JJ’s son did Barack’s work as far as smacking down this father’s remarks and refocusing the listener that of all people being a preacher, he should understand what Barack was saying regarding his Faith Based Initiatives in every community. In short, Barack is the winner in this. More so, he was not even involved in the fallout. The apologies came from the Jackson’s, received by Burton and Barack’s comments were announced by Burton.
4.) All of the above happening at the same time with the FISA vote. The comment thing over-powered the flip flop. Another shield of Teflon was there when needed.
5.) The FISA vote—some sources say this was a “direct order/suggestion” from the team in Chicago, i.e. Daley, etc. Also, the Repubs cannot use this against him when/if “Homeland Security” questions pop up. Pandering for the Repubs and that base.
6.) The Language statement—that, to me, got the most flack from the opposition and could be “baggage” down the road. That is my opinion and if you are blessed to be bi-lingual, I will be the first to say I am envious. Government, though, should not have any say in making it a mandate—suggestion, yes—government mandate, no.
7.) The happy faces this morning at the New York fundraiser—the “jokes” , the “give and takes”, etc—something—again this is my opinion is going on backstage. Hopefully what I feel with this is wrong, but be prepared for anything and it may be nothing at all.

#11 susie1945- you know, I was very suspicious when I watched that piece yesterday, Jesse Jackson has been around a long time, the guy he was speaking to was looking right into the camera, go watch it again, it looked completely staged to me.
This is part of Barry’s pattern. He has someone say something outrageous and then he can denounce what has been said. It started when that woman from his campaign called Hillary a monster.
There were others in between, I can’t remember now but I really think the Wesley Clark comments were part of this well scripted plan.
Not to mention how they pad the audience every time he speaks. I would not have know about the rock concert in Oregon if I didn’t blog. When I read that he had a group of 75K, I knew something wasn’t right. He isn’t the pope for gosh sakes.

Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined racist guilt. I am disappointed that the Senate voted 69-28 to pass the FISA Amendments Act, wh ich will deny American citizens the opportunity to seek justice in a court of law. In an effort to restore balance to this legislation and stand up for the rights of the American people, I proudly co-sponsored the Dodd-Feingold-Leahy ame ndment, which would have struck the section from the bill (Title II) that effectively grants immu nity and blocks the courts from ruling on the legality of this program. Unfortunately, the amendment was rejected 66-32.
I believe it is the re sponsibility of the Congress to provide every tool needed to track down terrorists and protect our citizens. I voted to go after al Q aeda and Osama Bin Laden, and I will continue to support measures to achieve that goal. But we have another responsibility of equal importance - and that is our duty to uphold the Constitution and the rights of our citizens, and this law fails to strike a balance between these important responsibilities.

Comments Ok everyone, here is some GREAT news!! PUMA PAC had sent out e-mails to call the DNC at 3 PM EST this afternoon and light up their switchboard with thousands and thousands of calls insisting that Hillary be on the first ballot for the Roll Call at the Convention. It was to be kept quite until after the calls were made. By the time they got to me and I started my spiel, they transfered me to the Chairman’s (Howard Dean) office and when they answered, I got one sentence out and they told me that Hillary would be on the first ballot of the Roll Call at the Convention and asked me to please spread the word and then THANKED me. WE HAVE WON THAT ROUND. Now we are working on getting 175 Delegates to switch and vote for Hillary and she will become our Nominee!!
The problem is they have now said she has to have her campaign debt paid off by tomorrow at midnight! Below is an e-mail I got from her and I donated the $50.00, but if you can’t donate that much, PLEASE, PLEASE GO AND DONATE WHAT YOU CAN FOR THE DEBT IS ALMOST PAID OFF!! Will Bower from Puma was on Fox at 4:10 PM CST and he said it was only about 5 million or a little under and he was calling on everyone in the Just Say No Deal Coalition to donate what they could to help her pay it off. I am now calling, no I’m begging for everyone on here between now and midnight Friday to please go and donate waht you can to help finish paying it off!! I called Hillary’s office and this is from Hillary and will go to her and NOT to Obama. He and the DNC can not touch it, so it is legit. PLEASE HELP HILLARY!!!

My husband is a pilot. He retired from the U.S.Marines after serving for 25 years with his last assignment flying the then president of the USA Lyndon Johnson.
He took up his second career as a commercial airline pilot for American Airlines and flew all over the world but especially in the USA. His disdain and disapproval of my inability to keep time zones and cities of the USA straight would make everybody laugh and reach for the second champagne.
I hope to get tomorrow’s actions up before you are ready to act on them, but if not, we will just carry on, and do the best we can.

