New CNN Poll says 46% of Clinton supporters won’t vote for Obama. And, “In another sign the wounds of the heated primary race have yet to heal, 43 percent of registered Democrats polled still say they would prefer Clinton to be the party’s presidential nominee. That number is significantly higher than it was in early June, when 35 percent of Democrats polled said they preferred Clinton to lead the party’s presidential ticket.” Click here.

Good Morning Pumas. I left this downstairs but will repost here.
I got this from Hillary Clinton news. — For legal reasons ~ please fill out this form so that your money will be redirected appropriately. Otherwise your monies donated to http://www.hillaryclinton.com may be returned in time. GO TO: http://www.hillarycampaign2008.com ~ FILL OUT THE FORM. PLEASE GET THE MESSAGE OUT.
http://hillaryclintonnews.blogspot.com/2008/07/alert-if-you-have-donated-please-read.html
I’m a little confused as to why this form would be going out rather than the one to retire her debt. I just printed out the retire the debt form and mailed it to Maggie Williams regarding a $25 check I mailed to the campaign office on 6/29 without any form. When I contributed the $20.08 yesterday, I did use the proper form for retiring the debt. What’s going on?

#3 ladyhawkke on 07.05.08 at 8:14 am

No one here yet except me and Snowtiger. Must be sleeping in!

#4 snowtiger on 07.05.08 at 8:21 am

Hopefully. They can use some rest, evreyone here seems to be pushing the envelope and I’m here cause I have to go to work. :( .
Have a great day.
Keep feeding the pumas.

#5 mijabsnji on 07.05.08 at 8:26 am

When I donated there was a box to check, it said it was to retire her debt, so I am leaving it at that rather then redirect to 2012

#6 ladyhawkke on 07.05.08 at 8:32 am

Hope it’s not a bait and switch. Is it possible her debt got retired and she’s using the rest for 2012? I doubt it.

#7 mijabsnji on 07.05.08 at 8:35 am

I guess any thing is possible but I doubt it too. They just said on fox no name wants to give his acceptance speech at mile high stadium, I hope he isn’t to dissapointed when Hillary makes the acceptance speech.

SuggestionDENVER:

- This year’s Convention may be frought with turbulence and even violence so using the BUDDY SYSTEM is imperative. As the bible says, go two-by-two; a policy that PUMA should promote.

- SPONSOR A PUMA: Donate Money $xyz (amount to be determined by Murphy or the person in charge of bus arrangements) so that another PUMA can go in your place should you not be able to go yourself. In return, the two are matched by way of email address… and perhaps if the person going has a camera they can take pictures to email or snail mail to their Sponsor.

Note: If you can Murphy, ask your webmaster to create a 120×240 banner to be placed on your sidebar for easy access.

- DOCUMENTATION: Documenting the event will be important as most if not all the media will probably be in or near the Convention site and demonstrators behind a fenced in area. So every PUMA that attends the event with a cell phone should take pictures… every PUMA with a digital camera should take pictures for upload to the Action Center Gallery of images; and every PUMA without a cellphone and/or without a digital camera should get at least one of those portable cameras.

#9 cosmeta on 07.05.08 at 8:48 am

Each PUMA PAC CELL should be assigned a pac leader; and each pac leader should have direct cellphone contact with someone who is at home watching on C-Span so that they can get minute-by-minute reports as to what is taking place *inside* of the Convention itself.

Note: Those not in attendence could be made to feel a part of the event even if they cannot attend; for they are PUMA also.

#10 mijabsnji on 07.05.08 at 8:49 am

I went back to the contribution page and read where I checked the box and it deffinately says it is for her 2008 debt retirement so I am not filling out a new form

#11 ladyhawkke on 07.05.08 at 8:53 am

#10, I’m not either; however, I’m still questioning why that message is being sent.

#12 snowtiger on 07.05.08 at 8:53 am

Great ideas cosmeta. Theres no way I’m going to make it to Denver and maybe I can scrape up enough to send someone else. Or maybe we can set up a target amount for someone who has the time to go and work it that way as well. Use multiple donors. Kinda of a pack o’ pumas.
Well I’m off to work now, Have a great day all.:)

#13 mijabsnji on 07.05.08 at 8:55 am

I feel if they really do return it which I don’t think they will, then I can donate to 2012 not now.

http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/

“The pool was told repeatedly that Sen. Obama was merely doing a video shoot
for the campaign’s new media department, a routine operation. But Aliesh, hired by Essence to do makeup, tipped your pool off that Obama was accompanied by a famous film maker, as part of a film shoot for the

Good morning, Pumas! I am going to be with the little dragonflies today, but I will be thinking of all of you and how much I admire your strength and dedication.

