Clown Show of Unity

UPDATE JUNE 27 AT 10:32am: TODAY IS UNITY “BLACKOUT” DAY. WEAR BLACK TODAY TO EXPRESS YOUR BELIEF THAT UNITY IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DIED ON MAY 31st WITH THE DNC MEETING IN WASHINGTON DC. THERE IS NO UNITY IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TODAY, NO MATTER WHAT THE BIG SHOTS DESPERATELY TRY TO INSIST. PUMA PAC MOURNS THE LOSS OF UNITY IN OUR PARTY, AND WE ARE DEDICATED TO RESTORING IT.

Go to Unity, New Hampshire this morning. Pumas are meeting at the Rest Area on Interstate 91 in Vermont between exits 6 and 7 on the east side, rougly between the towns of Rockingham and Springfield.

Pumas will arrive at 8:00AM EST, and stay until 9:00AM EST. You DO NOT need a shuttle bus ticket or an event ticket to attend. Pumas will be arranging rides to the event from the meeting area at the Rest Area. A million thanks to the tireless MAWM of the Confluence for organizing, motivating, and making it happen.

Please try to make it to the rendez-vous before 9:00AM. The Sheriff is shutting down the road to the elementary school at 10:00am, so anyone wanting to be dropped off at the event instead of taking the shuttle will have to leave the rendez-vous point by 9:00am.

  • Bring your signs. They will not be allowed into the event, but can be carried outside.
  • Wear black.
  • We will have some food there, but you are welcome to bring more.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, BRING YOURSELVES! ALL PUMAS WELCOME. PLEASE JOIN US!
p.s. We’re in the Washington Post this morning in an extremely objective and fair piece by Kevin Merida. Link here.
ALSO: There will be a live Q&A at 11:00am with the Post’s political editors, discussing today’s political events. Post your Puma questions and comments now — be sure to mention Puma PAC (they probably don’t allow links, so just use the name). Link here.

Good morning, Pumas! I have been reading everything but do not have much to add! Just wanted to wish everyone good luck in Unity today! Wish I was closer so I could attend but I will be there in spirit!

Good Morning Pumas!

Check out this article with the title “The Ever-Malleable Mr. Obama” by the Op-Ed columnist Charles Krauthammer in today’s Washingtonpost. The critical piece ends with the words:

“[...] Why, the man even tossed his own grandmother overboard back in Philadelphia — only to haul her back on deck now that her services are needed. Yesterday, granny was the moral equivalent of the raving Reverend Wright. Today, she is a featured prop in Obama’s fuzzy-wuzzy get-to-know-me national TV ad.

Not a flinch. Not a flicker. Not a hint of shame. By the time he’s finished, Obama will have made the Clintons look scrupulous.”

OK, just posted at WAPO, Murphy.

Mr. Kane,
I am a member of PUMApac which is a Political Action Committee protesting the DNC and the 2008 primary election process. Please inform your readers that this PAC and its affiliate organizations are not composed of “bitter, disappointed and angry women who will fall in line”, but rather of citizens of the USA concerned with the way in which the primary elections were conducted by the DNC. In our opinion, there were numerous incidents that demonstrated the DNC’s support for Senator Obama and their attempts to assure that Senator Clinton, a far better and more qualified candidate, did not get the nomination. The evidence is as follows: the party elders and embedded Democratic politicians all supported Senator Obama, the caucuses, which comprised the majority of Obama’s victories and which represented the least amount of the popular vote, were a travesty, the FL/MI outcome demonstrated a blatant disregard for the voices of the people, the popular vote was won by Senator Clinton but disregarded, and the media bias, with or without collusion with the DNC,was shameful. Furthermore, unlike any other election, Senator Clinton was strong armed out of the primary and disallowed to take the nomination to the convention unlike T. Kennedy, FDR, Truman and others who had significantly less support in pledged delegates. The result is the nomination of a completely unvetted, ill-prepared, and inexperienced candidate who may be our next president. We are protesting the process which has resulted in the nomination of a candidate who has a very thin resume, who has ambiguous policies, and whose character and ideologies still remain in question. We are concerned that the 2008 nomination process and potential election of this candidate, unqualified to be president, has seriously compromised our democratic principles and places our country in jeopardy. We are not a passing phase, we are a movement and our voices will be heard.

#5 Hillgirl Great Post! I am so grateful so many still have their voice. Mine is still yet to return, after having it strangled out of me by the blatant and utterly offensive Sexism in the Media, that went unchecked all through the process of the Primaries. The fact that I am even able to muster a post is proof something is returning for me, and it will eventually gather steam, then, watch out. I am woman, hear me roar.

This is why I chose the nick “deadgirlsrise” as I hope other “dead girls” will rise again soon. Arise from the dead, find your voice, and fight. I am reminded of those old Virginia Slims cigarette ads which featured early feminists with the slogan “You’ve come a long way baby”… well, with this first cycle of the election, we’ve certainly taken quite a leap backwards. Were we beaten down? YES! Are we going to take this cr ap from them? O He11 NO!

What do you think?

#18 murphy on 06.27.08 at 7:50 am

Don’t forget to submit Puma PAC comments and questions to the Wash Post political Q&A now. The “chat” is at 11am. But they accept pre-sent comments/questions.

The WaPo is tough on Obama today all over the paper. Check it out.

TIPS: Be precise, concise, brief. Back up question with some evidence (a poll, a previous article etc.) Compliment the writer or editor (I’m a big fan, etc.)

#17 I meant lose in November.

#25 deadgirlsrise on 06.27.08 at 7:58 am

HillGirl, I am still mostly reading and reading, its helping me break the spell. Thanks to all the feisty women posting on CNN and other MSM sites, I found this site, immediately joined, and the rest, well, we will be making history together. I envision this movement swelling, coalescing, and that finally, finally, we will breakthrough the brick wall that separates us from true equality. I deal with the subtle ingrained sexism at work in an all-male field. The younger guys are great, the older guys, the guys from other, more “traditional” cultures, have a hard time working closely with me, not because I am objectionable, but mostly because it is not in their background to consider a woman as a true equal, and colleague who is not a threat.

However I hold the media to a higher standard. They are not the voice of the people, and no one has that illusion anymore. I think the masses will reform the media, the media has been Johnny come lately where it concerns the voice of the people. They were unable to compete with the alternative media, the bloggers, so they opened up opinion and articles to blogging. And little do they know, that will also be their undoing. Go Women, take back the party(s) and use your votes, your voice, and your energy to right this wrong. We hold the key to all of our futures, now don’t we?

#26 mpk on 06.27.08 at 8:01 am

I get the sense that some Democrats think that PUMAs and others like us are “cutting off our nose to spite our face”. I can understand why they might think that. However, unless someone (s) speak up, loudly and clearly, that an injustice has occurred then nothing changes. We can’t pretend that everything is as “usual” this is just the way politics works and all that nonsense. Actually PUMAs are the agents of change, hope and unity-not S. Obama-we know what change we want, we know what we are hoping for and we are unified in our actions to force the Democratic Party to act according to its principles

#27 hillfan4mccain on 06.27.08 at 8:03 am

Murphy … thank you for everything …

Your appearances on the news shows are great … you should try to book youself on The O’Reilly Factor, this is the # News Show … and FOX ratings have surpassed CNN and MSNBC, I’ve read.

I ‘d also like to thank all those going to Unity … to support Puma, Just Say No Deal, ClintonDems, and all others.

I was also wondering how the Flower’s To The Senate earlier in the week for Senator Clinton was received … have we heard anything or have any pictures??? I believe it was Shiela7 who coordinated this … thank you.

#29 murphy on 06.27.08 at 8:06 am

Hillgirl — your comment was great! I’ll be looking for it.

They seem to favor brief over factual tho ;-)

#30 Henerietta on 06.27.08 at 8:09 am

PUMAs in protest: I salute you! I live in Indiana, and cannot be there with you. You are carrying the message for all of us.

The message is party reform. The second message is that because the party is corrupt, we have an illegal nominee. Because we have an illegal nominee, we are refusing to vote for him.

