Objections
The members of the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and By-Laws Committee violated The DNC charter on May 31, 2008 by meeting in private, in direct violation of the Sunshine Rules Provision of said Charter.
On that same day, the Democratic Party grossly violated ethical standards when it awarded four delegates to candidate Barack Obama based on actual votes for candidate Hillary Clinton, and in addition, awarded him delegates based on votes for “Uncommitted.”
Earlier in the campaign season, the Democratic Party violated its own Delegate Selection Rules by applying penalties to only two states who broke Section 11 calendar rules, even though five states broke those rules. In addition, Florida and Michigan were originally stripped of 100% of their delegates, even though the rules stipulated a 50% penalty.
The decisions of the RBC meeting mentioned above are evidence of sexism and authoritarianism within the ranks of the Democratic Party.
Caucuses are a violation of the one-person, one-vote and secret ballot principles that have been cornerstone Democratic values for more than a century. They produced a skewed and unfair result this primary season. Caucus states are also over-represented in the pledged delegate count, in violation of the one-person, one-vote principle.
Sexism was allowed to flourish as never before not only because of the behavior of the mainstream media, but also by the actions of many in the progressive online community, the stark silence of the Democratic Leadership and because ordinary Americans, male and female, engaged in it as long as it advanced their favored candidate.
Barack Obama and his campaign exploited racial issues in the primary campaign, which risks setting back the Civil Rights movement, and cynical Democratic leaders, as well as some ordinary Democrats, approved of this campaign tactic.
The voices of 18 million voters who supported Hillary Clinton have been illegitimately silenced, ridiculed, and subjected to outright fabrications on the part of the mainstream press and the Internet press.
The evidence is present, for anyone who wants to see it, that authoritarian tendencies fueled by greed are on the rise in the Democratic Party.
Now, in view of the dismissal of one-half the Democratic voters of this primary season, their social degradation, in view of the unjust actions above mentioned, and in view of the disenfranchisement of the voters in two states, and because we do feel ourselves aggrieved, oppressed, and fraudulently deprived of a free and fair primary election, we insist that the Democratic Party address our objections, or risk the loss of our votes come November.
In entering upon the work before us, we anticipate no small amount of misconception, misrepresentation, and ridicule; but we will use every instrumental within our power to affect our objectives. We will employ agents, circulate tracts and flyers, blog, advertise in all media, petition state and national Democratic leadership, and endeavor to enlist the press in our behalf.
Resolutions
Resolved, that the Democratic Party must seat the full Michigan and Florida delegation in adherence to the thoroughly Democratic principle of one-person, one-vote.
Resolved, that Michigan delegates must be awarded according to the actual votes cast, specifically that Hillary Clinton must be given 73 delegates and Barack Obama must be given 0 (zero).
Resolved, that Hillary Clinton’s name must be offered on the first roll call at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August of 2008, in accordance with tradition for 16 of the last 18 Democratic National Conventions.
Resolved, that caucuses should be abolished, and the Democratic Primary system in its entirety must be reformed to better reflect the one-person, one-vote principle, as well as the equal representation principle enshrined in the Constitution.
Resolved, that millions of women and men alike no longer think of the Democratic Party as the party for women’s issues, or for equality and fairness, or for the protection of abortion rights, and will no longer vote for them based on such criteria.
Resolved, that the cynical exploitation of cultural issues will not be rewarded with votes, and that it is part of the PUMA mission to educate the electorate about such abuses.
Resolved, that the PUMA movement is comprised of traditional and loyal Democrats who have carefully watched and recorded the events of the 2008 Primary campaign season.

I personally feel a huge bloc has to swing towards him or bb will still take the ge. But what we’re doing here is ensuring everyone places their vote where they WANT to, not where they are TOLD too! So everybody is making their own decisions while we still have that right!

I know of 3 medics , other than myself who are planning to go to Denver . Might I suggest the we set up a tent ( I have one ) in case of any medical emergencies ? Otherwise , I know we will all be carrying our supplies .

Just a suggestion : We should get a master list of cell phone numbers for all PUMAS and have ground coordinator or a team so that we can keep up with meet up sites etc. Some of us will be in Denver prior to others. We need a way to keep track of each other. Just a thought
On the 4th of July all the wonderful PUMAS raised their heads in UNITY towards the dark night sky. The clueless would say, “THEY’RE JUST WATCHING THE FIREWORKS”, but the PUMAS WERE FEELING THEM IN THEIR HEARTS…a tradition that runs deep within the soul of this PROUD PUMAPAC. Feelings of PRIDE, GLORY, HONOR, and the STAR SPANGLED BANNER were exploding in the sky. The PUMAS thought of the American Flag, the Founding Fathers and their fight for Freedom, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, their Civil Rights, and the Right to Vote. The DNC was WRONG not to COUNT ALL THE VOTES as they were cast by the people. Presidential candidates should be “ELECTED BY THE MANY” and not “SELECTED BY THE FEW”. It goes to the CORE PRINCIPLES of FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY the cornerstones upon which our UNION was formed. The PUMA resolve grew as they watched overhead, they knew in their hearts that America and it PRINCIPLES are worth fighting for. If doing what is right and holding the DNC accountable means putting COUNTRY BEFORE POLITICAL PARTIES, then so be it. The PUMAS put their PAWS over their hearts as a GESTURE of SOLIDARITY.
Meanwhile back at the ranch in MONTANA, the DNC presumptive candidate was being eyed by a couple of local cowboys. “Yep, he sure looks like a POST TURTLE to me.” Makes me wonder how he got up there.”

Texas I would be cautious about supplies. They may be confiscated. Not sure who you would contact but know at all the concerts there are always medics around. They even have them on bicycles at the baseball games roaming around. From what little is leaking out it sounds like likes of military personnel are going to be around as well as police officers from other districts lending support. Maybe on Monday check through mayor’s office and try to find who you can contact. I say mayor because most others you can only email and wait for response.

Don’t know about dehydration in the summertime in Denver. But in the hills above at Keystone while TRYING to ski in 1994, I lost my breath and decided that was no fun. Vomitted too on my way down the slope in the tram.
People there are terrific and helpful. Got my rented Sentra stuck in the snow and a truck of people stopped to get me out.
True though. The altitude is not kind to visitors; but the people are. I even got carded at ALL the Diamond Shamrocks for wanting beer. And I was 41 at the time! (Must be the Beatle haircut I’ve had all my life that makes me look so…).
I love Denver residents.

