Around the blogosphere, the questions have been whispered and passed around for months now. Riverdaughter, the well-known Goldberry at DailyKos, started her own blog (The Confluence) back in January when she just couldn’t take the blind adoration anymore. Her site reached the 2,000,000 mark over the weekend. And our territory on the Blogosphere keeps expanding. . .
Now the questions are reaching people off the internet. The voters of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, South Dakota, Puerto Rico, heard the doubts and listened to their hearts and their common sense and rejected this empty suit, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE INSTRUCTED BY THE DNC AND THE MEDIA to embrace him. They did their best. Hillary Clinton and her strongest supporters did their best. But the deck was stacked too high, the bias was too overwhelming. The DNC selected him and the media stood idly by, and continue to do so.
But the questions remain:
Who is this man? What are his motives? Where are his accomplishments? When did he decide he should rule the world? Why now?
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY Barack Obama.

Well, I have had a creepy feeling about Obama since the start. I never, ever got the appeal–I have NEVER felt inspired by this man. His speeches, to me, are phony, and his policies are weak, at best. He steals from other people–mostly Hillary, for lack of more original policy ideas of his own. And, although I have always hesitated to say it, it has been said by others–I think he is a dangerous cult-like leader. I am not sure he can handle power without including his own underlying agenda and that of his wife’s. She scares me more than he does. Finally, my question has been, who are his friends? I don’t know of any other than his political,and religious associates in contrast to Hillary’s lifelong friends. One can judge the character of a person by the company they keep! Sorry this is such a long rant, but I am just so disappointed in the mentality of this country at this point in time.

Dear Mr. Gore,
With all due respect, I cannot join in the campaign supporting Senator Obama for President for to do so would be making a statement that I agree with his qualifications, or lack thereof, his ideologies, and his campaign tactics. In addition, supporting Senator Obama would also suggest that I condone the manipulative politics of the Democratic Party that illegitimately has propelled his presumed nomination. Senator Hillary Clinton has won the popular vote and also is the most qualified candidate, however, she has continually been strongarmed out of this race by a misogynistic media assault campaign and by political maneuvering of the Party elite. I absolutely will not vote for Senator Obama for these reasons and mostly because I do not think he possesses the experience, judgment, or competence in issues domestic and international to safely lead our country in these tumultuous times.
In closing let me say that I have enormous respect for you as a leader and politician, but, in this case I am unable to follow your lead.

I saw him at a rally in Denver (FEB) and I was rather disturbed by grown women crying 5 minutes into the speech–and all he did was say ‘hello’ and started a chain of ‘yes we can’ chants. It was really unsettling. He lost me the minute he said that Hillary was a divisive person. I boo’ed him and people thought I was nuts! I came there to hear him tell me about his policies, not dis her. Now I know, he HAS no sound policies to call his own!

I am so unhappy to see your public endorsement of Senator Barack Obama.
Of all people, I thought you would understand.
While I have the utmost respect for you and your cause for global warming, I simply cannot do what you are asking. I cannot support a candidate that has used old-style politics to get his opponents off the ballot (Alice Palmer, Illinois state senate race). In addition, I have my speculations about his fund raising, large rallies to name a few things. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and yet super-delegates were forced to make decisions by the leadership of the DNC, who clearly were pressuring them to support Obama.
But what concerns me most today is what I feel is the development of a tyrant. I am concerned with the way the DNC has moved central operations to Chicago. I am concerned that he says he will bring “guns” to fight the Republicans, that he will “whop” congress.

I just got finished helping out with sandbagging. Since I live in Moline, Illinois, I drove over to Davenport, Iowa to fill sandbags. The Mississippi River was expected to crest today. I felt real good about doing this because many are in need. I am fortunate in that I live in an area on higher ground and hence have not been affected by the flooding.
Many of these flooding problems are a result of the neglect of the physical infrastructure over the past 40 years. That is why some of the levees broke over the weekend. That is why we have to sandbag on the Davenport side of the river.
It is quite clear that Hillary understands the need to upgrade, improve, and even replace the decaying infrastructure. It is also quite clear that Nobama and McCain are completely clueless about this.

Love the question and here is my theory. Several things came together at once to create BO.
First it is commonly said that any MAN could reasonably aspire to be President, but this is not the case. Presidents are almost always tall, attractive, extroverted, Protestant and vigorous looking. This leaves out a lot of men who also seek power. So I think a bunch of Democrat men who do not fit the mold (too short, unattractive, not Protestant, fat, flabby and pasty faced) saw the Bush puppet and saw their road to power. They picked a guy (Obama) who looked like he fit the mold and came up with the “you have to vote for him or you are racist” mantra and they sold it to a bunch of fearful sexist pigs in the media.
Now remember Ted Kennedy had his Presidential aspirations cut short by leaving his wife at home to take care of the kids, spending a weekend partying, leaving a party drunk with a young woman, driving his car off a bridge, escaping the submerged car, swimming across a ferry route to look like he wasn’t anywhere near the accident and leaving the woman to drown. So Ted Kennedy sees that the Clinton dynasty might be making more history than the Kennedy dynasty and he can’t stand that so he self righteously gets behind anything that isn’t Clinton. Also Obama came out of Chicago and it is rumored that Jack Kennedy only won his very close election because of shenanigans pulled by the Chicago Democrat machine (dead people voting).
The whole thing is just a confluence of pathetic Democrat old men seeking power, fearful and oozing jealousy over a competent woman taking “their place”. But if they manage to put Obama in the white house after all of their anti democratic BS then this country is in for a decline and they absolutely will not ever be getting around to dealing with womens issues because they don’t understand them and they won’t have to. They MUST be defeated.

