Beautifully put. It’s been a rough night PUMAs. I’m going to turn in and sleep this one off. Hope to see them back in the morning. We’ve all made some very beautiful memories together and I hope to see we continue to do so. I will see you all tomorrow. Goodnight PUMAs.

(And antifish, goandersen, virginia.puma (If you are reading these) I was kind of quick to respond back there and didn’t read everything as well as I should have so if anything I said offended you I wholeheartedly apologize. It was not my intention)

I saw a really funny cartoon yesterday of Obama giving a speech with his new seal in front of him and the words on the seal were something like “yes, I really am this arrogant” I laughed for some time over it

There is quite a bit of noise up hee today, Henry Morgentaler is being awarded the Oder of Canada award or his contributions in helping change abortion laws in Canada. Many people are not happy about this and most churches are being pretty vocal

1. WHO is Obama?

He is a empty suit, sexist, racist, opportunist, liar, snob, arrogant ,elitist, phony, and same old politician

2. WHO is his real BASE?

Frauds, lawyers.lobbists, barely 18-19 yr olds kid .people with jedi effect and people who believe “obama or die“and people who vote based on color rather whats best for our country.

and, perhaps most importantly,

3. HOW will we be able to tell?

The whole world knows but most are color blinded -meaning all they see is thier color ,some are -stuck in past slavery guilty, some are too dumb to know, some actually like the idea of having a stupid as in oval office so they can push thier agenda, some are just under jedi effectand on koolaid ,and some just get tingles in thier legs and forget to report the truth .

#19 faye4hill on 07.03.08 at 1:26 am

What has obama done for americans lately?

he has used race to win primaries

he has trashed clintons.

he has divided the dems.

he has insulted women“sweetie“

he has showed us “what arrogant means=obama“

he has told us true meanings of SNOB,ELITIST,S*XIST,RACIST,SAME OLD POLITCIAN with brand new copied speeches

he has shown us that its okay to copy speeches

he has shown us “how to flip flop effectively

he has shown us “how to make MSM his pet and keep them in his pocket `where his phone vibrates

ha has shown us “why some americans r bitter “

he has shown us what `a typical white person looks like

he has shown us his greatest racist ever priests and friends

he has shown us ——NO MORALS,NO VALUES,NO PRINCIPLES,NO CHARACTER,NO CLASS……

when I was a kid abortion was illegal whether as an emergency or not. Pretty much based on the guidelines of the Catholic church. Now this was when each provimnce in Canada had its own laws regarding abortion.

By the time I was in high school, emergency abortions were legal and Morgentaler has set up a few clinics thrughout Canada, one wa sin Newfoundland and people would go there for abortions, but I remember those clinics were constantly petitioned and it was nasty. Groups would stand outside and picket the grounds and throw rocks, eggs, anything at the women who were gettng abortions. The provinical insuarance paid for necessary abortions, such as life or death situations, but an abortion that was sought by choice the individual paid for it.

Then in Uni, the government made all abortions legal and provinical health insurance covered the cost of a basic abortion ie. not inside a hospital but in a clinic. By that time Morgentaler was arrested and all his clinics were shut down, except his Montreal clinic, I think.

I meant to add that one thing I have noticed myself, is that as abortion laws and eoprmissions changed over the years, something became both scary and strange in my mind. I began to notice some of my female friends began to treat abortion almost as if it was a form of birth control. This became wonderful fodder for the anti-abortion goups.

But now it is quiter, people still picket the clinics here, we still see images on tv.

Oh, I remember in grade 6, I was 10 at the time, and really was not interested in babies and how they came about. give me my barbies and I was good to go. But that year in school, we were subjected to abortion videos. And trust me it wasn’t pretty, talk about scare tactics. There are some things no one should see, especially not a kid.

With as much stuff out on Obama he should have crumbled long ago. The only reason he’s still standing is because the DNC and Media are holding him up. He’s getting real heavy now and their legs are shaking from the immense weight.

that is scary that they showed kids those things. did you go to catholic school? my son goes to catholic school and although they haven’t shown him films of things like that they each had to adopt an “unborn” baby and pray for it. that’s as far as it has gone though and he is eleven.

#42 NoMoreInFL on 07.03.08 at 1:42 am

Wow, came home and read and read and read…Murphy, thanks for all you do. Please to do the PUMAS thinking of leaving…don’t!! It is only together that we will win.

Sometimes, lively discussions…right or wrong, helps us stand stronger for our core beliefs.

Last night Murphy it was posted that MTV was allowing free political ads on. Has anyone checked out to see the length and limit of submissions? I think some of the videos that I have viewed here over the past month would make excellent ads.

Sheila7

Yes, I’m mayor!

Phew! What was going on in here earlier? No, don’t answer that. We just need to move forward. Went to 4th festivities nearby and left all kinds of PUMA business cards on tables, chairs, benches, etc.

To All:

Sent a letter to Wes Clark: See below
Dear General Clark,

Having supported your Presidential campaign in 2004 and encouraged by your endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President in 2008, I wish to thank you for your involvement in helping our great country move forward.

In the past three days, I have come to realize that you have joined the Obama campaign as Senator Clinton has asked us all to do. I am appalled at how the mainstream media has taken your statement about Senator McCain and used for headline purposes. I am also sorry to hear that Senator Obama did not stand behind you during this media and Senator McCain attacks. You now are one of many who Senator Obama has “thrown under the bus” to achieve his election at all costs. Some of the names that you are now in company with include Rep. Alice Palmer (12/18/95), Bill Clinton (6/1/07), Hillary Rodham Clinton (1/12/08), Geraldine Ferraro (3/11/08), and the voters of Florida and Michigan. I could name thirty others, individuals and groups.

Please rethink your decision to join Obama’s team. I am enclosing a business card for you to peruse. PUMApac was organized immediately after Senator Clinton’s win in South Dakota, the last vote of the primary season. The Democratic Party had already “selected” their choice on May 31 during their Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. Between the DNC and the terrible, unethical, and slanderous treatment of Senator Clinton, I have made a choice to leave the Party after 40 years of active work. I will not vote for Senator McCain, instead will write in Senator Clinton’s name on my ballot (my state allows a write in that does not go to either party). PUMApac is a movement that will tell the real story about the DNC, the deplorable treatment of Senator Clinton, and the ever increasing role of the mainstream media trying to elect the President for us.

In summary, I hope you stay involved in politics and continue your service to this country by helping to bring to the attention of the Democratic Party how dismissive they have been of the voters of this country and their own core membership. Thank you.

Yes, an all girls cathlic school, run by nuns and the teachers were nuns. Kids who went to schools run by nuns have a bond regardless of where thier school was, and there are always stories to be told. At least the nuns couldn’t drive that out of us. I was fortunate, I was able to avoid the stuff you hear about because I was basically a good kid, but not every kid was so fortunate. and you know, maybe that’s why I drilled into learning more about Hillary’s no child left behind, because I’ve seen the kids left behind.

My sister was pregnant for her fourth baby and she contracted measles. The doctor told her she had to have a abortion. She faught and faught it. Then the doctor showed her pictures of how the baby would look like and would be. So her husband talked her into it and she was not the same for a long time. This goes way back too

#55 greenfun on 07.03.08 at 1:53 am

I am on the West coast and only check in after kids are at camp or in bed. I posted this earlier and had no response.

Sent my email to Wineke today like a good little PUMA.
I have been boycotting CNN and MSNBC, and I know someone
posted a list of their sponsors a few weeks ago. Does anyone have that list?
Also, I cannot find any info regarding just how much Obama gave to superdelegates after Feb. I know there is some lag time, but I think the final number will be startling. Does anyone know where to find this info?