#14TexasTigress…I heard on Hannity and Colmes last night that Nader may be the only candidate that truly wants to take our troops out of Iraq. Apparently BO is changing his position on Iraq too and although he promised to get our troops out in 16 months he is now saying he’ll have to reassess the situation. On the show they also said that if Nader keeps his policy of withdrawing troops he’ll probably take many votes away from BO!!!
A democratic stratagest on the show said that BO is changing from left wing liberal to centrist to win the general. He pretty much said that BO will do anything to win!! Nothing new I guess!!

I lived in Boulder during the Pope visit. I was a medic at site. Denver/Boulder area will have volunteers of Paramedics, EMTS and tons of volunteers. We even had the National Guard. Lots of heat strokes, I was a volunteer for the whole week. No sleep. You need to have lots of water, no caffene, do not drink sodas, between the altitude, and the heat you will dehydrate quickly. You have to remember you will be a MILE HIGH, above sea level.

The cure to altitude sickness must be kindness. The people there made my stay a wonderful experience. And that made me feel real good real fast for I love kindness.
But, being a guy I better stop it or people will talk.
Altitude sickness should not affect unless you are there longer than a week or two. But you will get drunk very fast if you are not used to it! also the beer they sell is 6% except for the beer sold in gas stations, that beer is 3%.

Unless you’re already acclimated to the weather in the migh high city newcomers will have to adjust by taking precautions. Just depends on each person’s system as to what they will be.

heysandy..we only do what we can. I’ve called FEC and no way can DNC or bb get their hands on the money. Any primary money left over is donated to charity. Any GE money is returned unless person who gave gives permission for it to be used such as her senate re election. Somebody yesterday said they had received an email from Hillary asking if their donation could go to senate re election. They had paid the 4600 max. So our “small” donations apparently were used for primary and large donations put in GE to save financial nightmare in case she doesn’t need GE fund. I pray she does!!!!

I’m not a PUMA, I’m a McCain Republican, but I have to say if it came down to a vote between Hillary and McCain, and McCain lost, I’d feel safer having Hillary as CIC than having Obama at the helm.
The only Democrat vote I have cast in recent memory has been for Judge Seamus, PA Supreme Court. Many of our state’s republicans voted for him, that’s how he won. (this is by way of establishing my Republican creds). During the course of the Dem primary I became more and more astonished at how shabbily HRC was treated, by MSM and her own party’s leadership. I am in contact with more than a few rock rib Republicans, and I have to tell you many of them were equally shocked.
In short, I do believe the PUMA organization has a legitimate grievance.

thoughts…I’ve been thinking about why I am so passionate about this whole thing. Bear with me while I vent.
I was so pissed off at the Bush debocle (sp?), that I stopped voting. If my vote was not going to count, why bother? Well, I came out of the closet (the voting one), and voted for Hillary. I was so excited to see that we could possibly have someone in that high office, that could accomplish some good. Including voter reform, which Hillary was working to fix.
I early voted here in Texas, on day one. Weeks later, we went to attempt the caucas vote. Myself, my partner, (who early voted, with her 9 year old son actually pushing the button next to Hillary’s name)and her 11 year old son with Autism. We stood in line, after official voting was done, for over an hour. After they finally figured out what they needed to do, they starting filing us inside. Signing forms, ok, pads of paper, then we had to wait. For everyone to get signed in before we could start the process. Ok, now mind you, its now after 8:30 pm and we have two kids taking TAKS tests in the morning. We gave up, after a while, and left. The kids needed good nights rest for the test and we’ve just had them standing in line for over 3 hours total, at this point. As we left, we passed a line of people, still needing to sign in, that was over 200 more people long! So in effect, a lot of us, gave up, for one reason or another. So yes, Hillary had the popular vote in this state. And BO had the caucus vote. Who knows what the caucus vote would have been, if everyone could have been a part of it.
So now, I’m feeling again, my vote didn’t count. Just like 8 years ago. 8 years ago, my sister-in-law was a huge follower of the NoBushZone coalition. And I thought she was whacked. She went to the debates, she drove to DC to march…3 times. I thought she was whacked. She was so passionate about voter reform, and getting Bush impeached. OMG, I thought she was whacked.
Well, now I’m trying to talk my partner into letting me go to Denver. I have bumpers on my car, I plan to have more. I’m sending letters to my neighbors, emails to delegates, senators, etc, jumpin on this blog every chance I get. I must be whacked! I am whacked. No, I’m just finally tired of the system that doesn’t seem to work for the people. My ancestors led Washington into Trenton, on the night the Hessians were defeated. They fought in the Revolutionary war, they helped house, feed and gave medical attention to those in need during the war. The war that gave me the freedom I now enjoy. The freedom I was willing to fight and die for years ago, while I was in the military. The freedom, I hope the boys in my care will be able to enjoy and be proud of. The freedom to feel my vote counts.
I don’t feel that way right now. I’m not proud of my leaders. I’m not proud of how they act, acted and continue to act, while representing me.
I am proud to be a PUMA. I am very proud to be in this fight with the rest of you PUMAs.

#73 DawnE. I hear you with the Texas caucus situation. I also did the early voting thing. Unfortunately I was teaching a class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at a local community college. I had asked permission to cancel class on that Tuesday night or have a substitute so that I could attend the caucus. Of course I was told no. Less than 1/4 of my class showed up that evening as they all went to their caucus locations. Most of my students were AA. I felt totally helpless. This caucus thing is a total sham as it excludes too many people from participating. I am still so annoyed that I was prevented from casting my full vote. So while those people in Floriday feel that they are only 1/2 a person. I feel that I am only 2/3 a person since that is all my vote was worth. If it is the last thing on the face of this earth I do, I’ll make sure that in the future my vote is FULLY counted.

I am a little confused about the e-mail I received from Murphy, i.e. what letter do I cut and past and send to her list? Also, I’d like to go to the convention, but don’t know where everyone is staying. Can someone fill me in?
I want to go to the convention. I just shared this site with a good friend and my sister. My best friend is signing up-my lil sis who is only 18 cried a bit at watching the video because this was the first time she voted and it didn’t matter. She feels as if the Democratic Party Leaders are sexist and this is the opposite message she recieved in Highschool.
Way to go DNC. You really flugged up. The repercussions have yet to be fully seen. Their childrens children better not hope for a spot in Washington because these young voters will not forget and will finish carrying the torch of PUMA JUSTICE long after its original members expire.
I will be donating $20.08 today to help Hillary retire her debt. I will also donate at least $10 to the PUMA PAC’S mission to send buses to DENVER! That will be my vacation this year. I believe well worth it!
Pumas-? for you all. How close are we to getting to $0.00 on her debt? And, if she does reach that goal, do you think that she will fight at the Convention? Do you think that they have fully succeeded in silencing her? I listened to her speech and she said that as long as we kept fighting for her that she would fight for us-well-we pumas are fighting-does she know that?

