Just donated. Yes on 1st ad, no on 2nd. Most people don’t realize just how much money Obama is getting from special interests groups because he is such a liar.
How about the pharmaceutical companies, they donated more to Obama during the primary than to any other candidate. Wonder what kind of “change” they anticipate getting. Most people won’t “get” 2nd ad . . . they’ll just write it off as negative propaganda. Here’s an idea . . . do you realize that what Obama is saying is almost a paraphrase to what Hitler said. “One people, one country, one leader”. He also promised change. I’ll bet the ad people could do something with that one . . . using his own words.

P.S. I REALLY like the first ad. I think the second ad is a bit “much.” By that I mean that I think it could turn a lot of people off, and doesn’t really focus on a message we want to send. It’s a really good depiction of how we all see Obamabots, but if we are trying to open their eyes we can’t insult them the way they insulted us throughout the primaries. My 2 cents.
I’d like to see an ad showing Hillary Clinton, not OB! Perhaps an excerpt from her “suspension” speech. Her concerns, 18,000,000 cracks in the ceiling, etc.

They vote too The first ad is great. I read all of that on the Federal Elections Commission sight months ago. The second ad is too much over the top for me for reasons given. Murphy, I want to donate the full amount, but not for the seond ad.

I like the first clip, the 2nd one I get only because I know a

I think you’re right about us needing to focus on the unions, although there’s a good chance that, given a choice between *61 and McCain, they will swing more towards McCain.

New York Times article. Hmmmmm – I can’t help but feel that O’s small givers operation is just as corrupt as the large donor system. Unfortunately, small donors don’t get listed unless it’s cummulative. Any one out there more versed in checking out the FEC? There’s more to this whole money giving thing than meets the eye.

Where is PA do you live? I’m in NE PA and my protest vote is going to John McCain in Nov if Hillary is not the Democratic nominee for President after Denver.
My two cents- for what it’s worth- most of America will not get the second ad (remember, these are people who think he voted against the war!! They get their info from TV) I think the first one will grab them and it’s shorter and as everyone knows, we live in this blackberry-ritalin-fast-paced world, you need short and quick.

It might be good for us to think broadly and identify whom we are and should be targeting, and what will most effectively reach each of those voters.

2) Also on the issue of plain old trust: how he says he is not influenced by special interests, etc etc etc. A simple declaration of the facts is in order: how much he’s gotten from various interests and people. Shows what a liar he is on that. that not only does he accept it, he attacks others for it while saying he doesn’t. Very deceptive.
3) he always brought up the “kitchen sink” and how hillary would do anything to win. But that’s the game he is playing. He says what we want and need to hear, and we can see from his past that he rewards those who support him and punishes those who don’t. like a good old politician.
Remember the speech noname gave about ‘words’ (you know the one Deval Patrick gave?) The Just Words one? It’s bad enough he stole or reused it (both guys are brought to us by Axelrod after all) but with his latest flipflop… oh can we ever have fun. He IS just words. Use the same formula… noname quotes followed by “just words”
So his own speech can come back and bite him in the donkey.

A major DUH hit me:
We should also look into targeting academia – college papers if we can. That would also be a good place to organize PR events maybe? Given how much BO leans on this demographic, and how little many of them know about him…. It would IMHO be a worthwhile target. Even if it doesn’t convince any voters, it could get some good news coverage (ie free publicity LOL)
I’m thinking out loud a lot lately so bear with me. Here are some of the thoughts running through my head as far as spreading the word, in no particular order
-target smaller/more regional papers, including weeklies and special interest pubs (we’re working on this)
-send letters to the editor anywhere we can: FREE!
-target colleges kids. Hit BO where it hurts. Time to go for the belly of the beast

Even if not, it could get some good PR/news coverage
Ads/letters to campus papers, and those in college towns
Possibly even organize PR events there
-target Chicago: Home Base for Noname and now the D(spit)NC
-target Denver – so they know we’re coming!
-Creative campaigns- like the kool-aid packets, pumas.
Draws attention in a positive way – One more contrast to BO’s nasty minions
One of the most successful recent campaigns (don’t get me started LOL) was the “nuts” one to bring back the show Jericho. They started ordering peanuts online and sending them to the network en masse. It made the news and the show did get to come back for a second season albeit a short one.
-Don’t let the campaign financing go! Keep this one in the news. And point out as much as we can that McCain introduced reform legislation. It’s a great example of words v actions.

I think the first ad is great, but the second one would be hard for people to understand. Maybe you should edit it to seem just like the similar ad Obama ran last year and have the woman with the shirt have a Hillary logo or something that connotes democracy. She shouldn’t throw a hammer at a picture of Obama, that would seem threatening, but there could be someone on the screen telling everyone to obey in a cold manner. If we show it at least once like he did (or Apple computer did originally), then it could get enough attention to have an impact. And we should remind people at the end that there is still time to put Hillary in as the nominee at the convention and to call superdelegates (we should mention websites that list superdelegates).

We Have Moved, In More Ways Than One

As many of you already know, I was an ardent Hillary supporter, angry, just as the rest of you are, about her loss. However, as someone who trusts her judgment, when she asked me to support Barack Obama, I had some thinking to do.
After much thought and discussion and research, I’ve decided to support Barack Obama, AS HILLARY ASKED US TO DO! If you don’t want to support her decision, that’s up to you, but I love her enough to do as she asks.
I’m sure she doesn’t want all this controversy and embattlement. I’m also sure that sites like PUMAPAC are just out to make a fast buck off of a bad situation. The fact that many of the so called PUMA sites refused to link to my blog, because I was willing to listen to both sides, shows just how immature and childish THEY are. Adults are willing to listen and decide. Children pick a side, and stay there, because they are…well…children.
I’ve read so many misleading and downright fabricated blog posts from you people, that I am ashamed I ever associated myself with you. Every time I try to comment to point out the truth, my comments are not approved. You only want people to hear YOUR side, the very thing you accuse the Obama camp of doing. It’s just shameful that you would twist a knife in Hillary’s back like this.
I’ve been abused by the PUMAS ever since I made the decision to listen and make my own decision. To my way of thinking, these women and men are weak minded individuals who just follow a crowd, and do not have the ability to make a decision for themselves. Talk about a cult! You blast the Obama supporters for the very same thing you are doing, and you behave in the very same ways you accuse them of acting.
By posting these abusive comments, and promoting divisiveness, you’re lowering yourself to a level where I do not wish to follow. You are more like a cult than Obama’s side ever was. You are the extremists and terrorists of the other side. You are fear mongers, haters, and maybe even racists. In any event, you are not people I would associate in real life, and not people I want to associate with on the internet.
So say what you want. I’m letting you rant and rave as much as you want. All comments to this blog are unmoderated, so that everyone can see just how immature and idiotic you are. Go to town. I won’t be back here to read them, or to respond. And we won’t be accepting your comment on the other blog either, so don’t even bother to come there.

Well, this isn’t abusive, but I agree with her. It’s our inalienable right to vote for and support whomever we choose. I’ve read the PUMA sites, and they are just what they say they’re fighting against…misleading, bigoted, and hateful, without a whole lot of common sense postings at all.

Please change the name of your wordpress site, because you are counter to just about everything that we, collectively, are trying to do as PUMAs. You obviously are a Kool Aid drinker and you would gain more by just naming your site something else – like I WANT BARRACK!!!!
I will never vote for nObama because he does not share my values or religious tenor, he is dishonest, he has a razor thin resume and little experience, and he is documented as being on BOTH sides of just about every issue:
removing troops from Iraq, campaign spending, etc. The only policies he has are the ones he xeroxed form Hillary. For all these reasons and more, I am asking you if nObama is for change, then WHAT change? Seems like the same ol same old to me, except he is slicker than slick. Americans seem to continue to be sheeple.
If part of the goal is to reach those who are not online, that second ad might be more of a turn off. It really is creepy and dark. People need facts, the first video can cover more ground.