All of the pundits thing we will eventually fall in line. Dona Brazille, A. Huffington, and others are continually going on MSM outlets to reassure the democrats that those ‘few’ of us will eventually get over our grief. They seem to think that once we ‘get it’ we will be ok with it. They truly do not understand.

#31 bluesgal on 06.27.08 at 8:11 am

Did any of you watch the Larry King show last night. Boy don’t these people ever listen to us. They keep saying we are going to vote for BO in November. The issues will make them come around. WEll, I first don’t think Bo is the right one to change anything for good in our country and he is not qualified. How can I change my mind when the Democrat party keeps putting this empty suit in my face, who is the worst candidate they have ever had. No way! I will never vote for BO. I will vote for McCain if Hillary’s not the nominee.

I would change my mind if they put Hillary as the nominee. That’s the only way I will vote for a Democrat this year.

#32 Hillgirl on 06.27.08 at 8:12 am

You can pay by credit card, check or money order. If paying by check, send Murphy an e-mail for the address.

Storytellers et al.
I think you are right on the money–Obama has no clue about foreign policy or the delicate balance of international affairs. This is one of my primary objections to his candidacy which I am afraid places our country in danger–we cannot afford to have an inexperienced, naive president in this volatile global climate.

HillGirl & deadgirlsrise–great letters. Better than a strong cup of coffee to get us going this morning.

Bluesgal- suggested something similar (tissue) the other day and we could write on them, “You might need this in November” or “I don’t grieve–I’m outta here” Whatever. It would cost just the price of a stamp to do.

Follow up on the flowers–we may have to toot that horn. I’m writing an editorial to my city’s newspaper in which I am telling them what was done for Hillary’s return to Congress, and why we did it. As we all know, positive things about Hillary tend to get buried under the mountain of @#!!!! they shovel out for Obama.

Perhaps someone in the VA area where her campaign office is located could write the DC-area papers and let them know how PUMAS paid tribute. Or we could look up their email address for news items and do it from anywhere in the USA. Or we could also follow up with a call to her office and just chat with someone friendly there about it.

To the PUMA soldiers on the road–Godspeed and keep those claws sharp!

#44 go_Ohio_Lady on 06.27.08 at 8:30 am

#38 Delray Beach Resident, I’m from Ohio but for the sake of the Florida voters in your district I hope they vote Wexler OUT when his re-election comes. I saw him on Hannity & Combs last night and Hannity could not get him to answer any of his questions. Wexler is a spin master! He screams and talks over people just like he did on May 31st at the UN-open DNC Committee meeting where they made their decision behind CLOSED doors to opt Hillary out.

Yes I read the blogs daily too. Since I can’t read the pdf files right now in the action center, I sort of have to see what’s going on thru the blogs or what Murphy says on the home page. I would also like to print some of those nice flyers everyone is talking about, but can’t right now because of the pdf files. Maybe, I will figure out what is wrong with my computer, one of these days. I know it is something simple.

Good Morning PUMA Family
In honor of the Unity protest – I wore my black jammies cause I wanted to be in the color when I got up this a.m.
:)

To Murphy or any Puma on here would like your opinion or suggestions.

I received an email a while back from McMahon (for the Chosen One) about upcoming events for the Chosen One…maybe others of you have to. I did not think anything of it as I do with most of the crap coming from him asking for our help. But on one of the early days post I remember a person saying you can put in your zip code and find what is in your area.

So I did so – CLICK FAST TO ENTER OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO KEEP LISTEINING TO THE CHOSEN ONE’S BLAH BLAH – and as that persons post said most of them were small groups of ppl at private home for BBQ’s, Potlucks etc.
BUT – if you click on “view event details” it gives you the name and addy of the person hosting. It also gives you the option to say yes, I will attend and no, I will not attend and you can leave a comment/message. Why would they want to know that you will not attend amazes me but then they are supporting the Chosen One so go figure! SO THIS IS MY QUESTION:

Would there be anything wrong with clicking no, I will not attend and I TRULY MEAN THIS PART – Just leave a simple unified message. It needs to be something that stands for us. I do not and would not put something like the things these supporters say or do. I thought it would be an opportunity to get our opinion to alot of the Chosen Ones supporter who ever they maybe….and maybe all of us can do it in all of our areas?
(Sorry – NO I’ll bring the Kool-Aid jokes no matter how tempting it may be :) !)

Asking for feedback
Thanks
Fellow Puma

If this was Hillary or McCain they sure would of. What makes this guy so speical?

#68 GA Moderate on 06.27.08 at 9:05 am

Thanks to PUMA’s for going to Unity. Wish I lived close and could join. Was infuriated again last night when women supporters of Hillary were dismissed as an issue in the campaign because it was to our best interest and we would come back. Don’t get that people don’t understand that there are a lot of us who have principles and will not vote for a marketing facade with no experience and selected by the Democratic Party leadership. Also if we Hillary supporters (men women, black, white, young and old) are all so irrevalent, why are we having a campaign event in Unity?

#69 LilyMaid on 06.27.08 at 9:05 am

I was listening to MSNBCs Morning Joe, but didn’t catch the name of one of the regular commentators, and just spent five minutes at their site trying to get his name. At about 8:44 Joe was asking him about the upcoming news, and the commentator said it would be heavily on the unity day. Then he added, “This may be the last chance we have to kick around the Clintons. They won’t be around anymore.”
A blatant admission that MSNBC has been kicking around the Clintons!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if anyone else caught his words.
Oh, the commentator is on the 9:00 program and was referred to as Chuck. I guess the excuse will be that he was joking.

#70 Lin4Hill on 06.27.08 at 9:06 am

mpk- Thanks for the heads up on the commentaries by Heidi Li on The Denver Group blogsite. Verrrry revealing. Also read Tom in Pain’s posting on a conversation with an Obama supporter, and laughed so hard…….another good way to start the day.

#71 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 9:07 am

If they want to show any kind of Unity besides the dog and poney show and if they have any desire to have Hillary as the VP then today would be the day to pull that off. What a shock to the media that would be. If i was running their camp I would wait until the last minute to pull that off.

Hillary as VP wouldn’t change the fact that Obama is arrogant, morally corrupt and vastly inexperienced. It would only lend a measure of credibility to the ticket. No secret that Obama has the utmost disrespect for Hillary.

#83 SparkForHill on 06.27.08 at 9:21 am

BO’s unity is completely destroying the others, so that they would never be able to come back. If he could put his feet in others’ shoe, he sure will understand what his is doing.
How many opponents’ reputation have not been ruined by it?

Is the Party unity on sale $$?

#84 mimi1020 on 06.27.08 at 9:21 am

Right on ChristineRI. Not even if she is VP will I vote for HIM! NOBAMA, NOWAY!

#85 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 9:23 am

I am torn if he does pick Hillary as the VP. Right now if she isn’t there is no way I can vote for BHO for all the reasons mentioned above.

#86 1of18MilforHill08 on 06.27.08 at 9:23 am

#80 ChristineRI
I agree…besides she would be the one doing all the work and him sitting back and taking all the credit. I believe as things go on it would affect her creditibility also….I even think so now with what she is being “forced” to do for the Chosen One. How do you go back been @$*& starts to happen and say the opposite about the Chosen One. All around what she is being forced to do is Wrong but she really has no choice….but then there is August and then the Big November…he will never get my vote -ever!

#87 Hillgirl on 06.27.08 at 9:24 am

LilyMaid,
I heard the comment by Chuck Todd on MSNBC. Yep, it was repulsive as usual. Maybe we need to show Mr. Todd some PUMA “love” and email MSNBC! They might prefer kicking some PUMA’s around, but we are ready with our teeth bared and our claws out!

#88 Hillgirl on 06.27.08 at 9:26 am

With regard to the VP choice–I really do not want Hillary as VP and this is why. 1. It is an affirmation of the “woman’s place”–second. 2. She will do all of the work and he will get the credit. We have already seen that in the primary that he continually dissed her brilliant policies and then plagiarized them. So, VP in my opinion would be a bad move for Hillary.