Dawn# #70–Yeah, I find that funny myself. I went to the Huffington site to check out those who contributed. I was listed and I continued to look around to see the amounts that others gave. There was one address that had 5 donations from the same address given at various times. 2 of the donations were the $2300 limit and the other 3 were amounts of $1000 and $500. All of the last names were the same, but the occupations listed were things like” baseball player” and “pet sitter.”
There were other suspicious donations besides that one. It grabbed my attention because the address was just blatantly repeated.

Good evening all. Just wanted to let you know that I received an email reply from Moretta Bosely, SD from Kentucky. She states her continued support for Hillary, that she continues to send letters to other SDs (even those who have defected to *61) urging for Hillary to be on the ticket in November. She also states that if other SDs paid attention to the letters she has been receiving (100′s per day) they would be moving over to Hillary’s side. She is the only one of the SDs from the 14 states I emailed yesterday to respond.

He really told them all the way thru the letter and also said that they put OB’s picture in there acting like he is some god like figure. Hey, he is helping our cause. Wonder if he is a PUMA. He was lucky they put his letter in there.
Thanks sassysenora–I was thinking along those similar views and yet suspicious to a viewer, it is legal. I recalled, though, that when I made my contributions on HRC’s site, that it asked me to check off that I was 18 or older. But again, that is a blind arguement, too.

goandersen’s idea of sending “Get Well Cards” to the Democratic Party is great! Let’s all do it on the same day, say this Friday. We should send emails to every email address for the party that we have, send faxes to every fax number for the party that we have, and even make phone calls to say that you have heard that the party’s principles have not been feeling very well since the beginning of the campaign last year. Hope they get better soon!
What do you say? Emails, faxes and phone calls hitting every email inbox, fax machine and phone answerer all on the same day sound good?
I posted this on the last thread and didn’t get a response. I need help on an issue brought up in another forum.
Did Hillary vow not to run in Michigan and Florida, then go back on her word? I’m looking for facts on this one because I’m the lone “No Deal” voice on this forum and I think I’m making headway despite my unpopular position there.
Any 411 on this topic would be greatly appreciated because it’s one point I’m not able to respond to.

beca4hillary, I totally agree with you. Here’s my 2 cents worth. I know that we hate the war and want to be out of there asap, but fact of the matter is, the US has to have some kind of presence in the middle east just like we have a presence in okinawa, Japan and Germany to act accordingly when something flares up. Everyone says that dubya brought us to Iraq for the oil, and that’s partly true. But another reason is that he wanted the U.S. to make a statement to all the countries in the middle east that we’re there and can act immediately. With all the heated rhetoric coming out of Iran these days, do any of us seriously think that we’ll withdraw our troops completely and leave the area (even if Hillary were president)? I absolutely feel for the military families and pray for the safety of our soldiers. But something tells me that even under Democratic WH, we still would be there for awhile.
We should have an “adopt a troll” game to retire the debt. Say, Murphy puts up a list of regular trolls for adoption, and every time Murphy blocks a post from that troll, you donate to retire the debt.
BTW, I totally LOVE the Get Well cards idea.

I was so disappointed to hear Al Gore’s joining the Obama Gang. Thought he was smarter than that. He’s taken a huge leap downwards in my view. Right into the gutter with the rest of them. It’s beginning to look like the Obama bigname superdelegate list should be called the “Failed Presidential Ambitions Club!” I mean every politician who ever ran and failed, hoped and dreamed to be president one day is on his side. Kennedy, Kerry, Dean, Dodd, Richardson, now Gore……Could it be they just can’t live with the fact that a woman could have outdone THEM, beat THEM to the highest office? So, they’ll do anything, sell their soul to the devil if they have to, bargain away every last principle they ever had, to make sure they destroy that woman and ensure she doesn’t get anywhere near the White House! Sad.

It might make more of an impact if there are constant refrains of “best wishes” sentiments. Also, maybe it’s better to do it on Monday or Tuesday of next week than on Friday. Who wants to start the work week off by being reminded that they’re working for a political party whose own members think that it’s ill and unrepresentative of its own members?!?!