WOOING BO-PPL HAVING BUYER’S REMORSE
Now that many BO supporters are upset about BO’s flip-flop & vote on FISA and many are complaining in BO’s own website and elsewhere in the Web, maybe we can discuss ways to “compassionately” invite them to join our “Say No to BO” movement, as well as ways to accommodate them here. We have a good opportunity now to recruit some of those on BO’s side that are having buyer’s remorse.
I was reading some posts in liberal/progressive websites yesterday (after the FISA vote) and some BO supporters are upset enough to say they are considering not voting for BO, and though they are reluctant to vote for McCain, some say they are now considering voting for Nader or another third party… or staying home in Nov.
I’ve also seen that some PUMAs here have gone over to BO’s website and “set up a blog” there. I don’t know much about how to do this since I haven’t been over there. I do think it’s important, if we post over there (or in other sites) that when we try to convince the BO people, or invite them to PUMA, to be gentle, kind; to not resort to “make-wrongs”, put-downs, accusations or “I told you so”, etc.

Can you elaborate a little more regarding AC’s request? As I have said earlier, I boycott CNN and really don’t like to filter through their webpage. I heard of “a picture” that was taken from their flight to NY and that she was in the front row of seats on the right side of his plane and that he was sitting either 2 rows back or on the second row on the left side. The press in the back were trying to “analyze” what it meant.

It seems like we’ve had quite an impact today.
If anyone is interested Cynthia McKinney, Presidential canidate of the Green Party had selected Rose Clemente to be her VP running mate. This is the first all female/all black ticket in US history. Quite exciting, to me at least, and worthy of consideration for my vote, assuming they get on the MA ballot.
Also, if anyone is interested, I have 4 e-mail accounts, all with diferent adaptations of my name.
Thus when I send mass e-mails, it appears to the recipients as though they are hearing from 4 different persons, with 4 similar messages.
Just a suggestion. Trying to maximize our impact.

She faced a lot of backlash when she became Chancellor but she didn’t back down from any of it. I have a lot of respect for her, even when I don’t agree with some of her policies.

By definition a “blog” is arranged by newest post on top. Don’t know what software you are using… but on WordPress the only way to arrange a sidebar is to use the CATEGORY tab when composing PAGES.
Look into a software called, TYPE PAD

“Judicial Watch, a conservative legal watchdog group, filed the report after The Washington Post reported that Obama received a discount on a mortgage for a Chicago home valued at $1.65 million. The complaints said the Illinois senator received a loan at the interest rate of 5.625 percent, which Judicial Watch says is lower than the standard rate of between 5.93 and 6 percent indicated by surveys.”
The complaint asks the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate whether the favorable rates constitute a prohibited “gift” under Senate rules.
“It appears that due to his position as a U.S. senator, Barack Obama received improper special treatment from Northern Trust resulting in an illicit ‘gift’ which has a value of almost $125,000 in interest savings,” wrote Judicial Watch President Thomas Fitton in a letter to the Ethics Committee.
The complaint also notes that Northern Trust employees have given $71,000 in donations to Obama’s campaigns.

The trouble with speculating that BO’s decision to announce no more interviews with the kids is emulating JFK is that it was Jackie that kept the kids off camera and JFK would wait until she was away from the White House to allow photographers to take photos of them. If you were saying he is using his young family as yet another positive campaign ploy to remind voters of JFK family, I agree.

I’ve been lurking for several weeks now, with occasionally posts. I have some thoughts on the Jesse Jackson thing that I have not seen expressed here. I find it interesting and intriguing that the majority feel it was all staged to provide cover for BO’s FISA vote, and there may indeed be a lot of truth in that. I would agree that JJ is clever enough to know how to play the mic game. However, I had a totally different take on it.
My first thoughts, on hearing the news, then upon viewing the tape, were:
1. He’s one jealous guy, he can’t resist taking a swipe at this pretender, after all the years he went up against that wall;
2. He’s a friend of Bill Clinton, as best I know, and I had a gut feeling (maybe it’s a guy thing) that he was taking a genuine poke at BO in solidarity with Bill… something about the “nuts” thing just seemed very genuine to me; and
3. If the above are true, it would not surprise me at all if he was trying to drive a wedge between BO and the true AA people who would never put up with being “talked down to.” I say “true AA people” because he doesn’t really share their heritage and experience of growing up black in urban America, which goes back to the old question of “is he black enough?” Please don’t interpret these comments the way the Obamaniacs do, because I am speaking strictly on an sociological level.
Anyway, just thought I’d share my male perspective on the male ego element of it. Carry on!