#89 dmrr on 06.27.08 at 9:27 am

I honestly think that putting Hillary on the ticket as VP would cause her political damage for any future run…it certainly would help him – but if he manages to win and he is the ineffective buffoon he promises to be, it diminishes Hillary’s credibility…

#90 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 9:27 am

Some how Obama is winning with just words and maybe people will wake up and smell the roses, but in PUMA’s case it just can’t be words, they need action and hopefully today is the beginning.

I only heard part of it which was enough to disgust me. I am calling and emailing MSNBC and NBC cause Chuck Todd is a NBC commentator (I use that word VERY loosely)!

I never watch those stations but sometimes in flip channels I hear OUR GIRLS name and I listen to see if it is good or bad…..on those channels usually bad

#93 ChristineRI on 06.27.08 at 9:33 am

I think he may ask her to be VP because he NEEDS her. After all, she did actually win the Dem primary. He needs her donors, her votes, her credibility and experience. He has nothing on his own. He is also going to have a hard time finding someone who WANTS to run with him. The Democrats that endorse him do so because of the pressures of the DNC, but push comes to shove, they’ll only go so far. Running with him is another can of worms. Political suicide.

#95 LilyMaid on 06.27.08 at 9:34 am

#96 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 9:35 am

I agree with what was said so far about Hillary being the VP, but look what we have had the last 8 years, at this point do care who gets credit for what as long as something is being done? Maybe behind the scenes she can keep him in line and they can send him out and speak about things.

#97 vadaryl on 06.27.08 at 9:39 am

No one is knocking down the door to become his VP. That has to mean something. Also how many donors did not show up last night? At this point he should have no problems getting her donors, getting people wanting to be his VP, I think the only one now is Richardson.

#98 ChristineRI on 06.27.08 at 9:39 am

Obama is arrogant, morally corrupt, insincere, elitist, inept and radical. Even Hillary as VP isn’t worth THAT gamble.

#99 Margaret on 06.27.08 at 9:39 am

Good morning everyone, Here’s the question I posted but I forgot to mention that I am a proud Puma. I too can’t wait to see the signs on tv. Thank God for all you Puma’s who are able and willing to fight the fight.

Any honest citizen would have to admit that had it been Sen. Clinton’s minister saying those horrible things, or if Odinga had been her cousin, or if she had to donate over $200,000 to charity because of it’s shady source, she would have disqualified or shamed and harassed until she dropped out of the race. How can the DNC and Nancy Polosi and all the people who support Sen. Obama justify sweeping all of those issues under a carper, yet calling for Sen. Clinton to drop out of the race before the primary elections were even over? If you ask me, that is the true definition of discrimination coming from the party leaders who were responsible for making sure the elections are fair and honest.

#100 nativegirl on 06.27.08 at 9:39 am

#104 dmrr on 06.27.08 at 9:45 am

#94 She is only as important to him as VP as to what she can bring the general election – he, as an egotist, would never allow it to appear that she was helping to craft his policies lest he be accused of the same type of Bush/Cheney relationship where it is said that Cheney is actually pulling the strings…

#105 Hillgirl on 06.27.08 at 9:46 am

Here is my response to Chuck Todd. Gotta go. Good luck with the Unity Day!

Dear Mr. Todd,
I don’t usually watch MSNBC because of the blatant anti-Clinton bias and rampant misogyny that has been expressed over the past 17 months. However, I occasionally flip to Morning Joe because I do respect Joe Scarborough as a fair reporter who has shown Senator Clinton the respect that she deserves as an American Hero. Of course I caught your snide comment about “we won’t have the Clinton’s to kick around much longer”. A comment such as this, just confirms the idiotic, biased, and vitriolic spirit by which your network and others have covered this campaign. You have refused to cover the campaign based upon the issues, as a reporter of journalistic integrity might, but rather, you and your compatriots insist on expressing your own vapid and ill-informed opinions. For your information , if you knew anything about Senator Clinton, you would know that she has a resume unequaled by most, including yourself, that highlights a life of altruistic public service, international diplomacy, outspoken support for human rights, service on the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Pentagon Iraq Transformation Task Force, and significant bi-partisan legislation. In addition, and unlike you, she is a true leader who has inspired millions to stand up with dignity and grace under fire, to stand strong for principles and morality, and to dedicate one’s life to improving the status quo. This is a true leader who inspires by her very life work, her courage, and compassion. So , Mr. Todd, next time you decide to “diss” Senator Clinton, or her husband, for that matter, take a good look in the mirror first. Ask yourself if you have contributed even one millionth of what these human beings have to your country, your world or your universe.

I haven’t had time to read all the posts this morning but wanted to get this out as early as I could – C-Span will be broadcasting live from the Unity event in NH beginning at 1 p.m.

DNC delegate who’d vote for McCain in fight
By JAMES A. CARLSON – 9 hours ago

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Democratic National Convention delegate pledged to Hillary Rodham Clinton says she hopes to fight off an attempt by Wisconsin Democrats to take away her credentials because of her past statement that she would vote for John McCain if Clinton wasn’t the nominee.

“Keeping national delegate status is very important to me,” Debra Bartoshevich said Thursday. “I believe that Hillary is the better candidate of all of them.”

It will help us to get her on national TV again.

Here’s the link:

I wrote.
I saw Darragh Murphy on “Fox and Friends” and was convinced by her that the PUMApac movement is about restoring democracy to the Democratic Party not whining about loses. She gave off NO sense of agrievment, only justified anger with a faulty and fraudulent process that produced an inexperienced, race card playing presumptive nominee. In America we count all the votes and I think the PUMA action is about watchdogging (pun intended) to ensure that each vote is counted.

Besides the fact that now she is “praising” Hillary, she all of a sudden is interested in gay rights (funny that only happened when she was in a room full of gay people with checkboks) Barack clearly said that gay marriage was nothing more then a diversion from the real issues. what hypocrites. well this lesbian is not writing checks to the O team and i’m offended!

Good Morning Pumas, good luck in Unity today, my spirit is with you.

Hillary VP-Senator Obama is too vain and arrogant to allow Hillary to overshadow him; yes, I believe he wants to win at any cost and would consider Hillary for VP but to her own disdain she would be locked away quietly. She will do the work but he will take the credit, the Clintons are too powerful for Senator Obama that will not work for him; he is only using Hillary now to help him get there, he might go with Joe Biden-Delaware since Nunn from Georgia has been ousted with his connections to Iran.

As much as I want Hillary in the WH not this position, she is too good for being his sidekick.

Let the flip-flopping baby bird fly by itself, he has not done anything so far to win, it’s been given to him.

1. Hilary country. Older and working class voters.
2. Disenfranchised in 08. Half delegates taken away.

Just a suggestion.

I am baffled by all that has happened over the last 17 months. I can not understand why the media and the dnc have placed this inexperienced, self centered, chosen one on a thrown to be worshipped. I am truly afraid of what could happen if *61 is president and I am only venting right now because this is the only place I feel united with people who feel the same way. My friend yesterday said she thinks I am basically losing it thinking about this all the time and she is a Hillary supporter but her words lead me to believe she is “falling in line.” I said that I am not losing it, but I can not stomach the injustice that is unfolding right in front of us. This is the USA, not Cuba.

Re: The Denver Group

To whomever posted the Denver Group link (can’t remember if it’s above or on a previous blog entry or I would thank you by name) thank you so much for drawing our attention to this group!

I checked the link and they are up and running now ready, willing and able to accept donations for ad placements, etc. Their goals are right up our alley, regarding the convention. To anyone who has not already done so, I urge you to take a look at their site and I hope we align ourselves with them (if we haven’t already done so, that is).

Secure your seat belts, No Quarter readers, for this editorial by Jospeh McQuaid of the New Hampshire Union Leader is guaranteed to jolt you from your chairs.

NEW HAMPSHIRE RESIDENTS, grab something sturdy today. Barack Obama is coming and his ability to switch positions on major issues is dizzying. It wouldn’t matter, except Obama wants to become President. If that happens, hold on for dear life.

This is the man who eloquently declined to disassociate himself from his hate-filled friend and pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. His “incendiary” remarks were taken out of context, Obama said. He was like family, like a grandma.

But Obama cooly threw “grandma” under the bus when it became politically advantageous.

I would bet they dangled VP at him so he would endorse THE WEEK REVEREND WRIGHT BROKE!!

