The media plays up the angle that women are angry because of what was done to Hillary, so much so that many in the public conclude that only women are angry about what was done to Hillary. Or worse: they conclude that women are angry because Hillary lost.
From your comments, it’s clear that you all clearly know the truth.
Many men are deeply devoted to Hillary and are not any less angry with the supposed leaders of the undemocratic Democratic Party and with the media for what they did to the true leader of the Democratic Party.

Today is my birthday. I only mention this since as instead of receiving gifts I feel so much better about giving instead. $25 to help bring dwon Hillary’s campaign debt and $25 here.

As for Dean, the second Dean letter for a new collective action is on the way! Elaine and I are working on the first Donna B letter. The second Dean letter will follow. As with the first Dean letter, we would want to send these all on the same day via email and fax from all across the country.
Two things need to happen in that action:
1st, THERE HAS TO BE MORE PARTICIPATION THAN THERE WAS IN THE FIRST. I think the first Dean letter was a great success, but the number of people who participate in the next Dean letter action has to increase for it to have success.
2nd, does anyone know if Dean was other emails and fax numbers other than the ones that we used last time? We want to be sure that he’s got nowhere to hide from us!

How about also sending the letters through the DNC “Contact Us” page?
Perhaps sending copies to the RNC would be a good idea too. Why not share our talking points with them?
When you are ready with that letter, would it make sense to post the blog to speciically reinforce the need for action from us as some posts did just do that? Yet, it may be timing as I had a tough time dring the work week to keep pace. Maybe post thee types of initiatives at the start of the weekend as during the work week it may be tougher for folks to take time to help in participation.

Uh oh. I hear raspberries coming from the crib. His Mom taught him how to do them. He practices a lot.
His parents are both teachers and Hillary supporters. But his Dad is in training for war this year because as part of the PA National Guard he goes to Iraq after Christmas. Clinton supporter Paula Abeles (democrat) is on Fox now and says she is supporting and campaigning for McCain because they share the same idealogy. Says she is getting harrassed because she has gone public. Obama staff has called her a racist and has been getting hate emails. However, she has also been getting some supportive emails from others. She gave out her email address asking for support, but I missed it. Perhaps we can contact Fox and get it.
Morning Joe is getting all kinds of hate emails from the O people because he’s ripping O over the broken campaign finance pledge. Maybe we need to send him some nice emails.

Just wanted to share something with who ever is on here the greatttttttttt morning. I do not get to get on here much but I am finding that there are SO many post (that is a “good thing”) but by the time I get thru them there are a hundred more. I miss alot of the stuff ppl are asking for or help with other than the regular stuff.
so:
1) I think someone (all4mygirl?) wanted ppl to get $ for ads in our local papers…..but I need to know what to say as to what type of ad we want placed.
Also which states are being considered swing states I know some of them but I hear diff about my state MN.
2) I did not see my name listed in the 2? groups of ltrs that went out about the 1,000 reasaon.
3) Knoxville – I left you a post that I was trying to get hold of the names/how voted at the DNC/BLC for FL & MI. Was also told it takes time to transcript and may not include the names just number of nay/yahs.
4) Is there a letter for ground troops to hand out because alot of the ppl I talk too do not have Internet and do we have a PO Box addy so ppl can mail donations to us.
5) Left message to murphy if ok if I revised the fold of the daily growl to go to trifold cause it allows for larger print (I want them to read every word) and fits nicely into a business #10 white envelope. Even get to put two PUMA symbols on it. Did not hear back. Will wait but I revised no wording just folding.
6) Did checking on wrist bands….found them to run from .23 to .50 each. Any color, 40 character or more wording, free shipping, embossed not printed. Thought this would be a great item to sell in our Puma Gear and good ratio for profit to help our site and actions.

I am really liking the AOl polls; since so many actual people are contributing, I think they are more representative of how people really think than the other polls you see out there. I printed out a copy for my mom to read, and she came back in the room stomping her feet, furious that the Teaparty Ten wanted Hillary to apologize to Obama. (I had to explain it was satire…) But think about it–didn’t you get that feeling at the end of the campaigns–that Obama’s folks were just indulging the little lady her time in the limelight, but they were checking their watches and tapping their feet?

