Months ago I didn’t know much about Obama, but I soon grew to distrust him. He said he entered the presidential race because he saw the need for change. This has been so obvious for years. Hillary Clinton knows this and has been, and is prepared to lead us. But, this has been referred to as the “Year of the Democrat”, and BO decided to jump in line and take advantage. I HATE LINE JUMPERS. Right then I made the right moral decision to never support him, despite his speechifying, suggesting he can bring about Utopia.
While this scene did not really happen, it seems as if it must have, because it is so vivid.
Other Democrats and I are in a long line. We have been waiting for years, patiently waiting. Way up ahead, Barack Obama jumps into line. Everyone cries that he needs to get in back of the line. Barack turns and sneers at us. He stammers, “I uh I uh I …..(pause)…don’t care…(pause)…what you think.” His eyebrows bunch together and his sneer widens. I and the others lean back and gasp at his “audacity”.
Then he stutters, “For uh for uh forgive…(pause)…me. You all have been waiting…(pause)…in line all this time. Let my people give you…(pause)…a refreshing…(pause)…drink.” His sycophants mysteriously appear. They pass out grape Kool-Aid. Many in line are thirsty, and drink. Immediately they enter a long term hallucinogenic state. Oddly, they appear life-like functional. Suddenly they erupt in shouts of praise for the line jumper. Those who did not partake of the “refreshing drink” ask the drinkers why they are acting so irrational. The drinkers turn and sneer, just like their new leader.
Many swallowed the poison, but just as many did not. I did not drink. Why would I trust the drink of the sneering line jumper?
We non-drinkers were frightened. We padded away, with our tails down. Thus began our search for the Lieutenant of Hillary Clinton. Where was the Puma leader. It took us until June to find her. Her name was MURPHY. Murphy now guides us as we make forays into the Obama camps, including the biggest, called the DNC. We are getting bolder. Our Pride grows.
Now I am part of a family. I have learned much about the Upstart. I am a PUMA.
wontbackdown,
i must be doing something wrong because it won’t work for me. i can click the post number which brings me to that posting but it won’t let me click on my name. I wonder why?
not sure which thread you’re in so i pasted it over here as well.
#1 LilyMaid, All BO’s talk of “the fierce urgency of now” always got to me, not only because Obama used it as a crowd pleaser, but because they are important words of a great American. BO just ripped them off like everything else. And he never answered after saying “the fierce urgency of now” the most important questions: “right, but what have you got to offer at this important moment in our history? If the urgency is so great, then shouldn’t we be turning to someone more qualified?”
#8 Knoxville Puma
Obama pleased the crowds with his”eloquent” speaking, saying the right words, however the words are without substance. I NEVER thought his speeches were eloquent. He stammers too much and makes too many pauses in his sentences…and he often stresses every syllable in words. His pauses irritate ands grate on my nerves. Pauses should be used infrequently, and should precede something of importance.
Yes, the urgency is great, our country and the principles it is based are in peril. Rules overrule principles. Pumas know who is needed…HRC, Her Regal Clinton.
#497 (previous thread) Firebelle Puma
“I respect your position too, by the way, Brian. I can sympathize with your frustrations [re Obamabots] while feeling a little differently about the issue.”
In what way do you feel differently about the issue? Maybe we weren’t understanding each other?
lilymaid,
i agree. he is always stammering and saying uhhh. then i noticed MO also does that. what’s the deal with that? my impression is that they have to think about every word they are saying so as not to show their true selves.
knoxville,
i’m not sure but i think she means that it doesn’t bother her too much to deal with bots because her right wing boyfriend is worse and she gathers information when having discussions? i was curious about this too. is that what you meant firebelle?
The Donkey is a great symbol for the Democrats this year, don’t you think? I mean the DNC and Party leaders are acting like real ASSES. It certainly feels good to change from Democrat to INDEPENDENT. Also, the REPUBLICANS are probably laying low right now…they want to make sure OBAMA is definitely the NOMINEE at the CONVENTION before they dish the dirt on him! They always knew Hillary was going to be tougher for McCain to defeat that’s why they’ve been kind to OBAMA. They probably have tons of OCTOBER SURPRISES waiting for OBAMA. Wait and see…
#10 LilyMaid, totally agree! I think that when he starts his speechs speaking slowly, pausing, seeming almost like he doesn’t know what he wants to say, that he’s giving the crowd some foreplay. He knows damned well how to build up their energy and then release it in an orgasmic frenzy.
Now, when he speaks at a debate or press conference, when he’s not working from a script, then just how bad a speaker he really is becomes more obvious.
Another great site to post on is hcsfjm.com Hillary Clinton supporters for John McCain.
Have you noticed how Obama seems to look mad all the time. In the beginning he smiled all the time. Now he just looks plain Mad. Lol Maybe it’s us.
knoxvillepuma,
have you ever thought about it like i posted earlier? i feel like he’s so slow because he has to be really careful that he might say something stupid. i was just wondering your opinion as you seem to be pretty insightful.
Shelia. Not sure why he chose this speech pattern. His stammering makes him seem boyish, so cute and lovable. NOT TO ME, but to the gullible. He uses words of hope to appeal to those who want to feel good. He wants to romance us, cause us to become emotional and leave logic behind. The goal is to hypnotize us into not thinking. I have never been susceptible to hypnosis.
lilymaid,
i can’t believe he would seem cute , lovable or boyish to anyone. ugh! i don’t understand what is wrong with people that they can’t see through that. it is very frustrating.
#11 Knoxville PUMA … I just followed you over here too.
No biggie. I’m just less concerned about perceived “trolls” engaging in conversations with us. Maybe it comes from being misjudged at Hillary’s site during a time when I was still exploring my feelings about two unhappy choices (Obama and McCain). I was called a “troll” and told to go away. People didn’t realize how much of a Hillary supporter I was, partly because less than 2% of my posts ever got through. So I don’t want to misjudge anyone and hurt their feelings the way my feelings were hurt.
Besides, I don’t see the conversations as a distraction. I see them as an opportunity to have meaningful discussions about the issues.
I spoke to a news man at channel 3 and hopefully as soon as i feel a little better we will meet . He had not heard of us. He was surprised as he is a Hillary supporter. We need everyone to call their news stations. I will call channel 8 tomorrow. And mumble threw it after a pain med. LOL
He stammers because his head is empty and he tries to memorise everything he has been told. So with a teleprompter he is trying to talk and listen and keeps on hum and hawing.
#21 sheila7, My impression is that sometimes he’s doing it for exactly the reason you’re saying and at other times (especially when he speechifies at rallies) he’s employing a very deliberate technique that draws the crowd in, almost makes them wonder what Obama Almighty is going to say when he gets his thoughts together. And then he stirs up their emotions and wows them into ecstasy.
On the other hand, he clearly has trouble with interviews and answering media questions. Then I think there’s no art, they’re just “I hope I don’t say something totally %^&ing stupid,” which he does often enough.
Here is one thing that really bothers me about this whole big mess.
How can BO keep getting supporters? He has trotted them out on a regular basis for months and still keeps trotting them out. Didn’t I also see that AFLCIO endorsed him?
How much longer can this keep going on? With all of BO’s negatives, how can so many people and organizations still think that it is OK to support him?
Shelia, you are not gullible and resisted his romancing. The Obamamaniacs were fascinated by his speechifying and promises of Utopia. So appealing, but so unrealistic.
sandipuma,
i can’t stand it. i feel like throwing something through the tv. even if i just hear him in the background and i’m not looking at the tv i could just scream. my poor husband, i’ll scream from the other room,TURN IT OFF! i can’t stand to even hear his stammering.
Because we’ve had 8 rotten years with Bush. People will do anything to get out of this mess including getting into a bigger one unfortunately. I just tell my friends that I’ll be able to tell them “I told you so” in a year or so if you no who gets in.
Little hint for sending site emails (like the cowardly pandering women senators) that require constituent address, phone, etc: I google the hilton hotel in the capital city and use all their info.
I think there is something or some one like a group of people who has been doing this from the start. Money and i mean a lot of money involved. I think our dirty DNC is a part of it to a certain amount.
pumaindy, i’m glad someone else feels like i do. i’m not a violent person by any means but something in me just gets really fired up about him , can’t stand to look at him or listen to him.