I also see Hillary as the nominee in Denver.

By the way, I followed the link above to the CNN article and Bill Schneider is quoted as saying some foolish things about us and about Bill Clinton. Puma responders, I don’t know if there is a way to comment on it, but if so, please do! We are not simply stuck in the stages of grief. Bill Clinton is not a racist. He does not need to just “get over it.”

Okay, off to my little ones. Have a beautiful day.

Good Morning Pumas!

I had an idea while I was staring at the ceiling last night in my insomniac phase:

How would you feel about leaning HARD on the DNC to release ALL Delegates and Super Delegates from their endorsements and let them vote in secret in August?

I think that would be one way to really throw a kink in Denver!

—————————————————–
I think the article said both 46% of Hillary supporters AND 46% of registered Dems. Perhaps they goofed.

Jy 5, 2008 There has been an update to the CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll I posted prevously. The figure currently quoted for Hillary supporters refusing to vote for Obama is 46% or 9 million, an increase of 2 million from last month’s poll.

Note this is not an online poll but a poll taken in the real world outside the internet.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/04/clinton.poll/index.html?iref=werecommend

Poll: 43 percent of Dems still say they want Clinton as the party’s nominee
Number of Clinton supporters who plan to defect to McCain is down

[ This story does not say how far down the Mc ]Cain group is. Knowing MSM, it could be like a fraction of a point down. :-)

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey completed in early June before the New York senator ended her White House bid, 60 percent of Clinton backers polled said they planned on voting for Obama. In the latest poll, that number has dropped to 54 percent.

43 percent of registered Democrats polled still say they would prefer Clinton to be the party’s presidential nominee. That number is significantly higher than it was in early June, when 35 percent of Democrats polled said they preferred Clinton to lead the party’s presidential ticket. [....]

Obama won 59 percent of support from registered Democrats polled in June; now he garners 54 percent.

Have I misread something? Oddly, this seems to say that both 46% of HIllary supporters AND 46% of registered Democrats will not support Obama.

Anyway, 46% is up from last month’s 39% of Hillary supporters, which was 7 million. 46% of Hillary’s 18 million supporters would be more like 9 million.

#51 DawnE on 07.05.08 at 10:04 am

“These things always take time to heal,” said Bill Schneider, CNN senior political analyst. “I think Clinton’s supporters are waiting to see if Sen. Obama will pick her as vice president. That would certainly be very healing to them.”

HUH? think this one has not been paying attention…:0

**** PUMA ALERT ******

PUMAs strive to be inclusive of all people who are dissatisfied with the political process.

I’ve been receiving emails from a lot of centrist Republicans for Hillary who do not feel welcome on our blogs due to some of the negativity toward Republicans.

There were MANY crossover votes for Hillary, and they weren’t all Limbaugh Operation Chaos voters.

Based on the emails I’m getting, I believe we are striking a chord with ALL voters - regardless of party.

We’re doing a good job including everyone in spite of our explosive growth. We’re being heard.

Remember, our first mission as a PAC is NObama. Be you Republican, Democrat, Green, Yellow, or Red - if you say NObama, you are welcome in our Pride.

Been gone from the site for several days, but recruiting everywhere. Wearing my Hillary pin everyday. When someone talks to me about it, I give them the PUMA website.

Not sure about the secret ballot vote. It might be too easy to violate the ballots. Slip Obama ballots in place of Hillary ballots. The live announcement of delegates is hard to dispute. I’m much more concerned about the DNC trying to negate some of Hillary’s delegates. How can this be legal. They were voted in by us at least in Maryland they were.

They were talking on Baltimore radio this morning that some think Obama will be worse than Bush. That his primary platforms copied Hillary so he could get the vote, but now that he looks to be the candidate he is reversing on many issues (DUH?)

Good Morning to you, too!

I don’t think it’s a good idea to do ANYTHING in SECRET when it comes to the DNC. I just don’t trust any of them after May 31, especially if they have deep pockets. I’m taking Firebelle’s ‘non-combative’ inspiration and seeing a flood of phone calls, emails and letters to delegates, super delegates, DNC, media, and the world.