Does anyone know where to begin with this? I think we need to get our “paws” in a row for this angle. The media hasn’t touched it but we all know it happened especially in the caucuses. We’ve all heard anecdotal stories but we need some real evidence that is defined as voter fraud. Then what are the penalites etc. if one campaign/candidate is found guilty of such wrongdoing? To be honest, I barely knew anything before this year’s primary about caucuses. I live in an open primary state.

The brochure is double-sided, tri-fold brochure. The picture of Clinton is the outside fold. I left the back fold basically blank except PUMA logo and website name for info to be added at a later date.

I agree wholeheartedly. Having said that, let me take a minute to throw a perspective out that I have thought a lot about. I have been utterly baffled by this election cycle. I still cannot understand how so many have bought into the “change” hoopla for a totally inexperienced, unvetted candidate. One that has had a shrewd campaign strategy and has been able to mesmerize the masses and even the DNC leaders, it seems. So I have thought… what if majority of the SD’s had all gone over to Hillary when noname had the delegate lead?? ..Even if WE know it was underhandedly acquired, there would have been a mass cry of outrage from the obots about stealing the election. Right?
Well, I think we are in a unique position now with Hillary’s campaign in “suspension”. There are probably millions of noname supporters that are seeing him being vetted right before their eyes. Have a feeling there is a lot of buyers remorse out there…especially in the early caucus states. So the point is, as we push on to the convention and protest ALL the angles, disenfranchisement, mysogyny,sexism,voter fraud, and a presumptive nominee that lacks integrity and experience etc. ….we can be hopeful that some SANITY returns to the populus and to the voting delegates at the convention. When (let’s be positive) they watch the delegate vote at the convention roll over to the rightful owner of the nomination, our own Senator Hillary Clinton, what are the obots going to say then? They will have seen all this flip-flop nonsense and maybe, just maybe they will have to concur that Hillary is the best leader for the country. She would be the ultimate in comeback kids!!! The obots won’t be able to say a thing because noname would have had his few months in the sun……getting overexposed and suffering from a bad sunburn!!!

President Nixon was forced to resign because of Watergate. The famous phrase from that investigation was “follow the money.”
To follow the money for Obama leads to such names as ACORN, Woods Fund, Joyce Foundation, and Emil Jones Jr. Why are these names important? Obama sat on the boards and “may have” directed substantial money in grants to different liberal groups such as ACORN. Why is this significant? ACORN provided campaign volunteers for Obama’s earlier political campaigns.
His ties to ACORN include running training seminars for their leadership and followers and being part of a legal team that represented them on the”motor-voter” bill.
Emil Jones Jr. was the Illinois Majority Leader in 2002. Most of the bills that Obama takes credit for passed once the Democrats took power. Jones became Obama’s mentor and “appointed Obama sponsor of virtually every high-profile piece of legislation.” In effect, Obama took credit for laws that others had fought for.
How was Jones rewarded? Obama had earmarked pet projects worth tens of millions of dollars in Jones’s Senate District. “Follow the money” is our mandate.
Yesterday, I wrote 5 letters to uncommitted superdelegates in my state. I will send the other ten letters after work.

The election is really about the People, the will of People. Democracy is a process, for those party officials who ignore again and again the will of people, would be placed in a BAD long term situation.
When you are in the position long enough, you forget how you get there, you make decision based on your own preference, listen to your young teenage kids, young daughter… you have to ask yourself how I got elected for? There many people do not understand why you do that and your image is not good in people’ mind, such as that MO Senator, every time I see her on MSNBC… How much $ she got from him?
Will of people, not fool of people and burden them for your bet. Gas/Inflation is high, many lost houses and jobs, college student had highest loan rate ever… But yet, they might still asked to contribute as they did in Primary to put him in the Office…

A suggestion re: the letters to Dean that he is refusing -
Why don’t we look on the DNC website and get a list of all DNC officers and start sending the cards to them, one by one, in a random order, until we fill up their email like we did Dean and they have to block us or whatever they do?
I also think we should start targeting those DNC people sitting on the fence, those who “went along to get along” – with some kind of a sympathetic mailing, something to let them know there are a lot of people not happy with what they’re doing….and really po’d at Dean & Co. That might help to give them a little encouragement to speak up and act to counter Dean, Pelosi, et al? i.e something to the effect, it’s not too late to stand up for democracy and do the right thing. Make the founding fathers proud…How ’bout pictures of Uncle Sam looking very displeased on a letterhead, or some other former great historical figure who fought bravely to establish freedom, democracy, etc. A little reminder for them, sprinkled with a little dose of healthy shaming….
I’m going to be in and out all day, but I’ll be checking the site periodically to see what’s going on…..

