The HOUND thing is so ridiculous – I love how the blogger on riverdaughter summed it up with the dog diary/cat diary. That was one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time.

#7 antifish on 06.30.08 at 12:44 am

Just keep in mind, she will have your email if you do.

Good night all, have a great week

#9 Dragonfly on 06.30.08 at 12:45 am

lol I bet you’re laughing yourself silly about that acronym

#19 queen81 on 06.30.08 at 12:47 am

I had a similar rant some months ago on myspace just after I put my Hillary banner on my profile page, some military guy bashing me and calling me vlugar names. I simply ignored him. I always thought it odd that someone who didn’t even know me and was military and should stand for my freedom felt it necessary to take the time to bash me.

#20 matt2008A on 06.30.08 at 12:48 am

#5 antifish on 06.30.08 at 12:43 am

Ooooh, thats really tempting, but that requires energy for a lost cause, and I really do not want to stoop to his level like BO and some of his friends do.

Sorry they annoyed you though

“I was so proud to see Curve take a stand and not fall for the glitz. Nice to know that some in the GLBT community realize that BO didn’t become interested in us until he decided he needed our checks.”

I live in a an area that has the largest glbt population in this county. One very dedicated Obama campaigner, who lives down the street from me, has removed his Obama sign from his window and removed the bumpersticker from his vehicle. I’m sure his change (god, I hate that word now) of heart must have been a difficult one for him after all the time and energy he poured into supporting his candidate.

People must be realizing who Obama really is… finally.

#26 antifish on 06.30.08 at 12:51 am

#17 wontbackdown,

Hey! I think you’re on to something there. She certainly qualifies as a “freaky one”.

#35 InuHanyou1701 on 06.30.08 at 12:55 am

My mom adn I were talking this afternoon and it sounds like she might actually agree to going to Denver to march on the Democratic Convention. How many of you PUMAs are planning on doing this? Do we know a good place to stay? And I would only be able to stay for the weekend as both our jobs wouldn’t allow us off the whole week as we have a vacation earlier in August to Vegas (It’s going to be a very fun 21st birthday. =P). Is that acceptable?

#36 wontbackdown on 06.30.08 at 12:55 am

#26 antifish… yeah, she’s been trying to squeeze it in for a few weeks now and sound real DNC-ish…

…but, I think ole DB finally blew a Big One!

#45 mini vee on 06.30.08 at 12:59 am

Hi, everyone. Sorry if this is a re-post. Texas Darlin is tenacious in her investigative work regarding BO’s birth certificate. I’m more convinced than ever, that something isn’t quite right with the whole thing. The article in her blog basically outlines the chain of events from when someone in the D. Kos suggesting it print a copy of the bc (to silence the rumor), to someone offering to help do that by providing a template of a Hawaii b.c. that just happens to have the same time of birth and place of birth info on it as the one on BO’s b.c. The tech experts verified that the b.c., at the very least, have been tampered with using Photoshop. I find it really disturbing that BO’s campaign would produce a b.c. that has been worked over technically, when the document itself states that alteration deems it invalid.

I don’t think we’ve discussed who is going to Denver yet. Probably a better topic for daytime since there aren’t many of here tonight.

My 21st birthday is on August 9. We’ll be going to Vegas to celebrate. (Plus we go to Vegas every year, it just happens to be that the event we go to is on my birthday this year)

#52 DancesWithPumas on 06.30.08 at 1:02 am

Antifish,

#755 Dances,
“Yes, it’s wonderful how we are growing. Someone who’s daughter does work for Pelosi posted here that word is she is worried about us.”

Of course they are, why else would all the OYutes be be freaking out and attacking? Why would Gov Rendell be responding to PUMA with that lame (and redundant … united means undivided why say it twice?) HOUND thing? While lame, the HOUND response also bolsters our profile and legitimacy.

Did I send you that graphic I did? It blew me away that he actually said the democratic primaries were unfair and undemocratic, etc.

If Obrutha’s numbers are not as high as they expected at this juncture, we are a real and continuous threat to them. Too bad. So sad. Not.

That Victoria A. Brownworth piece at No Quarter, “Why Do They Hate Us? How the Media treats Hillary is indicative of how the world sees women: as second class citizens.” propelled me back into reality and cemented my resolve. Defeat Obama. Call out sexism where it lives and thrives and defeat it.

#53 Dragonfly on 06.30.08 at 1:03 am

#49 goandersen – how are you doing? are the fires near you?

#54 Jeremy on 06.30.08 at 1:04 am

Diazepam – Valium 10 Roche

Generic Name: Diazepam

Manufacturer: Roche
Trade Name: Valium
Type: Antianxiety
Class: RX, CIV

Comment: N/A

#55 pa dem on 06.30.08 at 1:04 am

Will essentially said that Rendell was giving us a thumbs up and even agreed with many of our points in his creed–about the caucuses for example. He also said that he thinks Rendell is really hoping for a VP slot in 2012 with Hillary…since he is ending his job as Governor in 2011.