Also, it seems as if there were ruffled feathers in the last post downstairs-I did not read back to learn exactly what was going on, but I know many of us have so much energy and passion it needs a bigger outlet.
It looks as if organization for ground work is getting started, so we should soon be able to direct our considerable collective energy outward. Hang in there.

I don’t watch “his” speeches at all. can’t stand them. but this was on mccain’s website tonight and they were pretty bummed. must have been in regards to the speech about students doing community service. (I deliberately left off the posters name)

I don’t think anybody is going to say that the only way to show love of your country is by watching the fireworks. This is simply a way of putting down an American tradition, a sign of respect for our independence (and fun as well). There again, he (1) puts down the average American, (2) puts down tradition, (3) makes a point where there is no point to be made. One might have said, “In addition to showing love for our country by watching the fireworks, we can …” He is said not to be stupid, so I guess he could have chosen those words. In fact, he chose to be negative about an American tradition. I really think it is telling that he has a PROBLEM with putting his hand over his heart during the national anthem, displaying the American flag on his lapel because it’s not a way of showing patriotism, and he puts down one way we show love of country on the 4th of July. No, I’m not going to stand up for him and I’m not going to say he misspoke. Anybody who can misspeak this many times does not deserve to be president. I want somebody who can show his love of country by proudly displaying his patriotism, not putting down

I think one of the things that’s improtant to remember and your sister’s story reminds me of it. That while the government and private groups were pushng abortion through the system at a fast pace, there was limited counselling or other resources for women and families who made the choice to have an abortion. These women were not just dealing with their own emotional and phsychological feelings but also 1. they either had to hide it from their family and frineds or 2. they were often shunned by family and friends.

Today it is very different, the clinics that perform abortions are very reputable and have lovely offices, etc. Whether or not a person agrees with abortion, I believe every person should argue that places where the procedure takes place must meet medical standards. and also, that counselling and any necessary therapy should be provided to families and the women who go through it.

Well, folks, we complain about Obama-media. We say that Obama has not been fully vetted; we say that sexism and misogyny against Hillary (therefore her supporters) has played a role; we say that the media shows favoritism for Barack Obama, and we witnessed how they attacked Hillary.
NOW, I’d like for you to post which TV stations, magazines, newspapers, and big online blogs are Obama-Media. I also want to know which writers, and TV personalities, and radio DJs are in the tank for Obama.
ie: TV: MSNBC and CNN: Which TV personalities attacked Hillary? Which are in the tank for Obama? Which shows?
Big Blogs and sites: I’ve heard complaints about Daily Kos, Huffington Post, Politico, MyDD, AOL Political Machine, TPM, Moveon…do you find this to be accurate? Have anything to add?

Hi guys,

#773 eveadamson (from downstairs)

I have been part of PUMAs for almost a month, and I can only say one thing–bear with us. We all want to support Hillary, and we are all trying to find as much stuff as possible to use to try “to bring down HBO”. Sometimes we talk about our personal lives, but please don’t take us as racists. We love Hillary, and we are concentrating on sending HBO back to Chicago. ;)

I’ll tell you one of my funniest stories from school.

I was in grade 7 and still very much a kid, bike riding and playgrounds were my life. But I also was a bit of a joker. And we had this nun, who was your typical nun, grumpy, bitchy, and sucked the life out of everyone. Well, she would always tell me the holy spirit was going to reach down and grab my soul because i was always laughing and she didn’t think I took life serious enough.

So one night, I was at a frineds and it was late august, I was strolling home about midnight and the sky was lit up with northern lights. I had never seen them before and they were brilliant. LOL I was convinced this was the holy spirit coming to take my soul. I hightailed it home so fast, it was a world record and I slept under my bed that night and quite a few nights after. I swear everytime that nun would tell my the holy spirit thing I’d turn pale white.

To my fellow PUMA warriors.

I am sorry I was apart of the blow up last evening. I spoke of what I knew at that time. My partner, a blogger on Justsaynodeal, when I informed her what happened, informed me that Obama came out today, a week later, stating that he was in fact, in favor of the death sentence of a child rapist, as long as it is fair. My timing was terribly wrong. I had heard no such statement. I retract my statement I made about Obama regarding this matter.

I do not retract my PUMA beliefs. However, I do not like being attacked. It is disdainful and robs us all of even discourse. I, childlessly lost my grace in a time of anger and I hope that you forgive me.

I only wish PUMA sucess. And I will continue to be a PUMA, forever.

hi virginia puma good to see you… well there was a lot of arguing for a bit and antifish and goanderson said they were not coming back. I pray they do. I think they were upset with headoverhills but you know how easy we get upset over the democratic party.I hope everyone gets over it. I love everyone in here

#88 sheila7 on 07.03.08 at 2:17 am

no worries virginia.puma, we are family here and stick together through thick and thin.

#89 virginia.puma on 07.03.08 at 2:17 am

I love it here too, basically because one is not attacked for an opinion. No on here is a racist, my point wasn’t that Obama was a pedophile, but that he didn’t understand the murder done to one’s soul when raped as a child. But, well………don’t know. Anyway, not sure if I will be back later.

But listen, PUMA can win!! PUMA can win!! It’s enery, belief and action. It is the biggest cause of the US to save it. Every generation has to has to restore the US to the founding fathers vision. A tenuous task. We are there now.

#90 sandipuma on 07.03.08 at 2:18 am

Dragonfly you are right. Now i hope goanderson and antifish comes back

I am very excited. I really need to bring my GPA back up, but it’s a good start. It’s now 3.31 YIKES!!! It was 3.5 at one point–in my “good, old, days”. So, I have to try and get it back up there. I am taking summer off, so that I could work. I will be holding a table for McCain on the 4th of July. I will ask them if it’s okay for me to bring PUMA flyers and give them to people too. Do you think they’ll let me? I live in an area with a very big Hispanic population, so I should probably bring some in Spanish.

#93 Dragonfly on 07.03.08 at 2:19 am

they will, sandipuma. they know we love them. As virginia.puma said, we can’t let ourselves be misunderstood to the point that we are silenced. We must speak up and be engaged. antifish and goandersen are way too passionate to give up.

lol the best was school church days, and kneeling by the clackers on back of the pews. We’d take turns clacking them and watching eveyone drop to their knees at the wrong times. The nuns heads trying to see who did it. Oh wow lol killing myself laughing, can’t believe I got detention after church for this stuff.

#95 sandipuma on 07.03.08 at 2:20 am

Believe me when i go to bed i feel good thinking about all of you and all the great work we do. Yes we are family …and anonymous i havn’t seen V.A.Puma . Maybe went on vacation.

#96 Dragonfly on 07.03.08 at 2:21 am

#97 sheila7 on 07.03.08 at 2:22 am

what are the clackers? i don’t think we have those here.

FROM YESTERDAY’S THREAD BELOW:

#149 Fred on 07.02.08 at 3:14 pm, WROTE,

[[ I am frankly ready to get out of PUMA site because I feel no one really wants to do anything besides “sending” stuff. And each day, I see Obama gathering steam, gathering more people and here we are patting ourselves on the back because we posted another nice tid bit. ]]

This is just my immediate thought after reading your comment just now at 2am in the morning.

I have been an activist and at my age, don’t think I am about to become one… but just seems to me, that what you are saying is that there is a terrible need for someone within the PUMA community to start ORGANIZING AND COORDINATING actual action oriented boots on the ground activities. That person has to be a leader… a director…. someone who knows how to handle people and to motivate them to move. And the only great motivator that I know of is money honey.

Other than suggesting that PUMA needs someone to coorinate and manage the hands on ground work whomever that person is, (perhaps you, FRED), I do not know would have to coordinate it with Murphy, in my opinion, but only because PUMA PAC is her baby, her organization, her 527.