I like video #1, its direct and too the point. I think simple is good, a lot of people have no idea what is going on past the sound bites.
Food for thought though. Since add #2 was used early in the primary against Hillary it might get some talk in the MSM. Maybe? Maybe not?

While many of us seem to agree that the second ad might not be ideal I do think there is some merit to it, and it could be reworked. I think the image of obama being filled with words is a good one to make– my only concern is that the way it’s done in black and white with him being darkened by the letters… it can be seen as making him sinister but I can easily see it being labelled racist. I just see it coming. best to find a way to avoid any possibility of that as it could really turn things sour and give HIM reason for another national address. Ugh. Last thing we want.

Another thought popped in my head: by targeting small local newspapers, we’d be putting $ into the kinds of places that need it most. Giving money back to America, not just to media giants. Something about that just feels… right.
Please consider the first ad only. I think the second ad will turn away a lot of viewers we are trying to win over and have a back lash effect of actually glorifying Obama’s persona and cause. I think the first ad is extremely well done and to the point.

I am but a poor college student…but I’ll see how much money I can scrape up within in the next month, I would love to see PUMA ads on TV.
I know the first two are just examples, but I don’t think we should go in that direction with ads. The first video just looks like a plain ol’ general election ad, and the second video is just too weird for people to get.
I think we should openly reach out to former Hillary supporters. Show examples of the media’s sexism, show how the DNC treated the Clintons, etc.
One great clip to look up and use in a commercial is from Hardball with Chris Matthews (A Clinton hater, of course). The day after New Hampshire, one of Obama’s surrogates was on the show, saying that racism had something to do with how the state voted.
WOW I would love to see these ads hit the TV screen. They are as shocking as Obama. He gives me the creeps. He is the one that will destroy us all if we give hin the chance . I will donate $100 and more just to see him lose in November.

I think that PUMA site is an Obama blogger usurping our name PUMA in order to trap and try to get Hillary supporters over to the dark side. Its well documented that Obama’s bloggers are stealing online identities of Hillary supporters, such as riverdaughter, Uppity Woman, etc. and then blogging under their names that they have seen the light. Is PUMA by anychance copyrighted? If so, you may have legal recourse. Either way, this is a deliberate attempt to besmirch the PUMA name and confuse the public. We really do need to do something about this.

I believe it’s a tactic, just my opinion, mind you. Hillary is between a rock and a hard place right now, and I believe she’s saying what she needs to say. I also believe OB & the DNC are trying to thwart our momentum and divert our direction and purpose by making us feel sorry for Hillary. The more we contribute to her (OB), the less we can do here.

I just wanted to let you all know that I love the ads. I really wish that we could air this on my local television station. We cover quite a bit of WV, eastern KY, and South Eastern OH. Hillary’s support her was at least 75% or higher in our coverage area. My mom has a dr appt at our local VA hospital and the nurses are as mad as we are. I have given mom this site and I’m telling her to have them to organize with us. We have had several disgruntled voters writing in to the Letter to the Editor section of our local newspaper (The Herald-Dispatch). If we could get someting in print or aired on television, I believe that we will have a huge impact on the people. My family is strapped for money right now, that I simply cannot afford to contribute at this time. The bills, gas prices and food prices have put us in such a bad way right now. I am currently unemployed right now and can’t seem to find a job. I also have an autistic twin brother that has a seizure disorder and it is really hard to find a job close to home. I have been sending letters and emails to just about everyone. I do do whatever necessary to help Murphy with the West Virginia page. I can be contacted at mpayton23@yahoo.com. Hillary has to do what she has to in order to pay her debt and avoid the blame for Obama’s crash and burn in November.

I think this is a great PAC and I am pleased with the work that has been done by so many generous people on this site. Bravo! I would like to make a comment, however, that goes to our credibility and our image as we move forward. I know it has been said before, but I would like to restate my opinion. I feel very strongly that communicating hate messages, suspiciousness, and accusations towards others who may not believe exactly as we do is harmful to our collective cause. I don’t think that we garner respect or gain allies by calling them names. In my opinion, we need to remain dignified, articulate and focused otherwise I am afraid we will not be able to communicate the seriousness of our message and gain the respect for which we strive. I am not speaking for all, just for myself, however, I think I would have to distance myself from a group that becomes dominated by the attitude I have described. With that said, I also need to say that so many here have stepped up to the plate and been so very generous with their time, ideas, and enthusiasm. I don’t want to see that self-destruct. Thank you all for your hard work!

Nothing in particular. Just every now and then I know we all get frustrated and perhaps want to lash out–I have done it too! Every now and then as I am looking around the internet I see comments and it makes me think that I don’ t want this group to become what we say we don’t like in other camps. Just a cautionary note so that the people we want to reach don’t turn us off. And, let me say again, that I agree this is a great group!
Suggestions for Action Items:
Send a cut out doll empty suit with tabs attached to the DNC with “One of 18 million that will not vote for an empty suit. PUMA”
Send a picture of a Hawaiian Shirt to the DNC to go along with the flip-flops of the selected one

Unfortunately, the DNC/Dean/RBC/Pelosi/Reid/Brazile had their strategy formulated long ago and are too stupid to see the light of day. We need Latinos here, as well as other groups.

I personally vote for person not party (if I did vote party there is absolutley no way I could vote Obama). I unsubscribed to Emily’s list at that point.

Looks like to me that there may be two sub-groups here: a pacafist group, and an non-pacafist group if those are the right words- probably better words to be used but they elude me at the moment. After all, this is a 527 group, right? And if there are two sub groups, we are working in direct opposition to each other, and that is not a good thing.
Maybe Murphy could kind of give us a break down of how many are in each category, so we can make informed decisions. I wish we had done this before, actually.

Like others, I don’t like the second ad at all. I find the gradual blackening of the white figure to have racist overtones. Also I don’t care for its castration (?). There is a good idea in there but this ad would damage our cause in a big way.
The first ad isn’t bad, but in our society, numbers need to be a lot bigger to overwhelm. (Remember the collective shrug when the Clintons revealed their $109 million income?) Also, the closing image is not very effective because the type in the boxes is too small to read. Maybe use big dollar signs instead?

I don’t think shorttermer means you have to be hateful but you do perhaps have to be forceful. the same way that powerful women are accused of being b@#%*^s is because you usually have to be very assertive to get what you want. you can’t be a wallflower. do you understand what i mean? and also one of my favorite phrases is “it is what it is” and i believe in calling it like i see it which might not always be the most flattering depiction of someone but nonetheless it is what it is.

I like the ads but I think we need to make sure that we don’t duplicate the things that the Republicans will be covering in their ads. We need to target the Hillary Clinton supporters that haven’t seen the “real” Obama and think that it’s ok to vote for him.
We need to have an ad that exposes Obama and his campaign’s sexist behavior towards Hillary. Show the sexist comments from the media and no defense from the Dems.
Another ad could show how the Democratic leaders and the DNC manipulated the primary. Maybe showing Pelosi saying “will of the people” then changing it to more delegates and all the Dems pressuring Hillary to quit prematurely.
Unfortunately I contributed far more then I could really spare to Senator Clintons campign. As soon as I replenish the bank roll however I WILL donate here. This man and his army of obamazoid thugs MUST be stopped!!!!!

I like the idea to get the Pumas organized by state. Question, did this used to be party unity my ass?, or is that a separate group? Sometimes I have a hard time remembering what this Puma actually says?

#148 gina – We had a youtube video up recently, was it Flineo? He had O and Deval Patrick cut side-by-side and showed how O was using exactly the same words. There is so much material documenting how unfit O is to be our prez it wouldn’t even fit into one ad.
It would be great if PUMApac could join forces with other “Just Say No Deal” groups for the fund raising efforts and in creating the ads, etc. That would open up more possibilities for rasing big money and connecting with the right people for making big projects happen.
As far as the video content… probably what’s more effective for TV ads is elucidating specific issues and those ‘negatives’ about BO that can make people concerned and hesitant about voting for him. The videos posted yesterday also were good… and that one called “Strange Bedfellows” from the other day too. They are great “models” for TV ad productions.
Airing them in the critical swing states, where (at least at this time) the race appears to be so close is the best use of the money!