From Womenforfairpolitics.com
UNITY?
NO. NOT THIS YEAR.

The Democrats have decided to stage a “Unity” rally in in a town called Unity on Friday attempting to unite Hillary Clinton supporters with Barack Obama supporters. Well, Hillary must do what she has to do. Hillary supporters must do what we have to do. Unity? No. Not this year.

Unity? No. Not this year. The Democratic party has blown it for 2008. The Democratic party must be held accountable for their failure to denounce the rampant sexism, classism, racism and voter disenfranchisement continually interjected into this campaign by Barack Obama, his campaign and supporters. In fact, the DNC is complicit in disenfranchising voters in Michigan and Florida. Is this the same party that demanded that every vote be counted in 2000 and 2004? Unity? No. Not this year.

This week Barack Obama met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and apparently told Representative Diane Watson (D) California (a Hillary Clinton supporter) that if elected “John McCain is going to pick a Supreme Court that will roll back the gains women have made in the last 50 years”. Apparently, Obama told CBC members that Hillary supporters need to “get over it”. Apparently, Obama said “he bit his tongue many times during the primary campaign with Hillary Clinton”. Waa Waa. Apparently, Barack Obama needs to hold his own tongue. The ole hook of fearmongering on overturning Roe v Wade is NOT going to work this year. Women’s issues are about far more than abortion. The U.S. Supreme Court could attempt to overturn Roe v Wade right now if they wanted to. They do not. Unity? No. Not this year.

Obama flip flops on NAFTA, AGAIN. He was for Nafta, against NAFTA and is apparently, now for it again, explaining that “Sometimes during the campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified”. Yes, Ohio primary mailings from Obama were sent calling NAFTA “A big mistake” and “a bad trade deal” and accusing Hillary of flip flopping on NAFTA. Hmm. Now, Obama claims that he’s not in favor of “doing things unilaterally”. Political rhetoric indeed. Unity? No. Not this year.

Obama angers the left wing netroots and the majority of Democrats with his announcement that he will vote for the FISA bill. Obama claims to be a “constitutional law expert” but apparently fails to interepret the Fourth Amendment correctly. Unity? No. Not this year.

Hillary Clinton continues to be the subject of media attacks and attacks by Obama supporters who think it’s okay to make jokes about Hillary “poisoning the tea and food” if she’s VP. It’s not okay. What WILL the media do without Hillary to kick around? So many have made their fortunes off both Hillary and Bill Clinton. Unity? No. Not this year.

Where have all the women’s voices been in 2008 while Hillary was being villified in all media 24/7 for a year and a half? Those who have access to the microphones and opinion pages were inexplicably silent. A hope of many women and men is that the misogyny exposed in this 2008 campaign debacle will result in a rise of a new women’s movement with a stronger voice and message. For decades, women have been the majority voting block of the Democratic party, supporting the party under the illusion that the Democratic party supported women. We were wrong. Unity? No. Not this year.

The 2008 election is about a fight for the heart and soul of the Democratic party. We must put our country first and party second. Obama must be defeated in order to take back the party and redefine what it means to be a Democrat going forward. The Democratic party understands two things, money and votes. We have the power to with hold both. Do So. UNITY? NO. NOT THIS YEAR.

Chicago corrupt politicans have loved *61 since he kicked his first opponent (well liked good public servent opponent) off the slate using his sleazy tactics.

The Chicago machine recognized in him one who played the game perfectly and at such a young age! (Bet they couldn’t believe their luck with his fast Eddie smooth talk and his editorship of Harvad Law Review — which I bet he used sleazy tactics to win that election, too.)

Birds of a feather flock together. They could count on him to scratch their backs if they scratched his. The policos introduce him around. The Chicago powerful and wealthy took to him. The tradition of the press backing him up starts here. He becomes insulated. They scratch his back … he scratches their back.

Obamas have and will say whatever is necessary and convenient to get elected. That is their past. That is all they know. …

Thank you to all Pumas going to (un)Unity today. Pls keep us posted throughout the day.

From the article referenced at donedems.com – “The setting is remote, making it difficult for people to attend. The entire road will be shut down in front of the elementary school where the event is to take place. Only official Obama campaign buses will be allowed to travel the road, forcing anyone wanting to attend the event to sign up on his web-site and park several miles away, then travel on his buses. This does not sound like a real attempt at addressing the causes of the disunity in the party. It seems like an elaborate way to control the media message and weed out dissent. It is Unity through purge.”

——————————————————–

This was my response – Actually, it’s more closely resembling faschism!

Wake up America! This guy is an arrogant fascist and so are those who are pushing him into power. With his arrogant, flip-flopping, POTUS seal changing attitude now can you imagine what will happen if he is elected to POTUS. He’ll be able to pick and choose what he wants to hear, be able to do what he wants and no one will hold his feet to the fire for it, he’ll be able to completely control the media – all nay-sayers and dissent will be quashed (just like they have been over the course of the Dem primaries).

Fight on Pumas! BO sacre the carp out of this US Patriot!

My comment to the Washington Post:

First off, I want to know what the DNC has against John McCain when he was on Kerry’s shortlist for VP in 2004. I would love a McCain/Clinton ticket or a Clinton/McCain ticket. John McCain has been overall respectful of people he disagrees with (most Democrats) throughout this primary season. At the beginning of the primaries, I thought Clinton was the perfect candidate for the Democrats because of the economy. I still do and would vote for her in a heartbeat. However, based on my issues, fair democracy, israel, the economy, gas prices–and a very real concern about ridding the Democratic party of voter intimidation and fraud, John McCain is totally my second choice.

I haven’t had a chance to read all the posts this morning but I just wanted to comment on how the MSM has been reporting all those polls that have BO breaking way ahead of McCain. Today the Gallup poll has them tied at 44% to 44%.
What’s up with that?

#212 BrooklynNY on 06.27.08 at 11:22 am

Last night on CNN, Larry King and Anderson Cooper 360, representatives of Emily’s List (executive director, Ellen Moran) and spokesperson for Womenforfairpolitics.com – think her name was Cindy, but I don’t remember her last name) were interviewed re: women’s position on “falling in line” with the D. party’s choice for king, etc. -

Ellen Moran came across as a Stepford-wife type airhead, convinced Obama is going to save us from the big bad wolf aka Republican party boogeyman trying to take away our right to abortion and keep us in Iraq for 100 years, yada yada yada….

Womenforfairpolitics spokesperson was excellent! Very articulate, concise, steadfast in our anti-Democratic party stance and support for J. McCain should Hillary not be the nominee. She came across as intensely more intelligent and knowlegable about the issues and the circumstances.

Ellen Moran looked nervous, ill-at-ease, i.e. phoney smile – the works.

Suggestion: Might be a good idea to disabuse the lady that we are all onboard (or will be) with DNC, that we don’t care a rat’s a$$ about losing Roe v Wade (cause we know it won’t happen) and that Emily’s List is an organization that is out-of-touch with the times, etc., and does not follow it’s own mandate, i.e. electing women to public office! All those years of contributing and supporting it have been for nothing! The first chance it has to actually live up to its declared objective in the most meaningful way, it fails and it fails miserably – instead, contributing to the destruction of an overwhelmingly qualified, prepared and able candidate (regardless of gender) who happens to be a woman and backing the most incompetent, least experienced, most unqualified and dangerously unvetted MALE candidate we’ve seen in my lifetime, if not American history!

I’d like to see the woman (Emily’s List exec. dir. that is) get flooded with mail cc’d to media outlets…..just to let her know we don’t agree with her take and we’re not stupid enough to fall for the DNC bs, etc.) We think for ourselves and when we see a duck we know it’s a duck, no matter how many times the DNC tries to tell us its not.

#213 DancesWithPumas on 06.27.08 at 11:23 am

Lost the link, but a Senator Clinton big contributor related a conversation between Obama and and herself.
This is a snippet:

She asked the candidate whether he would reach out to former President Bill Clinton. Obama reacted positively — sort of.

“I’m cool with that,” he reportedly told her.

She found that outrageous. “‘Cool with that?’ Are you kidding me?”