#105 &106- People are donating to pay for buses to help with some of the transportation. Some pumas are driving or flying on their own. Maybe some of the pumas can share their hotel rooms and split the cost, or know of someone that has a room in their house. Camping is a great idea if someone can post where to reserve a spot. Marylandpuma is a good person for organizing and may be able to help teaming people together.

Thanks for the effort. Really, if this is going to be successful, there’s needs to be more prep. work regarding where to stay, meet, etc.
I’ve said from the moment “the annointed one” was shoved into his current (hopefully temporary) position, that we needed to stage a modern day Boston Tea Party. I immediately sent an email out to my contacts list stating such - suggesting we all take action to ensure our country is safe from his brand of politics. At the time I didn’t know what to do… it just had to be done. Thanks for being a major catalyst in bringing this plan of action all together. Imagine how the the history texts will read 20 or 30 years from now. Our children’s children will be able to say, “I know someone who was there!”

The Denver group has been posting accommodation suggestions (with links) on their site.
There are campgrounds with rental cabins and rental RVs, sleeping anywhere from 2 to 6 people.
I’d like to get to Denver early and volunteer with … whatever. So I’m hoping the Denver group will post volunteering opportunities.
Bottom line though, as long as we have a basic schedule of where and when to congregate, I’m good.

Well.. we got a ground pounder CLARK jumping all over the Flyboy McCain. Clark with all due respect… DID NOT SPEND time in a PRISON camp.. Typical GENERAL Officer comments about leadership and etc, from a Brilliant West Pointer.
King Obama continues to show his true leanings on key issues and that he is the typical politician wanting only to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES no matter what it takes, what he has to say or how much he has to SPEND for each American Vote.
It appears we can expect more of the same in Washington instead of the ‘change’ he continues to advocate in his preachings.
As we learn more about his ‘Chicago Style’ of politics… perhaps we will dream of a Powell for President or even Edwards.
The real loser this week continues to be
the American People. We continue to lose at the gas pump, at the grocery store, and on the home front.. Because our politicians continue to march to their own drummer.
Forget the Constitution, forget the taxpayer, forget Truth, Justice and the American Way. Just remember… we are elected to this job and we are accountable to NO ONE.. just our party and our re-election campaigns.

Do you think it is wise to notify media ahead of time of our plans? I’m just saying the best defense is a great offense. You don’t realize that they could sabotage us as far as lodging, permits, police presence etc. I think we should plan between ourselves, put the plan into action, then notify press etc. They will just be waiting to throw us in that cage. Just another idea for staying in Denver. I used to work for a university in Alaska years ago, and during the summer many of the universities or colleges with empty dorm rooms, will rent their rooms out really cheap, they use to be about $25 a night for two, with fridge, microwave, bath and two beds.

I got an email from the Obama campaign. I don’t know where they got my address from, but no matter; I replied to unsubscribe and told them I cannot, in good conscience, support an unready candidate or the party who ran out the more qualified candidate. I’ve gotten some paper mailings from them and the DNC, too, asking for contributions. To each one I replied with a photograph of my hand holding my voter’s registration form indicating “No Party”, and I wrote the same message on the back of the photo that I sent to the the Obama campaign this morning. I also include the URL of this blog, in case there are disaffected Democrats working the campaign who don’t know where to go and think they have no other options but to “fall in line”.
I donated to Hillary’s debt just now and to the bus to Denver fund last night. The radio interview was great. I find the fact that BOites are trying to sift through Murphy’s life to, I guess, prove she is not pure enough very creepy. So what if she gave money to McCain do you all remember McCain was seriously considered as a VP for Kerry? What is this DNC need for purity as defined by Obamaites when their own behavior is so sexist, power grabbing and hate filled. Personally In this election cycle I would rather be called Republican than DNC affiliated. In reality I consider myself a Independent who 75% of the time votes Democrat.

I am white; my son is black. We took a cab the other day with a driver, black, who had transported us several times. He said he heard the schools in our city were good. I said they were very racist, just like the city. Sent my PUMA emails yesterday, as well as a handwritten note of support to Bill Clinton, and a letter to one of my state’s superdelegates.My teens agreed to forego buying fireworks to donate $20.08 to retire Hillary’s debt. We agreed that it was a cool way to celebrate Independence Day and to be patriots.
I had an interesting discussion with the young staffer at my Congressional rep’s (i.e. superdelegate) office the other day. I try to remember that these staffers tend to be idealistic college kids who could be open to hearing the “other side” if it’s explained respectfully to them. This particular young man agreed with me that it’s troubling that BO didn’t debate in the later part of the primaries and agreed that the whole role of “superdelegates” in chosing the nominee is a troubling one that opens up the process for pressure and abuses. I think my congressional rep is a generally good guy who must’ve succumbed to pressure from above, and it sounds like other constituents have called in to complain too. I see these conversations as planting little seeds that hopefully will grow like weeds.
My teens agreed to forego buying fireworks this year so I could afford another donation to retire Hillary’s debt. $20.08 sent right after midnight on July 4. As hard as these events have been, it’s been a great opportunity for my kids to recognize problems in the political system and to think about what patriotism is truly about.

Go to any Triple AAA store and get a Tour Guide of Denver. It will list hotels, motels, (dog accomodations etc), camping grounds, sites to see… anything and everything. And I think they are free. They will even map out your route and highlight a map if you are driving.

Re: Denver - there was a excellent post regarding schools/colleges and using their dorms. That is definately worth looking into. Most places are more than happy to rent out their facilities and make a little money as well as keeping the sites occupied. Hope someone follows up on this.

Perhaps too… if anyone has a prior medical condition the Denver COORDINATOR should know that info also… in case that person passes out from heat or is not able to talk for themselves. Those around them should be aware of their condition to summond immediate help. I am especially thinking here of diabetics or those with high blood pressure, for example. I have an admission this morning. You know those solicitations I’ve been getting from Obama and the DNC? Well, they really feed my ego. Every time I get one, I feel that somebody wants me … or at least my money.
My therapist says it’s good for me. I have this strong need to feel wanted. To feel like I belong. To feel like I have something to contribute in this sometimes overwhelming world of ours.
And I can’t tell you how much it fills me with pride to know that the anointed one emails me so frequently. I mean, I just feel so *special*.