I blogged this information on a Pro*61 magazine website. However, I might email Brian Ross of ABC News and Lisa Myers of NBC with this information. They are both top investigative reporters. It was Lisa that had Obama’s realtor on record that the house and lot had to be sold together. Later the homeowner denied it, but not on camera.
Obama should have been vetted long ago. The key is finding journalists that are willing to dig deeper.

You can also see how much money the campaigns have in their coffers, how much they’ve spent, collected in short term, long term, etc.
There’s even a listing by congressman, senator,etc., how much money each one got from the DNC. That was quite enlightening. Obama’s campaign sprinkled a lot of money liberally to many colleagues. Clinton gave some too, but nowhere near as much as BO did. As they say, follow the money…..

Happy birthday CJV. I mailed my Opra cards this morning. I was disappointed that my post office did not have PUMA stamps. I am also concerned about voter fraud. I live in Missouri and always give Mccaskill a piece of my mind when I receive an e-mail from her.
At 3 o’clock last night, EWard posted a comment on Emil Jones and on Obama’s comfort-level with being the beneficiary of cronyism and corruption since the beginning of his political career. Earlier this morning (9:33am above), EWard provided some more great info.
Are there any Pumas out there who know more about Emil Jones or other BO friends who appear to have been using him for years, or just about Obama’s not-so-stellar career in Illinois before 2004 in general?

I to am worried about how voter fraud. I am in contact with a person that is gathering info for an investigation into the voter fraud that went on during the caususes and primaries for all states. I know it went on in my state of Mini -Snow-Dah!
Now with all that talk about the Chosen Ones “recruitment” programs, and some of the DNC (for now) moving to Chicago, and the Chosen Ones abilitiy to put ppl he chooses into positon – the upcoming make me even more scared.
I have one other comment about the news:
1) that the “Chosen One” and the “Chosen First Lady ” have been given a “make-over” to better prepare them to the public, their speeches, comments, actions – EXCUSE ME since when do we have to “groom” our nominees in – maybe because he was “selected” not “Elected” and now they have to “spruce” them up so that the ppl will fall in line or gasp at the thought of them in the WH…..I am gasping alright but out of “FEAR” of that thought!
2) Last week before it hit that now John Edwards is on some kind of short list as possible VP……a political stratistic(? doesn’t matter if I got it right cause it was on CNN) said the the “Chosen One” and “John Edwards” together on a ticket would – “be like a cover of a GQ magazine” OMG! and that their combined looks would be “attractive” to the woman voters! AGAIN – OMG
Well not this “SWEETIE” – NoBHO – No way, shape or form!……PERIOD
#100 campaign finance laws do not require donor information to be submitted to the FEC for small contributions. i don’t know at what point it needs to be reported, but in CA you must report anything $99 or more (for CA state finance laws). It may be $25, I can’t remember exactly.

I sent my letters to the editors in Colorado and Nevada (toss up) states. About 30 in all. Working on Montana and New Mexico next. I also emailed the state Dem parties in those states. Lots of political stuff on state Dem websites about NoName, Hillary, and McCain.
After I finish the west, I’ll work on the mid-west. Lots of toss up states there.

There is no doubt in my mind he gave her the finger. He even paused in her speech to make sure people caught it, then he smirked (audience cheered) and he went on with his speech. Subliminal like everything else he and/or the campaign does, but just barely….

DENVER (AP) – The director of volunteers for the Democratic National Convention in Denver has resigned, saying she wasn’t “empowered” to do her job.
Sondra Williams stepped down June 7. She declined to elaborate on her reasons, saying she doesn’t want to criticize the host committee.
The committee faces fundraising problems. It reported this week it is $11.6 million short of its $40.6 million goal.
Williams says her proposal for a volunteer-appreciation party at the Denver Zoo was turned down because of costs. Host committee spokesman Chris Lopez says other plans are under consideration.
Lopez says Williams set up the volunteer program well and her departure shouldn’t hurt it. He says two people who worked with her will be able to fill the gap.

