Unity Blackout Cat Margarita Time

Today was a thrilling day. At least 140 Pumas joined  Mawm and GaryChapelHill in “Unity” New Hampshire to show the world that the Democratic Party is a House Divided. The media narrative is changing. The reporters are realizing that there is a there there with the Puma story. We’re not merely a hot-flash-in-the-pan hissy fit movement that will subside after being ridiculed for a news cycle or two.

The Puma movement and Puma PAC is now bigger than either Hillary Clinton OR Barack Obama. This is about our party; about what it means to be an American who cares about good public schools, safe streets, strong unions, access to college for every American kid, women’s rights, social security, fair housing, environmental stewardship, gay and lesbian rights, a fair shake for immigrants, universal health care, and a shared sense of responsibility for how America conducts herself here and around the world. This is about what it means to be a Democrat. Every Democrat who cares about all of these things, for whom government matters every single day, should be a member of Puma PAC.

  • If you take the bus to work, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you worry about day care costs, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you receive Social Security benefits, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are a college kid, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are GLBT, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you live in Florida or Michigan, Appalachia, or any other of our 50 states (plus PR and DC), you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are a grandparent, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are single, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you recycle, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are retired, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you give to charity, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you own your own business, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are a veteran, you should be a member of Puma PAC.
  • If you are in the military or care about someone who is, you should be a member of Puma PAC.

IF YOU REMEMBER THE VALUES THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY USED TO REPRESENT, AND IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM STILL, YOU SHOULD BE A MEMBER OF PUMA PAC.

Our job is to become a PAC of millions of Americans who will remind our Democratic politicians, during every election and throughout the year, that THEY MUST REDEDICATE THEMSELVES TO THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES AND VALUES OF OUR PARTY. Those being: free and fair elections, personal freedom, equal protection and equal rights, inclusionary policies, a strong middle class, care for the elderly, help for the working class and poor, safe streets, good schools, strong and compassionate foreign policy, and universal health care.

Tell five friends and family members about Puma PAC.

Today was a great day for the PUMA pac. I am so proud of how we carried our message and state our case.

Did my stint in that dungeon and next time someone else’s turn. They welcoming Hillary people with open arms. One thing I did notice…they are organizing to reach college kids and make sure they know where to vote. Whether it is their college town or need to do mail in. We need to keep that in mind in case THE MIRACLE happens! Last I talk of my trip or I need to shower again :)

Quoting from the intro:

[[Our job is to become a PAC of millions of Americans who will remind our Democratic politicians, during every election and throughout the year, that THEY MUST REDEDICATE THEMSELVES TO THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES AND VALUES OF OUR PARTY. Those being: free and fair elections, personal freedom, equal protection and equal rights, inclusionary policies, a strong middle class, care for the elderly, help for the working class and poor, safe streets, good schools, strong and compassionate foreign policy, and universal health care. ]]

With all due respect… except for these: free and fair elections, personal freedom, equal protection and equal rights, inclusionary policies; all the other polices which I see as Hillary’s have become BHO’s. So, it becomes self defeating for PUMA to espouse that, but only because BHO will now begin to move incorporate Hillary’s values and move more to the center in an attempt to capture the white middle class vote in anticipation of the General Election.

We have to remember, that although 36 million people came out to vote in the primaries and in the caucuses, there are approximately 136 million voters for the General, and *not* all of them have been following the Democratic primary season.

Conclusion: And please forgive me for saying this because I mean no ill intent… but your introduction seems self defeating becuase you have just described Mr O and his platform.

Sincerely,
Kathleen

as i was saying before we came upstairs we do not need to help yet with Hillary’s debt. She will be allright. we need to donate to our cause first to get out more ads and Murphy on some good shows. Like the Ellen show who is # 1 on TV and beating Oprah , and The View and Larry King and Letterman show. If we can get Murphy on big shows like this we can bring Obama to his knees and scare the dickens out of the DNC

#9 Taffy on 06.27.08 at 7:44 pm

I agree sandi. Guess we need to start an email campaign to various shows. Put in links to murphy’s 2 so far so they take us seriously.

Lou Doobbs on now: Unity: Zimmerman says it went well today. This went a long way to get the unity done.

Goodwin: She gave a better speech than he did and makes another push for her VP. Hell no Hillary!!!