I just wanted to let you know that the Sierra Club endorsed BO today. You can read more about their endorsement by going to http://www.sierraclub.org. I have been a member of this organization for years. I received an e-mail from its director, Carl Pope, asking Sierra Club members to pledge their time to help elect BO. I will never volunteer my time to help the supposed Democratic presidential candidate and I plan on telling both the national Sierra Club office and the local one (if they ever directly ask for our services to help BO) what I think of their endorsement. I tried calling the national office to leave a message but I haven’t been able to get through.
Just wanted to let you know what was going on. They plan on using existing organization to help their cause.

Although sometimes I fall short of my own ideals, I use the following to guide me …
One, I think about how I have felt as a Hillary supporter visiting other blogs where Obama supporters speak out. Some are respectful enough that I can read what they have written and consider their point of view. Many are disrespectful enough that I can’t even stomach reading their posts. I don’t want to be like the latter.
Two, I think about what I would say if I were talking face-to-face with a friend who supports Obama, as was the case last night. I care far more about my friends than I do about Obama, Hillary, or this election. So when I post on the blogs, I try to imagine expressing my point of view without hurting the feelings of my friends who support a different candidate.
Do I slip sometimes on the blogs? Sure. Am I sometimes less objective than I should be? Yep. But when I’m really on my game, this is what guides me.
I hope this helps.

My 2 cents worth about the ads. Obama’s ads always seemed to work well when he came back at Hillary for another AD. I also think we have to use his words against him. His supporters do not react well to any kind of smearing, so staying focused on his flip flops is probably going to work the best. Just my thoughts.

Hey everyone. Just got on. Been googling like crazy. We have our Spanish flyer but our conversations are in English. I’ve been trying to find any blog site in Spanish for anybody who happens to drop into our site. The only thing I can find so far? “He” has his site translated into Spanish. So how can we reach out to these people? Most are very loyal supporters of Hillary and worked hard for her. Anybody know any sites we could maybe put a link up to? I think it effectively says that Obama is not a man of his word. It may also back him into a corner where he has to debate John McCain … and where he can flaunt his own weaknesses better than anyone else can.

Actually the Riverdaughter article demonstrates exactly what I am referring to and what we need to do with the 527 status. It is accurate, it is to the point, it is brilliant, it is not an invitation to a tea, it is not a discourse in a social club, it is tough, and it is going to be effective- and it is unapologetic! I think the largest thing we have to do if we are able to take out the newspaper and tv ads is be able to explain who we are. most americans didn’t even know what a 527 was until 2004. the term became widely known through the swiftboating of john kerry. i think a large part of our success is going to be to communicate that we are not a republican group. we are the people, everyday voters. we are not financed by a rich backer, this is our own many is small quanities. most of us are entertaining the idea of voting republican for the first time in our lives because we care about fairness in the voting process and the overall wellbeing of our country. that distinction will, i think gain a lot of attention and provoke thought among those who would have otherwise dismissed us as working for John McCain.

What concerns me here is that we are being put on the defensive. Remember the wonderful quote earlier in the week, “….then they fight you…then you win.” ?? We won’t let them defeat us.
They are attacking us as individuals by snitching our names and posting junk. The intent is obviously to discredit us. They are attacking all PUMAS, and some may not be as “high order” as we are trying to be (we are human and we do get angry sometimes). They are calling US divisive and hate-mongers, when we are exercising our freedom of speech and right to assemble in our efforts to declare that something went very, very wrong in this election. And we have those rights.
It is unfortunate if some renegade PUMA is mouthing off on another blog and making us look less than dignified, but those could very well be plants from the opposition.

Our work might be done for us. This is not meant to be nasty, but I personally dont think his new “seal” does him any favors. He just doesnt look very Presidential behind it. Its kind of big, I think it looks silly.

Video #1 is OK but a bit unidimensional. Video 2 is pretty radical and conjures up fearmongering, racism perhaps, and is, as I see it, destructive in tone. I don’t know about others, but there is a difference between “edgy” and what I see in video 2. What is is that Einstein said….a problem is never solved at the level it was created?
Plus, I would like to know what audience a video that we invest in would be targeted to…and where it will be played and for how long. Are we able to create one that represents PUMA and it’s goals/ideals? If so, I suggest we focus on our violation of our voter rights, noname’s broken promises (already), the DNC’s “selection” of a candidate…..asking people to WAKE UP!
Thanks for the ads Murphy, I like them both; just a few small suggestions for #2 if it has not been already finalized; maybe start the ad out in white/black and then gradually change it over to color so that the words would enter the body in color which would eliminate any racial contentions, so the end results would be that the ad is colorized. It sends a loud message, could it be the BORG collective-lite laughter.
I would like to jump in with my thoughts about hateful language and my first thought is what describes hateful language?
I have been on the website, although I don’t always post, for a while and have always seen ideas, suggestions, and statements that are focused, to the point, and simply amazing. I think, what a strong dedicated group in such a short period of time.
In my opinion, we are all different, we come from different backgrounds and places and our ways of expressing ourselves may be different, not saying that we should be outlandish, however, because we are different; some of us write exactly what we think which might appear offensive and some of us think what we write; neither is wrong it depends upon your interpretation of the message.
Whew, that was a mouth full but all I am trying to say is yes we have to have a certain standard on what we post but at the same time we should allow everyone to be themselves.
Just like we have to be conscious of external visitors, internally, a great collage of people have been placed together and we don’t want to loose any of these wonderful talents because we have different styles.

Okay, another question for all of you guys–I became very passionate when I was volunteering for the past 3 months and decided that I desperatelly want to work on different campaigns for a living how do I do that? Where do I go after the elections are over? If all of the Congressmen or CA state Assembly members are elected only every 2 years, I may not be able to make anything between the campaign season depending on when they’ll start to run again for re-election. Do any of you know by any chance how that works? They probably don’t need staff after the elections are over, especially if they are getting re-elected. If you could help me out with that I’ll greatly appreciate it. My B.S. degree was in Public Relations and Marketing and I really want to work on campaigns. Does anybody here on the blog speak Hebrew? There are about 6.5 Million Jewish voters–HBO is trying very hard to get them to vote for him. Maybe we could attract them. He has a website in Hebrew. When Gore was running for President he was selling Yarmolka’s–head covering for men and women. Maybe we could do translations on the site in: Spanish, Vietnamese, Hebrew? Other languages? When we get our spokes person they could really target our site and our work to those communities. What do you guys think?

To all of those who have read the articles about Clinton campaigning with Obama — has it occurred to you that there is NOTHING in that article that confirms he actually talked with Hillary about doing this? Read the last two paragraphs closely:
“The two met privately on June 5 after ditching reporters to make sure there would be no photos or coverage of the first post-race meeting. Obama was asked Wednesday whether they were talking.”
“I have not had conversations with Senator Clinton because she has been getting a well-deserved vacation,” he said at the time. “We will be speaking I think in the next few days or certainly the next week and will be having an ongoing conversation.”
I think it’s the typical Obama publicity trick to divert the attention away from his public financing flip flop blunder. Let’s wait to hear from Hillary directly on this. Remember the hype about her conceding and talks of VP? And she came out and proved it incorrect.
I thought about the posts yesterday too — regarding her conference call. I noticed a lot of people complaining that they never got an invitation to this conference call. They went on to say in the post that this is unusual. Usually they get a confirmation email when there is a conference call. When the same PUMA people posted the contents of the conference call — it was the usual description of a sad Clinton tone (absent of her usual brilliance when speaking) explaining to support Obama.
So question here: Is it possible her camp didn’t send out invitations to this conference call on purpose? Maybe due to the content (and being forced into that content) she didn’t send out invitations in hopes that the audience would be small (intentionally). Just a thought.

