it was great. by your answers, you're upset with the dnc more than you are with
obama. so why are you so hateful on HIM?

Me thinks it's racism for sure, but from what i've so easily gathered in the last
few minutes on line, you're actually a republican all along!

well, that no surprise.

your millions strong is a really FATT joke. obama leads by a WIDE margin. see that?

whitey! if you were any pastier you'd flake away in the wind. soon, i am sure.

--from Liz
(another whitey!)

BARACK OBAMA RECEIVED A DEEPLY DISCOUNTED INTEREST RATE ON HIS $1.32 MILLION MORTGAGE FROM A POLITICALLY CONNECTED SUB-PRIME LENDING COMPANY, ACCORDING TO THE WASHINGTON POST AND ALL MAJOR NEWS OUTLETS. FROM THE POST ARTICLE:

“‘The real question is: Were congressmen getting unique treatment that others weren’t getting?’ associate law professor Adam J. Levitin, a credit specialist at Georgetown University Law Center, said about the Countrywide loans. ‘Do they do business like that for people who are not congressmen? If they don’t, that’s a problem.’ “. . .

“‘It’s certainly safe to say that this borrower [U.S. Senator Barack Obama] did better than average,’ said Keith Gumbinger, an HSH vice president, noting that consumer rates vary widely. ‘It’s a good deal.”  . . .

“Jumbo loans are for amounts up to $650,000, but the Obamas’ $1.32 million loan was so large that few comparables are available. Mortgage specialists say that many high-end buyers pay cash.” . . .

“Since 1990, Northern Trust employees have donated more than $739,000 to federal campaigns, including $71,000 to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

“Obama’s house purchase has been a source of controversy. In 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that on the day of the closing, the wife of Obama’s longtime friend and fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko closed on an adjoining lot that had been the estate’s side yard.

The Obamas bought the house for $300,000 less than the asking price of $1.95 million, while Rezko’s wife, Rita, bought the neighboring lot for the full asking price of $625,000. Rita Rezko later sold a portion of the undeveloped lot to the Obamas, enlarging the senator’s yard.

Tony Rezko already had been linked to a grand jury investigation involving public corruption. Last month, he was convicted of 16 counts in an influence-peddling scheme that reached the highest levels of Illinois state government.”

OBAMA SUPPORTERS, CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?!?

#236 Fred… I understand completely your point of going “big”… and here is my answer:

1) Until this coalition began coordinated efforts between these blogs, we could NOT get our message out… no matter how “news-worthy” it was.

Now we are getting coverage, dedicated blogs on more major news services.

2) To play into the smear campaign is exactly what Obama’s camp and the DNC would like us to do. (makes us look like a bunch of finaticals… just like they have done) It is back-firing on them, now.

PUMAs are Not the “uneducated, backwoods, bitter lot that they want to make us out to be. Conversely… we have been educated on the controversies of Obama looming since last year… we could not get heard because of the Smear campaign going on from the Obama camp to quash the information.

I don’t know exactly how you envision this “library” of information on Obama being run, but the Obama camp would like nothing better than to have an “open-access site” that would post garbage and pin it on PUMAS.

We are smarter, now… we have learned from the best on how not to be at “integrity”… it is biting them in the rear now and the news is:

There are far more people out there than Obama, the DNC and the Media are reporting that are saying:

… “pssst, I won’t vote for him, either”…

…we are just the voice of a coalition, seen and unseen…

…We don’t have to keep postng the “bad news” about Obama… he is bad news… people are not as stupid as he and the DNC make them out to be…

… and when you play around with people’s democracy… in America… you WILL get burned!

#2 wontbackdown on 07.02.08 at 1:39 pm

This new post is exactly the hypocracy that he is being found out about… Now the major news organizations are strating to expose hin..

Why Now? because of this site and hundreds of others, blogging their hearts out, writing letters, and doing the grassroots thing around that “machine” that is starting to to need more than a little oil, filter, and plug job!

is this the new upstairs?

#4 Fred on 07.02.08 at 1:41 pm

I think i found the stairs all by myself. I was upstairs - the mortgage fiasco with Resko was out about two weeks ago on either CNN or Fox.. I think CNN. It showed Obama’s MONSTER MANSION that he calls home.. these are the same people trying to tell us that they are ordinary folks like us. What an insult.

I am faxing to protest Wisconsin Dem Party bullying of” Debra Bartoshevic as a Delegate for Hillary Clinton. Senator Obama’s tactics are anti-democratic “

#5 Lorey on 07.02.08 at 1:42 pm

So that’s how it works, the more money you have the better deals you get. If you don’t have money you get ripped off. Hum!!! interesting….

So Nobama got a great deal both with the mortgage home and with the land owner that was no other than his pal Rezko.

I say that this guy is disqualified to be president because at a minimum he has very bad judgment. Imagine this character answering a 3:00a.m. call.

God have mercy.

I’m wondering if we need to focus more on people outside of the internet. Those who feel shammed by the DNC but don’t know what else to do. We need more demanding voices before August.