COSMETA–Lloyd Bentsen in reply to Dan Quayle during a debate. It was a slam dunk. Bentsen controlled the stage and that debate, but he gave himself even more of a “house hold” name when he said “Mr. Quayle, I knew President John Kennedy and had the pleasure and opportunity to work with him in the Senate. And Sir, you are NO John F. Kennedy.” Not the exact quote, but close. Bentsen was a Senator representing Texas for many years, VP Candidate with Dukakis, and served for a short time in Bill’s cabinet during the his first term–or was a Senior Advisor. I would need to research more about that. Highly respected man.

This is my take on the Jesse Jackson remark.
Jesse Jackson Jr. has an inside track into *61’s campaign. I believe it was Jr. that was behind all the intimidation and threats against the AA superdelegates that supported Senator Clinton. Remember Rep. John Lewis supported Hillary and called her family. However, many of them came under tremendous pressure to defect. Jr. has a lot of power in *61’s camp.
So there might be a generational divide among the older Jackson and younger Jackson. He always wants a part of the spotlight.
The bigger issue is we cannot take off our eyes on our goal to defeat *61. Let’s drive up his negatives. This is war!

I didn’t get home from work until now but I sent off my emails to the Texas Delegates (probably a little later than everyone else). I also wanted to comment that when sending these emails to a lot of people — I use the Blind Copy (bcc) option so that each person receiving the email can’t see who else the email was sent to.
I think this is a practice that we might want to encourage everyone to do. I address myself as the main recipient and then copy and paste all the addresses in the bcc box. If you use AOL — put a parenthesis around the beginning and end of the list to make it a blind copy.
Hope that suggestion helps.

1.) We had the morning breakfast of the 2–together in NY. The link to the NYT article and picture is downstairs.
2.) Some “fuss” is being made about photos taken on the plane last night in route to this mornings event. Fuss is a broad/vague term—let’s say some in the press are talking about it. Upthread a poster said that AC360 was asking for input about a photo of the 2–that it was a contest for viewer’s input if dialogue was added in the photo.
3.) I view the roll call in 2 ways as of now. That could change with developing news. When the roll call is taken, and she is–let’s say–less than 200 delegates shy (hypothetical here) and remember they said today in the phone calls that it was going to be done on the first night? ****PUMAS**** if I am wrong, correct me here—the VP call is going to be thrown around again. Also, 2-3 days of Unity onslaught, not counting the Unity show happening now with paying down her debt and appearing together–along with Caroline Kennedy.
Reagan did not have a VP officially selected until that Convention started back in 1980 and it went back and forth until Bush was finally asked before the roll call. Just a hunch and I don’t even like to speculate on this one, but the VP drama is not over.

Nominating Hillary first is classic stagecraft. As a former rock band performer, I can tell you that “opening” for the main act is a “warm-up” position. In presentation, you want to save your best for last. This is their way of “getting it over with.” Put her out there first, let the long demonstrations of support go on and let everyone get it out of their systems. Then when the vote falls short of a win, as they predict, they bring out the big guns for the overwhelming finale. This gives her “her moment,” her historic nomination vote, then they bring down the curtain. They won’t try to make her look bad. They are confident she can’t win and that he has it locked up.
The only shock possible at this point, with so many pledged delegates in his favor, is the unpredictable element of the Super Delegates. If between now and then we are able to persuade enough SD to vote for her, it may deprive him of a first-ballot victory. At that point, all hell can break loose! That’s what we are aiming for! After the first ballot, if he fails to reach the winning number, the delegates are free to caucus again, as I understand it.
The most frustrating thing, so far, is the likelihood that she will not be actually campaigning for herself. We all hope that BO will have a Gary Hart or Howard Dean style meltdown before the Convention so she can pick up the torch! But it’s unlikely she will reactivate her campaign unless and until he implodes on his own. Otherwise, she’s the divisive one.
And the Republicans aren’t going to release the heavy artillery until they are sure who they are running against, so it’s up to the Democrats and Independents to make it happen.

I saw her give a talk at a book signing in NYC not long ago for her latest book (forget what it’s called, obviously I DIDN’T buy it). She proudly announced she loved Barak Obama and no longer liked John McCain, who she formerly supported/might have even worked for him if I remember correctly (Maybe he rejected her pass at him - she used to love him too). She also mentioned that on NY primary day one of her staff, who’s a Hillary supporter, wanted to go vote, but Arianna tried to keep her at the office as long as possible, hoping she wouldn’t make it to the polling place in time. (The staff member finally escaped and did vote).
But to make a long story short, after I saw her at the talk, I googled her to get more information about her life, etc. and came across an article that described her life - how she married a very rich Republican politician, had 2 daughters with him, then they divorced after he announced he was gay. Yep. I kid you not. Anyway, she got tons of $$’s out of the deal. The article described Arianna, who’s Greek, as “the most upwardly mobile Greek since Icarus.” LOL.
A few nights later I saw her on Bill Maher. (Apparently, she dated Bill Maher for a while). It was quite humorous how she flirted shamelessly with Gary Shandling (another guest that night) while ignoring poor Phil Donahue, the third guest on the show, to the point where Phil even commented on “feeling left out,” or some such thing. Looked to me like she was trying to get Bill M. jealous. To his credit, Bill M. just looked amused by the whole embarrassingly silly scene.

