This has been quite a week Pumas. More than 150,000 new site visits; thousands of letters, emails, and you-tubes sent; launch of the Daily Growl newsletter; thousands of dollars raised and more being raised by the hour. The Puma movement is growing and getting better organized and funded with each passing day. It’s all over the internet, on national TV, and in the newspapers. Thanks to you. And this is only the beginning.
So, for the rest of the night Pumas, sit back, YAWN like the kitten in this picture; have a nice stretch; and relax with a glass of your favorite something. The kitten has something to be proud of, and so do we. Tomorrow is another day!
p.s. Please keep the conversation friendly and positive. We have work to do together — let’s stay united by our shared goals, integrity, and common principles of decency, inclusion, and fair play.
p.p.s. Remember that comments with more than one link get caught in the filter. Just repost with the links in separate comments and they’ll sail right through!

Night Murphy, sleep softly
I ruleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I was first for once
Ok——-I got it.
Have a good rest Murphy
Trish you are too funny
My husband just told me I have my sleep schedule turned upside down. I am on the east coast so it is almost midnight here. Actually I have been getting very little sleep but if I weren’t on here I would lay awake thinking about all this that has taken place and feeling so helpless.
BRB———have to get something cold to drink.
Repost:
I’m going to bed (not before having another glass of wine).
Tomorrow is Pittsburgh Pride Day and there’s a parade. I am passing out flyers at the parade and posting around the city … I printed 300 color and 300 black/white. Others printed flyers also.
After that, there’s a meeting with a couple of other coalition groups to organize here.
I’m in to put pressure on nobama for a town hall meeting … especially if we can have representation there. Plus, I’m sure it annoys nobama that his camp doesn’t trust him to talk on his own.
Have a wonderful night, everyone.
I’m going to see if the campaign tomorrow will be on winamp, if it is I can download onto my harddrive while I watch it. This will make a good quality video then.
night SunnyPA, you have a busy day ahead off you, sweet dreams
Is the Parade in Downtown Pittsburgh ???
SunnyPa
At least you are in Hillary country.
#7 SunnyPA
I bet if his campaign could put a tape player in his mouth with pretaped responses, and then a pull string in his back, they’d feel safer
#12 Trish
Let’s not give them any ideas !!! LOL
You would have thought with all of his planning he would have taken some 101 class in public speaking !
wow i’m slow, that puma kitten killed a bird in that picture. Ok I vote that picture as the #1 picture of all time. I’m making it my screen saver.
My husband starts a conversation now with “for the first time in my adult life” I think this is the first election year that has gotten to us. It has been too long and with many disappointments

I so hope he changed it for a smarter mind

I was thinking the exact same thing but I thought I better be nice. LOL
Welcome back Dragonfly, I hope your trip went well
the one I posted starts off in an ominous tone – it is actually a set up to a great segment on how the media can be a tool for good or ill.
I also really like this one – it is outdated in that it was created on May 18 to get people galvanized for the DNC meeting on May 31. It is still really good to watch though – gets you fired up.

whatttttttttttttt? That was nice compared to my other thoughts… I’m here editing my thoughts, used to be I only edited my words, I think I’m evolving
Thanks Trish. It didn’t go as I had hoped, but I am at peace with it.
Now I am going to work on some “research” for PUMA. What did I miss?
Can you see him if he makes president.
Start something and change midstream, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I just changed my mind………………oh God this should be worse than 8 years of Bush. No I did not vote for Bush. I was a loyal Democrat.
I like the ads y’all are working on to put on tv. I donated $25 tonight, and I will do that til I meet the $100 mark. Did ya like Obamas comments today..?
Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.
“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”
Look, the race card was out quick this time..course he and his cronies used it pretty quick against our beloved Clintons didn’t they? Hmm..if ya dont like Nobama and ya think he is not qualified or experienced to be President..you must be a racist. What a L-O-S-E-R!
#25, 27 Trish & Barbara,
Are you sure it’s Obama? That bird doesn’t look like a chicken to me.
hey you guys… i haven’t been around much these days…. i’m kind of an unknown in these here parts, but i’ve been loggin in some interesting and enlightening hours on the McCain site….yep! i’m a full-fledge McCainoCrat…..no bones about it…..anyhoo, I just read this over @ RiverDaughter. It’s a post by a HallieAnn on June 17 8:54 pm on the blog titled: “An Invitation to Democrats in Exile” I’ll simply paste it in here:
I have a silly question. Why have I NOT heard about the DFA? Democracy for Americans? Why did I not know these people existed and that Howard Dean is the founder of this progressive group, and that they ONLY back progressive candidates, and that Obama’s site says, “Obama for America”-not Obama for President. That the DFA site uses the phrase, “My DFA”-just as Obama uses “Mybarackobama” ? This group wants to “change” the Democratic Party “from top to bottom”. Well, they are certainly trying. There is no way that a move to Chicago could have happened so quickly-it didn’t-It’s been in the works since the inception of the DFA. Howard Dean, the founder of another party-all the while the chair of OUR party? This is just not right. I always thought that the chair had to remain neutral? No wonder they fought and lied, and misused the RBC to do what they had to do to select one of their own. How many people on the RBC belong to the DFA?
Is anyone else “out there” frightened? There are 675,000 members of the DFA. They train young people, they have “manuals” for this, they have their OWN wireless company. ——–end of post.
anyone know about this? w-t-f ?
#22 – how can he say he just changed his mind???? plenty of evidence shows he not only “lies” in the political sense of the term, he flat out lacks the integrity to have a real position and so just says what is convenient at the time. aacck.

DFA is now headed by Jim Dean, Screamin’ Howard’s brother. I dropped my membership when they sent me an email stating they were supporting Obama.
#37 Trish – Congrats on beating out antifish to post first on the thread! lol!
the ads are cool. I especially like the first one because I think it is pretty expensive to go beyond 60 seconds but the second one is brilliant.

I forgot to give him a flyer (we were in traffic), so, I followed him and flagged him down. Turns out he is a Libertarian, but his wife is a Hillary fan! Whoooo Woooo!
He said he would give her the flyer.
We stood in the street for 1/2 hour talking politics. Nice guy. I got his email.
#57 Trish,
Yes, she’s saying, “Come get what’s left of your master, if you dare!”
Hey, y’all, would you check out this rough draft of a letter to Pelosi requesting written confirmation for a roll call at the convention in Denver?
The Honorable Nancy Pelosi
Office of the Speaker
H-232, US Capitol
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Speaker Pelosi:
In response to a letter to you on March 26, 2008 regarding a delegate’s duty at the convention, your spokesman Brendan Daly stated on March 27 that “the Speaker believes it would do great harm to the Democratic Party if superdelegates are perceived to overturn the will of the voters.” Mr. Daly further explained that “this has been her position throughout this primary season, regardless of who was ahead at any particular point in delegates or votes.”
PUMA Democrats are grateful that you have taken this position because it appears that the Democratic Party is doing precisely what you have stated would be so harmful: attempting to overturn the will of the voters by naming Senator Barack Obama as the nominee for President of the Democratic Party. The voters made their choice, and their choice was Senator Hillary Clinton. The voting results establish without question that she received more popular votes. Accordingly, the PUMA PAC is anticipating a roll call at the Convention in Denver to permit a decision in accordance with the popular vote to allow Senator Clinton to be the nominee for President for our party.
A great many mistakes have been made this primary season by the leadership of the Party. The PUMA Pac and others a part of the justsaynodeal.com coalition are gravely concerned that the leadership is no longer honoring the will of the people. Some hope, faith, and optimism about our Party would be restored if the Convention included a fair roll call process that would give Senator Clinton an opportunity to be the nominee.
Please provide written confirmation that you, as Chairwoman of the Convention, will ensure that a roll call is taken that will take into account those delegates committed to or voting for Senator Clinton.
We look forward to receiving your verification that Senator Clinton’s hundreds of thousands of supporters, from all demographic groups, will have an opportunity to see their candidate on the ballot for President in November.
Sincerely,
PUMA Democrats
http://www.blog.pumapac.org
I have this vision in my head. I see massive protest and even riots if this man becomes our president. And this comes to be because I ask: Who will he be most responsible to? He says to the people. But what politician has ever listened to the will of the people. Sure, they take our money to help get them elected, but then what? So while everyone is delighted at the prospect of doing away with lobbists and installing smaller donations for your average Joe; what will happen to the voice of average Joe afterwords. How will his voicie be heard? How will Congress listen to him? By what means?
If we write letters will they listen? Will they even respond? Nay, will they even read it? From some of the posts here of late, my answer is no, they won’t. So—how do the people ban together to form one voice? They won’t be permitted to lobby, now will they.
While everyone sees this as a positive thing, I don’t think too many are looking ahead to what will happen to this country. The way I envision it, the only way for people to be heard will be to assemble and to have mass rallies. And with fist raised in the air they will try to protest. But even if they protest, what makes anyone believe that politicians will listen to their cries.
We have seen in this primary election season, how our voices are not heard. We have seen how a small group of party elites have taken over our primary process. And I know, I know… it’s all about the delegates, stupid; but what about us… where do we fit in with this new movement that is suppose to be happening. If people donate to BHO, what guarantee is there that he will listen to the masses when he surrounds himself with party elites and curries favor to theml and they to them. Where will this all lead? Will we become stronger, or will they?
Bottom line is, if BHO is putting out the call that there will be no lobbist in his White House, then how will groups of individual people be able to lobby him with one voice? They won’t! All they will be able to do is to write individual letters of protest. So I ask you, if a BHO contributor donated $10, or $50 or a $100 do you think BHO will listen to that individual? By guess is that he will say, but what have you done for me that I should listen to you.
My dear friends, if this man gets elected he would have created the nearest thing to a dictatorship that this country will ever see.
May God help us!
In Peace and Harmony — Cosmeta

Excellent letter, to the point which I like, well written too
I have to wonder if Hillary is totally aware of the strong movement she started. I am sure the DNC was caught totally by surprise.
#64 goandersen – yep, I knew what you meant! nice going. I had a great moment today too. someone I work with is a Hillary supporter – I did not know this. She and I got to talking, and she was resigned that it was a “done deal” and I encouraged her to think again. I sent her a bunch of links, including ours.
it seems many of the people in my community are aligned with the conservative segment of the Republican party.
#69 Dragonfly

Yes, true. We must fight on. The other scenario that people seem to be afraid of is when he isn’t crowned.
Riots in the streets.
Hey all, I’ve been an absent puma today.
Had much homework to catch up on…..I’ve been a neglectful student and willing PUMA PAC junkie.