#26 Firebelle Puma, what happened here 4 or 5 nights ago was different. These Obamabots wrote long messages asking to talk things over like reasonable people. Both of them explicitly said that they were “Obama supporters.” They weren’t here to listen to us or hear us out. They were here to defuse us. And one Puma actually apologized for calling Obamabots “Obamabots.” The next morning, I came on here and suggested a new acronym: AFOs (Adoring Fans of Obama Almighty). And then I finished my coffee and blew a fuse. They got us. “Obamabot” is a perfect was to define them. They’re like creatures in some horror movie. And if we can get the word “Obamabot” in the head of reasonable Americans, we will have armed them with a perspective (which I happen to think is the right perspective) from which to see all that they do for what it is: dishonest and sleazy.
yeah, I guess you must be right. I was assuming that other people see the evil the emanates from BO. I forget that other’s reactions to him must not be as strong as mine.
And who knows - I could be wrong.
But in any case, it’s NOBama for me. McCain for me in November unless Hillary is the nominee.
Enough colorful words from me tonight. Nite Pumas. We curl together and our growls are now nightly purrs because we have each other. Our night guards remain alert, ready to pounce on trolls. Lol. Not pleasant buggers, but tasty morsels.
This whole Barack Obama thing is such a &^%$#@! puzzle to me, I can’t figure it out, where he came from, all that bagage, no experience, no accomplishments, mean-spirited, arrogant and aggressive, hateful, divisive, insulting, negative and miserable MO who’s attempting a “makeover”, can’t figure it out, why anyone would vote for him.
Just can’t figure it out.
pumaindy- you are not wrong about him and don’t second guess yourself. i know many others like us and we wouldn’t all be wrong and get the same vibe from him.
Oh, I feel for you. Just know that you’re not alone. We kittens are there for you, purring away. Last time I was in Vegas, it was 115 degrees and the bugs were in the parking lot, turned over and dead. How can you stand the heat down there? Glad that you can communicate through the pain. Take care.
Thank you Mayor it is averaging around 108 and soon we will hit 118 but we are used to it,but when you are sick its hard and you need to stay in the air conditioning
#54 bruce555, Didn’t Obama write in his book that he is a blank slate onto which people can project their hopes? I think he has done the Left’s version of exactly the same thing that Bush did in 2000. People voted for Bush because of what they thought he represented (which was deliberately left a bit vague) rather than for what he was. What he, the selected president, has become since also has interesting comparisons with what the selected nominee has already started doing to the DNC and the now undemocratic Democratic Party.
I think Obamabot is a lot better than the term, Clintonistas that Rush L. used. Course words do hurt whether we want to admit it or not. Many people are sensitive to “labels” and I can understand that. I don’t remember who said that they wouldn’t stay, but I respect their position.
Yes, that is what I was trying to say earlier. I am absolutely dumbfounded at how he can be ‘coercing’ people and organizations support him. All I can figure is that someone somewhere knows something the rest of us don’t - because I sit here with my jaw on the floor every day.
#59 sheila7, I do, but it is absolutely imperative that we not start that conversation again. No one of us will agree 100% of the time with everything that’s said, and those who have so little in common with the consensus views have to consider going to another place. I don’t mean to sound mean, but we really can’t descend into wasting hours of our time allowing a minority view to debate with us all in an effort to change what we think. The person should have just said it once and stopped. But it literally continued for hours that day, and it was not our finest day.
I remember part of that. Frankly, though, I skip over a lot of those posts. The tremendous amount of time I spend on just this one blog is killing my productivity. It’s not a good habit for a self-employed person. And yet this election is so important that I can’t stay away from it.
Yes, I’ve seen a lot of disturbing behavior from Obama supporters. But I also know a lot of good people who voted for him in the primaries. One friend, for example, voted for Obama because she was upset that Hillary wanted to require the cervical cancer vaccine for young girls. My friend, who works in the healthcare industry, is concerned about the large percentage of drugs that are withdrawn for safety reasons within a few years of being approved and doesn’t feel the cervical cancer vaccine is a good idea.
That doesn’t make my friend an “Obamabot.” It doesn’t mean she’s “drunk the Koolaid.” She had a legitimate concern that tipped the scales for her. Of course, that was before the Reverend Wright scandal and some of the other things that have come out since.
These are the kind of people I’m willing to engage in conversations with. And as I said earlier, I don’t want to misjudge anyone the way I was misjudged. It hurt my feelings.
My feeling is I have been called a racist for just saying I won’t vote for “the one”. When you probe about issues you are called much worse. I do not care if they come in here and leave comments but do it at your own peril. The purpose of the website is pretty clear - it is not about a discussion of this issues of why to support “the one”. Most of them can not come up with a single reason to vote for him except that he is suppose to believe in the same principles as Hillary - I see no evidence of this. Hopey changey unity pony and dreams of utopia don’t exist in my world, I am a realist. In actuality, I can think of much worse things to call them then bots but refrain.
I thought that Sinclair was running NoQuarter website. He has a lot of pro-Hillary articles. Do you think it might affect us?
#2 story real quick:
Michelle Obama (MO) is getting her own campaign staff to make sure that she won’t saying anything stupid again.
HBO: “I have not had conversations with Senator Clinton because she has been getting a well-deserved vacation. And, we will be speaking I think in the next few days…certainly within the next week, and we’ll be having an ongoing conversation,” said Obama. “But if you look at my positions and Senator Clinton’s, there is not a lot of difference which is why it’s so easy for advisers, senior advisers, of Senator Clinton to support my candidacy.”
BD
P.S. I will probably change my screen name tomorrow to BD=Brain Dead
#70 sorry didn’t mean to throw out the name if you were trying not to. I just remember her sadness frustration at being considered a troll and sympathized - so her name stuck with me.
Well think about it Hillary has been very quiet and so has Bill and that tells me something. I will trust and believe they are working on something. We are talking about 2 of the strongest people in the world and very well respected.
Right on! I have friends that are voting for noname and have very valid reasons from their perspective. I just want to remember that I have reasons that are valid for me. Most true friends understand.
Firebelle - no disrepect to your friend she has a concrete reason to vote for “the one” - although privately I wonder if he has flipped on that issue yet. The fact is most moderate folks are not likely to venture onto this site trying to convince people to change their minds - they are more likely to stay on typical demo blogs. I do not go over to “the one”.com and look for a fight and expect the same respect here and other places where I blog. Especially where the purpose of the blog is quite clear.
#76 Firebelle Puma, I obviously don’t want to relive the conversation of the other day, but you have a great point. It was addressed during that conversation. I don’t think anyone here who uses the term Obamabot means that everyone who voted for Obama is a horror-movie creature. Not at all. But at the same time, the ones we’re fighting are fanatical, many of them are loud and stupid, and they push and they grab and they take and the sleaze their way off with things that aren’t theres. I want my party back, and I think that every person who had a good reason to vote for Obama should think about what they’re enabling. As for your friend, it sounds like she had a concern that she believed made it impossible to vote for Hillary. Ok. But what was it about Barack Obama that made her say “yes we can” and vote for him? There were other candidates she could have voted for.
Does anyone still hold out hope that Hillary will be the nominee in August? I am sure counting on her NOT being on the ticket as VP. For me that would be a disaster.
Hillary has to know about all of the groups under the JustSayNoDeal umbrella by now.
I sure can’t guess what her next move is going to be. I know that she promised to support BO, but she also promised to fight for all of us and for America. And supporting BO sure is in direct conflict with protecting America and all of us. She sure is in a hard position.
Just a quick thought. Maybe when Hillary will show up with HBO on the 26, President Clinton will hold a fundraiser to try to retire her debt. Do you think that could be a possibility?
In a way it is better if everyone just goes to thier repective corner and stops fighting with one another. We need to fight for issues like some of the stuff that is going on with changing the way things have been done in the democratic party. One thing I know is the change that is happening is not one I can believe in.