I have to tell you about an experience I had yesterday when I went to gas up my car for the weekend.
As I pulled up to the pump a rather large man was standing next to his oversized SUV as his tank was being filled. I have PUMA logos on my rear windows
and some Green Party Bumper stickers. He walked over , read them, and commented: “PUMA huh. You’re not very smart.” I pointed to my car ( which is a Prius and had a full tank by then ) and responded, ” over 50 mgh. I’m pretty smart.” I then drove off and left him still waiting for his tank to fill.

Happy 4th of July everyone.
I just got pulled in yesterday Denver signage.. I am not so involved in Denver besides reading what is going on.
I can’t go because of business in Vegas but trying to see if I can get a flight and sneak off for a day or two.
Murphy has mentioned instead of stiff signs or banners, lets go with the vinyl pin on “sign”(12 x 12 inches white vinyl with red or blue text or any color text ) so that it can be used for shade, waterproof and best of all you can pin with safety pin and unpin it to hold up as a banner if you want. Don’t have to smuggle as you would a card sign or banner. I think it is a good idea and was working till 3 am - getting a quote. Really good quote for a lot of qty.
They asked for a sample to print out to show us but I drew a blank.. Murphy threw out a few that was OK but I would like some other suggestions. Please bear in mind it has to be legible from far, have impact and not nasty - you will be wearing it on your T-shirt.
So far, I have the few below. The ones for PUMA will have logo but in order to print 5,000 - 10,000 to get a great price, we can share with other like minded sites but I don’t know how that can be coordinated. We can also use left over for November. But If only for group going to Denver, then we can print it locally depending on qty needed. I think having other website/blog members wear this uniform “sign” will show unity among us.They can always write in who they “belong” to. i hate to belabor this banner issue but I would love some imput.

Murphy, several PUMA’s have requested information about how best to respond to talking points from supporters of Senator Obama including the DNC leadership. I want to volunteer as a source of rebuttals for the common objection to the PUMA stance that the DNC should apportion delegates from Florida and Michigan to the candidates as voted, which objection often is based on an argument referencing the “rules.” My experience shows that if I can dislodge even one bedrock stance, eventually, the rest just naturally give way.

This web site as a contact list you can download (word or excel) that lists all the superdelegates and who they support, incuding those who switched from Clinton to Obama. I would urge everyone to contact those sd’s to make your case as to why they should switch back to Clinton.
Also, I spoke to a wonderful person at LobbyDelegates.com yesterday who informed me that normally at this point, the service that allows a person to contact superdelegates by state and candidate would have been taking down, but because there has been so much continued activity (mostly by Clinton supporters), they’ve decided to keep it up. Make sure you contact them to thank them. Also, be aware that they’re a non-profit and they send the letters via fax, which is a long distance call, so when they request a donation when you try to send your first letter, be as generous as you can (I know we’re all hard up for money right now, but…)

It’s been busy … I just gave $20 to the Denver travelers, $20.08 to HRC, and participated in a mock Colonial Town Meeting at the Old South Meeting House in Boston, MA this morning. The audience debated and voted about the 1773 tea tax, which led to the Boston Tea Party and, eventually, to the Revolutionary War. Hearing the famous words of the Loyalists and Patriots defending their positions on that fateful December day, it was inspiring to think that the Pumas truly are standing for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! And unlike in 1773, this time, women actually have a say in how this land will be governed too!

Second suggestion for colors - I was assuming ppl were going with white t shirts - they would reflect heat but if they go with a color I say medium shade of yellow with same red/blue/white swirl lettering. Represents the yellow for flowers sent and the patriotic colors - kinda two fold.
I do like the “WE WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER” but do not know if they will care about that…the Convention is where they will be at and it is about the voters/their votes, being counted, respected and heard. If not I think they all know what will happen in November.

As for McCain’s money, I think it was David Brooks that did a good column, saying that McCain personally has little but the RNC has a lot, and the total adds up to more than the total of Obama’s (a lot) plus the DNC (very little).
I think he also explained that Obama’s is really not from small donors but comes from big telecom and coastal elites.

It wasn’t until I really thought about it, that I realized donating to McCain might be a good idea.
Sending a donation to McCain is a STRONG message, it proves you will take action, I think it builds a stronger case for Hillary. We mean what we say! It is called leverage. It’s not about the amount we donate, its about the number of us that donate. It will turn heads back in our direction if McCain can say that thousands of donations came in on the 4th of July weekend all ending in 44. It could help thrust PUMA and Murphy back into the spotlight. And theres always the added bonus that it could make Dean and Pelosi squirm….ah…how sweet…and if McCain uses it to make one attack Ad against Obama, that helps too.

When I turned on FOX this morning — the newscasters were having a debate about how much Obama appears to have aged on the campaign trail (the gray hair) compared to how he looked a year ago. I found this discussion interesting from the perspective of a sign that the newscasters are setting the stage to diminish his appeal and his image. Kind of like the subtle and not so subtle attacks on Hillary’s appearance.
BTW.. has anyone watched this? I posted a couple of times previously today and was curious to any opinions of the comparison to the DNC this year and what went on back in 1972 with McGovern:

A few comments without remembering all the links- Nader as a choice over McCain I could do, he at least is for many environmental, less political bs, type of person. He won’t win anyway, so it isn’t as if I have to worry about the details. I will never vote for a Republican on principle since their basic beliefs are more centered on the individual than for the good of all.
Someone mentioned the bus ride only cost $35. Where is that from?

I am pleased to inform you the first meeting of the Advisory Committee on the Texas Democratic Party Convention/Caucus System has been scheduled. Headed by Senator Royce West, this first of several meetings will convene at the Austin Community College Health Science Building, Building 9000 in the Multi Purpose Hall room 8500 in Austin, Texas on July 7, 2008 at 10:00am. The campus is located at 3401 Webberville Rd, Austin, Texas 78702.
This Committee which Senator West and I have appointed has been charged with studying the current convention/caucus system. Furthermore, based on the testimony taken at these meetings, the committee will then consider this feedback and possibly make recommendations for changes.
While all meetings will be open to the public, the first committee meeting will be limited to invited testimony only. Senator West and the Committee members wish to use this initial meeting as an informational session. They will discuss with current and former Party leaders the history and development of the current convention/caucus system.
Those wishing to participate at this meeting are encouraged to submit written testimony to the Committee, or complete an online survey, available on the Texas Democratic Party website. Additionally, there will be other hearings held in Austin and throughout the state where public testimony will be taken in order to learn about your personal experience with the convention/caucus system. Those hearings will be scheduled at a later date.
So whether it is by completing the online survey or by attending the upcoming Committee meetings, I hope you will take a moment to share your thoughts. Took me awhile to watch the video before I commented. First, the report shows that taking the nomination to the convention was the norm in the past, not some aborration. Second, I noticed Mayor Daley, Sr. of Chicago was involved again in delegate tampering. Do you know why 150+ delegates for Mcgovern were in question? Lastly, the ruling that the concredentials committee had the final say is not good for our cause.