We’re gald you found your way back then, isn’t that picture on top of this thread just the greatest!
Oh, by the way, the bird in the picture has said his last “bawak”
#80 goandersen
My exact thoughts on that. You hit the nail on the head
#85 Maryland PUMA
LOL that’s rich, i love it!
Dragonfly
It is perfect.
#63 Cosmeta,
Personally, I never thought much about him saying there would be no lobbyists in his White House. It’s all smoke and mirrors when you think about it. Lobbyists don’t hang out at the White House, they lobby Congress and they have a Constitutional right to do so. It’s just another one of his illusions of “new politics”.
Hi Maryland Puma
Glad to see you back. I have been gone for the most part of the day too. I had to go to the doctor today. Yes, I’m sick. Maybe I will feel better tomorrow and will do more things for PUMA.
Missed reading your comments this evening.
TrishfromCanda, is you all are not going to babysit the US through the war [Obama will cause]? Here is an article, very long article, about the Democrats. It is from the Canada Free Press. I found it very refreshing:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/3536
Stupid is as stupid does
Democrats Continue to Make Fools of Themselves
By JB Williams Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Allow me to begin by stating for the record that I realize how politically incorrect it is to single out a specific group of people and acknowledge their overtly foolish behaviors. But it seems we have reached a moment of insanity, when enough really should be enough!
It seems I need to give a speech to Democrats, which I have given to my children on several similar occasions. As Forest Gump learned from his Momma, “stupid is as stupid does.” People, who persist in doing stupid things, must sooner or later be referred to as “stupid!” We have reached that point with the average Democrat voter I’m afraid…
The one thing in the world Democrat politicians might be right about is the need for their voters to be saved from themselves…
As I have explained to my children, ignorance is the absence of knowledge, but stupidity is the possession of knowledge and the refusal to use it intelligently. As we are talking about obvious fundamental truths here, not nuclear physics, an absence of knowledge is not the problem.
Democrats think Obama is Qualified to be Commander-in-Chief
Yet Democrats can not name a single life achievement, or even a single life experience, which qualifies Obama to be president of the most complex and powerful nation on earth. The man thinks we have 57 states… or so.
For the record, Barack Hussein Obama is a first term U.S. Senator. Obama served only 146 days as a new senator before deciding he was qualified to be president, at which time he largely stopped his duties as senator to campaign for the Oval Office.
Now, where I come from, 146 days of on the job training does not make one an expert on anything. Yet it is Obama’s greatest accomplishment, in terms of qualifications for president.
To call Obama a “freshman” is an overstatement. Political kindergartener would be more appropriate.
Democrats think Obama is a “Uniter”
A “uniter” of whom? A black community organizer, in the tradition of communist radical racial rabble-rousing, yes. A twenty year member of a black activist church, run by overtly anti-American racist pastors, yes. A friend only to anti-capitalism leftists in search of proletariat control of all private resources and assets, yes. Husband of a woman who only became proud of America for the first time in her life, when it became clear that her husband might become the DNC nominee, yes.
But “uniter?” How? He can unite an already united Democratic Socialists of America, which already supports his bid for the White House, since he adopted their political platform lock, stock and barrel, years ago. But who else can he possibly “unite?”
Today, under great political duress, candidate Obama denounces his life-long spiritual leader and his church of twenty years and has even withdrawn his family from that church. But before the nation became familiar with his religion of racism, he described his relationship with Rev. Wright this way…
“What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice. He’s much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I’m not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that’s involved in national politics.”- Uniter? Of the Black Panther’s, maybe…
Democrats think Obama knows something about National Security
Yet can anyone list Barack Obama’s national security experience? Does he have military experience? Intelligence gathering experience? What is it on Barack Obama’s empty resume’ which causes Democrat voters to think he knows anything at all about securing a nation of 300 million, or even his own home and family?
There’s no need to belabor this particular point. There is NOTHING in Obama’s past which gives even the slightest indication that he is in any way qualified to be Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces, and responsible for national security. Nothing! And we are a nation currently at war with a nearly invisible international enemy of the most brutal kind.
Democrats think Obama can lower gas prices
Like almost every modern Democrat politician, Obama sees the temporary gas price crisis as only an opportunity to grab more private resources and central power. Democrats are already calling for taxing oil companies into lower gas prices, as if those oil companies will not pass 110% of those taxes down to the consumer in even higher gas prices.
Other more extreme Democrats are skipping right past higher corporate taxes and straight to nationalizing (communist confiscating) the entire oil industry, removing it from the private sector and making it a government owned and operated entity. Energy and Medicine, two things a government should never be allowed to touch…
Obama opposes all efforts to increase domestic production necessary to keep pace with domestic consumption. He supports the idea of penalizing the industry for turning a profit, which translates into improved 401k retirement returns for very average Americans. Yet Democrat voters think Obama will lower gas prices? – Duh!
Democrats think Obama is “charitable”
Like all of their misguided beliefs about Obama, they think this solely on the basis of Obama campaign rhetoric. They call him black because he calls himself black; completely ignoring his mother’s white side of the family, as if they never existed.
I suppose I’m a racist for pointing out that Barack Obama Jr. has chosen to ignore the white half of his family entirely, while writing books about the magnificent influence of a black father who abandoned him at the age of two, only seeing once again at the age of nine, before being raised by his white grandparents in the absence of either parent. So be it!
Democrats love this socialist driven campaign statement, “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”
But they look the other way when Obama’s personal commitment to “giving” falls far short of the mark.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, a decidedly liberal Chicago rag, “Giving, service and compassion are recurrent themes on the campaign trail for Sen. Barack Obama, but the Democratic presidential contender has only recently dug deep into his own pockets to support charitable causes.”
The Tribune column makes a very good case concerning Obama’s not-so-charitable past.
“Public attention to charitable gifts has led to uncomfortable moments for prominent political figures. Then-Vice President Al Gore came in for withering ridicule in 1998 when his tax return showed he had contributed just $353 to charity.” (He can probably afford $500 now that he is raking in all that Global Warming carbon credit scam money.)
Aside from a perfect demonstration of just how profitable the get-rich-quick scheme of Democratic politics can be, Obama tax returns shed a bright light on just how un-charitable the Obama family was, before they were under the bright light of national politics.
“In 2002, the year before Obama launched his campaign for U.S. Senate, the Obamas reported income of $259,394, ranking them in the top 2 percent of U.S. households, according to Census Bureau statistics. That year the Obamas claimed $1,050 in deductions for gifts to charity, or 0.4 percent of their income. The average U.S. household [$32,000 income] totaled $1,872 in gifts to charity in 2002, according to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.”
My how profitable [greedy] public office can be… “On their just-filed 2006 tax return, Obama and his wife, a hospital administrator, reported taxable income of $983,626 and claimed deductions for $60,307 in charitable donations. In 2005 they earned a combined $1.65 million and gave away about $77,300.”
According to the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University, even as Obama becomes richer and richer, he continues to give well below the average American.
According to tax returns, the average American household gives 5.9% of income to charity. Throughout Obama’s life, he has given on average only .4% of his income to charity. Even the bright light of public scrutiny has only been able to loosen up the grip on his wallet to 4.7% in 2005 and 6.1% in 2006.
Again, the Obama facts fall well short of Obama rhetoric. Still, Democrat voters believe the rhetoric over the reality.
Obama is Not a Muslim, but rather a Christian
His half brother in Kenya says he was raised Muslim, which should come as no shock to anyone since he is the son of an African Muslim turned atheist father, Barack Obama Sr., who gave him the Muslim middle name Hussein.
His mother was a white atheist from Kansas, who obviously had a thing for black men. After divorcing Obamas father, she married Lolo Soetoro, another East-West Center student from Indonesia, the largest Muslim population in the world.
In 1967, the family moved to Jakarta, where Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng was born, and where Barack Hussein Obama attended schools in Jakarta until the age of ten, where classes were taught in the Indonesian language, until he returned to Hawaii to be raised by his maternal grandparents.
Barack Hussein Obama was indeed raised in the Muslim faith in the largest Muslim population in the world.
But more importantly, both his mother and his father were believers in racism and socialism and that played an even larger roll in the making of the man who became a twenty year follower of the Rev. Wright and a Chicago “community organizer” of the Saul Alinsky sort.
Democrats Continue to Make Fools of Themselves
As three time loser and DNC super-idiot Al Gore steps out from his Global Warming money making machine to re-enter the political arena one more time, endorsing Barack Hussein Obama for president, Democrats from sea to shining sea continue to follow the pied piper of the 2008 election to slaughter, making complete fools of themselves every step of the way.
Now, I understand why they are uncomfortable with having anyone point out just how foolish they are behaving, in their blind cheerleading for the most unqualified individual to ever seek the Oval Office. But at some point, don’t we really have to call it like it is?
As Thomas Jefferson so wisely pointed out, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”
Even Forest Gump was smart enough to know that people who do stupid things are in fact, stupid.
But the average Democrat voter circa 2008 is obviously unable to distinguish fact from politically motivated fiction and therefore, our nation is at risk of being run by folks foolish enough to think Barack Obama is qualified to be more than a local scout troop leader.
That means it’s up to the rest of America to keep Democrats from harming themselves with sharp objects or voting machines.
Real Democrats like Andrew Jackson, Harry Truman and the real JFK (not Kerry), must be rolling in their graves at what a mindless Democratic party of socialism the DNC has become. My how times have changed, and sadly, not for the better…
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge, and more.” – John F. Kennedy, Democrat
“We’re not going to baby sit a civil war.” – Barack Hussein Obama – Presidential Candidate
Democrats had better watch Forest Gump again… maybe read Jefferson, JFK and MLK more too! Wait, do Democrats read? Is there any chance people will stop being stupid if we don’t start calling it stupid?

lol…..sorry, i stepped away…… it’s true
whatever antifish says is true! i’m outta here for tonight… nobama ever, we will remember in november…..no nomination without representation…..nite nite
#63 cosmeta – what bothers me too is that people don’t seem to realize how hypocritical he is. the first ad demonstrates it – he’s received a ton of money from sub prime lenders and from money bundlers like Goldman Sachs. How do we know that he is not owned by special interest groups? Besides, I have questions about the alleged average joe and jane contributions. Help me out, those of you who know campaign finance rules, but if he does not have to report the low contributors, doesn’t that give him a way to fudge the donator’s info if later called for an accounting? how is all of it ultimately traced back to average jane and joe?

JB Williams is a business man, a husband, a father, and a writer. A no nonsense commentator on American politics, American history, and American philosophy.
We might want to move to Canada with all of the “changes’ that could take place if he is president
Lobbist are groups of people just like us ..PUMAs..
Only most people think of them as BIG MONEY groups…
Dragonfly, welcome back.
#90 bluesgal – fluids! rest! get better soon. I had nine hours of sleep last night and how delightful that was.
We need to figure out PUMAS-if we are going to Denver in August..what Hotel??? What are we doing??? We need to get organized…
#92 Barbara4Hill
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Me too!
Nite, Native Flower, and thanks for the back-up!
Hey, shorttermer – glad to be back! Check out my rough draft to Pelosi at #62 if you don’t mind. Does it need a different approach? Am I taking into account the rules for roll call adequately? I am newly educated on it, so not confident I understand the nuances. Therefore, I went general in the letter.
So actually..We are lobbits..only we have a different agenda…WE THE PEOPLE…
FYI- I read somewhere that Hill’s campaign had to release a whole block of rooms…we need to get organized and be rready to go to Denver…and it has to be more than 200 people…what about a million???
#96 Barbara4Hill – LOL. Yes, I remember saying that if Jeb Bush became governor of Florida, I was moving. Well, sure enough I did – went to Alabama. Not much better there, so I’m back. Anyway, also remember saying that if Bush were elected, I’d be an ex-pat in Paris or Venice to ease my worried mind. Canada would be great – we could hang out with Trish.
#95 ShortTermer
Finally, a reporter up here who is not gushing over Obama, most of them are, I like that aticle, thanks for sharing it
#99 DRAGONFLY
Thank you!!!!!!! And you are right. WOW! You got plenty of sleep last night. GOOD FOR YOU!! We all could use that.
evy, would the MillionWomanMarch or the 18 Million Voices march be going to Denver? They are supposed to be meeting and organizing and may have a plan. Also, we have a few bloggers here in the Denver area who may have ideas. I can dig up the info if you like – just email me at dragonflypuma@gmail.com to remind me in case I get too caught up in the thread and my youtube obsession.
Please do me a favor everyone. In the best interests of focus and organization, please be SURE to send me:
-any ideas you think should be on the project list
Check the list to see if your idea is already listed and if it is, jump in and help the coordinator.
If you have information on any of these projects, please email it to the coordinator. Don’t just post it on the blog. As the blogs get busier, it will be near to impossible to patrol them for information.
The project list is up on the Action Site and I try to update it twice a day.
#106 Dragonfly
You could! and there really are plenty of jobs here, we haven’t been hit with the downward economy yet. It’s coming though
#105 Evy
Would you like to take on organizing a presence in Denver?
I’d love to go to Denver, but I don’t think we should stay at the same hotels, LOL
Personally I am surprised a computer virus has not been used against us.
Dragonfly, the letter is very good, I like the part about asking for a written verification; just send it return receipt requested. Very good.
Trish
And we would all have health care

Did you catch this earlier today from Elaine?
IRON JAWED ANGELS … Why every PUMA should see it — [POST 422 con't.]
This is an HBO film that came out in 2004. I saw it a few years ago and loved it. I just saw it again, and sobbed when I realized the uncanny similarities between our struggle wth DNC and the Suffrage Movement from about 1913 to 1920 when the 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. It’s extremely well done — it’s a movie and not a documentary. And the historical accuracy is excellent.
OK. — What impacted me seeing it in light of our current situation –
THE FIRST IS THE COINCIDENCE OF DATES –
It was Aug. 26th, 1920, that the amendment became law. GUESS WHERE MANY OF US WILL BE ON AUG. 26 THIS YEAR. I think marking the 88th anniversary would be awesome for the march — and something we could urge the DNC to do on the floor. The point being that 88 years ago women got the right to vote. Now we can’t get our votes counted.
also the symbols of the passage –
The final state vote to pass it was in Tenn. on Aug. 18 — itself a great story about 1 man who’s Mom got him to support it and it passed by one vote. All the legisators wore roses indicating their stand — yellow for supporters; red for opposition. In a true and dramatic moment, this one legislator rips off his red rose to support it. HOW ABOUT A THEME OF YELLOW ROSES FOR THE MARCH AND FOR US PUMAs THAT WEEK. [maybe we could send red roses to DNC].
to be continued shortly …