What I think Murphy needs, (or perhaps she has it already, I do not know) is some sort of BOARD COMMITTEE… a HIERARCHY of Members who has a specific role to play. So here, I guess I am inferring, the same type of organizational make-up one would have as during a campaign itself.

I hope you find that talent and that body of people to help you organize, but I only know that I am not it.

Also, anything to do with organization, should not be done on an open blog… That’s kind of like going to war and then publishing all your plans and strategies for your opponent to see. It is self defeating.

So may I suggest, that you and Murphy get your heads together and dig your heels in to come up with a REAL plan for action!

Note: I’ve been reading this blog since day one, and each day, I am not even able to read every post. And now, to try to find anything is virtually impossible. All this interest and all this talent going for nought… Tis a shame; is it not.

And so, although I am not in a position to help, I DO AGREE WITH YOU! More action needs to be undertaken and a real committment made. If this is a real organization and not just a one-man show, then MURPHY is going to need help. Still it is up to her to get that help, is it not!

Her show… her call.

Sincerely,
Kathleen

Anonymous, that is so cool. Have fun and I hope you’re doing great w/ your grades.

Hey, at Bitterpoliticz (my main site, you’re welcome there too) we just made Just Say No Deal flyers to go with our PUMA flyers

http://camille424.wordpress.com/more-materials/

The Just Say No Deal site has a link to 170 sites to turn down Obama, and ALL the McCain Dem websites.

So…..please bring all your PUMA, JSND flyers with you to the table.

I was just begging people to do that today so we can get more of us online, this is where people find out what the news is not telling them about Obarky.

People WANT to know, but if you’re over 30 a lot of people need the list of websites.

Hey, Kathleen. Good to see you back. Your concerns make sense and action is being taken. I would love for more people to volunteer to help. On the blog, I try to copy and paste into word docs everything I can find to avoid the loss of the good ideas and resources people post. I also try to encourage people to email me at dragonflypuma@gmail.org to be sure their ideas are passed on and given attention. We really want people to email with ideas for action items – marylandpuma@gmail.org asks and so does PA4Hil08, who is in charge of the http://pumapacusa.org site, which has gathered tons of resources you can check out anytime.

I hope that helps respond to your thoughts.

Old Dicky said that… the man who slammed Hillary throughout the primary season. I am shocked!!!

He’s the idiot that kept on putting out the idea that the Clintons were going to quote/unquote “steal the show” in some smoke filled backroom at the Convention.

Got eveyone all riled (sp) up he did.

What made me furious was when the DNC did exactly that at the May 31st meeting when they went to lunch and came back with a quick vote. Would seem like a smoke filled room has been replaced by coctails and wine.

You all……..I am mostly over at Bitterpoliticz, but what I’ve been getting people to do is flyer the world to collect more of us online.

ACTION THAT NEEDS YOUR GRASSROOTS PARTICIPATION

1) FLYERS — I’ve just begged one of our participants, a great person named Average Jane to make FLYERS for all of our 170 websites and it’s because outside world does not know about us.

You can help us, and we need you!

I personally know many people who do NOT want to talk about the election. But, these over 30, over 40, over 50 and Babyboomers are at libraries, grocery stores, hair salons, bus stops, and more.

They are skeptical, but think they are alone. HELP US reach them. I KNOW these people and they need to see a flyer, pick it up, and realize there is a world in here against Obarky.

PUMA flyers, Just Say No Deal flyers (we’ve got them posted, please help spread them)

MAKE FLYERS, WE HAVE JUST SAY NO DEAL ONES THAT TELL PEOPLE SKEPTICAL OF MEDIA HOW TO REACH THE LIST OF 170 WEBSITES

MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHAT WE KNOW!

They don’t know about Odinga, his Farrakhan connections, Ayers, Wright. They think the media is off, but they don’t know they are NOT alone!

http://camille424.wordpress.com/more-materials/

These are for those who don’t trust the media, and want to know more. Put them out there with PUMA flyers, and McCain Democrat flyers……..get people online.

170 sites have cropped up, but millions of people need help finding them, and need to put a voice to their fear in Obarky. They do NOT know what we know, and they do NOT know why he makes them fearful and uncomfortable when the media claims the world loves him and this election is going great.

2) SUPPORT THOSE POLITICIANS OPPOSING OBACRATS.

ED O’REILLY OPPOSING JOHN KERRY AND THE POLITICIAN OPPOSING WEXLER. SIGN UP, HELP THEM.

http://www.edoreilly.com/

WE CAN ALL SIGN UP, everyone can do something. THEY NEED calls, flyers, donations, blogging.

YOU CAN HELP W/ AS MANY POLITICIANS AS YOU CAN THIS SUMMER.

I want to go for about 5, that’s my total limit. But there are other people who can do more. FIND people opposing Kerry, Wexler (Pelosi, Kennedy — okay, I’m dreaming but you get the idea).

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WE ALL NEED TO BE TALKING ABOUT OBARKY, REVEALING THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM………AND GETTING MORE PEOPLE ONLINE TO JOIN THE DISCUSSION.

People were just talking at Bitterpoliticz today (Camille 424 at Word Press’s site) that PUMA are either 2 million or 4 million strong and we WANT to make it MORE!

Come on you all, we are just getting started.

You all and us………we are really doing it. Do EVERYTHING YOU CAN. Knowing what we know, if we let Barky waltz into the WH it will be our fault, we will never forgive ourselves.

It’s time to collect us all together, and we NEED people in outside world spreading the word far and wide.

Please, help. ESP. if you think you’re not doing enough!

There is so much we can do, we need to reach more people.

#142 Dragonfly on 07.03.08 at 2:44 am

[[ Barack Hussien Obama should change his name to ... ]]

Could you image what will happen, if on January 22nd of ‘09 should this man be sworn in… and the chief Justice stands there and little old don’t use my real name because you will be willfully getting people to hate me and think me a Moslem crappola… Well, what do you think will happen when all of a sudden all of American learns for the FIRST TIME that his middle name is Hussein.

They will be thinking… Oh my God, we just voted in Saddam Hussein’s commarade in arms.

I mean… the man’s got to use his middle name when sworn in, does he not.

Also… all this talk about him not being a Moslem… if his father was a Moslem and his mother was an atheist… then he was a Moslem at birth and through his father’s geneaology.

He only became a christian when he started going to Trinity… but I never heard confirmation that he was actually baptized.

Dragonfly, I’m glad that your letter to Al Gore is working out and that I was able to help this morning.

And to everyone, I’m glad to see that things are smoothing out tonight. We have so much great work to do together.

Sheila 7, I never got to tell you, but your Flowers idea made it over to Bitterpoliticz and was a hit.

I posted your whole letter, and everyone loved the idea!

Then, Hillary showed up in the Senate before we could catch our breath.

We never knew she’d be there so fast……..so happy that she got flowers from around the country.

On Bitterpoliticz, some people decided to send her personal art work too. It was cool, so I’m sure it moved her.

You did a great thing.

Actually, my mom trained us that we can’t cry , especially when somebody’s life is in danger, because that person would die, so I smiled. And Thank God that I am here in USA. In Russia they don’t do these surgeries until the baby is at least 4 years old. My son had to have a surgery done as quickly as possible, because his aorta kept on narrowing very quickly and his respiratory rate was 2 times as fast as normal. It was really scary.

We found out that he had heart problems on Saturday, and we were supposed to go home on Sunday.

The doctor told us to wait outside, and when we came back in an hour later, she greeted us with a smile and said: “your son needs to have a heart surgery, but we can save him”. I almost cried when I heard that, but my sister, husband my cousin and I imediatelly ran to where the cardiologist was.