Kitty: what about the voters. We are hearing from alot of sources that their countinues to be alot of anemosity amoung voters toward Obama. OH YEA?

Can they be united?

Zimmerman: Well, that is the task right now. FORGEABOUIT!

One big problem Cosmeta, BO is a fake. an empty suit. he panders, copies, and lies.

He disgraces the values of our party with his empty, cynical rhetoric.

that’s why Puma PAC doesnt support him!

Lots of PUMA news on the MSM lately, good work! As for the previous comment #7, yes Oblahma has stolen her ideas (what else is new), but we can’t let him steal them twice. I say keep the mission statement as is, perhaps changing the order with free and fair elections listed first and then maybe giving Hillary credit with the rest by preceding it with, and as Hillary championed for so many years and during her outstanding campaign for president….

#22 sandipuma on 06.27.08 at 7:50 pm

Ellen has more viewers than Oprah and The View you could handle them, also Larry King and Letterman

Hello Pumas, We have not a second to waste. We need to find a way to reach out to those around us with our message. Here’s my e-mail I just wrote to a childhood friend who I just found out is contemplating voting for *61 in light of the recent events!

Dear Mirna,

I am writing this e-mail to you because I’m REALLY concerned for our country. You know me to be a very outspoken individual but when have you ever heard me talk about politics before this election? Or, when have you seen me as concerned as you see me now about the future of our country? I have never, ever in my life put too much of my energy in any of this kind of stuff before because as you know I have an extremely busy life and I know you do too! So, what’s different this time? Why am I taking a moment from your busy day to ask you to please read this e-mail? Why do I take a chance of alianating you by talking about this stuff when you are such a dear friend to me? Well, we never had a extreme leftist, unexperienced, with no proven track record of any kind, a loyal disciple and follower of the Black liberation theology for 20 years who wrote a book inspired by a sermon given by his w hi te America hating pastor who he calls his spiritual mentor, and friend of America’s haters and documented domestic terrorists, a friend of convicted felons who raised money for his campaign, someone who has earned the admiration and endorsement of all the dictators and abusers or power of the world (all these things combined) run for the presidency of our country before! That’s what’s different this time! I’m not a bigot, a racist or a closed minded and resistant to change kind of individual, for I am myself different, and a member of a minority group in this country. No one else could be more against people who discriminate others base on race, gender or religious background than myself. No one could be more for change than myself. But I am for the right and positive kind of change that will provide my children with the same opportunities that I have enjoyed! I don’t believe that socialis m and Marxism represent the kind of change any of us would want for our country. I don’t believe that someone who sat in the pew of a “church” that promotes hate towards others and embraces both the message as much as the messenger of such evil for 20 years can deliver the kind of change that our country needs. It is a fact that thousands of dollars in personal donations and earmarks were given to these hate mongering “churches” by this so called “agent of change and transparency” that now aspires to the highest office in the land. If this doesn’t serve as proof of how close to his heart this “cause” is, I don’t know what does. Would you donate money to a cause you did not support or believed in wholeheartedly? Would you stay in a church that promotes hate towards others for 20 years if you didn’t agree with the message? Is this good judgment? Would you be able to preside e ffectively and fairly over a nation as diverse as the United Sta tes of America if you considered a huge sector of its population to be the “oppressors” of “your people”? I don’t claim to agree with 100 % of what my pastor says every Sunday, but believe me, if he started using racially divisive incendiary language and started “preaching” hate instead of love and division instead of unity, or if he started twisting the Bible to suit his own agenda, I’d be leaving that church in a heart beat without ever looking back! I don’t think that staying in that church would represent the minimum amount of parental responsibility that my children deserve! Should we expect any less from those individuals running for President?
In terms of qualifications and experience, what has he ever accomplished that qualifies him to lead this nation? He has no specific accomplishments of any kind, and the reason I know is because I have researched high and low, in addition to the research that I have done, I have been open to give him the benefit of the doubt by picking up the phone and by calling both his own campaign headquarters and the DNC’s headquarters and neither could offer me any substance worth of any serious consideration! So, all I’m left with to make my decision of whether or not I can even consider voting for this man are his character and judgment, which seem a little grim if you ask me! Will charisma and flowery rethoric do the trick? Well, perhaps it would if we were choosing the next American Idol or trying the fill a vacancy for a motivational speaker, but he is applying for the position of Commander in Chief! Think o f the last time YOU got a job based on charisma alone. Perhaps it is this very lack of experience and qualifications what made him cheat, twist and manipulate the rules when he first ” won” his State Senate seat in Chicago by making sure to use technicalities to remove from the ballot the names of those who were indeed qualified so he could run uncontested! Is this the new American hero?