Good evening Puma’s. This morning I turned on the news as “usual” and watched Hillary speak at the womens breakfast with Dumb A… once again about unity.!!! And later I watched c-span as the senate voted on Petraeus. I watched Hillary walk onto the floor for roll call.
I noticed right away she was still wearing the same suit from earlier at the breakfast with Dumb.A……..And as I watched the vote unfold, I noticed that no one seemed to be talking to Hillary. Then Biden pulled her aside, and they proceeded to engage in an intense conversation. Of course I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but body language seemed to be kind of intense.
He kept her there for a long while. It is just a feeling on my part, (no facts) but I felt she was being drilled.
She even wiped her eye right before they parted ways. The whole scene made me feel sick inside.
I just can’t STAND TO SEE PEOPLE TREATING HER BADLY.
And, I just can’t STAND watching her with DUMB A…..
It gets right under my skin, and all along I can see him fliping her off in one of his speeches. I hope the SOB fails miserably!!! I know my language is bea tonight, but I am really frustrated !! THE AUDACITY OF BHO.

When it comes to allocating delegates resulting from the voters’ vote in Michigan, the DNC, exercising its discretion, determined Michigan voters meant to give 4 of the delegates they voted to HRC, to BO, instead; and all of the delegates they voted to Uncommitted, to him. Explicitly, the RBC stated they based their delegate allocation in Michigan in part on the results of exit polling.

I don’t know if it’s jealousy as much as, a resentfulness to his youth and inexperience… of claiming to be for civil rights when he did not come out of that era. So I think its a matter of age difference and of generation gap…. the past vs the future… A conflict on where each of them wants to take this country.
When I listened to JJ’s response it seems like he wants to place more of the burden on goverment whereas BHO’s father’s day speech is placing the blame on the individual black person.
I think they are both right in their own way… but which one wins out is another story. Either way, something must have happened behind the scenes that we are not aware of… Like BHO’s people telling JJ and Al Sharpton and Rev Wright to shut the !@#$ up until their man gets in.
Bottom line is… I think JJ and others are getting impatient of having to tow the BHO line…. basically because he is throwing them all under the bus for the sake of getting the whitie vote… and they don’t like that.
To make that clearer… they are now finding out about the real BHO and a split among blacks is starting to creep in.

I heard on FOX tonight someone critiquing the way the JJ incident was handled (think the guy was Bernie Kornberg or something like that, he’s a media guy of some sort anyway). He said they shouldn’t have “cut off” part of the scene. He didn’t say what was in the part, etc., and the anchor, think it was Bill O. admitted that part of it was cut off.

I agree with you. I called 3 times today and got diff answers all during this time when they said things were changed. The last person I talked to in length said he guaranteed me that she would be on the role call and everything ppl have heard to the contrary was incorrect.
I pressed and pressed and suggested that BeanieHead to a press release, appearance, media ticker something to let ppl know for sure. Asked if he planned on doing that and the guy said there was no information on that at this time.

I think the beef between JJ and BO is an ideological one. Jesse comes from a different era, granted, but he’s been in the trenches a lot longer than BO has and I think he realizes that no matter how “responsible” young Black men are the deck is still stacked against many of them in some powerful, difficult-to-overcome ways. They do need government involvement and programs to help them out of some of the desperate situations they’re in, i.e. the temptation of gangs, dangerous, crimer-riddled inner cities, poor educational opportunities in many school environments, no support from families and/or communities, etc. Of course, all the govt programs in the world won’t help without some major element of personal responsibility, so I think both approaches are necessary….
Yet, Obama is a rather recent passenger on the Bill Cosby bus and I think he just hopped aboard a couple of days ago, for one simple reason: political expediency. Maybe he’s trying to win back those “typical White women, like his grandmother, or a certain generation…..”
Also, if you were a Jesse Jackson, or a John Lewis, or any other political activist from the 50’s, 60’s and beyond and you ACTUALLY knew Martin Luther King, marched alongside him, like Jesse and John Lewis did and maybe even got your head bashed in more times than not, wouldn’t you go flippin’ wild to hear Golden Boy compared to MLK, Robert Kennedy or any of those other greats from that era? I think I might want to do the same thing Jesse blurted out if I’d been there and saw that self-serving, smug, pompous a$$ gloating with self-satisfaction and such phoney, staged fake modesty when people exhalt him like he even deserves to carry MLKs or RFKs dirty socks. … yes, but, even if Chairman Dean refuses to accept HRC’s name into nomination, under Section VIII, p.17, delegates may vote for anyone, whether the DNC chair has received that name in nomination or, approved her nomination.
Can you imagine what would happen if Howard Dean decides the only way BO can avoid total humiliation is to keep HRC off the ballot; and then having her delegates vote for her, anyway, in the roll? Their votes would be recorded as “Present,” making an election on the first ballot virtually impossible for BO, anyway. Between a rock and a hard place.
That’s why I recommend issuing a press release confirming the DNC’s statement to PUMA Pac that HRC would be on the ballot.