Does anyone here live in / near San Diego? Let’s get together and hit all the summer festivity venues in this, and surrounding counties. There are literally thousands of vistors to this city at any given time, especially during the summer months.

#7 nighteyes on 07.02.08 at 1:45 pm

I am a new member of this PUMAPAC. I live in CA and hve always been an independent or “declined to state” voter. I marched against the Iraq war even when my strong, loyal democratic representative was for it. I supported our efforts in Afghanistan and still sadly but vividly remember 9/11!

I voted for Gore, and just barely supported Kerry with a vote and donation to get Bush out of the WH but 51% of Americans said he was no problem; I am starting to get over Bush as I have with a few others, including the Iraq war vote issue.

now…to get real here..

I have been supporting Hillary for over a year now even though she was not my first choice; my first choice was Evan Bayh from Indiana. Yes, he was there for just a few months. I did not like any of the 17 candidates with the exception of Biden, Hillary and McCain. But I gave all to Hillary once I met her and saw her in the debates. I campaigned in many states for her, the last one in Montana. I needed a month to just “get over it” and assess my feelings and while I have gotten over the initial anger, I have become more determined.

But today I join PUMA PAC officially; I like being in a PAC and I will lobby anybody who I can do protect the PUMAs from “The Hounds of Obamaville”

———————————–

Fred. I have to say. I do agree with a lot of your viewpoints and have actually been feeling that a bit lately as well - are we doing enough, or are we just repeating the same mantra over and over and having it fall on deaf ears as you put it. Successful grass roots efforts have to at some point physically be out and about, in the streets, making a very visible statement of cause. Visibility makes people have to face us, have to listen to us, have to actually think about what we’re saying. It is so easy to just delete an email, ignore a fax or letter - and therefore ignore the message, especially if it is one they are not keen on hearing. We seem to be falling into the trap, here in our safe blogging world, where many of the very people we need to ‘reach’ are never going to see/hear our message. We need to be physically organizing and mobilizing, we need to be actually knocking on the DNC’s door (in Chicago) requesting meetings with them to air our complaints, we need to be holding motivated and loud demonstrations (in numbers large enough to be noticed) at events large and small. Indeed, this is precisely how the BO campaign has gotten as far as it has - by physically getting out there among the people. So we need to be fighting fire with fire (sorry about the old cliche but it seems to fit). At least some of the money that we’re putting into P.U.M.A. PAC could be and should be used for these purposes - to actually get boots on the ground across the country in our efforts.

But we also need to keep in mind that we are still in the initial growing stages, so this blog - as a place to throw out ideas and such, and the efforts of our members in posting flyers and writing letters to editors, etc - is also of much value to our efforts. But I do agree that it is soon becoming time to get off the blog and into the streets so our Growls will actually be heard by the very folks who really do need to hear them! And so they cannot ignore us!

#10 DancesWithPumas on 07.02.08 at 1:46 pm

By the way… Obama’s mortgage deal has been in the news for weeks now… so “breaking, breaking” seems sorta umm… dated.

#13 antifish on 07.02.08 at 1:49 pm

Fred,

There are many websites already in existence which are dedicated to archiving negative information on Obama. We do not need to waste time duplicating efforts and I don’t think it really fits in with the Pumapac goals.

While many of us have the personal objective of stopping Obama, to make that an official goal of Pumapac would diminish our credibility. We cannot lose sight of the fact that we are seeking reform, not revenge. To that end, we must stay focused on righting the wrongs that occurred in this primary through the demand for change in the process.

Obama is doing a fine job of self-destructing and if any of our actions nudge him along, well that’s just icing on the cake.

BO’s judgement: loyal to a fault
“When asked by the Tribune why he didn’t break off the relationship, Obama said Rezko “gave me assurances that he was not doing anything wrong” and “my instinct was to believe him.” Given the range of information that was available at that time about Rezko’s activities, it must be said that Obama was loyal to a fault.”

Its not the same Obamortgage that I thought it was!!! Everyone I know lives in multimillion dollar homes. Oops! Did I say that? I meant to say that I help feed the poor and live modestly. My house is fitted with light efficient energy bulbs. I only eat specialty store food half of the week. My kids are cutting back on their $10,000 piano lessons. I drive a Prius. I don’t know criminals. Sweetheart deal? Whatever could you mean? I’m the obamessiah! You may not question me or else I flip-flop you to death or I’ll feed you to Michelle.

Someone needs to blast the media and get them to report this blatant unethical dealing. I have gone and sent emails to all the major TV anchors. Obama can’t get away with this too.

#27 murphy on 07.02.08 at 1:58 pm

From a Puma PAC-er who cant log in yet:
“I am writing to you as a lifelong Democrat regarding the issue of Debra
Bartoshevich. We are all well aware by now that the party is trying to strip her
of her delegate status at the convention because she exercised her right to free
speech by noting her plans to fulfill her responsibility as a delegate and vote
for Clinton at the convention, while as a personal citizen, plans to vote for
McCain in the fall.
Why should Ms. Bartoshevich be stripped of her delegate status? It is her right
to vote for whomever she chooses in November, as it is the right of every citizen
including all of the delegates at the convention. Will you now create a precedent
whereby all delegates must take a lie detector test and state who they plan to
vote for in November. And should any of their decisions not be in accord with the
DNC’s preference, they will be outsted, as well? Delegates are not obligated to
answer to the party regarding how they vote in November. And, the last time I
checked, free speech was still one of America’s greatest rights. Has the DNC now
decided that it’s ok to chip away at that right here and there, just a little bit,
just this time, just in this or that situation as is politically convenient? If
so, the party surely does not embrace my values, nor does it appear to abide by
the law of the land.