We are right there with you in spirit, I live in Ft Collins Colorado (1 hour from Denver) and we will be protesting the DNC at the convention……. I wish we could be there with you in Unity NH to send the PUMA message with you…….

Murphy, If Hillary truly supports BHO then you are my new hero!

By the way, I am a 38 year old, white, straight, Regan Democrat that just made a jump to the “Patriot Party”.

Murphy, you are an inspiration to me and all other patriotic Americans that wish to insure the sovereignty of this great nation!

Please do not give up the fight, this goes for everyone here reading this now…. It is your duty and obligation as an American Citizen to pass along this message of “truth” to your fellow Americans!

As Mel Gibson said in Braveheart, “What will you do without your freedom”?

The Media will try to make us think that we are small in numbers but the fact is….. When, “EVER” in history has any party, made this kind of fuss over “Party Unity”….. Let alone set up “Unification” Rally’s (Give me a break)

Even going as far as holding the first one in “Unity, NH” (How poetic / pathetic)

I would like to see if there is any way to bring up charges against the DNC, members of the MSM and BHO Campaign for TREASON…..

Treason

–noun

1. The offense of acting to overthrow one’s government or to harm or kill its sovereign.

2. A violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state.

3. The betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

The DNC, members of the MSM and BHO Camp need to be formally charged with TREASON for violating “ALL” of the definitions of TREASON listed above from “Dictionary.com”…..

This is no joke! I am dead serious and will be honored to join the “Patriotic American Army” in the inevitable
“Civil War II” that is sure to come if these allegations are not “properly” investigated and criminal prosecution is not conducted…..

There is more than enough “PROOF” that the DNC and MSM manipulated this election by withholding information, providing misinformation, manipulation of the election rules and manipulation of the votes and delegates themselves.

These above mentioned parties have “acted to overthrow our government and harm or kill our sovereign”…..

The forefathers of this great nation created the 2nd amendment in order for the USA citizens to protect the freedom and sovereign of this great nation…..

If the current “Elitist” group (that has pretended to act as our Government) will not allow for a full, unbiased, independent investigation to be conducted in regards to this “bogus” election, than the citizens of this country must take the appropriate action to insure the freedom of this nation for our children!

As frightening as this may sound, the only true recourse “after all others have been exhausted” is to form a new faction that is willing overthrow the current “rogue government” that has hijacked our nation, corrupted our election process and is currently trying to dismantle our constitution.

A New Government should eventually be installed and comprised of “Patriots” that are willing to die in order to uphold the laws as set fourth in the original Constitution, “without deviation, or misrepresentation”.

Modifications will need to be assessed; by all the members of a New Government and the only additions or modifications that can be made to the original Constitution are ones that insure even more rights and less power to the Government.

Any changes or alterations must be made with a unanimous, majority decision of all “4” branches of government

Legislative
Executive
Judicial
Citizenry

Yes, 4 branches of Government, the “Citizenry Branch” would be the Citizens of this greater nation and the voice of this branch would be the majority vote of the Citizenry itself.

In the words of Charlton Heston at the National Rifle Association:

“I’ll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands!”

It is up to “We the People” to determine when this countries sovereignty and freedom have been attacked and I for one say that time is now,

It is up to “We the People” to fix our Government!

***Proposed Action***

I know we are working on gathering newspaper information for print media ads (esp smaller papers in swing states).

Before I jump to explaining what is running through my mind today, what I propose is this:

Run an ad in the Washington Post Express, ASAP

For those who aren’t familiar, the Express is the Post’s free daily paper and is handed out to commuters at Metro stops each morning. It has very high visibility. You may get one yourself, or pick up a stray on the metro. It has a captive audience so to speak. Many of the commuters are Federal Gov’t employees as well, so it would be very hard to overlook. It would also hit local students, as well as downscale bitter, wait I mean hard-working folks ;) Sorry… can’t resist!

They list daily readership as over 285,000
Here are some ad placement details:
http://www.readexpress.com/advertise/General.pdf

It would be very high profile, but way less expensive than an ad in a major newspaper (even the Post itself)

It seems to me that one of the biggest problems we face is that people don’t understand:
1) who we are
2) how many of us there are
3) that this is more than bitterness we’ll get over
4) it’s not just about Hillary ‘losing’ – the Democratic party needs reform.
5) we are first rational, then emotional. Emotional BECAUSE we have rationally come to a conclusion based on fact. Typical of the sexism rampant, there seems to be a pervasive idea that this is an emotional response … our grief over “our” candidate losing. Our passion is not what makes us think what we do. It is not what drives us to action. They see Emotion leading to Thought and then Action, when in reality it is the Thought that drives both Action and Emotion.

I think to some extent the dismissive they’ll get over it is based on misunderstanding us– that we’re just mad Hillary lost. If that were all it were about, I can understand where they are coming from. What we need to do is spread the word not only that we are out there and fighting, but make sure everyone understands WHAT we are fighting for. I am not saying that has not been done– Murphy has done a wonderful job when she’s been interviewed! :) I’m only suggesting we need to spread that info more widely…

Kucinich won’t rally for Obama until he gets answers
By Joey Michalakes
Posted: 06/27/08 10:23 AM [ET]

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) has yet to officially endorse Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for president and indicated he will not rally his liberal supporters this fall until he knows “what the party stands for.”
In an interview this week, Kucinich said it is too early to see which direction the Democratic Party is headed this election year. Pressed on when a formal endorsement of Obama would be announced, Kucinich replied, “[Obama and I] will be talking.”

Interesting article! Personally I hope BO and all his donors and supporters remain as haughty and arrogant as they’ve always been. They’re not going to win that way! They just don’t get it. BO uses his words in a prepared speech to sound pretty and say one thing but his true feelings really come out when he’s asked questions.

#238 TrishfromCanada on 06.27.08 at 11:45 am

I looked at some of the pictures, she really doesn’t look comfortable, I feel sorry for her, they’ve put her in a very awkward position. In their eyes she is a senator, yet they want her to campaign through a Presidential election, is this the DNC’s attempt to redicule women everywhere, and to get the last laugh on Hillary by abusing her principles and dedication to the Democratic Party and her country.

Spineless creatures who think they are superior to all. The last laugh will be on them when boywonder drowns in his own set of lies.

Well, the Washington Post didn’t answer either of my questions, but the closest he has come to answering the birth certificate thing is this:

Orlando, Fla.: Do you know if candidates have to submit proof of citizenship for running for office? If so, have you verified Obama’s?

Paul Kane: Come on. Seriously? Folks, this is a real question from a real reader of washingtonpost.com.

I chose to answer it just so others can see what goes through some people’s minds.

Of course, the left is just as guilty. There are some who’ve tried to say that since McCain was born in the Panam Canal he can’t be president.

Get over it, folks.

“Hillary, ever the good trooper and team player, gave Barack an intro to her big dollar donors and an opportunity to start the healing. But Barack continues to play the role of petulant bore. He gave an uninspired, mechanical speech. The charm exhibited on the campaign trail that left women swooning, was missing in action. Folks from the Hillary camp described the speech as snobbish, arrogant, and boring. But it was Barack’s response to questions from Hillary’s supporters that produced sour bile.”

I don’t know about you, but I think this quote applies to all of us! I had a suggestion for Murphy to look at. Let me know what you all think too.

I think a great addition to our website would be a compliation of all of the reasons PUMA exists. I’ve seen people post long lists of why we will never vote for Barack Obama. Why not consolidate all of these lists into one big list, viewable by everyone who visits the site. It would be something for the Obamabots to look at because you know they’re looking at us closely. Same goes for Hillary’s people and the media.

Good late morning my fellow PUMAs:
I’m just reading the Denver Group post and they talk about Dr. Heidi Li Feldman being a lawyer and advocate for their cause and HRC.
In yesterday’s blogs, kempion, Lara08 and several others were talking about legal actions, I include myself.
Wouldn’t be a good idea to tag alone with the Denver Group and Dr. Feldman’s legal inquiries?
My 5 cents from the peanut gallery: It’s the smart move to do regarding legal action for the PUMA PAC.