Release the delegates and superdelegates from their endorsements. Allow them to go back to their districts and voters and regroup. Do not pressure them. Let them take responsibility for the role they were assigned to play - be the voice of the voters they represent.

I believe this could be a good compromise for both sides. Hillary and Edwards are still candidates - neither has withdrawn.

I’m also open to suggestions.

Marylandpuma-You are confusing me. I thought we were Democrats or at least Democrats during the primary that were fighting the DNC. With all due respect to the Republicans I would be afraid that if we have them on the sites there would be more bickering because of the difference in beliefs. Obama supporters have been saying all along that we were Repubicans. and we have been arguing that we are not. I think we need to repost what Pumas stand for and our mission so that people understand who we are and what we stand for.

Good Morning Pumas! Buenos Dias! The CNN poll which we know is no friend of the Clintons shows that Hillary supporters are slowly but surely waking up and saying No Deal, we won’t accept nor vote for a bad substitute of a perfect candidate.

I have a feeling that the tide will change before the convention and if it doesn’t the DNC is on its way to a defeat in the general election.

This has been an historic campaign and it may still have a surprising and joyous ending for our candidate.

In order to achieve this end Pumas must continue roaring and reaching out to Hillary supporters every opportunity we have.

Earlier this week someone posted a poll showing Bo and McCain evening off in the polls. THe article stated the Bo was picking up Hillary supporters. But I meant to post about this and question, if Bo dropped 4% in that poll and McCain rose 2% (I believe I am recaling those numbers correctly for that poll) how can the media claim Bo was picking up Hillary supporters. Because with a 4% drop my question is, if he is indeed picking up Hillary supports then he is losing part of his own support base. And are they going over to McCain or laying dormant. Would be good to know because that will give us 4% or so of ex-Bo fans to work with.

I don’t have the link to that posting but I’m pretty sure I’m remembering it correctly.

If this is the case, we need to find out what % of supporters are moving away from Bo and how do we reach out to them.

# 52 Maryland

Not all of us were with Hillary at the start. I began this process with a preference for any of 3 candidates: Kuccinich, Ron Paul, and Nader. Because I always follow campaigns closely ( local as well as national ) I watched the debates. The defining moment for me was when BO made that immortal statement; “you’re likable enough”. His dismissive attitude caused my PUMA ears to perk up and from that time on I listened very very carefully to not only his words but also his delivery of them. His attitude towards Hillary was at all times infantalizing, dismissive and patronizing, and the feminist in me began to howl. That even in the 21st century opposing candidates, the media, and the DNC believe they can treat a female candidate with such disrespect caused to to head for the nearest scratching post in preparation for the fight to follow. I take the insults and disparagement of Hillary PERSONALLY. It reminds me of so so many times throughout my life when I have witnessed or been the object of similar treatment.
Therefore:
I will NOT vote for a Democrat, ANY DEMOCRAT, until the political atmosphere in the DNC changes.
I will not smile and applaud cause MAYBE my daughters will have an easier time of it.
And NO, I are not going to support the changeling because THEY say there’s a bogeyman out there who might be worse. I’ve heard that before.

The difference this time is the I-net. In previous periods of frustration I would have been howling and growling at the moon alone . . . this time I have a pride. The 1st night this blog went live I signed on and have been purring happily ever since. Together we are louder than our individual voices, and when we issue our collective roar, the opposition becomes very pale and shakey.
They would love to dismiss us but we are growing by leaps and bounds. Hill must be relaxing, recouperating, and licking her wounds while chuckleling.

I haven’t posted for a while, but I have been lurking. We have got to stop Obama!

FOX news Cavuto business said they have a story coming up on Obama’s sweet mortgage deal and “could it cost him the White House?”

If we could just get CNN to come a round, too. Don’t they care about ratings?

If y’all are interested (which I wager to bet you are), the Chicago Sun Times released some documents from the Rezko trial that show how deep Obama is in this and my hope that he is indicted in the Operation Board Games upcoming trial. PUMAs must show this stuff to everyone you know. It is real, not an internet rumor! I am showing people who are just shocked the MSM does not tell us any of this stuff. EDITORIAL - seems even the N.Y. times is back pedaling all…….
1. New and Not Improved Published: July 4, 2008 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/04/opinion/04fri1.html
Senator Barack Obama stirred his legions of supporters, and raised our hopes, promising to change the old order of things. He spoke with passion about breaking out of the partisan mold of bickering and catering to special pleaders, promised to end President Bush’s abuses of power and subverting of the Constitution and disowned the big-money power brokers who have corrupted Washington politics. Now there seems to be a new Barack Obama on the hustings. First, he broke his promise to try to keep both major parties within public-financing limits for the general election. His team explained that, saying he had a grass-roots-based model and that while he was forgoing public money, he also was eschewing gold-plated fund-raisers. These days he’s on a high-roller hunt.