IRON JAWED ANGELS , [pt. 3 from post 437] — and the end.
Other similarties between the suffrage movement around 1920 and us today–
1. The movement was split between cautious women who wanted to be friends with Pres. Wilson so he would propose an amendment. And the activist group that took many non-violent actions to keep it before the public. The activists were greatly criticized for not supporting Wilson’s re-election in 1916. The activist women said they would not support ANY party that didn’t support an amendment to give women the vote.
this is important. Most of the other women and most Dems. were very critical of the activists saying WE ALL HAVE TO SUPPORT THE DEMS TO SUPPORT ALL OUR OTHER ISSUES — LIKE PEACE. The activists said some 1920’s version of ‘P-U-M-A.’
2. When the war broke out, the Pres. told the women they had a great issue, but had to be on back burner while they fought a war to give democratic rights to other nations. Of course those pre-PUMAs got even more active and really brutal — their primary tactic being to read Wilson’s own statements about democracy and freedom that he was fighting a war over — and that half of his own country didn’t have. They read his statements and then burned them in a big bonfire in front of the white house. [could we have a bonfire in Denver, I wonder, to read and burn DNC statements .. following the steps of our beloved pre -PUMAs in the suffrage movement.]
3. It was the pressure of the women’s actions in the midst of war that finally got Wilson to propose it and encourage its passage.
Who doesn’t say good things about Women’s Suffrage today. So, let’s point out that women might not be voting yet except for the movement’s refusal to support a Democratic party that didn’t support them in 1916. [e.g. PUMA].
I think some great actions could be done around how we haven’t finished the battle yet — women are still not fully enfranchised 88 years later. And today we are using EXACTLY the same historic non-violent actions that got us a suffrage amendment Maybe we need an amendment to enfranchise voters in caucus states and to get all votes to be counted.
Maryland Puma;
I sent you a letterhead but am not sure if you received it
I have had to work all day and just got a chance to log in. What tremendous ideas and support came from the Puma’s today. I did manage to budget a little money and sent it into Puma and also sent a little to Hillary with a card. Also I would be very proud to sign a letter from the Puma Democratics to her. Knowville puma asked if any one had an address for DNP. I have one for the Democratic National Committee if that is any help
it is:
Democratic National Committee,
430 S. Capitol St. SE,
Washington, DC 20003
I got an email from them yesterday and sent a puma check in a pink envelope this time with no return address, along with one of my notes saying that I can not support your candidates and why. I figure they can not delete a pink envelope and will open it because well you get my drift.
You all have a good night and Take care and be safe
I met a lot of nice Canadians in Vegas in Nov and they were so nice to chat with. Very friendly.
TrishfromCanada, I was so happy to see a reporter actually printing the facts without as someone said putting “lipstick” on it.
Our family hit the NONAME snail-mail trifecta today. One letter from NoName (chicago return address), one from the infamous Howard at the DNC and one from our local (very hapless) state Dem Party. We very much enjoyed drafting our response to each, and are returning the postage-paid envelopes (sans $$$), with our thoughts. Now that our family are all Independents, we find it amazing that the DEMs still keep sending us this junk mail. Can’t be helping Jr’s fund-raising efforts!
August is not that far away.
WE need to start planning now if we are going to Denver.
Via email through Murphy–we can find out what’s up with hotels in Denver–so it’s not here for Jr’s trolls.
Bottomline–we need to think ahead to Denver…we need to be there to be heard…
#121 ShortTermer
Yes that was very nice to see, we have biased reporters here as well, but that guy was good
Goodnight Pumas,
My Shih Tzus say it’s that time.
Ok–maybe Denver is planned through Murphy via email-=-but we have to get gong on that asap!
night antifish, sweet dreams
#95 Shorttermer – thanks for posting that article. Really good!
night antifish!
I agree it should be planned via Murphy email. YOu can get some good deals on priceline or hotwire for hotels and then have places to meet.
It would be nice to surprise the DNC with our presence
Denver or bust. I ordered the movie Iron Jawed Angels from HBO and am waiting with baited breath until it comes in. I also ordered for my husband’s birthday the John Adams chronicles. I have really liked Abigail Adams since a little girl.
Exactly about Suffrage. It was the ones with grit and passion that made the real changes, and there are a lot of parallels with us and our cause. On my daughter’s other family side, she has inherited photos from that side and one is a photo of her ancestor who is in a wheelchair at a Suffragette meeting probably in TN since they lived in TN.
Trish– we spent some great time horseback riding in Elnora and Banff,AB a couple of years ago. Also made a big driving trip up through Jasper, Edmonton and back to Calgary. Beautiful country. Eh!
We hope to visit Quebec next year.
i think you’d all have a great time
#116 goandersen – brilliant:

I am sorry if that long article posted twice; I did not think it would go through the first time since it showed as being in moderation.
Have any of you checked out other sites? Confluence has consistently good and strong messages, does anyone know the member count?
Evy, why don’t you take the project and arrange a chat with like-minded pumas and send murphy the information.
Murphy is overloaded with things going on in the background (tshirts, mugs, new website, sister sites, fundraising, moderating, mom, wife, and fielding my emails LOL)
This about the Chicago Ad:
I just got this email. Pass it on

#132 shorttermer – I love Abigail too! I read David McCollough’s biography on John Adams, and the letters between the couple were wonderful. I really admire John Adams after reading the book.
#137 maryland puma to evy – I second that emotion, rock on evy!
#135 Dragonfly
Almost the same difference huh ? Rather than going forward we are going backwards in time. We need to step up to the plate and not let what all of those women accomplished go down the drain.
#138 wtf? scratch that.
I just received this email:
If there is anyone out there who could come to Wellington, Tx and help me I would appreciate it. This thing has gotten way to big for just one person. There is so many good ideas floating aournd out there that I would love to do, but don’t ahve the time.
So if you would like to come to Texas for the next few months, reply to this email. Include your name and phone number so that I can call you.
Please keep giving to the ad, we are almost 1/2 way there now. We must get this ad printed before it is too late. Everyone is saying that we don’t exist and people are leaving Hillary and going to Obama. We have to prove that we are real and we are here. Once that ad hits, all hell is going to break loose, every new media in this country will be on it. We can then stop the slide and start going back up hill.
Thanks all info@hcsfjl.com
Me, too. I did not catch your last post goanderson, what about the Chicago ad?
Hi Dragonfly,
I’m glad to see you back.
#116 goandersen – theme of yellow roses – I LOVE it. Yellow rose was my mother’s favorite flower. She was a rebel – she would have loved this pac!
thanks, sheila7! I missed so much. I am wondering how I will get caught up! I really enjoy reading the blog comments.
I have some info that may surprise you about women’s right to vote. It is SO relevant to our situation that it will blow your mind. I’ll post my term paper in next post.
I believe in that ad if it came from hcsfjm. That is the kind of ad that is needed and will work; can we help Ed Hale with this ad; he is at such a level of frustration right now. I wonder if a number of these splinter group would coalesce to form one big group so that projects could get funded?
#142 goandersen – which ad? the one we are talking about doing or is there another site with another ad we need to look at?
Tennessee Certificate of Ratification of the 19th Amendment
August 24, 1920
In June, 1919, the long battle for Women’s Suffrage surged forward with a stunning victory as the 66th U. S. Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, giving women the right to vote in political elections. One hurdle remained—ratification of the Amendment by three-fourths of the states. Illinois, Michigan and Washington led the charge for ratification, and by August, 1920, thirty-two additional states had followed their lead. All eyes focused on Tennessee, the last state necessary to achieve the 36 state ratifications needed to pass the Amendment into law.
On August 18, 1920, 96 members of the lower House of Tennessee Legislature voted on a motion to table the resolution. The resulting tie, 48-48, forced a vote on a motion to concur. The chamber erupted into chaos as both sides expected no defectors, therefore another tied vote and defeat. After much debate, the role was finally called for concurrence. After 48 pro-suffrage votes, one short of the majority, Representative Harry T. Burns (R), of McMinn County became the center of attention. Anti-suffragists smirked and goaded the pro-suffragists, knowing that Rep. Burns had consistently voted against the ratification. What no one knew was that Rep. Burns had just received a letter from his mother:
“Dear Son:
Hurrah and vote for suffrage! Don’t keep them in doubt! I notice some of the speeches against. They were bitter. I have been watching to see how you stood, but have not noticed anything yet. Don’t forget to be a good boy and help Mrs. Catt put the ‘rat’ in ratification.
Your mother”
Fingering his mother’s letter in his pocket, Rep. Burns took a deep breath, looked around, and said “aye.” Pandemonium broke loose as the vote tallied to 49 for, 47 against, and Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment. The next day, Rep. Burns was called before the House to explain his change of heart. Rep. Burns responded: “I know that a mother’s advice is always safest for her boy to follow, and my mother wanted me to vote for the ratification.”
On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment, women’s right to vote, became law.
The Tennessee Certificate of Ratification of the 19th Amendment, signed by A. H. Roberts, Governor of Tennessee, is one of the most important documents in women’s history. Without the vote of Rep. Burns and the subsequent ratification by Tennessee, women would have once again suffered defeat, and the fight for inclusion regardless of sex would have died a noisy death or still be embroiled in battle today. The ratification passed into law an Amendment that not only acts as a catalyst and base for equal rights regardless of color, religion, sex, etc., but offers up irrefutable proof to our nation’s voters that one single state or one single vote can affect history.
Increased knowledge of this document, and it’s history, would be a strong message to all non-white, non-male voters to honor the sacrifices and struggles of those that fought for us by exercising their right to vote.
#147 maryland puma – sounds cool! looking forward to your paper.
#143 ShortT
See #142
Ok. I will email Murphy with info. I heard that Hill’s campaign had lots of hotel rooms booked that she won’t need. I will do some research–I have some experience in booking hotels for conferences- and email Murphy with what I find. Even if we have to book hotel rooms right outside of Denver–and we find different rates–we need to start at least calculating how feasible this is. Via Murphy having our emails–we can get the info out to all of us pumas registered on this blog and we can move forward with plans for whose up to go to Denver…
#146 dragonfly,
I think you would be up all night trying to catch up. Basically, we are starting to get more money and hopefully we’ll be able to do some kind of advertising. Myself and some others are working on prices for newspaper ads (very expensive) and we are trying to raise enough for one of those ads in the previous thread, i think the first one. thanks to minivee for gathering all of the newspaper info for the swing states.
maryland puma – did you see the bit about the yellow roses v. red roses?
#149 Dragonfly
go to http://www.hcsfj.org I think to see the ad for Chicago
Evy
I will add PUMAS TO DENVER to the project list with you as the contact person.
Will you please email me with an edress I can post for other PUMAs to contact you?
Thanks,
Maryland PUMA
#149 Dragonfly
I will have to find the link, hang on
that sounds great, sheila7. We definitely need to get ads in the papers. I also want to get some letters in to editors. that would be cheap. I wonder if we could get everyone to submit a letter to the editor of their local paper as an action item?
Yep, but I was focused on the ONE state or ONE Vote could swing a nation.
Hey I can barely stay awake so all of you take care and I’ll chat later.
Everyone sleep well
and by the way it was Elaine that posted those two posts about the roses etc……
#159 dragonfly, i think someone suggested that a while ago but it never happened and i don’t remember why or if there was a reason. it sounds like a good idea to me.
Dragonfly
google democratic party letter to the editor

MarylandPUma, I have a project started that once this is all over with, I wish to ask every woman to work with me on it. It is a site theamericanwomandotorg. It is notlive yet. But I am doing it as public service as a legacy for my daughter because I failed to teach her about suffrage, being chattel etc. I only taught her that she could be anything she wanted to be – just not President. Don’t worry she is fine. She teaches higher math at the college level and she is such a wonderful teacher; her classes fill up before anyone else’s.
It is to be written by women like us, and chronicle the struggles and triumphs. Hopefully, someone will take on the project of their state and keep the site posted with information that affects women’s lives. This is not for profit; I hoped it would catch on and some college or something would take it over and keep it longterm eventually.
Maryland Puma, when I can get back to work on it, could I post your paper there if it deals with sufferage>
Anyway keep this thought in mind; it is something that we could be proud of I think. Also, please take time when you can and go to vermontwomandotcom, I think it is dotcom it maybe dotorg. Anyway that is sort of what I have in my mind for each state, excep the vermontwoman is an online newspaper.
What do you think?
Pumas,
The newspaper project is on the Project list. Please check the list for information!

#166 – thanks for the link Maryland Puma.

ShortTermer – wonderful idea. Absolutely post it. So many people don’t know about that, only that women gained the right to vote.
I didn’t know you all were talking about a POST about roses! I thought you meant did I know of them. LOL

