DAILY TALKING POINT, JUNE 16, 2008: PUMA PAC IS A PROTEST GROUP INSIDE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. WE ARE NOT CONNECTED WITH ANY CANDIDATE OR CAMPAIGN. WE ARE PROTESTING THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION FOR THE REASONS IN OUR CHARTER. WE ARE A RESISTANCE MOVEMENT CARRYING OUT OUR GOALS THROUGH PEACEFUL PROTEST AND FREE, DEMOCRATIC CITIZEN ACTION.

June 16, 2008
Howard Dean, Chairman
DNC
430 S. Capitol St. SE
Washington DC 20003Dear Gov. Dean,
With all due respect, I write as a deeply devoted Democrat who can no longer support my own party’s leadership or vote for the party’s presidential nominee. I have written to you out of frustration and anger, and now would like an opportunity to explain the basis of that frustration and anger as briefly as I can.
When you became the chairman of the DNC, you called on the Democratic Party to engage in a 50-state strategy that entailed listening to the concerns of voters in all 50 states, representing the interests of voters in all 50 states, and making a real effort to win votes in all 50 states. Your call for a commitment to that goal was commendable.
And yet that is not what is happening. The Obama campaign and many of the Democratic Party’s leaders have rationalized positions that have blocked the realization of that very goal and its underlying principles.
During the nomination process, Senator Obama and his campaign did not support counting all the votes in Michigan and Florida, did not accept a compromise plan that would have allowed new primaries in those states, and completely ignored the voters in states like Kentucky and West Virginia.
At the same time, the DNC and other powerful committees of the party did not investigate evidence of fraud or alleged disenfranchisement of entire groups in states that used caucuses to choose their delegates, did not apportion Michigan’s delegates appropriately as called for by the party’s rules (indeed, the RBC took four delegates from one candidate and gave them to another), and did not protest the many instances of media bias against and belittling of Senator Hillary Clinton until after the part of the nomination process involving primaries and caucuses had been completed and after many automatic delegates endorsed Senator Obama based on the results of those primaries and caucuses.
Your call for a 50-states strategy was based on an important principle of the Democratic Party that would enable us to elect Democrats to positions of power at all levels of our government. My concern now stems from what has happened to the principles that form the basis of our processes for speaking to our leaders and, indeed, for choosing them.
In effect, the party’s nominee was selected and advanced by means of a series of inappropriate actions and inactions. As a result, many deeply devoted Democrats, who, like me, have proudly called ourselves Democrats over the years and who have supported Democratic candidates with our votes and donations, are greatly distressed by a process that has amounted to abandoning our party’s principles of full democratic participation and fair reflection.
I regret to inform you that I will protest the 2008 presidential election and that I will not support our party in the future unless its leaders return to our core principles by means of which our party can once again legitimately represent us.
Sincerely,
Puma Democrat

UPDATE 6/16/08 at 1:19am: Great idea from antifish. Use this link to find Hillary donors in your zipcode. Follow antifish’s lead, “ I put my zip in and found at least eight people who have given to Hillary. I will make up a nice cover letter tomorrow and mail it out along with our flier inviting them to join us. I will also do the same with adjoining zips until I can cover about a twenty-five mile radius. I think this is not only a great way to recruit, but also, to start a local Puma support group. Here’s the link for the search site. It’s very easy to use. Find your Potential Puma Neighbors
UPDATE 6/16/08 at 11:06am: “ACTION ALERT FROM JUST SAY NO DEAL: Tune in to MSNBC @ APPROX. 11:45 AM TODAY. Good morning,
I am going to fax this as soon as I get to work. I think running their ink dry may get their attention. My fax will also show that I am a business owner and I mean business. I read an article this morning on Yahoo that “they” don’t think they need Ohio or Florida to win. They need to think again. Here’s the link;
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080616/ap_on_el_pr/candidates_strategy
I just faxed mine. Thanks for putting the letter together!
Hi Hillary Family,
I am sorry, but today my post is first. I just wanted to share a link to a fascinating story which I saw on Foxnews.com I laughed really hard. It’s about HBO claiming that he will win 270 required electoral votes without winning Florida and Ohio.
Here’s the link:
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/06/16/obama-oh-fl/ I hope that you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
Please sign this petition to NOT VOTE FOR HBO.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/pledge-to-vote-against-obama-in-the-general-election
This website asks for donations to retire Hillary’s debt.
http://www.actblue.com/page/retirethedebt WARNING: I don’t know if it will really go to Hillary. Hillary forum lists $25,000 at this point to retire her debt.
Oh, before I forget, just wanted to share this hysterical story with you. HBO was given a stick as a gift and said that if Congress won’t work with him, he’ll “whup ‘em”.
It’s similar to what he said about having a gun. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

I emailed mine this morning. I will also fax the letter when I get to work. Great letter. I will pass it along today, my daughter in Denver will also email and fax at work, she will pass it around too. Well done.
I sent letter to both email addresses…just to make sure!!
I just checked the donation map on Huffington Post, and the database must be incomplete. My wife and I donated money to Hillary, but our names didn’t come up. There’s probably more out there who aren’t in the database. It’s a great start, though, for reaching out to potential Pumas.
Be sure to vote in this poll!! You can only vote once (which is a good thing). Right now McCain is leading 54% to Obama’s 46.

#6 pumapride I donated to Hillary and it isn’t on there either.

Have a great day PUMAs.
Thank you again to everyone that has worked so hard on this.
For anyone that has ordered a T-shirt. When you get yours please take a picture so we can add it to our myspace page. It would be nice to get a bunch of pics of us wearing our T-shirts.
Can you give the link for the my space page thanks.
I will vote in any of the polls I know about, please post all of them, I know about the aol one, I go there and check a million times aday.
I plan on wearing my T-shirt to work, I work at a grooming shop in Brandon Fl.
Voted in the straw poll, and have the e-mail to Dean ready to go. Yet to order the mug, but will today.
Great job by all who have been creating the action center, writing letters, designing flyers and t-shirts. I sent my email to Howard Dean and will fax the letter today.
Here is link for our myspace page. Send it friends and family.

I voted in the straw poll.
I am going to be late for work. LOL
It is just hard to turn the computer off.
Did anyone see this article by Dean, Nervous Democrats?
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/11/nervous-democrats-dean-is-delighted/
sent the email to Dean, Tarrant Co. TX
Should Rev. James David Manning be considered a good guy? His speech is pretty strong and a bit controversial perhaps, but he seems to avidly support Hillary.
Thank you BrianKnoxville and Elaine for putting together a great letter to Howard Dean. I faxed and emailed mine this morning.
Also thanks to antifish for the terrific zip code site. I have cut and pasted the names into Clinton, Obama, McCain, and Other categories. Once I get specific letters together, I will contact them. It can’t hurt to contact possible NoName ppl with buyers remorse or Repubs that might cross over.
If anyone needs help finding zip codes for areas you want to check, I have a set of zip code books for the U.S. You can email me at utpuma.gmail.com and I’ll look it up for you.
Thanks again Murphy for this fabulous site, your great support to all of us, and to all the Americans here fighting for this country. As Hillary has said “this country is worth fighting for”.
Have a good day Pumas. Time to go to work.

Hey all, we need to reach these people! Read the news story on the link below titled “Will they end up supporting him”.
Here’s the link;
http://news.aol.com/elections
I hate to call on help but my schedule keeps me from doing some research for addresses on the below people. Some of these people won’t stand behind Obama I think it speaks volumes! Collin Powell, my hero!
Colin Powell, retired Army General;
“I will vote for the individual I think that brings the best set of tools to the problems of 21st-century America and the 21st-century world regardless of party, regardless of anything else other than the most qualified candidate.”
*********************************************
Armstrong Williams, talk show host;
“I don’t necessarily like his policies; I don’t like much that he advocates, but for the first time in my life, history thrusts me to really seriously think about it,” Williams said. “I can honestly say I have no idea who I’m going to pull that lever for in November. And to me, that’s incredible.”
********************************************
J. C. Watts, former Oklahoma congressman;
Watts said he’s thinking about voting for Obama, primarily because he feels the GOP continues to neglect issues that affect the black community, such as poverty and urban policy. “Republicans often seem indifferent to those things.”
*********************************************
Joseph C. Phillips, writer and actor;
“I am wondering if this is the time where we get over the hump, where an Obama victory will finally, at long last, move us beyond some of the old conversations about race,” Phillips said. “That possibly, just possibly, this great country can finally be forgiven for its original sin, or find some absolution.”
*********************************************
Michael Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland;
“While proud that a black man like Obama has come this far, Steele said electing him wouldn’t automatically solve all the problems in the African American community. “Come November, I will do everything in my power to defeat him.”
(this guy rocks!)
*********************************************
Edward W. Brooke, former Massachusetts senator
Brooke, who was the first African American popularly elected to the U.S. senate in 1966, won’t reveal who he’s voting for, but said he’s proud to see Obama’s rise in politics. “This is the most important election in our history,” Brooke said. “And with the world in the condition that it is, I think we’ve got to get the best person we can get.”
*********************************************
Can someone take the time to try to find contact info for these men?
Then let’s SWAMP them with emails!
Have a wonderful PUMA Day!
Our actions today will surely make an impression on Gov. Dean. I can’t imagine the DNC feeling good about what they’ve done to disenfranchise so many loyal Democrats. Bless each of my fellow PUMA’s for what you’ve done today to make our voices heard!!!
GM Everyone
We had no internet service for almost 2 days. When we called our provider, we got a message that PA and Chicago markets where down. My wife and I laughed and said Obama is on to us. LOL………..