I’m not a big poster, but I read just about evrything that’s going on and link to…

mamapuma:
You are absolutly right, the numbers will make a difference and got to be some action towards those that are no so blogy savy.
My take, as I have expressed before, is looking into consolidation of the factions that are more in line with each other’s core values.

#228 -Most states have newspaper networks that enable you to buy advertising in newspapers across the state at a discounted rate. For example WNA or MNA (Wisconsin/Minnesota Newspaper Association respectively) In addition, some newspaper groups (those who own papers/shoppers in various cities/towns) provide multi-paper buys that enable you to place an ad in each of their papers at a discounted column inch rate. One paper places the ad at all the other locations you choose for you. These are options that you might want to explore – keep in mind that newspapers generally charge a different column inch rate for political advertising which can be more expensive than the usual display ad.

IF BHO IS ELECTED PRESIDENT, I LIKE WILLIAM AYERS BHO’S BED BUDDY WILL DECLARE “WAR” ON THE USA AS MANY OTHERS WILL…..

I AM NOT RACIST, I VOTE FOR THE PERSON NOT THE PARTY, I WOULD VOTE FOR COLIN POWELL (UNLESS HE SUPPORTS BHO)

#157 william DenverCO – your flower question–I know they all got sent, because we got confirmations. Whether anyone on her staff took pictures of her with them–we don’t know. I have suggested that we follow up ourselves on this, perhaps even calling her office in VA again to get some feedback. We can make this significant gesture from PUMAS news if we put it out there. (Sheila7 has that phone number) For many reasons, Hillary’s people may have to keep what we did under the radar–but I know there had to be some emotional effect.

I have suggested that we undertake the PR of it ourselves and contact our local newspapers–one from each state–and write an editorial describing what we did and why. I have a question in now to my own paper in Alabama and am awaiting a reply. We are going to have to make our own paw prints on this one.

#212 BrooklynNY – I too get so furious when these WOMEN get on the talk shows and dredge up that tired argument about Roe v. Wade. As I’ve said before, women don’t vote with their uterus–they vote with their brains.

#236 mcr – I am surprised that there might be something anti-Obama on Jon Stewart. I had to stop watching him several weeks ago when he was especially unkind to Hillary and everything began to have a definite Obama-ambience. Is this hopeful he’s seeing some cracks in Obama? Also had to give up Bill Mahr–he got so hateful.

Hello everyone,
I haven’t read people’s posts yet, so I apologize if this is repeat information. I picked this up from another website, so I don’t know how valid the information is. One would have to do some digging. -Lara08

———————–
Ed Hale from http://www.hcsfjm. com/ has initiated this lawsuit.
Federal lawsuit is now in the works to get an injunction barring the DNP from making Obama their nominee. According to the state laws in Hawaii that were in effect at the time of Obama’s birth he may not be a Natural-born citizen. The law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986. A child must be born to TWO U.S. Citizen parents “…If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least FIVE of which had to be after the age of 16.†Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. Citizen and Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because of Hawaii being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years **prior to** Barack Obama’s birth, but *after* age 16. It doesn’t matter *after* . In essence, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18 in Hawaii. His mother would have needed to have been 16+5= 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen. As aforementioned, she was a young college student at the time and was not. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have waited to have him as the only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office

*** Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President. *** Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16. Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia.

MarylandPUMA is going to add this to the Action Center later but I thought I’d give everyone a heads up now. Note: You don’t have to be gay or lesbian to participate, you can be a friend of LGBTs to march.

There are several Pride events coming up soon that Obama supporters plan to march in or meet at. It would be good to see if we can find some PUMAs to participate too. The Chicago Pride in particular would be good. From what I hear, Obama will NOT be marching in the Chicago Pride parade. Hillary Clinton marches in Pride parades, even Republican Rudy Guliani marched in the NYC Pride Parade when he was mayor of NY. Maybe in Chicago, PUMAs can have signs saying “Where is Obama?”.

It’s obvious that they are targeting key states (MI, FL, PA, OH) so we need to have a presence there too.

Most of these parades have no fee to walk in the parades but require prior registration for participation. I see no reason why we can’t use the information on the Obama website to organize against them.

or mostly, which isn’t even probably true.

278 Ario I agree 25% is no small number.

We need to make this more about the issues of democracy and the process of selection, the positions of the founding fathers and their views on political parties IMHO.

That would be a more effective line of reasoning in my view, but I am just one of many voices.

How do we allow those voices to sing the same song?

unknown as yet.

Keep posting those updates on what they’re saying and doing up there at the Unity farce!

Did was sent to me via e-mail…………remember the 57 states comment……..

-From Rush Limbaugh’s radio show May 26th…. INTERESTING

RUSH:
Hey, folks, Want to participate in tweaking the Drive-By Media? You are aware, probably, that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states. You heard this? And everybody chalked it up to, ‘Well, he’s tired.’

You know, this is a Dan Quayle moment. I mean, Dan Quayle goes out there and misspells ‘potato,’ and we still hear jokes about it. Barack Obama says he’s gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it’s been such a long campaign, he’s been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states.

Well, I have here a printout from a website called the International Humanist and Ethical Union. And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins. ‘Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating.’

We’re participating here in a tweak of the media. Obama said he’s going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states. ‘Every year from 1999 to 2005, the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states,’ this is from the International Humanist and Ethical Union. And the title of the piece here is, ‘How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council,’ and there are 57 of them.

So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?

I’ll wager he did say what was on his mind. He is a Humanist, his heart is still Islamic and he really meant that he is campaigning for the 57 states. How many of us knew the significance of 57 states… why would he recall
“57 states” if he was not keenly aware of it and had it on his mind?

Yuk. Clinton supporter who was at the Mayflower last night on Fox now — Tony Podesta, dem strategist — saying that donors from last night are joining the obama campaign. Dems are a family, we all want the same thing, Obama is brilliant. Event was great in uniting two camps. Bill and Obambie will be working together soon. Yuk.

Just watching the two of them on the plane makes my stomach turn. I know this is not easy for Hillary, she’s stronger than I am, I would have stood my ground and gone to the convention. I hope we have enoujgh people to vote for McCain to turn the election around as he seems to be winning over some people. At least, that’s what the polls say and can we believe the polls? I have not been able to convince anyone to change their vote. They are drunk with kool-aid. I don’t see any way she can go to the convention with the DNC behind O. The only thing we can hope for is that he self-destructs.

#317 Taffy on 06.27.08 at 1:02 pm

probably good thing I’m not there. my blood is boiling just watching! THIS IS WRONG!!! There has been no convention. The people haven’t spoken. The DNC has!

That is truly what is so scary about this whole thing, and hence the word fascism comes to my mind over and over again with regards to this whole left-wing undemocratic “movement”. It sets off some real warning bells in my gut, did so a long time ago but I was unable to pinpoint the cause of my angst until now. ‘They’ (and we know who they are) are content to enact controls that dissuade and basically seek to drown out any and all dissenting voices. It’s a very troubling start to a very troubling “new course” for our Democratic Party, and not that one I’d personally like to be unified with.

Do like me – DON’T WATCH! It will only make you sick. Hillary is strong and so are her 18 million supporters. He will NOT get elected and HRC WILL BE PREZ in 2012 – take it to the bank. #438 Lara08 on 06.27.08 at 1:35 pm

Well, I didn’t watch the unity event, but saw the yahoo “news” story about it. I have a pretty good idea of what it was about. In a way this frees us. Now they can’t accuse the Clintons of supposedly being bitter. Now it can’t be their fault when BO loses (if BO’s name is even on the ballot in November). HC and BC obviously did all they could to help this so-called presidential candidate. The Clintons are off the hook. Not even HC can make BO palatable. What I saw was HC continuing to be loyal to her party no matter what. That’s what you want in a leader. Now the media and the rest of the country has to focus on BO as a candidate and not HC and whether or not she will support him.

To wrap up- I’m still not voting for BO and I’m still going to fight to get HC on the ballot.

Best,
Lara08

Also, I’m beginning to think we need another conservative on the bench to stop all the illegals from coming in, Real ID Act only way. If you’re not a criminal, who cares if you have an ID card, they can track you with your SS# which can be stolen.

Wish she would quit praising O, it must be hard for her but she’s putting on a good face.