The Democratic party has shown through their efforts with regard to Ms.
Bartoshevich and in so many other ways this primary season, their willingness to
behave in outrageously autocratic ways. It appears as if their desire for unity
(or the apperance of unity) trumps all else, resulting in decisions and behaviors
that are arrogant, at best, and in direct conflict with our basic rights, at
worst. Because of this, I will be leaving the party as it is no longer reflects
my core values and I can not longer say I ama proud to be a Democrat.

I urge you to remember who you are as an American and not get lost in the tunnel
vision of the moment. I hope and pray that you and other decision-makers in the
Democratic party will have the personal backbone and integrity to do what is
right. It would be one small healing step to mend the unfathonable damage that has
been done.”

#9 PA4HILL08… & Fred… I want you both to know that I agree that we need to start enlarging the ROAR out in the “PUBLIC ARENA”…

Just remember… we (this forum) were 30 days in the making, yesterday…

Until we got the numbers behind us, the exposure that we were not going away… the articles saying that we are becomming “a problem, now” we had nothing to point others to for credibility… we would have looked “small”, unthreatening, and most important, not big enough to back those that may have been afraid to get on the train… just look what is already happening to those politicians and delegates who have stuck with Hillary…

They needed a force large enough that could publicly stand behind them with enough of a threat to get their own voices heard and their own positions respected with the DNC leaders and their counterparts in their own states where Hillary won the decisive vote.

We are in new territory with our Democratic leaders… But, we are no longer in the aftermath of “shock and awe” anymore. We are organizing, becomming self-funded, and making a difference to those voices that thought “it was over”.

Going to fax my letters, now.

————————————–

In Fred’s defense - a site as in question, does not need to be directly associated with PUMA PAC at all. Like I stated in an earlier post - I already own several nobama domain names just like I own the domain name for the Action Center (pumapacusa.org), just have not decided what to do with the nobama domains yet. And since I am not an official or on the board within the PUMA PAC organization, I can pretty much do whatever I want to do with my domains/sites which I personally own. Of course there would be no reason why the PUMA PAC members could not link to that site once it was established, referencing it strictly as another informational “talking points” resource. In other words, as I see it, what I do with my personal website(s) has nothing to do with PUMA PAC’s goals or integrity, just because I am a member of PUMA PAC. Now if I were to represent PUMA PAC, like putting the PP logo up on my nobama website, then what transpires on that website may have potential to reflect negatively on PP. That would not happen under my watch.

Does any of this make sense. I just thought Fred had another good idea that needed some defending. :)

It was mentioned several times yesterday that Ed Rendell took down his site or the part about PUMA… NOT SO!

Here is one example,
Get Over it: Hillary Accepted Loss of Florida and Michigan Delagtes
Posted June 30, 2008
http://www.padems.com/node/1388

April 6, 2008
YouTube - Hillary accepted & signed the DNC rules barring MI & FL !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmUVr_Qt2Wg

Note: This video is of Tim Russert interviewing democrates regarding the DNC rules and mentions the PLEDGE that Senator’s Clinton and Senator Obama signed.

And although I might be true that both campaigns issued a *statement* (which is neither legally binding nor reflective of what the actually PLEDGE agreement was, a written statement put out to the press is not a legal document.

What is misleading about this post and the video is this: They signed a PLEDGE NOT TO CAMPAIGN MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA. But the press would have us believe that Hillary and Barack agreed to penalize Florida and Michigan for failure to comply with DNC Rules; as if to suggest to us that they were somehow responsible for the actions of Howard Dean and the DNC when clearly they were not.

See the following,

Editorial: Follow DNC rules on seating delegates
February 25, 2008
By Editorial Board

<>

http://daily.stanford.edu/article/2008/2/25/editorialFollowDncRulesOnSeatingDelegates

Note: What not too many are telling us is that the DNC Rules has an AUTOMATIC 50% reduction…. but Howard Dean chose to impliment a 100% reduction of state delegates; a rule that I cannot find when I read the rules and Bylaws.

To obtain a copy of those rules, go here,

Quite resepctfully, could not agree more with you wontbackdown! We just need to be growing our numbers AND finding many more ways to be getting our messages heard out there. I think that is where Fred (and I) are going with this ‘physically mobilizing’ being visible idea. Always moving forward in our thinking is imperative on this Political Action bus that we’re on to keep it rolling down the tracks, otherwise we’ll likely end up under it. LOL Complacency of any kind could certainly throw us off the track in my opinion. Constantly pushing the envelope is how these kinds of efforts make real change happen.

#7 welcome night eyes-good group of folks here.