Even his own chief money collector, Penny Pritzker, suggests that the magic of $20 donations from the Web was less a matter of principle than of scheduling. “We have not been able to have much of the senator’s time during the primaries, so we have had to rely more on the Internet,” she explained as she and her team busily scheduled more than a dozen big-ticket events over the next few weeks at which the target price for quality time with the candidate is more than $30,000 per person.

The new Barack Obama has abandoned his vow to filibuster an electronic wiretapping bill if it includes an immunity clause for telecommunications companies that amounts to a sanctioned cover-up of Mr. Bush’s unlawful eavesdropping after 9/11.

In January, when he was battling for Super Tuesday votes, Mr. Obama said that the 1978 law requiring warrants for wiretapping, and the special court it created, worked. “We can trace, track down and take out terrorists while ensuring that our actions are subject to vigorous oversight and do not undermine the very laws and freedom that we are fighting to defend,” he declared.

Now, he supports the immunity clause as part of what he calls a compromise but actually is a classic, cynical Washington deal that erodes the power of the special court, virtually eliminates “vigorous oversight” and allows more warrantless eavesdropping than ever.

The Barack Obama of the primary season used to brag that he would stand before interest groups and tell them tough truths. The new Mr. Obama tells evangelical Christians that he wants to expand President Bush’s policy of funneling public money for social spending to religious-based organizations — a policy that violates the separation of church and state and turns a government function into a charitable donation.

He says he would not allow those groups to discriminate in employment, as Mr. Bush did, which is nice. But the Constitution exists to protect democracy, no matter who is president and how good his intentions may be.

On top of these perplexing shifts in position, we find ourselves disagreeing powerfully with Mr. Obama on two other issues: the death penalty and gun control.

Mr. Obama endorsed the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the District of Columbia’s gun-control law. We knew he ascribed to the anti-gun-control groups’ misreading of the Constitution as implying an individual right to bear arms. But it was distressing to see him declare that the court provided a guide to “reasonable regulations enacted by local communities to keep their streets safe.”

What could be more reasonable than a city restricting handguns, or requiring that firearms be stored in ways that do not present a mortal threat to children?

We were equally distressed by Mr. Obama’s criticism of the Supreme Court’s barring the death penalty for crimes that do not involve murder.

We are not shocked when a candidate moves to the center for the general election. But Mr. Obama’s shifts are striking because he was the candidate who proposed to change the face of politics, the man of passionate convictions who did not play old political games.

There are still vital differences between Mr. Obama and Senator John McCain on issues like the war in Iraq, taxes, health care and Supreme Court nominations. We don’t want any “redefining” on these big questions. This country needs change it can believe in.

I someone finally noticed the Emperor Has No Clothes?
Or that the empty suit is really the same has no clothes?
There is hope- good to back on line with goanderson, goalucard, (I should have remembered to do golorelai)
oh well, you know who I am - the Ohio lady that will not stop fighting!

I implore all of you to vote for McCain, no matter how hard that might be. If you sit it out and not vote at all, that practically will be a vote for Obama. A vote for McCain will not be necessarily a vote for him but more a vote AGAINST Obama. If we sit it out, Obama will win this Presidency and will validate all the wrong doings of the DNC.

I have some friends who are obots, but this weekend I challenged them to investigate 1. The state of the housing that Obama helped fund for Rezko to refurbish. 2. The Rezko trial and Obama’s involvement. Then I told them to prove to me none of it is true and also to prove to me where Obama has helped any Americans, other than himself, Michelle, or his corrupt campaign contributers.

I hope they learn something, like how this isn’t all internet rumors. This is a real trial that went on under most American’s noses for 9 weeks! 9 weeks, during the Primary. What other candidate would have had the luxury of all his skeletons being kept quiet????

I would think the better avenue is to gather the information or gallery here so as not to take people off this site. Each individual would still be free to get their own photo sharing site like myphotoalbum or whatever. Reason being… graphics take up a lot of web space, so best if one or two photos be submitted to this site while the individual can still store tons of photos elsewhere for their own personal use.

If Murphy cannot do it, perhaps on the Action Center site.