Thanks for commenting. I wasn’t voting age back in 1972 and have to admit that I was still in High School and not very politically aware… so I don’t remember any of this. I agree with you that there is a similarity of the DNC getting the last word which isn’t good for our current situation — but I found it fascinating that they did attempt to steal delegates before. And also interesting in the similarities is that McGovern didn’t win that election. So there’s hope we can at least succeed in thwarting Obama’s success for participating in this kind of corrupt behavior. That’s my 4th of July goal.

Royce West was one of the biggest offenders at the Texas Convention…kind of like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Richie was for HRC until he flipped the end of May. Obviously he is trying to save his fanny by sucking up.

After reading the New York Times Opinion page today enumerating all of BO’s radical flip flops between the primary and now, and witrh lots of time for more until the November election, I’d like to propose a new slogan for all the die-hard Obama supporters:

Fred - All of the ideas are great but I like “Paws for a cause” the best with paw prints. Something to think about is if BO is no longer the nominee after Denver then anything with his name on it would be worthless at that point. I listened to the PUMA talk radio last night and heard Will Bower say that in Wash. DC — he constantly sees Obamabots on every corner trying to recruit people to jump into the Obama camp. Will said that he only has to say one word to put fear in their eyes and make them physically back away from him. That word is PUMA. I saw someone else post a similar story in these blogs. I only hope I get the opportunity to see that fear in their eyes myself.

Good lord I leave you all alone for just under a day and 5 days worth of stuff has gone on and everyone is almost packed and on their way out the door to Denver. Oh happy days are here again -I see our double duo furry fiendish feline friends goanderson and antifish have returned yaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Don’t get to get many words in edge wide but I’m glad your back.
A question was posed to me by Zee about if I visit the website noquarter since they are pursuing the shady land dealings done by *61. No, I don’t go there because I have a number of medical issues and the amount of time I can spend at a computer is spent at this website and doing research for PUMA PAC. I did some research on the land deal and decided instead to first focus my time and energy on getting Hillary on the roll call in Denver. What I found, in the limited amount of research I did on the land deal, is: Rita Rezko (Antonio “Tony” Rezko’s wife) purchased the property adjacent to *61’s home. She subsequently sold a portion of the vacant land to *61 (giving him a bigger yard). She then sold the rest of the land to another couple. I no longer have the piece of paper with those purchasers’ names since I decided not to pursue that particular violation at this time. This rapid turn over in real estate raises so many red flags that if a bull were around it would take a whole truck load of rodeo clowns to distract him. Sorry, I digress. I also decided not to pursue it since a federal investigation was already in progress on Tony Rezko and I figure it is multi-layered. The feds cannot divulge who or what they are investigating. The PUMA, Taffy, had commented that she had called the DOJ and FBI and got no where. The privacy laws are why they could not talk to her. She stated that she was hung up on which was wrong. They should have explained to her that they cannot discuss if they are investigating anyone, taken the information she wanted to share, and thanked her for the call. I hope this information answers Zee’s question. My next post will be on a question antifish had.

As a matter-of-fact if you are already on the “do not call list” and told the DNC to take you off their list, then maybe you should file a complaint. I probably have a number if you need it.

The letter that I sent to my senators and that I posted yesterday had cites from the Senate Ethics Manual. Antifish had asked if anyone could protest the violations commited by *61. Yes, anyone can do so. In fact, I think it is a an excellent idea. If any federal employee abuses his or her power, misuses his or her position, or violates the Code of Code then that violation can and should be reported. In *61’s case, his violations of the code of conduct for the U.S. Senate can be reported to the Senate Ethics Committee with a recommendation that they conduct an investigation of him. My letter to my two senators was my starting point for this action. They are on the inside of the Senate so I knew they would recognize the problem they now face with *61. I only sent it to them because I am their constiuent and so many of the super delegates are, I fear, beginning to notice volume but not content. Antifish brought up the idea of my letter being a daily growl. I am fine with that if Murphy wants to use it. Obviously it would have to be changed since it is personalized from my viewpoint but Murphy would know how to generalize it and PUMAs who wanted to use it could personalize it for their own viewpoints. And, there’s that answer. Long again, I know. Sorry about that; I try to be clear and it takes me a quite a few words to do that. And now I will be off the computer for awhile (and possibily the rest of the day) to give my eyes a much needed break. Enjoy your 4th of July PUMAs.

Hey Murphu, side note…I recently heard that in elections, newspaper advertising the day before the election gets alot of independent or unsure people to vote your way. Maybe this is already in the works or too expensive –radio and or newspaper ads in Denver to vote for HRC. It would be one more way to remind the delegates to vote for Senator Clinton. Most middle to high end hotels leave the morning newspaper at their guests door. Just a thought and don’t know if it will be cost-prohibitive.

I think that the delegates in Denver would not pay much attention to a paid ad in a Denver paper, if they even picked up the paper at all. We’d be paying for a lot of local Denver readership who aren’t delegates.
You might check if there is some flyer service that might put out some at the last minute. But even then the delegates would probably ignore them. They wll be considering what their party bosses or their constitutents think.

Just came back from a friends house, her daughter now works for Nancy Pelosi. Here is the lastest buzz she was able to pass on. It seems as Hillary supporters are moving toward ‘not voting this election’, Nancy and friends are not so worried about losing us or losing the election. Apparently there was some worry until just recently. It seems unless we put our support behind McCain, they are not so concerned. To me, this makes sense which is why I am voting McCain IF Hillary is not on the ticket. I am just sharing, I dont want to tell people how to vote. But again this does make sense to me. Voting is power we have and diluting the votes dilutes our power. Just passing this on.

Denver has excellent mass transit. (Used to live there). Their buses go from Denver to Bolder.
I just wanted to comment on a trend I’ve noticed today on FOX (which I hope continues). Whenever they have a discussion on Obama — they of course have a Republican spokesperson along with a Democratic spokesperson in an attempt to give that “Fair and Balanced” reporting. But what I’ve been noticing is that after the Democratic makes the usual lame spin explanations to promote the idea that Obama is the “ONE” — the FOX person gives the Republican the last word — which is usually a great punch knockout to debunk the false statements of the former. The announcer always says, “We’re gonna have to leave it there,” and prevents the Democratic person from getting an opportunity to counter with more bizarre logic. I love when that happens.