Let’s talk about change for a moment. Is change a speech you make or something you accomplish by working hard? When was the last time you were able to change anything just by talking about it? Should we believe so implicitly in the words of someone who claiming to be the ultimate agent of change has nothing to show for in terms of accomplishments? What has he ever changed?!

Let’s now talk about unity. Is it possible to achieve it by promoting division? Does he overcome racism by posing as the victim and by playing the race card on those who dare ask for a specific and concrete plan of how he is to deliver the promises he has made? I guess the answer is no, but playing the race card has proven to be a very effective method to deviate people’s attention from the real issues: The economy, the mortgage meltdown, the out of control gas prices, our dependency of foreign oil, the war on terror, unafordable health care, education, and his inability to deal with any of these issues or fix any of these problems due to his lack of qualifications. Isn’t it interesting how this “great uniter” would not hesitate to sit down with our enemies abroad such as Hugo Chavez, Raul Castro, and Mahmoud Ahmedinajad to name a few without pre-conditions but WILL NOT agree to hold a town hall m eeting with his opponent here at home unless a huge number of conditions are met prior to his meeting with him? How are we to believe that he is capable to reach across party lines to get anything done if he is elected president? One thing is clear in my mind about this character, he is so hungry for power and respects nothing that stands in his way to accomplish this goal of his. His “spiritual mentor” and the churches and groups he used in his rise to power have been officially thrown under the bus. His own grandmother was thrown under the bus, although it is my understanding that she has been brought back from under the bus because it suits the uniter’s agenda at this particular moment as he launches a “make-over” campaign in order to get rid of his tarnished image. Will those who cast a vote for him in this election be the next group to end up under the bus?

I want you to know it’s been very difficult for me to gather the courage to say what I have said to you in this e-mail. Please know that I’m not doing this in an effort to invade your space or to lecture you about how to vote. That is the last thing on my mind! My only motivation in writing these lines is to share my genuine concerns for our nation with you, who I consider not only and intelligent individual but a loving and caring citizen of this country. Please ask yourself who you pledge allegiance to? Is party affiliation to be regarded more important than loyalty to your country? All I ask is that you look at the facts and that you do take the time to closely examine ALL candidates and their records. We hear former opponents and party icons and leaders of the so called agent of change coming out to endorse him now and to ask us to consider giving him o ur votes and to unite behind this character, but, have you noticed that all of these former candidates, party icons and leaders are rich enough to pick up their entire families in less than 24 hours and relocate somewhere else in the event that this country goes down the tube! Can you and I do that? Perhaps the answer to this last question should be an indication that the future of our nation is in the hands of those of us who are here to stay!

I have plenty of research material to back up every single statement I have made in this e-mail. Let me know if you would like me to forward any of it to you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my e-mail.

Love,

Roxy

P.S.: The paragraphs below are a an excerpt from Wikipedia. They briefly talk about Black Liberation Theology.

Theologians such as theology scholar Dr. Robert A. Morley take a dim view of black theology. Morley’s paper “The Goals Of Black Liberal Theology” is one widely quoted paper citing specific criticisms of black theology.

He states that black theology turns religion into sociology, and Jesus into a black Marxist rebel. While making statements against whites and Asians, it promotes a poor self-image among blacks, and describes the black man as a helpless victim of forces and people beyond his control. Black theology calls for political liberation instead of spiritual salvation.

Fundamentally, it is not Bible-based, Christ-honoring theology from this critical viewpoint. Anthony Bradley of the Christian Post interprets that the language of “economic parity” and references to “mal-distribution” as nothing more than channeling the views of Karl Marx.

He believes James Cone and Cornel West have worked to incorporate Marxist thought into the black church, forming an ethical framework predicated on a system of oppressor class versus a victim much like Marxism.