My point is that our goal is to fight misogyny and sexism and corrupt elections and politicians.

Our goal is to fix the democratic process - return it to the way our Founding Fathers intended it.

This election year, actually the past two elections, it’s the Dems who have dug themselves into a hole. Hillary just so happens to be the Dem who was the unfortunate target of the ‘grand unveiling’.

Can we exclude centrist Republicans? Include borderline Dems? Or should we welcome them with the hope that they’ll come out of this centrist Dems?

Murphy has adopted the Voice of the Voters. I can see our mission evolving into one of Democratic PROCESS watchdog.

Right now we focus on the Dems - the misogyny, bias, sexism, racism, ageism that was tolerated and encouraged by the political parties and the media. We focus on the undemocratic process of shoving a qualified candidate out of one of the closest primary races in history.

What happens after November? PUMA Pac will be there to right the wrongs to the democratic process.

Murphy, if I am WAY off base, please correct me. I guess I’m thinking long term. I would hate to see the powerful force you’ve mothered into being go to waste.

I hope all will consider a vote for McCain because I think only if Obama loses in a landslide will the DNC never try this kind of crap again. If Obama loses by a little, the DNC may figure, well, we almost did it last time, let’s see if we can this time in 2012. I never want to go through this crap again!

Support stops till Barack Obama keeps his word on key issues- (fanatic) fans
BY MICHAEL SAUL

Stop giving money to Barack Obama! Don’t volunteer for him! That’s the biting message from some unhappy precincts of Obama Nation.

A New York Obama backer disenchanted with the Democratic candidate’s post-primary lurch to the center Thursday launched an Internet campaign urging the likeminded to withhold campaign donations until Obama lives up to his promises.

“He shouldn’t take us for granted - he shouldn’t just assume we’re just an ATM machine,” said Bob Fertik, founder of Democrats.com, a group of self-described progressive activists. “We’re enthusiastic about him, but our level of financial commitment is going to depend on his level of leadership on the issues that we care about.”

Fertik started Thursday what he’s calling the “Obama Progressive Escrow Fund,” asking backers to put money they planned to donate to Obama “in escrow.”

Fertik is fired up over Obama’s decision to support counterterrorism legislation granting legal immunity to telecommunications companies that complied with President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.

While that issue tops many supporters’ complaint lists, Obama’s comments on gun rights, capital punishment and Israeli-Palestinian policy have also shaken his fan base.

Jake Barlow of San Francisco, who donated $2,000 to Obama and traveled to Texas to campaign for him, said he has called off plans to give $2,600 more and work as a volunteer in a fall battleground state. His reason for sitting on his hands and wallet is the wiretapping flap.

“I thought Barack Obama was different,” Barlow, 40, said. “He’s now starting to look like a vacillating, flip-flopping politician, and I just can’t in good conscience support that.”

Glenn Greenwald, a writer for Salon.com, said, he, too, won’t donate a dime to Obama.

“Obama is jeopardizing himself by fundamentally abandoning his values and positions and angering his supporters,” he said.

Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for Obama, did not respond Thursday to an inquiry from the Daily News.

Dan Gerstein, a New York-based political consultant and Obama backer, said he believes some of Obama’s supporters are being “unrealistic and bordering on naive.”

“He is trying to broaden his appeal to a larger electorate and to be true to this postpartisan, unifying message that he’s been campaigning on,” he said.

Your understanding of it is very correct. Think about all the money Bo received from oil company employees etc. He must be stupid to think we actually believe those employees en masse donated so much. Logic tells me the employees were gifted the cash to donate, cause we all know how much these big corporations care about the little guy in their businesses and pay them so much they have cash overflow to make such large contributions.

These emails have also stated that they are donating and are active PUMAs in stealth. Many of them ARE Pumas, they just don’t blog.

Excerpt:

“. . . even though I’m no longer posting I am doing the things I can to get Hillary nominated and doing everything I can to keep Obama out. I will be contributing to the Denver trip, Hillary’s debt, and P.U.M.A. over this weekend.

. . .I, like many Republicans, thought Hillary was full of it when she first started campaigning. I thought she was just saying what we wanted to hear to get our vote. BUT the more she spoke, the more I started thinking that perhaps this IS the REAL Hillary. What drew me to her was her understanding of the hardship of the middle class. She presented plans that her own party threw aside….plans that would help millions like me.

…Hillary is not like the normal Democratic political figures….she is something bigger than both parties. I honestly feel that she is the one that can bring all of us…from all sides…together.