I also suggested a rally in Philadelphia and other large cities, because now they are focusing on state capitals. We should also protest Obama’s campaign rallies and remind people of the MI and FL dirty tricks.
Have received several comments/emails about possible misreadings and/or misgivings about video #2. As a result, we will not be using it in any advertising or outreach.
I believe it is a very powerful video and that there was no intention on the part of the artist to incite racial anxiety.
These videos are meant as examples, not as fully completed or edited ads. The idea is to show the group, and the lurkers, the KINDS of ads we might be able to produce and air.

I am Jewish and I would like to reassure #204 that the vast majority of Jews in the United States speak English far better than Hebrew. I had 7 years of Hebrew school while growing up on the East Coast and could not translate Hebrew or speak it fluently if my life depended on it. I can read it — but cannot translate it.
Having spent my life among many Jews — I know I am not alone in this fact. Friends of my children who have parents from Israel and are subjected to Hebrew more regularly speak it fluently, but all of them also speak English quite well. So no need for the Hebrew translators. Just reach out to the Jewish communities, Rabbis, Jewish newspapers and newsletters — and explain your concerns. They are an extremely intelligent group and they have similar concerns brewing so you might find them very receptive.

I’m pretty sure it was Moveon.org that I read is Obama controlled. I thought I read that Obama is helping to fund the organization to get a lot of pro-Obama advertising from them. So if this is the organization that I recall being mentioned… then don’t expect them to have a sympathetic ear to our cause and we might need to steer clear.
I found that when doing a search on Obama + Jewish — there are a lot of articles out there by Jewish bloggers on anti-Obama sentiments and concerns. Some of these articles and/or blogger sites offer email addresses to respond. You might start there.
I read an excellent article addressed to the Jewish community and I keep wanting to research in my notes at home for the link. I’m at work right now — so I’ll try to remember to do that tonight and I’ll post the link tomorrow (if I am successful at finding it). My guess the author of the article I’m thinking of would be an excellent source to start with for marketing our message. I’ll keep you posted.

Their take on the call yesterday is that Hillary does not want to be in the position of accepting any help from #61 to pay her debts because there will be strings attached. They added that it is illegal for #61 or the Dems to take any of her campaign money. They said if you feel more comfortable , send a donation to her HQs in Virginia. They specifically pointed out that she said she wants to keep her circle of friends together.

Hopefully, but the Chabad congregations are most likely the orthodox groups. And Saturday — the Sabbath — is the holiest of all days to Jews and particularly to the orthodox group. They aren’t allowed to do anything on the Sabbath. Not even drive a car.
Jewish congregations are divided into three categories: Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox. The Reform group is the most lax of all groups. They hardly adhere to any of the traditional constraints. The Conservative groups are more in the middle — and the Orthodox are the extreme that uphold every traditional law in the strictest sense. Hopefully that information may help you to navigate the complexities of Jewish communities. (smile)

On policy issues, I’m more closely aligned with Democrats than I am with Republicans. But I cannot in good conscience vote for a man of such bad character. In November, I will vote against Senator Obama.

Yesterday I joined in on a conference call Hillary had with her National Finance team. She thanked her supporters emphatically for all we have done, and let us know that she wants to keep her network of friends together to fight for issues of great importance over the next few months. It was so great to hear her voice — like all of you, I miss her.
She made a personal appeal for assistance in retiring the outstanding debt owed to vendors by the campaign. It is often the case that the eventual nominee pays off at least a part of the debt incurred by a competitor’s campaign. I just was watching Lou Dobbs and I’m disgusted with McCain. He is now pandering to the Latinos and had a private meeting with them last night. A conservative Republican who is with the IL Minuteman project said she was disappointed because he kept repeating Comprehensive Immigration Reform which means “amnesty” for illegals and all the Latinos were cheering. He also said that Spanish was the first language spoken in AZ before English and they cheered again. Guess he forgot the Native Americans. He has now flip-flopped again as he previously stated he learned his lesson and that the American people were against amnesty. I’m originally from Miami and had to leave because of the massive influx of illegals and I agree totally with Lou Dobbs about this issue. I’m going to have a hard time voting for McCain but Obama is worse, going to give illegals drivers’ licenses and the kitchen sink. Come back Hillary!! Am praying for a pre-convention bombshell that will force Obama out.
The illegal immigrant issue the main issue I disagree with McCain on. It is going to be the hardest thing I have to consider when voting for McCain, but I am going to vote a straight Republican ticket and hope to place members in the Senate and House which will limit his ability to do this. We need to secure our borders first. period

According to the State Dem site for Colorado, the dems are planning a massive voter registration drive and are targeting low income and the young, college students.
They are planning on signing up 100,000 new voters.
I believe CO is one of the states that NoName plans to win. Right now it’s a Toss Up state. CO is pretty conservative, so I can’t imagine him winning there.
Democracy for America (Howdy Doody’s indoctrination program) is planning the same thing in New Mexico which is leaning red right now. NoName also hopes to win this state.
I have emailed letters to the editors of several major newspapers in CO and so far 5 have asked to confirm who I was. I did the same for Nevada and will do New Mexico tomorrow.
NoName will have to work hard for any votes in those states, if I have anything to say about it.
Every day just makes me distrust and dislike him and Mrs. NoName even more. I am happy to see that a few folks are starting to withdraw from the kool-aid kick and see the light.

If so, I think it could be an effective TV ad if we could find real people with print outs/proof of voting record stating that they have reflected on their vote and will not vote for *61 on the GE due to A…B…C…reasons. I think it could effectively influence other *61 supporters and make them reflect about “the person” (*61).

I apologize if someone has already posted this, but I just read it — an Op-Ed piece in the NYT by David Broder “The Two Obamas.” An excellent article! The sheen is coming off this fool’s gold… It lightens my heart on a day it has felt heavy about the thought that our HRC will supposedly show up in public with this con artist. I understand why she may feel she must, but Obama doesn’t seem to understand he must EARN his votes for himself, and not assume that our loyalty is transferrable. Hillary earned my vote, and I won’t just hand it over to him.

God, Republicans are saps. They think that they’re running against some academic liberal who wouldn’t wear flag pins on his lapel, whose wife isn’t proud of America and who went to some liberationist church where the pastor damned his own country. They think they’re running against ome naïve university-town dreamer, the second coming of Adlai Stevenson.
But as recent weeks have made clear, Barack Obama is the most split-personality politician in the country today. On the one hand, there is Dr. Barack, the high-minded, Niebuhr-quoting speechifier who spent this past winter thrilling the Scarlett Johansson set and feeling the fierce urgency of now. But then on the other side, there’s Fast Eddie Obama, the promise-breaking, tough-minded Chicago pol who’d throw you under the truck for votes.
This guy is the whole Chicago package: an idealistic, lakefront liberal fronting a sharp-elbowed machine operator. He’s the only politician of our lifetime who is underestimated because he’s too intelligent. He speaks so calmly and polysyllabically that people fail to appreciate the Machiavellian ambition inside.
But he’s been giving us an education, for anybody who cares to pay attention. Just try to imagine Mister Rogers playing the agent Ari in “Entourage” and it all falls into place.
Back when he was in the Illinois State Senate, Dr. Barack could have taken positions on politically uncomfortable issues. But Fast Eddie Obama voted “present” nearly 130 times. From time to time, he threw his voting power under the truck.
Dr. Barack said he could no more disown the Rev. Jeremiah Wright than disown his own grandmother. Then the political costs of Rev. Wright escalated and Fast Eddie Obama threw Wright under the truck.
Dr. Barack could have been a workhorse senator. But primary candidates don’t do tough votes, so Fast Eddie Obama threw the workhorse duties under the truck.
Dr. Barack could have changed the way presidential campaigning works. John McCain offered to have a series of extended town-hall meetings around the country. But favored candidates don’t go in for unscripted free-range conversations. Fast Eddie Obama threw the new-politics mantra under the truck.
And then on Thursday, Fast Eddie Obama had his finest hour. Barack Obama has worked on political reform more than any other issue. He aspires to be to political reform what Bono is to fighting disease in Africa. He’s spent much of his career talking about how much he believes in public financing. In January 2007, he told Larry King that the public-financing system works. In February 2007, he challenged Republicans to limit their spending and vowed to do so along with them if he were the nominee. In February 2008, he said he would aggressively pursue spending limits. He answered a Midwest Democracy Network questionnaire by reminding everyone that he has been a longtime advocate of the public-financing system.
But Thursday, at the first breath of political inconvenience, Fast Eddie Obama threw public financing under the truck. In so doing, he probably dealt a death-blow to the cause of campaign-finance reform. And the only thing that changed between Thursday and when he lauded the system is that Obama’s got more money now.
And Fast Eddie Obama didn’t just sell out the primary cause of his life. He did it with style. He did it with a video so risibly insincere that somewhere down in the shadow world, Lee Atwater is gaping and applauding. Obama blamed the (so far marginal) Republican 527s. He claimed that private donations are really public financing. He made a cut-throat political calculation seem like Mother Teresa’s final steps to sainthood.
The media and the activists won’t care (they were only interested in campaign-finance reform only when the Republicans had more money). Meanwhile, Obama’s money is forever. He’s got an army of small donors and a phalanx of big money bundlers, including, according to The Washington Post, Kenneth Griffin of the Citadel Investment Group; Kirk Wager, a Florida trial lawyer; James Crown, a director of General Dynamics; and Neil Bluhm, a hotel, office and casino developer.
I have to admit, I’m ambivalent watching all this. On the one hand, Obama did sell out the primary cause of his professional life, all for a tiny political advantage. If he’ll sell that out, what won’t he sell out? On the other hand, global affairs ain’t beanbag. If we’re going to have a president who is going to go toe to toe with the likes of Vladimir Putin, maybe it is better that he should have a ruthlessly opportunist Fast Eddie Obama lurking inside.
All I know for sure is that this guy is no liberal goo-goo. Republicans keep calling him naïve. But naïve is the last word I’d use to describe Barack Obama. He’s the most effectively political creature we’ve seen in decades. Even Bill Clinton wasn’t smart enough to succeed in politics by pretending to renounce politics.