I also like not having the trolls here, it make the place a lot nicer. However, on the McCains blog they are not monitored for trolls and have adopted a rather cute idea for dealing with them. The bloggers are encouraged to adopt a troll and contribute something like 10 cents each time their troll says something or one amount for the whole evening for the troll. It’s kind of a cute concept maybe we could contribute for the trolls congregating outside our door.

When Obama sits down with ABC News tonight just to make sure to tell the audience why he is a better woman’s candidate (in his opinion) than McCain–and the LA Times (owned by the Chicago Tribune who are crazy for Obama) makes a story of “Women lining up behind Obama” as FRONT PAGE NEWS – the Obama campaign is definitely shook up and scared by this movement. I see Patty Solis from Hillary’s campaign has been chosen by BO as the yet to be named Vice-Presidents Chief of Staff.
Now I know she was replaced by Hillary, so I don’t expect Hillary to be the VP, not unless she wants her Presidential bid, now or in the future, denied. She of course wouldn’t be VP knowing full well that the incumbent would win the nomination.

I have been very bothered by BO and his fanatic followers since the very beginning. I told my husband that this looked like Jim Jones all over again.
The first time I ever heard of BO was when he gave the keynote speech at the Democratic convention in 2004. Nothing after that. Then I read that he was running for President.
I watched a few of the “debates” when there were like 7 men and Hillary. All of them blasting her. She stood her ground like I knew she would. Then they start dropping out. Pretty soon it was just this guy with big ears and 2-1/2 years experience in the Senate..
I was certain that Hillary would beat him by 50% of the vote. Then the divide got smaller. I wondered what was going on. How could anyone fall for that man’s smoke and mirrors act? When he and Hillary debated, she beat him so badly. I was sure that the American people would see how inexperienced he was.
I have to feel that there is some powerful group behind him that we know nothing about. That scares me to death. I know that the DNC selected him. It was pure sexism. Still who are these people that donated so much money to him?? I am afraid we will never know until it is too late.
We must become larger and stronger. We have to be the ones that make sure he is never elected.. I believe we can..
I see there are a number of people on here from PA. I live in Oil City. Anyone near me??

Everything I have read indicates both candidates signed an agreement that they would not campaign in Florida and Michigan. There was no agreement to not run there.
I say this with certainty because I was confused on the reports that Obama’s name was not on the Michigan ballet, so I researched why not. Another mislead by the media, he removed his name willingly. But yet he still advertised in Florida by taking a national ad, knowing it would be aired prior to the Florida vote.
The was no ruling stating candidate’s could not run in Michigan and Florida.

goanderson, I’ve been catching up on the posts. It seems that no one was able to respond to your inquiry to #19. I remember the book well – “Sublimial ADVERTISING” was its title. I read that book and it did discuss embedded pictures to unconciously persuade consumers to purchase products. Nothing seems sublimial anymore. Just blatant brainwashing.

My observations are a “cut and paste” of yours. However, I say the “clouds breaking, the skies opening, and the celestial choirs” going fanatical after New Hampshire…before SC. When Oprah announced her backing, Chuck Todd over at MSNBC and his “First Read” groupies were let off their leashes. That is when the “race” flap began to enter the picture. At that time, CNN was still being fairly non-biased. Right up to the SC primary, that is when I began to see CNN tilt. My observation was that they were more after BC than covering Hillary. It then became a daily assault on her and triumphed news regarding *61. From then on, according to the MSM, she couldn’t do anything right. I think we all remember what happened during the next few months. After her Super Tuesday Triumphs, the spin control and other factors: Kennedy, Kerry, Dean, and Pelosi started stepping in making “no a factor” type of news/events. The guy was planned since 2004 and no one was going to change it. That is my take.

I got one too. I’m taking it this way. She’s taken the trouble to write, which says she’s still out there, ready, able and willing to communicate with us.
So, if she WANTED to encourage us to support the child wonder, she would have said so! We’d be getting all kinds of emails from her! I mean, c’mon, during the campaign we got emails almost daily!
I think the lack of any mention, NOT A WORD, about child wonder in her email message says it all.
The woman is a lady. Through and through.
I just flipped through the link she provided in the email, with all the pictures from the campaign, etc.
What I say to you all, is, go through the “book of pictures” she sent and look at the pictures. I’d say that’s where her message to us is being conveyed. Look at each picture and read between the lines. What does it bring up for you? What was happening then? Any signs or slogans you see I’d look at closely.
Two things struck me heavily. #1. There’s a picture of two women sitting with their back to the camera at a Clinton rally. They both have on T-shirts, with the slogan “Hillary’08,” “Hillary ’08″ staring you right in the face. #2. A picture of the June 7 “18 Million Cracks” speech….Hmm….NOT one enthusiastic word about wonder boy.
When she read from her notes about supporting Obama and working hard for his election, all I could think of is the videos the Iraqis put out in the early days of Gulf War 1, when they’d captured American, French and British pilots and wanted to parade them in our faces for propaganda purposes. I didn’t believe a word those pilots said about how great the Iraqis were. Having a reeeaaall hard time believing Hillary, or anyone in their right mind, could want this guy local elected dogcatcher, let alone president!
It kind of reminds me how people in communist/fascist countries have to communicate with each other in the press, TV, radio, etc., through all kinds of cryptic messages. They can’t be straightforward cause the press is controlled by the state, etc., so they devise all kinds of ingenious ways of communicating their truth. People I’ve known from former communist countries in Europe, South/Central America, etc. are really good at seeing through the hype and propaganda in the media. It always amazes me how quick they are to see through things, while we often just let them pass, not even noticing…..