Thought I would peek in to see what has been happening since I have been on travel. I had the opportunity to speak with several male team members and they do not know who they will vote for in November considering the choices. One did say that you have to pick the” lesser of the two evils” and the other replied “which one is that”.

Back to work! Will assist Hillary with our debt when I get paid!

Redoing my previous post about the PLEDGE

See the following,

Editorial: Follow DNC rules on seating delegates
February 25, 2008
By Editorial Board

[[The Four State Pledge all candidates signed on Aug. 28 stated, “Whereas, the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee will strip states of 100% of their delegates and super delegates to the DNC National Convention if they violate the nomination calendar... Therefore, I ____________, Democratic Candidate for President, in honor and in accordance with DNC rules ...pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any election contest occurring in any state not already authorized by the DNC to take place in the DNC approved pre-window.” When the candidates pledged to campaign only in approved states, they were also agreeing to the terms listed above, which explicitly mentioned stripping noncompliant states of their entire delegation.]]

Got this from Clintondems.com

Dear Clinton Dem,

As you may be aware, there are a few brave Clinton delegates out there that refuse to rally around the party due — primarily to Obama’s inexperience and partially due to the obnoxious way he and his people have treated Hillary and her supporters.

There has been a concerted effort to flip every Clinton delegate, pledged or otherwise, to Obama to remove the possibility of Obama being upstaged at the convention. You see, no one is the nominee at the convention until one of the candidates receives the magic number of delegates. That is why Obama is strong-arming anyone that continues to stick with Hillary.

Debra Bartoshevich is a Wisconson delegate for Hillary that declared she would vote for Hillary at the convention, but McCain in November because Obama lacks the qualifications to become President.

You may know that the Democratic Party of Wisconson is now trying to strip her delegate status.

Please help Debra by writing to the Democratic Party Chair and letting them know how you feel about punishing someone that supports Hillary Clinton:

Joe Wineke
222 W. Washington Avenue, Ste. 150
Madison, WI 53703
party@wisdems.org

“To those who are disappointed that we couldn’t go all the way- especially the young people who put so much into this campaign - it would break my heart if, in falling short of my goal, I in any way discouraged any of you from pursuing yours. Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what your believe in. When you stumble, keep faith. When you’re knocked down, get right back up. And NEVER
LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T OR SHOULDN’T GO ON.”

~ Hillary Clinton
WE BELIEVE IN HILLARY!!!

The Wisconsin DNC is telling Debra she will lose her delegate status. She wants to fight to keep it so she can vote for Hillary at the convention, so please e-mail the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. She stands with Hillary, let’s stand with her!

Pam

Keep Fighting!

Err…. I just thought there should be a website dedicated to “capturing and archiving” all the news bits and good U tube videos all in one place… Just so, that news bits are not taken down (like CNN needs new topics frequently).
Just so, things are all in one place… Just documenting. No Blogging, No comments - nothing… Just to keep all the good (?) stuff on one website. So if any one says, well, I don’t know anything about Obama - there you go… check out everything here…. I hope we are clear - please don’t waste any more time on this topic since Antifish says there is such a website.. I didn’t see the link.

#70 vadaryl on 07.02.08 at 2:20 pm

What’s next, has this guy done anything that is normal.

#71 cosmeta on 07.02.08 at 2:21 pm

To make that clearer, THIS was the PLEDGE,

Therefore, I ____________, Democratic Candidate for President, in honor and in accordance with DNC rules …pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any election contest occurring in any state not already authorized by the DNC to take place in the DNC approved pre-window.”

http://daily.stanford.edu/article/2008/2/25/editorialFollowDncRulesOnSeatingDelegates

Note: I have never seen the legal document from which they signed, so that the wording of whether it was a 100% reduction or a 50% reduction is vital to our cause. I can only tell you, from what I have read of the DNC rules and Bylaws, I saw a 50% reduction rule, but not at 100%. But to make sure I suggest you read it yourself. It is only a 22 page documenet and can be downloaded and viewed at,

#67 I agree. The Rebup’s changed the primary date back in 2007. I can’t help to think that they were in cahoots with the DNC (Dean, Pelosi and the likes) just to twist the results to BHO’s favor.

Obama paid no Points to buy down the interest rate to way below the average rate being offered to prime borrowers…

That is unheard of in the real estate mortgage industry!!!

Well, I’m not the best letter writer on the blog but I did my best:

To Whom it May Concern,

How dare you try to strip Ms. Bartosherich of her delegate status. This is just getting out of hand. Like Debra, I too feel like Hillary Clinton is the best candidate and I was one of the 18 million people who voted for her. We both stand by Senator Clinton and should not be bullied to support a candidate who has been “SELECTED” and not “ELECTED.” There is a difference and like Ms. Bartosherich I will remember that difference come November. Why does the DNC keep shoving the word UNITY down our throats as they continue to divide us? How come the most minuscule comment can be turned into a huge racist blunder but when a huge sexist blunder is shouted it is turned into a minuscule comment? Let me leave you with this quote from the fabulous Maya Angelou:
You may write me down in history
with your bitter, twisted lies,
you may trod me in the very dirt
but still like dust, I’ll rise.