…McCain is a wonderful man. He puts country before party and has proven that several times. I have no doubt that everything he does in office will be for what he truly believes will be best for America. So 4 years with him is okay by me. Oh…just to make sure you know, if Hillary is against him I will vote for her as will millions of Republican just like me.

…I’m 100% behind all of you! I support PUMA in so much as it will lead to Hillary being nominated. I will contribute to Hillary for her debt and to anything that PUMA needs. I always look at the actions to see what I can participate in as a Republican for Hillary.”

(It was a REALLY long email.)

I understand what you are saying and I would imagine that there are a lot of Republicans that would support you on that including my husband.

The point that I was making was that in the About Me page Murphy states that we are Democrats fighting to get our Democratic party back. Also I have read a lot of posts where democrat Pumas are passionate about what the decomcratic party stands for and are only voting Republican as a protest vote. Most Independants are either former Democrats or at least due not have views that conflict with ours. If we let Republicans blog and someone brings up some of the touchier issues such as pro choice, taxes, etc I could see where there would be a real disagreement. Also many of us have been fighting the Obama supporters who say we are Republicans. Anyway this is just MY opinion. I just think that if we change who we are then it should be posted and we should all be on the same page on what we tell people when we recruit them. All of the Republicans that I know would only vote for Hillary as a protest vote because they think McCain is too conservative.

#129 murphy on 07.05.08 at 11:18 am

Republicans?

To answer texassherry’s question.

Puma PAC is a political action committee working to reform the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. We welcome ALL Democrats, and believe every Democratic voter in America should be a member so that we can truly be the VOICE OF THE VOTERS in every single election!

We want to be the AARP of the Democratic Party. It’s free, simple, and fun to join. We will ALWAYS stand up for free and fair elections, enfranchisement of ALL Democrats in ALL 50 states, and INSIST that national candidates keep our coalition party UNITED.

This primary season has showed us all how FAR the Democratic party has fallen. We have A LOT of work to do.

Right now, between now and November, our goals are to MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE WILL NOT SUPPORT A SELECTED NOMINEE.

If independents and republicans want to join us in that effort, great! We’ll do our best to convert you while we’re at it!

However, Puma PAC is a Democratic effort. We do not endorse, campaign for, or in any way overtly SUPPORT McCain (though some of our members have started to actually admire him, which is of course their right).

These threads will never be a place to insistently sing the praises of McCain. We’re Democrats. Always have been, always will be.

There are absolutely no party tests or any other kind of
prerequisites for joining Puma PAC. No one checks your voting records or asks you to agree to an agenda.

If you agree with our goal to be the VOICE OF THE VOTERS in the Democratic Party, join us and welcome!

I believe MP’s point, which is well taken, is that we DO need Independents to cross over in order to win national elections. Also, there are a surprising number of Republicans who are beginning to admire us — many of them will join our effort in good faith, and they are welcome! Like i said, I bet we’ll convert them eventually!

Our goals have not changed. Our mission has not changed.

Join US!

They probbaly do that because they know we’re on our way to forgetfulness. (Get them early before their photographic memories run out of film”, etc.)

Good morning Pumas - justed posted a comment on the NYT page - someone named Sally pushed my button - I edited my first response & am in moderation - will probably not post but here it is:

Sally, you are a poor example to women everywhere - the misogny & crude, degrading references to Hillary Clinton not only made her seem less than human but also reflected on every female in this country - the PUMA protest is more than just anger at how Hillary was treated - it is a protest against the DNC/Democratic party and how they ’selected’ a nominee rather than elected one & we will not get over it or fall in line - we will remember in November….Nobama

Do some of these women just not get it? It’s the same feeling I get when I read about Hillary’s women supporters getting in line to donate bucks to him - how can they? Let the damn party implode - then we can get it back to what it originally was intended to be - women need to realize just how much power we have - we are over 50% percent of the population

It’s one of those use or lose it type of situations -
okay - that’s my rant for the day (unless I read another stupid comment somewhere)

I was wondering about that yesterday, there will still be so much to do even when this election wraps up, no matter who wins in Denver and then in november, there is so much damage to correct with the DNC. The voters will still need a watchdog.

Gooooooood morning Pumas!

I hope all had a wonderful, fun-filled 4th holiday yesterday. I spent som quality time with family, which always wears me out! LOL.