The first time I ever heard of BO was when he gave the keynote speech at the Democratic convention in 2004. Nothing after that. Then I read that he was running for President.
This was my experience as well. Of course now we know it’s because he was – by his own admission, mind you – too busy preparing to run and running for President to do much of anything else.
And although it didn’t occur to me at the time, in retrospect I wonder if that “One America” speech – coming as it did at the same time Edwards was speaking about “Two Americas” – did anything to undercut the Dem’s chances in ’04 by undercutting that message.

My idea for the “21st Century Boston Tea Party” came from combining two ideas I read in the blog. One was the idea of sending the Get Well cards. The other was a blog someone wrote (I don’t recall who) that related his/her ancestors who were founders of this country. The blog continued to discuss the Boston Tea Party. So, I made a connection that instead of sending coupons for lemonade or other drinks I would send the wrapper a tea bag comes in, or a coupon, and enclose it with my Get Well card and write in the card “Welcome to the 21st Century version of the Boston Tea Party.” I have ancestors who fought in every single war in this country since the 1600′s. I am not going to take this blatant attempt to return our country to a dictatorship lying down! Gee, can you tell I’m a bit ticked off.

Hello and hope all is well with everyone! Would like some input on a question I posed to all media outlets repeatedly. During the primary season every vote that Senator Clinton received was broken apart, socioeconomic backgroud, age, education so on and such. Now that really was never addressed much when it came to the Obama voter, sure they referenced change and such but did not delve too deeply into the actual breakdown as with Clinton. So my question is this? Obama received educated, affluent, those seeking change( whatever that entails is as of yet, unclear) and african americans. Now of the 92 percent of said voters socioeconomic background was never addressed, should that lead us all to believe that of that percentage they fall into the highly educated, affluent category, would that mean that the other 8 percent Senator Clinton received were the poor and uneducated? Hmmm! Curious, is it not?

That may be so, but I think she knows that in its current state, with its current leadership, etc., it doesn’t represent the Democratic Party we all believed in, thought it was and expected it to be. I don’t doubt there are still many Democrats who adhere to the principles the Democrats used to stand for, but they’re silent now, for the most part. I do believe she believes the party can be salvaged. But it’s lost forever if Obama, Dean et al win this battle. Michelle regarding #257–I recall that the 92 percent number was the AA support by itself (arguments and stats that began after the Potomac Primaries). I may be wrong. I boycott CNN now, but they did have one thing in their favor. During each primary election, you could get precise numbers of each of those categories and how they voted. If you go to their main page and then continue on to politics, they should still have the numbers for each state and how the groups voted. Hope this helps. Also, RealClearPolitics and SurveyUSA should have the numbers, too.

If you really want to hear what Hillary is saying go back and listen to her speech. There are so many underlying comments. I remember one about never letting anyone tell you you can’t do something. And to never give up trying. Her delegates have not been released and they haven’t been counted yet. My 84 year old father did some research and says the super delegates don’t count until the convention delegates have voted. We need a miracle, but I am a firm believer in miracles. A lot of people are really unhappy about Obama’s economic package and FactCheck.org is trashing his medical package. A lot can happen in the time before the convention. I keep picturing Hillary taking the Oath of Office in my head. I asked my husband what the three words arrogant, immature and inexperienced made him think of and he said Bush. and I said think more current. Obama! We can only hope these get the best of him. He’s already tripping all over himself about the Countrywide guy he picked to help with the VP search. Hillary gets a well deserved rest while McCain and BO go at each other. It’s not over. I will proudly wear my Hillary pin every day. She’s my only candidate.

“My political history is not that great, and do not know if the timing of this years convention is just a well planned, well thought out process in which the DNC has devised from the start. My guess is that it has had the agenda of nominationg Barry Obama from the very beginning. And so, I see many similarities about this year’s Democratic National Convention and the one held in August 26, 1968. That was the year, Robert Kennedy were assassinated; just 5 years after the assassination of his brother John F Kennedy and then of course Martin Luther King. 1968 was also the year RFK was the party’s nomination and the year Hubert Humphrey got the nomination in Robert Kennedy’s stead. He did not win. And if history repeats itself, neither will Obama.