That is the youtube I think I saw. Also he made sure that he did it to the side of which is where Hillary was standing at the debate. You are right with the pause so that the crowd knew what he was doing – there is even a reaction from a lady sitting in the crowd behind him that “GOT IT” and laughed and quickly whispered in the ear of the person next to her and the face on that person got it too. Can you imagine someone like that representing the United States, meeting with world leaders, etc.? A punk who gives his opponent the finger in front of cheering crowds and who brags about bringing guns and knives to the politcal process.
Where’s the zero tolerance policy? I thought even kids in elementary school get expelled or suspended for that kind of behavior? But it’s acceptible by someone seeking the highest office in the land? Someone who’s going to be Leader of the Free World?
And this guy gets compared to MLK and RFK? RFK came out in a heavily AA community after MLK had been assassinated, he was full of incredible grief, eyes full of tears and begged the people not too riot, but to keep fighting the way MLK wanted them to. Perplexing: I received another “Album” from the Hillary team (the same one) and then saw announcement that she will make her first joint-campaign appearance with BO?
What’s up with this? The delay in her getting out there with him could have about gauging her support in challenging him.
It is impossible for me to stomach her on the same stage with him. I think ultimately it really does more harm to HER image to join him than the DNC, given what I believe will ultimately happen with his supporters waking up.
He is worse than “old politics” and his ‘supporters’ are going to realize that. They aren’t really stupid, they fell for the propaganda.

Maria, I read the article about the “tea party” which women Senator’s attended. It mentioned that you took minutes and would send them to the men’s Senate group. Good for you. I had a problem with the quote by Senator McCaskill, however. Her direct statement about Senator Clinton giving an apology was a bit “catty” to say the least. I haven’t been impressed with her style and this was a bit over the top. I hope that you were not involved in this bit of sarcasm or whatever it was meant to be. I have always supported you, but please don’t get involved in that sort of sarcasm. I would appreciate a direct response to this statement by McCaskill. I am also including letter that I had composed earlier to you:

I sent snail mail to you and realize that it will take some time getting to you, but I wanted to make my case clear to you in my own handwriting. First, you are great Senator and a fantastic, respected woman. I thank you for all that you have done for the State of WA. I will continue to support you, however, you must know that I am now an Independent. I have joined PUMA (People United Means Action). I am not a bitter person as you know nor am I uneducated. But I have reach my limit with the Democratic Party. Because I am a citizen first, I must protest the DNC’s choice to disinfranchise so many voters and completely disregard the will of the people in so many ways in the past months. The last straw for me as a former Party member was the unwillingness of the Party and its “selected” nomiinee to fight against the terrible treatment of women both in the national media and within the Party itself. As a former elected official, I did receive the same type of treatment only much less pulbic than Senator Clinton. I had a place in the Party where I was able to stand up for the right of women and ability to make decisions for the people. But I increasingly have found that the Party does not want to listen. It’s not about being a sore looser and all the other names that we have been called. It’s about standing up finally to the mistreatment of women who are fully qualified. Words just don’t do it. He was just a gentle loving man with a spine of steel. He fought hard but with love and compassion that was as real as the day is long. Glad Brazile was the target of an action today since a link to an article earlier today on this thread had a timeline of misrepresentations and dirty tricks played all through the primary campaign. Donna not only led the funny stuff that went on in the RBC, but she also purposely used her position as ‘impartial’ pundit on CNN to further the phony racist charges about comments made by the Clintons. She did this over and over, distorting the words and intent long after it was clarified what the Clintons actually said. She deserves much reproach as a double dealing liar and she needs constant reminders that we know what she is.
Please consider going to CNN’s political ticker and leaving a comment to the story “Nader campaign hits Obama in new fundraising pitch.” You might note in the comment that Nader is striking at exactly the kind of unprincipled and sleazy politics of the Obama campaign that we know to be wrong. Also there’s a speech Ted Kennedy gave at RFK’s funeral – it was the eulogy. It is one of the most beautiful speeches I have ever heard, where he talks about his brother, RFK, his eyes are brimming with tears, his voice is cracking and he talks about doing what his brother would have wanted….etc. Non-violence, etc.
Then juxtapose that with BO talking about guns and knives in such a haughty, arrogant way.
I want people also to see that BO doesn’t represent what RFK stood for, or even what T. Kennedy himself believed in and stood for until this trip to hell we’re in now.