Here’s something we can consider. When I attend conferences, each morning the staff in the hotels slip flyers, notices, etc pertaining to that days events, under each hotel room door. Perhaps we can arrange with hotels , who allow this, to do the same for us. We can make an attractive eye-catching flyer for it. Like the pic on todays growl. We wouldn’t need many words, many won’t read it, but they will see Hillary’s face and that thought will be with them, even when they don’t realize it.

Good afternoon Pumas!
I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful 4th of July. I wanted to update you on the developments here in Butte Montana with the Barrack Obama parade and picnic.
Let me start by saying that BO did not walk or ride in the parade. He was located in a small area around our civic center with a 2 mile closed perimeter. He watched the parade. Our Governor and a Senator were walking the parade though. They told us this this AM and cited that the security would have been a nightmare for BO to be able to participate. We have no high rises and there is little to obstruct the view of the SS if something bad were to happen. We are also only a town of some 25000 people.
Our parade also was late by 50 minutes in starting. We are still waiting to here if this was a result of BO. We are also trying to figure out if the fireworks delay last night (also 45 minutes) was a result of BOs plane coming into our town my family watched him fly over as he entered Butte. The fireworks started about 20 minutes after he landed.
The best of it is that I was a holder of a golden ticket to Bos 4th of July picnic. We were told that the festivities would begin AFTER the parade and all who held tickets would get in. At 1:15 my family arrived at the Montana Tech grounds. We were greeted by the MT security and told that no one else was being allowed into the event. When we asked why we were told they had no idea.
Many cars were turned away without explanation. Families with small children who had made the long walk uphill (about 1.2 miles in the 96 degree heat) were also not allowed in. This was an opportunity for BO to show his unity to Hillary supporters who are the democratic base here in SW Montana. Instead he turned us away.
I have contacted the Montana Standard and they are looking into the story. Several other individuals have also called them to relate similar incidents. I will update you on the story as soon as I hear more.
I will say I did go through the streets of Butte with my windows down screaming Vote for McCain! PUMA POWER! I received some interesting stares and many smiles. It made me feel better!
BO did nothing here to win over this strong Hillary crowd. Neither his nor McCain’s supporters in the parade got much notice even as they chanted Change along the route.
One homeless veterans sign said it all
“Keep the change, I want Accountability.” He was lucky enough to be near the Civic center area and I am sure BO took notice.
So for all the Pumas out there I hope my small effort was at least a little something. Butte is a tough town and we are strong individuals. We know our minds and do not mind speaking them. We will not be lead to vote for someone who insults our city and citizens with there elitist attitudes and lack of respect.
Lastly, for all those who took time out to visit our city for this event all the way from Washington, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming, we hope you at least enjoyed the parade. Butte was glad to have you here even if BO was not!
This just proves that BO had no intentions of winning over the Typical White Working Class Hillary supporters here in Montana. UNITY MY ASS!!

Yes—I remember watching CNN that night. I have to agree with the people saying its not good to not vote or to vote independent.
I know we need to send a message to the Democrats, but we also do not want Obama to be president.
Main reason I do not want Obama is that I do not feel that Obama is really concerned about America and ALL American people. This is not to mention all the flip flopping, racism, sexist and etc.
With McCain I feel confident that he is truly interested in America, America’s future and ALL of its people. Right now as it stands it looks like Obama is leaning very much in McCain’s direction.
So people think about it before you stay home instead of voting. If you stay home or vote for the independent; its a vote Obama.

I have been maxed out in the primary for a long time and had donated $650.00 to the GE for Hillary. Today July 4th I signed the web site allowing Hillary to repurpose the funds for 2012. I truly hope she uses it for the GE in 2012, but even if it is for the 2012 senate it is ok with me, I am from California and can only wish she were my Senator. Since I can no longer help pay down her debt, I have donated funds to The Denver Group and to Puma PAC.
I cannot go to Denver, but I certainly hope that those of you who can go will and I will continue to try to make it possible!

I agree with #600 & others that have posted on stragic voting. I had already decided to McCain Vote, or as I like to call it, McVote for the same reasons. Sure Hillary was my and could still be my first choice. I’m registered as a Dem too, but I’m aginst BO. A McVote will mean BO needs one more vote to beat McCain. If I don’t vote I’m just stepping aside to let BO in the whitehouse. I also know there is no way a 3rd party vote will keep BO out of the whitehouse. No one wants BO in the whitehouse. That just stinks. So my logic is to McVote, but that’s just my opinon.

I was in contact with a local National Delegate regarding Hillary’s name being on the roll call. I sent the information she gave me to Murphy in case I couldn’t get to the posting today. But since the traffic in posting is a bit lighter right I was able to get through the thread and decided to post it.
“Here is perhaps a more succinct description of what needs to be accomplished for a name to be placed into nomination:
“The convention rules permit floor nominations if (i) the request is signed by the nominee, (ii) he request is accompanied by a petition containing at least 300 but not more than 600 delegate signatures (no more than 50 from any one state), and (iii) is given to the
convention Secretary by 6 p.m. the day preceding the presidential candidate.”
The National Delegate also noted that there is a network of national delegates for Hillary being
formed from across the county- it is growing in numbers daily.
I am also voting for McCain. I can’t stay home and not vote.
I wanted to write Hillary in but in Connecticut it will only count as a protest vote it would be like writing in Sponge Bob for POTUS.

I just sent the link of the U tube video of Libyan leader Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi to Glen Beck. It would be interesting if this video had legs and ran with the idea that the Middle East is supporting Obama in hopes that he would be sympathetic to their causes.

I am trying to post on CNN and none of posts are going through. That drives me nuts.
I just handed out fliers at Philadelphia’s Independence Mall for a couple of hours. I figured someone had to do it today. It was exciting to do political canvassing in front of the National Constitution Center and Independence Hall, and mere steps away from the Liberty Bell on Independence Day!
I asked people if they were still interested in seeing Hillary in the White House and about a dozen took fliers and seemed very interested. I was surprised how many people were unaware that Hillary could still be nominated at the convention. I was able to convince many that she still had a chance at the convention and many seemed interested in our site and cause. Maybe we’ll see some of them on here soon.
I may hand out more fliers this weekend if it doesn’t rain too much or leave them in people’s doors in my neighborhood (remember, we can’t leave them in mailboxes). I hope others will hand out fliers so that we can get the word out to those who don’t know!