Hi Dances, I sent the 4 letters out, talked to my colleague about our movement, and he checked out our website, also gave him link to NoQuarter. He is a guns and values voter, but I wanted to let him know about my political activities, since he has been there for the past few years, way back when I printed a Hillary flyer and put it up in my office. He asked me at that time “do you really think she has a chance if she runs?” I told him damn straight she has a great chance, she is ahead of McCain in the polling (pollingreport.com) I started watching those polls in ‘04. Last month, I gave him the link to “I won’t miss the misogyny” article, and now he sees what has come out of it. First we despaired, and then we got depressed, and then we got angry, and now we’ve become activists.
I know there are people on our side. They may not share our political bent, but they understand and are for us, and not the other guys. We are sincere, and we have a cause, and we will fight. Together we can accomplish anything we set out to do. I do not think we will make much headway into the entrenched and corrupt Democratic Party leadership. But we certainly must make our voices heard. I feel we should start a new Political Party, the Centrist Party that welcomes the Center, and those just to the left or the right. Balance. Integrity. Principles.

Hannity and Cholmes play good cop, bad cop. All throughout the Primary season, every show Hannity did was about BHO, Wright, Ayers etc…. but as soon as he got the nod, Hannity has quieted down on those BHO issues. Since some others have brought up the VP thing for Hillary, I have to admit that the vibe I am getting is that the push to get her debt paid off is so that she won’t be vulnerable to right wing attacks about being in debt and so not a good VP choice for Mr. Magic.
For some reason, that doesn’t make sense to me, there are so many hillraisers that want her to get the VP position if not top position they could afford to pay off her debt in a second by not purchasing a few pair of shoes that month. I have a feeling that it is politics behind the scenes between the two camps with the sinister DNC in the background.
At least the DNC could not call people for donations during those 30 minutes.

I read this somewhere back during the primaries..may explain a few things. Hillary was putting money in her GE fund and running up debts in primary because of using smaller contributers for primary. Meanwhile bo was spending most of money on primary to win so his GE is smaller. kind of like ant and grasshopper. So now his donors are maxed out and he doesn’t have the money in his GE fund he should have. So where does he expect it to come from….????

In terms of nasty letters back from superd’s today, or any other nasty mail from DNC, etc. I suggest we save them up and/or forward copies to Bill O’Reilly with comments such as “this is an example of the party “unity” dems are talking about. This is how “together” and unified the party is. One side is protesting and the other side is resorting to lovely personal attacks and taunts in return. This is an example of the Democratic Party of Obama, Dean et al. Can’t even behave with any kind of civility towards members of its own party, how in heaven’s name will it EVER reach across the isle and get anything done after a general election?!!!

I always listen to this song called Fine Again. It talks about this guy who tries really hard to get something and how everyone calls him a liar and tells him to quit and that its over and then hes gonna come back one day and give it to them.
Dances…you make a good point. Venting might have some value, but brainstorming and then taking action is what makes a difference.
While this might seem toxic and chaotic at times, good ideas come from a free flow of ideas. Every once in awhile the reins need to be pulled up a bit.

I hear ya! With the exception of the fact that it was Jesse Jackson that started BHO’s career when he started as state senator. JJ has been backing BHO all along and that’s what’s so puzzling. Something must have happened.
I just think that when BHO does speeches on social issues…. well to me, that is *NOT* something a president or a potential president should do… BECAUSE, he is setting himself up as priestly-king. IOW, I see BHO as giving religious speeches, when he ought to be running as a political leader.
I think the idealogical tensions might be stemming from that kind of difference. Sill…. it’s just a guess.

Just a thought on the identity of new posters on this blog… On other blogs, the posters hired by Senator Obama’s campaign to infiltrate pro-Hillary sites tracked their posts for the purpose of getting paid, by using names that were followed by payroll identifying numbers, usually four.