Good Morning Pumas,
My email to Dean is off to Ilostmybrainistan! I have a fax machine that I disconnected after I got out of my recent business. I’ll definitely get it hooked back up today and fax the letter as well.
Thank you Brian Knoxville, Elaine and mpk for all your hard work on this project. To paraphrase Sean Hannity (who I kinda like these days, oddly enough)… You are great PUMA Americans!
Thanks Murphy for posting the into on the HuffPo search site. Here’s a great link where you can put your zip in and get all the surrounding ones. It allows you to zoom out as far as you want.

Sorry, not quite fully awake yet. Another of those late Puma nights.
#26 bythelake: Last night I got on to the Philly newspaer on-line to see how Obama is doing there. The paper only had one article with 5 comments, but I came across this comment. If this is true, why all the emphasis on Obama being the first Black president? Can anyone veryify the accuracy of the comment.
“Obama would not be the first Black-American president. He would be the first Arab-American president. Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab”

hi, the huffington site only lists donors over certain $ amount. i looked my zipcode up and found 21 donors with addresses and plan to mail them a flyer and perhaps a personal note so we can possibly get a local group of PUMAS going. if everyone didi this we could expand our base which is the only way to succeed.
i have a grandchild in my lap so no caps
Sent my e-mail. This letter would be good in full page ad’s in major newspapers in FL and MI!
Sent my email letters to Dean. Brilliant work, authors.
Regarding “original sin…absolution” (Comments referred to earlier by Joseph C. Phillips-actor, etc.) First of all–not my sin. I perform penance/mission work every day I go to work in my inner city school system. His presidency won’t solve the profound international and economic problems we face today. The comment by Phillips is not a good enough reason to pull that lever his way.
I know–off the subject–just hit me weird.
Gonna’ go vote on the straw poll now.
Thanks, Murphy
Since my husband is the registered Democrat and not I; I had him read the letter and then give his approval to use his name instead of mine. I then emailed it using an email account I set up for spam mail. Plus, I printed out a copy for him to bring to work so he could FAX it, asap; which would be tomorrow since he is off today.
I hope we can make a difference
)
Cause CHANGE is on the way.
#3 – I saw that as well – They are running scared!!!!
Just wanted to check in quickly to let everyone know that I have sent the letter to Dean. Everyone have a good day.
#45 Flowerchild2,
I’ve often read that comment while blogging and really don’t think it means much. Obama’s father was Kenyan and Kenya is in Africa, his mother was American, so he’s African-American.

Have I mentioned today that I love you guys??
#50: antifish. Okay, thanks.
We love you back, Murphy!
Hi all, apparently Senator Obama believes that he can get into the White House with just the votes from David Plouffe, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Donna Brazile and –doesn’t need any of us- what a bunch of stubborn, narrow minded eggheads
Has everyone been contacting their state Democratic Party? I think we need to send the letter to them as well-make sure the local parties know what is up in other places besides la la land
antifish #50, agreed.
Folks, I never got time to recap the conference call yesterday in a post. Suffice to say that all of the groups involved have two things in common — will NOT support an Obama candidacy and are working our hearts out to get the message out, especially to the media.
The NJ dynamo, riverdaughter, has an intense and in-depth essay about the call, and about the coalition JustSayNoDeal. Comments are also v informative.

I have emailed the letter and faxed. I have forwarded the email to everyone I can think of.
Great work and thanks everyone!
EVERYONE vote in the AOL Straw Poll! BO is winning some states. CA, OR, WA, NY, DC, CT, IL, MD. GO VOTE!!

Obama’s trying to pitch a win without Florida and Ohio? Wow! It’s amazing that anyone in the party takes him seriously. I just don’t see a way he wins Georgia. I have a lot of family that live in the rural areas of the state and they are very conservative to moderate Democrats or Republicans. Needless to say, he’s not well liked by any of them. I don’t doubt he’ll do well in metro Atlanta and perhaps Savannah, but I don’t see his support going much further than that. This is a very Red state.
hill2thehill, beautiful quote. I’m posting it at the top of the page.
thank you.
I just emailed and faxed Howard Dean
Letter has been sent!! Also talk radio just went FM here in greenville, SC. So i will be emailing all the local jockeys and trying to get a mention for us on air!
Morning all, I sent my e-mail to my x-party leader. No grand children for me today yesrerday was a fun day the five year old shaved the seven year olds head.
Back to the subject at hand I do believe they think we are all going to get in line. I think that there are enough people that are mad as heck and will vote JM .
they’re thinkin wrong kids1627!
Sent email. Two questions:
1) Is this Ed guy the one to replace J.C?
http://hillaryclintonnews.blogspot.com/2008/06/help-defeat-john-kerry.html
2) Why BO camp needs training? What the purpose of the training?
The comments of trainees treated BO as everything that we need to save this Country. Realistically, the moths of campaigning so far have left serious divisions, instead of unity. I bet you BO is having headache already on how to deal with reality. Unity means you got to be able to work with all type of people, including your opponent. How will BO and Dean achieve Unity of the Party???
Antifish’s idea is a great one. I went to the site and found all of the people who funded Democratic presidential candidates this year. I now have 30 contacts. I will lobby the Hillary supporters to join us and spend the summer planting as many doubts in the heads of Obama supporters as I can. I’m working on a flyer about Obama today, so I’m sure I’ll be sending that out. Ooooooh, and postcards! Great idea. Thanks.
I just e-mailed my to Dean at both addys.
I just sent Howie his e-mail, I will fax it when I get home from work, which will hopefully be before 5pm EDT but if not, they can see it first thing in the morning, Scottsdale Az
Good Morning All!
Great letter to Dean.
Got an email this morning about a typo in a flyer. I don’t see it in the flyers I’m using. Just the same, please check to see that DNC isn’t DNA.
I’ll be back shortly with my bragging actions.
Political had an article today saying why arn’t they falling inline behind Obama.
I think I will send them an e-mail and tell them to come to pumas and we will give them 100 reasons why;)
Stay strong pumas!
Happy Monday, PUMAs
Here we gooooooooooo !!!
* Emailed letter to both of Howie’s email addresses.
* Printed one out to take to Staples and fax today.
(Fabulous job Brian, Elaine, and mpk! Thank you.)

by the lake ~ I will write a thank you to Michael Steele today. He does ROCK !!
Carpe diem, PUMAs !
Thanks for ALL you do.

I just e-mailed my letter from Texas.
Good Morning PUMAs, The DNC is really underestimating the dissatisfaction of the 18,000,000 Sen. Cllinton supporters with the Democratic Party. It’s 2000 all over again. But the difference is, this time it’s the DNC using unfair tactics. I just read an article in New York Magazine by John Heileman titled “The Fall and RISE of Hillary Clinton.” It’s a good, insightful piece in which he thinks she is more powerful now than when she started her campaign. One line got to me”What strikes me as inarguable is that Hillary is a more resonant, consequential, and potent figure than she has ever been before.” In the piece Ann Lewis, Sen. Clinton’s adviser points out that “since March 1, she got more than 500,000 more votes, at a time that she was being outspent by two to one. She’s got a significant nationwide following that is unusual in that it is both broad and deep.” John Heileman interviewed Sen. Clinton and followed her around for this piece. His conversations with her (in HER own words) are quoted in this article. Other writers are writing about “her fall” but Heileman is writing about how she has actually risen (in stature). It lays it all out there and I think it is fair piece. http://nymag.com/news/politics/47837/
God morning PUMAs – Here is an interesting excerpt from a book by Lee Iacocca_ sorry for the length but it speaks to what we’re about……………
“‘The world is a dangerous place to live-not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it,’ -
Albert
Einstein
Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes. He’s now 82 years old and has a new book, and here are some excerpts.
Lee Iacocca Says:
‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our
outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder.
We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car.
But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course’
Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the bumsout!’
You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off
my rocker, and maybe I have. But some one has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the’ America’ my parents and
yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?
I’ll go a step further. You can’t call yourself a
patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have.
The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis ! (Iacocca elaborates
on nine Cs of leadership, crisis being the first.)
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory.
Or send someone else’s kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a
steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A Hell of a Mess, so here’s where we stand. We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble. Our
borders are like sieves. The middle class is being squeezed every which way. These are times that cry out for leadership.
But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of charac ter, courage, conviction, omnipotence and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland
security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo? We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.
Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a
single day evaluating the response to the hurricane, or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm.
Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed,
hoping it doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking
creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t
elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?
Had Enough?
Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom
here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope. I believe in America. In my lifetime
I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America’s greatest moments. I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: the ‘Great Depression’, ‘World War II’, the ‘Korean War’, the ‘Kennedy Assassination’, the ‘Vietnam War’, the 1970s oil crisis and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this:
‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s
building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a call to ‘Action’ for people who, like me, believe in America. It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and
go to work. Let’s tell ‘em all we’ve had ‘enough.’”
send this to everyone you know and care about. It’s our country folks, and it’s our future. Our future is at stake!
Hillary spoke to many of the points he is making & look what happened – she got thrown under the bus with the rest of it………………..
Yes, will write the letters today. Great letter!
Also am putting videos together. In wanting to target young people, I put this eery video together to appeal to the younger masses.

Yesterday we had a posting that Will Brower, one of the original organizers of “justsaynodeal’ is being interviewed at 11 am today on MSNBC. I can’t find that post now, and can’t find their list of guests on the web, but I have my TV on to MSNBC and ready to record.
OK, I faxed it too, am going to be late but I am so pissed off about the arrogance of BO’s campaign. WTF? They can win w/o white older women, Clinton democrats and now they can just not worry about Fl and Mi? How do you spell arrogance?
Elaine — thank you! I was just about to type that reminder!
Will Bowers from Party Unity My Ass (no relation, but we are in the same coalition and working for roughly the same goals) will be interviewed on Monica Novotny’s show on MSNBC this morning at 11:00am eastern.
Please watch if you can and report back.
#47 Susie-fantastic letter!! thank so you much!
the church bo was “preaching” at yesterday was the apostolic church of God. found it on his site.