He started to go over everything with us-aorta was narrowing, and the opening between the ventricles was too big, and they had to put a patch on it.

I don’t remember anything that he was saying; I was only watching the nurses wrap my son into the blanket, walk around getting the forms, and then they came up to me and said: “we need your signature here that we can put in the catheter and take him to the hospital for a surgery.” And then they said: “we’ll bring your baby to your room so that you could say good-bye to him”.

My sister and my cousin told me that when they’ll bring my son into the room I have to make sure that I wouldn’t cry because if I did he might die during the surgery. I did just what they told me. Then after they (paramedics) left, my sister told me that the pediatrician would say “it’s not your fault; oh poor you”. I continued to smile.

Getting through with social worker was harder, but I survived. My sister gave me all instructions, and she stood behind social worker, and every second, she would say to me through her teeth “smile, you idiot, otherwise she’ll take away your parental rights”. Social worker was asking”your son is going to have to go through a major heart surgery, how do you feel about that?” I smiled and said: “fine”. The “how do you feel about that?” drove me nuts. I got so angry at her. MAN!

You probably think that I am crazy, but on the day when my son had a surgery all of us sat in the hospital waiting to talk to the surgeon, and told each other jokes, YES! We sat there, and we LAUGHED!!! Other people around us were pretty sure that we were nuts. ;)

At the same time, my brother-in-law went to the Lubavitch Rabbi cemetery in New York and left a note to say prayers for my son.

When my grand father had to go through the by pass surgery he had to have 5 major vessels changed. My mom was in Europe at that time, so my cousin was really worried, she called my mom and my mom immediatelly had a blood pressure of 180, so she took 2 Russian medications to get her blood pressure down, but the medications made her almost like drunk so when the doctor told her something she laughed hysterically. He thought that she was drunk. My cousin translated for her. The doctor said “your father is going to have to go through a very dangerous surgery”. My mom laughed into the phone. He asked my cousin if my mom was insane. From then on, whenever somebody has a surgery, we make sure that we laugh and tell each other jokes. It really helps us. ;)

Last September my son had a surgery to change his pacemaker. The same surgeon did the surgery. He usually does only major surgeries, so when the nurses saw that he was going to do the surgery, they whispered to us because they were shocked. :)

My son is a typical 4.5 year old. He is up and down all of the slides in the park. He runs around like crazy. He plays soccer, and baseball, and he’s getting ready to start kindergarten in August. :) We are very worried about him, (damaging the pacemaker and the leads), so we will have an aide with him during the recess and on the play ground. We are also thinking of homeschooling him, so we’ll see what we’ll do as the time goes by.

Thanks God for pacemakers, surgeons, and all of the latest advances in research. :)

… Your concerns make sense and action is being taken.
========

Dragonfly, I’m glad you’re keeping track and that there is now a way to keep ideas from getting lost in the vast amounts of personal comments that are mixed in and make keeping up with these unthreaded posts almost impossible.

I look forward to the site redesign…and think the action pages should be more prominent when that happens.

I did catch one action that I thought should be promoted—-I liked anonymous’s action that she mentioned:

“I just emailed Bill O’Reilly asking him to get Murphy and Will Bower on the show. I told him that tomorrow we are turning 1 month old. I will also send the same email to Larry King and other shows. It would be so exciting.”

And I think that would make a great group action….maybe if someone gathered all the e-dresses of likely news shows we could celebrate the one month anniversary all suggesting that Murphy be invited to these shows.

hope you see this. just wanted to let you know that I had corrective heart surgery in 1970. Thank you. I have to admit, that I got my B.S. degree 7.5 years ago, I am going back and forth trying to figure out what to do. I am settling down on working for campaigns, and if I get my GPA high enough up to 3.5 or 3.6, then I’ll have a higher chances of getting into law school. That would allow me to have more opportunities than now. It would be great. :)

Thank you so much for sharing that. It’s incredible what medical improvements can do. Thank you. You made me feel a lot more comfortable. ;)

We are waiting for the hospital in Cleveland to build the whole heart–then we will try to have a replacement surgery for him. Hopefully he won’t need the pacemaker for the rest of his life then. We are very lucky that his surgeon saved him.

Thank you for comforting me. PUMAs are a great family. Thank you for everything. :)

Thanks for the link. Excellent article. Especially liked this statement:

“He (Obama) has demonstrated that there really is no position he holds that isn’t subject to change depending on how he calculates it will affect his political fortunes.”

#184 StandOnPrinciple on 07.03.08 at 7:08 am

I’ve been lurking here for the past month. During the primary season, I spent countless hours defending Hillary and her supporters in the blogosphere. The sexism, misogyny, ageism, elitism, threats, insults, and personal attacks I encountered were nothing short of a prelude to “Life in America” under an Obama-centric regime.

Two primary sentiments have arisen out of the phenomenon that was called a Democratic “nomination process”: 1) aversion to and desire for protest against the sexism and misogyny exhibited during the primary season by the MSM, DNC, and the Obama campaign; and 2) desire to prevent Obama from getting elected due to fear of the consequences of electing an inexperienced, unqualified individual, with questionable associations and no firm position on key issues.

Add to that the undemocratic manner the DNC used to anoint a nominee (leaving the voters out of the process), and you have a full-fledged travesty of democracy. It’s no wonder so many voters are outraged and feel a need to protest.

For the last few months, I’ve witnessed comment after comment hashing and rehashing what I’ve written above. In response, I’ve seen one person after another start a small blog, with the intent of “making known” their position.

While their intention is good, their choice of method is fruitless. As any experienced Web designer or developer knows, small blogs get relatively little traffic. And even if a few of the more popular ones draw significantly more traffic than the others, the larger the total number of blogs (or related sites), the fewer visitors you have concentrated in one place.

If people really care about standing up for the things the Puma PAC and JSND sites purport to represent, then they must stop creating new sites. Creating new JSND sites dilutes the strength of our numbers. Having links to dozens or hundreds of kindred sites, in one place, does not further our cause. Do you really believe that anyone who isn’t familiar with JSND is going to click on multiple links to visit the other sites, just to find out what this is all about?

We should have one well-run site where all of the coalition organizers and members can meet to share information and to post news and action items. And, that site should have a members-only area where organizers can plan strategies and events out of the public eye (that’s why a blog is not a good idea). I’ve sent these suggestion to Murphy, via e-mail, but don’t know whether she’s had a chance to read it.

Either way, if you are a PUMA or JSND member, please work with the people who have already started sites or “groups.” Please don’t start your own group, just because you had an idea that wasn’t received well or promptly by the current organizers. My suggestions haven’t been acted upon either; and, I could easily develop a site far more useful and professional than the ones in the JSND coalition. Rather than starting my own site, I’ve joined several groups to assist those who have already begun efforts to further our cause. The more of us there are in one group, the more effective we will be.

There is strength in numbers. Let’s work together for a better, more citizen-centric, human rights oriented America.

Today is a new day. I have work today but before I go I just wanted to say that I LOVE this site. I BELIEVE in the message we are trying to get across. We all have bad days.
We have a parade tomorrow. I am going take an hour or two off work during the event to pass out flyers. I work for Submarine Veterans private club, so I can’t do anything while I am at work.
Even though a lot of people are not aware of PUMA and what we stand for, we have a lot of people out there that don’t believe in “O” or his plan for change.
Keep up the good work everyone. We are strong. People will try to cause problems, we are smarter than that.