The conversation between Senator Clinton and Biden appears to be indepth, I come away with a different take. The two had a lengthy conversation,about what we don’t know. I don’t know of anything that would indicate a collusion between the GOP and the DNC.
The GOP acted in their best political interest. They , quite rightly, did not want to go against Hillary in the general.
It may look like collusion since the GOP and the DNC had the same goal, an “O” nomination but, to say there was collusion would need some pretty powerful proof.

I agree the Democrats have carried on an all-out campaign to eliminate Hillary in the most vile and UN-democratic way, but I can’t see that the Republicans are part of this plot. Sorry, the Dems have to take credit for this one all on their own, in my mind. If anything, I think Repubs been quite sympathetic to her. If you remember John McCan basically praised her and expressed his admiration and respect for her throughout the campaign, particularly once it was clear what a rotten deal she was getting. So, this one can’t be pinned on Republicans. If anything they’ve quite shocked me with their fairness and decency in representing Hillary over all. The Dems deserve credit for this all on their own.
However, I do think the Repubs certainly have been responsible for some pretty dirty deeds in the past and recent past that no one should have let stand. Even though it’s not “our” deal if we are Dems, I still think it hurts everyone when one party or the other corrupts the system. We all suffer and end up with really poor choices, so to me, it would be wonderful if people kept a careful eye on what’s going on and objected to dirty dealings regardless of which side was responsible….
In the end, then, we’d have the best of the best on either side battling it out as fairly and squarely as is possible, and, as in any true democracy the victor would be most representative of the whole country’s views. Seems whenever this has been the case, good things have happened. Whenever the system has been “played,” manipulated, etc., bad things have happened….
Just my humble opinion…

Personally, I think the main reason Hillary was so opposed by the DNC was because she was willing to work across the aisle. Less into “them against us” than the DNC likes. Same with McCain. The evangalicals dislike his reaching across the aisle.

CNN pisses me off so much I want to scream. I thought I’d switch over to see what kind of things they are reporting and if they are showing any signs of changing their ways.
Nope… it was too much to expect of CNN.
They just did a report on people across America and who they are voting for. They showed this woman and man who the interviewer (in the voice over) states: “These people are long term Democrats but what is scary is this year they will be voting Republican.” I think to myself — “Oh good — maybe CNN is going to have someone who will express some intelligent reasons why they aren’t picking Obama. This is too good to be true.”
Well — I was quickly led down a road of disappointment — because CNN picked two people to state the most racist of reasons why they don’t like Obama. The woman says, “I just can’t vote for a Muslim.” The announcer’s voice over states, “Just for the record, he’s not a muslim — he’s a christian.” Then the microphone is held towards the man and he says, “I can’t vote for a black man. The only black man I’ve ever seen with change was holding a cup.”
Damn. I hate CNN. I am sooooo mad. This is who CNN picked to represent the crowd of Dems voting Republican. How many people did they have to edit out of the report before they found those two? I switched back to FOX. It seems more like home to me.

I’m not planning to be tricked into donating a dime to the Obama camp. I don’t care what the carrot is that is dangled in front of me.
RE: petitions. There are probably other people like me who don’t sign because we don’t want to give out personal information (including email). I do not want to open free email accounts at AOL, Google, Yahoo, etc. since I don’t trust any of these organizations anymore. Besides which it is hard for me to keep track of multiple accounts. And giving false information is concerning to me also - there are ways to identify where the false information came from. I just don’t feel comfortable doing things like that.
On 07/04/2008 I received a death threat via email. I think that it is hoax and I reported it via cyber crimes, but it was still rather disconcerting to receive such a thing. I didn’t have a very good holiday weekend.

Obama is all about marketing. So I always take those kind of articles as a desperate attempt to paint a happy face on a problem that is anything but happy. He’s going to fail big come November. I got lucky and one of our Puma Family offered me a place to stay at her daughters, if things don’t work out tho, I do love to camp and the cherry creek campground is just lovely, a lake, walking trails etc. It is 8 dollars a night I believe. If we camp we should all stay together, We need to watch out for one another, we are a family like that.