#56 antifish on 06.30.08 at 1:04 am

I heard that the march would be on the 25th of August. The whole permit to march is still being worked out I think, but do visit the 18millionvoices website for updates about it. I made a list of all the towns/cities close by to Denver with links to hotels and motels so if you’re interested, send me an email at all4mygirl at gmail. I forgot which PUMA is in charge of the Denver march and her/his contact…anyone know? Once I get that info, I’ll just send her the email with this info so everyone can access it.

#60 wontbackdown on 06.30.08 at 1:05 am

#31 antifish… At first I thought…. Pelosi?

Then, nah, she probably heads straight for a colon cleanse at the slightest hint of a little upset.

It’s a Brazile kind of let-it-rip, blow-out email for sure!

#87 bruce55555 on 06.30.08 at 1:22 am

BO reminds me of an arrogant, conceited basketball player in high school who’s in his own little click, who some of the other kids look up to, and they consider themselves lucky if he says hi to them. He has accomplished nothing else, is not an A student, no big league, just high school. The other kids that look up to him just want to be “in”.
This is how I see BO and the people who like him, they go along because they see celebrities, the media, those idiots on CNN and MSNBC, etc. etc. who talk about him like he’s the best thing to come along since tv. They want to be “in”.
There’s also those who want to prove they’re not racist by saying they’ll vote for him.
And then I’ve met people who will vote for him because of the war and as a protest vote against Bush.
They don’t care for anything else, it’s sort of like rebelion, vote in the opposite of what we have now.

#88 antifish on 06.30.08 at 1:24 am

great analysis on Hillary’s situation.

How about if he self-destructs after Denver, like in October, when the real ammunition from the other side starts pounding him, will Hillary be able to step in then?

#731 Jeremy

Great videos. The protests were covered the way the powers behind the networks wanted them to be covered. There is no such thing as “network news” any longer. Only corporate approved drivel.

#747 Firebelle Puma

Exactly! It drove me crazy when the talking heads kept sayign there was “little difference” between their two “universal” Health Care proposals. Yea, only that one is and one isn’t!

I don’t know what happens if Obama self-destructs between Denver and the general election. I’m afraid I’m pretty naive when it comes to politics.

I’m sure that if something horrible happened … and no, I’m not wishing this on anyone … the DNC would have the right to substitute another nominee. But if it’s just a bad case of foot-in-mouth-disease, the DNC may be stuck.

That’s why I keep pushing the idea of pushing Obama into those weekly town hall meetings with McCain before Denver. There’s still time for superdelegates to see the folly of their ways and change their votes to Hillary

#87 Bruce 55555555555555555555555555555,

LOL! Those are great observations. I agree. To the young, Obama is the flavor of the week, like an I-Phone or the latest video game, something they just have to have, but they can’t explain to anyone why. I don’t agree with them, but I get it.

The ones running off of white guilt anger me the most. I would vote for any candidate who isn’t corrupt and is qualified to be president, but Barack is neither. He is so unqualified, it defies reason yet they cling to him as if he is the end-all to racial strife in this country. Sad when, in reality, he and his followers have set race relations back at least 20 years.

Pls check out the following website: http://www.unheardamericanvoices.com and
http://www.dncreform.com/news.html. Karen Hill is asking us to do our part in helping to reform the Democratic Party. I am just a recent member of the this blog site, but it hasn’t taken long to figure out that there is a lot of talent here. We may not agree on how to prevent Barack Obama from being elected, but we all agree that he should not be elected as President of this country. We have one common goal and I think Karen has some really good ideas. I am asking to take the time to read the website and article. I would be interested in the groups input.

I ain’t nothing but a HOUND DOG~NOT Crying all the time. Anonymous has some good posts over yonder too.

Obama/Clinton08, we need your help in this unity business. We watched the rally and we were looking for the Oracle’s message. We heard him say that Hillary rocked, but we need more than that. The message just didn’t have the power code. We need more visual assistance to use. Can you provide the proper instructions on how to do the ObamaFlipOff? We are all visual learners here at our group. With all of the monetary devices you have this request should be easy. At your earliest convenience, we would like to see the Oracle salute Oprah with his outstanding trademark of the ObamaFlipOff. Thanking you in advance, since the Eagle may soon be replaced by a Crow.

At the risk of boring or offending Pumas who may have read this before, below is a copy of something I’ve been sending not only to the media but also to Obama, the DNC, superdelegates, John McCain, the RNC, and anyone else I can think of.