All I did was say in my letter to Martha that I was a big fan of hers and that I was even more of a fan now that I knew she supported Hillary. Ms Pelosi:
Let’s make it clear. After the traitorious fiasco that was the Democratic “primary”, and we all know what this means, I will ONLY donate to efforts to remove you, Reid, Dean, and to defeat Obama. I have withdrawn from the Democratic Party and now affiliate with Independents. Hillary Clinton may have gotten herself in the position where she has to support Obama, and it’s sad to think that her star has fallen. But this campaign has become about far more than her. Just because Obama has access to unlimited funds does not mean he will win. There are some things that cannot be bought. And there are those of us who are terrified at the idea of such a egotistical, deceitful, inexperienced person leading our nation into the next four years and dealing with all the serious issues facing us, based soley on some fantasies of change with no solid basis of doing so.

Volunteers Director for DNC Resigns

DENVER — The director of volunteers for the Democratic National Convention in Denver has resigned, saying she wasn’t “empowered” to do her job.
Sondra Williams stepped down June 7. She declined to elaborate on her reasons, saying she doesn’t want to criticize the host committee.
The committee faces fundraising problems. It reported this week it is $11.6 million short of its $40.6 million goal.
Williams says her proposal for a volunteer-appreciation party at the Denver Zoo was turned down because of costs. Host committee spokesman Chris Lopez says other plans are under consideration.
Lopez says Williams set up the volunteer program well and her departure shouldn’t hurt it. He says two people who worked with her will be able to fill the gap.

I just wanted to let you know that the Sierra Club endorsed BO today. You can read more about their endorsement by going to http://www.sierraclub.org. I have been a member of this organization for years. I received an e-mail from its director, Carl Pope, asking Sierra Club members to pledge their time to help elect BO. I will never volunteer my time to help the supposed Democratic presidential candidate and I plan on telling both the national Sierra Club office and the local one (if they ever directly ask for our services to help BO) what I think of their endorsement. I tried calling the national office to leave a message but I haven’t been able to get through.
Just wanted to let you know what was going on. They plan on using existing organization to help their cause.

My letter to the Sierra Club wasn’t as nice as yours, but we made similar points. I usually try to be as polite as possible, but this really burns me up. I have spent many hours each week volunteering for the Sierra Club these past few years trying to convince moderates and conservatives that being an environmentalist is not exclusively a left-wing thing and now they do this. They shouldn’t have endorsed him. They didn’t ask for the input of their members.
Thanks for writing them. They are probably getting an earful from many other members also.

I believe we need to remember about the endorsements coming out right now is that BO is paying for them big time. They all know he is phoney and want the money. Let them get it. The more phoney you are, the more you have to pay for endorsements. He is so phoney, that he is going to run right through that money. That money cost him his last vestigal of integrity. I believe it is very important not to be retaliatory in expressing disapproval. Keep in mind people are being intimidated as well as bribed. They need a positive alternative. What about starting a petition to Hillary Clinton, asking her to save us from this onerous situation?

Hi PUMAs-just getting on for the day and catching up on the posts. I see that some people read riverdaughter’s satire as something real. I sent the satire to my two senators (one of whom is named in the satire) to let them know that (1) being involved in the check list has hurt all women and (2) they have set back woman’s credibility in the workplace by the checklist meeting they had. I let them know that it was a satire at the beginning of my email and urged them to read through the whole thing. One of our senators is a Hillary supporter (Patty Murray) and the other one (Maria Cantwell) said she would go with whoever won although I believe she is a Hillary supporter.

Just heard a little while ago Hillary is supposed to campaign with BO probably in W., DC next week. I think they said on Friday, June 27. Bo is supposed to meet with some group on Saturday that Hillary is meeting with on Thursday. Something about donors….I kind of tune that stuff out whenever I hear anything about Hillary’s donors being asked to give to BO.
It’s troubling to think of her with BO, but then I thought, if you put the two of them together side-by-side he’s going to look like an idiot.
One thing I like about democracy is the people get to choose. It may be a dirty process but it often amazes me that in the end, often, though not always, truth wins out. It might take a good fight, but in the end, it’s kind of hard to keep truth hidden. People in democracies just don’t like to be told what to do.
So no matter how it ends up, whether she appears with him or not, its not going to sway us, may disgust us, disappoint us, make us sad, but won’t sway us. He’ll look like an idiot and it just may become all the more obvious what a huge mistake it would be let this guy walk away with something he didn’t earn and doesn’t deserve.