I reported it to cyber crimes. A “hoax” is someone who spreads a rumor that isn’t really true or says something that they really don’t mean. In this case, I think that whomever is doing this is trying to extort money by making threats that they don’t really mean to carry out (hoax). That is what I am counting on anyway (that it is just all talk/threat with no real intention of following up on the threat). So I reported it. Still, it was unnerving to get such a hateful piece of email.
OK, Pumas, I did all the action posts today, but I do have an issue.
I get on late since I am on the West Coast and I feel like that is when those that wear the tin-foil hats crawl from the woodwork.
That IS the deal with BO being not having a valid BC?? I DO not want to be associated with a group that believes BO is a muslim or is not a real citizen.
I joined this site to have INTELLIGENT dialogue and to support Hillary and to work to get her her DESERVED nomination. I do not think the smears, lies and conspiracy theories get us many supporters.

i also usually can only get on at night and while i understand the point of most of the “work” getting done during the day,to me the point might not be if he is a muslim but the fact that he would lie about it if he was. I think that is what someone would be getting at if they brought that up. i don’t know , i’m just using that as an example. anyway, i’m always up for intelligent dialogue but keep in mind that as it gets late people are tired and sometimes just want to chat.
also, the person who had the birth certificate petition site up did receive threats and i think that is a valid thing to discuss. why threats if there’s nothing to it? i can see why some are very concerned about this.

I understand your concern about keeping our dialog smear-free. And I agree that we should do exactly that.
That said, I personally have some concerns over BOs belief system and that includes questions about his religious ties, both with Wright and with the Muslim community. I do not say these things to smear him - I really do have legitimate concerns over these issues.
I remember many months ago news reports about how there were passport breaches against all 3 of the candidates (McCain, Clinton, and BO). Now there is some concern over BO’s birth certificate. This raises questions in my mind that I would simply like to see some answers to. I think others who are pushing on the birth certificate issue feel the same way. This is in no way meant to smear anyone.

I have a suggestion, may be way off, but I know the Dixie Chick’s song “Not ready to Make Nice” has been used for some Hillary videos on YouTube, after the big fuss over their ‘not so free freedom of speech…they might be willing to do a fund raiser for Hillary. Couldn’t hurt to check. Just a thought, but I know they don’t like the current pres any more than I do. And I’m also sure they wouldn’t be happy with FISA.

you’re right and i am determined to get the word out. i personally know several people who didn’t know all the facts and they are appalled and now want something done about this fiasco. it’s funny, my mom calls me whenever someone like will bowers or murphy is on tv and says one of your pumas is on. now her and my dad are both getting involved, they are elderly so they can’t physically do much but they watch tv and keep me informed and make sure i know of any breaking news.
Regarding the flip flopping and the FISA bill…
These things are troublesome and would damage any ‘typical’ politician. I remain concerned that BO continues to get free passes on EVERYTHING he does. Through his actions, he has shown us that his idea of ‘change’ is that he can do anything he wants and get away with it.
That his supporters cannot see this is beyond me. That he can continue to get endorsements from political colleagues is the very thing that leads me to wonder just how far-reaching this propaganda machine stretches. What leverage can he possibly have over everyone who has endorsed him? Promises of money and power? Blackmail material? Threats against their lives? What????
And that Hollywood has gone all goo-goo over him - I just remain astounded. Do they really think that if he comes to power that one of his first acts won’t be to censor their business? Let anyone try making a film about the 2008 election similar to the one just released about the 2000 election. Won’t happen. He has already voted to suppress our freedom of speech by allowing big brother to wire tap at will and with impunity. Extreme censorship and a government that wields its iron fist against its constituency is on its way as his coup progresses.
When does everyone wake up from the Kool-Aid stupor? Why don’t his supporters see what is clear to so many of the rest of us? Why do they insist on supporting someone who will turn around and betray them? That they cannot see these things astounds me daily.

I am wondering about the same thing. Why are these people so blind, and won’t stop to see the big picture? I usually refer to HBOs supporters as: “insane people”. They are so blind by the beautiful words from him and his charm, that they are ignoring everything else.
My oldest nephew lives in NY, and just before the primaries he talked his dad into voting for HBO. I was really pissed o**. So, now I’m thrilled because it looks like he will move to CA to live with us, and then will not be able to vote in November. I hope that I am right.
PUMAs, I want to share this with you, so please don’t laugh at me. I feel very embarrassed.
I went to a 4th of July fair to help with get people to register to vote for McCain in November. After the first about 30 minutes, I got up on my feet, and started approaching people randomly and telling them about our upcoming events. I was so excited about it that I didn’t recognize other volunteers until they came really close to the tent (including my uncle who was there to protect me–I’m 27, but we protect everybody including my oldest cousin and my sister). So, I approached one man, gave him a little information card, and told him about our upcoming events and gave him our little information card. He talked to one of the other girls for a few minutes, then walked back to me, and she told me that he was one of the candidates. I feel so stupid about it.
It’s NOT funny. 
Tomorrow we have another major event and I am very excited, but I am also afraid that I’ll run into him because I treated him like another potential voter.