Stanley Kurtz of the National Review criticizes black liberation theology, saying, “A scarcely concealed, Marxist-inspired indictment of American capitalism pervades contemporary ‘black-liberation theology’…The black intellectual’s goal, says Cone, is to “aid in the destruction of America as he knows it.” Such destruction requires both black anger and white guilt. The black-power theologian’s goal is to tell the story of American oppression so powerfully and precisely that white men will “tremble, curse, and go mad, because they will be drenched with the filth of their evil.” In the preface to his 1970 book, A Black Theology of Liberation, Wright wrote: “There will be no peace in America until whites begin to hate their whiteness, asking from the depths of their being: ‘How can we become black?’”

Believe me, Hillary is in no way happy to be in public with BO. She is biding her time, waiting for just the right moment, then the s**t will hit the fan.

Hillary is the most intelligent person in politics today. She is unmatched when it comes to public speaking, and is educated on so many different subjects, that her speaking ability is top-notch. She doesnt need a teleprompter, she knows what she wants to say and has the knowledge to back it up.

I am proud of her, yesterday, today and always. Hillary is a true leader and a woman of grace and dignity.

One Love

Murphy, excuse the reposting of this from the bottom of the previous thread. I was unaware that a new one was up top while writing it. I really wanted my friend BigCatLover to read this beaut (at least I think is).

#518 BigCatLover:

It’s that darn man me again (and fellow big cat lover, remember?).

I meant no harm toward Taffy. It’s just the dumb in me, I guess that has a poor way with words. Actually, I thought I was being pretty objective when “slamming” her with that “she wouldn’t make a good puma” line after reading the posts as always Obama this and Obama that and 150% a supporter. But I didn’t mind the presence of this individual either. I just read’m as I see’m. I also love being honest and as objective as possible when spouting off. You’ll never see me spew like an Obama phony, that I can assure you.

I’m really very accepting of others and their opinions. I learned a lot of peace, love and understanding at Woodstock in 1969 to know the value of tolerance.

Remember, I’m a guy from Mars. I don’t visit Venus often enough to know how to interpret exactly the things a Taffy individual might post. I’m assuming Taffy is a girl, by the way… and probably a very nice one at that.

Anyhoot, I stand by what I stated unless an apology is desired. It really wasn’t a big deal. But if a fellow cat lover thought poorly of me for even an instance I will suck in the pride and apologize. My lack of ego and Woodstock upbringing doesn’t mind me getting along with others at all.

:-)

Wow ~ after reading the Unity Blackout Cat, maybe I will take that sweet Puma’s advice (can’t remember who) and re-register as a democrat and work to bring change, real change, that all of us can truly believe in, that is, a change to the party that used to welcome all, the party that represent the folks in the MIDDLE, which is where most Americans hang out, solidly in the middle, swingin a little left a little right with every election cycle, but with some equilibrium. To all you trolls out there, I will never, ever vote for, give money to, Barack Hussein Obama, or support the DNC until they are all turned out on the streets so that real Americans with Real Party Principals can steer the party back to its traditional base. 1/2 a Vote MY @ZZ

Re post from down stairs.
Hey all, I just caught the end of something on FOX, that the Gallup poll has McCain tied with nobana at 44% and the McCain is taking offense that he is saying that if he McCain is elected that women will no longer have control over their reproductive organs. McCain again called on nobana again to debate him and say it too his face. This is something else we maybe can use. Nobama is trying to scare American women into voting for him. He can try to scare us but is afraid to defend his stance in a debate What do you all think?

Got the email from Hillary today.

Here is my response.

Dear Hillary,

For over tens years now, I have stood with you; as our First Lady, then Senator from New York, and in your campaign for the Presidency. I will continue to stand with you as you fulfill your promises to the American people and the Democratic Party you’ve spent your adult life serving.

I am deeply disappointed by the current state of affairs. We are on the wrong road Hillary. As much as I understand unity is essential to winning this election, the ideals of democracy that so many before us have given their freedom and very lives to uphold; is larger than this election.

I can not in good conscience support this unveiled candidate simply because his position papers and his speeches would have us believe he is of like mind. Barack Obama’s history, his dismissive conduct toward fellow Americans, and his unscrupulous campaign tactics might have prevailed in the short term, but I see them as red flags. His shady associations, his hired cyber-bullies, and the hated expressed by many of his supporters reflect his distain for the values and needs of most Americans.

Barack Obama described his candidacy accurately when he said, “We don’t need the people. We need the checks.”