I want to goad Obama into doing the weekly town hall meetings, where he’s perfectly capable of making a fool out of himself and showing the world that he’s unfit to be President.

You’re welcome to use any of these talking points in addition to your own.

*************

How many times during the primary season did Senator Obama say, “I welcome that debate with John McCain”? So why does he now do everything possible to avoid the weekly town hall meetings Senator McCain keeps asking for?

Here’s what Senator Obama’s actions say to me:

• Senator Obama is not a man of his word.

• Senator Obama does not respect voters who very much want to hear both candidates discuss the issues. Nor does he respect leaders in other countries who also want to hear both candidates discuss the issues.

• Senator Obama is not a man who can or will reach across the aisle as he has repeatedly promised to do. If he intended to reach across the aisle, he’d be doing it now every chance he could.

• Senator Obama is afraid that Senator McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his rhetoric.

• Senator Obama isn’t confident enough about the issues to speak without a teleprompter or the scripted words of his speech writers.

• Senator Obama doesn’t believe in transparency in government.

• If Senator Obama were to become President, he would repeatedly shy away from difficult discussions and uncomfortable topics. So, too, would he avoid talking with other world leaders unless they fall in line behind everything Senator Obama says.

On policy issues, I’m more closely aligned with Democrats than I am with Republicans. But I cannot in good conscience vote for a man of such bad character. In November, I will vote against Senator Obama.

#54 – Jeremy

I would suggest, instead of Valium, the following for Pelosi and while we’re at it, maybe we should give some to Dean and obviously Nobama is getting really nervous…

Xanax XR by Pfizer

XANAX XR Tablets are indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.

This claim is supported on the basis of two positive studies with XANAX XR conducted in patients whose diagnoses corresponded closely to the DSM-III-R/IV criteria for panic disorder (see Clinical Efficacy Trials).

Panic disorder (DSM-IV) is characterized by recurrent unexpected panic attacks, ie, a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort in which four (or more) of the following symptoms develop abruptly and reach a peak within 10 minutes: (1) palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate; (2) sweating; (3) trembling or shaking; (4) sensations of shortness of breath or smothering; (5) feeling of choking; (6) chest pain or discomfort; (7) nausea or abdominal distress; (8) feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint; (9) derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself); (10) fear of losing control; (11) fear of dying; (12) paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations); (13) chills or hot flushes.

The longer-term efficacy of XANAX XR has not been systematically evaluated. Thus, the physician who elects to use this drug for periods longer than 8 weeks should periodically reassess the usefulness of the drug for the individual patient. ”

I definitely recommend an extended use of this drug.

I’m so excited, I’m about to flyer the world this week. PUMA flyers, flyers from Bitterpolitcz in the More Information Pull Down section supporting Just Say No Deal, and I am just feeling excited.

I hope others get a chance to do the same. This idea came from Susan UnPC at No Quarter. How to get the outside world in:

Flyer your libraries, bus stops, grocery stores, everywhere b/c we need more dissastified disenfranchised voters out turning down the DNC and the Undemocratic nominee.

Before coming online, I had nobody to tell my woes in real world, now, I share all my anti-Barky thoughts and works and positive Hill actions and it is really making a difference. For me, plus many people are skeptical of *61 but don’t have anybody to share that with.

Anyway.

The more the merrier in our worlds, I say, PUMA flyers are inspiring other flyers and we need to get past the media. Get people here where they can learn the truth and be set free. Flyer around.

Use the Puma Flyers, use these, help say Just Say No Deal.

Here’s some good news about numbers.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/09/clinton.supporters/
“A newly released CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that if Obama does not select Clinton as his running mate, 22 percent of her supporters would stay home this fall — and another 17 percent would vote for McCain.”

So that’s 39% not voting for Obama — about 7 million voters.

======================

Here is Craig Della Penna crunching those numbers (at his blog, http://theheraclitanfire.blogspot.com/)

“A newly released CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that if Obama does not select Clinton as his running mate, 22 percent of her supporters would stay home this fall (almost 4 million voters) — and another 17 percent (a little over 3 million) would vote for McCain.” –CNN (parentheses are mine). So, if we use 2004 as the baseline – GWB won with 62 million voters vs Kerry’s 59 million. then take away 4 million Democratic votes, that leaves BHO with 55 million. Now take away another 3 million from that (Clinton supporters who will not stay home but will vote for McCain) and add 3 million to the Republican side. You end up with 65 million for McCain to 52 million for BHO. There is a word for this: landslide.
===============

I guess the bad news is that BO might have to do an Obama/Clinton ticket, which would mess up Hillary’s Senate career (and her chance to run in 2012).