I’m very upset about the Nameless One’s flip-flopping on the campaign finance issue –
He will be BUYING the election in the same way that he was able to buy Hillary out of the campaign.
I’m scared of the direction he will be leading this country into and all the implications.
I think one of the ways we can be effective, is to attack THE CONTENT OF HIS CHARACTER – in any way we can, i.e., videos, letters, fliers – JM is going to need some help –

I think that we should continue to mention the undemocratic nature of the nomination process. We should remind people constantly about the half votes for MI and FL delegates and the four delegates taken from Hillary and given to Obama and how his campaign INSISTED that these states not have full voting. WE MUST NOT LET OBAMA AND THE DNC SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG!!
The average voter can understand how unfair and undemocratic that is. We also should remind people that Hillary won the popular vote. Let the DNC and Obama try to explain why they disenfranchised these voters and ignored the popular vote! It is indefensible in a democracy. We should mention these dirty tricks in ads, protests, and blogs as much as possible.
They’re hoping everyone forgets it and the media (who wouldn’t stop talking about Bill Clinton’s sex life) is also trying to forget it. So we have to constantly make it an issue and remind everyone what a fraud and a hypocrite Obama is when he talks about “reforming the establishment” and the like.
My guess is that moveon.org is dropping 527 status so that they can take on and smear all the anti-Obama 527’s. They will still spend big money on getting him elected, just in some other outlet.

I did and does not have that much time right now to read all the post…will try to do a litte bit later so this may have already been posted but I just heard about it alittle while ago and it made me really upset.
Somewhere today? in Chicago? The Chosen One was speaking I believe to a staff of advisors/supporters etc it was small panel like setting (small version of the DNC hearing tables). And guess what the Chosen Ones campaign tactics did to the Presidental Seal that appears on the podium when the President speaks…..they modified it and placed on a small podium in front of the Chosen One where he was seated at the head of the table. OMG….
Their version is the same seal…..except where it says President of the United States it says Obama for America / then underneath it has something for the Chosen One (brain exhausted can not remember) and the eagle is all white instead of gold w/red-white-blue but inside the eagles body has the Chosen Ones symbol.
I am sorry but that upset me majorly. Where do they get off doing stuff like this. What is next changing the face on a dollar bill from Lincoln to the Chosen One, or maybe a comenrative quarter?

This is an HBO film that came out in 2004. I saw it a few years ago and loved it. I just saw it again, and sobbed when I realized the uncanny similarities between our struggle wth DNC and the Suffrage Movement from about 1913 to 1920 when the 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. It’s extremely well done — it’s a movie and not a documentary. And the historical accuracy is excellent.
OK. — What impacted me seeing it in light of our current situation –
THE FIRST IS THE COINCIDENCE OF DATES –
It was Aug. 26th, 1920, that the amendment became law. GUESS WHERE MANY OF US WILL BE ON AUG. 26 THIS YEAR. I think marking the 88th anniversary would be awesome for the march — and something we could urge the DNC to do on the floor. The point being that 88 years ago women got the right to vote. Now we can’t get our votes counted.

I don’t put much stock in the polls. As we saw during the primary, they are skewed toward Obama. Currently, the Newsweek Poll which has Obama up 15 points against McCain is affecting the Poll of Polls. No other poll has Obama performing this well. I do like to keep up with favorability ratings, though. This is the latest from Rasmussen:
“Obama is viewed favorably by 53% and unfavorably by 44%. For McCain, the numbers are 54% favorable and 43% unfavorable. Opinions are held more strongly about Obama–28% have a Very Favorable opinion of the Democratic hopeful while 28% hold a Very Unfavorable opinion. For McCain, those numbers are 19% Very Favorable and 16% Very Unfavorable.”

Let us all remember that Newsweek is in Obama’s camp, so I wouldn’t believe anything coming from them. All the other polls show somewhere between a 2 and 6 point lead. He should be a lot farther ahead than that considering the disaster Bush has been. I am not very impressed with his lead at all.

I think we should have a chain from each person here of everything that we don’t like about Obama to put in the letter. Murphy like you said we have very talented intelligent people we should involve everyone that would like to- submit an idea on why they will not support Obama. Being from Michigan I will start this out with this:
My personal reason for not supporting Obama is because I am from Michigan and believe he disrespected everyone from my state when he removed his name from my ballot therefore he clearly sided with party leaders instead of the people/voters in Michigan. He did not stand up for me- I surely won’t be there for him.
I recruited two new PUMAs today. Both were very excited to find a place to be part of for Hillary. When ever anyone comments on my pin and then tells me they are upset about Hillary I tell them not to give up and to go to the PUMA PAC website and join us. Can’t wait to get my t-shirt. Any chance we will have bumper stickers or pins? My Hillary pin seems to generate a lot of interest.

1. The movement was split between cautious women who wanted to be friends with Pres. Wilson so he would propose an amendment. And the activist group that took many non-violent actions to keep it before the public. The activists were greatly criticized for not supporting Wilson’s re-election in 1916. The activist women said they would not support ANY party that didn’t support an amendment to give women the vote.

3. It was the pressure of the women’s actions in the midst of war that finally got Wilson to propose it and encourage its passage.
Who doesn’t say good things about Women’s Suffrage today. So, let’s point out that women might not be voting yet except for the movement’s refusal to support a Democratic party that didn’t support them in 1916. [e.g. PUMA].
I think some great actions could be done around how we haven’t finished the battle yet — women are still not fully enfranchised 88 years later. And today we are using EXACTLY the same historic non-violent actions that got us a suffrage amendment Maybe we need an amendment to enfranchise voters in caucus states and to get all votes to be counted.

I think I understand the basics of campaign financing reform. Lots of qualified people who would run for President, can’t because of lack of funds. To encourage diversity and more participation, the idea was to help cash poor prospective candidates with funds, providing they abide by certain rules. The one with unlimited funding can try to buy his way into the presidency. It can put good, perhaps more qualified individuals at a great disadvantage.
I am not surprised that BO first supported his participation in the funding agreement. He could not be 100% sure he would get enough money. Now he has flip-flopped because he has gobs of money.
So he takes unprincipled advantage of the chance to buy the Presidency.

