I personally am opposed to single-issue or movement voters. I believe that in our lives and in our government, everyone must be willing to make concessions to protect and create prosperity within our future. I personally have reservations on some of John McCain’s positions, but I also realize the historical dangers presented by semi-socialist positions and over-pandering of Barack Obama. An electorate should not be driven by any single issue, let alone those that polarize our nation and split the electorate. Americans need to remember that the greatest leaders of this nation all had one thing in common; they understood the necessity to prioritize the functions of government. The greatest leaders of our nation understood that first function of government was to protect ours and our ally’s sovereignty, followed by promoting economic prosperity, and finally addressing social and cultural reforms. The Obama campaign has made it clear that expect to win this election by breaking down our society into neatly formed groups who only vote based upon single-issues. Remember that in the months ahead.

I sent store ads with Flip FLops on sale. I sent it along with a message that – “Since you do go thru so MANY flip flops they are ON SALE – Stock Up Now!”
It was inexpensive (just postage and some print ltr print outs) and still got my message out.
Great idea on the ground troops to help family and friends join & help us even thought they do not have internet or $’s.

aloha..peter paul is one of those things that’s never really been clear so no way to fight it now but BO will use against Hillary. It’s part of the so called baggage which has been out there for years. There was a party for Bill in CA with several big donors when he was supposedly going to go into business with Peter Paul. Most of the money ended up going to Hillary’s campaign fund for Senate. There was one amount of 700,000 in particular that was the main basis and a fine was paid to FEC. Hillary is named in the court case which is still ongoing. The question is whether she knew about all this fund raising in advance. There’s tons of info on the iternet. Again pro Clinton vs anti Clinton. Anti saying she and Bill are typical politicians getting favoritism etc. I figure if nothing has been done in the courts in over 7 years it can’t be too strong a case against Hillary. Anti’s again saying political strings being pulled. Hillary should be indicted on felony charges. Waste of breath to argue what courts aren’t even sure about. If you want to argue do some reading on google and try to figure it out. I can’t cause it’s kind of likee the stuff with MO. did she or didn’t she.

As soon as Obama declared himself America’s boywonder and said he was the nominee, he immediately stated he was looking forward to Bill’s support, his knowledge and his experience.
Obama knows he needs Bill and people with his understanding of running the country, I wondered though if Obama realized there would begin to be disgruntlings amongst his supporters when the real obama came forth and if he thought having Bill in tow would save his sorry ***.
But I have faith in Bill, and I do not believe he will play Obama’s game, actually I can see Bill with a smirk a mile wide as Obama tries to kiss up to him. And I don’t beleive much of what the media says about endorements and support til I hear it from the horse’s mouth.

To update anyone just checking in: We are sending flowers to welcome Hillary back to the Senate. We would like each state to be represented. When we have all states represented then we can each place our own order on the same day. Sheila7, you should try to find out what they want (senate floor or her office), before they will let the flowers go in. If you need to provide a list of people’s names from each state before the flowers are allowed to enter, then you’ll have to do that.

Good day my Pumas Pals, Murphy great interview. I want everyone to know that I was a delegate for Hillary and I watched her get robbed big time in the so called caucus. I am concerned that if we do not elect one spectific solutions then we may very well give this election to *61. I did my own research if some of us vote Mc Cain, some third party and some stay home then we have no power. Remember power comes in numbers and if we continueon this path then are numbers will be spreaded to thin, am I making any sense? We need to elect on solution staying home will not work, *61 will get the votes and win, that way. Third parties are just spoliers they usually never get enough votes to win just to keep one party from winning, which may work. Now wasn’t there a gentlemen whom was working on our side whom said he had a meeting with Mc Cain and it went well, anyone on how that may work? Just thoughts my friends I say it’s time we start picking on sure way to vote an stick with that right now it seems we are out of pace , remember we are the strongest and can make the impact in the numbers by numbers.