Just faxed it! GREAT idea! I’ll also email when I get home from work and work on getting in touch with some of the donors on the Huffingtonpost list. Although I agree with everyone else, it’s not current but it is a start! Go Pumas!

Thanks for posting that! GREAT stuff!
QUESTION:Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
Answer: SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON
I LOVE this final quote:
‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s
building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a call to ‘Action’ for people who, like me, believe in America. It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORD!!!
Listen to the lyrics of this song called, yep, LOUDER THAN WORDS. “Why do we follow leaders who never lead?” is my fave line.

Just faxed to both numbers. Waiting for Will Bowers on MSNBC.

Some of us yesterday were blogging about getting a comprehensive “talking points’ document together that we all can add to and can quote from when we need a specfic fact or clearly stated point. Anyway … someone was collecting examples of sexism from the campaign, and I’m trying to gather factual statements on disenfranchisement. [next time, I'm picking a shorter word ...]. Anyway, I’d love to start posting pieces of this so we can all work on it. Anyone else with time today, please add specifc points and facts that you’ve used. [probably be good if we could cite references when needed.]
I’m recording MSNBC and waiting for Wil’s interview.
Lyrics to song linked above: LOUDER THAN WORDS
JONATHAN
Why do we play with fire?
Why do we run our finger through the flame?
Why do we leave our hand on the stove,
Although we know, we’re in for some pain?
Oh, why do we refuse to hang a light,
When the streets are dangerous?
Why does it take an accident,
Before the truth gets through to us?
Cages or wings,
Which do you prefer?
Ask the birds
Fear or love, baby
Don’t say the answer
Actions speak louder than words
Why should we try to be our best
When we can just get by and still gain?
Why do we nod our heads
MICHAEL and JONATHAN
Although we know
MICHAEL
The boss is wrong as rain?
JONATHAN
Why should we blaze a trail
When the well worn path Seems safe and
JONATHAN and SUSAN
So inviting?
SUSAN
How, as we travel, can we
JONATHAN and SUSAN
See the dismay
And keep from fighting?
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Cages or wings, Cages or wings,
Which do you prefer?
Ask the birds Ah:
ALL
Fear or love, baby
Don’t say the answer
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Actions speak louder than Louder than, louder than:
Words
What does it take
To wake up a generation?
ALL
How can you make someone
Take off and fly?
JONATHAN
If we don’t wake up
And shake up the nation
We’ll eat the dust
Of the world wondering why
SUSAN
Why do we stay with lovers
SUSAN and JONATHAN
Who we know, down deep
SUSAN
Just aren’t right?
JONATHAN
Why would we rather
ALL
Put ourselves through hell
Than sleep alone at night?
JONATHAN
Why do we follow leaders who never lead?
MICHAEL
Why does it take catastrophe to start a revolution
MICHAEL and SUSAN
If we’re so free?
Tell me why
JONATHAN
Someone tell me why
So many people bleed
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Cages or wings, Cages or wings,
Which do you prefer?
Ask the birds Ah:
ALL
Fear or love, baby
Don’t say the answer
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Actions speak louder than Louder than, Louder than,
Louder than, Louder than
ALL
Cages or wings,
Which do you prefer?
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Ask the birds Ah:
ALL
Fear or love, baby
Don’t say the answer
JONATHAN MICHAEL AND SUSAN
Actions speak louder Louder than, Louder than
They speak louder Louder than, Louder than
Actions speak louder than words!
Thanks Hill2the Hill
FYI – I think some of the kool aid may be starting to wear off or evaporate – in today’s paper – David Brooks of the NYT (one of *61′s fawners earlier) wrote an interesting op-ed piece about the anointed one….the article is about education & the 2 camps the Dems have come up with & basically says the question of the week is”Which camp is *61 in?” & answer is “depends in part on what month it is”. Are some of these cheerleaders finally starting to do what they should have done months ago – which is: vet this idiot…..my god – I’m not a genius or whatever – but I recognized the emptiness of *61 when I heard his speech at the Dem convention – I said great speech now what? I’m still waiting for the what……………….Hillary, Hillary, Hillary – we need you desperately in the race – I’m still committed to doing everything I can (within reason & legally) to prevent *61 from becoming the nominee and/or president…………………….

Good morning Puma! Colorado is in the house!
Just did my bit and sent the letters out via email and fax….Dean’s fax machine is probably non stop this morning
I should have given credit for the song lyrics, Louder than Words: Jonathan Larson from the Musical “Tick…Tick…Boom”. He also wrote “Rent”.
I love the Mahatma Ghandi quote, too, Murphy! Someone else had posted and I saved it. SO true.
I have started to collect relevent quotes, and I think will start a list of songs, too. There are so many that can apply!
Sent my letter vis e-mail…will be faxing as well. Thank you for keeping this going. We need our voice..

I sent the letter to Howard, will it count if I changed my party last week?
Just emailed my letters – am leaving to go fax the letters at the library – no fax here at home – talk to you all later………………………….
Emailed my letter to Howard and will fax later today from work. Happy Monday to you all! I’m hoping Howard will have a headache all week after this Monday…
Thanks to the earlier posting on this great article — The Fall and Rise of Hlliary Clinton.”
http://nymag.com/news/politics/47837/
Here are a couple of paragraphs from it …
It would be hard to overstate the private pessimism that Hillary and Bill Clinton feel about Obama’s general-election prospects. Or the irritation they feel about the dismissive attitudes of some of his advisers toward her coalition, as evinced by the words of Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, after the Pennsylvania primary: “The white working class has gone to the Republican nominee for many elections … This is not new that Democratic candidates don’t rely solely on those votes.”
But the Clintons’ frustration with Obama’s people pales beside the simmering anger they harbor toward the media. And in this they are not alone. For months now, my e-mail box has been full of messages from women across the country, explaining what Hillary’s run meant to them, why it was so important. The reasons vary depending on age and race and region, but the one element almost all my correspondents express in common is a furious resentment at the press for what they see as blatant misogyny in the coverage of Clinton.

That article stating BO can win w/out Fl and OH is comical. Good grief, one of the statement from his camp is “there’s many ways to win”…uhhh, should read there are many ways we can manipulate the votes.
BTW Murphy – read the comments on riverdaughter – thanks to all for the information on how all of this came together – there’s a saying that “great minds think alike” – I think that means -ALL OF US – sorry for the caps but ….again, thank you & the rest of the PUMAs for all of your hard work -it’s very much appreciated but I want to bring up again…..not all of us old, white, bitter, clingy women (and men) are computer literate or even have them – we need to reach out & try to capture the rest of them…..I’ m still trying to get a letter published in the paper – maybe will try to put together something from what’s been written here …. if it works, I have no problem emailing that letter to every newspaper in Minnesota………..any suggestions anybody????
Maria, that is very interesting information. But I would assume that any candidate would have to submit legal documentation when registration as a candidate. And this information would be verified by someone.

Also, I just sent the following email to Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, who thinks we’ll all fall into line behind Obama:
Senator Stabenow,
Your comment that there is no doubt in your mind that people (i.e. Hillary Clinton supporters) are going to rally around Senator Obama is absolutely wrong. There are millions of us who will not; you can visit the Just Say No Deal website (http://www.justsaynodeal.com/) to view the growing list of coalition members who will not support Senator Obama.
There are a multitude of reasons why we won’t. Visit the coalition sites, read the comments, and believe what we are saying.
None of us will vote for Senator Obama in November. Some of us will simply not vote for President. Some will vote for a third-party candidate. Some will write in Senator Clinton’s name. And some, like me, will do what we once thought impossible, and will vote for John McCain.
The Democratic Party has destroyed itself. It has become all that is wrong about politics. You have given us a candidate who is so unqualified to be President as to be laughable, if it weren’t so frightening. The take-over of the party by Senator Obama, with apparently the tacit approval of you and your colleagues, is almost complete. The disenfranchisement of millions of voters, the removal of delegates who may not want to vote for YOUR candidate, the relocation of the DNC to allow for greater control by Obama, the manipulation of all funds to go directly to Obama so he may dole money out to who he chooses (perhaps I should say to whomever obeys him unquestioningly), the silence of the DNC at the sexism and misogyny perpetrated against Senator Clinton and her supporters by the media and the Obama campaign, the vote stealing by the RBC – I simply do not comprehend why all of you are so willing to destroy the party in this way. I don’t know what you all have been promised, but I hope it was worth selling your soul for.
I have changed my affiliation to Independent. As despicable as the thought, I will also vote for John McCain in November. Since you are so intent on destroying the Democratic Party, I hope that my vote for McCain in November can help you finish your work. Then, perhaps, we can rebuild the party – without you and your colleagues as part of it – and make it great again.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxx

Good morning, and thank everyone who has contributed to our goals. I did the Howard the Coward letters (2) and faxes (4) this am. The 202-863-8174 fax number is the correct one according to other sites’ emails I received. Just to be safe, I sent them to both fax numbers and they went through.
I have been using the CHAT feature of gmail to talk directly to some of our members about strategies and ideas. It is so much easier and faster when you want to communicate with just one person than posting here. The posts here are getting longer and longer, nice huh?
The post upstream about OUTRAGE is exactly what I have been advocating and not understanding why there is not OUTRAGE about the hijacking of an election in what is supposed to be a free nation – by any party! Does anybody think that the founding fathers were only a little tepid when they planned the Tea Party or the revolution? I have researched for many decades and have ancestors who were Patriots in the Revolution and I can say unequivocally that they were OUTRAGED, stayed OUTRAGED and won. They used that anger to solidify and to strategize actions that won our freedom for us. I can also say that my father, who under and underage soldier in WWII, would be OUTRAGED and very sad at the acceptance without question of the goings on right now. They fought to make and keep us free – we must be OUTRAGED enough to get up and take our country back.
Many thanks to Brian for the DNC letter. I have sent the emails & faxes to Howard Dean.