Anyway, did not know if this had been posted on the blogs here before, but if you’re following Senator Clinton, here’s an AP article that tells a bit about what shes been up to lately - and that is, getting back to work!

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hiNXcWLf88PPK4oOV-kAJkH9BSyAD91LTTO80

Excerpt:
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered a clear message to her constituents Wednesday: I love New York.

Nearly a month after her historic run for the presidency came to a disappointing end, Clinton returned to upstate New York and focused on local concerns — weather-beaten apples, green power and her state’s downtrodden economy.

Along the way, crowds greeted her with standing ovations and chants of “Hillary! Hillary!”

“We find her inspiring,” said Sister Joan Sauro of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Syracuse, who was carrying a 2000 Clinton for Senate campaign poster that Clinton had just signed. “What they say about her grace and grit is true. I’m heartbroken that she pulled out of the race … but that means we in New York have her back.”

I guess that obot yesterday got me thinking…..that would STINK with a capital “S” if Hillary got the nomination in 2012 and they took the PUMA tconcept and a new twist on the name and used it against us.

(Yes, I know that Hillary will be POTUS in 2008.)

One of teh things that frustrates me no end, is that at other PUMA sites they seem to in the initial stages of what PUMA Pac started doing weeks ago ( well, 3 or 4. I keep forgeting we’re only a month old…unbelievable),

It would definitely stink, but they are looking at it correctly. By 2012 PUMA will be so tightly organized (already the organization behind PUMA is astounding) and cemented that the Bo crowd will never be able to match us. Besides most of those will be out of college by then and hopefully experiencing life in the working world. family world, the world where we all have responsibilities. They will see things through a whole new set of eyes and I suspect will not be Bo’s most loyal fans by then.

Very interesting. This sentence should get some heads rolling, and some shoes shaking. If the media does not pick up on this Rezko story - you can bet Hannity will.

“The persons appointed to rig the votes, including those who contributed to Blagojevich and Obama, are cooperating in exchange for immunity or lighter prison sentences.”

Maryland Puma and Trish - my last dog lived to be 20 - they are pound dogs major mutts - I’m very big with the local Human Society and I swear, I love them alive ….When Kelley died at age 20, I was so distraught - I had only been married 10 years at that time and told my husband - you don’t understand, this is the longest, healthiest relationship I’ve ever had!

But I digress…. do think the AARP analogy is good and tell people whenever I can that PUMA’s are about Reform, not Revenge (although some days revenge sounds like it would feel rather good)….

We must keep up the electability watch and write SD’s to remind them of their first responsibility - to vote for the most electable candidate. And even though the MSM would have you believe Hillary been deleted, we know differently and can show them in Denver and leading up to Denver…..
Pick 18 SD’s (one for every million that voted for Hillary) and write them and respectfully tell them we are watching them and waiting for them to vote for the person who can best restore a Democrat to the White House…..The way BO is carrying on, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does implode before the convention. Another reason why I cancelled by Time mag subscription - Joel Stein has op-ed in Mpls Strib this am - bragging about winning $100 bucks off his mother by betting that *61 would beat Hillary - his comment: “And although some would say it’s wrong for a son to take advantage of his mom’s gambling problem, I think I was showng tough love by taunting her deeply held feminist hopes and dreams in a way that Atlantic City never could.” What an ass - hope his mother gives him a ‘gentle’ slap upside the head - he’s a koolaid drinker but is now playing at websites InTrade & iowa Electronics Markets - seems these sites work like the stock market only people buy & sell candidates’ electability, along with other important world events, like the winner of “American Idol” - WTF?? - he claims these “prediction markets” are plenty accurate - supposedly the InTrade market correctly predicted the winner in each state in 2004 & in 2006 got all the Senate races right. Right now *61-to-win is the favorite trading at 64 compared to McCain at 32

- but this is based on their thinking that we (the disenfranchised) will fall in line & come back………….fat chance……………

ranting again…………………

There are a lot of women, unfortunately, who do just not get it. Many are younger women who never experienced the major sexism that prompted the ‘feminist’ movement. Some have no idea about what women have had to fight for over so many years to achieve in regards to equal rights and as yet, semi-equal pay, and that struggle indeed continues in many arenas and areas of our country today. For so long women were indeed second class citizens in every sense, but we have come a long, long way. Yet women’s history overall always seems to take a back seat to all the other ‘histories’ in our great country. I have sisters older than myself who were in the streets ‘back in the day’ but there seem to be less and less of these brave women who are willing to stand up and take it to the streets anymore. It’s really a lack of education in my opinion. I do not know how much schools even teach, if anything, about the women’s suffrage movement and the struggles that women have faced over the years in this country. They may teach about injustices to women in other countries, and of course women suffer many times much less injustice in this country comparatively speaking, but we know injustices are still lurking and at times ignored in out mainstream in this country. This primary has obviously awakened that injustice and again brought it to the fore for many, many women (and men). One of our tasks over the long term, may just be to make sure that it stays in the fore. A new generation of women activists and women’s rights educators may have just been born!!! And all thanks to one brave Senator from New York, named Hillary Rodham Clinton. ;)

