P.U.M.A. PAC Responds To Malicious Harassment and First Amendment Interference by Obama Supporters
Boston, MA – July 1, 2008
P.U.M.A. PAC, the Voice of the Voters in the Democratic Party, has been the victim of relentless, targeted internet attacks by Senator Obama’s supporters. In an attempt to silence our voices, we have been the target of a focused campaign of internet harassment, vandalism, slander and technological tampering.
On June 25, 2008, a multitude of false ‘spam blog’ reports, all occurring within one night, triggered Google to LOCK DOWN our Blogspot.com site. We still have not been able to access the blog or update our members. It has now been six days that we have had NO ACCESS to our private forum. Our blog is a private forum in which we exercise our First Amendment right to free speech. We use freely distributed software which is available to everyone, and pay the cost of web-hosting to a third-party internet service provider. We know by the email addresses and ISP addresses that these attacks were coordinated and carried out by Senator Obama’s supporters. It is a violation of our civil rights for Senator Obama’s supporters to try to prevent us from making public political statements in private forums – forums for which we pay significant costs.
Since June 13, our entry in Wikipedia has been the focus of repeated malicious attacks by Senator Obama’s supporters, who continue to add racist, sexist, and blatantly untrue statements, with the intent of slandering our reputation and infringing on our right to make political statements. Our entry has been repeatedly deleted against our will and in spite of our efforts to protect it. We know by the email addresses and ISP addresses that these attacks were coordinated and carried out by Senator Obama’s supporters. We have asked Wikipedia to investigate this obvious violation of its policies. Wikipedia has been less than helpful.
P.U.M.A. PAC is the Voice of the Voters. We are a legally established political action committee, protected by the laws and regulations of the Federal Election Commission and the Constitution of the United States. Political dissent is perhaps the most precious of all the rights we are entitled to as American citizens. It is a chilling thought indeed that the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party for the Presidency of the United States, and the sitting Governor of one of our nation’s largest and most influential states would in any way, whether explicitly or implicitly, condone, coordinate, or seek to benefit from the illegal and unconstitutional actions of those un-American citizens who try to silence or intimidate opponents by attacking their right to publicly dissent.
We organize and promote lawful, peaceful, and effective civil action by US citizens. We never condone or support destructive, violent, or unlawful acts. We demand that our constitutional and civil rights as citizens be protected and respected by our elected officials. We call on Senator Obama, Governor Rendell and the leadership of the DNC to denounce those responsible for these malicious attacks on our organization, our property, and our members.

I believe that all the harassment we are seeing is because the BO campaign is failing. They are getting desperate. I believe that both the DNC and the BO Campaign are finding out that Americans also vote with their MONEY. And if you significantly disregard the popular votes, or obtain them fraudulently, they may find this a more effective alternate way to let you know how they feel.
I signed up for email from the DNC, GOP and the major candidates this election because I intended to get more involved than I did during the last disasterous presidential election. At this point, I am really enjoying the email I get from the BO campaign. I especially enjoy telling them off when they ask for donations. The last several mentioned that the month end closing for contributions was here. The one prior to that blamed the P.A.C.’s for them being behind on fund raising.

Had a conversation with my husband last night on politics. He is a Dem and is so desparate to get rid of the Bush Administration and all it’s workings, that he can’t see through the mess and vote McCain. However, he did admit that he has always liked McCain. We cannot fight the cultist, but we must try to reason with them and understand how they think… here is a bit I found on the internet and perhaps it will help all here:
Everyone take note: Cultists are fiercly fraternal. They take personal offense to any and all things critical to their brethren. They attack en masse, and will often recruit Cultists for backup whenever they need to portray the appearance of popularity. One should expect a flood of Cultist rhetoric at that point.
Pay attention everyone. This type of Cultist is among the more reasonable types. They are able to understand right from wrong, and generally are well informed and honest. The issue with this type is they are radically naive. This cultist is arguing something like: A Nazi soldier was not necessarily anti-semetic, he may have been just really proud to be German and serve in the Army. While technically true, only the most naive among us would come to the same conclusion. (ignoring Nazi conscrpits)
This is a prime example of the Cultist mentality. He/she cannot grasp anything as fact (even the obvious) unless their leader says it to be true. A Cultist can look at this video and actually be offended by the obvious. This explains why a Cultist will fall for their leader praising the public financing system, and then saying it’s fundamentally broken within a 7 month period. They will do so passionately and with a straight face, because this is a cult.

I think that we can expect a lot of this kind of activity in the future. They do have the technological expertise to do this form of criminal harrassement.
This is reminiscent of the ‘brownshirts’ when the nazis were coming into power. I guess this gives a clue at the Obamat mentality.

NRA plans $40M fall blitz targeting Obama

NRA members will get automated phone calls, mail pieces and pre-election editions of the group’s three magazines making the case against Obama.
The National Rifle Association plans to spend about $40 million on this year’s campaign, with $15 million of that devoted to portraying Barack Obama as a threat to the Second Amendment rights upheld last week by the Supreme Court.
“Our members understand that if Barack Obama is elected president, and he has support in the Senate to confirm anti-gun Supreme Court nominees, [the District of Columbia v. Heller decision] could be taken away from us in the future,” Chris Cox, head of the NRA’s political arm, told Politico.
The politically powerful gun rights group will split its message efforts between communicating with its 4 million members and the tens of millions more firearms owners across the country.