Just reporting in very quickly. I hope I’ll be able to catch up on everyone’s posts but work has been crazy busy and I haven’t had much computer time in the last few days.
I finished sending all my superdelegate emails in the beginning of the week (through lobbydelegates.com). I’ve had some good responses from openminded delegates and Hill supporters and some ignorant ones from some BO committeds. Lots have come back “failure” or “delayed” but it’s still worth the time and effort for the ones that do go through.

I also completed the DNC Survey that I received in the mail. That was a pleasure. Especially satisfying was answering the last question regarding how much I would be happy to contribute for the promotion of the Democratic Party, Candidate, Blahblahblah. I made a big X through the whole thing and wrote …… “You’re kidding, right?” I enclosed a copy of the letter we all emailed and faxed to Dean and I enclosed a copy of the “Notice to Change Your Voter Registration” I received when I switched from the unDemocratic Party to Independent (Unaffiliated in CT). Ratfinks.
Murph, I’ll commit to some amount. Promise. I don’t know if I can swing $100 between now and July 20, but I will do my best. Payday is next Friday. My heart’s in this and we’re all working hard for our cause – but I know $$ is desperately needed, too.
Another thought for a “friend” – remember Jane Harman, House of Rep. from California? I had a lot of respect for her support and outspokenness for Hillary during the primaries. What’s going on with her? Anyone know? I’ll check into that. I may want to send her thank you a letter. It makes me sad the way so many are caving for BO.
I’ve been out of the blogs and off these boards for the last few days for the length of time needed to update my brain. I need to find out about Dean and his efforts to block the roll call at the convention. Sigh. It’s hard to catch up – even missing a few days!

You are so right. So far it looks like nothing is happening according to plan of the DNC. When you just don’t get it, you just don’t get it. Doesn’t matter how many pretty ladies you put out there, smiling pretty and making lists….

Based on the youtube video we saw today “Obama supporter has doubts”…
1. Is one able to get proof of primaries personal voting record?
If so, I think it could be an effective TV ad if we could find real people with print outs/proof of voting record stating that they have reflected on their vote and will not vote for *61 on the GE due to A…B…C…reasons. I think it could effectively influence other *61 supporters and make them reflect about “the person” (*61).
So when noname says 90% of his donations come from 1.5 million people….is he talking about total amount of monies or total amount of people donating? In other words, could it be that he ACTUALLY gets more monies from the 10% ???
We should be able to find this out. Just because he has opted for private funding….shouldn’t we under his “transparent” government concept be able to review where each and every one of those pennies comes from during the GE campaign???

I think Dean has a separate email as governor; Pelosi has 2 – senate & speaker of house.
We also can slightly alter our own email address too.
I believe we should have been cc’ing every and all action items, letters, petitions etc to media outlets EACH time sth is sent out to Dean, Pelosi etc. AND even SHOW who is all cc’d in the mail to Dean…? Or would that somehow backfire on us…? If so, we can send out press releases each & every time we do sth, and when sth significant happens (web stats, ugly BO fan posts, etc. (kinda like when ausman sent out the copies of angry emails he got fm BO finance ppl in FL;) that got a public response fm him immediately!))
WE must also emphasize each and every time it is THEY who have and continue to be the divisive ones….And NOT bc of HRC OR ‘long hotly contested primary season’ (which also implies it is HRC fault bc she stayed in for all states so therefore the long primary ha ve caused all the ‘divisiveness’ & so will ‘just need time’ bc it was a ‘long, hard fought primary’~~~grrrr!!!!
Anyhoo, I definitelhy believe press releases should go out each and every time regardless of what we decide to do with Dean et al.

@6 points, so ‘hrc’s argument that she is more electable bc she can win these swing states has already been pounced on as a ‘aha, hrc is wrong, we don’t need her at all” stance in their reports
I am sick & tired of everyone, including the Repub ppl saying hrc ppl is only ‘white older women’ — wouldn’t the GOP benefit more by pointing out just how diverse her support base is…? of course i keep hearing this fm the msnbc ppl & that horrid women fm that horrid conservative grp,’independent women’s forum’!!!