I HAVE BEEN WRITING LETTERS TO NEWSPAPERS. I thought other people were writing letters too.
#173 bluesgal,
i’m sure they are but that one got past me. i thought someone had said there was some kind of problem with that and then i never noticed anything more. sorry about that.
Is it curious that our Bill has not endorsed. And nObama has already changed the Presidential seal. Presumptuous nominee that he is.
Ok all, I’m off to bed. It’s 1:30 here EST.
I will be out of pocket tomorrow until around 8pm EST.
Getting away from the PC and goin to the waterpark with my daughter and her brownie troop – their reward for excellent cookie sales.
PLEASE – work on the flip-flop idea. I love it and it would make a great growl. Let me know what you come up with!
Sweet purrs everyone!
#175 shorttermer,
i can’t imagine bill will endorse. someone on the news said today that the feelings wre still very raw with bill but he would come around. pleaase! i hope he doesn’t, i will be disappointed. i was appalled when BO came out with that seal. how arrogant!
Yes, that is the AD I was talking about. Is it possible that ad could be one that we help get into the paper?
He has only collected $7,000+. If groups work together we can do big things.
RE-POST (long) —
(sorry, new thread started whilst writing, i think;)
1.08 at 12:59 am
hello all,
i’m having a bit of time trying to catch up to all the posts since we started a couple of weeks ago:) but that is a good thing–an overflow of abundance, heh.
I don’t get sound when i play the youtube videos…dunno why…this is new laptop with vista so am still getting acquainted…anyways i was able to scroll slowly and got the gist of the ads. here are my .02 cents:
Ad 1) I like a lot bc it brings in black & white hard facts, and how it links to his double speak…tho it might need to be sharpened to show just how BO’s acts are differentiated fm how HRC, JM & other politicians receive bundling, a usual thing in campaigns, fair or no. Perhaps sth targeted towards his continuous refrain that the money is ‘fm the people, of under $200′ & this is ab the cleanest money you can find, etc. If we show just how the big hitters & lobbyists maneuver their way around to make it appear a lot of the donors are ‘regular ppl, sending in their crumpled 5 dollar bills, etc, struggling to reach $100, or $200′ in their dream of Hope, etc etc…And whatever other stuff ab finances other ppl know more of than me;)
Ad #2) This is is meaningful bc it hearkens to the first salvo of a BO fan, w/ his ‘unauthorized HRC 1984 Orwellian ad, in which HRC’s face is on the screen, shattered by the hammer…;)
It also is powerful bc it really highlights how taken in by BO & his Axelrod/Plouffe hit team – esp as it connotes to students & media (which those robotic ppl in the ad could be somehow adjusted to more clearly show it is “media’ & ‘media personalities (olbermann! matthews! brazile?) AND students & well known supporters like, moveon.org, dailykos, etc….
This will bring home to general public just the extent of all their complicity, esp the media’s, in controlling these elections, to the public, who might have some suspicions but don’t know how widespread it is.
AND regarding the ENDING…I understood it if the Obama cheerleader is throwing the hammer at the screen w/ Liberty, shattering ‘Liberty’….
OR, the athlete with an HRC SHIRT throws the hammer at the screen of BO’s face, complete w/ a suitable expression (tho a *actual* photo of him, nothing that hints at photoshopping, manipulation etc, to further strengthen the ad message– & not dilute it by others’ claims of wholescale fabrication, exageration etc.
Even better–if this ad also had actual BO quotes, that could be flashed on the screen throughout the ad as appropriate to the ad flow (I didn’t get the hear the ad, or see it in ‘real time’ so i dunno if his actual quotes would fit in or not), with his face appearing at the end with the runner’s entrance???
The other is the Runner IS Lady LIBERTY, shattering BO’s face….which would get the point across without directly contrasting, and associating it with HRC–which might backfire into claiming HRC is behind it, blaming HRC for ‘underhanded tactics’ ‘not keeping her word to campaign for BO & DNC, etc’…They already don’t believe anything the Clintons say even if it is ‘the sky is blue…!’;)
To another point—Although Liberty is a great visual…just HOW are we to tie it in with BO directly??? I mean, he is in essence ‘the tired, the humble, the poor, … yearning to be set free…’ Well~~~I guess i could see the ’set free’ (fm BO brainwashing) part…but may be a bit esoteric to grasp exact relationship btn Lady Liberty & BO, media & hisfans….Can’t think of whatever else right now, in terms of iconic figures/symbols that exactly, astutely grasps the counter to whatever character/principle/etc message we want associated with BO&fans in this ad. Perhaps the “Lady Justice is Blind/Scales of Justice?” Hmm, will ponder it …
OH!!!–IF we could capture his newly rolled puff-blue ‘presidential obama seal’ campaign logo into these ad message…hee.
OK!–NOW, while these 2 ads are great, they can be blown off as ‘personalized emotions of the looong primary campaign & HRC ‘bitter’ supporters/sore losers’…..OR…So WHAT?! ‘We all know funding happens this way for politicians…OR, “neato ad, but obviously sheeer anti-BO propaganda/whoa, they really just don’t like this dude” kinda blow off….
SO. I think an AD #3(?;) with:
a) ACTUAL VIDEO or PHOTOs of CAUCUS CHEATING (especially in those swing states!!!! those state citizens know the role they will play in the election & will feel their responsibility on the election’s outcome & thus more tuned in to msgs that have credible, significant impact on who they will vote for; Whereas other areas, esp “sure” red/blue’ states might feel this info is true, but may feel it’s worthless to complain ab it in the their state)cmplaining ab it in their state” and such.
Perhaps also BO campaign intimidation, dirty tactics during primaries, his rapid fans & rampant HYPOCRISY in words vs actions (both BO & his ‘New Democrats’; Maybe even direct quotes on video fm some of these 19-20 yr old BO student fans/hit team on just exactly WHAT BO means when he says (fill in blank)
OR explain just WHAT is the DNC Platform…?
OR actual statements of vitriolic hatred/personalized, mysogenistic, utterly vile, burning HATE-filled (Brazilla’s fave comeback;), slanderous comments, put-downs of HRC, in particular, & her supporters, if needed)
b) LINE BY LINE comparison of DNC RULES & BYLAWS & how each one was interpreted *for* BO and *against* HRC, EVEN following their “Rules ARE Rules” mantra (eg, FL ad/fundraising ban violation by BO; REAL reasons he took his name–VOLUNTARILY–off MI ballot—AND explain clearly why HRC, Ickes, etc did vote for sanctions at the beginning…and WHY they later were against it, & for returning full vote rights to MI/FL…which everyone seems to dismiss as ‘just HRC acting in her own interests’ (what has BO been doing behind the scense with the committee this whole time anyways??!)
Clear, & clearly RIDICULOUS results of caucus vs primary DELEGATES distribution, based on total number of votes in caucus vis a vis primaries…and just what it means for america to vote in a prez based on these severely unbalanced primaries regulations & BO & team’s active gaming of it (it would be GR8T to get actual insider proof of BO & team planning how to game this system fm before the start of primaries, based on DNC insiders’ (Brazille? Dean? others??? (Brazille’s intimate know-how fm experience as campaign mgr of J.Jackson (after which DNC amended rules yet again) & Gore’s election results & votes/rules investigation on his behalf in 2000); (Dean’s own caucus wins in his prez run, & his online fundraising)) coaching of how to get the most delegates without winning primaries..;)
(Craig Crawford on his trailmix blog has a good post on DNC Rules & their arbitrary application, depending on whether it’s in favor for BO & against HRC);
Again, these points should be absolutely factual, even nonemotional in tone in reporting these facts, not anything that could be dismissed as hyperbolic spin/exaggerated interpretations…Of course, tone will become emotional/signifying, etc when it comes to the actual, full end-message of our ad;0)
c) SIDE BY SIDE comparison of DNC 2008 election actions with GOP 2000 actions – esp in FL;)–& shown in MI too!!!
d) EXACTLY WHAT is GOING ON inside the DNC & overthrow of ppl, platform, etc AND how DEAN, PELOSI, REID etc have spearheaded it under everyone’s nose! Including, implications of move of DNC to Chicago/Chic ‘political machine’ etc.
And/or, Raising question of just WHAT is DEAN about…? Just exactly why/how/what Dean is ‘crazy’ & how this ties in w/ DNC leadership…? (Could also include his complete total non-response to Dem Prty ‘members’ like PUMA & concerned citizens’ repeated attempts to communicate with him…Total nonaccountability, etc….Silencing of all dissent in not supporting BO; Bullying of Delegates who still support HRC now, & bullying of HRC into releasing her delegates now & using her campaign debt to control & threaten her…etc…the examples are endless!;-P
Another point-which could be included with possible Ad ideas, (d) or (e;): A full LISTING of examples of PELOSI’s (& Congress) ineffectual leadership & total pandering to self-interests…Such as all the times when Pelosi said she would ’step in’ ab the Iraq War, ’step in’ for Bush/Cheney abuse of power’ ’step in’ to initiate possible Impeachment grounds, and of course, ’step in’ to stop the primaries early if need be for BO & HRC (altho this one she actually did do sth, tho behind the scenes, out of public’s eye!) since years & years now…and STILL NADA!
ALSO that a BIG reason why no one pursued Impeachment & such bc they feared public ‘backlash’ against a trial, and of course turning away of their voters when it’s time for their re-election!!!
e) ALL SWITCHED SD, local DELEGATES LISTING/CALLING to ACCOUNT of why/when/justifications of their switching fm HRC to BO…Esp in states they are re-election!! (ie, Pelosi!!!) ) EXAMPLES, real quotes, video, transcripts of BO (supposedly ‘dem party vols’) volunteers at polling sites, phone call scripts, etc, of BO campaign intimidation towards voters (esp HRC supporters);
Underhanded moves, such as laundering donation money through moveon.org for those who’ve exceeded their indiv limit; Stealing of caucus/voter reg sheets at state local dem offices (eg, TX)
f) The Congress “Tea Party” Senators-who-lunch; Media personalities (KOlbermann, etc) & their hyperbole in re BO & against HRC….
==> KEY POINT: IF NO ONE, not even “the 4th Estate,” the Press, can bring themselves to critique BO NOW, how will we hold BO & his supporters in Congress accountable if he should be Prez??? Just how can anyone raise credible questions ab BO’s decisions, appointments, acts, hold BO & his Cabinet & unofficial cadre of advisors ACcOUNTABLe if NO ONE will/can do it NOW??? Oh sure, they said it’s difft fm primaries, now it’s the GE the gloves will come off–ha! Still waiting…!
And given all these signs just HOW is this M.O., however difft the content/intents, ANY DIFFERENT fm BUSH/CHENEY’s approach to decisions, actions, bulling of other politicians/media….
And just HOW is this time now any difft fm post 9/11 PRESS/MEDIA, who were complicit in propagating the Iraq War, with nary a critical eyebrow raised…Even Mike MOORE held Wolf/CNN & Media to fault for their lack of critical analyses/independent/investigative journalism towards Bush/Cheney during these early years of ’selling the war’ to the people!
Anyhoo, those are some ideas that will definitely hit home to the gen public, & credible bc based on straightforward documentation, which leaves media in a flummox in contesting the points, and such!
Hope it contributes in some way to those in charge of ad creation!
Thanx to all for their commitment & enthusiasm–it keeps each other going!;-)
Thanx to Murphy, MarylandPuma & all puma pride leaders;) (sorry for name blanks:-D
G’nite ALL!
goodnight marylandpuma and have fun tomorrow.
RE-POST —
P.S. – just clarifying–in AD 2: If Obama-shirt cheerleader leads the hammer-throwing….what is this msg…??? It seems in favor of BO, actually…that we, the masses, have somehow been under the spell of ‘old politics’ etc and only BO & his Hope brigade can shatter us out of our stupor…?
As for an Obama shirt runner throwing hammar at screen pic of ‘Lady Liberty’–this also doesn’t quite jibe with our intended msg=>I mean do we want to represent ‘the people/us’ as under some glazed-eyed control of Lady Liberty??!!
BUT i DO think this ad is powerful for it’s symbolic resurrection at the end of primaries on behalf of HRC–bc it is the same ad type run at the start of the primaries, but used *against* HRC, by BO ppl (o sorry, ‘it was a “rogue advertiser” in BO ad agency, acting individually, & not ‘officially’ linked to BO & team!’;)
Good nite & good wkd to all:o)

I have been pushing this for two days now, and some folks have donated. Some people didn’t even know about it. We must work together.
Did you see the email I posted from him in Texas. He needs help over there! #142
#173 SHEILA7
That’s okay. I read here that they wanted us to do that and kept on.
FLIP FLOPS, this idea coincides so well with the news article of the last few days. I was to check with the postal service today to see if they could be mailed without packaging because that would be less work and it would catch the eye of everybody who handled them.
My husband said there may be a problem with them catching on postal equipment. So, I was to post when I knew that info.
The idea is to mail flip flop to a targeted group, supers, and say something like NO FLIP FLOP FOR MY PRESIDENT or HIllARY DOES NOT FLIP FLOP, SELECT THE ELECTED.
Final thot of the nite–What the heck is DFA???!!!
WE HAVE TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS WITH THE MEDIA, & Public!!!!
This is just TOOOO manipulative & the media, being such ego-centerd, will *hate* being taken in or played like that (that is, unless they knew ab DFA all along!)
If nothing else, can at least raise serious questions as to Dean’s credibility & qualifications to be the Chair of the official DNC & conflicts of interest!!!!!
Let’s make this an action plan!!!
Nite again!
zzzzzzz….zzzzzzz
One more quick comment on the flip-flops
How bout if we write ON the flip flop an issue he has flip flopped on?
Oh ho ho!
Really goin to bed now.
And I dare you to say that three times fast……
#62 Dragonfly
Great letter but in the last paragraph it states:
“We look forward to receiving your verification that Senator Clinton’s hundreds of thousands of supporters…”
Why doesn’t this state instead:
” We look forward to receiving your verification that Senator Clinton’s millions of supporters…”
We are beyond hundreds of thousands… we are in the millions… shouldn’t that be reflected in the language?
Also — would it be a good idea to make sure media is made aware of a copy of the letter? Just asking if this would be a good strategy or not.
for everyone,
excuse my ignorance on this but is the chicago sun times a paper that gets read everywhere like the nyt or washington post. i live in a small town so i didn’t know. if it does then that’s great but if it doesn’t shouldn’t we be donating for an ad somewhere like ohio, pennsylvania, etc.? again, pardon my ignorance but please enlighten me on the matter. thanks.
goanderson one of my tasks was to go there and check him out; I got there and the man is screaming for help. I don’t want to sound critical, but his site is so hard on my eyes and fuzzy and too blinky, do I dare sugget that he change it because I would bet that he has his heart invested in it. It was not just hard to read, it was hard on my eyes just to try to read it. But that man has guts and that Ad is awesome; and he already has more than $7000 contributed – surely we could help out on that ad and ask them to help us out on the next one.
#63 cosmeta, I agree with you totally. I too believe that this man is pure evil. I believe he has had his own agenda for quite sometime now, even before the senate. His pastors understand that he has to denounce them in order to get elected, they planned it. Everyone in his church community in Chicago, understand fully his intentions. We need only go to their website to see.
All hell will break loose if this man is elected, all hell will break loose when he isn’t.
This country is in for an uprising like its never seen before, all factions, most fighting for the common good, the others steadfast Obama supporters.
It will be an us against them, I really believe it. I think that we are each so passionate about our candidates, that riots will break out in Denver.
I am afraid for this country, damned if we do, damned if we don’t. And we wont, and we will face the challenges and the consequences together.
Peace and Love