My conclusion is that this year’s convention is also symbolic to the DNC and the reason they have been pushing BHO to get the nomination all along. It was a cleverly layed plot. It is no mere coincidence that the DNC ruled Hillary out. And in my opinion this was the reason Hillary mentioned RFK a few weeks ago during her ArgusLeader interview. She wasn’t emphasising the assassination, but trying to reveal the DNC’s plot to get BHO nominated. To save face on a very unpleasant time in or nation’s history. In short, this campaign has and was all about race and color from the beginning. It was a way of washing away the sins of the past. A way to devest the Democrats of their civil rights guilt. And this gala event, a way to celebrate the 40th year of Rober F. Kennedy, the man once quoted for saying: in 40 years this country will be ready to elect a black president. And if you remember in the 2004 August Convention Mr. O was given acculades by both pary and media for his Keynote Address; they saying at the time, that he, Mr. O was being primed to be the next presidential candidate. That is also the reason BHO’s first tv advertisement was a photo op of himself giving John Kerry’s introductory speech. There are no coincidences in politics my friends and John Kerry is also in league with the DNC to nominate BHO along with his friend Ted Kennedy; in my opinion.
This campaign season was an inside job from Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, and let us not forget about Ted Kennedy who wanted to write the history on his family’s name, as well as John Kerry who lost the election in 2004 by giving Mr O the nod through that Keynote speech. This entire primary season has been more about Ted Kennedy’s legacy than Bill Clinton’s ever was! Let us also not forget that only a few short weeks ago, in an interview Mr O proudly proclaimed having gone to Ted Kennedy upon his arrival as state senator from Illinios. At the time, he said to learn from the Lion himself. One would only have to guess what they spoke about during those meetings.

I’m glad you brought that up. I’ve noticed that too. The RFK wing of the Kennedy family have been politically and socially active. They haven’t avoided politics, social issues, etc., sitting on the sidelines (exception: Patrick K., Ted’s son, but he hasn’t done anything earth-shattering, other than frequently getting his name in the news for one mishap or another).
You hardly ever hear about the RFK wing’s support of HRC, though you see Caroline all the time now whenever BO and MO need a little boost. Up till now, she’s done nothing politically. I have to say if I was her and Obama had offered me a spot on his VP vetting squad, I would have turned him down, saying I’m not qualified or appropriate for that job – there are so many others who know what they’re doing and would do it much better, etc. – Not to diminish Caroline K., but her accomplishments up to now have not been in the political arena. That’s not her field. I was actually shocked she accepted that job. She says OB reminds her of her father and her father’s effect on people. She was what 6 yrs old when he was assassinated? How much can she remember?
On the otherhand, RFK’s kids, for the most part, were a lot older. None of them see the similarities Caroline sees, apparently….None of them have been moved or, fooled, might be a better word, over to his side.
RFK was my favorite Kennedy – past, present or future. I loved and adored him beyond words. I was devastated when he was assassinated. I will never forget him.
When Obama gets equated to RFK, I just want to jump up, screaming bloody murder. It makes me so angry. How dare he! It’s the epitome of egomaniacal narcisism and the ugliest kind of exploitation! It’s repulsive!
JFK promised us much. Tragically, he never got to do much more than inspire us, move us, lead us in the right direction.
RFK was left with the tough, painful, dirty job of trying to make those promises reality. He actually delivered on many of the JFK dreams.
So, when you frame the issues as hope, inspiration vs actually having to make things happen in actuality, rather than in our minds and imaginations, I can understand why the JFK wing supports OB and the RFK wing supports HRC.
And I’m with THEM.

I have been reading (everything) over the last few days on the puma site, all the blogs and “things to do”.
I don’t blog much, not as savy as alot of you, but I enjoy all your EXCELLENT comments!!!
I did the e-mail/fax to Dean-o, wrote letters to party people, called into radio shows (got on Bill O’Rielly) and stressed my distrust of Obama’s tactics and cohorts … Bill did not even interrupt, or get snarky at me. He did state “There are a lot of you people out there that are upset with the Dem Party, do you really think you can orchestrate a shake-up?” (!!!) I felt empowered by everyone’s info on this site and all the other sites calling for action, we really ARE starting to make a diference.
Seeing Al Gore (my volume was on mute) cave-in to O is truely an attempt by Party Leaders to try and snuff out all OUR grumblings, but ain’t gonna happen … we are on a roll!
P.S. to GOSUEF4HIL: One of the many people I wrote to (also)is Anna Quindlan. It bothered me she wrote about jumping on the “unity train”.
BUT, I am making progress with my talking points about (this) fracture of party principles, and the freaky takeover by the Obama Org. to family and people around me. When they listen and the “aha” moment starts to show, I beg them to join in and take action. It helps to make my day!

When Hillary sent a copy of her last speech out to everyone who had emailed her, did she do that with all her other speeches or did she want to be sure her supporters heard that one?
My favourite moment of all moments in all the photos, videos etc of Hillary on the campaign trail was a short clip on the news of Hillary and Bill waiting for the plane the evening they were heading back from PR, and she looked very tired. Bill reached out his palm and stroked the side of her face. My eyes teared up because that gesture of love and kindness was beyond words.