Pls sign and circulate the petitions against HIllary as VP: http://www.pumaparty.com/hillarynovp

This was posted earlier downstairs (by Murphy, think). It’s a great video, well worth viewing:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=fL976STVvtU

It’s amazing how many of us feel the same way. In this video an Asian woman makes a comment like “They’re voting like this was American Idol” — I made almost exactly the same comment myself. There’s also a gay amn from NJ (I think) and nearly everything he said was exactly how I felt adn similar to things I’ve said. And on and on for everyone in the video. It’s clear we all feel something went terribly awry in the process and we’re all pretty much in agreement on the specifics. That’s pretty amazing when you htink about it.

OK…so I didn’t go to bed, ha ha, I had to come back and make a few final posts…gonna be a long day tomorrow! ;)

Okay, my friend. You inspired me to do another round of letters to the media (with copies to the DNC and other key players). Same talking points, slightly different wording. I’m going to keep being the burr under Obama’s saddle until we buck him off the horse.

Again, you’re welcome to borrow anything you’d like from my email. Enjoy …

***********

To Whom It May Concern:

I’ve enjoyed watching the informative political shows on your network, as well as on your competitors’ networks. However, it disappointments me that none of you have been able to facilitate the weekly town hall meetings that John McCain would like to have with Barack Obama.

I know that Senator Obama is resistant to the idea because he doesn’t perform well in debate settings. However, the American public is entitled to hear the candidates debate the issues. So I beseech you to prod Senator Obama into accepting Senator McCain’s invitation.

My own beliefs are more closely aligned with the Democrats than they are with the Republicans. However, given a choice between Senator Obama and Senator McCain, I will vote for Senator McCain in November. Why would I do that? Because Senator Obama may talk the talk, but he doesn’t walk the walk.

How many times during the primary season did Senator Obama say, “I welcome that debate with John McCain”? Yet now he refuses to debate his opponent. I don’t have to look any further into his background or his record to recognize that he’s not a man of his word.

How many times has Senator Obama insisted that he’s someone who can reach across the aisle? Yet he refuses to reach across his campaign platform to discuss the issues with Senator McCain. Again, I can judge him by his current actions to see he’s not as bipartisan as he’d like voters to believe.

Senator Obama has repeatedly talked about transparency in government. In fact, I seem to recall him also saying that he’d meet weekly with Congress if he were elected President. Why then won’t he meet weekly with John McCain now? I have yet to see evidence that Senator Obama is willing to follow through on the easy campaign promises, let alone more difficult ones.

I believe that Senator Obama is afraid that Senator McCain will expose the lack of substance behind his rhetoric. Truthfully, were he not afraid of Senator McCain, there’d be no reason to avoid weekly debates. However, it’s quite clear that Senator Obama isn’t confident enough in himself or the issues to speak without a teleprompter or the scripted words of his speech writers. Extemporaneously, he “ums” and “uhs” his way through any speech sounding even less articulate than President Bush. Were Senator Obama’s supporters to see this too often, they might have second thoughts about electing him to represent us around the world. And so Senator Obama hides from events where he can’t use scripts and teleprompters as crutches.

The media has an important role to play in this election. And that role includes bringing televised debates to the American public. So again, I ask you to do whatever it takes to get Senator Obama to agree to weekly town hall meetings with John McCain. Voters deserve this opportunity to hear the candidates debate the issues.

Thank you for your consideration.

WOW! THAT’S SO EXCITING!!! I HOPE THAT YOU’LL HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME. 21st IS A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY. :)

I went to Vegas 3 times. In 2001 I went there for the first time with my mom and uncle. We went for the weekend because I had to work. We saw “O” and “Mystere”. I loved those shows. Then in September of 2005 I went there with my husband for the weekend to take a TOEFL–Test for English (Non-native Speakers) for Grad. School. In January of 2006 I went there for a day to take GRE-Grad. School. I thought that it will be more exciting.

Here’s hoping that the new format is SOON in coming and that it consists of an END to this morning, day and”overnight” free-for-all threads. What kind of focus is that?

WHY we fell into those random “topics” as opposed to at least the ATTEMPT to keep some threads action-oriented is beyond me.

There is NO WAY we can grow if the threads are CHOKED with chatty bits about “how are you doing” and “the weather is so hot here” and “I’m running out to do some errands” or “I’m going to bed after I have a snack” —

What a JOKE. Excuse me? We’re to keep tabs on how many thousands of “friends?” In a time of crisis when we need to GROW?

Have a CHAT THREAD for those people who need to let people know their every bowel movement when not online so that ALL can follow the travails of the small intestines of their soul mates while the rest of us can remain here to promote the mission…and invite others with the same purpose of saving democracy without pausing to cluck over every one else’s every hangnail.

Even if nothing else changes we can at LEAST dedicate some threads for the task at hand and have open threads for some punchy fun. So everyone gets what they want without RUINING the potential of this movement by clogging the ESSENTIALS with excruciating BANALITIES.