[[ Yes, true. We must fight on. The other scenario that people seem to be afraid of is when he isn’t crowned.
Riots in the streets.]]
Either way there will be riots.
- If he lost to Hillary during the Primaries
- If he loses to her at the Convention
- If he loses to McCain in the fall
- If he becomes President.
If you ask me, one of the reasons the DNC is pushing this man is because the black community already holds them hostage. It’s not all about his money. It’s about playing favorites to the base of the party. That’s why they tried to push Hillary out of the picture so soon.
There has been this massive media hush-up all these months not only about race but about vitriol. As if the media were trying to protect us from ourselves. And as an outcome they have given voice to one minority group. And deserving as the black community is, media’s silence about the vitriolic BHO supporters has fanned the flame or racism surrounding this election cycle. And this I do say, because no one has held BHO for his supporters. Hell, I don’t even know what to believe anymore because media is not researching the news, they are waiting until it comes to them through blogs and YouTube videos. I am at a point that I cannot trust media anymore. So when I read some blogs say that BHO was paying folks to blog for him, I have to wonder how much he played a part in that vitriol; and if he did, shouldn’t he be held accountable—shouldn’t they?
If I sound harsh sometimes, at least I can go to sleep at night with a clear conscience knowing that I am only one person with one opinion and not being paid by anyone to express my views. I would never be this vocal if I were being paid—never. I would be following the RULES. So all those BHO supporters that were so rude and so nasty and so vitriolic… who were they obeying?
Conclusion: Better demonstrations and rioting now at the Convention than latter and before it’s too late. And don’t get me wrong please: I am not prejudice and never had been. Matter of fact, I would have voted for Coleen Powell and in a heart beat had he ran because I thought he was a man of honor and integrity. My vision of a dream team this year was Hillary and Colleen Powell.
Note: I read today that Hillary is taking 2 weeks off and that she will not campaign for BHO until some sort of legal agreement is made for him to pay down her debt. That sounds to me like she wants to get paid for campaigning for him. If this is so, than the article that said that they are to appear together next week on the 27th is somewhat confusing.
sheila7 It depends on what your line of thought is; and it seems that all 18 million of us have thoughts on each detail, and few of them are the same. It seems to me, I forget what his reasoning may have been but I thought it sound reasoning, that running it in the Chicago paper would be acceptable; the idea would be that us “the groups” should post a copy of every ad that any group runs; and so on and so forth; and bring that ad to the other media’s attention, like the NYT, etc.
#188 – thank you for the feedback! I must have been stuck on the 300,000 person difference between *61 and HRC.
#190 ShortTermer
LOL! I know, my eyes go all funny. I am glad I am not an epileptic, I would probably have seizure!
#156
Marylandpuma
can we put his link on the action page or at least on the Link page or both??
cosmeta and Daddysdarlin, those were pretty much the truths of my research; and the youth is telling us [they are TELLING] us what they are going to do:
-if Hillary is the nominee, they will cause a civil war – now is that not incentive enough to bring our troops back home to protect us?
-if Obama is elected they are going to have a REVOLUTION- don’t you see it happening already, changing the DNC, new Presidential seal, strongarming supers and other politicians…etc
-they believe Obama a RIGHTEOUS candidate, don’t ask me why
-each and everyone of them feels EMPOWERED – just like the youth of Hitler’s Germany
-they will throw mother’s under the bus if we ruined this selection of Obama for them
Pretty picture, huh? These are not my words, these are the words of the youth that Obama has mesmerized.
I would never have worked so hard for an election if I were not scared out of my wits because our country is about to cease to exist.
#192 Cosmeta
agreed. On to Denver!
#193 shorttermer,
ok i see what you mean. if you thought it was sound reasoning i’m sure it was because so far i agree with you on other things and i seem to follow the same kind of logic as you. thanks.
#197 ShortTermer
My sentiments exactly! I am cleaning my you know whats.
Cosmeta
I agree with your letter. All this talk about rioting in the streets is bogus. This great country cannot be held hostage to fear, and it is the last reason anyone should be elected President.
#173 bluesgal – I thought you were sick and going to bed! I remember you and others talking about sending letters to papers now that you reminded me. I am just behind on doing it myself and was wondering if others had forgotten about it – might make a good reminder action alert/daily growl to include one of your letters as a sample and include the link to the source that leads you to all the us papers. I can dig it up but not in front of me now.
shorttermer and goandersen,
i agree completely. i am very scared and i am very scared for my young son. that is what motivates me in all i do. it is frustrating to me that more people don’t wake up and see it.
#197, hold on there, Shorty. He changed the presidential seal?????? how can he do that??????
#192 cosmeta
I have this to say about your statement “So when I read some blogs say that BHO was paying folks to blog for him, I have to wonder how much he played a part in that vitriol; and if he did, shouldn’t he be held accountable—shouldn’t they?”
Personally — I absolutely feel BHO is responsible — 100%. But from everything I’ve read on this man — he has a profound history of giving the orders to insight madness and then removes himself from it and has never once held “himself” accountable. So I won’t hold my breath that it will ever happen. I tend to think of Obama like the mafia G-dfather who gives the orders for a hit job to his henchmen… while he sits at home and maintains he has an alibi since he wasn’t anywhere near the scene of the crime when it occurred. Would you agree?
ok ladies, I’m going to bed.
nite all
Actually there are more than the 18 million of us.You can ad a few million that voted for him that later wished they hadn’t. Plus the ones who were cheated out of their votes. Told to go to the polls on the wrong day.
sheila7 that is because all the posters are really smart here; but you and I do seem to be on the same wavelength. I talked to my daughter tonight who still lives back home in Alabama. They knew nothing about Obama, they were already going to vote McCain. So, after I enlightened her a little bit, she will likely talk it up around the campus, etc. That is why I was so so strong about doing an ad that will JOLT the unknowing working people, the bitter people, into being as afraid as I am. I am truly, for the first time in my lifetime afraid for my country. Well, there was one time when I was in elementary and Krushchev was on the tv during somekind of talks and took his shoe off and beat it on the table in great anger and I understood every word he was saying even though I could not speak Russian. He was saying that he would bury our country.
I am quietly adding up voters for McCain. I have 2 switched over so far. I don’t harass people I just quietly take every opening I am handed. I am thinking I am going to have a “mark your ballot” party in November. In Washington most folks vote by mail. My Mom recently passed on but one thing she always did was to read up long before elections, mark her ballot and photo copy it a bunch of times. Then she would quietly urge people to vote and If they said they didn’t know how to vote for some of the more obscure races she would give them a copy of her marked ballot. She had about 20 people who looked to her each voting day for direction. I think I am going to cultivate that role for myself. An election party with lots of good food and company and ballot marking. I like quietly powerful positions.
There are more and more groups popping up all over feeling just the way we do. We will grow and grow. I am going to the convention but going to be very cautious of fighting and rioting. You know darn well there will be a lot of mean BHO people there to start trouble.
PRESIDENTIAL SEAL: Well that is my estimation of what he did. He changed the latin words to mean something like YES WE CAN; and it is my belief that will be the Presidential seal upon his theft of the Presidency.
#202 Dragonfly
I will be going to bed in a little bit. My letter, gosh, I don’t know. I’m thinking about improving it. Have you got to read MAYOR0102′s letter to her home town paper. I forgot what day she wrote it. She said she is going to let everyone know how it goes.
#211 I can’t f***ing believe it. He has no right to do that. the arrogance is so appalling I may puke right now.
We could add to our cause for protesting that we are celebrating the Aug 26 vote; I know on Hillaryis44, I think they had a post up about celebrating that day in Denver. Just remember they must be on their best behavior, troopers & policemen or whoever, because we will have cell phone, and cameras and I am sure it will be televised; and I would bet my sweet patootie that ALL THE WOMEN IN THE NATION would rise up if it was on tv that any of us had been mistreated. But, shoot, remember the good friend poem? A GOOD friend would come and bail you out of jail, but a BEST friend would be there sitting in the cell with you saying, “D@mn, that was fun!?
presidential seal- dragonfly you’ve got to see it. i just saw something on fox and they said alot of people are really upset about it. it is ridiculous. i couldn’t believe it when i first saw it. i wasn’t sure what i was looking at and then on the news later they said it was his seal or something like that. unbelievable!
#207 sandipuma! great to see you back. how are you feeling?
Dragonfly, I am the only one saying that right now. But that is what I truly believe. And did you all see the pictures of Cindy wearing a baggy shirt and baseball cap visiting a hospital overseas; while Michelle was on the view in a not convincing state of makeup, trying to be June Cleaver.
Listen as far as i am concerned and from day one when they had the very first debate i said he was evil. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that he was another Hitler. That he was a very dangerous man. His wife is exactly the same. There is no way those 2 shouls ever be in the WhiteHouse. Not for 1 minute
Hey everyone. I think I have something interesting to report about Obama’s “perceived” image.
Tonight I had a guest at my home (African America woman).
As we began to talk about the Obam-Phenom here is what was revealed:
Me: Is the Black community really that excited about him?
Her: Oh yes! We didn’t even know who he was. He just came out of nowhere!
Me: What about his political history in Chicago?
Her: What do you mean? What about it?
Me: I mean all of his political dealings with Rezko, Big Business funders, his voting history, his relative uninvolvment in issues concerning his voters?
Her: We haven’t heard anything about that stuff.
Me: You don’t know about..(I name everything thing I could think of that had been corroborated by facts)
Her: (Stunned look on face). I didn’t know that any of that was true! That was supposed to be all just people talking stuff because of the race thing. You mean its true? I knew something hasn’t felt right about him. We talk about it a lot – something’s just not right – we never really knew anything about him.
Me: Can you name one accomplishment that he has achieved — stood for – - anything for the African American community or race relations, public service even?
Her: (Long pause) No. No. Nothing.
Me: Can you name anything about Hillary Clinton that comes to mind about her qualifications?
Her: Oh! She and her husband have been around and known as a fighter for our rights ever since I can remember! I’ve known about her since I was in my 20s. Blacks have always known they have stood up, spoke out and brought a lot us to believe our votes were important!
Me: Then why? Why are blacks voting for him if they don’t know anything about him, his past, what he stands for?
Her: Because he’s black! Most of the people I know don’t really talk about the rest of it, other than where did he come from – that he came out of nowhere – like he just appeared – like he was meant to be. If we really knew the stuff about Chicago, how he got to where he was, I doubt any of us would be jumping on his train. The way it has been spreading about how racist the Clintons really were all along, most of the people I know weren’t listening to anything else but the racist stuff going on about the Clintons. It was kind of a shock and made a lot of people angry to think that they weren’t who we thought.
Me: What if his campaign wanted you to believe that just to turn you against the Clintons and get you vote?
Me: What if I told you he hired internet bloggers just to spread thos rumors and keep Hillary supporters from exposing the facts about him?
Her: That’s low-down. We have a right to know who we vote for. I have just had a bad feeling about him and now I know why. Blacks just don’t know about all of those things about his associations, record, etc. If those things are really true, we’re just voting for another white crooked politician in a half black suit.
Take it for what it’s worth. That’s what she was up against and the DNC has found a way to exploit this whole deception of his egotistical ambition. He is a token, empty suit with a lot of powerful people that will use him just like Cheney used poor bubba bush.
#208 shorttermer,
my mom has told me stories of how frightened everyone was then and she said there were drills in the school and they had to say the rosary every day for Russia. she went to catholic school obviously. i feel that threatened now for my son and i feel a great sense of foreboding.
p.s. again (heh)
Let’s consider informing even liberal blogs/press ab DFA & Dean conflicts – those that are genuinely pissed at BO’s flip on public financing…along with BO’s other flips on Iraq War & troop pullout, Israel, Hamas, etc…BO must be really aggravating the progressive left AND DFA, with his, gasp, turning all ‘clintonesque’/'old democrat’ on them now, after they worked so hard to twist everything towards his favor!!!
This is part of why we must bring the protests & actions to other parties’ attns, as Dean has shown from the very very very beginning, bf HRC even became a real threat to his plans, that he does NOT care what the Dem Pty or general public think or his responsiblities to them as Chair of their party!! He hasn’t done anything now, why hope he will?….Until & unless other far greater & unavoidable forces such as the mass public, big honcho delegates & msm call him to account…he has shown this clearly by his continued silent treatment. He doesn’t feel we are in any way a concern.
Hmm, has anyone heard more ab Arlen Spector’s interests in bringing charges to the DNC for voting infringement for MI/FL??? Perhaps the DFA & Dean’s dual actions will also add to his arguments for it, even tho Leahy is the chair of the cmte, & big time fan of BO…BUT if Spector would add the DFA stuff to his other points of contestation against the DNC Rules & Bylaws/Credentials Cmtes, he might make himself heard by MSM & other legislators!!!
Let us work an Action Plan toward encouraging Arlen Spector’s advocacy in making BO, Dean & DNC accountable for their anti-constitutional, & conflicts of interest violations in a legal case agaisnt them! (& ACLU too? ) Moreover, as a Repub & Justice Cmte minority chair, he will carry great weight to the public & msm, especially lack of personal/party motive to pursue this legal case, unlike ‘personally invested’ HRC & her supporters, ya?!:-D
U know, i consider myslef a progressive, & have always been part of much of the causes of progressive press/blogs…but I can’t be part of any of their hypocritical acts towards ‘fellow’ progressives who are also Dems & HRC supporters!!! AND esp how so much of the idealism underlying their support for these causes-while I agree with the ideals themselves-are solely unrealistic in actual implementation (that is why they are called “ideals” in the first place!;), & are intended to be a source of guidance whilst implementing actions within real institutions & laws…not to mention many of these ‘progressives’ are so privileged in their ability to pick & choose what & how they will be ‘activists’ & their lifestyles & are so far removed from the ‘masses’ and completely out-of-touch with how real institutions & external factors shape society & affect people’s lived choices, and the ‘regular person’s day-to-day lives… Their conceptualizations, their ‘empathy’ is removed, more intellectual constructs than real flesh & blood realities … ok, well that’s my lil piece tonite..this IS the last good nite tonite fm me! ;0)
Happy Dreams!
Hi Dragonfly. I feel pretty good today and no pain pills now. But tuesday i have to get more done then i will not feel to good for a week or two the doctor said. But happy to get it over with.
sandipuma, what must George Washing, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and all those brave brave solders/sailors/marines think, like my Daddy who was a hero in WWII but I never knew it during his lifetime???
It is unbelievable. Just unbelievable.
I am glad others are seeing it now because I have been saying it since day one; and I was beginning to think I was paranoid – it is not paranoia if they really are out to get you! lol
OMG… Fox news is reporting that Congress just passed a bill to extend the rights to government to tap and listen into civilian conversations. This bill was argued against for months in the past but all of a sudden got overwhelming support. Wanna bet BHO’s democrats had something to do with this so BHO can set himself up for his future power and abuses of that power?
I must attach Donna Brazile’s disclaimer to all my future posts: Please overlook any spelling or grammar errors.
#225 LOL shorttermer
#223 shorttermer
i always has a bad feeling about him from day one and so did my husband. even my husband is voting for mccain if not hillary and that is saying alot. he never votes republican as he is in a labor union and always votes democrat, but not this year. he said in the very beginning, i don’ trust this guy.
#225 LOL shorty.
wow, y’all, I checked out the seal as you suggested. hello fascism
sheila thats why we have to be strong and fight for our country and keep the maddness away and out. If the Noname people start rioting and fighting we have a lot of police power to stop them and military that will step in.
sandipuma,
i’m glad to hear your doing better and without pain pills although it seemed like you were having fun on the pain pills. just kidding, lol.
I still havn’t seen the seal. Where is it???
#224 mzebest – do you have an article link on that? I would like to learn more about it. we’re headed for a sedition act next – if you protest *61, there will be criminal penalties.
THIS QUOTE IS BRILLIANT AND SHOULD BE AN AD!!!
“If those things are really true, we’re just voting for another white crooked politician in a half black suit.”
I need to see it so i can screem myself to sleep
Can someone please tell me about “The SEAL”?
Where can I see it. I’ve been out all day and haven’t heard anything about it.
sandipuma,
if you google obamas presidential seal it will take you right to it.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/20/the-great-seal-of-obamaland/
can you access this link, sandipuma?
LOL sheila i guess i was and writing like a idiot or a mad fool
if you compare it to the presidential seal, *61 has given his eagle a little shield to wear that is his logo, and he changed the latin to roughly yes we can. actually, I might have fun looking in my old latin books to see if he screwed up his translation. but I get petty in the wee hours. I should just go to bed.
i’ll try ty
can we say, Monster Truck Ego? or Solipsism Personified or Black Hole of Vanity?
#233 ShortTermer… That’s another thing… most blacks don’t really know anyhting about his up-bringing.
Obama’s people have really done a number on this whole “image” thing.
P.S. She was really angry and meant it when she said that “half black suit”.
GOOD NIGHT, everyone. I have better be getting some sleep. See all of you tomorrow. I love reading your post. Everyone here is so great!
you were fine sandipuma, i’m just teasing you. there were a couple times when you said weeee and things like that but it was funny. good luck next week and we’ll all be thinking of you.
Let’s just say no to Obama! But, since I am kind of bearing my soul here; I am also just as afraid that our good man McCain does not have a clue as to what Obama’s tactics are and that Obama has the machinery and has bought just about everybody off, and those who would not be bought off have been strongarmed.
I am deathly afraid that Obama is making a coup of our country, and I mean right now this minute – not even waiting on the General Election.