My partner has been a die hard Republican all of his life (till Hillary), making for some very interesting times in our 22 years together. He had this pegged from the beginning…regarding Ted Kennedy’s legacy…he also says that Kennedy, Kerry, Dean, Pelosi and Reid are the driving force in this whole debauchery. He thinks Kennedy has some sour feelings about not garnering support for his own nomination and his ego wouldn’t be able to handle a woman accomplishing what he wasn’t able to do!
We have the Albemarle sound between the fire and our home so it won’t bother us just the constant smoke is really awful
I feel a great sense of calm knowing that I will be voting for Hillary or McCain. I cannot support BO and will not donate any money to his election or to those members of the Democratic party that ignored the voters.
We are disappointed that Gore used his Global Warming mailing list to fund raise for Obama. Another cause we will no longer support financially.
I don’t even know what copy and paste is, so I just send everyone my own letters, I hope I am helping, I have been working my butt off for Hillary from the get go, and I don’t plan on stopping. My dream,if Senator Clinton somehow does not come out with a nomination(that is rightfully hers) is to see Obama get wiped out in the general, I know he can’t win but I sure would love to see him take a serious ass whooping!

Five Dems pull out of state primary

Five Democratic presidential contenders removed their names on Tuesday from Michigan’s Jan. 15 primary ballot, angering state Democratic leaders and feeding Republican hopes of capturing the state in a White House race for the first time since 1988.
Barack Obama, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Bill Richardson and Dennis Kucinich — all trailing Hillary Clinton in Michigan polls — filed requests to remove their names from the ballot by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline, eliminating two of the top three Democrats from the Michigan contest. They are not participating here because Michigan broke national party rules by moving its primary election date before others.
Clinton will remain on the ballot, her campaign said.

Trying to ramp up the importance of Florida’s Democratic presidential primary, Hillary Clinton on Friday called for her Democratic rivals to join her in helping get Florida delegates seated for the national convention.
They didn’t bite.
“I hear all the time from people in Florida and Michigan that they want their voices heard in selecting the Democratic nominee,” the New York senator said in a statement. “I believe our nominee will need the enthusiastic support of Democrats in these states to win the general election, and so I will ask my Democratic convention delegates to support seating the delegations from Florida and Michigan.”
The Democratic National Committee stripped all the delegates from Michigan and Florida as punishment for scheduling primaries earlier than allowed by national party rules. Winning the nomination requires winning delegates, so technically that makes Florida’s Democratic primary meaningless.
But with Clinton comfortably leading in Florida polls, it’s in her interest to stress the importance of Florida’s Democratic primary and in Sen. Barack Obama’s to downplay it. The Obama campaign has repeatedly dismissed the Florida Democratic vote as irrelevant to the nominating contest, which doesn’t sit well with some top Florida Democrats.
On Friday, Sen. Bill Nelson, who some Democrats expect to endorse Clinton Tuesday, praised her statement, called on other Democrats to follow her lead, and declared in a statement, “All the talk about Florida’s Democratic Primary being meaningless is absurd.”

Judging from the comments the Obama supporters are leaving on TalkLeft, it appears there’s a fundamental misunderstanding on what the candidates promised and didn’t promise regarding the outcomes of the Florida and Michigan primaries.
Here’s the four state pledge (pdf).
It says nothing about which delegates will count or not count in Florida and Michigan. It says nothing about whether a state’s primary will count or not.
The candidates merely pledged not to campaign in any states holding a primary or caucus before Super Tuesday, other than Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

. My feet are webbed, borned and raised here. So it looks like everyone is busy. I still have to 1) write a letter to the editor, 2) contact Hillary supporters in town (Federal Election Commission has their contributions), 3) send a empty tea bag, a PUMA flier and a sailing ship designed card where I can put the bag (I’ll send a copy of the card to marylandpuma for your use), 4)put up fliers with tabs in free speech places, and 5) best of all, go to the sign store and have a large 4″ X 8″ sign made to post on a friends fence that faces all the traffic in town. That should get some real notice. Everyone goes by their yard. I’ll have to check the sign ordinance at city hall and pay the fee ($50, I think). I have the Denver web site saved and will check back. I’m going to be over there this summer for a few weeks so will try to make contacts. I always feel so gooooooood after reading your comments. Ordered my T-shirt and am looking forward to handing out fliers every day at the 4th celebration on the lake (four day event). Will be acousted, I’m sure, but I know all the police officers in town and the fire fighters too. All I have to do is “scream.”

It is truly wonderful to engage(although I usually just read)with so many like minded individuals. This primary season has left me very angry, glad I am not alone. Obama has very dubious relationships and the Country as a whole still doesn’t know who and what he is or what he stands for regardless of all his empty rhetoric. From Trinity United Church to Reverend Wright; to William Ayers and Tony Rosco, one cannot trust his judgements on anything let alone give the country over to him to run. Both he and his wife foster a black libertarian point of view and have but one agenda. They do not see America in the same way I do. In short, he is an empty suit.