I’d be real surprised if Hillary and Bill did anything but support noname. Having been a long time Party member, that’s the way it goes from time past to now. The problem with them trying to do something different is that it would reflect and conflict with all the good that she has tried to do in the Senate and the positive actions that Bill has work toward in his foundation. I don’t think, bottom line, that they will hinder either one of their efforts to move forward to help people. As difficult as it is for us, its 100 times more difficult for them. We just have to support them in other ways, such as Senator Clinton’s next NY race and Bill’s work in his foundation. Whenever Senator Clinton does something in the Senate now, we have to be there for her and bring it to light for all people. We’re a voice for her, a powerful voice . Sermon over!
I do not see “the one” doing anything to help Hillary and hope she is too busy to assist him especially based on the way “the one” supporters continue to treat her. All we can do is hope that something blows up or the SD get some sense. I wonder how many arms can be twisted before thier is a revolt.
You know what bothers me the most about the so called latte, college educated, under 30 voters aka BObots is their percepcion of the election. They care so much more for how “hip” the candidate is than for how solid her/his policies, ideas and real solutions. I find it particularly disturbing when they don’t consider character as one of the most important factors in deciding who our next president will be. And the DNC and no name know this, so they keep exploiting it. The “I only sleep with Democrats” add was just it for me!
#76 Firebelle Puma,
Sorry, but the very first time I told anyone outside my family that I was voting for Hillary Clinton, the person (an Obama supporter who is otherwise a perfectly reasonable person) said, “I guess some people aren’t ready for a black president.” Translation: I’m a racist. Anyone who tries to tell me about the virtues of joining the Dark Side of the Force is an Obamabot, however well dressed they are in sheep’s clothing. There’s really not much else to say as far as I’m concerned.
pumaindy,
i want to have hope but i just don’t think it is realistic. believe me i want Hillary as the nominee as much as anyone else but i just don’t see how that’s going to happen with the control over the party by ?. not sure where this is starting from or who is really behind all of this but it is very disheartening. so, i will still hold out hope but if not then it has to be mccain for me.
Roxy do not know if you work with any of these kids but it is the way they approach everything. Managing them is not fun. They do not want to do the real work just the things that give them credit or make them look cool. So frustrating. I just wonder how long before the Kool-Aid wears off and they move onto something cooler.
Knoxville Puma (#92), Mayor0102 (#84), and Ca Moderate (#85)
Thanks for your support and your insight. I was taken aback when my friend told me she had voted for Obama because of that one issue. But, of course, I respect her choice the way I want her to respect mine. Plus, I hadn’t researched the issues enough to know what Hillary and Obama believed about the vaccine question. Nor did I know how to counter her argument, except to say that even if Hillary wanted to make the vaccine a requirement, that doesn’t mean she could get it through Congress.
As for other choices, there really weren’t any. Edwards had already dropped out by February 5. Who else was there? If there was anyone else left in the race beside Hillary and Obama, maybe my friend didn’t like his positions either. I don’t know. We didn’t get that far.
Remember, many people are having “buyer’s remorse” now that more information has come out about Obama. So I can’t fault friends who thought Obama was a reasonable choice back before we knew as much as we know today.
I posted a long item several days ago that expressed how I feel these days. I am just plain scared for our country and our freedom.
I watch in horror as
- Our freedom of speech is suppressed
- Voter registration fraud occurs
- The MSM lies and manipulates
- BO’s associates and relatives keep being discovered
Yet nothing has stopped this person yet.
I keep wondering when I will wake up and everything will be OK.
This PUMA site is the only thing keeping me sane. You guys are great!
What amazes me is the number of people I talk to that are closeted Hillary supporters. Really makes me wonder if the polls are right or like most of the primaries when folks get in the ballot box and not facing being called a racist they will vote their conscience.
Popularity does fade, but will it fade fast enough? That’s the question. In the meantime, we just keep telling our story as PUMAs. Some of the most beautiful plants (roses) have thorns for a reason. So let’s be those thorns.
#94 pumaindy, I seriously doubt Hillary would ever agree to become BO’s running mate. She knew that he was too unqualified and inexperienced from the beginning and was most likely angry that supposed party leaders were enabling him and pushing his candidacy forward. Why? Not only because he was and is too unqualified and inexperienced, but also because not one of these supposed party leaders had even heard of him before he gave his pretty speech at the 2004 convention. He’s too unknown, and the supposed party leaders are gambling with the 2008, and election for which there was one of the best candidates that the party has had run in many years and an election that the Democratic nominee should be kicking a$$ in rather than fighting over supposed “new map” swing states to find a way to lose Ohio and Florida and yet still win the electoral votes. It ain’t gonna happen.
As for August… something would have to cause a major implosion at the Obama campaign.
pumaindy,
i feel the same way. even my sister who i am very close to says i am too obsessed with this. she is a hillary supporter but she now says , well there’s nothing you can do so why bother. she just gives up and says well i can’t vote for bo or mccain so she will just stay home. that is fine but i just hate to see people say there is nothing you can do. if everyone said that we wouldn’t have this great country that we are fighting for now.
Lots of reflection here tonight. No trolls to eat. That’s good because I don’t need a stomach ache The late news is over and I don’t have to listen to anything about noname. So I’m off to bed. Take care everyone. New day tomorrow PUMAS. Purrrrrrrrrrrr Zzzzzzzzzzzz
I do work with these kids and I know exactly what you’re talking about. They’re the microwave kids, the just push a button generation. No hard work involved. It reminds me of the debate that Senator Clinton had with no name, Edwards and “Judas” Richardson once and she answered to their attacks about her being the status quo and them being the so called change makers and she told them: “MAKING CHANGE IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU BELIEVE, IS NOT ABOUT A SPEECH YOU MAKE, IT IS ABOUT WORKING HARD, THERE ARE 7,000 KIDS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE WHO HAVE HEALTHCARE BECAUSE I HELPED TO CREATE THE CHILDREN’S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM. THERE ARE 2,700 NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE MEMBERS WHO HAVE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE BECAUSE ON A BI-PARTISAN BASIS I PUSHED LEGISLATION THROUGH OVER THE OBJECTION OF THE PENTAGON, OVER THE THREAT OF A VETO FROM PRESIDENT BUSH. I WANT TO MAKE CHANGE BUT I’VE ALREADY MADE CHANGE, I WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE CHANGE, I’M NOT JUST RUNNING ON A PROMISE OF CHANGE, I’M RUNNING ON 35 YEARS OF CHANGE, I’M RUNNING ON HAVING TAKEN ON THE DRUG COMPANIES, AND THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES, TAKING ON THE OIL COMPANIES, SO, YOU KNOW, I THINK IT IS CLEAR THAT WHAT WE NEED IS SOMEBODY WHO CAN DELIVER CHANGE AND WE DON’T NEED TO BE RAISING THE FALSE HOPES OF OUR COUNTRY ABOUT WHAT CAN BE DELIVERED. THE BEST WAY TO KNOW WHAT CHANGE I WILL PRODUCE IS TO LOOK AT THE CHANGES THAT I’VE ALREADY MADE” These kids don’t get it. They are sooooo clue less as to the meaning of these words and that worries me. Are these the kids that “will take care” of us?!
i’m glad i have a place to vent my feelings where i know i am safe. i like to come here at night because during the day i feel so busy trying to get action items done and sometimes i just need to talk to like minded people about this.
Sheila7 what motivates me is - I feel like we are on a slippery slope and if good folks do not stand-up then we are done. I am really scared for the future - look what Baby Bush did in 8 short years. We have to do something to turn the tide - last time we where anywhere near this situation the American people had sense and voted for FDR.
I want to raise money for Hillary, but I don’t know how. I will probably look like a complete idiot if I just stopped people on the street and asked them to donate. How should I do it? I have a list of people who I called before Ohio primary (I started to call at that time), maybe I should call them and ask them to donate on Hillary’s website. PLEASE give me some ideas.
I received this today from a complete stranger. I think it is rather threatening when complete strangers write me at my private email address and with this crud. The name is probably not real, as it belongs to a tragically murdered child.:

An Open Letter to Certain White Women Who Are Threatening to Withhold Support from Obama in November:
Your Whiteness is Showing
By TIM WISE
This is an open letter to those white women who, despite their proclamations of progressivism, and supposedly because of their commitment to feminism, are threatening to withhold support from Barack Obama in November. You know who you are.
I know that it’s probably a bad time for this. Your disappointment at the electoral defeat of Senator Hillary Clinton is fresh, the sting is new, and the anger that animates many of you–who rightly point out that the media was often sexist in its treatment of the Senator–is raw, pure and justified.
That said, and despite the awkward timing, I need to ask you a few questions, and I hope you will take them in the spirit of solidarity with which they are genuinely intended. But before the questions, a statement if you don’t mind, or indeed, even if (as I suspect), you will mind it quite a bit.
First, for those of you threatening to actually vote for John McCain and to oppose Senator Obama, or to stay home in November and thereby increase the likelihood of McCain winning and Obama losing (despite the fact that the latter’s policy platform is virtually identical to Clinton’s while the former’s clearly is not), all the while claiming to be standing up for women…
For those threatening to vote for John McCain or to stay home and increase the odds of his winning (despite the fact that he once called his wife the c-word in public and is a staunch opponent of reproductive freedom and gender equity initiatives, such as comparable worth legislation), all the while claiming to be standing up for women…
For those threatening to vote for John McCain or to stay home and help ensure Barack Obama’s defeat, as a way to protest what you call Obama’s sexism (examples of which you seem to have difficulty coming up w ith), all the while claiming to be standing up for women…
Your whiteness is showing.
When I say your whiteness is showing this is what I mean: You claim that your opposition to Obama is an act of gender solidarity, in that women (and their male allies) need to stand up for women in the face of the sexist mistreatment of Clinton by the press. On this latter point–the one about the importance of standing up to the media for its often venal misogyny–you couldn’t be more correct. As the father of two young girls who will have to contend with the poison of patriarchy all their lives, or at least until such time as that system of oppression is eradicated, I will be the first to join the boycott of, or demonstration on, whatever media outlet you choose to make that point. But on the first part of the above equation–the part where you insist voting against Obama is about gender solidarity–you are, for lack of a better way to put it, completely full of crap. And what’s w orse is that at some level I suspect you know it. Voting against Senator Obama is not about gender solidarity. It is an act of white racial bonding, and it is grotesque.
If it were gender solidarity you sought, you would by definition join with your black and brown sisters come November, and do what you know good and well they are going to do, in overwhelming numbers, which is vote for Barack Obama. But no. You are threatening to vote not like other women–you know, the ones who aren’t white like you and most of your friends–but rather, like white men! Needless to say it is high irony, bordering on the outright farcical, to believe that electorally bonding with white men, so as to elect McCain, is a rational strategy for promoting feminism and challenging patriarchy. You are not thinking and acting as women, but as white people. So here’s the first question: What the hell is that about?
And you wonder why women of color have, for so long, thought (by and large) that white so-called feminists were phony as hell? Sister please…
Your threats are not about standing up for women. They are only about standing up for the feelings of white women, and more to the point, the aspirations of one white woman. So don’t kid yourself. If you wanted to make a statement about the importance of supporting a woman, you wouldn’t need to vote for John McCain, or stay home, thereby producing the same likely result–a defeat for Obama. You could always have said you were going to go out and vote for Cynthia McKinney. After all, she is a woman, running with the Green Party, and she’s progressive, and she’s a feminist. But that isn’t your threat is it? No. You’re not threatening to vote for the woman, or even the feminist woman. Rather, you are threatening to vote for the white man, and to reject not only the black man who you feel stole Clinton’s birthright, but even the black woman in the race. And I wonder why? Could it be…?
See, I told you your wh iteness was showing.
And now for a third question, and this is the biggie, so please take your time with it: How is it that you have managed to hold your nose all these years, just like a lot of us on the left, and vote for Democrats who we knew were horribly inadequate–Kerry, Gore, Clinton, Dukakis, right on down the uninspiring line–and yet, apparently can’t bring yourself to vote for Barack Obama? A man who, for all of his shortcomings (and there are several, as with all candidates put up by either of the two is surely more progressive than any of those just mentioned. And how are we to understand that refusal–this sudden line in the proverbial sand–other than as a racist slap at a black man? You will vote for white men year after year after year–and are threatening to vote for another one just to make a point–but can’t bring yourself to vote for a black man, whose political views come much closer to your own, in all likelihood, than do the views of any of the white men you’ve supported before. How, other than as an act of racism, or perhaps as evidence of political insanity, is one to interpret such a thing?
See, black folks would have sucked it up, like they’ve had to do forever, and voted for Clinton had it come down to that. Indeed, they were on board the Hillary train early on, convinced that Obama had no chance to win and hoping for change, any change, from the reactionary agenda that has been so prevalent for so long in this culture. They would have supported the white woman–hell, for many black folks, before Obama showed his mettle they were downright excited to do so–but you won’t support the black man. And yet you have the audacity to insist that it is you who are the most loyal constituency of the Democratic Party, and the one before whom Party leaders should bow down, and whose feet must be kissed?
Your whiteness is showing.
Look, I couldn’t care less about the Party personally. I left the Democrats twenty y ears ago when they told me that my activism in the Central America solidarity and South African anti-apartheid movements made me a security risk, and that I wouldn’t be able to get clearance to be in some parade with Governor Dukakis. Yeah, seriously. But for you to act as though you are the indispensible voters, the most important, the ones whose views should be pandered to, whose every whim should be the basis for Party policy, is not only absurd, it is also racist in that it, a) ignores and treats as irrelevant the much more loyal constituency of black folks, without whom no Democrat would have won anything in the past twenty years (and indeed the racial gap favoring the Democrats among blacks is about six times larger than the gender gap favoring them among white women, relative to white men); and b) demonstrates the mentality of entitlement and superiority that has been long ingrained in us as white folks–so that we believe we have the right to dictate the terms of political engagement, and to determine the outcome, and to get our way, simply because for so long we have done just that.
But that day is done, whether you like it or not, and you are now left with two, and only two choices, so consider them carefully: the first is to stand now in solidarity with your black brothers and sisters and welcome the new day, and help to push it in a truly progressive and feminist and antiracist direction, while the second is to team up with white men to try and block the new day from dawning. Feel free to choose the latter. But if you do, please don’t insult your own intelligence, or ours, by insisting that you’ve done so as a radical political act.