K Olbermann said on Fri, BO & JM were tied at 46%; but over the wkd, Newsweek poll shows a huge jump for BO==56% to 30-sth% for JM!!! And he said, ‘all HRC supporters, meaning white women, also have switched huge in favor of BO, an even bigger jum,p of 20%!. aaaarrrrggggghhh!! I hope this isn’t really true, even if, as KO said as caveat this is same polling numbers at this time for Dukakis too…
Good on the intl front==there was that intl women’s election & voting rights org that said concerned ab HRC treatment on the NPR show….
Just saw on KO too, that John Cusack!!! is on a new ad for BO!!! I really like JC, & I think he is just dpoing this as a good Dem, as I don’t recall he ever did anything for BO beforehand….His ad is all ab JM as the Bush 3rd term…

Also heard the Hispanic Ntl Congress decided yesterday (at leas teh TX chapter) met this wk and all decided to make a statement of support for BO!!!! That they resented all the snide inferences ab ‘Hispanic voters won’t vote black’…What can we do to get them to keep their support of HRC or if politiaally pressured by dean & DNC then just backoff of enthusiastic support of BO…???
And the labor unions…? They are H UGE and in middle of their own inter=union struggles. HRC’s endorsed union is supposedly very powerful…enuff that even the msnbc is wondering what the union will do and if they willl ‘get on board’…!!!! the Union can do more hardhitting ads, even if they are the ‘oogie boogie 527 ads…unions are known for not pulling their punches in their ads,e tc. besides, we all know that GOP will go full force with 527s no matter what BO & moveon.org have pledged to not ‘go there to the dark side’ of 527 ads.!
And only Wolf on cnn mentioned the bizarre new campaign logo for BO, which is total rif on the official presidential seal…!!! wolf did manage to get in btn brazilla & repub comments, was that he didn’t ever recall a time when the candidate took on the presidential seal during the campaign…but it went no where, of course!

A good idea, but wouldn’t there be a privacy issue with this unless the individual volunteered this information?

I’m sure a lot has already been posted about BO’s reversal on campaign financing, but here’s my bit anyway. A piece showing how fabricated his claims are.
What’s not mentioned below is that Obama is going back on his word. He pledged earlier to take public campaign financing…but now that it seems he’s better off not to, he’s weaseling out of it.
Anything to win. Part of the new politics?

Obama announced he would become the first presidential candidate since 1972 to rely totally on private donations for his general election campaign, opting out of the system of public financing and spending limits that was put in place after the Watergate scandal.
One reason, he said, is that “John McCain’s campaign and the Republican National Committee are fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs.”
We find that to be a large exaggeration and a lame excuse. In fact, donations from PACs and lobbyists make up less than 1.7 percent of McCain’s total receipts, and they account for only about 1.1 percent of the RNC’s receipts.

I just want to thank again everyone who replied to me last night. I know I wasn’t able to respond to all of them. I’m still going through the posts made after I signed off. i heard on msnbc that bo’s flip on public financing will only hurt him if more info/acts reveal he is truly a difft person than in primaries; they stated several examples but the one caught my attn was ‘howard dean was thought crazy, then he screamed & he proved he was crazy!’
i don’t recall much bf ab whether dean was/is considered ‘crazy’ or just what exactly it is ab him they are referring to, altho it does kinda explain why a single moment of unguarded emotion in the form of a yowl/scream was such a big deal and eventually led to his downfall (I mean really, ppl, a scream? that is how one evaluates prez candi?)…i thought it was way overblown back then, but if those in the know know more ab what dean is like, and those in the know saw this scream as yet another validation of their concerns ab his ‘craziness’ and thus worked behind the scenes to derail his campaign….hmmm??

A news item on Yahoo today quotes Obama as saying Republicans will try to instill fear in voters by playing up the fact he is ‘black’. Since he is the progeny of a black father and a WHITE mother, it would seem to me that it is he, himself, who is playing this card. He talks about bipartisanship, reaching across the aisle, and bridging differences, but I’m missing the part about how.

I just got a call on my home phone from someone stating they were from “issues and answers” research organizations. The first question was my age. I interrupted her and asked if this was for *61. She said no, I asked the same of McCain and she said no. I told her my age. She asked if I was going to vote in Nov. I told her not unless Hillary is the nominee! She didn’t know what to say. she just said so your not going to vote. I told her I did not know, I cannot make a decision until after the convention. she said thanks and hung up.
So much for that research!