Hillary Clinton will rise. Thousands of PUMA PAC members have her back and we are going to carry her up and over the mountain! We are also going to help Debra Bartosherich keep her delegate status!

Sincerely,
T. Larsen

I know I have said this before, but I will say it again.

I am so very proud of all the PUMA PACk standing up for democracy as you are… you are all wonderful people who embrace the true spirit of your constitutional democracy as the founding fathers intended it.

and that’s from me, a Brit who has studied British and American history enough to recognise the path of democracy and how very important it is to stand up for it.

some of my favourite words from the Peoples President Clinton … “you are not invisible to me”…

this means something important, it means that she sees you and she sees your struggle.

so much more real, than the platitudes of “yes we can, yes we can what? yes we can hijack the democratic process? …

keep the change barry.

I prefer…

“For anyone … who’s ever been counted out but refused to be knocked out,” she said, “for everyone who’s stumbled and stood right back up … this one is for you.”

keep rocking PUMAs

I would like to recruit you to hand out flyers in Ohio - once Murphy OK’s it. We need a decent president for America and I know Obama is not decent by any stretch. We have to work our hearts out… there is not much time . A lot of us didn’t do enough to help Hillary win… we can’t botch up any slim second chance we have.. Its Do or Die..

#89 gina613 on 07.02.08 at 2:32 pm

I made the mistake of reading the blogs late last night. I was so disturbed when I came across the link of P. Diddy wearing his “Obama or Die” t- shirt that I couldn’t sleep lastnight. I’d love to make a flyer out of that photo. You could list all the people they have labeled as racists. There’s so much you could do with it. It may not be how PUMA wants to represent itself though.

I don’t post much, but do what I can.
Couldn’t add the word Democrat because I already ripped up my Dem registration and sent it with a letter to Howard Dean.

Yesterday sent just say no deal info to everyone on my contact list.

Hi,
I hope you will not mind a long post, and I hope this doesn’t come out in red; I’m new here, and learning my way around.

I’ve been lurking and reading the posts a couple of weeks now (I read clintondems site too) and thought I should finally figure out how to log in & say hi.

I’m from Oregon. Too bad so many voters here drank the koolaid, but never fear because our state is True Blue (as in, Democrat). It goes into the blue column every time.

I’m sure Hillary will get our votes once she gets the nomination.

Did you hear that right? Yes, I said “once she gets the nomination.” I truly think the goal of these movements is to keep working on ALL of the Superdelegates so their ears & minds remain open for our Hillary. I think on Puma’s “action center page” it would be a good idea to post the names of the Superdelegates, where they are from, background info, contact info, and also, Hillary’s original letter to them so we can quote from it when we write to the Superdelegates.

Hillary wrote a superb letter, and I see no need to deviate much from her words! Great lines like: “I believe I am best prepared to lead this country as President - and best prepared to put together a broad coalition of voters to break the lock Republicans have had on the electoral map and beat Senator McCain in November,” and “I am also currently ahead of Senator McCain in Gallup national tracking polls, while Senator Obama is behind him. And nearly all independent analyses show that I am in a stronger position to win the Electoral College, primarily because I lead Senator McCain in Florida and Ohio,” and best of all this line,
“I hope you will think about who is ready to stand on that stage with Senator McCain, fight for the deepest principles of oour party, and lead our country forward into this new century.”

Antifish: thanks for BIll Clinton’s website info, I left him a post to encourage him.
Hillgirl: thanks for the link to the paine page, excellent site.
PA4HILL08: Thank you for posting what you did today about lifting Hillary up as opposed to a constant focus on Obama, those are my thoughts exactly.

Superdelegates: Here’s the list of delegates for everyone who wants to reach out and touch someone today! As in gently scratch behind the ears, & make them purr about the future of our country under Hillary:
http://clintondems.com/delegates.htm

Also, I don’t know if this was posted before, but this site: http://rezkowatch.blogspot.com/
looks interesting but says they are moving due to hacking.

Last but not least, (lest you think I’m all work & no play!), my favorite television show is the Colbert Report. And he’s a Hillary fan (!), and I think it’d be great to get PUMA on his show, and give Hillary another “Colbert Bump,” don’t you??!

Thanks for a great site and I hope we can meet up in Denver.

I will definitely write Joe Wineke on behalf of Wisconsin’s Debra Bartoshevich. The nerve of these political thugs is beyond belief! I have no doubt that all of Hillary’s delegates (super and otherwise), PLUS those who unfortunately voted for “Teflon Guy” will come over to Hillary’s side when the time comes. If they don’t, the Dems will surely lose this election, and it is time they started realizing this. Ha! I see now that maybe Obama is losing some of his Teflon slickness because this Countrywide Mortage story is deep and incriminating. Don’t see how he can slip past this one. By the way, regarding his position on faith-based initiatives, he is REALLY starting to scare me. I am Jewish, and I can tell you right now: He has lost the Jewish vote. “Separation of Church and State” is not to be thrown under the bus! Out of respect for every other citizen in this country, we all must honor each person’s religious beliefs (or non-belief). That is what this country is all about, and it is called “Freedom.”