#106 Firebelle Puma, Again, sorry, but I can fault people who voted for a candidate in Jan or Feb whom they knew nothing about and don’t know that their remorse in March makes much of a difference. If I had to choose between not wanting to vote for one candidate because of a single issue on the one hand and, on the other, voting for a candidate I knew nothing about, then I would protest the election by not voting at all.
As far as my choice re BO having anything to do with racism, here in Tennessee we had an amazing candidate run for the U. S. Senate in 2006: an African American named Harold Ford, Jr. I went to two campaign rallies for him, spoke with him, had my picture taken with him, donated over $200 to his campaign, and was furious when he was sleazed in a horribly salacious ad. He lost. Now he’s the chair of the DLC. The day I spoke with him was one of the prouder days of my life.
anonymous,
first of all, do we still have the same rules? meaning if you gave $2300 during the primary does that still count? i assume it does since she suspended not conceded. if you didn’t max out then you could do things like, don’t laugh, a lemonade stand. some kids in my neighborhood did that and they raised $500 for the childrens hospital here in town.
I hope you are right. There is so much speculation though. The unknown for me is how important Party is over country for politicians.
I have been registered as an Independent for many years now, but I have always voted Democratic (until November 2008 that is, barring a miracle and Hillary becomes the nominee).
I am naive about how the political machine works but from listening to everyone here it seems that Party is a very big deal. I know that it is important to make alliances in Congress in order to get anything done. But it seems to me that the two-party system isn’t working very well these days. Nothing seems to get done because someone is always blocking something that someone else wants to achieve. This much I understand.
So if this is such a mess and needs to change, then I keep going back to a McCain/Clinton ticket. That would really shake things up and it would ‘unite’ the two parties. It would be a very strong coalition against BO. Both McCain and Clinton have a record of reaching across Party lines in the spirit of working for the betterment of the country.
I assume that I just don’t understand enough about why this isn’t a good idea. I figure that the general population might not accept it. And I am sure that the MSM would absolutely have a heart attack.
rockyroad - I know alot of folks over at the “clinton Democrats against Obama” group on yahoo have been getting random emails to private acctgs. They have the IP address and have reported to the person’s mail provider. They all assume a bot infiltrated the group and got the email addresses.
To me this is just another example of them not getting it. Threatening me will get you nowhere - that said it is pretty scary.
I don’t have good answers to the points you raised. My friend said that she and her colleagues had researched the candidates’ positions on healthcare. I hadn’t, so I could only assume that she knew more than I did on those issues.
Anyhow, let’s not get mired any further in this discussion. We’re both on the same side. We’re both solidly behind Hillary. And neither of us wants to see Obama as President.
I need to get some real work done tonight. And besides, the time we’re spending on this is time we’re not taking action on Hillary’s behalf. We’ve been distracted again, sadly.
Take care, my friend. We’ll chat about happier things soon.
#123 pumaindy, I wouldn’t keep my hopes up for a McCain/Clinton ticket. That definitely will not happen. What the Republican leadership did to McCain in the 2000 nomination proces is similar to what the supposed Democratic Party leadership has done to Hillary now. Fact is, Hillary will have to go through the motions of being a good team player and then pray that he loses for the good of the country.
I noticed that CNN changed their electoral map and gave PA as leaning to BO. Can this really be true. I wouldn’t think he dared to step into that state with all of those bitter people clinging to their religion and guns.
Anyone think PA is really leaning towards BO? How does CNN have the audacity to make this claim? Don’t answer this last question - it was rhetorical
pumaindy- you forgot the part about “or antipathy to people who aren’t like them”! That is my favorite part I do not mind clinging to my gun (a pump action water gun) or my religion (still figuring that out but willing to cling).
Yes it makes things better -that is why I really like it here - the action items are right up my alley and totally hilarious. I am writing my checks to “the one” and dnc now. Love sending them only half - worth the wasting of two perfectly good checks just for the laugh. I do think I will call my bank and cancel the checks as an added precaution - who knows what the dnc will do as they are hard up for cash.
I don’t know how this nomination is going to play out but things do happen during an election.
There was a situation with McGovern in the 1972 election that surprised everyone. McGovern was not only too far to the left but he also chose as a VP a man who had suffered from depression and had received electroshock treatment - Thomas Eagleton. When two weeks after they were nominated, it was discovered that Eagleton had been treated for depression McGovern said that he stood by him 1000%. A few days later Eagleton was out and a Kennedy brother-in-law Sargent Shriver (yes Maria Shriver’s father) was in.
McGovern and Shriver lost to Nixon by around 18 million popular votes and the electoral vote was 527 to 17.
Suffering from depression and undergoing treatment is not usual and I do not think it handicaps one. The problem was really 1) no one vetted Eagleton and 2) it made McGovern look weak. It sounds a bit familiar.
Things happen and delegates switch sides frequently depending on the latest news on any potential nominee.
roxy,
i can’t imagine what else because i can’t believe those things are ok with people. that’s what i mean though. it would have to be so bad for people to turn their back and i can’t imagine what that would be if these other things haven’t made people see the light.
I’d be careful with those checks if I were you….you know, with the DNC moving to no name’s campaign headquarters and all….you don’t want them to steal your identity or anything like that.
One more brief thought. I alluded to it earlier, but I’ll say it again.
I’ve made my choice for Hillary largely out of gut feel. I can’t say that I’ve researched the issues carefully. So sometimes I’m intimidated when I discuss politics with friends who have done more research than I have. That’s why I really appreciate when people on this blog take time to present the facts and the issues.
Additionally, my experiences in life are somewhat limited. So again, it can be intimidating when talking politics with friends whose perspective is different. That’s why I like getting input from people on this blog whose experiences are different from mine.
And that’s why I’ve been a little more open to substantive discussions on this blog, even though that was beyond the site’s original purpose.
ca moderate,
i believe they have copies of checks you can use in the action center. i’m not sure but i remeber something about that being said. or maybe there was just a website where you could download. i haven’t gotten to that yet but i know that’s what alot of people were doing.
I just think that everyone in the dnc is having to pay homage right now to “the one” and you just have to wonder when someone is not going to fall in line. From there it could get a ball rolling. I just can not believe that all these politico really love “the one”, they are just playing the game until they do not have to anymore.
I don’t think that I will be allowed to hold a lemonade stand. I need to do something that would be more private. Going door-to-door would be out of the question too. What else can I do?
The thing that scares me the most is that many ’somethings’ have already happened, as Roxy says.
I keep wondering what ’something’ the public needs to see/hear in order to recognize this candidate for what he really is - to put it nicely, ‘bad news’.
Stuff has happened but the only thing that really got air play was Rev Wright and there was a reaction -the MSM just ignored it and dismissed it as racism. Wait until the fall when the republicans come out with their adds - if the bots think we are racist they have not met the ex-southern democrats circa 1950-60’s.
#154 Anonymous,
You may want to call any of Senator Clinton’s offices in NY (212) 688-6262 or DC (202) 224-4451 and ask them. I don’t know that we can trust the people at the hillaryclinton.com site. As someone pointed out before who knows it may be infested with BObots.
camoderate,
you’re right there was a reaction to that and i think there may be in the fall. i’m just so disappointed that the republicans will wait until it is too late for Hillary to be the nominee and then they will go after him. the only good thing in that is he won’t be president.
Sheila - at this point ( although I still hold out hope for Hillary) the important thing is that he is not elected president as this would be bad for the country and the dnc. This is why I am willing to vote for McCain. We must take back the party and move it back to DC.
ca i agree. i’m sick that it has come to this but we gotta do what we gotta do. i’ll hold my nose and vote for mccain. i’m glad he is their nominee because it makes it easier than if it was some others i wouldn’t want to vote for.
I just hope McCain picks a palpable running mate - Hackabee would send me into a spin or frustration. I am hopeful he will not do anything stupid because he is reaching out to Hillary supporters.
“Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.” - FDR
Listen guys i was sitting out and selling sunglasses, caps and watches. But i can’t now because i’m sick. So a friend is this weekend for me and the money i make in proffit will go to getting two shirts. And i will give her something too for helping me. There are different ways of getting money. She will also hand out flyers and talk to the people as she is a Hillary supporter but will never ever vote for Mr. Hitler.
Yeah, I think the Republicans want to run against BO. Also, they are ‘courting’ Hillary supporters at the moment. So if Hillary is not the nominee, then they can count on a bunch of us in November. They aren’t stupid
As an Independent who considers ‘people’ rather than Party nominees, I still don’t get the Party Loyalty factor. Oh well. It amazes me to see politicians ostracized for crossing party lines or going against party policy - even when it is to accomplish something fantastic. So I can understand why Hillary has to play if she wants to stay in the political game. She is one tough cookie!
I think that a huge percentage of white Americans feel that they owe the AA community something, and they perhaps feel compelled to compensate them for past mistakes but the truth is ALL races have a history full of mistakes. I happened to be Hispanic and we we also subjected to abuse, rape, slavery, you name it, but I don’t choose to be a member of a “church” or congregation that Sunday after Sunday will continue to reopen the wounds and continue to remind me of who did what to my ancesters. This is another HUGE reason why I DON’T BELIEVE no name when he poses as the ultimate unifier. He wants to continue to remember what happened so he has an excuse to hold on to his hate of “the oppresors”. Am I the only one who sees what’s going on?
Easy stuff to sell brings in faster proffit. Don’t over price ,keep it low and then a faster turnover. I know we need a lot more advertising because people realy don’t know we are out there . Most don’t. We need news media. So call your local TV stations . Tell them about us. Don’t be shy. I did with channel 3 and will call 8 and 13 here in Vegas also. The news man on 3 was very interested.
I grew up in a family that NEVER discussed (1) race, (2) religion, or (3) politics.
So I grew up with no bias of any kind on any of these subjects.
Before BO came onto the scene, I never assumed anything about anyone and I never presumed to judge anyone. The only prejudice I had was against terrorists (for obvious reasons).
I think that BO has seriously hurt this country by dividing us. And now that I write this, it occurs to me that perhaps this is exactly what he intends. ‘Divide and conquer’ is a strategy for defeating a formidable enemy. He knows he isn’t qualified and he knows he can’t win unless he divides his enemies by creating this chaos and confusion. Hmmmmm.
Can someone explain to me why the pundits keep saying that conservatives don’t want to vote for McCain? I can see it if maybe they’re hoping for another outcome from the Republican convention. But if it comes to an Obama-McCain matchup in the fall, won’t they vote for McCain rather than stay home?
But BHO is half white 1 and 1/6th AA and the rest Indonesian from what i understand. So he is more white than anything. I mean color means nothing to me as i have great freinds of all colors and i have never been racist. The only fact i don’t like BHO is that hes not who he portrays to be and i would never trust him in the white house for 4 minutes never mind 4 years. Martin Luther King was a great man . Now If O was like him we would be in great shape. Bur O does not even compare to JFK or Robert. Hes a in bad company with bad people. Like my Mother always said you are who you hang around with.
I wonder the same thing. From listening to the coverage, I discern that Republicans think that McCain is not conservative enough - that he is too much towards the center. Whatever that means. There was talk that McCain considered switching to be a Democrat some years back - but I am pretty sure that never happened. But Republicans tend to remember that about him.
I can’t comment from a strong knowledge base though, so someone else might be able to answer you better.
My feeling though is that this is why Republicans can ‘hold their nose’ and vote McCain and also why Democrats can ‘hold their nose’ and vote for McCain.
It’s also the reason that I keep wondering about the McCain/Clinton ticket. It makes sense to me, which is why it probably will never happen
#178 Firebelle Puma,
I guess conservatives view McCain for what he is, a Maverick able to cross party lines, but that makes them a little nervous about him because he’s more to the center than they would like. But I think that given the choices they have BO or McCain, come November they will vote for McCain.
Well i think its about time we start sending letters to the Universaties about us and let them know more about BO. I did write to a few in West Virginia. I wish i had written to them all in all the states. They have their own news papers
You know, we West Coast night pumas have the run of the blog now. But when we finally emerge from our dens in the morning, we’re going to be 300 posts behind in our reading.
I think we won’t be laughing in November unless we figure out how to unite all non-BO supporters across party lines and actually cast votes as an offensive measure.
If BO is the nominee then I will vote for McCain in November. I respect others’ decision to stay home, vote for a third party candidate, or write in Hillary, but these are not the strongest offensive tactics. I hope that there are enough McCain voters in November to stop BO.
LOL firebelle yes we are way behind when we get on here. Look at me talking like crazy wow these pain meds make me jibber jabber. But realy there is so much more we can do. Turn the tide with a lot of people and start making these younger ones wake up.Hardly anyone knows we are out there. So call your local News Stations and believe me they will be interested in what you have to say. Never be shy.
pumaindy i agree and thats why we need a lot of exposure. This is the most inportant thing now. We need to scare Howie and nancy and harry and brazil and a couple others and mr.bho
with a name Like Firebelle i think of you as one heck of a strong fireball. Never say never. We can do more than we ever thought . We can change things and make history
I agree with you 100%. I am shy and only have a very small social network, so I cannot help in that way.
Best I can do is try to put ideas out for others to run with should they be considered plausible.
So I keep reading here and I throw out ideas whenever I think I have them
It really was a ‘light bulb’ moment earlier about the ‘Divide and Conquer’ thing… BObots have us arguing over just about everything. Speaking for myself, I’ll put aside major differences with any non-BO supporter at this point to defeat BO. He cannot get to the WH. He will destroy this country.
Sandipuma, they don’t scare. They just get defensive and dig in their heels.
I don’t know if you saw my comments earlier in the day, but my latest tactic has been to keep prodding Obama to debate McCain. Obama is his own worst enemy. He needs to blow his own chances.
I’m now sending daily emails to Obama, with copies to the DNC, Al Gore, McCain, etc. I keep pointing out the disparity between Obama’s words and actions. How many times did he say during the primaries, “I welcome that debate with John McCain.” Yet he runs away from the invitation to do weekly debates. That paints him a liar and a man who doesn’t keep his word.
How many times has Obama touted his ability to reach across the aisle? So why isn’t he reaching now, when McCain has extended his hand? How many times has he insisted on transparency in government? Yet he refuses to disclose his policies before the American public. Didn’t he even say at one point that he wanted to have weekly meetings with Congress? So why won’t he have weekly meetings with the senator calling for them now?
The more we can raise this issue, the sooner Obama will be backed into a corner. Then, without the aid of a teleprompter and his speech writers, he will fumble. That’s what we need.
but thats great pumaindy you are doing great things with your mind and we sure need that. Your ideas can help so much. You have no idea how smart you can be. Having you here is a honor.
These characteristics seem to be liabilities in this political climate. For months now I was sending reasoned arguments to the DNC arguing against BO. I sent suggestions to Hillary. Everything I did fell on deaf ears from what I kept hearing on television. I spend months confounded at the events that transpired.
As a side effect of following the politics, I got some exposure to news items. There was a video of some teenage girls just physically whaling on one of their ‘friends’. And another story about how the police caught some teenagers plotting to murder one of their classmates. I have to hope that these stories are not the norm among young people…. But….
When I see how BO supporters behaving and acting like wild animals (not to disparage the wild animals mind you), I cannot help but wonder what has happened to our youth. They engage in the most appalling acts and they seem to have no remorse or any thought that they are doing anything wrong. So reason and logic are apparently too foreign a language for them to understand. Hence the term BObots. And from what I can tell, all of the SD’s and others who keep jumping on the BO bandwagon don’t seem to have a lick of sense. The only explanation I can come up with is greed and power.
But PLEASE keep making your points and keep fighting on. Perhaps you will actually get through to someone with half a brain.
I keep reading this blog because I admire the great positive energy from the people here. Otherwise I would be even more of a wreck than I already am!