Maryland PUMA I am in Towson, north of Baltimore. I thought I was in the minority, too. But its amazing how many people support me for continuing to wear my Hillary pin. A couple of people have made stupid remarks like “get over it” or “you must be having a bad day”, but I don’t let them get to me. I also just took my sons and a group of their friends to the Outer Banks and all nine of them supported Hillary. It always worries me that our voting machines don’t have a paper trail. I don’t trust the system without it.

Okay just a crazy idea coming from my tired east coast brain that has been up since 7am. we need something more visible then letters. what if we send the DNC bowling pins for two reasons..one it goes along with the BOWL acronym I see for “Barck Obama will Lose”…also tounge in cheek reference to Hillary’s april fool’s suggestion that she and BO have a bowl off for the nomination. 1. How are you getting the letters from Hillary with the puma stamps?
2. What happened to the video at the top of the post? It says no longer available.
3. I hit reply when I got a money request from the DNC and added a “sweet” note to it. I haven’t gotten another one in over 2 weeks!!
4. I think it would be great to send “tourist” post cards to Hillary from every possible city, state, university, etc. so she can see where we all come from. It would be great to have a 50 state response.
6. We were at the ball game tonight and there were blackhawk helicopters flying overhead from the convention center to the Pepsi Center where the convention takes place. Maybe a new mode of transport? Maybe we getting through? I mean these were the kind that can carry missles!!! The were practicing for well over an hour!!!!!!!! Supposed to be something coming up on the news about how the convention expenses are going to be covered. I’ll let you know.

When people were upset about the cancelling of Las Vegas they started sending baby booties to the station, They were being delivered by the dozens. I think the bowling pin idea is funny, but getting enough might be difficult. We need an item that is readily available to all of us that represents our connection to Hillary that will fit in a Flat rate Priority mail box. It would cost about $10 to mail to the DNC. Or if we can find a smaller item we can use the flat rate Priority envelop for less than $5. Or how about a picture of a sheep with the caption “We will not fall in line” and send it in a regular envelop?

PROPOSED ACTION THAT I”D LIKE TO FOLLOW UP ON:
1. i wanted to follow up on SDs. if we could get a list of SDs who supported BO against their district (state for Gov or Senator), maybe we could pressure them by getting ppl in their districts to email them and say they’re thinking of voting for their opponent since obviously the SD isn’t interested in what her/his consituents want. i think blanket emails to them are ok but the only thing most politicians really care about are money and votes. i think using both would be better than general emails.
2. antifish (?) had the link to HuffPO so we could find out who in our area gave money to Hillary. someone else had a link (to the FEC?) that would help us track down smaller donors. was this being organized in any way? i.e., are ppl in a given area getting together to decide who takes which zip codes? are ppl deciding to target swing states like OH, FL, PA, CO, MO, etc?
3. the letter that Brian and Elaine organized today was very good. (thanks to both of you for all your work!) i know Brian was trying to get press coverage for it.
i was wondering if we could coordinate with other PUMA type orgs so that two of the orgs do something big like that each week. that way, the press is more likely to pick up on at least some of it.
i have to try to remember the rest. i’ll post soon.

I honestly don’t know what all this fuss is about.
When Bill Clinton was running for President, Hillary withstood what I believe has got to be one of the most humiliating experiences any woman could ever endure – having your husband’s dirty laundry and sexcapades made public. Can you imagine how not only Hillary but their daughter must have felt about it all?
Then as First Lady, she suffered even greater humiliation as her husband, the President of the United States, was exposed for carrying on an affair right under her nose in the White House, that became a public spectacle.
And you’re concerned about the way she was humiliated for her campaign practices? If Hillary is tough enough and thick skinned enough to weather the former storms, she was certainly tough enough to weather the current one.
I don’t think she is nearly as upset as you are __________ and I suspect she is not sitting around having a pity party.
Whether or not you supported her for the nomination, the fact is that she bickered and complained and often repelled others. And bickering and complaining is not an image that U.S. Presidents have represented in our history. If Hillary got defeated, then she did so as a result of her own agenda. If you are old enough to recall, can you imagine Golda Meir or Margaret Thatcher bickering and complaining? Indira Ghandi was another story – don’t know all the details but she was assassinated by her own bodyguards. She must have gotten someone angry, but I’ll get she wasn’t a complainer.
Hillary entered the lion’s den, she put up a good fight and that’s that. Any woman (or man for that matter) who enters that arena knows exactly what they can expect and are ready for it. But that’s when real grace and finesse will shine through.
As to many of the low blows that you refer to…well, all I can say is “consider the source.” If people lacking in reasonable intelligence or social breeding say and do things that are way out in the ozone, then just consider the source. Those are not the people who count. And by going over these insults over and over again, you’re just bringing yourself to that level and producing the very reactions they intended. I can’t see adding fuel to a fire that is no longer burning.
Often we cannot see the blessings in cirumstances until situations are played out. In our own lives, we see the blessings in hindsight. Well, it may be the very same with politics. We are aware of an immediate result. We are not yet aware of future results that can turn all of this around. And it really doesn’t do any good to bitch when we don’t have an aerial view.
Of course, I don’t pretend to speak intelligently about politics. I just know what I feel.
So that’s my 2000 cents.