Here’s my take on the Florida PUMAS going to Denver;
You have to make costumes….sew a woman’s dress on half connected to man’s suit (empty lol) on the other and make up your face/hair/beard so your 1/2 of each other…it was a great skit years ago! leave the question, which half of my vote counted?
I just got booted off the internet. I need to go make ribs, corn on the cob, and tater salad anyway. (It’s on 4:17 in AZ) Happy 4th and best.

Yeah—that was the online automatic response. The other i mentioned was from an email confirmation and I thought it odd that they have the same old email response. I thought by now they might have updated it.
You can’t put flyers “in” mailboxes But you can stick them behind the flag. I fold them over in half and stick them on the outside, under the flag or tape them, whatever. The federal law is that you just can’t open the box and put anything in it. The outside is fair game.
Also flourescent paper like orange and green grabs peoples attention and they will read them on the way back to the house. It’s really effective.

Not much time inbetween barbeques, etc. Did find the following information on OpenSecrets about O’s giving to fellow senators and repre during elections. He has a PAC called HOPE Fund where all his donations come from. In 2002, there were no donations from this PAC. In 2004, no donations (probably because he wasn’t in the Senate yet either year). Then 2006 (the year he was elected into the Senate), his PAC gave $337,526 to House Demos (71 repres) The largest donation was $12,326 to Patrick Murphy (D-PA). The smallest donation was $1,000 ea. to six different reps. Another $239,243 was given to Senate Demos (38). The largests donations were $10,000 ea. to 14 different Senators (MaCaskill being one of them). The smallest donations were $2,000 to Daniel Hynes in Illinois.
In 2008 (this year to date) he has donated $227,000 to House Demos (51) and $68,000 to Senate Demos(11). The largest donation to a rep. was $9,000 to David Loebsack (D-IA) and in the Senate, $10,000 ea to Tom Allen (D-ME), Mark udall (D-CO), and Mark Warner(D-VA)
Obviously, 2006 was the bigger year because he wasn’t “running for President” so to speak. But he was sure shoring up his base. Look at where these particular people are from and that even more interesting.

Make note that the bleachers for the parade were only for those individuals not behind the cattle gates. This is a very small representation of the crowd that stretched along Harrison Ave for almost four miles. I am still researching, but it may very well be possible that the main crowd was not allowed into this arena area. As I said before a lot of people were supposedly bussed in.
Fox news reports that BO said he did not participate in the parade due to the fact that individuals along the parade route would have to show their hands as he came by and he did not want to spoil the party.
MY ASS… The Governor sighned a girls book right next to me while his attendants handed out stickers to my children and others near him. I think Barrack was to scared of us gun toting religious Montana working class to venture to far out of the safe zone. If he would have done so he would have found us to be polite and respectful of him if not cheering and falling on the ground fainting from his prescense.

I can’t believe it’s one month since this site began - I think I was one of the first few who couldn’t fill the first page of bloggers.
Remembering how upset and depressed I had become by the end of May, and what a relief it was to find this wonderful site, I can’t help but wonder how people who are not as politically aware (and I’m not that aware), are dealing with it. Have they become apathetic and resolved in accepting the Nameless One because they don’t want another four years of McBush?
WE KNOW, BUT I think there are too many Democrats out there who feel it’s a done deal, not understanding that Hillary did NOT concede, but ONLY suspended her campaign. If more people knew that she is still BREATHING, they may see ‘real’ HOPE and might reconsider.

Does anyone know how to get a list of state delegates (not super delegates) to the National convention. I did find a site, but our State delegates weren’t listed. Only about half of the states were listed. I e-mailed the executive director of the state party to see if I could get it that way. I wanted to send the info from post #3 to each of them. I’ve tried to get a list via people who attended the state convention, but that is next to impossible because the list wasn’t complete until after the convention was over. I’ve tried looking in the large state newspapers for coverage, but haven’t found anything yet. At this point, I’m sending the information to each of the Super Delegates in our state.

…this list is not comprehensive. It is based on interviews with women at Clinton’s June 3 nonconcession speech and her June 7 concession speech, and on comments I heard from some attendees at an EMILY’s List conference a week after Clinton bowed out.
1. They are angry because their candidate lost a close contest.
2. They are angry because their historic opportunity is over.
3. They are angry about rumors that Obama may choose a woman other than Hillary Clinton as his running mate.
4. They are angry that we started to talk about sexism only once Clinton stopped being a threat.
5. They are angry at the media’s repeated denial of sexism, and they are angry at Keith Olbermann.
6. They are mad at Howard Dean.
7. They are mad at Barack Obama.
8. They are mad at Bill Clinton. Um, obviously.
9. They are mad at Mark Penn.
10. They are mad at Hillary Clinton for conceding and not taking their fight on to Denver.
11. They are mad that everyone believes them to be old, white and racist. They are mad at the people they thought were supposed to be progressives for treating them badly.
12. And finally, they are angry because they feel they are held hostage by the party by their reproductive organs.
These angry people have nowhere else to go. So the safe expectation is that they will fall in line without much kicking and screaming. And that, ultimately, is why many of them are kicking and screaming. Yes, they’re going to vote for Obama. Of course they’ll vote for him. The truth is, they’ll probably love voting for him. But after what they feel has been done to them — the way in which they were written off, marginalized and resented, their hopes mocked and their history-making ambitions dismissed as retrograde identity politicking — damned if they’re going to be nice girls about it.”

Wish you lived closer to me, though, as I need support around here. Lots of former Hillary supporters are going to vote for the empty suit because they don’t like McCain. They could vote for Nader. Happy 4th everyone. I feel like I haven’t posted in forever. Summer is crazy at my house.
Anyway, I have been doing the daily growls. Also, I sent an e-mail to a cousin of mine asking her to join Pumapac. She then sent it on to an uncle of her husband. This uncle then sent her an email suggesting that we were republicans trying to divide the democratic party and that Hillary would probably have won if Bill had kept his mouth shut. Sounds definitely like an Obama supporter.
That made me so angry. Anyway, I wrote back posting the Declaration of Objections from the top of this thread and told my cousin to let her uncle know that anyone who thinks that Bill lost the election for Hillary has been watching too much CNN. Also that the DNC divided the party, not us, and we are not republicans. My response was pages long. My cousin will probably regret telling me what her uncle said.
It is so hard sometimes to keep my cool when people are so ignorant, but I tried hoping to convince the uncle why we are doing what we are doing.