I keep wondering about the media - I know that they have been the propaganda machinery for the government for many years now. But IMO, this has now officially gone to far - they have officially stepped over the line so to speak.
Now we find ourselves in the middle of an all-out war between the different political factions and their supporters. And of course every group is convinced that they are right. Every group’s position appears to be immovable.
I watch people still arguing two-party politics. And in the light of today’s reality, this seems almost ludicrous to me. With the advent of BO, it appears to me that a coup is in progress and that this coup will eliminate all but one party and that would be the party of BO and his supporters. If this is really what is going on, then Rep vs Dem vs Green vs Indep becomes irrelevant. If this is really what is going on, then there are really only two sides and these sides have nothing to do with party affiliation. The two sides are BO and NOBO.
I could be all wrong. So I stay tuned, watching the events as they continue to unfold. Because I really think that the play has only just begun.

I’m sorry, but I am loosing my memory ( I’m not kidding). My uncle laughed at me a couple of days ago. We came home from grocery store, and I asked my aunt where’s my son? My uncle looked at me as if I am insane and said: “What’s wrong with your memory”? I asked her the same question a couple of minutes ago. It’s very painful. I remember some stuff, but a lot of information is gone.
It’s really weird because I can be dialing my phone number of my uncle’s cell phone, and I called him like 5 minutes ago, and all of a sudden I don’t remember the number. It’s gone, and I have to look in the phone book to find it. Sometimes, I am getting ready to call somebody who I talked to yesterday or something, and I don’t remember the number either. I am only 27 and I have no idea why it’s happening.
Any doctors here? Please help. I need an advice.

Everyone forgets things. It’s called [I]being spacey[/I] when you’re young. It usually happens more when you have a lot of things in your head and in a situation with a lot of stimuli or things to deal with. In my case, I was actually more “spacey” or forgetful when I was younger and got better as I got older. Maybe it also comes with being an artist-type. You’re probably a very creative person. I wouldn’t worry about it!

Actually, my B.S. degree is in Public Relations, and I tried to design some ads during Hillary’s campaign to put in the news papers, but I don’t think of myself as very creative because I can’t draw. I can only tell somebody how I imagine things and draw stick people. I really LIKE to design flyers, brochures, ads, write letters, but it’s really not that great.
I am in europe, not in germany, but from I know, the information that is recieved about the chosen is incomplete, on one hand we have the idealist, that out of good will think that the boy would be a good choice
but on the other hand there is an underlying feeling “of antiamericanism obsession” that would love to see the USA world power and institution fall apart, they also see the boy as a good choice
I think that americans must have clear in ther minds, that the institution of the goverment could be vulnerable too, with enough sofistication could be hurt

WOW! You are amazing. I have to admit that since September of 2005 I had to stay up very late to study; sometimes I stayed up all night.
Oooppss. I guess it showed. Now, I do it out of habit. Ever since I was little I had hard time falling asleep, but I tend to sleep very late ( I don’t work, so I can sleep until 10:00a.m.) At night I fall asleep for a couple of hours, and then can’t sleep for a long time.

…And actually (chuckle), I’m a man. I know there are not too many of my gender on here, but I am honored to be one of those proud and few.
Got home late tonight from work and there was a message from a neighbor of mine who invited me to an Obama meeting at her home next week- a national community organizer will be in town and even though she knew I had been (and still am for Hillary) as evidenced by my multitude of bumper stickers and yard signs, she still thought to reach out and invite me - she was quite respectful but wondered if I may be open to listen to another point of view.
I find I am increasingly being criticized for not jumping on the the BO bandwagon and accused of treason for the Democratic party etc. etc. I “should” be voting for Obama unless I want a third George Bush term, yadda yadda yaddda - I should not stay home, I should not vote for McCain.
Well, I have news for all my colleagues, friends and others - the 11th Commandmant is “Thou Shall Not Should on Thyself”….I will not do something because someone says I should - everytime I have gone against my gut in my life, the choice has been wrong. And my gut tells me Obama is really bad news, and we have a litany of evidence to prove it….but teflon man still keeps dusting himself off and moving forward.
Anyway, I will respond politely to my neighbor that I appreciate her invitation, but cannot possibly vote for Obama and it would be a waste of my time and hers.

Right now, FOX is trying to paint Barack Obama as foreign, un-American, suspicious, and scary. They’re trying to send Americans the message that our country’s first viable black candidate for President is not “one of us.”
We’ve seen this before from FOX. They won’t stop until it becomes too painful to continue—until the public calls them out and advertisers start getting worried.
Now is the time to draw a line in the sand by putting FOX on notice that their behavior won’t be tolerated….