Maybe we should start letters for all the Superdelegates, to the effect that, whatever they had to do survive the hostile political environment, that they can still go to the convention and do the right thing. Start a Superdelegate rebellion.

I ask this because I know he loves to make it look as though millions of ‘ordinary people’ are giving small amounts to his fund, but in actuality, I can tell you of many, many, many multi-millionaires in my city who are giving to him, they maxed out at $2300 in the primary….so does this mean he can go for the gusto from them?

I support this fundraise drive and my donation is on its way. More media exposure is great for Puma.
They have said Hillary brings a lot of baggage with her, however I think Obama has certainly accumulated a lot more serious baggage than her in a hurry, and he is truly divisive in the most destructive way. When he talks about change, I just hear flip- flopping.
I am just an average Joe, definitely not an expert in political issues, but if it is acceptable and within this site’s scope, I would like to pose an open question here, and I would really appreciate some comments and suggestions:
I truly believe we are all united in our goal, which is to reject the appointing of Obama as the nominee, but it seems to me that we are far from unity in terms of our strategy as to how to accomplish this goal. I think Puma would gain a lot more leverage with the media and the Democratic Party if we can be united in our strategy. It would be Obama’s wish (sadly, this includes the DNC) that Puma members and Hillary supporters are scattered all over the voting map, therefore minimizing the power.
The way I see it personally, there are three courses of action left to take:
1) We wait for more dirt on Obama to come out, eventually reaching the point even the DNC realizes that Obama cannot win. One of the problems with this is that it may be too late by then and the media such as CNN, MSNBC etc. will keep covering them up as best as they can.
2) If Hillary will accept and run as an Independent. I personally think she has a good chance to win, but her loyalty and the money issue would make it very challenging.
3) This is the absolute last option and is a very bitter pill to swallow, which is to elect McCain for 4 years. The reason to do this is either to force the DNC to come to reality, or to select the lesser evil of the two remaining candidate.
The other choices of Not Voting or Writing Hillary’s Name in even though her name is not on the ballot are, in my own opinion, not good choices, because all would be counted as wasted votes and this may actually increase Obama’s chance to win.
I sincerely hope my 2 ¢ worth of opinion may help people such as Murphy to take Puma to its destination.

I am pretty sure the same limits apply. I heard on tv tonight (I switch between CNN and MSNBC as background) that BO has scads of money and is counting on the little people to keep sending in small donations. I think the amount $200 was mentioned.

Murphy – When the blog started, one of the action items was for Democrats to ask for refunds of their DNC donations. Can Obama Chumps ask for a refund of their donations?
I get calls every day now, asking for campaign contribution to such and such. Aside from a very few local candidates, all my political contributions are going toward paying down Hillary’s debt. (I especially loved telling the DNC caller that very thing.)
The other two candidates are simply not fit for office. I’m staying with Hillary for the long haul.

In an earlier posting I said I get really tense about the frightening possibility of a BO presidency. (I was also tense in 2000 and 2004 about the Bush Presidency…turns out I was right to be frightened…I am so scared about my son-in-law going to Iraq)

If Hillary goes out on the stump with the Chosen One will that go against her at the convention if she does get to be our nominee. Some are saying she can’t be the nominee once she has thrown her support behind him. Maybe a different story if stuff keeps coming out and they realize he is not electable but until then what does this mean for HER chances of being our nominee. I just do not trust the DNC and all their sneaky wheeling and dealing like they have shown so far.
LilyMaid – I find it hard not to have the news on so I’ve just become accustomed to using the “jump” button on the remote in spasms of censorship- there is something about that man that I simply cannot stand, I do not trust him..there is something incredibly slimy underneath all that polish…and what I cannot comprehend is why people like us can sense it and see it and so many others cannot…it’s like watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers….or, perhaps in the extreme, being the only one to know who the Anti-Christ is…it’s all very odd.

I’m still not sure what the premise or the goal of the letter would be. Are you suggesting that we give her encouragement? Or would we be asking her not to publicly support Obama? I think she’s aware that we’re here and that we support and trust in her. And I think she’s aware that the DNC screwed much of the base of the Democratic Party over (i.e. our disenfranchisement by the DNC). In the speech she gave when she suspended her campaign, she practically yelled at the failed leadership of the undemocratic Democratic Party to hear the nearly 18 million people who voted for her. That leaves communicating with her to express our willingness to do anything she wants with the exception of following Obama. Honestly, her decision will be based on political expediency (how much does she want to upset the supposed party leaders who now have power, despite the fact that they are ridiculously incompetent?), calculation, and her knowledge that Obama is an ass who should not have started his run for the presidency so premature and who should not be enabled any more than he already has. In the end, I’m not sure that the letter will accomplish anything more than express to her our support or demand from her that she make the decisions that we want her to make. Frankly, I think she already sees this exactly the way we do and so will make the decision we want her to make regardless. Whether we write a letter or not, she’s going to have to campaign for him under any circumstances and, each day that she does, pray for the good of the party and the country that he loses.

In my humble opinion … I’m not an attorney … Obama’s use of the “suggestive” presidential seal is in bad taste, but not actionable from a legal standpoint.
The concept is generic enough and the artwork is modified enough that does not appear to be an infringement of copyright.
The artwork is different enough that it cannot be mistaken for the presidential seal. In other words, if you received a document with that artwork on it, you would not be misled to believe it’s official correspondence from the White House. This, more than anything else, is the reason behind the law you cited.
If enough people protest, Obama may be forced to admit it’s in bad taste and to refrain from using it again. But that’s probably the worst that will happen.
I think Obama will do himself in!! On yahoo there was an article about Obama saying the Republicans would bring race into this election. He seems to be the only one who brings race up. I just can’t imagine that people are so blind they do not see through him.
I really cannot imagine being Hillary Clinton and having the herculean task of standing next to Obama on any stage and urging people to vote for him…I personally don’t want to see it but I imagine the pressure from the party forces her to do it.

I have a very simple way of looking at the election come November. If indeed it’s Obama vs. McCain then all that’s necessary for an Obama defeat is for enough women not to vote. That’s the Democratic Party’s main demographic by far. No women, no White House.
I’m sitting tight not thinking of politics much until the day when either the women get out and vote or they don’t.
In the meantime… don’t worry be happy my fellow PUMA mates. Concentrate more on taking care of your health, nurture your wealth if you’ve got some, live within your means, and enjoy the good life if you can. In America you can do whatever you set your mind to with maybe a little help from friends and God.
Until our nation is overthrown by another we will never really have a thing to complain about regarding our government. I agree with you. I do like VA Puma’s idea about letters to Hillary, but something about it didn’t feel quite right. I think you hit it on the head.
Additionally, as much as I agree with people who are upset about the sexism and disenfranchisement, the fact is that the DNC doesn’t care. Our complaints are falling on deaf ears. They’ve written us off. They aren’t actively seeking our money or our votes because they figure they can capture easier prey with less effort.
For my part, I’m focusing my energy elsewhere. Forgive me if people are tired of hearing this idea. But my approach is to put daily pressure on Obama to accept McCain’s invitation for weekly town hall meetings. As voters, we’re entitled to hear the candidates debate the issues. But from the Puma perspective, I’m counting on Obama to trip himself up big-time if he is forced to debate McCain. (Refer to post #294 if you’d like to see the talking points I made today in an email I sent to the media, with copies to Obama et. al.)
That being said, however, if the group consensus is to send a letter to Hillary, I’ll help edit it. I don’t have time to write it myself, but I’ll pitch in where I can.
I’m always getting ads for house cleaning services (are they trying to tell me something

If we want to help Hillary, I think we really need to help retire her debt. The Obama donors haven’t contributed a cent, eventhough some of her big supporters are helping him, and I think Senator Obama is using it against her to force her to campaign. Lets help her free up her debt, so she wont have to depend on the loser DNC.
Obama cannot function without a teleprompter – extemporaneous speech is not his strong suit. He babbles and stammers like an idiot and his campaign knows it…which was why he avoided Clinton and why he will put McCain off for as long as he can..
I think everyone should remain positive about Hillary campaigning even if we don’t like it. She has a knack for getting her point across without Obama and his minions even realizing what her point is. I’m going to hope for the best of a bad situation and send her supportive thoughts. This is a catch 22 for her.