I thought the same thing about the chair, too. She has to stand. The chair is a stool set to high for her to even get into gracefully.

#495 Firebelle Puma on 06.27.08 at 1:45 pm

I can barely stand listening to Hillary this morning. I can’t stand to see her stumping for him.

Dear friends, I apologize for re-posting something from yesterday. But I need this bit of cheering up too. I hope it brings all of us some comfort.

To my fellow Pumas who mourn the show of unity Hillary must now provide, I offer this …

I like to look at this as though I were a fiction writer who understands that great stories demand great conflict. Great stories demand that the heroine be continually beset with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, each one bigger and tougher than the one before it, until finally it appears that all is lost. Then, and only then, can the writer allow the heroine to emerge victorious and provide the audience with the most delicious and satisfying ending possible.

This is still Act II, dear Pumas, not Act III. And in Act II, things must still get worse before they can get better. Our heroine Hillary fought valiantly during a difficult primary season, and yet she failed to secure the nomination. So now, the plot thickens. Now our heroine Hillary must do the heretofore unthinkable and infiltrate enemy territory. It’s a more daring and precarious plan that she has undertaken before, but her options are few.

Key to her success is convincing the evil Nobama and his ilk that she supports him wholeheartedly. But her loyal Pumas know better. So do our allies in other camps. It’s a ruse. It’s a diversion. It’s 18 million cracks in a glass ceiling through which we can slip in and attack. It is a brilliant plan, dear Pumas.

Like you, I fear for our heroine Hillary in the clutches of the evil Nobama. But we must remain brave and stalwart Pumas. We must do the things that our heroine Hillary cannot do now.

Sadly, not all of us can march on Denver. Not all of us have the resources to help pay down Hillary’s debt. Not all of us are gifted at writing letters and emails. But by pooling our energies and resources, we can do great things. Together, we are invincible.

#496 zombiefortruth on 06.27.08 at 1:45 pm

#504 MountainSong on 06.27.08 at 1:47 pm

I don’t believe there is much chance of achieving unity within the Democratic Party, in light of recent events.
And,although I do understand Hillary’s pressing need to recoup her financial losses, supporting Obama is NOT the way to do it. Nor will it unite the Party.
On another note, this news item appeared today:

Bolton: Israel Will Strike Iran if Obama is Elected

Wednesday, June 25, 2008 4:32 PM

By: Rick Pedraza Article Font Size

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton believes Israel will stage a raid against Iran’s nuclear facilities if Democratic nominee Barack Obama wins the upcoming presidential election in November.

Bolton, often labeled a resolute neo-conservative, believes the Israeli attack would take place sometime between the day after Obama’s win and his inauguration on January 20 of next year.

In an interview with FOX News, Bolton says, “I think if they are to do anything, the most likely period is after our elections and before the inauguration of the next President.”

Bolton reasons Israel won’t be able to hold off a strike on Iran any longer than that given the Illinois senator’s intended foreign policy toward the Islamic Republic.

“I don’t think they [the Israeli government] will do anything before our election because they don’t want to affect it,” he says, adding, “They’d have to make a judgment whether to [strike] during the remainder of President Bush’s term in office or wait for his successor.”

Bolton points to Obama’s statements in which he says he would engage Iran in direct talks and take the military option for dealing with Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons off the table, a position he believes will further embolden Tehran to build a nuclear bomb.

In a related interview with The Telegraph, Bolton says he believes Arab countries will support an Israeli strike, effectively ending Iran’s nuclear ambitions, while publicly denouncing it.

Their reaction, he tells the British paper, “will be positive privately. I think there’ll be public denunciations, but no action.”

Bolton thinks Israel may consider postponing the attack, however, if Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., emerges as the victor in the presidential race. He says McCain’s stance on Iran “is far more realistic than that of the Bush administration.”

Bolton doubts Iran would respond immediately with a counterstrike of its own, partially because Tehran would fear an American reprisal.

Earlier this month, Israel held a massive air force exercise over Greece that U.S., Israeli and Greek sources later confirmed was a test run for a strike on Iran’s main uranium enrichment plant.

I believe this is the most likely scenario. If Obama truly cares about this country more than his own selfish ambitions, he will give up this foolish quest for the Presidency and step aside for more experienced leadership to guide us through these perilous economic and domestic foreign policy priorities facing us.
PUMA is right on and I truly wish I could be there today, however I am on the opposite side of the country so will be there in spirit.

#564 Firebelle Puma on 06.27.08 at 1:58 pm

Okay, I had to sneak a peek at the TV. Obama is reading from a script written by his speech writers. He can’t speak for himself, because he knows how badly he mangles anything that comes out of his mouth.

Hillary doesn’t need crutches like that. She can speak for herself.

Must give thanks to all my puma friends for taking in the pain and telling of this morning’s event in NH to relaxed at home pumas like me. I have ignored it all up to this point at 12:53pm San Antonio time. It’s nothing but quiet here in the cave with no inclination to turn on the TV or other video sources for news whatsoever… been that way ever since June 3. I know what I know from this site and favorites..

Don’t waste my money on newspapers anymore. I now skim for “real news” on the internet. I let the headlines tell the story. Haven’t bothered much even there. Nothing happens on a daily basis. Mostly it’s redundancy that’s printed. The media has become a business, not a relevant resource for the news.

Anyway, thanks again for the updates. But today’s attempt to woo and entertain the disenfranchised was expected and only indicative of the DNC’s concerns that forces like PUMA are a serious threat not to be ignored. We should all take in a sense of satisfaction in that we are having an impact on the way they organize their strategies.

Now that the “Unity” show is almost over let’s get back to our business as PUMAs ASAP. True democracy is counting on We The People like us. November 4 will be our answer to today’s farce in Unity, NH.

Party Unity My Ass.

I wonder if those women who were talking to her are PUMA’s I noticed them during bo’s talk and they didn’t look pleased

#616 mayor0102 on 06.27.08 at 2:05 pm

Hi folks! Hillary mean’t every word she said. She’s honest and forthright. She’ll do what she can to help the American people out even if it means working “with” Obama. I respect her and honor her courage in moving forward. If one thinks its tough for us, its even tougher for her. She’ll go on and be the model and symbol for all of us, men and women alike. I will not use inappropriate language to talk about Obama because I don’t think that gets one to where one wants to go in changing the Democratic party and more importantly, the messy political rules and operation which does not allow the “best” person to lead this country. Throwing slanderous statements toward others doesn’t work even if the DNC and the Obama campaign did it. “My mama trained me to turn the other cheek and move forward.” That doesn’t mean that I have to allow it to continue to happen, but it does mean that I, and solely I am responsible for my actions, words, and example. I still will NOT vote for Obama and I still will NOT support the Democratic Party until true changes takes place in the treatment of women and the inclusiveness of all people into the Party. This truly was the most disgusting campaign season I have ever experienced and a lot of the actions and mean-spiritedness will not be covered over in the spirit of “moving America” forward. We cannot move “America” forward until the underlying social and political injustices have been removed and banned. The Obama campaign showed me that these injustices are alive and well. The people who surround him are “mean, vicious, and only thinking of themselves.” Power and greed are the worst characteristics in politics and until these things are tempered, no change will actually happen. I’m even more determined to move ahead with the goals that PUMA has established. I’m sitting this election out. I cannot vote for McCain. I cannot vote for Obama. I will write in Hillary no matter the consequences. Its a vote of my conscience and no one can or should interfer with my decision. I cried all during Hillary’s speech and now I’m just plain “angry”, not at her, but at the system and its faults. She was some “lady” today and I’ll never forget that. I wish I had the courage and stamina, the intelligence and wisdom that she put forth. We truly have lost the “greatest” leader of our time. God help us all.

- It’s about a PATRIOT and a CROOK

This is my letter to the Hillay Campaign using the contact link.

Please remove my name from your emailing list and do NOT… let me repeat, DO NOT give over my information to the Obama Campaign.

I have supported Hillary throughout this campaign but cannot, will not vote for a man who stole a primary election by using corrupt, Chicago style politics while at the same time being in cahoots with Howard Dean, the DNC and the party elites.

I am a registered republican who was willing to switch over to get Hillary as our President… and until my dying day, I truly feel that it should be hers.