Every time someone explains why he or she will be gone for a few hours because they have to eat, sleep, defecate or fornicate I think, who the hell is keeping TRACK or thinks that others are?

And, NO, Seuss quotes won’t persuade me otherwise…I saw that version of the new format with some Seuss quote at the head. I am a HUGE Seuss fan. Not only for his silliness but also for his dedication to anti-war and anti-fascist sentiments. I know his history and I have a personal letter from him.

We can be WARM without this incredible nonsense of thinking we can GROW and stay on track with everyone explaining where they’re going to be every second of their existence.

Have a separate forum for all the Hillary supporters who already knew each other if they can’t get a grip on this.

Firebelle, thanks for that letter…I, too, think that it is KEY to shame and humiliate BWUCK-BWUCK Obama for chickening out on town halls and debates.

I once suggested to Hillary’s campaign that she go ahead and have a town hall without Obama (indeed she did that on the Hallmark Channel, but I meant in North Carolina).

i remember my learning curve when I set up my first web site. I had to teach myself HTML, because the existing web authoring packages didn’t meet my needs. It was hard. Years later, I had to teach myself to use new (and often frustrating) web authoring software. It’s almost a full-time job.

So if Murphy is learning this stuff as she goes along, she’s doing a fantastic job. Remember, she’s also doing a lot of things to support PUMA that we’re not necessarily privy to. And she still has family obligations. She’s to be commended for everything.

I agree with many of your points, and I think that Murphy will eventually get there. Be patient.

I even emailed Ralph Nader and suggested that he do the weekly town hall meetings with John McCain. It would give him more visibility (something I’m sure that would appeal to him) and really make Obama look like a coward (something that would appeal to all of us).

#195 Zee on 06.30.08 at 3:58 am

pumaindy, no, actually, I don’t. Murphy already knows.

What continually astounds me is that people think we can GROW while each one announces that he or she has some errands to run but will be back soon ….

wtf?

It’s insanity.

I’ve NEVER seen its like anywhere.

Do you see such ANYWHERE else?

They all have personal touches…but NO ONE not ONE has a site where people think they have to announce they are going to bed but maybe will have a snack first or that they are going out to mow the lawn but will be back in an hour.

Meanwhile that is COSTING people who want to ACT HOURS AND HOURS of slogging through nonsense…not FUN nonsense but incredible nonsense on the level of BUSH AND CHENEY, thinking the world can’t go on without them.

I don’t care how “sad” that makes you feel…that is condescending and passive aggressive and I prefer to lay out the truth. Deal with it or not.

And, as I said…little Dr. Seuss quotes don’t change a thing.

We’re about to see a new LONG OVERDUE format emerge and I want to ensure it allows for GROWTH AND USABILITY AND EFFECTIVENESS.

It’s the HEIGHT of HUBRIS to think that anyone cares if you have to go use the john for an hour or run to the store.

Some of us work our asses and hearts and minds and fingers off trying to keep up with the ISSUES and we are not into “friendster” and “facebook” and all that nonsense. If I wanted a NEW FRIEND I’d go out a local event.

It’s almost 4 am for me to have caught up with a couple of threads. How is that helping anyone?

I am not saying you people who CARE what the summer temperatures are should not have a thread…I’m saying that those of us who are not retired or independently wealthy and have only so much time to focus on the TOPIC AT HAND, helping Hillary and democracy, should not have to wade through the inane banalities that inexplicably make some feel “bonded” and “connected.”

#196 Zee on 06.30.08 at 4:00 am

Firebelle…I have zero problem with Murphy!

I just want to get my input in before the new format is decided upon.

She’s not the one telling us that she’ll be back in a minute after helping son #2 with algebra and rinsing the arugula for supper.

#197 pumaindy on 06.30.08 at 4:02 am

#187, #195, ok – thanks for your post.

I think that I have now officially had about enough of this site. Those comments are angry and offensive. I need support, not more exposure to anger.

I am sorry that you feel that you have to inject this kind of ranting in a public forum that is supposed to be supportive.

Thanks everyone else. You have been my friends in a time of need.

Zee – you will get your wish by not having to read any more posts by me.

#198 pumaindy on 06.30.08 at 4:06 am

Sorry Zee – one more post for you to read.

You are a truly offensive person.

#199 Firebelle Puma on 06.30.08 at 4:10 am

Zee, I do understand your frustration. I spend far too much time on this blog when I should be doing my own work. (I’m self-employed.) And I often skip over the social stuff because I don’t have time for all of it.

But I agree with pumaindy about keeping the forum polite. (That goes for all posts, including posts from people who want to vent about Obama, the DNC, etc.) That doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes get carried away myself, but I try to keep it in check.