My husband told me to write return to sender on it and I told him I wanted to see what was inside. Sure enough bo wanted money. Tomorrow I am telling bo that after being a democrat for our entire voting years that we are now Independents and I will only be helping Hillary pay off her debt.

I started sending daily messages to Obama through his web site, basically “challenging him to a dual.” I word it differently each day, but I make many of the same talking points. I’m sending copies of those messages to the DNC, Al Gore, Howard Dean, and whomever else I’m in the mood to nudge at the moment.
Today, I sent an email to a number of media resources. (See Post #294.) Again, I sent copies to Obama and his pals. Of course, I also sent copies to John McCain and the RNC, welcoming them to use my talking points.
Yesterday, I sent John McCain a message saying that if I were a member of his campaign staff, I’d run an ad showing Obama saying repeatedly, “I welcome that debate with John McCain.” Then the unseen narrator would say, “So why won’t Senator Obama agree to debate John McCain now? Perhaps he’s afraid that Senator McCain would expose his lack of substance behind the rhetoric. Perhaps Obama is simply not a man of his word.” And so forth.
I know Obama doesn’t care about my letters and emails. But if John McCain, the RNC, and the media picks up the battle cry, Obama will eventually be backed into a corner where he has to do the debates.
Okay, my friends. I’m off to the fire station for a few hours. I need to look after my own projects. I know I’ll be hundreds of posts behind in my reading by the time I return to this blog, but it can’t be helped.

One of the posts on this morning’s post had a link to a website that lists donors. *61’s website notes that people can only donate $2300 per election. He also states that the primary election and the general election are two separate elections so people can give him $2300 twice as long as they specify if it is for the primary or the general election. I went to the website listing donors and found that Antoin “Tony” Rezko…the guy *61 was mixed up with on the purchase of his house and Rezko’s wife are listed many times. They use various names and have a number of different employers. And, as PUMAs have noted, “…follow the money…” The media has stated that Rezko is under federal investigation so the money trail will be followed right to *61’s door…literally. And, all history buffs know who caught Al Capone…the money trail was his downfall.
When the video clip of Hillary/nobama campaigning together is out, we can make a copy with a ticker going across the screen stating “donate to Hillary”.

I don’t understand why Hillary is going to campaign with him either. My husband said she has more to gain staying in the good graces of the Democratic Party and being the Senator in NY. I think Bill is not happy and he is keeping a low profile so it doesn’t reflect on Hillary. I keep hoping that this can be reversed somehow. Maybe something is going to be uncovered that will get Hillary back in the picture——–who knows. I think we just have to be patient for the time being.

Tomorrow is Pittsburgh Pride Day and there’s a parade. I am passing out flyers at the parade and posting around the city … I printed 300 color and 300 black/white. Others printed flyers also.