Hi, PUMAs,

I am at work, and cannot justify blogging instead of working (unfortunately) so …

My quick comment — Apropos of just-about-everything, here is one of my favorite Hillary quotes:

“Now, I believe our party is strong enough for this challenge. I am strong enough for it. You know I never give up. I’ll keep coming back, and I’ll stand with you as long as you stand with me.”

Spoken by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton after winning the primary in West Virginia, May 14th, 2008.

FRED’S post #235 on previous. Worth repeating, imho.

“Thanks for the input but of course I have emailed Murphy and Maryland privately. Look, I am just more interested in helping with things that most puma’s can’t do. I am not interested in individual heroism and no ego trips here. I did notice some one a few days ago… singled me out to “watch” but not in so many words. I did not think that it was worth my time to respond.

I belive that even though big strides are accomplished, my gut feeling is that we need to spread the idea that Obama cannot be elected - end of story. But I think many of us are just happy that we have a lot of “material” against him - our membership is what, 100 a day ? I don’t think so. Do you think the Obama camp gets 100 a day - probably 10 times that because his followers are out there converting every day. What do we do, send out another blog, copy and paste everything we read… send out some mail delegates/ deaf ears. I myself am guilty of that.

Do you think we can overturn a nominee like th Obama machine? This guy with his backing is unlike what we have ever seen. McCain’s campaign looks sad compared to his. I like McCain but I wish things we more on an even playing field. With our limited resources and blogging among our cocooning selves…and time ticking.. do we really think it is enough. If it is, I humbly fall in line and continue to blog and express my feelings to you guys. It is after all a nice safe environment where we can feel pretty smug to see our own brilliantly written post. Sorry to rave and rant for everyone to see.”

I hear you on your concerns and I agree that we need to be out there but I feel that blogging also serves a great service. For all the links and information that people put up, others are reading this. There are alot of people who come just to read. We need to have a strong community here as well to keep everyone informed and to let them know that there is strength in numbers and they are not alone.
There are people like you that really want to hit the pavement (thank God) but keep in mind that there are others who are not comfortable or can’t do that and there is a great purpose for them in here. We have accomplished alot in a little time and we will continue to do so with perseverence and support for one another.

I took my daughter to the beach in Seattle yesterday and there was a glassy eyed young man wandering the beach trying to get people to register to vote and vote for Obama…

Even in July the beach in Seattle is a fairly empty place. I’ve been running into these O kids all over Seattle and I see they’ve got Craiglist ads up for more workers… looks like they’re really hitting it hard in Seattle.

Just thought I’d pass that on…

(I’m NoBO from TM and Camille)

I have thought about his off an on recently. I started thinking about the number of dems vs number of repubs in Chicago linked to Rezko and others doing shady things. It’s obviously a great number of Democrats.

Other prominent dems have been beneficiarys of sweetheart deals (Dodd).

Many of us agree that there was a concerted effort by the leadership to push out the Clintons.

I’m wondering now, as part of the concerted effort to thrust BO to the top, if there was some additional effort for dems to Unite… especially wrt loans and whatnot.

If they didn’t… chances of us losing seats in congress would be dire as the GOP would hammer home the corruption in the Dem Party. Maybe united, the dems could stave off any attacks?

Seems like the Wall street types and Mortgage types have their fingerprints all over the dem leadership.

Makes one think, however.

There are at least two “angry white women” as they like to call us, in my family who are not bloggers or active online but who have informed me that they feel they “will have to vote for McCain” because of how all this went down with the Party/DNC and they do not like BO because of his flip-flopping and arrogance and sexist attitude. So, there are a lot of us out there!

#131 vadaryl on 07.02.08 at 3:00 pm

My daughter and I are planning to go to Denver, and I have an idea, I will find a couple of crazed star wars fans and borrow a storm trooper outfit. That way the force will be with us!

#134 mlhath on 07.02.08 at 3:03 pm

I just want to make a comment on Obama’s momentum vs ours: I would love to believe Hillary will somehow get the nod in Denver. But I am not too hopeful. So my second wish is that Obama does not win in the GE.

McCain seems pretty laid back right now, not much coming out of him and not looking especially presidential or powerful. I have to believe that that will change after the convention. Why would he want to show his hand now, when that would almost surely allow Hillary a chance to run against him? He feels better with Obama, so he is laying (lieing, I missed that day) low and will wait comfortably until the SD’s can’t change their mind.
If you were he, and you had the supposed “Whitey” tape or it’s equivalent, what would you do?

I am responding :
#204 ABinNY :
Last night I emailed the poster to Maryland and Murray - no reply yet. I got a reply from a PUMA that thought it was good but to double check some quotes.

Maybe, we are not allowed to do things on our own besides blogging - I don’t know..

RESPONSE to #202 won’t back down

I just didn’t want 200 critiques of the poster. Just a few and if Murphy approves - that’s all i need. However, POSTERS will be offered through PUMA site to everyone who wants to distribute. I am printing 10,000 full color sheets and I don’t want them sitting in my garage… it costs money. My concern is that I can’t get enough of PUMA folks to pitch in on the ground floor distributing it.