I look at it this way … I have judged Obama in part by blog posts written by his supporters. I see how vile and hateful they can be, and I consider it a reflection of what Obama inspires in his supporters.

So I’d like to think that our blog should reflect the greatness that Hillary inspires in us. And I want to make Hillary proud. In no way does that mean I can’t continue working to defeat Obama. It just means I should try to do so in a dignified manner.

Hey guys,

This is what I am sending to Gov. Rendell regarding HODUS (?). What do you think?

Dear Gov. Rendell,

You are a wonderful man, and a great leader. I greatly respect and I am very grateful for everything that you are doing.

Today I would like to thank you for your loyal support for Sen. Clinton, and hard work and dedication to help continue our fight for nomination.

I am one of the voters who is very upset with how the elections are run by DNC this year. I am an immigrant from the Russia, and I have lived under totalitarian Government for 13.5 years (I am 27 now, and I am forever grateful to President Clinton and Sen. Clinton for allowing me and my family to come here). I have very clear memories of how my grandfather received ballots for everybody who could vote in the family, and didn’t show up to vote. The Government system fixed the results in any way they wanted. THAT’S how voting was done there.

This country has given me an opportunity to flourish and enjoy life. My family and I are able to pursue endless opportunities, which we couldn’t EVEN DREAM of back in Russia.

My B.S. degree is in Public Relations with a Marketing minor. I graduated from high school when I was 16, and I got my B.S. degree when I was 19. I AM an active member of PUMA because I feel that my 1st Amendment right is suppressed. It is not right for the leaders to decide what I want to do. This country is about Democracy and freedom of choice. Why should I follow the rule of the few?

For me it’s not about being angry or upset because my candidate didn’t win. My vote for Sen. McCain in November if Sen. Clinton is not the nominee is not reflected by “principle” that “it has to be my way”.

I am voting on whether I feel confident with somebody who will decide what to do with my life every millionth of a second. On May 18th, 2008 Sen. Obama said that Iran is not a great threat to us because they don’t have as much money as Soviet Union did. That statement made me feel very unsafe with Sen. Obama being in charge of me and my family and that is the reason why I refuse to vote for him.

I applogize for saying this, but I am now working on the possibilty of Sen. Clinton getting the nomination at the Convention in Denver. I hope that you’ll understand my choice.

All the best,
anonymous

Please don’t leave, you are very valuable PUMA here, and your posts are always thouroughly thought. Your comment is always appreciated. If we can get through all the negative media coverage of Hillary, we can get through offensive and saddening comments too. We are PUMAs. We defend ourselves, we keep going forward, and we are stronger together. Staying together is the only way for us to get the nomination for Hillary. Please stay.

#203 anonymous on 06.30.08 at 4:38 am

#187 and 195 Zee

Please try to understand that we are all human beings and we want to find a way to communicate with each other. We talk on this blog to laugh, and share our thoughts and to plan how to act. We need to stick together in order to get the nomination for Hillary. One of the things to do to catch up is to go by shorter messages. I actually find it funny to hear somebody say that they are going to bed, or to maw the loan. Let’s keep on thinking how to defeat HBO.

#204 anonymous on 06.30.08 at 5:08 am

Sorry, I misspelled. I meant to say: mow the lawn.

#205 anonymous on 06.30.08 at 5:20 am

I also wanted to add:

pumaindy, I am with you. I don’t want to hear any hate speech either.

Zee, please stay focused on helping us to reach our COMMON GOAL–Hillary into the White House. We are exposed to more than enough hate speech during the day on other blogs. Please offer us more support. We don’t want to make anybody upset. It don’t read 500 posts from start to finish. I pick a couple and talk about them. It’s like real life. When you get together for instance with your friends, not everybody comes at the same time. You ask somebody to fill you in on details. If you only have 30 minutes for lunch, you don’t stay there for an hour to see what they talked about. That’s exactly how we do things here. You come at a different time, pick a topic to talk about and join the conversation. Please respect our comments.

Good morning PUMAS,
I have been trying to catch up on the posts. It seems we have some strong feelings in here today. I don’t want to lose any PUMAs. We need everyone! I admit, I can’t spend a lot of time on here. I work 50-60 hours per week. I have a family that needs me. I try to do what I can. I see Zee’s point of view and I see pumaindy’s point of view. There has to be a way we can agree to disagree and work together to something done. Maybe Murphy can add a mod or two to help start new posts and get the ball rolling so we don’t have to sift through 1000 posts. It is hard to read them all sometimes.
We have a chance to do some great things with this group. I don’t want to lose ANYONE.
I love this site.
I have to go to work. Have a good all. I will check back after work.