Good morning, PUMAS! My hope is that we will not continue with the more negative tone of the other night-just checked in on the previous thread. Perhaps we can use Hillary as an example-with all of the adversity and personal attacks that she endured she remained focused, committed, but gracious even to her enemies. We might all have different beliefs on various issues that are close to our hearts, but our primary cause is a common one. I hope everyone calms down and reconsiders. Let’s regroup! Good evening everyone, it’s only 10:00 p.m. here on the west coast so maybe someone is still up reading..? Yes this was my first day on the PUMA blog, and I’ll try not to be so prolific tomorrow. ;D

Murphy: so sorry you have to put up with hate mail like that! Plus so many think we’re Republicans, that makes me laugh. What’s up w/that??!

kavala007 – GREAT info about the FCC, and I’ve filed it away in my growing set of Hillary folders.

You know I daresay after this whole election is over & Hillary’s in office, a movement like this might be able to do a lot to straighten out the biased and gender-based reporting that this campaign really did a good job of highlighting with a bold, red, marker.

Great letter, diamond girl, and Hillmania, you are so right that Randi Rhodes went south on us. I find I rarely listen to Air America any more unless Tom Hartman is on – very sad! I think we should keep emailing Air America “in our spare time,” ha.

PUMA Mythology
And now for a lighter moment, I enjoy reading about mythology & found these descriptions online. Hope you enjoy them.

“Puma is not a coward, he will attack powerful enemies if need be, but will try to shift the odds in his favor and will wait for the right moment and not charge right in.”

“As a whole panthers are loners (solitary) although they do associate with others, they are most comfortable by themselves or within their own marked territory. The panther has over 500 voluntary muscles that they can use at will. This reflects a lot about an individual who has such animals as totems. It reflects an ability to do a variety of tasks as he or she wills. It is simply a matter of deciding and putting to use those particular “muscles” – be they physical, mental, psychic, or spiritual.”

I started on hillaryis44.org almost a year ago and I saw how the trolls would swoop in. at first they would say something anti-obama and then the same people would then race bait. later they would republish out of context posters statements making them look racsist. they even collected info from several of the members who put thie emails/websites online and posted negativity about them so if you did a search you’d come up with garbage. they played with peoples livlihood who stood behind Senator Clinton without realizing that they should hide thier identity and have thus been victimized. but something tells me few are still victims they have FOUND THIER VOICE AND IT IS A GROWLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#197 Hillgirl I sent you an email last night but I managed to get Cynthia’s email off the radio show, thanks.

I listened to it this morning first thing when I got up.

Too late here when it started at midnight.

More Judicial Activism from The SCOTUS. I am glad I left the ACLU. So much for Separation of Church and State. According this article, the Separation depends entirely on the religion in question.

In order to get Hillary elected, we need a plan. We only have a month to come up with and put that plan in place to execute it at the convention. We have to challenge this nomination at the convention, and make sure Hillary is the nominee.

But what if that does not happen?

Is there a way to get Hillary on the ballot of every state outside the Democratic party?

Puma has done a good job of getting us together, letting us vent our anger an discuss our dislike of Obama, but now we need to move on to the next step, whatever that might be.

1. We have to address the convention with a coherent plan to derail the Obama nomination.
2. We need an alternative plan in case #1 fails.

How we organize these two efforts is critical. I know there would have to be petitions signed in every state to get Hillary on the ballot. If that is the case, we need to get started gathering names. Come to think of it, that might be a thing we could wave in their faces at the convention.

This movement is about much more than one candidate. It is about the direction our country and the democratic party will take from now on. This carries with it an awesome responsibility.

PumaAllie,
Great. Sorry I did not get a chance to respond. I am glad you got the email. Cynthia Ruccia is amazing. She called me, and many others, personally and is just as gracious on the phone as she was on the radio the other night. What a woman! Hope you can get involved just as many others here. Have a purrrfect day everyone!

Perhaps we should ask members to carry petitions to get Hillary on the ballot in every state? I think it takes, maybe 100,000 signatures in my state, and I know that it takes more than that in some states. This would be a start. If every PUMA member signed the petition and got 5 other people to sign, we could have all the signatures that we need to put Hillary on the ballot in a very short time.

While we are doing that, we need to find all the delegates we can and see who we can influence to make trouble at the convention. Unless we have a floor fight at the convention, there is no chance of changing the status quo. To do that we have to find someone who will be at the convention to be our standard bearer. Then we have to back that person up with other delegates who are willing to fight for Hillary.

Are there any delegates in our group who are willing to step up and take a stand at the convention? You need to let someone know, off blog, if you are.

Good Morning Pumas,

Faxed and mailed my Bullying letter to Wineke. Told
him he needed professional help.

I wanted to repeat my offer for those who missed it yesterday. Can’t remember who’s idea it was.

If any Pumas have already maxed out contributions to Hillary and would like to donate tomorrow, I will donate for both of us if you donate for both of us to PumaPac.
Otherwise, I will donate in the a.m. to Hillary and to PumaPac.

Have a great day Pumas!

McCain just shook up his staff. When Hillary did that she started to win. So now maybe some more truths will come out about Obama. Does anybody know what Steve Schmidt is all about?

#220 vadaryl on 07.03.08 at 8:59 am

I don’t know if we can get Hillary on the ballot in every state maybe target just the states that will get her enough electorial votes to win. If that can’t happen then target just the states that will help McCain win. That’s rough to say, help a repub to win. Yikes! Better yet find a way to get Hillary nominated at the convention.

#221 taylorgrob on 07.03.08 at 9:04 am

I was away yesterday but Obama’s Discount on his Home Loan and the Dept of Justices’ Backlog of Cases Alleging Fraud have me stirred up. I couldn’t figure out why the Washington Post ran the Obama story on page 3 and not page 1. We cannot let this die until we have an honest answer from someone. Second, more that 900 cases alleging fraud by contractors and drugmakers are languising in a backlog at the Justice Department. This sounds like a great “What are you doing about it?” question to all candidates running this fall. See yesterday’s Washington Post for both stories.

#222 Battle for the Hill on 07.03.08 at 9:09 am

Switching gears for a minute…although we’re not here to promote any particular candidate, McCain gets a thumbs up for allegedly playing a part in freeing those missing hostages in Colombia. I’m sure more details will emerge soon.

I actually agree with Laura Ingram on this issue. The mortgage is not the issue. The issue is the deal he made with Resko. That is what needs to be investigated. Something very shady happened. Resko got a sweet federal grant deal after the they bought the property. This I believe was the payback for the property. Obama sold his soul

Good Morning Pumas!

Sorry I’ve been quiet. On the road again.

Guess what? I’ve been talking to people in my travels. There are more of us out there and they need to find our “Den”

I have been handing out the business cards and that works really well.

One other thing. I know I keep saying it, but we have to be more aggressive in our message that this is not an Anti Obama movement. Make sure when you’re posting on blogs, etc that we convey that message. The more bots that read it, will realize that they aren’t our target or that important to us….The DNC is the shame and where our reformation movement is aimed.

I heard this morning you know who says he is going “on vacation” until the fall, when 2 minutes later they reported he is going to Iraq, Afghanastan, Jerusalem and God knows where else. I guess he thinks this will give him “experience” in foreign policy? Or is he looking for allies in his new world order? To say I mistrust this guy is an understatement. I really believe he is the antichrist.

That is hard to do when Obama puts himself out there as the next savior. but I do let others know when I blog that my main reason was the travesty done on Sunday 05/31/08. The dnc is not the dnc that I always voted with for 37 years. I believe the primary was rigged to be sure that Obama was the nominee. I can no longer call myself a democrat unless the party is completely cleansed. That means we need to get rid of the corrupted party leaders and start all over. I am angry and I will NOT get over this. That is why I joined PUMA

#228 Henerietta on 07.03.08 at 9:29 am

We could make putting Hillary on every state ballot our goal, but make more effort in the states that she won. I think we can do this. It will take a great deal of energy and effort on the part of our members, but is the most rational way to move toward getting her into the White House.