It is very simple - no red tape needed besides Murphys approval. Print poster, offer to PUMA folks to hand out,
ship poster to individual PUMA folks. end of poster. Need more than 10,000 sheets ? Great. I can do that.

Any volunteers ? Silence ? No one out there ? OK. I will think of plan B.

#136 john on 07.02.08 at 3:04 pm

Tomorrow folks don’t forget Hillary Independence Day and Green Rain 4 McCain. Many groups are donating $10.44 and/or $20.08 For Hillary Debt relief. Green Rain for McCain donate $5.44 or more just make sure you include the .44 cent at the end to represent Hillary supporters. McCain staffers and the RNC will make the DNC aware of our impact tomorrow.

To add to that.

Many folks said that BO beat the Clinton Machine. They said that she did all she could. yada yada yada

However, after watching the Clintons for several years (almost two decades) I am so convinced that they purposefully didn’t bring up a lot of matters that they could have. It’s clear to me that there would have been a big backlash against them… so, Hillary was waiting for the media and others to actually start reporting.

Sure she could have thrown the kitchen sink, but it would have made it that much worse dealing with dem leadership. imho

So, BO beat a subdued and measured Clinton Machine.

#138 Dragonfly on 07.02.08 at 3:05 pm

Hey, PUMAs. Firebelle puma had a great idea about emailing/contacting media outlets re: debates between *61 and Sen. McCain. We think if we get to the right people, on a slow news day (haha) the media might decide to critique *61’s sudden reversal from his any day any time promise to McCain for town hall meeting debates. Which outlets would any of you recommend as a recipient for a letter re: debates? We have to expose *61 as unelectable, and the debates are one way to do it.

#141 PumaAllie on 07.02.08 at 3:08 pm

Is it possible to leave PUMA flyers in libraries or other public places? Has that already been done?

I also wondered if it was possible to make like a single page newspaper for PUMA and print out several copies, just to outline the strength of our numbers and our mission statements and such.

Listing the major reasons for supporting PUMA and putting “remember in November” (or similar) as the closing line, leaving it to the individual to choose.

Just point out peoples options for those who don’t go on line and hopefully they will keep it in mind even if they don’t go online or they might be able to have a phone number.

Also, the mp3s from the radio show could be distributed to offline PUMAs as well. Just burn them to a disc as an audio cd and then anyone can listen.

My letter to the Chairman:

I urge the Wisconsin Democratic Party to keep Debra Bartoshevich as a Delegate for Hillary Clinton. She is only echoing the sentiments of MANY longtime loyal Democrats in light of Senator Obama’s anti-democratic tactics. While, as a Democrat, I would love to see a Democrat in office, it is far more important to me that the Democrat we place in office is fairly elected, not selected. The voters are speaking up, and I am PROUD that a delegate to the DNC had the courage to voice the concerns that many loyal democrats have. Many of us would *never* have considered voting Republican before, but are so disenchanted with the process and harassment by Senator Obama’s supporters that we have to draw the line somewhere. I once had faith that the Democratic party had my best interests at heart. Please do not hold her strong feelings about this primary process against her. It would only add fuel to the fire.
Senator Obama’s tactics are anti-democratic. His “presumed” nomination has been achieved through less than democratic means. In fact he is not the actual nominee until the vote at the convention is taken. Senator Clinton deserves to be represented by the delegates she has amassed, until the convention, when those delegates should be allowed to cast their votes. This is what the convention is designed to do…hear the choices and allow all of the delegates who have been sent by their constituency to choose the nominee by majority vote. Please don’t allow this undemocratic charade by the DNC and the Obama Campaign continue to poison America’s Presidential election and further divide the Party and the country.

Letters sent to Rendell and Chairman Wineke.

I understand everyone has their ‘COMFORT LEVEL’.

I am not belittling the usefulness of blogging - far from it so lets not waste any precious time debating this.

I have a real business to run and I have been on this blog for exactly half a day (just fielding questions here and there for staff).

I am saying : Can we get more people to speak up if they are willing to do ground work. If not, my plan B is to hire people to hand them out.

I am frankly ready to get out of PUMA site because I feel no one really wants to do anything besides “sending” stuff. And each day, I see Obama gathering steam, gathering more people and here we are patting ourselves on the back because we posted another nice tid bit. Remember I am just as guilty but I recognise what I am doing and I want to step outside of the box. I wanted to put pay for a bill board… No one intereste, I am frustrated in a HUGE way, not belittling anyone. Lets focus on the point made and the reason.
I also hate to put these type of blogs out there for general eyes..

PUMAs WHO ARE TRYING TO MAKE CONTACT WITH OTHER PUMAs IN YOUR AREA

Yesterday you should have received an email telling you to sign up to your region. If you did not receive this letter - you need to “join.” At the top of the thread, on the right side, you will find a join button.

We have grown to the point that we are ready to organize ourselves by state and region. This will give us the ability to communicate with each other and to organize around local and regional events.