I have a silly question. Why have I NOT heard about the DFA? Democracy for Americans? Why did I not know these people existed and that Howard Dean is the founder of this progressive group, and that they ONLY back progressive candidates, and that Obama’s site says, “Obama for America”-not Obama for President. That the DFA site uses the phrase, “My DFA”-just as Obama uses “Mybarackobama” ? This group wants to “change” the Democratic Party “from top to bottom”. Well, they are certainly trying. i’m having a bit of time trying to catch up to all the posts since we started a couple of weeks ago:) but that is a good thing–an overflow of abundance, heh.
I don’t get sound when i play the youtube videos…dunno why…this is new laptop with vista so am still getting acquainted…anyways i was able to scroll slowly and got the gist of the ads. here are my .02 cents:
Ad 1) I like a lot bc it brings in black & white hard facts, and how it links to his double speak…tho it might need to be sharpened to show just how BO’s acts are differentiated fm how HRC, JM & other politicians receive bundling, a usual thing in campaigns, fair or no. Perhaps sth targeted towards his continuous refrain that the money is ‘fm the people, of under $200′ & this is ab the cleanest money you can find, etc. If we show just how the big hitters & lobbyists maneuver their way around to make it appear a lot of the donors are ‘regular ppl, sending in their crumpled 5 dollar bills, etc, struggling to reach $100, or $200′ in their dream of Hope, etc etc…And whatever other stuff ab finances other ppl know more of than me;)
Ad #2) This is is meaningful bc it hearkens to the first salvo of a BO fan, w/ his ‘unauthorized HRC 1984 Orwellian ad, in which HRC’s face is on the screen, shattered by the hammer…;)
It also is powerful bc it really highlights how taken in by BO & his Axelrod/Plouffe hit team – esp as it connotes to students & media (which those robotic ppl in the ad could be somehow adjusted to more clearly show it is “media’ & ‘media personalities (olbermann! matthews! brazile?) AND students & well known supporters like, moveon.org, dailykos, etc….
This will bring home to general public just the extent of all their complicity, esp the media’s, in controlling these elections, to the public, who might have some suspicions but don’t know how widespread it is.
AND regarding the ENDING…I understood it if the Obama cheerleader is throwing the hammer at the screen w/ Liberty, shattering ‘Liberty’….
OR, the athlete with an HRC SHIRT throws the hammer at the screen of BO’s face, complete w/ a suitable expression (tho a *actual* photo of him, nothing that hints at photoshopping, manipulation etc, to further strengthen the ad message– & not dilute it by others’ claims of wholescale fabrication, exageration etc.
Even better–if this ad also had actual BO quotes, that could be flashed on the screen throughout the ad as appropriate to the ad flow (I didn’t get the hear the ad, or see it in ‘real time’ so i dunno if his actual quotes would fit in or not), with his face appearing at the end with the runner’s entrance???
The other is the Runner IS Lady LIBERTY, shattering BO’s face….which would get the point across without directly contrasting, and associating it with HRC–which might backfire into claiming HRC is behind it, blaming HRC for ‘underhanded tactics’ ‘not keeping her word to campaign for BO & DNC, etc’…They already don’t believe anything the Clintons say even if it is ‘the sky is blue…!’;)
To another point—Although Liberty is a great visual…just HOW are we to tie it in with BO directly??? I mean, he is in essence ‘the tired, the humble, the poor, … yearning to be set free…’ Well~~~I guess i could see the ’set free’ (fm BO brainwashing) part…but may be a bit esoteric to grasp exact relationship btn Lady Liberty & BO, media & hisfans….Can’t think of whatever else right now, in terms of iconic figures/symbols that exactly, astutely grasps the counter to whatever character/principle/etc message we want associated with BO&fans in this ad. Perhaps the “Lady Justice is Blind/Scales of Justice?” Hmm, will ponder it …
OH!!!–IF we could capture his newly rolled puff-blue ‘presidential obama seal’ campaign logo into these ad message…hee.
OK!–NOW, while these 2 ads are great, they can be blown off as ‘personalized emotions of the looong primary campaign & HRC ‘bitter’ supporters/sore losers’…..OR…So WHAT?! ‘We all know funding happens this way for politicians…OR, “neato ad, but obviously sheeer anti-BO propaganda/whoa, they really just don’t like this dude” kinda blow off….
SO. I think an AD #3(?;) with:
a) ACTUAL VIDEO or PHOTOs of CAUCUS CHEATING (especially in those swing states!!!! those state citizens know the role they will play in the election & will feel their responsibility on the election’s outcome & thus more tuned in to msgs that have credible, significant impact on who they will vote for; Whereas other areas, esp “sure” red/blue’ states might feel this info is true, but may feel it’s worthless to complain ab it in the their state)cmplaining ab it in their state” and such.
Perhaps also BO campaign intimidation, dirty tactics during primaries, his rapid fans & rampant HYPOCRISY in words vs actions (both BO & his ‘New Democrats’; Maybe even direct quotes on video fm some of these 19-20 yr old BO student fans/hit team on just exactly WHAT BO means when he says (fill in blank)
OR explain just WHAT is the DNC Platform…?
OR actual statements of vitriolic hatred/personalized, mysogenistic, utterly vile, burning HATE-filled (Brazilla’s fave comeback;), slanderous comments, put-downs of HRC, in particular, & her supporters, if needed)
b) LINE BY LINE comparison of DNC RULES & BYLAWS & how each one was interpreted *for* BO and *against* HRC, EVEN following their “Rules ARE Rules” mantra (eg, FL ad/fundraising ban violation by BO; REAL reasons he took his name–VOLUNTARILY–off MI ballot—AND explain clearly why HRC, Ickes, etc did vote for sanctions at the beginning…and WHY they later were against it, & for returning full vote rights to MI/FL…which everyone seems to dismiss as ‘just HRC acting in her own interests’ (what has BO been doing behind the scense with the committee this whole time anyways??!)
Clear, & clearly RIDICULOUS results of caucus vs primary DELEGATES distribution, based on total number of votes in caucus vis a vis primaries…and just what it means for america to vote in a prez based on these severely unbalanced primaries regulations & BO & team’s active gaming of it (it would be GR8T to get actual insider proof of BO & team planning how to game this system fm before the start of primaries, based on DNC insiders’ (Brazille? Dean? others??? (Brazille’s intimate know-how fm experience as campaign mgr of J.Jackson (after which DNC amended rules yet again) & Gore’s election results & votes/rules investigation on his behalf in 2000); (Dean’s own caucus wins in his prez run, & his online fundraising)) coaching of how to get the most delegates without winning primaries..;)
(Craig Crawford on his trailmix blog has a good post on DNC Rules & their arbitrary application, depending on whether it’s in favor for BO & against HRC);
Again, these points should be absolutely factual, even nonemotional in tone in reporting these facts, not anything that could be dismissed as hyperbolic spin/exaggerated interpretations…Of course, tone will become emotional/signifying, etc when it comes to the actual, full end-message of our ad;0)
c) SIDE BY SIDE comparison of DNC 2008 election actions with GOP 2000 actions – esp in FL;)–& shown in MI too!!!
d) EXACTLY WHAT is GOING ON inside the DNC & overthrow of ppl, platform, etc AND how DEAN, PELOSI, REID etc have spearheaded it under everyone’s nose! Including, implications of move of DNC to Chicago/Chic ‘political machine’ etc.
And/or, Raising question of just WHAT is DEAN about…? Just exactly why/how/what Dean is ‘crazy’ & how this ties in w/ DNC leadership…? (Could also include his complete total non-response to Dem Prty ‘members’ like PUMA & concerned citizens’ repeated attempts to communicate with him…Total nonaccountability, etc….Silencing of all dissent in not supporting BO; Bullying of Delegates who still support HRC now, & bullying of HRC into releasing her delegates now & using her campaign debt to control & threaten her…etc…the examples are endless!;-P
Another point-which could be included with possible Ad ideas, (d) or (e;): A full LISTING of examples of PELOSI’s (& Congress) ineffectual leadership & total pandering to self-interests…Such as all the times when Pelosi said she would ’step in’ ab the Iraq War, ’step in’ for Bush/Cheney abuse of power’ ’step in’ to initiate possible Impeachment grounds, and of course, ’step in’ to stop the primaries early if need be for BO & HRC (altho this one she actually did do sth, tho behind the scenes, out of public’s eye!) since years & years now…and STILL NADA!
ALSO that a BIG reason why no one pursued Impeachment & such bc they feared public ‘backlash’ against a trial, and of course turning away of their voters when it’s time for their re-election!!!
e) ALL SWITCHED SD, local DELEGATES LISTING/CALLING to ACCOUNT of why/when/justifications of their switching fm HRC to BO…Esp in states they are re-election!! (ie, Pelosi!!!) ) EXAMPLES, real quotes, video, transcripts of BO (supposedly ‘dem party vols’) volunteers at polling sites, phone call scripts, etc, of BO campaign intimidation towards voters (esp HRC supporters);
Underhanded moves, such as laundering donation money through moveon.org for those who’ve exceeded their indiv limit; Stealing of caucus/voter reg sheets at state local dem offices (eg, TX)
f) The Congress “Tea Party” Senators-who-lunch; Media personalities (KOlbermann, etc) & their hyperbole in re BO & against HRC….
==> KEY POINT: IF NO ONE, not even “the 4th Estate,” the Press, can bring themselves to critique BO NOW, how will we hold BO & his supporters in Congress accountable if he should be Prez??? Just how can anyone raise credible questions ab BO’s decisions, appointments, acts, hold BO & his Cabinet & unofficial cadre of advisors ACcOUNTABLe if NO ONE will/can do it NOW??? Oh sure, they said it’s difft fm primaries, now it’s the GE the gloves will come off–ha! Still waiting…!
And given all these signs just HOW is this M.O., however difft the content/intents, ANY DIFFERENT fm BUSH/CHENEY’s approach to decisions, actions, bulling of other politicians/media….
And just HOW is this time now any difft fm post 9/11 PRESS/MEDIA, who were complicit in propagating the Iraq War, with nary a critical eyebrow raised…Even Mike MOORE held Wolf/CNN & Media to fault for their lack of critical analyses/independent/investigative journalism towards Bush/Cheney during these early years of ’selling the war’ to the people!
Anyhoo, those are some ideas that will definitely hit home to the gen public, & credible bc based on straightforward documentation, which leaves media in a flummox in contesting the points, and such!

I just had an epiphany related to the point that #621 NativeFlower brings to the table combined with the information from the links that #352 Taffy supplied.
The material that Taffy supplied was lengthy but very interesting reading and brings an exttremely profound light to the crux of the problem. I agree that emails to the DNC might be making them take notice — but I doubt they will change their course of action. I believe they are caught up in the “movement” of Obama similar to the students in the article link were caught up in the “movement” of the “Third Wave.” The original motive to belong to this man might have started with his promise of money and wealth — but they are sold into “belonging” to him. Which would explain a lot of their behavior in the light of everything that is so obviously wrong with BO to the rest of us.
So I would recommend caution at directing information to people like Donna Brazile. She’s not going to get it. She’s Hope-notized. Her reactions don’t surprise me. It only makes my resolve more determined to stop BO from succeeding in November… only with my belief that he would be a dangerous man and we need to keep him as far away from the Whitehouse as possible.
p.s. just clarifying–in AD 2: If Obama-shirt cheerleader leads the hammer-throwing….what is this msg…??? It seems in favor of BO, actually…that we, the masses, have somehow been under the spell of ‘old politics’ etc and only BO & his Hope brigade can shatter us out of our stupor…?
As for an Obama shirt runner throwing hammar at screen pic of ‘Lady Liberty’–this also doesn’t quite jibe with our intended msg=>I mean do we want to represent ‘the people/us’ as under some glazed-eyed control of Lady Liberty??!!
BUT i DO think this ad is powerful for it’s symbolic resurrection at the end of primaries on behalf of HRC–bc it is the same ad type run at the start of the primaries, but used *against* HRC, by BO ppl (o sorry, ‘it was a “rogue advertiser” in BO ad agency, acting individually, & not ‘officially’ linked to BO & team!’;)

1st ad – Great too but I worry about the voice over at the end. If someone is not watching the TV, and just hears his voice, it’s free publicity for “you know who.” We have to be careful about stuff like that. The voice over should state his negatives. That should be the last thing people hear.

The first video is great, but the second needs a lot of work to be effective. I agree with another person who commented it is too esoteric. It really is too long and disjointed between the 1984 imagery and the person figure filling up with descriptives. The 1984 commercial itself is extremely powerful, but of course it has already been done by Apple and then co opted by Obamamaniacs against HRC.