Good Morning PUMAS,

I’m sorry that I’ve been away from the blog for a little while now. My computer has been on the fritz and is doing better now. I did send the email to the Wisconson DNC Chairman the other day. That makes me so mad when I see this bias with Hillary’s SD’s. Mom and I recievd a survey from the DNC. I’m going to respond like they have would never have thought of. They also asked me for a donation for a minimum of $35. They will get PUMA dollars from me. My money, as little as it is, will go to the PUMAS!!

I would love to go to Denver, but I would need help with sponsors if that be the case. We were told, at the WV Delegate Convention, that the average nightly stay in Denver is $200 nightly. Quite a bit, for me!! I have a loud voice, but not much with the money.

I do want to thank you all again for the prayers for my family friend, Christina McSweeney. She was stablized at the hospital and they have moved her over to the local Hospice House. She has been awake and speaking to the family. She is now being told that she has weeks to live. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. She needs as much as she can get!!

Thank you all so much!

I personally don’t trust CNN as far as I can throw them, their poll may be geared towards keeping NObama supporters from becoming lax.
I am still not able to understand why the DNC got on this losing track.
OK, it would truly be wonderful to have an African-American president, but, with so many other super-qualified AA candidates out there, why Barack Obama?
This leads me to believe that the strings are being pulled only from the NObama side.
Now then, is it only him directing or is there someone behind him? (and I don’t mean his campaign management).

90% of the people I talk to know and feel the answer in their hearts -
the answer is so pure and so simple -
what we need right now is a Clinton solution
we are so much better off dealing with “The Known”
This is not the time to take a chance on “The Unknown” that is leaning towards a Jimmy Carter-type solution. (non-solution)
That would be catastrophic.

Some are planning on sharing rooms, cabins, rental RVs, etc. 2, 3,4,5, even 6 to a unit, as a way of saving money, traveling frugally.
Also, someone (Zee) suggested checking out Denver Craig’s List for non-conventional temp housing.

#179 mpdamon on 07.05.08 at 12:02 pm

#180 MountainSong on 07.05.08 at 12:03 pm

I found a list of Obama’s lies (60 of them) on the justsaynodeal site. Am printing them out and posting on bulletin boards and anywhere else I think they might be read. Also printing off some of the comments here, minus the posters name, etc.
Many of the senior citizens I have talked with have said there is no way they will vote Obama and are quite staunch in saying they are going to do their part to defeat him.
It’s rather hard to persuade someone who is addicted to MSM and their propaganda. But, fortunately, MSM has given me a tool. Most of us are weary of the war actions in Iraq and Afganistan. MSM has made it known that Israel definitely intends to attack Iran before the election. They are not convinced about Obama and feel he would be less supportive than other candidates. However, Hillary does have an “in” with them. I try to inform people that Israel has never NOT done what they have said they would regarding military action to defend Israel. So, if their intention is to attack before the election, we still have the convention to turn things around, at least buying some valuable time. IF Hillary gets the nomination!!! Because if O gets it, it is quite likely we will be embroiled in World War III before the Inauguration. His flip-flopping is having negative impact on investors and the stock market, also. As reflected by the recession and bear market now occuring. Obama simply doesn’t seem to understand that you can’t make a poor man rich by making rich men poor. It is the rich who create jobs and the rich who are laying off workers now because of uncertainty about the election.
It is exciting to feel part of this movement to restore the Democrat Party to it’s intended structure and to defeating this evil man who forgets he is half white and uses the “race card” in an attempt to blackmail us into giving him the nomination.
Since the primaries, I hear more about what he can do for himself than for America.
Lastly, whatever happened to Hillary and Bill campaigning for him? I am just hoping and praying that Hillary realizes how quickly things are changing and that people are changing their minds, and reactivates. If she does I think the world will be shocked by the amount of finacial support she will r