Hillary, we are rolling the dice based upon rousing speeches and artful fundraising. History has shown this precedent to be treacherous waters to navigate in the long-term.

I will continue to work toward retiring your debt.

Respectfully,

That is exactly why we support YOU!

And, with all due respect, Senator…

…the ONE thing you do not do very well at all is play-act in a supporting role, to an empty suit, reading from a DNC script, in a play called “THE FARCE”, on a stage in “unity”!

#51 mijabsnji on 06.27.08 at 8:06 pm

The entire following piece is copied directly from Riverdaughter’ website.

Whoo-Hoo! What a Friday! Let’s not wait until the evening to have a PUMA Cocktail Party. Let’s start now. Diane, our Mistress of Mischief, at JustSayNoDeal.com has sent the following schedule of events:

ABC - POLITICS LIVE - INTERVIEW 215PM

MSNBC - INTERVIEW 4:30pm

FOX BUSINESS NETWORK 7PM

CBS EVENING NEWS - 6PM

GOOD MORNING AMERICA - TOMORROW A.M.

FOX NEWS SATURDAY - BETWEEN 2 & 4PM

AL JAZEERA ENGLISH - 4PM TODAY

Diane sas she is fielding calls from the media in Japan and Germany as well. Hot damn! The Viral has gone Global!

Conflucians, this primary season has been strange and tumultuous. The outcome is still, as yet, uncertain and we are very serious about our cause. We can not support or vote for Barack Obama because he is an unready candidate and the way in which he was selected by the DNC cancelled out the millions of voters in the bigger Democratic and Swing States where Clinton won decisively. We suspect that the fix was in since last year when the RBC penalized Florida and Michigan with a 100% loss of their delegates and in spite of what James Roosevelt, co-chairman of the RBC, says, we do not believe the outcome on May 31 was fair or within the rules. What we want is a fair and transparent convention where Hillary Clinton can make her case to the superdelegates and if we don’t get it, we will take our votes and walk.

So, there’s the serious part. And we are sticking with it.

Now, as to the means? Well, PUMAs, let’s leave that up to our oh so fertile imaginations.

Hillary’s debt is not an issue if it is gone.

Hillary is asking us for help to pay her debt.

There is enough $$ to go around.

I agree with you that we need to push this agenda.

I think we need to do both.

Hillary’s debt is not an issue if it does not exist.

$$ from BO have strings.

1,000,000 at $20.08 does it.
500,000 at $20.08 is sufficient.

I am going to continue to contribute to Hillary’s campaign. Only when that debt is gone will I contribute to PUMA PAC.

Anyone have a debt meter?

Diva 2 and K in Northwest, please feel free to email me at RoseCityfriend@aol.com. I live in the suburbs of Portland. If you’re close, maybe sometime this weekend or next, we could get together for blackout cat margaritas in person?? Mayor 0102 is in in southwest Wash and I think bluesgal must be around the NW too. There are others in the Seattle area that I occasionally email with too.

K in NW, I understand why you don’t feel like donating to Hillary’s debt right now. I’m not such a big contributer that I’m near the $2300 max for individuals, but I HAVE donated more to her campaign than I ever have to any others, and it’s a lot for me, given that it’s not tax-deductible and the economy not so great right now. I personally am going to give $5.44 to McCain today, as a protest, and focus the small amounts I can afford to PUMA and to The Denver Group. For me, this issue is about reclaiming the Democratic party for the people, which goes beyond Hillary herself, although I still hope she’s our nominee (and I’m trying to keep in mind Firebelle Puma’s reasoning that HRC has to placate Obama supporters if they are to accept her as the nominee in the event he self-destructs before the convention — I suspect the Republicans must have some kind of news bomb they’re waiting to throw till later).

susy my concern isn’t just that. about 2 weeks after inauguration all tv is digital. one click and it is shut off. talk about govt control! the same can happen with cell phones and most people are giving up their land lines for them. It’s scary who can have the power to do this.

I agree with whoever said we have very little time to retire the debt. True.

Idea: I’m thinking PUMA’s might sponsor some kind of online fundraiser. Brainstorm anyone? OR is this outside of the box?

PUMA Media Alert

It seems *61 alienated top newspaper editors by opting out of public financing in the GE. Here is a short excerpt from the Politico article.