BRAGGING RIGHTS, BRAGGING RIGHTS
I am part of an email group made up of 5 former co-workers. They are all nobama supporters except me of course. In the past, I would have the typical nobama discussions with them — you know the kind where obots get defensive and mad. I had started avoiding the subject with them.
This morning, I’m feeling a little frisky (empowered by PUMApac) so I engaged them with a little nobama humor. I immediately noticed that the email responses weren’t flying back at me. I thought I was being ignored. After a few minutes, an email response came back with questions instead of nobama propaganda. Using some of the calmer tactical comments from this blog site, I responded. No email responses. Then, I received two emails stating that while I’m right …
“WHILE I’M RIGHT…!!!” That is unbelievable inroad with this email group. Some obots are starting to think for themselves.
I also faxed and emailed my letter to Dean.
My boss is on vacation so I’m going to take advantage of the extra time to press harder on the puma action activities.
I almost emailed two different letters to Howard the Coward this am. Please don’t send me back to typing school, my fingers do not work right and can not keep up with my thoughts. Corrections:

Misogyny I Won’t Miss, May 15, 2008
“I will not miss the deafening, depressing silence of Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean or other leading Democrats, who to my knowledge (with the exception of Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland) haven’t publicly uttered a word of outrage at the unrelenting, sex-based hate that has been hurled at a former first lady and two-term senator from New York. Among those holding their tongues are hundreds of Democrats for whom Clinton has campaigned and raised millions of dollars. Don Imus endured more public ire from the political class when he insulted the Rutgers University women’s basketball team.
….But for all Clinton’s political blemishes, the darker stain that has been exposed is the hatred of women that is accepted as a part of our culture.”

Murphy (PUMA PAC) got it right in her Talking Points on 6-15-2008: “Not once during this campaign did Barack Obama or Howard Dean stand up against the sexist attacks on Senator Clinton. Not once did they say to the media, their supporters, and the country: ‘Stop this nonsense!”

Ladies, especially for those of us a little older, she did a great job as her letter/article is directed to OB.

The Howard Dean letters are 1/2 done (formatted) on letterhead paper and should be finished by tomorrow.
I faxed and e-mailed the dear howard letter. It only took a few minutes.
I haven’t had time to read all the posts this morning so I don’t know if this has been addressed but on one of the cable shows they were saying that BO had won back a substantial number of the women’s vote after Hillary suspended her campaign. I don’t believe this especially with the daily gallup poll being a virtual tie for McCain and BO. Does anybody have any other info on this?
I’m completely outraged. I can’t believe that this is going on in 2008! Howard Dean is a criminal for robbing us of our 18 million votes.
I will never forget or fall in line!
Watched Will Bower on MSNBC and he made some good points about the coalition being independent thinkers and having varied strategies for the fall election. Host cut him off he made these points.
WAY TO GO, WILL
Oh, I was so proud of our Will. He was on sooo briefly, but really clear.
1. he started with condolences about Russert
2. talked about the coalition and differentiated it from his personal views
3. asked if he would support any Republican over BO, said he personally prefers McCain to Obama specifically
4. said some in coalition have other strategies, like write-ins.
5. asked about Clinton as VP, he said most don’t want that, but no specific plan on a response — we can’t wait any longer for others to make decisions.
Oh, he was good … Thanks, Will — for being out there and for talking about the whole coalition.
#107 What hospital was he supposedly born in?
Correction: Host cut him off after he made these points.
watched MSNBC..think Will Bower got maybe 2 min of air time. However it is quality not quantity as they say. I’m frankly surprised MSNBC even had us on.
Just got an email from a Puma in Arizona who still cant get on the comments board because of password woes.
Here’s what she wrote:
“Still can get into the wordpress to blog, but wanted you all to know I faxed the letter to Dean at 8:59 AZ this AM. So at least one letter for Arizona. Have a great day.
VJ in AZ”
IMHO they basically are not counting on FL because Hillary’s mandate with 1.74 votes in the primary will not allow them to have success. They can not buy the votes there or rig the voting process because in FL we have been so stung by the collusion of the Bushs/Katherine Harris when the election was stolen in 2000; even those who were for Bush did not condone these actions. Also, FL voters do not align with his Marxist socialist black liberation values – actually those values are in direct opposition to most people because he is by far the most left leaning liberal in the Senate.
Yeah, independent thinkers that would describe FL voters nicely.
anonymous on 06.16.08 at 6:45 am Hi Hillary Family,
…This website asks for donations to retire Hillary’s debt.
http://www.actblue.com/page/retirethedebt WARNING: I don’t know if it will really go to Hillary. Hillary forum lists $25,000 at this point to retire her debt.

Hi Anon! I think that website was started by Heidi Li Feldman from Heidi Li’s blog spot, but I could be mistaken. If you are in doubt about the site or where the money goes, you could just go to Heidi Li’s blog spot and send her a message to confirm, or just donate through one of her ‘PAY DOWN THE DEBT’ links on her blog spot site, which actually take you directly to the HRC.com donation page through her special link. And I can assure you that Heidi Li is legitimate and has an inside track with the campaign!

To say they (Obama Campagin) do not need FL and OH to win, is an insult to those voters. Just one more step closer McCaine is to the White House!
Sent my letters to HD, and thank you Shorttermer for you #108 post. Your right, we should be outraged and all 18 million supporters should be outraged as well.
Good Morning Puma Family
I sent my emails and faxes first thing this am to
H. Dean. I am in the State of Minni-Snow-Da!
I sent to both email addys and both fax#’s.
I hope all of them go good with his morning coffee (or Latte). Also sent a set for my parents – Seniors and have no access to Internet or use it (MN too).
Suggestion – Would it be possible to get poll question posted on – On The Record with Greta -especially about the FL and MI comment….she was (is?) a Hillary
supporter and I believe she would really get into this. Especially if it is coming from PUMAPAC the organization. If Justsaynodeal got on Hannity & Colmes we can get on Greta.
To “sassysenora” how about Geraldo for some exposer about the Latino/Spanish voters and that statement made about Hillary that you posted yesterday? I always thought he was close to the Hispanic family and their opinions/values. Just a thought.
Wondering if it would be possible to have a “general letter” to the superdelegates of why we are asking for their support (by supported Hillary, crossed over from Hillary to “The Chosen One”, Undecided and even maybe ones supported “The Chosen One”?) that we could use and then depending on the state we could add additional information that pertained to that state and why we are asking for their support i.e. FL & MI.
I do not get on here that much and do not always have time to read all post…..so if this already being worked on or available let me know.
I can try and do my own to send but it takes me forever cause I KEEP tweaking it – have hard time condensing but get to the facts….some ppl do not have much of an attention span that I am sending to!
Will be emailing those for fliers cause I (& my parents) plan on passing them out whenever we are out and about.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Thanks Murphy for all you do on here….and to Brian/Elaine and the others on getting that letter composed for us to send out.

Times Takes Anti-Hillary “Sexism” Charges Seriously
Prodded by feminists, the Times and the rest of the media wonder if its coverage of Hillary was sexist and unfair, while admitting to “euphoric” converage of Obama.
Posted by: Clay Waters 6/13/2008 11:29:33 AM
As Times Watch has amply documented, the New York Times went along with the rest of the mainstream press in clearly favoring Barack Obama in its primary coverage. But Friday’s front page carried one last valentine to the Hillary Clinton campaign, “Critics and News Executives Split Over Sexism in Clinton Coverage,” by Katharine Seelye and Julie Bosman. The Times treated with respect allegations of media sexism from feminist supporters of Hillary, though it didn’t fully endorse the allegations.
Angered by what they consider sexist news coverage of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, many women and erstwhile Clinton supporters are proposing boycotts of the cable networks, putting up videos on a “Media Hall of Shame,” starting a national conversation about sexism and pushing Mrs. Clinton’s rival, Senator Barack Obama, to address the matter.
If ya’ll have not checked it out yet, our new ‘Action Center’ is up and running, albeit under major construction on and ongoing basis (and when I can find time! LOL!). If you have any letters, flyers, or links of interest or to petitions you’d like me to upload/add to the Action Center, just email them to pa4hill08.puma@gmail.com. I’ll be working on the site again tonight and over the weekend so I’l hold all the stuff you send me til then. Thanks!