I don’t have a link since I just heard it for the first time on TV (Fox channel) — whatever program is currently on at 11 PM Pacific Time

I think I am going to call it an evening as well. I have not gotten much sleep since I have been campaigning.
Keep me posted about the trip to Denver.
#245 shorttermer,
i share your concern and i also feel like mccain doesn’t get it. this is about way more than politics, this is about our country and i feel like something big is going to happen and i don’t like it one bit.
Well all, I have to get to bed, i need to get my son to his basketball game on time tomorrow so i can’t sleep in like i’ve been doing all week. take some comfort in knowing you are not alone.
#232 Dragonfly
I’m guessing it should hit the mainstream news articles tomorrow. Hopefully there will be a link. The news report didn’t say anything about BHO… but I’m personally making that connection since it seems odd that they reported a resistance to the bill in the last several months but all of a sudden it gets overwhelming support? Something seems terribly wrong and Obama always seems to be behind all this madness.
dragonfly,
i think wolf blitzer said he could get 6 months for it but noone will do anything about it. of course not, he is the chosen one! ok, off to bed i go. good night everyone.
OMG! I just saw “The Seal”. Jesus Christ!
WAKE UP! Surely to God the average American citizen will see through him and all of this trumped up 500 Million Dollar hype?
This is like watching Richard Simmons working out in a Red, White and Blue Tuxedo!
wontbackdown – I had the same reaction! You should check out the Bots commenting on the caucus blog for the NYT. the machine just keeps pumping out misinformation, and the bots keep on making kool-aid.
252 sheila7 – night. yep, wolf blitzer is right about the imprisonment possibility. of course, we’d have to get an indictment and a trial. as if. what will be telling is if people just blow it off. I want people in the media to question this stuff!!
#254 Dragonfly… I went back and read them… did you see the one that says: “We can rule the world!”
Did you ever think you would see a Presidential Candidate of The United States of America turn supporters into communists?
#248 Dragonfly,
Welcome back, my friend.
Here’s what I posted on the previous thread about the seal …
In my humble opinion … I’m not an attorney … Obama’s use of the “suggestive” presidential seal is in bad taste, but not actionable from a legal standpoint.
The concept is generic enough and the artwork is modified enough that does not appear to be an infringement of copyright.
The artwork is different enough that it cannot be mistaken for the presidential seal. In other words, if you received a document with that artwork on it, you would not be misled to believe it’s official correspondence from the White House. This, more than anything else, is the reason behind the law you cited.
If enough people protest, Obama may be forced to admit it’s in bad taste and to refrain from using it again. But that’s probably the worst that will happen.
YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSS that seal who does this man think he is ??? Hitler???? Does he think he will take over the world?????
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Let’s get this guy on our side.

Hi Firebelle i’m just venting i feel better now
You think we can get him
where did you all go???
hey, sandipuma. I got into a youtube. I think I need rest now though.
#260 phantomjoel – great idea. how do we do it?
looks like we are taking cat naps. night
I had a dear friend that was from Cuba.
I had heard my friend speak about the early years of how Castro began leading Cubans into believing he was the “one to save them”.
When her parents came and we all had dinner, I asked my friend about the story. She was 5 or six when it all started. Her mother began tell the story as my friend translated.
‘In the middle of the night their whole village would start the trek up into the hillside. My friend and her parents could remember looking way up in the hills and seeing torches moving up the paths from all directions.
When they arrived to the area, there was Castro speaking from 20 or 30 feet above them. She said people were crying and kneeling, worshiping him like he was a gift from God.
All of the villagers were selling everything we could to give him money and help him so he could do all the things he promised to help us.
When he came into power, not long after, all hell broke loose and the whole country went into shock. We were so deceived. He went from being our Savior to leading us into hell on earth.’ Others tried to warn us that he was evil, but we believed him. He said all of the things we wanted to hear. Cuba, as we knew it, died when he came into power.’
(Everytime I see him speak, I think of the night I heard that story)
LOL i went into wiki
I’m still here, Sandipuma. I’m just composing my thoughts to Dragonfly about her proposed letter to Nancy Pelosi. Authors have a terrible habit of editing things to death.
I sent that thing you know what i said last night/ I sent them to Murphy
But havn’t talked to her since. I hope they will help us
Tell that Pelosi good. I can’t stand her and Brazil
Dragonfly
Here’s my gut feeling about your proposed letter (post #62) to Nancy Pelosi. Although you write very well and very clearly, Nancy Pelosi and the DNC have repeatedly demonstrated that they don’t care about the concerns you’ve raised. So I fear that your letter may fall on deaf ears.
What I recommend is starting the letter by asking for what you want … confirmation that Ms. Pelosi will ensure that a roll call is taken so that all delegates can cast their votes. I don’t know enough about convention rules or election laws, but if you can cite a law, precedence, etc., that’s even better. That puts the request in a neutral light.
Your letter, as it stands now, clearly says that we’re hoping Hillary will emerge as our nominee. That’s likely to turn Ms. Pelosi off. So start from a neutral position.
Although Hillary supporters believe that “the will of the voters” is for Hillary to be our nominee, Obama supporters are just as firm in their belief that Obama represents the will of the voters. The popular vote was truly too close to name a clear winner, especially when you consider the screwy way votes were “projected” in caucus states. So I’d recommend downplaying that argument.
Instead, I might play up the fact that many votes were cast before much was known about Senator Obama and that many voters have had “buyer’s remorse” in recent months, particularly after the Reverend Wright story emerged. Delegates have a right … and a responsibility … to evaluate Senator Obama in light of new information.
And just because it’s my pet peeve, I might add that delegates have a right … and a responsibility … to evaluate Obama’s performance in upcoming debates with John McCain … assuming he doesn’t keep dodging debates. If Obama doesn’t fare well against John McCain between now and August, delegates would be wise in voting for Hillary instead. After all, the DNC can’t advance its causes if Obama loses to McCain.
Then I’d close the letter by again asking for what you want … that a roll call is taken at the convention.
Skip the stuff about us wanting to see Hillary on the ballot in November. Ms. Pelosi and the DNC don’t care about what we want, and they aren’t (currently) interested in seeing Hillary on the ballot. So write your letter in terms of what they want.
They want to win the general election even more than they want Obama as the nominee. If Obama crashes and burns between now and the convention, you’ll see the DNC scrambling for Hillary to bail them out. So write your letter as if our goal is to keep Hillary as a fallback option, the come-from-behind player who can pull out a win for the DNC if Obama loses the ball. That’s a goal and a game plan the DNC can relate to.
I will ask Murphy tomorrow if she got them ok. And i ordered two shirts today and my son is sending me $50 for another 2 shirts.
In America, Politicians are Public Servants, hired by the voters. They are supposed to be performing the will of their voters, not doing what THEY WANT TO DO.
Isn’t that amazing to reflect upon, given what is happening?
Here’s a humorous article about the “bed Democrats have made” and must now lie in.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/06/the_dems_and_their_lumpy_obama.html
#273 Firebelle Puma: They are already scranling for Hillary to bail them out. They are spinning it differently. But believe me, they are tapping her now for a reason.
If they didn’t NEED her, they would not be making these “Joint Public Appearance, Fundraising arrangements.
This is about them needing her – she has nothing to gain.
Good idea FireBelle and we know Dragonfly can sure write.
Heck you bothe can write and have great ideas
#277 Wontbackdown … So true.
However, for the time being, they can still spin it as not really needing her, but doing this for party unity. They can even spin it as giving Hillary the opportunity to restore her image and her relationships with other members of Congress. (Gag.) They pretend they’re doing Hillary a favor. That’s quite a different need than begging and groveling because they know she’s their only hope.
Everyone should be scared at the DNC because of Obamas seal for Heavens sake. More and more people will be getting scared of him. If he dosn’t fall i will eat my shirt.
Sandipuma, there’s a lot of talent in our group.
The cool thing is that Dragonfly got the ball rolling. I couldn’t have written her letter, because I’m not coming from the same place. She may or may not agree with my thoughts, but if I’ve triggered something that works for her, great.
I sent a copy of my notes to Dragonfly by email also, since it appears that she already headed for bed tonight, and I don’t want her to miss the comments.
There is a group of the 300 strongest men in the world. President Bill Clinton is one of them. They meet once a year but never does the news or anyone no when or where. I still have faith in the Clintons
I hope that this joke will make you all laugh.
An Obama supporter who was on the fringes of good died and was met at the gates of Heaven by St. Peter. “As is our custom, you will spend one day in Hell and one day in Heaven then choose where you will spend eternity.”
The newly deceased breathed a sigh of relief and answered, “I can tell you right now that I am honored to be good enough for Heaven and that is my choice.”
St. Peter shook his head in the negative and replied, “Rules are rules. Prepare for your 24 hours in Hell.”
An elevator appeared and whisked the deceased downward, then with a thud, the doors opened and he looked out upon a massive gold structure with opened gates, and there were Obama signs and supporters everywhere without one McCain anywhere. They all welcomed him and had a feast, lots of kool-aid spiked wine, and they had every wish granted instantly.
After 24 hours, the elevator appeared and he deceased waved to his friends and was whisked away upward to Heaven. There was instant calm and peace as people greeted him with a quiet nod and went about their business. For 24 hours, he heard soft music and laughter, and noticed that everyone seemed to have a job to do, a purpose to fulfill.
St. Peter appeared and said: “Well, what is your choice?” he asked. The Obama supporter smiled broadly and replied: “I appreciate quiet of Heaven, but I think I’m more suited to the good times to be had in Hell, so that’s my decision.” He replied.
St. Peter nodded and the elevator appeared. When he reached Hell and the doors opened, the Obama supporter heard screams of horror and despair, saw his friends running from strange foreign animals who chased them with torches to set them on fire.
The devil put a hand on his shoulder and said in a booming voice, “Welcome”.
What happened? Yesterday, there was a country club here and the people were having a big party.” the Obama supporter cried.
The devil glared at him, “Well, yesterday we were running for office. Today, we were elected.”
Well all tomorrow is another day and we are in it. Guess i should get some sleep
Sandipuma, I doubt the seal worries the DNC, even if it offends some Pumas.
At the risk of getting growled at by my fellow pumas, I can appreciate how the graphic artist who created it was able to use the symbolism and turn it into a suggestive new logo.
Please, Pumas, don’t pounce on me for that comment. It doesn’t represent my political views. Nor do I condone Obama for doing it. I’m speaking solely as someone with a desktop publishing background who appreciates the design process. I think Obama was awfully presumptuous, but I gotta like the artwork (sans Obama’s name, of course).