Lilymaid - great analogy - haven’t see you here before - High 5(no fist bumps here)
LOl I LOve this kitten picture! It’s like he is saying Back Off Obama!, this mountain belongs to me!
LOL It’s so perfect!
Thanks for posting it Murphy
wontbackdown,
i must be doing something wrong because it won’t work for me. i can click the post number which brings me to that posting but it won’t let me click on my name. I wonder why?
not sure which thread you’re in so i pasted it over here as well.
I’m now blogging on this site and on Normita’s Hillary’s Village site. Are their other sites where people are blogging?
Thanks Susie. I have blogged here before, but I am a newbie and am still learning.
wontbackdown,
i figured it out. thank you very much.
If the urgency is so great, then shouldn’t we be turning to someone more qualified?”
it’s midnite & I don’t wanna turn into a pumpkin so am signing off now - see ya tomorrow……………g’nite

Maybe we weren’t understanding each other?
lilymaid,
i agree. he is always stammering and saying uhhh. then i noticed MO also does that. what’s the deal with that? my impression is that they have to think about every word they are saying so as not to show their true selves.
good night everyone, morning hits pretty early here. sweet dreams when you get there.
knoxville,
i’m not sure but i think she means that it doesn’t bother her too much to deal with bots because her right wing boyfriend is worse and she gathers information when having discussions? i was curious about this too. is that what you meant firebelle?
Obama offers nothing but the promise of flowery rhetoric and empty slogans for each and every American…
…the urgency is fierce, as he says, and so here come the rhetoric and slogans to save the day.
Another great site to post on is hcsfjm.com Hillary Clinton supporters for John McCain.
Have you noticed how Obama seems to look mad all the time. In the beginning he smiled all the time. Now he just looks plain Mad. Lol Maybe it’s us.
Hi everyone did what i was supposed to today like a good old gal
Hope you are feeling better Sandipuma!
knoxvillepuma,
have you ever thought about it like i posted earlier? i feel like he’s so slow because he has to be really careful that he might say something stupid. i was just wondering your opinion as you seem to be pretty insightful.
Well goodnight all! See you tomorrow.
I love the baby puma person on this post…
I shall call him Mini-Me.
Seriously, can I adopt him and call him Brian, Jr.?
lilymaid,
i can’t believe he would seem cute , lovable or boyish to anyone. ugh! i don’t understand what is wrong with people that they can’t see through that. it is very frustrating.
#27 sandipuma - welcome back to the conversation
Me too, everyone… Goodnight! We will all be better human beings as a result of this effort.
We are witness to trying times and participants in triumphant times.
How much better does it get than to witness such greatness in Hillary Clinton and then respond to her challenge to reach for it in ourselves?
She really CHANGED things, didn’t she?
P.S. We must never forget: “A REAL LADY knows exactly when to leave the room”.
Ooooo! That kitty upstairs is fiesty. Good night. See yah all tomorrow with a new plan.
Hi Trish hows Canada say hi to everyone for me lol
sandipuma,
i can’t stand it. i feel like throwing something through the tv. even if i just hear him in the background and i’m not looking at the tv i could just scream. my poor husband, i’ll scream from the other room,TURN IT OFF! i can’t stand to even hear his stammering.
Pumaindy
Because we’ve had 8 rotten years with Bush. People will do anything to get out of this mess including getting into a bigger one unfortunately. I just tell my friends that I’ll be able to tell them “I told you so” in a year or so if you no who gets in.
He is smart enough not to use the word Utopia. But all his words are suggestive of heaven on earth.