But Obama’s announcement Thursday that he would become the first candidate to opt out of the public financing program for the general election was a big deal for some of the nation’s most influential newspaper editorial boards, which have long been ardent champions of campaign finance reform and which had thought they’d found a kindred spirit on the issue.

The scolding could mark a turning point in what has been, on balance, fawning treatment of Obama, an Illinois Senator and the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, on editorial pages.

This is our chance to write the editors of the following papers that have raised concerns about *61.

Here are the names of the papers and a few names of the editors that are against *61’s position:

Fred Hiatt/Editorial Page Editor/The Washington Post
The Philadelphia Inquirer/Editorial Board
Boston Globe
Baltimore Sun/Editorial Board
The New York Times
USA Today

As Pumas, are we surprised by *61’s action? We know that he is unqualified and unfit to be the POTUS. This is our chance to change the media coverage. The cracks are starting to shatter *61’s bubble.

Go Team PUMA and let’s write those letters.

Thanks to any of you who were out there at the rally today. Im stuck in Texas but I saw on at least 1 show they interviewed a couple of the Hillary supporters there who said they would vote McCain or write in Hillary in November. And I know I saw 1 male PUMA speaker on FOX I believe, letting them know this is a party divided, not united. Obama cronies will keep trying to convince the media and America that we really don’t exist and that those “few” who are still angry will come around to voting Obama in November. I love Hillary but I will never ever ever vote for Obama. I pray he does not make her the VP because though I would not vote for the ticket, some Hillary supporters might be swayed to accept 2nd best..and that is unacceptable.

#69 sandipuma on 06.27.08 at 8:14 pm

There are lots of people who can not donate to retire the debt for lots of reason. Some people are maxed out and some people just do not have the resources at the moment.

I’m thinking we could harness our passion and creativity and put it toward the debt as one of our projects. Some people don’t have money, but they have time and ideas.

I just received an email from Hillary campaign.

Dear Carole,

On February 8, in Unity, New Hampshire, 107 people voted for me, and 107 people voted for Senator Barack Obama.

Today, Barack and I were in Unity to celebrate a unified Democratic Party focused on electing him the next president. I was proud to stand with him today, and I will do whatever I can to help his campaign between now and November.

Senator McCain and the Republicans may have hoped that we wouldn’t join forces like this. They may have wished that we wouldn’t stand united to fight this battle with everything we’ve got.

But I’ve got news for them: We are one party; we are one America; and we are not going to rest until we take back our country and put it once again on the path to peace, prosperity, and progress in the 21st century.

Click here to watch the video of today’s unity rally in Unity, NH.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=feKBaxLjExE

Sincerely,
Hillary

P.S. So many of you have reached out to help us retire our campaign debt — I’m so grateful for your support. If you haven’t, I hope you’ll consider making a contribution today to help me as I continue standing up for the values we share.

Blackcat, I’m being a realist..I want Hillary to be our candidate, I worked my butt off for her, and I also maxed out my contributions to her, and i’m not rich. But the only way Nobama will not be our nominee is if he falls into an irreversible coma or worse..and that’s unlikely. The DNC has made their bed and they intend to roll around with their dog in it. So that’s why I have no problem donating to McCain(he can only use it in the primary season not the GE), and why I am donating to 527’s like this that will fight to be heard, fight to let America know who the real Obama is, and stand up to the DNC, liberal media and obamabots who have shown such sexism and disregard for the democratic process. I am a proud PUMA and I spread the word on myspace, and every other blog forum I can, as well as emailing info to friends and family. I know at least 10 relatives who are computer illiterate, who voted for Hillary, but will never vote for Obama. They are willing to support McCain in Nov and get ready for Hillary in 2012.

I don’t know that Don Imus would be such a great idea, with all the controversy surrounding him about him being a racist. I don’t listen to him, so I could not tell you one way or another but *61 and Al Sharpton would use our going to Imus as the perfect opportunity to play the race card on us! Not that they haven’t played it already without a provocation!

#129 mpdamon on 06.27.08 at 8:46 pm

While I know that many of you are concerned about what HRC “wants” us to do, this movement ( from my perspective at least ) is not about her; it’s about us!
It’s US making a statement that we will not be intimidated, coerced or bribed into supporting a candidate selected FOR US by the DNC. It’s also about informing the DNC that by not speaking up about the sexist media coverage, they have lost our permission to speak for or about us.
My motto: DEFINE YOURSELF OR BE DEFINED.