If HBO wins (God Forbid), then I might be moving to another country. (My political science teacher always joked that way about something that I said).
#284 Anonymous,
That’s hysterical. I love it. Be sure to post it again tomorrow for the pumas who are sound asleep tonight.
Hopefully Murphy got to read some of those A—–es i sent to her. LOL good one anonymous. Good night all and sweet dreams
You know what i have heard so many people say they would move and they are serious.

My degree is in Public Relations, but I DON’T LIKE IT!!! I feel that it’s unacceptable. Besides, if you think about it, what might help him with the working class was the symboll which was used on the flag of the former USSR
But if he plans what i think he plans in his head it won’t matter where you move to. So its time now to stop him.
Nighters and hugs all.

I am going to do my best to stop him. I hope that a lot of people will turn up for tomorrow’s rally in FL. I’ll keep on digging for NICE articles
What else is left to do?
#288 Firebelle PUMA
I am sorry. I don’t mean to be rude, but I CAN’T stand HBO.
#291 Anonymous
Okay, maybe “like” was the wrong word. I appreciate the simplicity of the design compared to the original. I appreciate the design process and what the graphic artist must have done to take a conceptual idea and morph it into something else.
If you want, equate it to the way I see beauty in a fire even as I hate the destruction it causes. Or chalk it up to being a bit abnormal.
Anonymous, you weren’t rude at all. I can’t stand the guy either.
Thanks for the SNL link. That was hysterical too.
WOW! fell asleep early I was so tired. Now here I am wide awake. See how long this lasts.
Anyway, about the letter to Hillary. It seems that there are opposing views on the letter with PUMA signatures on it to be delivered. So, my suggestion is those of you that wanted to sign the letter, write your own and send it to Hillary at the Senate.
This what I plan on doing: is writing my own but hand delivering it to her headquaters. (My partner wants us to go to the Senate office…too much walking!)
In my letter I am going to state three things:
1 My resolute respect and admiration for Hillary and her long term efforts on the middle class’s behalf. I going to say that I am eternally grateful for her work for women, children, and hard working men in this Country, as well as her and her husbands strides to involve the minority communities.
2: I am going to give her my understanding and support for what she now has to do, ie supporting Obama. I am going to say that I hope by doing such, she can secure a dominant place within the Democratic Party, and continue to stand for rhe failing middle class against the far right and now, the far left.
I am going to urge her to continue to strive for fiscal responsibility, border security, maintaining the sovergnty of the US by fighting the SSP (Security and Prosperity group), to continue to work for helathcare, women’s rights, honest work for honest pay, the interity of the hard working middle class, and a nation united under a common goal and not one dividied by race.
3: Finally I am going to say that with all due rspect however, I cannot follow along with voting for B. Obama and will never do so. I will simply state why: His beliefs, his values, are not reflective of mine.
Ending I will say that I will support her continued work in the Senate and will be of service as she deems necessary.
Thank you,
So, I’m doing that up tomorrow and will be dropping it off. I’ll let you know the reception
PS To avoid any conflict of interest, legal stuff etc, I’m just signing my name and address.
See ya’ll on the morrow!
#299 VA Puma
Great thoughts. Do please let us know what reception you get.
Will do. My partner still wants us to go to the Senate and is trying to make arrangements. I said if you drop me off at the door I’ll go. So we will see if it is this weekend of Mon Tues.
hey peeps!…….you know how you come up with really great ideas when you’re like doing laundry or taken a shower or whatever …? lol, well this came to me tonight: Make the Right Choice, NOT the Wright Choice. Booyah! in your face ObamaBots! hehehe….btw, check out these totally cute NObama t-shirts and stuff
http://www.cafepress.com/stophope.258825553
NoBamaEverEverEver
also, one more thought before i hit the sack…. the whole scare tactic being dangled in like a carrot by the Borg Drones (aka ObamaBots) regarding Pro-Choice Rights…. whatever Conservative Supreme Court Judge may be appointed by the GOP has to get approved by the Congress and since the Congress is controlled by the Dems, would such a nominee make it through to the bench? ….oh but wait, we’re all hear because we’ve learned the hard way that we can’t trust our party leaders. Geez, I think I just answered my own question.
YET, there are those out there who believe it could never happen (a Roe v Wade turnover).

I am glad that you enjoyed the clips. I have two more. These are both from Ellen show.

Yeeeeee Hawwwwwww…
hi silent1971
I pasted a joke about HBO in post #284. Saturday Night Live clip of Hillary’s 3:00a.m. ad a post #294. You might enjoy both of those.
OK Here is my letter to Hillary:
Senator Hillary R. Clinton;
Dear Senator Clinton,
Please allow me to state my resolute respect and admiration for you and your long term efforts on the middle class’s behalf. I am eternally grateful for your life long work for women, children, and hard working men in this Country, as well as your strides to involve the minority communities into main stream society by providing valuable tools to aid in this endeavor. I have been an ardent supporter and follower for many years, and will continue to do so with unblanched energies.
You have my support and understanding for what you now must to do: publically support Obama. You have said that you would do just that, and I am pleased that you are keeping your word and standing by your political integrity. I am going to say that I hope by doing such, you can secure a dominant place within the Democratic Party, and continue to stand for the failing middle class against the far right and now, the far left.
I urge you to continue to strive for fiscal responsibility, border security, maintaining the sovernty of the US by fighting the SSP (Security and Prosperity group), to continue to work for healthcare, women’s rights, honest work for honest pay, the integrity of the hard working middle class, the fairness lost in the NAFTA and other trade deals costing millions their American Dream after decades of work, and a nation united under a common goal and not one divided by race or financial position. I strongly believe that of all the candidates, you were the only one to bring such a balanced perspective to the Oval office, and my dreams are slightly dampened at this time.
However, with all due respect, I cannot follow the DNC blindly anymore, expecting this Party to champion my hopes and concerns as I have trusted it to do so for 40 years. The lack of character shown by Party leaders, the outright sexism and bigotry displayed, the disenfranchisement of millions of voters from two States, the slurred undertones of Black versus White, the condescending remarks about the hard working middle class and the blatant hatred for that middle class spewed over the wires, without retort or action from the DNC, displays to me only the cogent disregard of integrity to achieve a higher predetermined goal. This, to me has shamed this Party beyond that which I intend to connect with.
That being said, I need to inform you that I will not vote Barak Obama or the DNC. His, and now the DNC’s, beliefs, values, and respect for all walks of life in this great US, are not reflective of mine. The rhetoric is there: the actions are contradictory at every turn. Therefore, I cannot follow your lead in this direction.
Ending, please let me say that I support your work in the Senate and will be of service as you deem necessary.
Thank you again,
OFF TO BED AGAIN. Oh hum. I hate sleeping when there are things to do that matter!!

You are so eloquent. Wonderful letter. You even taught me a new word (cogent). I don’t think I ever heard that one before.
One quick correction … It’s Barack, not Barak. I saw a couple little punctuation errors, but nothing that interferes with the clarity of the message. If you want to address those offline, let me know. Otherwise, I won’t tinker with your fantastic letter.
Hey Firebelle, would love any help I can get. the Irish words flow, the punctuation seems to get in my way! chuckle. Yes, please do help. How can I get in touch with you?
VA PUMA …Nicely said….I only wish I could write a letter with such grace and restraint…
VA Puma, I’m happy to help. I just don’t want to be a nuisance for nitpicking.
If you just want tips, let me know, and I can email my suggestions. If you prefer that I copy and paste your letter, tweak the punctuation, then send it back to you, that’s OK too. What’s your preference?
Let’s try out my new gmail address: firebellepuma@gmail.com.
I’m emailing you now. Which ever suits you would be fine with me. Just know nothing about punctuation!!
Silent1971~ you can. just listen to your heart. anything that comes truely from your heart after some reflecion and tempering can be just as eloquent as a breese. It needs to caress to be recieved.
VA Puma, I haven’t seen an email come through yet.
Meanwhile, before I get too tired to think straight, I’m composing an email to you with my suggestions. I’ll let you edit your own letter, using whichever of my comments you think are appropriate.
Thanks. Will await. I’ll send it to you again after changes. Sorry it didn’t go through.
Go PUMAs ..United WE can do Anything..
Oh, I misspelled you address. OH well…. Just resent.
VA Puma, can you provide your email address?
Also, give me some time. You really did a great job. However, I’m going through this and giving it the same attention to detail I would give to anything I had written. Alas, I burn up a lot of time that way.
Thank you again firebelle. Just resent email with my address. Take your time. It does not have to done this morning. I do plan on taking it later today, unless I get talked into going to the Senate on Mon or tues and delivering. God I hate walking!!!
Geez~ my bed is calling agin. Long week. Off to snooze.
I have an idea for us to raise money ..but most folks thinks its crazy….PUMA… now there’s a thought..
Good morning Puma’s,
If you think the shield that Obama is using now is bad, I have a feeling that this image is what it would eventually turn into should he win the Presidency. This shows up on his website as a real quick flash in between each page. I got suspicious so I googled BarackObama’s eagle shield under images. Sure enough there it was…now this one scares me. His shield they showed on the CNN website was the eagle with just his emblem in the center. In this picture, if you notice, his emblem is over top of the one on the original Presidential shield. Also, it appears that there is an arrow running through a tattered American flag. Help me out here Puma’s. Am I getting paranoid, or does this scare you guys too?
http://obamamedia.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/obama3.png
The new, and the alternative are SPP emblems. If you look close, you will see Kennedy’s face just behind the pic. See it for what it is. This is why Obama will have nothing to do with NAFTA.
Good Morning ..Margaret..
I’ve only been to O’s website once.. to check out what the HYPE was all about..just after i went there I watched the news people spin ” thousands of NEW O supporters flock to his website”…I have’nt been back since…
I’d be fearful of anyone that tried to put themself or symbol above WeThe People
VA Puma, I’m sorry but I don’t see Kennedy’s face. Also, what does SPP stand for? I went to his website to see if he was using that new shield there. One thing I did notice also, is that you don’t see one American flag. His emblem is pasted all over the place.
ShortTermer, Great article and very interesting. It amazes me that so many people are blinded by this man. Why can’t they see through him? Since the Pumas agree with everything in this article, why don’t we write a response to the author and let him know that there are many of us out here who do not agree with the stupidity of the DNC. Perhaps we could get some exposure. It can’t hurt.
Oh Margaret, I’m sorry. I meant Kennedy was there in power, spirit, control. SPP stands for the Security and Prosperity ideology, whereby the corporate elists, under the guize of globilization and free trade, are trying to combine the countries of Canda, the US and Mexico. Hence NAFTA, the highway through America, the international court, etc. The idea is to partnership the North America into the North American Union of Canada, US and Mexico. Supposedly for security. There have been many meeetings amounst those supporting it, Bush included, with a full organizational chart and projects to be , some which have been, completed. It is a full blown attempt to negate the sovernty of each country and blend it into a union such as the European Union. It happening, it is happening fast. I’ll send more info if you are interested.
Good morning everyone!
Duh…now I get it..lol..feeling a little salty..anyway, yes, I would like more information. Is that why John McCain just spoke in Canada? I had also watched a video on youtube, of Howard Dean giving a speech for the Liberal Leadership Convention in Canada in 2006 where he was talking about the 50 state strategy and referred to a “permanent election”. my email address is lovebeacon52@hotmail.com.
Good morning Pumas.
I have to go into work this morning but I wanted to say hello. I have been reading the posts and the letters. There are some great letters.
Is there anyone PUMA from CT? I live in Groton, CT and would love to get together with another PUMA so we can pass out flyers.
VA Puma. Great letter!! I like it.
I will check back in after work. Have a good day all.
BO wants us to “just get over it.:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/06/20/obama-to-clinton-supporters-it-would-help-if-youd-just-get-over-it/
Let’s not, ok?
Slient1971, I know what you mean. I only go there when I am suspicious of what he might be up to..
Good morning to those who just signed in.
I saw a program last night and they were talking about Hillary campaigning with Nobama. One of the commentators said they thought that seeing the two of them side by side would make Hillary’s supporters more likely to support Nobama…I think if I have to see that it will just bring back the tears…I can’t even bring myself to create a visual of that one.
My husband who by the way is black said last night. Honey it is simple..he is the antichrist. you read the bible, “many will come in my name”. He (*61) wants to start “the new world order” Why is it that people especially blacks cannot see this? Are they so desperate that they really believe he is going to help them? do they think he will give them reparations, what….for the first time in my adult life I am ashamed of my race!
Well, Puma’s, I have to go for now. I have a doctors appointment this morning. (I know ! Doctors seeing patients on a Saturday!) Anyway, nothing serious. Just an upper respiratory infection..I’ll be reading through out the day…Keep up the fantastic job all of you are doing!!
#334 Margaret
Good luck at the doctor and remember to send the bill to Obama
Morning PUMAs, anyone having trouble getting to the PUMAPAC Action page?
#336 ABinNY
I was just there, I didn’t have any problems
Compare BO’s logo to the presidential seal:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/20/when-the-obama-logo-and-presidential-seal-morph/
Good morning,
Last night I showed a great friend of mine who was leaning for BO this along with a huge list of YouTube videos, etc. Before leaving he states : Forward all that stuff to me, especially that distasteful logo!”
I live in a predominately ‘staunch’ Rebublican area. Normally I keep to myself my poiltical views from them. Now feeling desparate, I am forwarding as much as I can to them. Maybe, this will help bring them to also understand that party affiliation hopefully does not involve blind faith.
Have a great day everyone, I’m off and I need to get away from the computer for awhile!
Thanks Trish, I’ll just keep trying.