I hide under the pillow and bed covers when the late night news come on and talks about “noname.” Get use to it. We have 4 1/2 mos left to hear it.

#37 mayor0102
yeah, I guess you must be right.

Lilymaid -Good night! Purr, purr, purr.
Doctors have to be careful because i have had brain surgery and i have CHF. So half of the surgery now and rest next tuesday.Drinking through a straw
Just can’t figure it out.
welcome back sandipuma, hope you’re feeling better
goodnight lilymaid
pumaindy- you are not wrong about him and don’t second guess yourself. i know many others like us and we wouldn’t all be wrong and get the same vibe from him.

Oh, I feel for you. Just know that you’re not alone. We kittens are there for you, purring away. Last time I was in Vegas, it was 115 degrees and the bugs were in the parking lot, turned over and dead. How can you stand the heat down there? Glad that you can communicate through the pain. Take care.
Your not alone so many i talk to see evil in him and would never trust him. I see it in his face and in his eyes

do you remember who the puma was that said she wouldn’t stay with us if we kept saying obamabot? just curious?

I was hoping i could go to Denver but so far do not know who is going from Vegas. Except for My congress freind as she is always with Hillary

Yes, that is what I was trying to say earlier. I am absolutely dumbfounded at how he can be ‘coercing’ people and organizations support him. All I can figure is that someone somewhere knows something the rest of us don’t - because I sit here with my jaw on the floor every day.

I have yet to have a reasonable conversation with a bot.
: - )
Knoxville
Exactly. You send it well. Bush beats us into the ground and now people are just numb and will take anything to get up again.
Thats who is helping me with the doctors because i didn’t have the money to pay for any of this that i am having done. I bless her everyday
I think noname is looking older all the time. This primary has been harder on him than we think. Or they’re not doing a good makeup job on him.

In actuality, I can think of much worse things to call them then bots but refrain.
sandipuma - my thoughts are with you. Sending love and peace to you. Can’t send you h___ though. That word has been hijacked.

Firebelle
Especially where the purpose of the blog is quite clear.

headoverhills,
that’s a shame to lose a puma but every one has to do what is right for them.
THEIRS (sorry)
So in the spirit of changing the subject
Does anyone still hold out hope that Hillary will be the nominee in August? I am sure counting on her NOT being on the ticket as VP. For me that would be a disaster.
Hillary has to know about all of the groups under the JustSayNoDeal umbrella by now.
I sure can’t guess what her next move is going to be. I know that she promised to support BO, but she also promised to fight for all of us and for America. And supporting BO sure is in direct conflict with protecting America and all of us. She sure is in a hard position.
#87 sandipuma
Just a quick thought. Maybe when Hillary will show up with HBO on the 26, President Clinton will hold a fundraiser to try to retire her debt. Do you think that could be a possibility?

It’s going to be a long hot summer.
In a way it is better if everyone just goes to thier repective corner and stops fighting with one another. We need to fight for issues like some of the stuff that is going on with changing the way things have been done in the democratic party. One thing I know is the change that is happening is not one I can believe in.
97 ca moderate on 06.19.08 at 2:19 am
I agree.
Hi all,
You know what bothers me the most about the so called latte, college educated, under 30 voters aka BObots is their percepcion of the election.
#53 sandipuma
Take good care of yourself. What surgery did you have?
BD
#97 ca moderate - yes!
Firebelle
Mayor0102, I’ve been a thorn for a long time. I can give you references.
pumaindy,
i feel the same way. even my sister who i am very close to says i am too obsessed with this. she is a hillary supporter but she now says , well there’s nothing you can do so why bother. she just gives up and says well i can’t vote for bo or mccain so she will just stay home. that is fine but i just hate to see people say there is nothing you can do. if everyone said that we wouldn’t have this great country that we are fighting for now.
I believe myself to be a rebel rouser.
Lots of reflection here tonight. No trolls to eat. That’s good because I don’t need a stomach ache
The late news is over and I don’t have to listen to anything about noname. So I’m off to bed. Take care everyone. New day tomorrow PUMAS. Purrrrrrrrrrrr Zzzzzzzzzzzz
#105 Ca Moderate,
I do work with these kids and I know exactly what you’re talking about.
I wanted to ask you guys for advice:
I want to raise money for Hillary, but I don’t know how. I will probably look like a complete idiot if I just stopped people on the street and asked them to donate. How should I do it? I have a list of people who I called before Ohio primary (I started to call at that time), maybe I should call them and ask them to donate on Hillary’s website. PLEASE give me some ideas.