I was also over on the Resign Howard Dean petition, and reading the outrage and disenfranchising of my fellow Americans brought tears to my eyes. You were a dogged and effective supporter of Hillary Clinton during the primary race. Her supporters much appreciated seeing your humor and directness on tv. I know I sang your praises to everyone I discussed the race with. Where did that Ed Rendell go? I don’t have a problem with you now supporting the presumptive nominee of the party (although it would have been nice to see someone have the courage to hang in there until the convention), but now that you are supporting Obama you seem to be adopting the same dirty tricks that he and his supporters rely on. Call off the dogs that you let loose to interfere with others first amendment rights to express our preferences in this election. We pumas are not Republicans, but lifelong Democrats that cannot support this nominee for an assortment of reasons, the main one being the manner in which he was selected. Well Drac… I think my *reaction* yesterday was due to much needed sleep… That and I awoke with a very disturbing dream. At first I saw small twirling tornadoes forming in the skies and then the scene quickly changed to young child being led to an open window. The person in this dream said to the child, you can do it, I know you CAN… then placed a pill in the child’s mouth… after which the child jumped out the window.

Why do these media hacks just focus on the idea that some Clinton supporters are voting for McCain? WOW, progressive radio hit a new low this morning. Listening to two female dj personalities out of LA, they wondered aloud if progressive radio has a responsibility to vett Barack Obama objectively, discuss some of the dirt on him, or should they just support his every move and do all they can to get him elected? They chose to close their eyes, just march on and get him in there.
I was stunned to hear this. They may as well have come right out and said, “shall I just put blinders on and keep drinking the kool aid, or what?”

I’ve also been very involved here since then, reading the PUMApac blogs & posts daily and doing what I can for the cause (like writing letters, etc). I thought I’d jump in now to give my own separate input and to add another male to the pack of pumas.
Violet and I have been long-time fighters for women’s and gay rights, environment issues, etc. We both campaigned hard for Hillary and donated hundreds to her. We’ve long been liberal-leaning Democrats and have always voted Dem. I was even a member of MoveOn.org (ugh!) until they endorsed BO (I gave them a piece of my mind when they did that). HOWEVER, this year, if Hillary is not the nominee, we plan on voting McCain because we feel that’s the best strategy to keep BO from the White House and to give Hillary the best chances to run and win in 2012.
I hope many of us disgruntled Hill-supporters, particularly in the swing states, come around to realizing that voting Mac is the most effective strategy to defeat BO!
Together we can teach the DNC a lesson by voting AGAINST their illegitimate, selected nominee in Nov. And right now we can also protest and try to do something about the injustices, corruption and “brokenness” in the Dem party, their Primaries system, the DNC; as well as the bias of the U.S. media. I’m in PUMA to do all I can toward these ends. Both Violet and I are writers; I’m a writer and editor and she’s also a translator (English/Spanish). These are skills we can contribute. –Landi

Murphy is it possible that our membership list has been hacked by some nobama troll?
This morning my phone rang at 9:02; I answered and there was silence and a beep. It has been doing that every six minutes.
Called the phone company (big waste of time). They said they would test my phone, and I should call them in five minutes.
During that five minutes the call came through again, and my answering machine picked it up.. same thing - silence and a beep.
Called the phone company back. This person said there was nothing on my account that I had called. GRRRRRRRRRRR … I explained the calls again. The person said after another call to hit *9. She said a module was probably stuck. I said, “It make also be someone that is trying to intimidate me.” Of course she thought I was paranoid.. Right…
Has this happened to anyone else?? These people really are a bunch of thugs. How could so many people be so blind?

I went and voted - but my question is why are the polls that are showing the Chosen One lagging never provided to the public….besides the obvious reason of the MSM in the tank crap. All Americas, voters and ppl have a right to hear the facts, ask the questions, provided with the truth and then make there decision. Problem is this is not happening….come November all who contributed to this mess will have to bear the responsiblities for their own actions and participation in this “lame excuse” of the political election(s).

Absolutely gorgeous day here in Northern Indiana. Looking out my window, it is so hard to believe that our most basic civil right to freedom of speech is being violated in such despicable ways.
I do not have a fax or printer right now and am ignorant of the ability to “copy and paste”….
What I have done is sent the second half of my $$PUMA pledge.
I respect the fact that Murphy hasn’t been drumming for contributions but I suspect the extra $$$s would be most helpful right now to promote and defend our cause.

This is terrorism. Period.
As Stalin the said the point of terrorism is to terrify and seeing what has happened to some pumas and the concerted effort to silence dissent, there is no doubt that this is a terrorist campaign
We need to document every action taken against pumas, and others, and bring the evidence to the federal authorities.
Clearly this a coordinated set of attacks.
The vandalism claiming to be pumas, the assaults against people and the hacking of pro Hillary-anti “o” sites are a clear pattern. If these were done by any other group they would be considered a terrorist group.
Document document document!
Create a paper trail. File with the federal authorities on every single instance. This needs to be stopped asap.
We are beyond politics here and entering into an assault on our very way of life. We are not the third world.