No Shame! I believe that BO is exploiting African Americans who are seeking what he promised but did not deliver. The shame is all his.
There will be some good that comes off all this. Watch and just do the right thing.
prplvette85 #333-no reason to be ashamed of your race for heaven’s sake-Obama does not represent all African Americans-actually I’m not sure who the heck he represents-besides himself-I would love to have an African American president-no way him however, -wouldn’t it be awesome if an AA woman were to run for the presidency sometime-someone with some common sense and integrity
I think I should run for President, I’ll be the first female Canadian president. If Obama can cheat the system and get in for nomination I should be able to as well.
So when noname says 90% of his donations come from 1.5 million people….is he talking about total amount of monies or total amount of people donating? In other words, could it be that he ACTUALLY gets more monies from the 10% ???
We should be able to find this out. Just because he has opted for private funding….shouldn’t we under his “transparent” government concept be able to review where each and every one of those pennies comes from during the GE campaign???
#343 zephyr
I read something a few weeks ago that stated Obama refuses to provide his list of donors.
Shortermer your comment was superb.
I agree 100%. I have researched Obama in the internet and thera a lot of scary things about him. For example why does he deny being raised as a muslim? His own half brother Malik claims he was, and he has photos to probe it.
If you want more information go to:

Good morning kittens,
I was intrigued by NativeAmerican’s post about Democracy for America, founded by Howard Dean, so i looked it up. I find it extremely disturbing in that the philosophy and tactics are remarkably similar to those of the Obama campaign. Does this give further evidence of cahoots between Dean and Obama or am I imagining things? Check out the site.
http://www.democracyforamerica.com/
By the way, great posts everyone. Love the idea of advertising. I will make my contribution. We must make a difference!
Good Morning Puma’s
As my family was eating dinner last night, I had to laugh when Lou Dobbs openly degraded the rest of the media for “being in the tank” for Obama. Especially one of those networks that tend to refer to the Obama campaign as a movement instead of a political campaign. I would like to add Newsweek to that list of “movement” media outlets. Perhaps Obama had his foreign policy advisor Winnie the Pooh recommend to Newsweek that they have Goofy conduct their polling. By the way if you haven’t read Newsweek’s article on the poll then I recommend you read it before you eat; otherwise you might lose your breakfast.

Have a great weekend Pumas and remember to donate to the PumaPac site and visit the advertisers on anti-obama sites.
Good morning everyone, I have not being able to come in here for few days. This is an email I got from the organization “NOW” (National Organization For Woman) against Senator Clinton. Did any of you saw this?
“[T]here’s just something about [Hillary Clinton] that feels castrating, overbearing, and scary.”
Tucker Carlson on MSNBC
Dear Rebeca,
Last week CBS news anchor Katie Couric said, “Senator Clinton has received some of the most unfair, hostile coverage I’ve ever seen,” and ignited a firestorm among her colleagues in the media, who rushed to attack both the messenger and her message.
MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann went so far as to name Couric as The Worst Person in the World last Thursday for “her promulgation of the nonsense that Senator Clinton was a victim of pronounced sexism.”
You and I, and all of us who have been inspired by the historic presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, have been sick at heart at the unrelenting sexist smearing by the media, which has ranged from offensive to downright vile.
But the misogynists have now taken it further, and have made it clear that any woman, even from among their own ranks, who speaks out against the media’s sexism toward Hillary is herself fair game for their vicious attacks.
With your help, NOW will stand up against the sexist bullies with an expanded Campaign for Feminist Media. We are ramping up our on-going campaign that, for more than a decade, has been confronting both the media and the advertising industry over demeaning and degrading images and portrayals of women.
Your generous contribution will allow us to expand our media activism as we inaugurate the “Media Hall of Shame,” which documents the worst of the sexist media aimed at Senator Clinton during primary season, and gives activists an opportunity to Talk Back to the media.
As our campaign expands, we will continue to track the media through the General Election, and beyond — encouraging individuals to take ongoing media action as part of NOW’s Talkback Team.
We owe it to Hillary Clinton, who showed nothing but courage and dignity under fire, not to let the media treat another woman in this way ever again.
We owe it to all the women who have been inspired by Hillary to run for office themselves not to let them be subjected to the misogyny of the media.
Most of all, we owe it to ourselves, our daughters, our sisters, our mothers, not to allow a sexist media to ever discourage any woman from reaching for her dreams.
Please join with us by making a generous contribution, in honor of Hillary Clinton and the values we share, to NOW’s Media Campaign today.
I just spoke to Maggie Williams, Hillary’s campaign manager, and asked her about getting the picture of Hillary standing in the rain reproduced. I think a lot of people would buy it and help towards retiring her debt. She is going to look into it as she does not know who owns the picture. Hopefully, we can get a poster for a keepsake. I still have hope for Hillary, if not now, then in 2012.
#348 Hillgirl on 06.21.08 at 9:31 am
Hi Hillgirl — The Obama campaign is a ‘redo’ of the Dean campaign/DFA without the mistakes. During Dean’s campaign the media was amazed at the organizing and the money he brought in from the internet (& small donors). Before the infamous scream, he had tours that were rockstar-like, with tens of thousands of people showing up and chanting slogans.
The slogans used? We have the power. We can do better. Si se puede/Yes we can.
Watching Obama’s campaign has been like watching the Dean campaign, but with the media’s blessing and support, which Dean never had.
ladyhawkke #351 Hey that is a great idea! Thank you so much for asking about that-I have the picture on my desktop-I wonder if we could get it on Tshirts too?
Melinpa et al,
Thanks for the information. Isn’t that frightening? I am so appreciative for that information. Isn’t this something upon which we could capitalize–evidence? If we made a systematic comparison of the similarities mightn’t that prove the collusion to which we have been referring between the DNC and Obama? I would really be interested in that research.
On another note, someone had asked about the video of Christi Adkins on Caputo the other day,
here it is
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8yXhgVsfdSg&feature=user
Cheers,
Keep up the good fight.
I went to Hillary’s website this morning. Under comments regarding the photo album, I tried to leave a comment but it wouldn’t take. The last comment there was on the 18th but they were all pro-Hillary. Don’t know why some take and others don’t. I asked Maggie about that but she didn’t have an answer. Wonder who moderates that website?
Beca4Hillary #350-thank you for letting us know-I’ll get on their website-perhaps you could let them know about us and our work
I just saw the “presidential seal” Obama is using…yet another frightening example of indoctrination. EGO pluribus unum…
Good morning brothers and sisters, just to let you know that Obama is expected to attend a conference in Miami, FL, yes, FLORIDA, and there is already opposition to him. There is a cuban exile group, Vigilia Mambisa, that will organize a protest against Obama, because two of his campaign team intervened in the kidnapping of Elian Gonzalez, a famous case that heated Miami some years ago. The controversy is again alive, and he is being accused by the boy’s uncle of this infamous act, and saying that they do not want him as president because he would act irresponsibly. So good news, Obama will get a “warm” welcome from the cuban exile organizations in Miami, FL, the same state he first deprived of its votes, and then ignore. Isn’t it life amazing !!
#355 Hillgirl on 06.21.08 at 9:50 am
It is pretty scary when you think about it. I generally don’t like to spread or support conspiracy theories, but this old one sort of helps make sense of some of what’s happened during this campaign. When Howard Dean was competing in the primary, and Gen. Clark tossed his hat into the ring, he stole some of Howard’s supporters. People in the Dean camp were convinced that the Clintons had Gen. Clark run in order to do exactly that — take some of Dean’s support away. Again, the conspiracy talk was that Clark could take away Dean’s support, someone who was less able to mobilize voters (Kerry) would win the primary but lose the election to Bush, providing the perfect opportunity for Hillary to run this year.
Conspiracy theory with no proof, obviously, but extremely interesting in the context of why the DNC, headed by Howard Dean, would be so against Hillary.
Morning All. Morning post is up.
Take it upstairs!
#349 jrhed “movement”
BO himself calls it a “movement”. I think it was in his last video (the funding). If not that one (I cant stand the thought of watching it again) then another. But he calls this a “movement”.
#359 oscarp – hey, fellow Floridian. Glad to see you. I did not know about the Elian Gonzalez case connection. Wow. Do you have any links to stories on the connection? I am hoping to send some talking points to Elaine sometime today. I would like to include that info.
Good morning PUMAs!
oscarp, my email is dragonflypuma@gmail.com
I have been posting on hilllary’s website, and haven’t seen my comments, perhaps because I not only praise Hillary but tell the truth about Obama. I tried posting on different topics, none of them has appeared yet..someone is filtering the comments? interesting
dragonfly, I will send you the links to your email, mine is ibuyumu66@gmail.com, let me just find them. BRB
Good Morning Everyone,
I was just wanting to let you all know that I have contacted several people across the country that I know. I have people from Maine to even a person in Alaska. I had even told them that if they weren’t interested, please email it to someone that they may know who would be interested in joining our cause. Also, I was watching my local news last night, and wanted to vomit when the first BHO ad aired. John McCain has been running ads here for over a month now. I will be getting a list of newspapers together for WV and I will post them. Maybe if we all send letters, some will get printed. The newspapers tend to swing more Republican here, but they seem to be receptive to disgruntled Democrats lately.
Murphy, who has the member list? If there is anyone from West Virginia that lives near Charleston, there is a 10 day event called Festivall that began last night. The high costs of gas has put a stop on me going to just about anywhere. I just wanted to see if anyone in the area could print flyers an dpass out to the people attending Festivall.
If there is anything that I can do to help, please email me at mpayton23@yahoo.com

melinpa,
I agree, conspiracy theories without evidence are fruitless paranoia, but this one looks like it has some teeth. Just curious.
Thanks,
anytime, I will continue searching the topic.
you can google it under Obama and elian gonzalez, I sent you mor elinks just to save some time !!
This man is one SCARY dude!!! Everything he does, including having his own “Presidential Seal”!! It’s so egomanical, you know…like he says ..it’s not a campaign..it’s a movement!! Taking the DNC. to Chicago, so he can run his “movement” from there. Why is the media so blindly behind him?.I guess it’s because there’s no good pickins’ left on Hillary. There’s nothing they haven’t revealed, whether it be true or false.
Oh well, I can’t get depressed about it again..so I sent more money to pay off HC debt, and sent a letter to the three women Senators, who are taking all the credit for there checklist for change, when it was actually Hillary who was the frontrunner of ths originally back in 2006.
“Aren’t you glad to be a Democrat?” Strickland shouted. “Aren’t you really, really, really angry with George W. Bush and Dick Cheney?”
How pathetic is that!!!! Of all the people I have talked with, only one out of 20 is for NObama. Most have said they will vote McCain, even if Hillary campaigns for NObama.
But I still think Israel is going to attack Iran, with the backing of the USA and then no one on earth would want NObama for our Commander in Chief. The man has simply stepped over the edge.
the way obama is getting away with lies , seal, chicago´s politics, ETC
the ways things are going on today, nothing matters, no shame ,etc
I would think it would make no difference if AL would have been born in USA, he could have been a presidential candidate in today´s setting
hussein is a mockery to the system