DO NOT DO THIS TWICE.
BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY SIGNED ONTO YOUR REGION - DO THIS
Please look up your state in the list below to find what region you are in and send an email to the address that matches your region. In the subject line put, your PUMA name and your state. Then you can give as much information as you are comfortable with.

For example, I live in Massachusetts. I find Massachusetts on the list and see that it is in the Northeast Region. I then write an email to:
Northeast@Pumapac.org
Subject line: MamaPuma in Massachusetts

In the body of the email: Hi I am from Boston and would like to meet other PUMA’s in the area to get together and for support and help. Please feel free to share my email address with other PUMAs. (Or leave the last sentence out if you do not share your email address).
Thanks

PUMAALLIE, this is what I did. I was in Ventura last week as well as Santa Barbara, and Oxnard. I went to several mobile parks and handed out the flyers from here and put some up at Shopping Centers, I didn’t ask, I just acted as if I had . I talked to a lot of people and passed out VERBALLY this blog site.
I also sent a fax to Wineke, and Rendell this AM as well as snail mail regarding the gal from Wisconsin, (Debra…) reminding them that we still live in the USA and from what I remember, we have the right to vote for who we want, not who they tell us we must have!!!

#134 I have been thinking pretty much the same as you are. BHO’s camp is currently busy with not only sending thier glassy eyed troops across fifty states, they also need to continually figure out the media answers to their flip-flops as well as the grassroot efforts of 18 million….. My guess, McCain’s group are just taking notes right now, and saving and accumulating their campaign dollars for the big hit.
But I am specifically interested in attempting to bring back the democratic party to what it stands for and make DNC held accountable for thier actions. We just need to keep our focus and keep those distractions (I’m sure as they would coin it) at the highest level we can!

Letter to Wineke has been faxed!

We should put HBO as Captain Kirk–my philosophy teacher talked about “transformation machine”–John Locke theory.

The story is: when Captain Kirk steps into the transformation machine and his atoms are reassembled when he lands on another planet, is he still the same person?

It was based on John Locke’s Prince and the cobbler story. Shoe maker is a murderer, and he switches souls with the prince, so now shoe maker is in Prince’s body, and Prince is in the body of a cobbler.

writer4starz: He lost MY Jewish vote when he hired the same people that did foreign policy under the Carter administration (we remember the disaster that caused for Israel) and the anti-semitic postings on his website that were up for months before someone mentioned it on http://www.americanthinker.com

Fred: Many of us would like to be “boots on the ground” but don’t know where the “legality” lines are…where can we distribute without being arrested, fined, etc. Simply saying “public places” is too vague for me. Do you need permission to distribute in a mall for example? Who would you ask?

#156 cosmeta on 07.02.08 at 3:21 pm

A post I just left on Ed Rendell’s website,

See,
http://www.padems.com/node/1388#comment-1574

Which reads as follows:

1. A statement released to the press is not a legally binding contract.

2. Both Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama as well as all the other candidates who were running at the time signed a PLEDGE Agreement and that too is not exactly a legally binding contract, but a “pledge” meaning, in good faith or with good intentions. Nothing more and nothing less.

The wording of that pledge was this,

“I ____________, Democratic Candidate for President, in honor and in accordance with DNC rules …pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any election contest occurring in any state not already authorized by the DNC to take place in the DNC approved pre-window.”

IT WAS A PLEDGE NOT TO CAMPAIGN IN FLORIDA OR MICHIGAN…

And on both counts Mr Obama renegged. He ran one or two tv ads in Florida and he also campaigned via the Internet and through emails to get donations… Mostly, he and senators Edwards, Dodds and Richardson, formed a boys club and sent out advertisements instructing their voters to vote “undecided”.

So that when, at the DNC May31st Rules and Bylaws committee meeting took place and the panel voted to give Mr Obama 1/2 of the Michigan delegates or 64 delegates based upon 55 delegates that should have been in and remained in the UNCOMMITTED column until the Denver Convention, you will understand why some of us watching C-Span and CNN became outraged; especially when Karl Levin said that the Michigan Challenge was based upon an EXIT POLL.

Now, I don’t know about you, but if you love your country and our democracy, you as well as all of us should be *outraged* at the DNC giving media way too much power and authority over our election process.

Kathleen M

#157 anonymous on 07.02.08 at 3:22 pm

I just thought of it. When we make t-shirts we should have a picture of Captain Kirk on one side of the door and HBO on another–this will show that he is flip-flopper. What do you guys think?

#158 PumaAllie on 07.02.08 at 3:23 pm

#135 Fred

I think they are good ideas in many ways. I guess PUMA PAC can’t support it as such, because it has it’s own mission here but I do understand what you mean.

You can always start your own site, it doesn’t have to be part of PUMA pac, but it would still be part of the justsaynodeal.com coalition.

There is nothing to stop you (or anyone) doing that and you could still stay here as well, it’s just that you would obviously be more focused on that.

There are several such sites at http://www.justsaynodeal.com

the PUMA / JustSayNoDeal coalition don’t have an official policy on what other sites can be created so it would be up to you or anyone who wanted to join with you in that endeavour if they wanted to approach it in that way.

Or have I misunderstood something?