Keep on a growling PUMAs! We’re gonna get-r-done!
good morning friends, I just sent my letter to Howard Dean !!! Hope he gets thousands today !!
Good morning PUMA DEMS AND hill-fans
I just sent my letter to MR DEAN and now i be posting the link everywhere i can to ensure that he gerts at least 10,000 letters today or more
emailed and faxed. I don’t have a lot of time or resources to make my voice heard. I am thankful to those of you who work hard to keep me from being invisible. I think there are many people, like me, who are a quiet majority. You may not hear them until Nov.
Happy to have sent letter to Dean today, my variant:
I urgently request that you make the repair of our Party’s Primary elections process; so that our candidate for President reflects the majority will of the people, a top item of your agenda as DNC Chairman.
This year, in effect, the party’s nominee was selected and advanced by means of a series of well known inappropriate actions and inactions. As a result, deeply devoted and active Democrats like me feel greatly distressed by a process that has amounted to abandoning our party’s principles of full democratic participation and fair reflection.
I therefore protest the 2008 presidential election. Unless the necessary changes and reforms are made to prevent a recurrence of these events I can not give my full support to our party in the future. Thus I urgently request you do your utmost to persuade our party’s leaders to return to its core principles so that once again it legitimately represents all of us.
Sincerely,
from an email I received from the great state of Ohio:
” Hi,
I am registered and do not recall my password.? I have tried repeatedly to get a new one, but the link does not work. I emailed the letter to Howard Dean.
Trumbull County
Ohio
Oh, and good luck winning without Ohio–won’t happen.”
HELP!!!!!
I am stuck at work and left the Clinton campaign conference call information this afternoon at my house! Could someone please send me the call in number and code please.
Please email it to pa4hill08@pumapacusa.org.
Thank you in advance!
WELL — i just 5 more letters
from my dada-father in law-two sisters -and hubby –
THX murphy
My emails to Dean are off and will fax the letter in a few hours.
Thank you Brian for heading this up.
At me bussiness place -i have 3 differnt faxes ,so i am gonna fax at least 10 letters –from myself, sisters, dad, hubby and few employees.
Lunchtime break …
ok .. a break from all the work of the morning for a couple tidbits –
1. Obama spoke at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago on Sunday.
2. I’ve done some browsing this morning — all of the minister’s taped sermons have been removed from their site and from itunes.
3. This church is part of Apostolic Pentecostal churches world-wide
http://apostolic-pentecostal-churches.net/
It is a group that leans towards fundamentalism and literal belief that only baptized Christians go to heaven. If Obama is thinking of this as a new church home, he could find it more controversial than the U.C.C. church he just left.
This is a part of their belief –
“Pentecostal” simply means that we believe in the Pentecostal experience which is speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. Further, we believe to be saved we must have obeyed the basic and fundamental gospel message in the Bible in Acts 2:38 that tells us that we need to “repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”.
Brian and Elaine, Thank you for all your efforts on our part for helping us get the shout out to Dean that” Hell no, No Obama”. I got the letter to Dean e-mailed this morning around 11:00 am central time. It also went out in the regular mail this AM. Off to the Dr now but will return to see what else I can do this afternoon. Thank you everyone.
Thanks to Brian and Murphy. I faxed Dean at both numbers and also e-mailed him at both addresses. I absolutely am disgusted with the hostile takeover of our party by these crooks. Also the fact that Hillary may not even be allowed to be on the ballot in Denver. Hope the Million or more person march puts a stop to that. By the way, on that AOL poll, I can’t get it to refresh, even after the new poll starts. It always says I voted for McCain.
sesaz, you are EXACTLY right. That is why our Protest the Election message is making people nervous. The loud and defiant actions we are doing here together help get us noticed, keep us organized and they do effect change –but never forget — we ARE pumas: we act quietly, and alone, out of view. The silent, profound actions we will take on November 4th will force the outcome of the presidential election.
thank you for checking in and letting us see you for a sec.
Done!
I modified the letter a little (deleted some of the spaces between the paragraphs) to get it down to one page. Sorry. I’m poor these days. I emailed it to both addresses. I don’t plan to vote for Ostuckup, but it won’t matter much as Washington state is very blue. I’m a 58 year-old hippie and I love re-igniteing to old protest flames.
I also sent a snail mail to Howie yesterday as well.
I mailed my letter to Dean to both email addresses. Thanks to Brian for your hard work and thank you for sending me the letter in letter form.

Outraged is exaclty what I am. At this point it has absolutely nothing to do with sexism, racism, or any other ‘ism’, or Senator Clinton or the no named one – it’s got everything to do with watching our democratic principles be trampled under by greed and blatant lust for power. Not only is that wrong in my book, but it is down right scary. And I for one, have often of late been thinking about how a wave of outrage won this very nation it’s freedom from tyrany. Tea party anyone? The way this primary has been handled by the DNC elites, the media, and some so-called super delegates is borderline tyranical and it must be quashed. We the people should not and cannot stay silent in the face of ithis blatant disregard for our rights as US citizens and voters. We must be constantly vigilent, and never let these politicians forget that they are supposed to be serving US, not the other way around. As the late Martin Luther King once said – “our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” So I for one have decided to turn my outrage into action and here I am with all you fine, like-minded people!
And the award for Most Self-Aggrandizing, Back-Handed, Leftist Hack “Tribute” to a Dead Colleague goes to…

#130 MCR. Read the article. It’s a start perhaps. I disagree with Obama giving a speech on sexism. I hope Clinton supporters are not suggesting that as the article indicated. Senator Clinton needs to give the speech. What does Obama know about sexism? He is himself sexist. It wasn’t just about sexism, in my opinion. It was Clinton hatred by the Media, slanting coverage to favor one candidate over the other. The media is going to do their best to deny it. They are like a corrupt police force, attempting to investigate themselves, and that never works. An outside agency has to come in and investigate police corruption; an outside investigative agency is needed for the media. . Even now they minimize their participation. MSNBC attempted to affect voter participation, Andrea Mitchell, telling people their votes don’t count, Obama has won anyway. This was more than sexism. The media has totally abused their power and needs to be held accountable. I have written numerous e-mails since Super Tuesday to CNN, MSNBC, Morning Joe, Matthews, Olberman, and Fox. It was total abuse of power by the media. On line articles by MSNBC, CNN, New York Times, NBC – - equally as irresponsible, offensive, and UNTRUE!! The media is corrupt.
Good morning all (PDT) and thank you, Murphy, for all that you do. You were busy overnight from the looks of the beginning of the thread. Just a heads up, folks. Go the Federal Elections Commissions. Hillary donors are listed in each state, city, and town. Its much more comprehensive, but only goes through the first quarter of the year. I wasn’t on the link above (checked both Oregon and Washington) and it was for “big” donors. I’m contacting people in my town that did early donations. Will mail or e-mail them a PUMA flier. I do know of others who were supporters, but not necessarily donors and they will get the same information. E-mailed the Dean letter 3xs (party website, and the two e-mail addresses above). Have a great day everyone.
Howdy, PumaPals!
Emailed and faxed the letter to Howard Dean, both fax nos., both email addresses. Thanks, again, Brian!

re: Geraldo
he may but that happened just before the Nevada caucuses. it was very early in the campaign. it seems like if he was going to do a story, he would have done it then.
if he were going to be upset about something that was offensive to the Hispanic (Mexican/SW USA) community, you’d think he would have been upset about Obama using “si, se puede.” maybe he was. i don’t watch Geraldo.

Ms. Quindlen,
While you made some very valid pointers to Senator Obama, who is only the Presumptive Nominee, you seem to speak for all of us and I very much resent that. There are a huge number of us gathered within more than 80 groups under one umbrellas group named
justsaynodeal.com and we ain’t buying what you are selling. There are some will take a myriad of actions and voting for Obama is not one – not even if Hillary is on the ticket [unless of course she is on top of the ticket - and even than I would have to hold my nose with his name there]. And, there is a massive number of those like me who will vote McCain in November. Those like me have warned DNC/Dean/Pelosi/Reid/Brazile time and again that our choice is Clinton or McCain; they seem to have made their choice. Reject the SELECTED; respect the ELECTED- the nomination was hijacked by 30 RBC members who substituted their own judgment in place of the will of over 2.3 million voters in MI and FL – the party left us and not the other way around-actually Donna Brazile threw us under the bus. The DNC violated its own charter and Constitution in several ways including failing to carry out Fair Reflection.
I respectfully ask for you either to write a retraction or write a separate article to provide readers with the information I cited above. I am but 1 of 18 million and we are united.

Just checked the PUMAPAC action site. Fantastic. Thanks so much.
Shorttermer#155. YOU ARE GOOD!!!
My husband emailed this message to H Dean and I forwarded it to other people who will do the same.
H. Dean, because of your “no-vision-for-the-democracic-party” policy and for allowing Sen. Clinton to be dragged through dirt and garbage by the media and Sen. Obama and his “supporters”, and for allowing Sen. Obama to arrogantly hijack the nomination, and for allowing all this to happen when you know (or do you?) that Sen. Obama will in no way be able to cross the roadblock that will be set up by the republican party (not necessarily Sen. McCain, they’ve done it before against better-qualified nominee’s right?)???,
PLEASE SAY HELLO TO SOMEONE WHO, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE, WILL VOTE REPUBLICAN!
And you know what, Sen. McCain is not as bad as Bush, he’s moderate, a true gentleman, common sense, knowledgeable, humble, experienced, bipartisan. Every time I research him I like him more and more.
THANK YOU DNC AND THANK YOU OBAMA CAMP AND MEDIA for forcing me into the McCain camp. I think I’ll like it and so far they appreciate me greatly!!!
First choice: Hillary Clinton
Second choice: John McCain
Is this clear enough to you???? And if you think I’m the only one out here voting for McCain, think again.
Has anyone heard if Hillary received any of the ““I AM ONE OF 18 MILLION” thank you cards we sent her at her senate office bldg?
Just watched a video clip on Yahoo! video about BO’s lackluster show in the polls even though the primary is now over. AP’s take on the matter is: 1) he’s relatively an unknown candidate; 2) he’s black and most Americans are still grappling with that. ARE THEY KIDDING ME!!! AP have been in the tank for him throughout this primary and now even they are playing the race baiting thing.
Uhhh, maybe the reason is he’s inexperienced, arrogant, a coward for sitting in that church, and a liar when it comes to his “friendly” association with shady people. Do they really think we’re that stupid? Jeez.
I just now faxed our own letter to H Dean, very well written, thanks to Brian Knoxville, Elaine and mpk
and also thank you to Murphy for helping all of us to speak up and guiding us.