If the Democrats know she is on the ballot anyway, come convention time, they will have to listen to reason, it seems. I would suggest that each PUMA member find out how to get a candidate on the ballot in their state and committ to getting at least 25 signatures on the required petitions. This has to be done quickly, the convention is in a few short weeks.

I disagree. We need to work to elect McCain and then we will have a chance with Hillary in 2012. Obama would win if we just wrote in Hillarys name. I can not see 4 years with Obama. I can’t afford it. He is too far left for me.

#230 Henerietta on 07.03.08 at 9:35 am

NEW IDEA! don’t know why I didn’t think of it before:

We should mount a campaign to get her on the ballot in EVERY STATE that does not allow a write in! We could do a write in campaign in all of the others. That way, our job would be somewhat less in the short period of time that we have.

What do you all think?

Good morning all. Just a quick note before I start work. I have a yahoo account and everytime I check my email, there is an advertisement for the “empty suit”. It annoys me to no end so I just sent off an email to yahoo telling them to change my preferences so that particular advertisement doesn’t come through or I would start using another email site. I also told them I knew that they could do this as they have a program that determines what each individual would most like to see and allows those advertisements to come through. That I was STRONGLY against this person. If you have a yahoo account and are constantly bombarded with his advertisement, please send an email to yahoo as well. I have never seen one for Hillary or McCain!!!!!!! OK, I feel better now. Have a good day. Happy birthday PUMAs – it’s my BD as well but I’m older than one month. :-(

I also watched the Gang of 30 make a laughing stock of the American Voter. They sliced and diced their way into believing that we would buy the meal of hooey they dished up. NOT SO FAST!

I believe we have to do several things to make sure we fix what is broken:

1. Make sure the DNC and all the insiders KNOW we are not going along with their stupidity.

2. Challenge them at the convention, and try to get Hillary (instead of Obama) on the Ballot in November.

3. Find alternative measures to get Hillary into the White house if we are not successful in #2.

4. If we are not successful in #2 or #3, THEN we vote for someone else.

We have already accomplished #1! Isn’t that wonderful? Now, we have to move on to the next thing on our list: Stopping the Obama nomination. But at the same time, we need to have and execute the back up plan by making sure she is on the ballot everywhere we can accomplish that.

I am willing to carry a petition.

#241 lotts1948 on 07.03.08 at 10:03 am

I think there’s more involved than just getting a campaign together to get HRC on the ballot. It’s been talked about before, but many places you cannot write in a candidate unless certain preconditions have been met. It’s equally difficult to get someone on the ballot; I believe. It is just another example IMHO of the control that EACH party has on the electorate. I am very firmly in favor of a VIABLE (accent on VIABLE intended), third party. That is another action I would like to be a part of a movement for after we do everything in our power to get that rollcall vote at the Dem Convention. I personally would like to do anything in my power to get HRC the nominee. Is that possible??? I think possible. But, again, if not, then yes, my main thrust is to make sure Nobama is NOT elected; if the Dem party can be reformed from within, it can only be done by a lot of people, just like here, many of whom either have been Dems for years and years.. or independents who still lean to the Dem party and yet, absolutely would like to have the voice that WE THE PEOPLE are supposed to have with our “elected representatives”. Does anyone else think that it’s been going on too long that our reps have many times run unopposed? I live in Texas and let me tell you, voting a straight Dem ticket so many times means you are voting for anybody!!! There are no dems running for most of the offices. I had stopped doing that for the purpose of having a voice and started trying to vett everyone running to try to make an informed choice as to whom to vote for and whom to oppose.

We talk a lot on here about obamabots and sheep and the like; and unfortunately, a lot of people don’t vote and don’t think it matters whether they do vote or don’t vote and.. sometimes that is the truth, because of the practice of the elected representatives. I am against the electorial college, because I do not like the fact that those representatives can and OBVIOUSLY sometimes do vote other than how the popular vote went in the area they are supposed to represent. I have this notion that they are supposed to be representing me!!! I have that same notion about my 2 Senators from Texas and the members of the House, even though most of them (and both the Senators) are Repubs. If you look at how this entire system is set up; it’s set up with a whole bunch of checks and balances, because the people that went about framing our constitution, etc., had done a lot of studying about what they didn’t like about the British government, because the LAWS were there so that the things that were done to the American colonies should NOT HAVE HAPPENED!!! but the checks and balances to try to prevent one side or the other from having too much power were not in place. Unfortunately, I believe in this day and age, once people get into power they start pressing their own agendas and they have very little to do with the good of the AMERICAN people and very much to do with how much more money or power they can broker for themselves.

Still, I think this group of all of us have a very good chance of making some change for now and for the future and I think that would be a very good thing for ALL THE WE THE PEOPLE!!! and I think I see here voices of reason who really do represent the diversity of people and the diversity of beliefs that make up this country. There are so many people who are thinking “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!!!” Okay, yes.. so am I, so are you.. so are WE!!!! So, if we can move forward and continue to exist not just now, not just for this election cycle but for 2012 and election cycles in the future, perhaps.. no I BELIEVE WE can make a difference in this country and a POSITIVE difference where this country really does get back to being a country “of the people, by the people and for the people”.

GO PUMAS!!!!

Wow — I see that I missed a lot of discussion last night. I truly hope that everyon who left — will come back after all calms down.
This is a forum of Hillary Clinton backers that feel the DNC did the wrong thing — and we want Hillary as the candidate 2008 or 2012.
I don’t think it matters who we vote for — as long as our objective is the same. I will vote for McCain under duress.
Dick Morris is an astute political operative and a sleezy person. He has grudges against the Clintons and Hillary in particular.
I do think that BHOs campaign is on the path of self-destruction, so it is possible Hillary will still be the 2008 candidate, but I believe that it is not likely.

lotts1948:

I am in agreement with you, this is a long term fight.

Where do we start? PUMA is a good beginning, but we have to run with it, and run hard. They (the RNC and the DNC) are light years ahead of us. They have money and they have power. Of course that power is nil if we don’t give them our votes. They act like they own our votes and that they own us.

In order to make change, we, as a group, need to have a set of goals and objectives. Without that, we are just a group of angry people griping about our grievences. We need to be so much more. The American people need us to be much more.

I believe, even if all we do is start a petition drive, or move in whatever direction it takes to ultimately put Hillary on the ballot, it will have an impact at the convention. Of course we need big voices at the convention to plead our cause. To do that, we need to get inside. They (the DNC) have already made air tight plans to keep any protest far, far away.

We have to do something to get inside, either with delegates who can make a challenge, or with something going on outside that gets their attention. We have the membership to make a challenge, now we need to find the avenue to make that challenge.

#184 Stand on Principle – Amen!!!

You presented some valid points regarding streamlining this coalition to function more effectively. There should be PUMAS who are more experienced in this field who could be doing this.

I’ve been concerned for some time that we are advertising our intentions and that gives Obama’s camp too much of an advantage and a heads up to counterpunch. Perhaps our regional organization efforts will curtail some of this free info. At the same time, so many of us are new to this and it is our gestational, learning time into becoming truly productive.

The bonding that occurs here is important too, though I know some don’t care for it. It makes these PUMAs real to me, and it’s important to get that sense of belonging. But–the larger picture here requires that we fulfill our purpose, and that’s why your suggestion has merit.

The JSND umbrella is widening, and the increasing number of blogsites offer a variety of sources for growing PUMAs. Perhaps you could contact the Head PUMAs? Your concerns make a lot of sense.