Tusconpuma, we need to shame Obama on this. My idea (I was thinking of this today) was to write to the McCain campaign and get him to do a town hall without Obama if Obambi’s too chicken-sh!t to face him.

Remember when Hillary did a town hall on the Hallmark Channel? It’s so sad to compare that nonstop off the cuff in-depth discussion Hillary held with the maddening TRIPE Obama repeats on the stump!!!

Now that all the attention is on O, you’ll start to see some of the stuff sticking. He has no one now to victimize or turn to. His team is going to have their hands full. It’s not just the Republican Party that they have to deal with now. It’s us and our sister and brother organizations. Also, the world keeps turning. Watch the financial world, watch the Wars in I and A, watch the terrorism around the world, watch the value of the dollar, watch the world leaders and what they say. He’s in the spotlight now and its not going to be so comfortable. It’ll stick little by little.

I have worried about my posts at times — sometimes I vent, sometimes something triggers a thought or an idea and sometimes I just want to participate. I know some people have read my posts because I see some of the things I have said are posted at later times and I know that there is no memory who made the original post but I am just so glad to be here.

I don’t acknowledge all the people individually, mostly because I don’t recall the post # and the name . But when I say you all are great, I mean it and I am talking about ALL of YOU!

You are so right! This is bigger than Hillary. It’s about the future of our children!

#137 Taffy on 06.27.08 at 8:52 pm

My friend and I were talking that we should try to work towards ONE primary day for both dems and repub in which Indies can also vote. The winner becomes the nominee and then the GE decides the president. Eliminates crossover voting. If you want a candidate from your party sure not going to change your registration and vote for an opposition one and take chance yours loses out! Could have primary day in may or june and GE in nov.

#138 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 8:53 pm

The reason I said Imus is he endorsed McCain and might like to have a Clinton supporter on who is saying they will vote for McCain. He maybe a gamble. I don’t have sirrus but maybe Howard Stern. I don’t know how if feels about all of this.

Howard fineman to kieth O the bulk of Obama’s money comes from big donors and they have dried up hmm that why he can’t retire her debt and needs her donors. I guess we will be getting an email from Obama begging they really do think we will give to him not a thin dime from me.

#141 mini vee on 06.27.08 at 8:57 pm

I got an email from Hillary entitled UNITY…oh, lordie, I love that woman but it pains me too much to get this email asking me to support Barry…I had to hit unsubscribe. That’s the one thing I can never do for Hillary.

Thanks to all of you who represented us today at the event!

At this point, it may not matter who’s show your on as long as you get the word out. Then that show’s clip can then be spread thru the internet and some other media outlet may have to play it also.

I will have some news i’m sure to tell you all tomorrow from our Las Vegas meeting.

#144 Taffy on 06.27.08 at 8:58 pm

there was an article a while back. Hillary has put a lot of money in her GE fund. bo spent most on primary and doesn’t have a big GE chest. now he needs Hillary backers for the GE fund. So Hillary actually comes out ahead if she can pay off the debt. Meanwhile bo has to find new funding sources. that’s part of why he did the thing with college kids. Basically a free college course for them from experts and he gets free management people in return.

#145 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 8:58 pm

“I want to go to Denver but i wonder if there will be any motels/hotles not booked up already that PUMA people can stay in? Anyone have info on where we can stay? ”

Try craigslist….people often trade time in their own homes in exchange for yours..and I am sure a lot of locals want to LEAVE town during the convention!

#150 cosmeta on 06.27.08 at 8:59 pm

I just rewatched the rally as I taped it on C-Span.. and I an convinced that BHO is trying to use his term, “bamboozle” the Hillary folks into believing that Hillary will be his running mate just to get their votes as he moves more toward the center to capture her middle class votes… and then he will throw her under the bus and choose someone else for his running mate.

It wasn’t THIS IS OUR TIME, when he was talking to his base, but rather, a simple flat, it’s time for change. He’s courting her voters and it’s all a put on. IMO

#155 Susie1945 on 06.27.08 at 9:02 pm

I just got my email from Hillary and sent back this reply:

“I watched the Unity Rally on Cspan today and my stomach was roiling the whole time. I want you as my president and I would do anything for you except - I will not vote for Obama. He is an immature, inadequate, unqualified empty suit and I cannot support him. I can put up with 4 years of John McCain but I don’t think our country could survive 1 day of Obama. I am sorry - I will continue to contribute to paying down your debt and try to keep my hopes alive. There will not be another woman running for president before I die.’