#218 lotts1948 on 06.30.08 at 8:22 am

I’m just learning about blogging too. There are some tools that you can learn to help you get to certain posts. I don’t know a lot about it now, but I am certain there are other tools that you can use that may help you get to certain topics, maybe. Yes, there are a lot of posts, 1 thread did have over 1000, I cannot remember exactly. The only tool I’ve used so far is the one where you use control and F and it will open up a find so you can search by whole word or case. It helps sometimes. There probably are other tools you can use too and perhaps some of the other Pumas here can help with a small tutorial of them. I think Cosmeta, for example, knows a lot about it.

I don’t really want to get into the middle of somebody who is “ranting” but can’t you just scroll through? I mean sometimes that is what I do. I work too. I am just fortunate enough to work at home. But still, during the time I am working, I usually cannot come on here very much and so I fall behind on the posts and have to read through them too. I usually make notes and add the links some people leave through their posts to either look at or read later, what have you. In all honesty, I cannot see how it could be actually OFFENSIVE to someone for a person to post that they’re leaving for a while … whatever it is to do… they feel connected here. Isn’t that part of what we’re trying to do too? Make people feel connected? Just my thoughts.

#220 Hillgirl on 06.30.08 at 8:35 am

Good morning, all,
I see that there is some interesting dialogue going with regard to the blog. I agree that we don’t want to lose valuable PUMA’s! I also agree that the conversation does seem to get sidetracked at times from the purpose of the blog, and personally, I find it less interesting and tend to not get involved at those times. I just usually check back to see if there is any action in which I can be involved. We do not know each other, but are brought together for a common cause. Maybe everyone handles that bringing together differently. I believe this is a good group of people, but I think everyone has a different investment. So I just wonder if we can proceed with that understanding. Like Zee, I am more focused on the action of the group, but I do not in any way begrudge those who would like to spend time chatting. I just do not engage at those times. So those are my two cents for what they are worth!

Good Morning Pumas. Today is a new day!

Seems there was some not-wonderfulness in comments overnight. I’ll be looking into it this morning. In the meantime, our job is to stay focused, organized, and active.

Our cause is sincere and our motives are pure. We don’t need to sweat small stuff. This blog is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Overnight and other times, we use this forum to vent, share, and connect with each other. That’s how we stay motivated to be FOCUSED, ORGANIZED, and ACTIVE. No one can be ON 24 hours a day.

We need each other. We are either all in this together or all outside alone. I say, let’s do it together. As individuals we are complex, flawed, insecure, tired, overworked, broke, discouraged, inspired, creative, and strong. Each of us is all of these things sometimes.

But, together, with a united front, the little problems, disagreements, and failings can be minimized and overlooked. Because we have bigger work to do than pointing fingers at each other. We have bigger work to do than worrying about the future or the past. Let’s focus on TODAY.

New post up. Daily Action and GROWL coming in a jiffy.

Take it upstairs!

ALERT PUMAS – HUFFINGTONPOST.COM

I have to empathize with the disheartened Obama supporters, it is sad. They no longer feel the HOPE. I think we should go to this site and recruit them into our flock. Some want to know if Hillary can still run. You will find their comments under articles such as :

“Obama undercuts his brand”
“Squealing on the left at Obamas backflips”

login at huffington and signup to enter comments. They will send an e-mail to your account with a link verifying your password so you can enter comments.

Some want to know if Hillary can still run. This is a sad turn of events for them. It is hard to see fellow Americans feel the pain of being misled as we have. Hillary supporters knew Obama could not be trusted because we were on the opposing side, now they are finding out.

I think we can offer to reach out to them and bring them into the fold where they can find comfort and journey with us to the convention.

sample huffington posting:
God forbid that any of us have an opinion and place expectations on those we support for higher office. I don’t want to live in a country where to go along and get along means my principles are expendable and can be thrown out the window. I, like many others are sick and tired of politics as usual and I am disgusted that the person I supported for the nomination has basically given me and other progressives who donated to him and worked on his behalf, the finger. Yes, we were given the finger over FISA and I am mad as hell about that. Could I sit quietly and be nice as so many on this board advocate – “Can’t we just get him elected first!” is what we are told over and over – and called names and berated because we believed, foolishly, in principles and a leader we thought possessed them. We all know how the game has been played; we know that “moving to the center “seems to be the strategy in a general election. I just never thought that moving to the center also meant tossing the Fourth Amendment. I don’t vote for the lesser of two evils; I don’t vote because I am afraid of what will happen if that other evil twin gets in; I vote on principles and a candidate’s stands on issues I deem critical and non-negotiable and those include: war and peace; Constitutional principles and social justice.