Murphy, May I make a suggestion? Instead of emailing graphics, which I may not find for a while with the number of emails I get, place these kinds of things online/on site so we can access them if we need to. I have to download and then open with Acrobat any pdf that is sent and it is time consuming – and time is not a luxury that we have. I made a poster using the graphics I just received via email some time ago – I liked it too.
Also, the email showed our real names, is that something that we want? Just asking……….
I watched msnbc I thought he did a good job but I was mad as hell that they put him on late and cut him off before he was finished!
(June 16 2008) Need A Concrete List of Reasons Why Democrats Are Leaving the Party
——————————————————————————–
We have not seen this anywhere yet, and are trying to put it together today.
We need a concrete list of reasons WHY people who have been lifelong Democrats are leaving the party today.
A list of reasons WHY we feel the Democrats are no longer Democrats, and the party under Obama is not the Democratic Party we thought we knew.
We need SPECIFIC reasons, tied to specific dates, quotes, etc. and not just generaliztions.
For instance:
(1) The treatment of Geraldine Ferraro, former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, for criticizing Obama
(2) May 31st 2008: the DNC’s Rules & Bylaws Committee stripping 4 delegates from Hillary Clinton and awarding them to Barack Obama, when he took himself off the ballot in Michigan.
(3) Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Donna Brazile orchestrating Hillary Clinton’s ouster from the primary race, before the Convention, when male candidates in the past such as Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson were allowed to carry their nominating fight all the way to the Convention.
(4) June 2008: Relocating the DNC to Chicago to be absorbed by the Obama campaign machine
If we can create a truly detailed and specific list like this, we will all be taken more seriously, because we can continuously point to it as the list of reasons why we no longer consider ourselves part of the Democratic Party — because, in essence, the Democratic Party no longer exists as we know it. It’s the Obama Party now, and it’s leaving lifelong Democrats out.

June 15, 2008): “The Fall & Rise of Hillary Clinton” (NY Mag) – Hillary Defends Her Supporter’s Rage About Sexist Media!
——————————————————————————–
http://www.nymag.com/news/politics/47837/
Hillary is fearless and on target! She gets it and she gets us!
Quote:
But the Clintons’ frustration with Obama’s people pales beside the simmering anger they harbor toward the media. And in this they are not alone. For months now, my e-mail box has been full of messages from women across the country, explaining what Hillary’s run meant to them, why it was so important. The reasons vary depending on age and race and region, but the one element almost all my correspondents express in common is a furious resentment at the press for what they see as blatant misogyny in the coverage of Clinton.
When I mention this to Hillary, she laughs and exclaims, “I’d love to get a look at your e-mail!” And then, more soberly, she goes on, “There’s a reason for the resentment. The level of dismissive and condescending comments, not just about me—what do I care?—but about the people who support me and in particular the women who support me, has been shocking. Shocking to women and to fair-minded men. But what has really been more disappointing to me is how few voices that have a platform have spoken out against it. And that’s really why you seen this enormous grassroots outrage. There is no outlet. It is rare that you have anybody on these shows or in a position of responsibility at major publications who really says, ‘Wait a minute! What are we talking about here? I have a wife! I have a daughter! I want the best for them.’ ”
Clinton is fairly worked up now, but she’s far from finished. “I didn’t think I was in a position to take it on because it would have looked like it was just about me. And I didn’t think it was just about me. So the only time we took it on was in the thing about Chelsea, which was so far beyond the bounds, I mean, what planet are we living on? But nobody said anything until I made it an issue. So I just want everybody to really think hard about the larger lesson here. I know you can’t take me out of the equation, because I’m in the center of the storm. But it’s much bigger than me. And women know that. Because if it were just about me, those who sympathize with me would say, ‘I’m so sorry.’ But instead it’s, ‘Wait a minute! This is not just about her! It’s about us! And when are we going to see somebody stand up and say, What are you doing here?’ ”
Clinton made a point of not naming names in the course of her media critique. But when I ask her former staff for particular examples of sexism in the press, they exhibit less restraint. “The whole MSNBC crew,” says Lewis. “I mean, at what point in Chris Matthews’s career do we choose? Then there was night on CNN when [Republican strategist] Alex Castellanos said, Well, it’s appropriate to call some women a white bitch because that’s what they are.” What especially galls Clinton’s fans about her coverage is what they perceive as a double standard regarding race and gender that (among other biases, in their view) tilted the media playing field dramatically toward Obama. The argument, roughly put, is that whereas casual sexism takes place with impunity, the slightest hint of racial bias provokes gales of protest. I ask Clinton if she agrees. She says she does: “The contrast between the outrage over anything concerning race compared to anything concerning gender was incredibly out of balance, I thought.”

I sent my thank you card around June 5th or 6th and I recieved a Thank you card back immediately. In no way shape or form did she ask me to vote for Obama. Great!
I e-mailed my letter to Dean. My husband, sister, brother-in-law and my two daughters e-mailed theirs too. None of us have a fax machine. I hope it still gets the same attention. Brian, I thought the letter was great.

Has anyone seen this yet? “McCain Panders to the Pumas”
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/06/16/mccain-panders-to-the-pumas/
#170 faye4hill,
Are you talking about Chris Matthews, the host of “Spitball”?
Every time I send email to the DNC, my email address ALWAYS end up with NOBAMA campaign asking for donation. I’ve reached a point now , all I do is clicking unsubscribe and wait for confirmation code. Before I was just a disgruntled lifelong democrat, now I am an ANGRY DEMOCRAT. The number of independent voters will continue to increase; there are MORE democrats turning independent than Republicans becoming independent voters. There is a reason for this, the GOP for all its flaws are true to their charter, they listen to their party members, they’re important. The DNC is the exact opposite, they value MONEY, ultra liberals and elite of this country. There is NO PLACE for moderates in the Democratic Party, if you’re not ultra liberal, you’re out of place; so, why should I keep on supporting a party that has no place for me and silence my voice in the ballot box? I was one of those people in my state that uses mail-in ballot and voted for Hillary; then be told my vote doesn’t represent any delegates for Hillary. I can’t get over that up to now, I am very angry. To make it worse DNC SELECTED NOBAMA instead of adhering to popular vote which Hillary have won.
Can you imagine NOBAMA in the Whitehouse with Congress controlled by Democrats? It would be WORSE than Bush Administration. We can go back to Carter administration, with Democrat controlled Congress, our country was in DISARRAY. The reason many independents voters and Republicans voted for Hillary in primary due to the fact she is a MODERATE Democrat.
This coming November I’d be REPUBLICAN FOR A DAY, NOBAMA said the same thing during primary in my state asking Republicans to be Democrat for a day. I’ll be REPUBLICAN FOR A DAY until the Democratic Party can gather their CRAPPOLA together and TRUE to their charter. Other than that, I don’t give a hoot about the Democratic Party anymore. This party I used to embrace for a number of years, have become a party I do NOT recognize anymore. NOBAMA is the NAZFICATION of the Democratic Party. SHAME ON THEM!
I emailed my letters this morning to both email addresses. I will fax them later to both fax numbers. Thank you to everyone on this blog and to those who set it up. It is so great to have a support system with people who feel and believe the same things as I do. Hillary has the strength, intellingence, character, and morals that I value in a president. Rise, Hillary, Rise! We are still here!!!!
Ok, decided I DISLIKE gmail’s capabilities. They’re very limited as far as contact groups and stealth. GRRRR.
Hi PUMAs – just got back from faxing my letters to Dean & the group – also did some grocery shopping (what a depressing chore that was) – anyway – the fax machine did a little glitch & I wound up faxing the letter to 1 # twice – this will either confirm their message about old, ignorant, blah blah or reinforce our comittment to the message – perception is everything
BTW-love the article about Hillary – my god that woman is strong – she has absolutely got to be elected president – I’ve waited so long for this…………jeez – I’m ready to cry – sorry – drips on the keyboard…..my family already thinks I’m crazy to get so emotional about this but can’t help it – it is personal……………..
Whew, I read some of the comments under Malkin’s little Puma article. The conservatives really don’t like McCain. This is going to be a strange election.
The only thing unknown about Obama by most of America is the truth. He has been on tv nearly 24/7 for the last 6 months as the MSM and DNC have shoved this idiot down peoples throats.
http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html
Check that nice article if you haven’t done so yet. It clearly lays out what quite a few of us have been trying to drum into the idiots at C&L HuffPo etc etc for months. The GOP knew none of their candidates stood a chance against Hillary. They intentionally crossed party lines in caucus states even donating to Obama to give themselves an easy win. Obama openly encouraged this with his Democrat for a Day scheme urging Republicans and Independents to vote against Hillary by voting for him. His campaign even went so far as to urge them to do so even if it was against the law in their states because of closed primaries. Next time someone mentions the Rush effect, set them straight! It was crossovers voting to keep Hillary out that got Obama his early caucus wins. Along with his busing in out of state supporters.
Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!

Hi everyone! i just have a quick minute. I e-mailed my letter but i don’t have a fax machine. If I can get somewhere like staples I will get it faxed from there. JUst wanted to say hi and I’ll probably be back later today or tonight to check in on everyone. Have a great day everyone! Oh and Murphy, you didn’t have to do what you did last night with the info, that takes courage and I wanted to say thank you.
Hey, Pumas, I faxed my letter to Dr. Dean and the report indicated successful transmission! that would be area code 850, Brian!
Go PUMAs!
I emailed my letter to Dean this afternoon. Thanks BrianKnoxville for the great letter. I have a fax machine but its not working (Darn) I would have loved to fax him too.
Murphy,
Could you suggest to our sister sites that we select a date or day per week that we get blogs out all about PUMAS? We have a lot of reputable blogs in the coalition and I think it would be great if ALL of them had one day where they blogged about PUMA and the actions we took that week.

I believe the quote below is accurate, but I have not independently verified:
“Obama would not be the first Black-American president. He would be the first Arab-American president. Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab”

#188 PODvet,
That is why I suggested that we add to our list of “wants”…We want all primaries closed to registered members of the opposing major party. I never heard any feedback on it though.
By the way, what ever happened to that list? I haven’t seen it in a couple of days.
#192 MarylandPuma – excellent idea!!
Oh, I emailed my letter to Dean too. Will fax on Thur and Fri when I have access to fax machine.
Am getting ready to send my coupons too!