If we did one big bouquet of yellow it would cost less and the balance of the $ could go toward paying down her debt. The card message could reflect this and send a duo message….I did email you this but lately my email was acting up….could be big paws!:)

Still, the former president is one of the most popular figures in public life and he drew large, enthusiastic crowds when campaigning for his wife.
Democratic consultant Mark Kornblau said the benefits of having Bill Clinton’s help outweigh the negatives for Obama. He said Clinton could travel to economically struggling states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan and talk about the prosperity under his presidency and promote Obama’s vision.

#147 Democratnomore, I have also dropped out of the Democratic Coup, and I agree with you. I have been a Democrat for 35 years. While I like the freedom floating among the PUMAs, that we should vote our conscience, and this in the spirit of DEMOCRACY I would ultimately support. I would on the other hand say; “If you are going to make a statement. Make it in a way that gets NOTICED; namely vote for Sen. McCain.” On this election year, I am forced to consider other candidates.
If McCain was not one that would be willing to work with the LEFT I would have a hard time considering him. Over the years, I have come to like him, because he does work in the middle. And mind you, I have been a loyal Democrat all this years. And I am not a Republican troll.
McCain is also a war hero, who suffered at the hands of the enemy. I have not had a quarter of the suffering that he endured. For him and the many war heroes, I am willing to vote for Sen. I would just like to give my two cents on us all choosing one strategy for voting in the fall election:
There are many opinions represented here. We have had guests drop in and read the posts and immediately get the impression that we are a “Hillary voters for McCain” group. I for one have no intention of voting for McCain. I am an independent left-leaning voter, as I have said here from the beginning. McCain is a part of the problem, not a part of the solution, IMO — BUT that is just my opinion.
I respect others who want to vote Republican as their protest against Obama. Or those who will stay home. Or those who will write in someone’s name. If you are a progressive or left-leaning Hillary supporter, don’t think you have to vote Republican. There are other options. You can support a third party candidate whose positions you are comfortable with, thereby taking votes away from the Democrats. I have voted “independent” for a very long time. Eventually they will hear us! Especially if we take votes away from Obama!
So, this is just my two cents in support of a continued *individual* strategy and approach to *voting* only!Coordinated *PUMA actions* are a different thing altogether, however, and if we can all agree on coordinated activities, then that will be very powerful, whether we individually vote for McCain, Greens, Working Families Party, or whoever.

Town officials say the event will be held at Unity Elementary School. The time has not yet been set. Details are still being worked out, but the rally will be open to the public. Obama campaign staffers are already setting things up at the school.

By saying we all need to take a stand and back McCain we are doing exactly what the DNC is doing. I personally will vote McCain. One of my family members will vote Independent because she cannot back BO or McCain. That is the purpose of having the freedom to vote. Yes, it would be nice to make a united standfor a candidate, but we ARE making a united stand by voicing our individual freedom to vote. I can understand how many of us were appauled at the BHO supporters as well as media assaults, but I still don’t think that is a viable logical reason to dispute the outcome of the Primaries and Caucus.
First because it should have been up to the Hillary campaign to get out the message of sexism and stop it. So to do it after the fact, is rather mute at this point.

Writing to Dean and Pelosi may be great way for us to vent, but they are not going to listen to us. Someone of authority will have to put the pressure on them because they now have the backing of their dear leader BHO.
You have to hit them where it hurts the most—in their pockets. And that is through media ADVERTISERS. And so, my suggestion is to write letters of boycott to all the advertizers who run ads on cable networks supporting BHO.
IOW, you would have to use the same tactics as the NAACP to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Last I heard, FoxNews has gotten about 150 thousand new subscribers or listeners and CNN ratings are dropping.—see!

Obama wants to use her for his gain, and if he sees it comes at a cost to him, we know how fast he will change his mind on the “unity” thing and throw joint appearances under the bus with his other principled positions (and let our girl off the hook!).