The concert I went to tonight was Cindy Lauper’s True Colors Concert. This is its second year. It’s to benefit the LGBT community. Part of the proceeds go to the Human Rights Campaign. Carson Kressley was the host and he actually came over to where I was sitting, so I got to meet him briefly. Rosie O’Donnell was there. She was really funny, but she kinda told everyone to vote for BO, which pissed me off. The applause was rather tepid, though, so that’s a good sign. One of the other bands there was the B-52s, which are from near here, in Athens, I’ve seen them many times and I just love them. The other bands that played were from Canada. One was called Click. A very good band. The other were two young sisters fronting a band. They were also very good, but I’d have to find my program to name them. Overall the concert was wonderful. The venue is called Chastain Amphitheater and it’s a nice open air arena, not very large, and kinda intimate.

Just sent a scathing email to Al Gore. Finally he speaks out – but in support of Obama? Where was his and every party leader’s voice when Hillary was being so insulted by the media. I feel abandoned by the Democratic Party. Although there are many PUMAs who will vote for McCain, I cannot. His views are too different from Hillary’s. But I can’t bring myself to vote for Obama. If only Hillary would run as an Independant I bet she would win. This may be the first election that my vote may be a non vote. Also, I received an email from Womencountpac.com They seem to be planning another ad this week with the following headline “We’re still here. We’re listening. I’m glad they changed the name. We have to be more aware of our brother Pumas. I often feel like some of us take for granted that this is a woman’s movement. It’s not. My 23 year old son is just as pissed as I am about what happened. He won’t be going to Denver because he promised to watch my two little Shih Tzus, but he’ll be there in spirit. He caught all kinds of flack on his college campus for having a Hillary sticker on his car, but could have cared less. He’s my hero!

Uh ok, I had earlier posted ideas of high profile ppl who can call attn to our cause & to all the ‘irregularities’ of BO camp tactics — I had listed possibilities as George SOROS, whom I just learned might be in leagues w/Arianna & HuffPost to elect BO & behind-the-scene “shadow convention” dude (sounds ominous; what’s he got planned at the DNC Convention??!). So forget that idea, heh…Altho~ some letters to Soros might get thru to him that there are other “civic society” principles than just his personal preferences…If he really believed in his causes, he would be able to see it from all sides…!
But I still think Mike MOORE & JERRY SPRINGER are viable choices for raising publicity of PUMA etc. (Moore will likely need a lot of persuasion—but if, as w/Soros, if he really believes in his own documentaries, championing the ‘common man’, he should be able to see it from all sides too!) And SPRINGER already has been on MSNBC (Abrams) & FOX (don’t remember show), so he’s got a platform there already!:)
DNC & DEAN continues his silent treatment, thus also not wide publicity ab his tactics, etc. Need a way to bring all this out & loud to the public & MSM…I’m working on emails but dunno if it will get thru….Any thoughts out there…?
Finally, not to leave u all with only downers;) — If you, like me, miss not having HRC daily, and tho even if it was mainly negative coverage on TV, it was still a plus bc you got to see & hear her, & feel connected to her…sigh. Apparently, Mr. Obama has lost sight of the fact that his credibility is not in good standing with the American people. Insults leveled by the Illinois Senator against practically every aspect of the Democratic Party base, including the “sweetie” women, as evidenced by his pummeling by the “bitter” voters who set aside their bibles and guns long enough to reach for the ballot box, has produced a disenfranchised and fractured core which is destined to limp on to defeat in November. Certainly, the angry Michelle Obama, given her past anti-American rants, resulting from the indoctrination of her mind over many years by flame-throwing minister/priests, is not what Americans besides women are looking for in a role model. I read in today’s news that the Obama Camp is apparently conceding Ohio and Florida, stating that it can win the election without these two states. Unfortunately, the Obama Camp is wrong and for their information the list of “can’t win states” will continue to grow so that his backing may be dwindled to those fellow-elitists who scream and jump, waving “change” placards, during staged rallies. One of which was the one in Oregon where a huge Rock Concert was already happening along a popular river. And NObama was asked to come speak, which he did for only a few minutes but the media tried to make it appear as a huge rally for NObama. It’s going to take him alot longer than the 5 months til November to ‘change’ my mind.

Thank God all of our children aren’t addled by koolaid! I’m so proud of my son for standing up to his peers. Believe me, he’s been under a lot of pressure. My intention is to support Hillary in everyway possible.