Greetings, PUMAs,
I am an independent voter, not a Democrat, and I have sent a letter to Howard Dean previously expressing my disgust as an independent who crossed over specifically to support Hillary. So, no letter for me today, but I support all of you “PUMA Democrats” who are fed up with your party!
On a different note —
TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED “RACIST” FOR REFUSING TO SUPPORT OBAMA:
Please read this article regarding WHITE SUPREMACISTS WHO ARE PLANNING TO VOTE FOR OBAMA! This is posted on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s website. The next time someone calls you a racist, tell them that the REAL racists are actually supporting Obama:
http://www.splcenter.org/blog/2008/06/11/president-obama-many-white-supremacists-are-celebrating/#more-2475
Quite an eye-opener!
Go PUMAs!

WE WANT an enforceable plan sponsored by the DNC to ensure that misogyny and sexism as displayed in 2008

WE WANT to be represented by our delegates in the 2008 convention in August.
WE WANT Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as our democratic nominee for President.
Just got an email from Hillary
Together, you and I changed America forever. We touched so many lives over the course of this campaign, and I can’t thank you enough for the support you showed me. I met so many wonderful people out on the trail, and I wanted to share some of those memories with you.
I hope you’ll take a moment to view our online album with some favorite photos from the campaign.
Thank you so much — I’ll be in touch soon.
Sincerely,
I faxed and e-mailed my letter to Dean today.
I feel so frustrated. It gives me hope to read your comments.
Thank you guys for this blog and all your good work.
I just faxed my Dean letter. I automatically downloaded it from our action page, but then realized that the version on the top of this page is neater.

2. At the bottom, our web site is a link on the copy on this page, but not on the action site.
also — I changed my copy from 12 pt. font to 10 pt. to get it on one page.
I’ll send this version to the action page, but things may not be posted till evening.
Just sent my letter to Screamin’ Howie by email. Must wait to do my faxes until after I get home this evening (cannot use my work fax).

“You can enter a zip code and see everyone in the area who has contributed to the DNC, Hillary, Obama, etc. It gives their name and address and how much they contribued. Only donors over a certain amount are listed.”
Member suggests we look up our surrounding zips and send these donors fliers and brief cover letters.
Anyone interested?

#198 Dragonfly,
Thanks! So what does everyone think about keeping the primaries closed to registered members of the opposing party?
I’m upset that I financially supported the Democratic Party for so long and a bunch of Republicans crossed over and gave Obama his initial momentum and the bragging rights of his “broad appeal”.

#152 Marie – Maybe someone else knows – I was referring to your msg earlier ” re:BO’s birth cert. and that although his mother says he was born in HI the hosp has no records of such.” If they say the hosp has no records, then they must know which hospital… it sounds like someone checked it out, so maybe whomever said that might know which one? I’d love to try to track it down. I worked in a hosp for 8 years and still have some decent connections. I know which island he was born on, hopefully your contact can provide the name of the hospital that doesn’t have records.

Ok, 11 sympathy cards, Upon the Death of the Democratic Party, are ready to be stamped and mailed to my 11 local SDs who backed BO.
All contain a letter from me outlining why I support Hillary and why she should be the nominee. All explain why I won’t support BO (and his circle of named friends) and will vote McCain if Hillary is not the nominee. All address the hijacking of the Democratic Party by the DNC and the overt sexism and Hillary bashing. All contain a lovely sympathy card.
I am sending three positive letters to the 3 SDs who originally supported Hillary, stressing why I think they should continue to support her and why BO is not the best candidate, and how people will transfer loyalty to McCain and not “fall in line” behind BO.
Sympathy cards and letters will also go to Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and Donna Brazile. It would be great if I could blanket ALL the turncoat SDs, but I have neither the time nor the money. However, besides Pelosi, Dean and Brazile, is there any other major people you’d like me to include on my sympathy list?
Maybe you can try sending your own sympathy cards. Let them truly know how sad we are. Actually, how sad they are.

i think each state decides who can vote in its primaries. e.g., some have open primaries, some have closed, some have something in between. there’s a page on wikipedia that lists what type of primary each state has.
6/16/08 NQ) Breaking: It’s not a rumor any more (Dean discouraging placing Hillary’s name onto the first ballot because of party unity)
——————————————————————————–
Quote:
Being unable to find a definitive answer to this question I called the DNC this morning and spoke with a woman in the Chairman’s office. HERE is what I learned in that phone call today:
I explained to DNC employee in the Chairman’s office that I was confused by what I had read and asked her if what the New York Times article said was true. Was Dr. Dean discouraging placing Hillary’s name onto the first ballot because of party unity?
Her answer shocked me. She told me it was true. She said that Hillary Clinton had decided to support Barack Obama, therefore her name would not be placed on the ballot.
So I then asked her if Hillary Clinton had decided that she did not want her name placed into nomination on the first ballot. Her answer was that she couldn’t speak for Hillary Clinton. At least she got that much right. And she and the DNC do not speak for Hillary supporters either.
I do not know where this will go from here but I do know that history and precedent favor placing Hillary’s name on the first ballot. If Dean and his puny 167.5 delegates got onto the ballot (in 2004), then the person with the most votes in Democratic primary history certainly deserves equal treatment. Anything less isn’t fair or right. And it sure isn’t party unity.
Stay Tuned!

#197 – What an ugly article! But, it didn’t actually suggest that white supremacists would VOTE for Obama – not a chance of that happening. The article actually claims that they would “celebrate” his election because “a black man in the Oval Office would shock white America, possibly drive millions to their cause, and perhaps even set off a race war that, they hope, would ultimately end in Aryan victory.” Frankly, I don’t think there is anything to celebrate in that kind of talk.

“Strange” would be a good word for this fiasco. The conservatives do not like their candidate becasue he’s too ‘moderate’ and the moderates (like me) do not like the Democratic candidate because he’s too liberal. The only thing I find NOT strange about it is that I will actually feel relatively comfortable voting for McCain in November (if Clinton is not on the ballot that is). Strange indeed…

Senator Obama refers to Jewish people as” kikes”
On page 254 of the first edition of Senator Obama’s, Dreams from my Father, Obama refers to Jewish people as “kikes.” This particular ethnic slur is one of the most vile and offensive in our language.
Obviously, someone at Team Obama didn’t want the public to know that the junior Senator from Illinios refered to Jewish people in such a vile and demeaning manner. The phrase has been edited out of the 2004 edition of the book which is now widely available in book stores.
An extract of Obama’s book which included the word was referenced by the New Yorker in 2004

Can it get any worse? Obama parrots Malcolm X telling supporters to bring a gun if supporters of his opponents bring knives
Obama warned that the general election campaign could get ugly. “They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that ‘that Obama is a scary guy,’” he said. A donor yelled out a deep accented “Don’t give in!”
“I won’t but that sounded pretty scary. You’re a tough guy,” Obama said.
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said. “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”

I sure hope people are waking up to Obama. We need to NOT support Obama ,Hillary supporters….
I just submitted the following comment at the CNN political ticker at the story “McCain defends controversial Texas fundraiser.” Let’s see if they post it…
“An Obama spokesperson wants to talk about what’s insulting to voters and what constitutes proper expression of the citizenry in our democracy?!?! I would be rolling on the floor in laughter if the Obama campaign and the newly undemocratic Democratic Party hadn’t stepped all over, spat at, and tossed the principles of the Democratic Party out with the trash.
Obama’s spokesperson has got to be joking.
Hey, Dr. Dean, can you hear us now? Not yet? Sorry to have to tell you that the true Democrats aren’t falling in line with the selected nominee of the undemocratic Democratic Party. You’ll be hearing us when it counts. Count on it.

Well, I guess we’d better bring a cannon!
Col. Gaddafi refers to Obama as our Kenyan brother; suggests Obama has inferiority complex
Obama’s comments about a united Jerusalem put him in the cross-hairs of Libyia’s Col.Gaddafi who launched a racist attack on Obama.
Referring to him as “our Kenyan brother”, Col Gaddafi also said Mr Obama might suffer from an inferiority complex because of his African origins.
The issue of race could make Mr Obama’s behaviour “more white than white people”, Col Gaddafi suggested, rather than acting in solidarity with African and Arab nations
“This will be a tragedy,” Gaddafi said. “We tell him to be proud of himself as a black and feel that all Africa is behind him.” Source BBC
Whatever Gaddafi said must have worked. because Obama changed his position on Jerusalem within 24 hours
FYI Wright/Farrakhan met with Gaddafi in 1984…leading Wright to say the Jewish vote will dry up for Obama faster than a snowball in hell when that trip is revealed

Rev. Manning is a good guy. He’s a little out there for me, but a good guy nonetheless. A thank you to him and his church would be nice. As a prodominantly Black church, I’m sure he and the congregation are really going through it.
Especially since nobama found an “acceptable” Black church for photo op this weekend. As if that’s negates Rev. Wright and Trinity.

Excuse me for feeling the need to state that I am a Black person. I don’t want my comments taken as racist (though most of the time, I don’t see how) or reflect badly on this blog site.
I have a question abou the first ballot at the convention. I don’t know much about these things (but i am learning quickly). does that mean she can’t be voted for at all by delegates or superdelegates? If so, I am so outraged over this I can’t even see straight. This has to be stopped. I am afraid for my children growing up in this world where the most basic rights are being taken. We cannot allow this to happen! Sorry, I just had to vent.

my take was that he was not calling anyone a k#ke. he was quoting the terms “n#gg#rs” and “k#k#s” (terms that he’d seen on the bathroom stalls) to show how vile the racism was even at Columbia.
Here’s my report from this afternoon (first chance I’ve had):
I emailed the letter to Dean using BOTH email addrresses listed above (they both went thru). I also printed out, signed, and faxed the letter to BOTH fax numbers (only got confirmation that I got thru on the first fax#).
I also think we need to loudly protest the DNC and *61 supporters trying to REMOVE Hillary’s name from the first ballot at the convention in Denver. That is outrageous and we must do what we can to stop that from happening.