If the election was held today, McCain would win easily, regardless of what the MSM says/predicts, so just hold out for a few more months, stay strong within the group and we will prevail. Hillary will come back in 4yrs time, well actually 3, one year to campaign right! And McCain says he only stays for one term.
Maybe it would be better to hold off, so that we can get the word out (eg press release/media alert) to give a heads up. Even if it doesn’t get picked up, could be worth a try.

I have proudly joined PUMA. As an American,it is my obligation to join these growing group of people to fight the unfair electoral process carried out by the Democratic Party. The American people has been blinded by a candidate who has promised many of the things we need to hear, and in our desperation, some have fallen for him. But time is wise, and it has proved that Obama is nothing but another politician, but what has made him different from the worst ones is that he has used his race to gain influence and votes. He has used the long eight years of mistakes made by the current administration to promise change, a change that will never come,or will come in the way that the people will regret it.
I was born in Cuba, and I know that in 1958, Fidel Castro divided Cuba into rich and poor people, and by dividing the people, he won and established a government that it is not necessary to describe. Obama has used the same tactics, but this time, he has divided the people into black and whites, and has used this racial division to his own benefit, not the country’s.
It is time that people around the world and within the United States open the eyes, minds and hearts and see Obama for what he is, someone who will bring nothing positive to this great country.
I hope someone will be listening. I don’t know where that someone is now, but for now, I just know that some people are feeling that the pomised change is nothing but a lie.

As of now there are 126 links for groups set up at just say no. There is also 1 more that is not set up as a link. Exactly. I agree with you 100% and this is what I was trying to get in my comment about something being rotten in politico land.
How did Party affiliation become so oppressive and so divisive? Why is it political suicide to support a person from another Party? Why does it matter who you support if you agree with them on an issue? No one has to or will align with someone else 100% of the time.
So why are so many Dems supporting BO? If $$ is that important then we are in serious trouble. If it isn’t $$ then what is it that makes these people do something against their own free will? This is what scares me about this drama turned nightmare.

I changed lanes and passed the limo with all of the Hillary Bumper stickers on my Honda Van and I wavied my Hillary sign the Limo slowed down as they passed me at the Light. .. regarding Pelosi’s admitting to the sexism of this primary season. Yes, there were a lot of sexist comments but, I do not think the slurs were what caused Hillary to not get the nod (yet).. That had more to do with selection of a candidate that the DNC thought could win over McCain. I really have NO idea where the DNC gets their information from but, since mid-primary season, Hillary was kicking McCain’s arse in the polls and Obama was being whooped by Mccain. Now, it (the dismissal of Hilary) may have a LOT to do with SEXISM. but, the reasoning behind why the super-d’s and some pledge-delegates went against the people of their states and localities to give their votes to Obama.. is a bit more nefarious than that. And, I for one, would like to know the real truth here.
At this point, as Obama has flipped and lied and been found out (Hello, Larry Sinclair), I want to see the Dems change their decision and grant Hillary the nomination.

As far as the media’s big hype around Bill Clinton’s “endorsement” of BO, what I saw on aol.com was a huge photo of Obama with arm around Bill, but when you read the article, it’s obviously an OLD photo, and here’s the actual, very weak, statement of “support” through a spokesman! Hardly the ringing endorsement the spin from the Obama camp would make it be.

Hi there,
In response to voting for McCain…the reason I can vote for him now is because mostly it is a protest vote and secondly, he seems to be an honorable man… a man of his word. He is not nearly as close to the Bush policies as Obama has been touting. The more I have watched Obama, his inexperience, lack of concern for the revote in MI and FL and general arrogrance have grown as big factors as to why I could NOT vote for him. Plus McCain is coming out with a better energy plan now. Am not worried about Roe vs Wade being overturned as it hasn’t in 26 years. McCain is more of a centrist and though may differ in some of the policies, he is more in line with Hillary’s centrist ideology. Obama is way off to the radical left and from what I have seen has the capacity to manipulate the masses with his rhetoric but not a lot of substance there. He is now being exposed for all his flip flops..including his stance on public financing, NAFTA, illegal immigration,the cuban embargo, and special union interests to name a few. There have been countless reports of voter fraud in the early primaries out west where his campaign even bussed people in from other states to vote. I feel strongly that our core democratic principles have been compromised. From the beginning I was turned off when he was talking about “CHANGE” and depicting Hillary as the status quo candidate….yet he was the one who was lining up all the status quo endorsements…like Kennedy, Dodd, Richardson etc. He ran unopposed by forcing his early opponents in Chicago off the ticket. For all the recent attempts at a “makeover”…he really is just an old style Chicago politician who shrewdly manipluated the Internet media market to amass millions from the masses, along with plenty of bundlers ( which the media has rarely touched on) to buy his way to the “presumed” nominee status.
So do you think I have a passionate opinion about this!!!!