I cried as I wrote it but it is what it is…………………

Um, is Murphy up for that? She is so focused and level and serious…not to say she’s not sly and fun and mischievous here or at home, but live action comedy? On TV?? Not for the faint of heart or even the seasoned…I don’t know Murphy, but that is a project or campaign I would never undertake without first ascertaining that SNL is something Murphy would even want to attempt!!!

[[ as i was saying before we came upstairs we do not need to help yet with Hillary’s debt.]]

I agree, but only because she is getting paid to do rallies for him and to do fundraisers… and through those fundraisers, she is also collecting donations. For example, after last nights meeting at that hotel, she pulled in 1/2 million. So I think in a very short time, she will be able to pay down her 11 million dollar debt; especially if BHO starts hiring Bill Clinton to do speeches. Think I heard, elsewhere (or prior to the primaries) Bill got 100,000 per speech. So yes, they will be okay.

I agree with you 100%, but my point is, those who have not been paying attention to the Primaries will not know what we know… and by the time they find out, they wont care because it will be in the past tense. Like, that was how he was to Hillary, but we believe him now, so prove it to me. And unfortunately, the only proof any of us will have is after he is sworn in…. IOW, the same way we found out about Bush… slowly over time.

A commenter named Marie posted this at the WaPo article about us Pumas today (holy smokes!) It’s long, but worth the read!
“There will be no unity.

Who are all these people who will bring Barack Obama and you down?

They are The Women who fought for rights and recognize sexism and misogyny when they see it; women who will fight you with every fiber of their beings.

They are the Italians who would like you to know that their Garlic Noses are going to shove it up your asses in November.

They are the gays and lesbians who understand why Barry Obama refused to have his photo taken with San Francisco’s Mayor. The people who remember that a blank white page occurred in a magazine in the area that was supposed to contain Obama’s interview.

They are the Irish who watched that raving, crazed maniacal America-despising, white-hating “reverend” insult them on national television .

They are the Catholics who love Hillary Clinton and have a huge allergy to people who go to churches that consider Catholics the devil.

They are the Latinos who have received the same kind of unfair treatment from African Americans that African Americans have long resented themselves.

They are in Michigan. They are in Florida. No sense of hiding it. They know.

They are the Seniors, who recognize an empty suit peddling bullcrap when they see it.

They are the “Hicks” with guns and blue collar and service workers in those badly needed Swing States. They provide your smug arrogant asses with silly things like food and services you would be screaming about if they weren’t there. Now, Barry might pick himself a Vice Presidential candidate from one of these states, God knows he has plenty of swing states to choose from where he needs help badly. As a matter of fact, he needs to pick about four VPs to run with him. I’m sure if it can be done, they will allow Barry special dispensation to do it, right?

They are all the marvelous feminist men, the real progressives among you imposters, who are horrified at your behavior toward women.

They are the disabled who couldn’t caucus. They are the nurses and police officers and firefighters on shift who couldn’t caucus.

They are the Baby Boomers who aren’t still on the bong, who recognize exactly what Recreate68 means. They won’t let you force us back to that vile time. They remember Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn too. Get it?

They are the Jews who recently had to hear Hamas say on the Day of Mourning for those killed in the Holocaust –that the Holoucaust was created by Jews to get rid of their own weak people. That was right after they had to hear Hamas endorse Barack Obama with a wink-wink.

And most of all, they are people who recognize ability, experience and knowledge as easily as they recognize an empty-suited media creation with a resume the size of a postage stamp.

That’s who they are folks. Good luck with that.

There is no way for Obama to win this fall. *HE* has successfully thrown most of the base under the bus and many of us want nothing to do with him. Let me repeat that: HE and his campaign surrogates have disowned us. Not the media. Obama. He is the very epitome of a failed politician when he alienates the voters he needs the most.

writer to Lou Dobbs put it in clear terms.

The writer wrote something like this:

“The DNC has been a guest in my house for 30 years. But suddenly they have slapped me in the face, told me they do not want my support, and walked out the door.”

Our current leaders have mocked our fellow voters especially in FL and MI, and walked away from us.

I think they have fatally underestimated our resolve.”