My view on this is controversial- Let “the one” pay her out of debt- she should get something for having to pander to the dnc.

#119 rockrooky
I can’t believe you read all of that. I stopped about 1/4 way through. Garbage.

Harold Ford Jr is a great man. He’s in charge of the DLC?
rockrooky,
are you new here? i haven’t seen you before.
I would personally love a McCain/Clinton ticket. That would be change I could believe in.
#119 Rockrookie,
I wouldn’t worry about that e-mail. This is what my reply to that e-mail would have in the subject line: WARNING: BITTER CHRISTIAN CLINGING TO GUN!
Ok Roxy you made me spit up that is awesome. I definately plan to use it in the future.
#129 Roxy in cali
LOL Now that’s a great subject.
#121 Knoxville Puma
128 ca moderate on 06.19.08 at 2:49 am
That’s a ticket I could vote for.
#123 pumaindy, I wouldn’t keep my hopes up for a McCain/Clinton ticket. That definitely will not happen. What the Republican leadership did to McCain in the 2000 nomination proces is similar to what the supposed Democratic Party leadership has done to Hillary now. Fact is, Hillary will have to go through the motions of being a good team player and then pray that he loses for the good of the country.
anyone know the action items for today - I just got home.
Don’t answer this last question - it was rhetorical
knoxvillepuma,
you are right. short of something really big on obama that is exactly what she’ll have to do.
I apologize if it isn’t so but does anyone else think we have a troll?
#132 Firebelle Puma, Very well put! I have to go too. Sleep!
#136 Pumaindy,
That is indeed “the audacity of hope”!!!!! LOL
pumaindy- you forgot the part about “or antipathy to people who aren’t like them”! That is my favorite part I do not mind clinging to my gun (a pump action water gun) or my religion (still figuring that out but willing to cling).
#141 ca moderate LOL
Laughter is good after so many dark days.
roxy,
that is exactly what i thought but wasn’t sure pumaindy would take it in a humerous way and i didn’t want to offend. LOL.
#138 Sheila7,
What can be bigger than Rev. Wright, Phleger, Rezco, Ayers, Meeks, MO, etc. etc. and HIS LACK OF EXPERIENCE?
Well all I know is that (1) I hope that CNN’s map is suspect and (2) I really like looking at the AOL straw poll (one day it was all red).
Oregon seems to flip/flop between red and blue. Looking pretty red at the moment - hooray.
#94 pumaindy.
No worries about me guys.
I can be pretty crass among close friends. And I like to joke around in good company.
I have expressed some concern over bashing on a public blog like this, but I can bash with the best of ‘em in private.
roxy,
i can’t imagine what else because i can’t believe those things are ok with people. that’s what i mean though. it would have to be so bad for people to turn their back and i can’t imagine what that would be if these other things haven’t made people see the light.
#146 ca moderate,
I’d be careful with those checks if I were you….you know, with the DNC moving to no name’s campaign headquarters and all….you don’t want them to steal your identity or anything like that.
#139 Knoxville Puma
#122 sheila7
I don’t think that I will be allowed to hold a lemonade stand. I need to do something that would be more private. Going door-to-door would be out of the question too. What else can I do?
BD
ca moderate,
i just looked and they are in the action center.
Sheila thanks for the tip - found them- they are really funny as well.
that was why i was wondering if you could put it in your name or if you needed individual donations from others.
On the topic of ’something can happen’.
The thing that scares me the most is that many ’somethings’ have already happened, as Roxy says.
I keep wondering what ’something’ the public needs to see/hear in order to recognize this candidate for what he really is - to put it nicely, ‘bad news’.
sorry #157 is for anonymous
They say Hitler was a good speaker too…Hmmm.
#151 ca moderate
Here’s wishing. Also one of the 1000’s of reasons that I don’t want to see Hillary as VP.
Jenn - I prefer the Jonestown analogy but worry that we are not on a more drastic slope.
Sheila - at this point ( although I still hold out hope for Hillary) the important thing is that he is not elected president as this would be bad for the country and the dnc. This is why I am willing to vote for McCain. We must take back the party and move it back to DC.
ca i agree. i’m sick that it has come to this but we gotta do what we gotta do. i’ll hold my nose and vote for mccain. i’m glad he is their nominee because it makes it easier than if it was some others i wouldn’t want to vote for.
well everyone, i need to get some sleep. i’m glad i got to talk with you all tonight. take care and talk to you tomorrow. (today) it is 2:30 here.
I just hope McCain picks a palpable running mate - Hackabee would send me into a spin or frustration. I am hopeful he will not do anything stupid because he is reaching out to Hillary supporters.
Good night all! Can’t wait to see tomorrow assignment.
“Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.” - FDR
Good night PUMA’s!
Hitler.
#164 shiela7
#161 ca moderate,
I think that a huge percentage of white Americans feel that they owe the AA community something, and they perhaps feel compelled to compensate them for past mistakes but the truth is ALL races have a history full of mistakes.
#175 Sandipuma,
Has CNN mentioned us at all? I know FOX and MSNBC have.
#174 Roxi - you said a mouthful.
#177 Pumaindy,
Oh my gosh. You may be right about “Divide and Conquer.” I’d never considered that before.
#178 Firebelle Puma
Roxy yes they did but blew it off like we were a joke.
#180 Sandipuma,
I agree with you 100%. But our “young, hip and educated” can’t see that.
CNN can be ignorant when they want to be
#181 Pumaindy
You’re right. There’s no such thing as “common sense” and “win-win” in politics.
#183 Sandipuma,
Oh really, well let’s see who will be laughing Nov 5th in the morning…..he he.
About time these young know nothings started listening to their elders and quit drinking their kool-aid
your right Roxy.
I’ve enjoyed our conversation but I’m afraid I have to say nighty night to all. Thank you for sharing.
Go Pumas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Sandipuma. And then I wonder why I’m not getting any real work done all day. Maybe I was better off when I couldn’t get on the blog.
pumaindy i agree and thats why we need a lot of exposure. This is the most inportant thing now. We need to scare Howie and nancy and harry and brazil and a couple others and mr.bho
no Firebelle you are doing good for your country and all the generations to come. Be proud stay strong
Night Roxy God Bless you hun
with a name Like Firebelle i think of you as one heck of a strong fireball. Never say never. We can do more than we ever thought . We can change things and make history
sandipuma - you are brave
I agree with you 100%. I am shy and only have a very small social network, so I cannot help in that way.
Best I can do is try to put ideas out for others to run with should they be considered plausible.
So I keep reading here and I throw out ideas whenever I think I have them
It really was a ‘light bulb’ moment earlier about the ‘Divide and Conquer’ thing… BObots have us arguing over just about everything. Speaking for myself, I’ll put aside major differences with any non-BO supporter at this point to defeat BO. He cannot get to the WH. He will destroy this country.
Look at Murphy we are lucky to have her. She is young and strong and smart. Heck she could be my daughter. I am so proud of her.
Having you here is a honor.
wow Firebelle that is awesome. Excellent job. See all heads put together and we can conquer . You gals are all so wonderful.
I would love to see Ob backed into a corner. He can not debate. Mccain will bury him.
Yes, we all bring something unique and special to the group.
Oh, but Sandipuma, he’s the “great orator.” Haven’t you heard?
Firebelle - you speak with reason and logic.