I come from a family where it’s totally forbiden. We are always taught that you can’t wish something bad to somebody or it could happen to you. GOD FORBID! I am getting really worried. When Hillary was up in polls in PA I was really afraid of what would happen to Mayor Nutter. He said several times that he was getting many threatening phone calls from HBO people. Whether these are true feelings or propaganda it priases Hillary with great admiration; just wished her own party could have been in her corner.

Have been sick in bed all day so haven’t been able to keep up with you; however, I did just watch the news and I’m very upset abou Bill Clinton going out and campaigning for the unmentionable. We are doing everything we can to defeat him and yet, Hillary and Bill Clinton are going out to campaign for him. I am having a hard time with this. No one is forcing them to do anything and I still don’t know why she didn’t take it to the convention. Kennedy went with less delegates. #61 would fall flat on his face if the Clintons didn’t do this. This party unity is ridiculous as we are not united and once Bill Clinton starts campaigning, he will no doubt convince people to vote for the empty suit. Is this bothering anyone other than me? I think you have some good points here.

I find it curious that politicians can never change their minds. They make decisions based on current information and heaven help them if they ever change their minds, even if new information comes to light. With the Clinton’s doing the talking, maybe the kool aide will thin out. Nothing is impossible with this.

I know how you feel. It isn’t easy to imagine seeing either of them on a stage with #61. I do think there is more here than we can see. I think the fact that Pres. Clinton has waited as long as he did is really indicative of his true feelings. I do think they are doing what they believe they have to do at this time to survive politically. I once worked for a Government Minister here in Canada, and one thing that did have have an effect was mail set by the multitude. Phone calls weren’t effective, they were invisible, but mail, flip flops, flowers are all visible and they pile up.
Don’t lose faith, because I have seen decisions changed with political parties and politicians. Change doesn’t happen overnight. it takes many many weeks of effort. But it does happen, if we push hard enough which everyone here is doing.
If the Dems are going to run to the far left and the Pubs insist on staying far right, we need a centerist party.

Additionally, I received an unrequested “automatic resubscription” to Oprah magazine today in the mail that said “Lucky for me, I don’t have to do anything to continue my subscription, just pay the bill”. Well,I got out my favorite “sharpie” and wrote across the bill
“What I NO for sure” – women who read this magazine will get that reference as it is the title of the back page of every one of her columns each month. The real title is “What I Know for Sure”- and how arrogant is that?
I wrote that what I NO for sure, is cancel my subscription. Oprah can recommend books for me to read, but not who to vote for. Plus, how many more months and years is she going to have her picture on the cover? Talk about narcissism! Next month she’ll probably break her rule as being the cover girl and finally have someone else on the cover…guess who? BO! What I NO for sure – NO more Oprah. Get over yourself!

Remember during the Bill O’Reilly interview with Hill?O’Reilly said that she would need the help from “Moses” in order to get to Universal Health Care. She fired back that she would welcome it and that in “those stones” it must be that everyone was covered and that this was a core Democratic Party issue.
If they went Independent, the Red Sea and the Blue Sea would part again. It is going to take something on that magnitude for the Democratic party of today to realize what they have done to two of their most faithful and powerful members.