To everyone–good growling today!

A little lean towards OBAMA by Dems and Ifill but countered by WP reporter and Rebuplican. Importance of web based political interaction noted although piece was headlined: Candidates Fight to Disprove Smears, Set Record Straight to Voters.

It exhibits continuing, I hate to say it of Gwen Ifill and PBS, but pro Obama slant.

Analysis on PBS’ Newshour Monday June 30, 2008
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/politics/jan-june08/smearcampaign_06-30.html

there is a streaming icon to view the piece on the page, URL above, the stream has a little more than the original piece on the show

Included: “Getting information from the Web
GWEN IFILL: So how do these rumors get started, and do they make a difference? For more on that, we turn to Democratic pollster Anna Greenberg, she’s senior vice president of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research; and Republican pollster David Winston, he’s the founder and president of the Winston Group; and also Jose Antonio Vargas, a reporter for the Washington Post who covers the convergence of politics and the Internet.

Jose Vargas, may I start with you and ask, how widespread is this? Is there any way to tell?

JOSE ANTONIO VARGAS, The Washington Post: Well, I mean, I think the Pew report two weeks ago that said fully 46 percent of Americans are getting information from the Web, what’s interesting there is that these are people who are already activated, I mean, the ones that are giving money, the ones that are passing information around, and the ones that have really made a difference, I think, in this election.

ANNA GREENBERG, Democratic Pollster: Well, it’s different because your ability to spread scurrilous rumors is exponentially higher with the Internet.

……So I think that, you know, the progressive side and the Obama campaign are pretty well-organized. But I also think there’s a challenge to communicate broadly around who you are, what your values are, so that you’re inoculated, to some degree, against these rumors.

would say that I do think that some people can sort out truth and fiction and some people can’t. And I think the real danger are the kind of low-information voters who decide late, who don’t pay very close attention, who are maybe little unsophisticated in how they use the Internet.

That’s the real danger for these rumors, not the partisans, not the people who care about politics. They know. In fact, they all sort of have cognitive dissonance. If they get a piece of information they don’t like, they assume it’s not true.

That’s the real danger. And so I’m not convinced that people really have learned how to sort it all through yet.

GWEN IFILL: As far as partisan pushback goes, Anna Greenberg just said there is quite a world out there in the liberal blogosphere, which is pushing back. Does it exist on the conservative side, as well?

DAVID WINSTON: Well, you’re beginning to see it get developed. And you’re seeing, particularly out of the 2004 Bush campaign, some specific individuals who’ve sort of taken it upon themselves to really begin to develop the sort of blogosphere, in terms of conservatives. It’s probably more highly developed, in terms of on the liberal side.

But I want to go back to one point, and I guess two elements. One, it is clear that where people are getting their news from traditionally have been locations like here, radio, magazines. And what you’re beginning to see through social networking is they’re getting a lot of their news from their friends, right? That’s a very different context.

And, again, going to what Anna was saying, the filtering process, in terms of how do you then accommodate that or know what’s real and what’s not, is something you’re watching the public going through, in terms of understanding.

I happen to be a little bit more optimistic than Anna here. I think the public can figure out a way to manage that.

But I think there will be a learning period that they’re going to have to go through. Ultimately, I think it will make for a better democracy. In the short run, we’re probably going to have some hitches on the way.”

Controlling the infiltration by the NObama camp is difficult, either here at the blog or by the emails. We will always have spies. I think the action to take is that each and every Hillary supporter should work daily is spreading the PUMA group. Then everyone that you contact has to come to their own conclusion as to what to do. We just need to make them aware that they are not alone. I have called several Hillary supporters and they were not aware of such a web site.
We are also face a harder task because a lot of the Hillary supporters are not web savvy, but we can tell them what is happening and they can direct their General Election vote.
An “Action a day” will keep this wild cat (PUMA) in play!

Thank you so much for the links to CNN and MSNBC sponsors. My plan of action today is to bombard them with emails and letters. Also, I am going to be leaving our flyers all over the place today.
Here is my problem-I have maxed out my campaign contributions to HRC. If someone will donate $50 on July 4th for me, I will donate $50 to PUMA PAC on your behalf.
Also, I looked for local Hillary support groups in my area, and came up with something on Meetup. A woman has taken the initiative to get us together and get us organized. We will be meeting this weekend, and I am really looking forward to it.
Hopefully, this will soon be happening all over the country.

#252 heysandy on 07.03.08 at 10:31 am

I believe we should start with one short-term goal and establish a plan of action. If it is the convention, then we should concentrate our efforts on that priority, getting Hillary on state ballots, then that one. I am not knowledgeable enough to make the strategical decisions, but will support the decision made my our wise P.U.M.A. leaders anyway I can. Much depends on resources, contacts, and workers, of course.

#253 hillaryhead on 07.03.08 at 10:33 am

Obama infiltrators are baiting honest fervent PUMAS on blogs everywhere; they are usually clothed in inarticulate sheep’s clothing but occassionally communicate fairly articulately. Whenever they do it is always in a baiting form; Pumas know the difference between tainted bait, who is behind it, and don’t go for the bait that could make them sick.

PUMA POWER is exploding: hounds, “sheep”, spies, cannot follow Pumas into the voting booth, or invade their lair (Pumas are too dang smart for that).

I would like to take you up on that offer as I have plans first thing tomorrow morning to donate to both reducing HRC’s debt along with doanting to PUMA PAC.

#254 Just like everything else, Nobama will make a half-hearted rejection of this action, after the dust settles. It will mean nothing, and that’s because behind the scenes, he is probably fist-bumping Michelle. I apologize if this comment offends anyone.

Murphy has asked that we email her concerns about trolls and let her handle it. Just do not allow yourself to be provoked. You do not have to respond to or do anything you are uncomfortable with. Keep focused on positive action.

hillaryhead on 07.03.08 at 10:33 am Obama infiltrators are baiting honest fervent PUMAS on blogs everywhere; they are usually clothed in inarticulate sheep’s clothing but occassionally communicate fairly articulately.

******************************************
2 to watch out for is on the gretawire blog at fox. Tyrone and DNNC. Very bad. I do believe they are paid by the Obama camp to bring blog sites down that tend to lean towards Clinton and McCain. It actually worked at fox. They blogged such offensive stuff that fox no longer lets you blog without moderation. It takes forever for your comment to post if it posts at all.

Remember they are bringing Clinton friendly blogs down. But I don’t know how to combat it.

I would like to talk about that Black National Anthem thing.. Who cares. However is the convention going to be like this?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,375164,00.html

We are not adopting it. She gave it a shot and it didn’t touch our harts like she thought it would. OK.

I feel about it the same as I do about that Black Power thing that happened at the Olympics. Shouldn’t of don it thats all.
http://www.popartuk.com/sport/mexico-city-olympics-pp30691-poster.asp

Its a protest of some type not a revolution.

I am not butt hurt over it. It is just more childish pie throwing.

When I was a teenager I did a lot of dumb stuff to rebel. Funny hair cuts loud Heavy Metal music, grungy cloths.

I don’t knock it. However no one really started to listen until I showed I was worth listening to. Not just another complainer. I needed to prove I wanted justice and not a free ride. In your face protesting can turn people off and then they can’t hear you. The wont..

As a site rep for my union I must discern between complaints that fall under the contract and things that are out of our hands.

More often than not I play a bar tender and you can cry on my shoulder. Even that acknowledgment of there concern give it and them dignity. Thats all most of us are after.

All concerns and protests should be respected however you must show me why what you are saying is impotent not how cute you can be about your protest.

I am very concerned about the impact these type of stunts are having on my hart let alone America.