Just wanted to add a “ditto” to your comments. I haven’t posted any comments for a while because I too was subject of some backlash for a comment that was misread. Just don’t need that in my life, so I come on daily to read and see what actions need to be done and try to do them because I am passionate about this cause.
Its tough sometimes to stay focused when we obviously have so many personalities trying to deal with volatile subjects. However, these rantings and the need to force ones opinions as the only way, kind of reduce the blog to those of the OB idiots. You know they are reading this blog and it must give them great pleasure to see discontent among the members.

I am content to read and perform what is needed. For me that works. Others like the comraderie and that is great for them.

If we can’t promote unity within, how can we expect the forces we are fighting to do so!!

Happy blogging. Everyone have a good day!

thankyou
new here but I read just about every post. I found you because of hillaryis44.org and over the past year I have witnessed many people try to brake the back of that site. trolls will always exist but if you feed them they come back. If you disagree with someone ignore them and they will become bored and go away. Calling people out diminishes the goal of the blog. Many people relish stirring things up on a a pro -Hill site so as to have any new visitors percieve the site in a neg way. I say let em be. they are usually really boring anyhow.

This group is only 2 to 3 weeks old. We’re having “growing pains”. Sure, things could always be better but we ‘re still PUMA cubs. Please stay and continue to interact. We need each other. It’s a cold cruel world out there ( and probably going to get more so ). Murphy must be putting about 20 hours a day into this site and considering where we came from, which is a bunch of disgruntled individuals; we’re “come a long way, Baby.” ( or Sweetie if you prefer )

Thanks Henry and All.

I’m on the East Coast and I feel bad that when it’s really late here there are plenty of West Coasters who are wide awake and blogging. I try to be on the blog personally until 1 or 2am.

Anyway — when it’s late at night people vent and share and often feel bad the next day. I know I’ve been in that position PLENTY of time.

We’re grownups. and we’re the Good Guys. We can understand, take most of it with a grain of salt, and keep going.

You responded to my suggestions regarding paying down Hillary’s debt by describing it as a choice between putting food on the table or paying Hillary’s debt. Did I understand you correctly?]]

Yes, I said that, not for you or your circumstance but for mine. As to where I am coming from here in part are my demographics:

- female voter
- white american
- senior citizen
- blue collar

I am a registered republican for Hillary.
He is a registered democrate for Hillary.
We will both switch to McCain in the fall.

IOW, we are now living on a fixed income and managing to keep up with our own lives and the lives of our two married children and grandchildren.

I must have donated well over $500 to Hillary over the course of the campaign; a huge committment on my part considering that this year was the very first time in my entire adult life (to use MO’s term) that I have ever been so enthrilled and so involved in a politcal primary campagin; I usually only becoming involved at the General.

I may not be maxed out as far as what is allowed, but I am certainly maxed out as far as what I can afford to donate to Hillary, to PUMA or to McCain; and yes, even to our son who, in my opinion needs *my* help more than Hillary.

********

[[ Well..it’s OK to ignore my other posts.]]

I don’t think I am ignoring anyone; nor should I be responsible for responding to every single post, even if addressed to me… simply because I do not read every single post, and will often take breaks away from my pc and when I come back, do not always begin where I left off. So my point is, in this fast moving blog, I like the rest of you find it difficult to keep up with the volume here. But I am *not* ignoring you.

Good morning Pumas! Have been gone for a week, and a lot has happened, and I see much is the same. I wrote letters and snail mailed them to Pelosi, Dean, sen. Boxer, and Feinstein in Ca.
I just wanted to check in, and will send money to PUMA this week, and did send more money to Hillarys’ debt.
I would love it if we could pay off her debt, rather than Obama, writing a check and saying he would ask his people to help pay . What a laugh!!He just wants her money people. so he can raise 300 million to beat McCain, just like he did with her.

Someone above me, suggested that our comments are sometimes too long, and maybe less verbage, and more action, is what’s needed here. I agree, it’s hard to read all these comments, especially the rants!! Can we try to keep those negative comments to a minimum, and focus on what needs to be done for the Convention.?
Also, I’ve been off line for a week, and can someone tell me where we are with Hillarys’ name on the ballot? Is it going to be thee, or what?
Thanks

I agree with your comments about the differences between Zee an Indypuma and I think both are right.
However, we just need to be more patients, because as Murphy said every one is important in this group and we need to be together to accomplish our mission.
Is also true that we feel tense and frustrated, so take a deep breath and keep going.

I left this comment last night but everyone had gone, so I’ll re post it here. I just wanted to let you know, Google isn’t to be trusted. I heard on a news program that they keep a record of every search you make and sell the info(I think that’s what they said)but certain search words go to Govt sources. I don’t use Google search any more, When I wanted to make a comment on emilyslist, I had to get a Gmail Addy, then I had to give email contacts cause it said I had no blog membership, then they sent me to emilyslist and asked for a contribution. They wanted me to start a blog, which I didn’t want so I just backed out completely. Anyway, please beware of Google.