Murphy, I remember reading some stats about the caucuses and delegate allottments. i.e. BO got more delegates from Idaho with 13,000 extra votes than Hillary got from PA with over 200,000 extra votes.

Unity is right off of I91 which makes it a reasonable trip from Springfield MA, Boston Ma, Hartford CT, Albany NY, and of course parts of NH and VT. You can map quest it and simply put in Unity Elementary School in place of “business” Unity is a town of only 1,700 so I doubt that there will be a crowd of 10,000. A couple hundred Puma’s would make the news and the place will be crawling with national media because this the first appearance of Hillary and Obama together. If only handful of us show up it will be dismissed, no doubt, as those disgruntled people, but if a few hundred show up……….

murphy, i once had to get out in front of an issue in my community, something i was unaccustomed to doing in such a grand way, but it had to be done. i was a nervous wreck when it came to the media, but when all was said and done, i was really glad i spoke out, spoke up, got people together to fight a bad decision that needed to be reversed….

A few days ago I posted about a new organization called The Denver Group, but no one responded. Has anyone else heard anything about this group? I really support their important goals which are:
An open convention
Senator Clinton’s name on the ballot
Speeches allowed by supporters of Senator Clinton on
behalf of her candidacy.
A roll call vote.
No coronation
One of the two co-founders is Heidi Li Feldman, a law professor at Georgetown Law who describes herself as a pro bono legal consultant for the Clinton Campaign. She also has a blog called Heidi Li’s Potpourri and is ACTIVELY trying to get Clinton’s debt paid off. She’s got a debt meter going with links to the Clinton web site. The Denver Group is getting their paperwork completed, but they intend to collect money to run a media campaign to put pressure on the Democratic party leadership to make sure Clinton gets her shot at becoming the nominee at the convention. I love all our PUMA actions, but I truly believe we MUST do everything we can to make sure delegates have the option of voting for Hillary Clinton at the convention. As the cool aide leaves their system, more and more Democrats (and hopefully delegates) are starting to have doubts about Obama, the man; and about Obama as a someone who can actually win the general election. The problem is that right now, he’s seen as the only Democratic alternative. We need to make sure delegates have the opportunity to choose Clinton at the convention. The harder the Obama campaign and the Democratic party leadership try for ‘party unity’ translate – no roll call, the surer I become that she could still obtain the nomination. There has been so much negative press about Obama lately, and there’s sure to be more as he continues to make mistakes. Maybe I’m just be a hopeless optimist, but there are so many millions of us that want the opportunity to vote for Clinton in November. Not just 18 million (probably more by now) Democrats, but many Republicans who would also prefer Clinton to McCain. We just need to be smarter and more strategic than the opposition and beat them at their own game in Denver. I’ll continue to monitor The Denver Group and report back when they become active.

Today I had a business conference. I went to lunch with another man that I met earlier during the sign in. As we continued to talk, politics came up and we both began to express our issues. He has just started a family and was raised Democrat, always voted the party line, and voted for Barack in the primary. When he told me this, his face turned red to purple. He told me that he knew that voting was important, but didn’t realize it until now. You could see the pain in his face. He went on to say that for the first time he would NOT be able to vote Democrat. I think it is shameful how the press now loves Hillary when she is appearing for Obama. Now she is credible and wonderful in every way. Where was that sentiment a few weeks or months ago?
In reality, though, this isn’t just about Hillary. It is more about the system that produced this farce of an election. The insider’s club has always been there. The deal making has always been there. The manipulation, the graft, the under the table shuck and jive, has always been there. We just didn’t see it before. It took this election and Hillary’s gutsy campaign to force us all to see it.
Now what? PUMA lives! This is not a fight we can afford to lose, not as Democrats or as Americans. We must clean up our political system or cease to exist as a democracy. Just today we see the results of business as usual, with the FISA legislation being manipulated and debated as if it were something trivial. This has to stop.
We, as Americans, are responsible for this mess. We allowed the primaries to be a farce for a long time, never seeing, or wanting to see the significance of the flaws in the system. This time we have no choice but to deal with this and fix it.
The first thing we need to do after we successfully challenge this nomination, is to push for a one day national primary, winner of the popular vote take all. Then, once we establish a truely democratic primary, we need to push for a change in the electoral system so that the nation goes on a one person one vote system.
If we don’t succeed, our nation is at serious risk. I am not really sure we can even call ourselves a democracy now. We must do whatever we can to change the broken system.