I have to keep telling myself “Not every person concerned with civil rights approves of the stuff”.

Don’t loose your head shampoovta.

It is yucky and I don’t like the feelings it brings up. I keep finding my self on the wrong team. Not by choice. Frustrating!

I’m on your side just put the pie down.

I was so happy to check in this morning and see you had come back to post! Please stick around, you are a respeted Puma member and always will be. We need you! Don’t let a little fur fluffling set you off track. It’s what Pumas do sometimes, especially if they work together for “the kill” – they tend to fight over it and bat at each other and snarl a bit. But they are still one big happy family with one mission – to survive and prosper in their environment. Our environment is a nasty, nasty one – politics. And there will certainly be some fur fluffing moments because of all the passion surrounding the subject, just hopefully not so much among our members because of all the eyes that are now upon us. There are Puma hunters out there, just waiting to catch us and bring us down. We must always be alert to that fact and put forth our bestest Puma behavior at all times. ;)

#252 heysandy on 07.03.08 at 10:31 am I believe we should start with one short-term goal and establish a plan of action.

——————————–

There is a well-organized group out there intent on making sure that Sen Clinton gets her roll call at the Convention – in my opinion, we should support this effort whole heartedly as Pumas until the Convention. If Dean and company manage to dissallow her roll call, it’s not only an insult to all 18 million of her voters, but it will take away the history of her being the first ever woman POTUS candidate to have her name called in a roll call at a major party Convention. That’s a MAJOR step for women even if she does not get the nomination!! So don’t forget to give them as much love as you possibly can and afford to:

Pumas, Heidi Li has a rather good list of links/reasonon her blog about donating to retire Sen Clinton’s debt as well as for donating to other Puma related causes and political campaigns. But as she reminds us – make sure you’re donating to your own savings FIRST and foremost. We do not want anyone to get into financial straits due to your donating to all our causes! Do what you can – even if it’s a $1 or $5 donation – it adds up.

#265 barbe on 07.03.08 at 11:15 am

I am all for taking this to the convention and trying to make Hillary the nominee. She will always be my first choice. If that doesn’t work then I will be voting for McCain. He is moderate enough not to mess with women’s rights but strong enough to keep us safe here at home. He is not a second bush. Hillary would have kept us safe but Obama would but us in more danger. I myself will not take a chance of writing in Hillary’s name just to see Obama elected. 2012 will be Hillary’s last chance to lead this nation. So if the convention does not work then we must vote McCain and give Hillary another chance in 2012

Murphy – Love the kittens!

My thought for the day!

I think that if we stress the issue of televised DEBATES more, between BO and McC, getting BO to reveal himself for the ‘empty suit’ that he truly is, it may assist in exposing the Emporer’s New Clothes!

This issue seems to have been buried prematurely, IMO!

Thanks -

morning all.
I saw that Bommy and Dnc arent doing so good. McCain and Rpc in May made 45.9 Million and Dnc and u know who made 28.1 Yesssss. Maybe those supporters of Hillarys ment business. I hope so I think DNC only made 4 or 5 million. Our disconnect made a difference I hope.

#268 jane-pa on 07.03.08 at 11:31 am

#266 Gordana I agree they used to every blog hound Hillary for stuff they knew was comeing. I think if we blog everywhere “Why not debates” or He said he would debate McCain and look forward to it. When will that be. Just hound them yes?

#269 barbe on 07.03.08 at 11:34 am

jane-pa. I heard Obama. He said “I will debate John McCain anytime and anywhere. Everyone heard that.
Another Obama lie.

Will you repost this upstairs?

We have a new DENVER post up.

Thanks.

If you’re not upstairs yet, get going!

Good morning PUMAS, I have to share this with you guys. Last night I went to go see my best friend perform comedy at the Improve in Miami, Fl. There were other comedians as well. One of the other comedians started talking about Obama and how the only way he would NOT be president is if the White folks were racist – REALLY? You know – he made it sound funny but it wasn’t to me. Only made me cringe. Then came another Comedian and said how the OLD Horse had been shot and is dead – when everyone was wondering what he was talking about he said “you know Hillary Clinton” then he asked if there were *61 supporters in the room – maybe 20 people cheered and then he asked if we were aware that HILLARY LOST. That’s when I lost it. I screamed out “She didn’t lose!” Then he told me that I was the only one who thought so and then I said “Yeah, me and another 18 million, then he told me “shut the fu.. up bitch” – then I screamed out again – “HILLARY WON” and again he said, shut the F up bitch. Everyone laughed, then he asked who was voting for MCCAIN and I screamed – Let it rain McCain, of course his brilliant answer was “oh you again, shut up”

I had gone with some friends and after the show I was still livid! My friends started asking me questions, u see they have not been following this DNC tragedy, nor do they even care about politics. Well, by the time we finished our conversation 1 hour later, those two friends want me to send them information on PUMA and one will be going to the Mall with me to pass out flyers.

I thank those two ignorant comedians. They brought it up and now we have 2 more PUMA supporters. They are just shooting themselves in the foot, day after day.

RISE PUMAS, RISE!

Hello everyone, I just got back to the states after a year abroad. After all of the media coverage promoting Obama, I have actually been surprised to find a number of my liberal friends not jumping on the Obama bandwagon. I am actually starting to hope that all of the party’s machinations to hand Obama the nomination will cost the Democratic party the presidential election. I am so happy to have found this blog and this group.

#274 hillstheone on 07.03.08 at 1:21 pm

Hi PUMA’s,
I’m a newbie, from yesterday. I’m glad everyone has patched things up.

Bad news: Both Time magazine and Rolling Stone have cover pictures of Obama on the current issues out on the street. The RS cover made him look all shy & bashful, “aw, shucks.”

Interesting news: CNN story here says “Americans cool to Michelle Obama”
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/02/poll-shows-americans-cool-to-michelle-obama/

Good news: Murphy, there will be way more than 50 PUMA members showing up in Denver!!!

Lioness: I liked your comment (you just returned from a year abroad), it reminded me one of my all-time favorite posts I have read these last few months was a poster from somewhere in Europe (I forget where), said: “Only in America could this (nomination of Obama) happen!”

DRAGONFLY: I don’t know you but I already love you. THANK YOU for posting the info about advertizers / Olbermann!!!
p.s. Dragonflies are my favorite totem…& they follow me around! ;) I have taken pictures of dragonflies & should send you one.

#275 Dragonfly on 07.03.08 at 1:24 pm

Hello, hillstheone! Welcome! I would love a pic of a dragonfly. I found dragonfly stamps at the post office website and am ordering some.

We must have been meant to be friends. The Dragonfly totem reminds not to be confused by illusions but to watch for the truth. Keep blogging and my email is dragonflypuma@gmail.com.

Dragonfly ;-)

mimi1020, still here? I am so glad you stood up for what was right! I wish someone else had supported you, but what a great thing that your friends listened. You rock!

You are right on. I’ve been saying this for days, almost afraid to sound like a broken record for doing so. I’ve been pushing the debate issue myself with emails to the media, Obama, the DNC, John McCain, and anyone else I can think of. Email me if you want (firebellepuma@gmail.com) and I’ll send you copies of some of the things I wrote.

Tonight (July 2) on Lou Dobbs a very well spoken African American lady (Carol Swain) who is a law professor at Vanderbuilt was talking about how she is an undecided voter because she is not comfortable with the flip flopping of Obama. She was interrupted by this black dude who more or less was putting her down for expressing her views. I don’t know if anyone else saw this, but I am going to write Carol and tell her that she was very articulate in expressing her concerns about Obama. Here is her web site if anyone else wants to write and thank her.