And Unity NH was the last straw.

I am going back to McCain.

We need each other.

Everybody – I am trying to focus on the picture Murphy posted up top. This is a clown show. This is how they play. They scratch each other’s backs.

We will scratch out the truth. What we are angry about is the rousing music, the sunshine, the smiling faces all clapping and looking happy to see them together–and we’re seeing her, and it’s breaking our hearts.

#563 #589 Yes, I posted earlier. A woman called into Cspan, I think from the Chicago area, and said that Hillary would be the nominee because Patrick Fitzgerald was going to indict Obama in the Rezco matter. Fitzgerald is the U.S. Attorney that prosecuted Scooter Libby but then Bush pardoned him.

I agree. PUMA has evidenced its power by going viral in such a short time. PUMA and other pro-Clinton groups are the reason for today’s events. Obama knows he is sunk without that support. We don’t need grandiose gestures; we can protest with our votes against propaganda and coerced “unity”.

I feel very upset too. I don’t drink, but I’ll have some cake and cookies. A can of Pepsi will help me relax. These guys are nothing, but a bunch of Jerks. They showed him right there waving and smiling and pointing his fingers at the crowd the whole time while she was speaking, and all of a sudden he was “the center of the Universe”. You could only see her clapping while he was blabbering. I hate the media.

#679 snowtiger on 06.27.08 at 2:22 pm

Every time I see Hillary talking about unity or how you must support Obama she looks like she is sucking on a lemon. Additionally, she blinks a lot. Almost non stop. A sign of stress. Am I the only one who noticed this?
Good luck to all those heading into Unity N.H.. I hope the msm gives you some coverage.

#680 shazam4hillary on 06.27.08 at 2:23 pm

First a thank you to flgayguy for sending letters to the Human Rights Campaign Fund. I unsubscribed from their emailings after yesterday’s email asking for money for Obama (I already don’t get their paper mail). It’s good that they are getting text feedback, not all of us are diligent enough to write.

Their only reason given for why we should support BO was a friggin’ quote. The guy is all talk, no action for LGBT people (and in general, as a character flaw, is my impression).

On a different matter, I noticed it was bothering me that my bookmark folder for this type of blog was named “anti-obama.” That’s negative. So I changed it to the more positive and more to the point, “Hillary4president.”

Someone on here a few days ago pointed out that if you focus on a person you disdain, they become your frame of reference and as a result you don’t aim very high. They suggested that we envision Hillary taking the Oath of Office. I have found that to be really a healthful feeling mental exercise.

Judge: I, Hillary Rodham Clinton, do solemnly swear

Hillary: I, Hillary Rodham Clinton, do solemnly swear

Judge: that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States of America

Hillary: that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States of America

Judge: and will, to the best of my ability,

Hillary: and will, to the best of my ability,

Judge: preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Hillary: preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

Here is my comment I just sent to CNN’s online form:

*********

Was listening to Don Lemon covering the Unity NH event….

It may be great media spin… because I know you folks just like to spin and not report the truth… or at least I did see that during the entire primary season. But since Don Lemon asked for opinions, here is mine.

I was for Hillary and will always be for Hillary and will not cannot vote for a man who bought the election through Howard Dean and the DNC.

Now report this one Don Lemon… It’s not the difference between the past and the future with regard to John McCain as Mr O yelled… it’s a matter of voting for a Patriot vs voting for a Chicago crook.

There is no UNITY
In sympathy with PUMA PAC

And I just donated to the John McCain fund.

Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, FL
Fax: (954) 437 4776…she appeared on CNN last night and discussed our movement. She seems in doubt. I have faxed her a letter which might assure her that indeed we are real and huge. She is a superdelegate for Clinton who now supports O. Since she led our rally in Washington to COUNT OUR VOTES, I think she should be taking more of a FIRMER stance. If anyone else is from FL, you might want to fax her.

#692 ladyhawkke on 06.27.08 at 2:46 pm

I just left this at the CNN online regarding the Unity event:
There is no unity within the Democratic Party and the Unity Event was a farce. The DNC broke it’s own rules and stole the nomination from Hillary by awarding Obama uncommitted delegates plus 4 delegates that were Hillary’s. Dean, Pelosi, Reid and all the traitors pushed her out of the race even as she was winning. I am a proud PUMA and will never vote for Obama whom I consider a divider, racist and liar. He played the race card against the Clintons although it was he who used it to bamboozle the AA community to vote against Hillary. The man is unqualified and unfit for office. If Hillary does not take it to the convention, I will vote for John McCain.

#698 ladyhawkke on 06.27.08 at 3:08 pm

#691 Thanks, I live in Florida. I just faxed Wasserman the following letter:
BY FAX: (954) 437-4776
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Dear Rep. Schultz,

I know you were a Clinton supporter who is now supporting Obama. I ask that you not release Sen. Clinton’s delegate to Obama. The race is not over and anything can happen before the Convention. Furthermore, Hillary has the right to have a roll call at the convention. Many candidates before her went to the convention with far less delegates.

As to the Clinton supporters that are for McCain, I am a PUMA, one of many pro-Hillary supporters all over America. I will not ever vote for Obama as I consider him not to be the true nominee. He was “selected” by the DNC Rules Committee who met behind closed doors and allocated delegates to Obama that he did not earn and also gave him 4 of Hillary’s earned delegates. As a member of Congress, you should be alarmed at the hijacking of the democratic process. The party has lost me as I cannot support an unqualified candidate who lies about his associations and also played the race card against the Clintons and then blamed them.

The Unity event today in NH was a farce. The Party is not united and we will not come home until the DNC does the right thing and takes away Obama’s delegates that he did not earn and have a roll call at the convention with Hillary on the first ballot.

Again, I will not support Obama.

Just a couple of suggestions
Murphy, maybe ask for a few seconds on Hannity and Colmes could be gotten.
And the creedo of PUMA is just the “populist” kind of stuff Lou Dobbs would like to get on his show.
Also, if there’s anymore thought of sending token items to the DNC or Pelosi, how about a tea bag, tag.
Our forefathers held the Boston Tea Party for the exact same reason that PUMA was started. Lack of Representation and corruption of the ruling party.
Just a thought.

Hello Everyone …
Before we start donating to Senator McCain’s Campaign, we desperately need to pay down Senator Clinton’s Campaign Debt … to position her, just in case that miracle comes along … so please don’t go off the bridge just because there was a rally today. Senator Clinton is being a team player with professionalism, grace, style, and keeping us in mind always. I’m not saying (so don’t take this message out of context) that I would vote for Senator Obama … I will not, but if you have the $$$’s to donate, please bring down the debt for Senator Clinton’s Campaign to give a good position at the August 25th Convention … should the opening occur. Remember, Senator Edwards also suspended his campaign and could move in in a minute.
GO TO HILLARY CLINTON.COM donate to bring down her debt. Everyone I’ve talked to at her Campaign Office confirms that all $$$’s donated go to her Campaign.
Thanks for listening!

This comment might be a little late but I’m just starting to read through the comments in today’s blogs. I would like to sympathize with what you wrote in your comments redtumble. I too have a close friend that was a Hillary supporter but I find from her comments lately that she has fallin in line too and most likely thinks I’ve gone nuts for resisting. But in my heart I know I’m not nuts. If anything — I think it’s insanity NOT to resist. So again, I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone in your experiences and I’m guessing millions out there are feeling the same but might not have had the advantage of finding the PUMA site yet.

We’re not nuts and we’re not grieving. We are standing up for what we believe… We believe that Obama is not good for the country at this time due his inexperience, arrogance, ethics, etc. We believe that McCain is a better second choice than Obama.

It’s great that all the groups are getting airtime and newsprint space. Everyone is doing a great job. My only recommendation is to improve on the 2 minute summary of who, what, why.

#717 DWPforHILL on 06.28.08 at 4:28 am

In case you haven’t heard -

One of Hillary’s national delegates has asked people to spread the word that her delegates will walk out of the Convention if she doesn’t get a roll call vote.

They want to put pressure on the DNC to ensure that Hillary does get the roll call vote she deserves, hence the request to spread the word about a walk out if she does not.