He didnt want women not to get abortions should the late term baby survive. That it may scare women not to have abortions. The more I step back and look at the bigger picture, the more important I think it is to pay off that debt.
In the end money talks, and so far Hillary’s base is not covering it for her. That speak volumes to these people.

McCain will win by a landslide. The polls and the media are trying to influence people’s thoughts. It’s all propaganda, but they can’t make people vote for him. As time goes on, he looks more and more like the inept politician that he is. The “Possum Seal” did him more damage than you know just yet. It’s all over the blogosphere, yet the media is trying to play it down.

Nope. The real poll will begin surfacing after August. Hypothetical now. My polling guide, and don’t laugh are visuals, meaning bumper stickers are cars in your area, yard signs, what people are saying in conversation. Those are the only dependable ones at this point. That is my opinion, but it is a “good gauge.”

I called the FEC bo can not pay her debts unless he gets his supporters to do it. All Hillary’s money goes to Hillary. All his goes to him. They cannot loan or combine. They are covered by the same limits on contributions as everybody else. At the end of the nomination process any primary money left from a non nominated candidate is given to charity. Any GE money is to be returned to those who gave it. Hillary put a bunch of money in her GE fund. BO has spent most of his on primary. Now he needs Hillary’s donors to build up GE fund cause it’s not there. As I stated before, Hillary is strong but we’ve seen other members of congress are not. She needs to stay a dem to get her bills through because other dems will cave to pressure. There are tons of rumors as to what bill and hillary are extracting from bo in exchange for support. we will have to see. it’s politics. and both have admitted they never have seen politics played out like this before. i’m waiting. they have something in mind.

I know she suspended her campaign, but I was not going to send money there after “Support Barack Obama by making a donation” was on the home page. I know there are avid supporters that have “pay down the debt”, etc. Kudos! But for me, if Hillary said, “I need your help…” I would rip the wallet open.

If we can accomplish that for her…..we can still do this. Is there any tv channel giving favorable polls? I voted every week for Hillary on AOL and she always lead by 6% to 8%. Only one week was BO ahead. Now the only poll I see that shows McCain is ahead is AOL, and I think maybe that is a jinx.
Nanyc Pelosi is so smug and self centered she makes me sick! Greta is trying her best to let Pelosi know that we will NOT vote for Obama, but Pelosi is Obama all the way. I donated $50 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign this week to help pay down her debt. I hope she does not accept money from Obama. He is corrupt. In fact, there is no telling where his money is originating. In fact, in the YouTube video showing Munmar Khadaffi discuss Obama’s candidacy, he indicates that Obama may be raising money in the Middle East. Is that legal? Is there a Special Prosecutor out there? This should be investigated.
The video also shows that Khadaffi has concerns about Obama flip-flopping on Israel. So, I guess that makes Obama a world-renown flip-flopper.

Neither Conventions or Primaries are part of our Constitution. That’s why every single lawsuit against the DNC regarding Florida and Michigan was not even heard or the Federal Courts said the DNC can make up its own rules and govern itself. It is not in their jurisdiction (sp).

There is negative press almost everyday now about O, which does lift my spirits. Yesterday a coworker (strong O supporter) tried to convince me that Hillary was more conservative than McCain! That means, that PUMA would have to show that the DNC broke its own rules.
For example, the “automatic” reduction to penalize a state for moving up its date was set at 50% but Howard Dean in all his wisdom made it 100% because there was a clause in the Rules that overrode the automatic ruling.
Kind of like when we sign agreements like a credit card agreement and there is a clause that says, we reserve the right to change our policy at any time and without notice, etc.