The Democratic Party and the progressive movement need to ease off the constant name calling and loose accusations of bigotry, and start giving the diverse voices of people both within and without (in several senses) room to breathe, rather than judging people and groups by a single misplaced phrase (”bitter”, “cling”, “sweetie”; “hard-working white voters”, Kennedy assassination, etc.)–or, even worse, forcing interpretations on the actions of others without significant evidence. Hi Hilligan, My step mom is a puma member and she is 74 years young. she will be posting by this weekend…she has had a tough time getting logged on..But, thanks to the great support group here she has logged in….I and my friends will send ( snail mail) our donation for Hillary. And, we will send to Murphy $$$ for Denver. I have to be honest I worked for Hillary since Feb. 08 (Volunteering, $$$$$$ , Calling and doing everything I could to do. But, I do not feel comfortable send $$$ at her site. Since, BO has taken over…So, our Donation will get there by Tuesday or Wednesday…. I will be handing out flyer’s in my neighborhood and at the shopping mall over this weekend. Also, we have a Stater Bros Market who will let me offer information about Puma as long as I am not asking for $$$..So, I and a friend will be doing that on Sunday. On a serious note,
This has indeed been an “historical” primary season. For the first time in our history an African American and a woman both competed for the Democratic Nomination. There were record turnouts at the voting polls in both Primaries and Caucuses. Now, although media would have us believe that the record turnouts were brought about by the masterful charismatic charm of Mr O. And I am sure to a certain degree this was true. Yet it is also true that Hillary Clinton also attracted a huge base of supporters matching him in every respect.
There is another reason why so many came out. The obvious reason is this: Voters came out to protest the Bush Administration and their dissatisfaction. Young people flocked to the polls, not because of Mr O but because they are concerned about the Iraq war and wish to see and end to it; not because they are unpatriotic but because they have seen their loved ones and friends come home missing a limb or worst yet, not coming home at all. Around every dinner table in America and in every school, the talk of the day was when will this war end and who is best qualifed to end it. As PUMA’S our choice is clear: The one person best equipped to end the war is Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Still, there is another reason why this Primary cycle has excited so many and kept so many of us glued to our tv sets… and it is the one reason that has been so overlooked throughout this race; and that is the issue over Florida and Michigan. Howard Dean has miscalculated the results of his actions and now he is paying the price for his foolhearty decision not to seat Florida and Michigan. History will not forget and will long remember what he did to disenfranchise the many for the sake of the few. And we, my dear friends are part of that history.
In an attempt to unify the Party, Howard Dean has torn the tent asunder and ripped it in two. So if anyone ask you why have we coalesed in June of this year, reply, we were patiently awaiting the results of the May 31st DNC meeting and the resolution we were promised. Instead we were betrayed yet one more time. And THAT is unforgivable.
I truly believe, that none of us would be here if that disception had not occured. I truly believe that without Howard Dean’s intervention, WE THE PEOPLE would have been willing to wait another week or so to see how the SuperDelegates voted. I truly believe that had Hillary lost in a fair and equatable manner, we may have been disappointed—yes, but we would not have been angry.
But that is not what happened.
And for that, history will recored this election season as one of the worst blunders made by a party that all too often shots itself in the foot to spit its face or as they say, creates a circular firing squad. In trying to unite the Party, Mr Dean has forgotten about one of its key components:

Jeremy-There is a beautiful mural painted on the outside of the museum near here in Lake Whitney. I am also only a few miles from the famous courthouse in Hillsboro that Willie Nelson helped to rebuild after it burned. Also not much further is Willie Nelson’s bio fuel station and concert hall that just opened today.

I look but didn’t see it. Took 288 to 59 and then took the Elgin exit. Drove around in that neighborhood. Elgin to Bagby. Up Travis to 45. Then back to Elgin past bagby and ended up in the Montrose area. By that time it had started to rain so I had to stop at Niko-Nikos and eat. Went back to the Bagby/Elgin area and drove around a little. Ended up on 59 south going toward Shepard. Turned around and went back up 59 north to 288 and back home. Not sure how I could have missed it??????

CNN - you guys just don’t get it - we PUMAs will not fall in line - we will still remember in November and OBAMA will not be getting our votes - this is more than just anger at the way Hillary was treated - this is about protesting the whole DNC/Democratic Party 2008 selection of a nominee rather than an election……………….some PUMAs will vote for McCain, others for 3rd party candidate, others will write in Hillary (if allowed), others will not vote (hoping they will change their minds - right to vote is too important to waste by not voting) but none of us will vote for Obama……………………….

Just because I supported Hillary certainly isn’t a good reason to blindly support Obama. Hillary was a fantastic candidate. Most people who knew Hillary loved her and loved what should stood for. I don’t know what Obama stands for. Heck I don’t even know if Obama knows what Obama stands for. Why should I support such a wishee –washee candidate? Just because the Democratic Party is forcing him down my throat. I’m beginning to think the DNC is secretly Republican or why would they be making me feel so much like voting for McCain this year.

Looked at the Washington State Democratic Platform that was approved. The “Elections” articles were interesting, but a little late for this election. I looked at the other issues presented and just steamed. Our caucus both at the precinct and county had “no”, zippo discussion of issues. It was so unorganized and uninformative. This platform doesn’t represent me because I didn’t get an opportunity to discuss them. Selfish, huh? Will, it just wasn’t me. It was all the other hundreds of people that it affected as well. Just another error the the Party that I no longer belong to is imploding from within.

I would highly recommend Niko-Nikos if you like Greek food. They also have some American food. As you have probably noticed, they are always busy. You get a lot of food for a reasonable price. Don’t forget the Baklava.
I have to go back to that area tomorrow so I’ll give it another look to see if I find the store with the mural!!!!

During our circus in Feb I volunteered to be an election judge - just got my letter from the city - I need to fill out a form & send back - have a dilemma however - little line that ask for Party Preference - Dem, Rep, Reform, Inde, No Party …next line says”new this year judges will be allowed to serve without preference, however, certain duties will still require two judges of different parties, so your selection of a party is important” - I am/was a dem for about 45+ years - don’t know if I should still put Dem or Inde - give me some advice……plz

By the way, you can always sketch or print a design or slogan, PUMA paws for instance, trace onto heavy paper (kraft paper, for example), cut it out to use as a syencil, and spray paint or fabric paint to create your own unique sign or customized shirt. Perfect for Denver. The more, the merrier.

I read some people suggesting people not partake in the “Green Rain for McCain”. Then some said they did and thought it was a good idea.
I am back on and saw many posts that say they will be voting for McCain in November.
Just wanted to remind those people that there is still time to donate $5.44 to McCain’s official site.
I sends a powerful message to EVERYONE concerned that we are a force. If Hillary is in fact nominated, she can still beat McCain.