Not to be nit-pickin’, but PUMA flier 08bluestar says “DNA” instead of “DNC”.
Hillary have taught us to be PROACTIVE in our political process. I cried when I read her email. I unsuscribed from DNC, but I keep my email from Hillary open.
HILLARY IS THE PEOPLES PRESIDENT!!!!!!!
#271 mart in PA on 06.16.08 at 2:35 pm
have you called to DNC to confirm or disconfirm the rumor? i’ve called twice before and was told both times the rumor was NOT true. but that was last week.
#269 sheila7 on 06.16.08 at 2:34 pm:
I may be wrong, but my understanding is that as long as Hillary’s name is still on the first ballot, if there is not a clear nominee on the first ballot, then all delegates (including pledged delegates) are free to vote for whomever they want beginning with the 2nd ballot, and Hillary could get the nomination. Hmmm…could THAT be why they are trying to get her name removed from the 1st ballot?
ATTENTION UNION MEMBERS!!
IF YOUR UNION HAS ENDORSED OBAMA –
I want to repeat this previous post of mine:
If you are a dues-paying union member and your union has endorsed Obama, you may be entitled to a partial refund of your union dues. This issue came up in a previous election.
Please contact your union’s Political Action Committee and request a refund of your union dues. Tell them that they have endorsed a candidate you do not support and you do not want your money going to their PAC and into Junior’s coffers.

Got the same answer you did, but don’t trust or believe it. Something’s up…I smell something fishy.
Hi fellow PUMAS,
I just wanted to let you all know that I just emailed my letter to Howard Dean. I edited a little since I’m from West Virginia. Instead of saying that the voters of KY and WV were ignored, I said the voters of KY an my home state of WV. I hope that we can make some headway with this movement. I wish that there can be some more visability in WV and KY. So many voters are feeling that they have no choice but to vote for “him”. I met some really nice people from around the state at our delegate convention this past weekend. I had a really positive responses from the people. I passed out several flyers (thanks Gina!). I stressed to the people when they are wanting to contact others about PUMA, just to send a mass email to their entire email address book. If they agree with us, then they can send the information to their entire email address books. I’ll keep doing what ever that I can to help. I wish that I could donate, but unexpected medical emergencies and the cost of gas, groceries, and bills are getting worse. I can at least offer my thoughts to people in my emails. Keep up the great work everyone!
#277 mart in PA on 06.16.08 at 2:39 pm
that’s the way it’s always worked before. however, before the convention, the candidates are free to remove any of their delegates that they don’t think are sufficiently loyal so i’m not sure the pledged delegates will be easier to swing than the SDs.

#279 mart in PA on 06.16.08 at 2:41 pm
it may be but why do ppl keep posting (at no quarter and elsewhere) that when they call the DNC, they’re told there will be no roll call vote or first ballot? i’m getting tired of ppl posting stuff like that. it just distracts us from trying to swing SDs, contacting potential PUMAs, etc.
sassysenora and mart in PA – I am coordinating the effort to get written confirmation of the roll call. From what I have seen so far, Nancy Pelosi as the Chair has that responsibility. I am working on something we can send/fax to her seeking that confirmation. Any other ideas/thoughts/concerns?
#283 sassysenora on 06.16.08 at 2:44 pm
ok – thanks – I’ll re-focus then on the tasks at hand.
Great idea about “Finding your potential PUMA neighbors”. I’ll start on that later today. Gotta go for now.
Got the email from Hill with the photos. Hill is back and to talk to us soon. Poor Hill, since she suspended Campaign, neither BO had offered to pay her debt, nor he has consider Hill’s future. NO offer, no promise of any sort. It will be hard to find donation for her to pay off debt. I could not believe how BO, Dean and others in the Party have treated her all along including this exit matter.
NOT PUTING HILLARY CLINTON’S NAME ON THE FIRST BALLOT!! THIS MUST NOT GO UNANSWERED, PUMAS! They are showing more disrespect and disregard for 18,000,000 people as the days go by!
PA4HILL08
I emailed you the letter changes to post on the action board. Let me know if it arrives or not.
#286 – I am not familiar with the history on that – is it common for the party to pay the campaign debt?
Pumas:
Take a minute out of your busy day and see Hillary’s Photo Album from the campaign. What a Lady! Heart, Wisdom and Experience, that is our choice and we will fight the fight for her. Go Pumas….
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/feature/book/?sc=1898&utm_source=1898&utm_medium=e
BTW: I sent my letter to Howard Dean today, did you send yours?
hey, Elaine – would you have some time and interest in reviewing a draft to Nancy Pelosi seeking a written confirmation on a roll call at the convention? I like your style.
Question: Is anyone trying to coordinate with the other Hillary Supporter websites so our efforts will be more unified and we can stand stronger in August?
#211 anonymous
I am seriously going through Hillary withdrawal. I miss her so much and can’t even watch any video through its entirety because I get all teary.
I just peeked over at NoQuarter and saw a post up above about talks of not having Hillary’s name on the ballot, again. I’m so angry and frustrated over this. I mean, what the H*LL are they so afraid of? It’s so ridiculous! I have never seen anyone get so much protection…it’s like BO is fragile doll or something. And I’m supposed to want this fraud as my president? I think not!

#290 go_Ohio_Lady,
I loved the album! So many memories…. I also used it to make a contribution since I unsubscribed to her website.
#268 SunnyPA – thank you so much for posting re Rev. Manning. I have been wanting to send him a good guy. Yes, he’s a bit out there, but he is passionate and his heart is in the right place. I love his videos.

thanks for keeping track of this, Maryland PUMA!
is shorttermer still trying to get examples of the sexism and misogyny? i’m asking bc i put some links on last night’s thread and don’t know if s/he got them or not.
someone else was putting together a list about disenfranchisement in this primary. anyone know who?
Drive on, brave Pumas! I have a concert tonight. Gotta go get ready. See you tomorrow.

Only go there is you can stomach the Obamabots bashing McCain and us PUMA. Methinks they doth protest too much. It is getting to be hilarious now; and I wonder if the blogs/news have noticed that most of their readership and viewers are Obamabots?
Did I miss something? What conference call with Clinton, with whom, and can we join?
Did anyone check out the video link Murphy has in the update section at the top of the thread? Great interview and press for the coalition!!

are you compiling a list of sexism in the primary? did you see my comments and link from last night? lmk what you have and i can try to find some of mine if don’t have them.

Just emailed my letter to Dean at DNC…
I am routing for HILLARY to reappear on the ballot for President.
Al Gore to endorse Obama in Detriot tonight.
Well, & isn’t this just exciting – Al Gore is going to be on stage with *61 tonight in Detroit and announce his support – isn’t there anyone of those idiots left who hasn’t drunk the koolaid – damm it & I bought his book & went to his movie – & bitched & moaned about the hanging chads & SCOTUS deciding the election – dam it, dam it, dam it…………………..wht are we missing – I can’t believe he needs the money………………
I Just Heard:
Al Gore to endorse Obama tonight.
BUMMER!
(I gotta go back to work -I’ll check in later!)
Best,
JGoldman1
sassysenora – as a part of the talking points against *61, I have copied and pasted from your comment that Murphy shared last night. It is excellent. I will have to work on it more tonight, but please feel free to email me anything you come across today at dragonflypuma@gmail.com. MarylandPuma, am I duplicating efforts to gather intel on sexism and misogyny?
#313 Dragonfly on 06.16.08 at 3:08 pm
have you seen liss McEwan’s lists (there are 107 of them) on her sexism watch at shakesville? it’s fairly comprehensive but even it doesn’t have everything.
Susie1945 – thanks for the info from Lee Iacocca’s book. I have copied and pasted it into an email and sent it to a bunch of silent friends I am trying to motivate.
Good afternoon everyone…We faxed our letters to Howard(coward) Dean..I sent faxes to both numbers…I am on my way to the post office with a bunch of Thank YOU Cards for Hillary…I will handing out they flyer today…. blogging…etc…Maybe, we could (PumaPac) contact the Ellen show in LA..I bet she would spot us a guest appearence…What do you think???? Have a great day!!!
314
there aren’t 107 lists. there are 107 posts (with comments) about a lot of the sexism and misogyny directed at Clinton.
Let’s see: Gore, Dean, Dodd, Biden, and who else were the past losers in their bid for President to go to the aid of the Presumptuous Nominee?
#314 sassysenora – haven’t seen that but will search on the web for it. thanks! also, Faye4Hill had a reference to a *61 lie collection site, and it may also have some stuff. Uppity’s blog (link on this one to it) is really good and I bet she has info on it too. I will ask her.
thanks!

copy of my post downthread:
if you’re looking for examples of sexism in the MSM and the Obama campaign, check out the Sexism Watch at Shakesville. it’s not all inclusive but it covers a lot of it. the main problem is that it’s 107 articles long bc liss puts one up whenever she has time and sees something sexist.
http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2008/06/hillary-sexism-watch-part-107-just-pair.html
that’s the 107th article. there are links to the other 106 articles (most also have comments) on the 107th page.
#317 – gotcha
#324 – THANK YOU! You are awesome.
sassysenora, I do not have your email address, so, would you please email me any sexist, ageist, discrimanatory, or mysogynistic act or statement you come across, and anyone else as well. I am not sure if dragonfly and I are doing the same thing, but maybe dragonfly can answer. If there are others doing this, then I will stop as we don’t need replication.

Someone should write and ask Al Gore of his thoughts about Cheney bill that BO signed. I’m so tired of sell outs.
I still say NO to BO! McCain ’08!
#320 Kids1627 – no call today? Is this good or bad or do we even want to speculate????
#326 Dragonfly on 06.16.08 at 3:15 pm
i have pulled out some of the examples from Sexism watch but i didn’t get most of the MSM ones. (i don’t think i got all the ones from the BO campaign either.)
i focused more on the Obama campaign. my 2 “lists” are disorganized. they aren’t really lists but things i’ve copied/pasted from articles and comments to blogs but i can email them to you if you want them.
Just got a letter from Hillary’s campaign with her thanks. I responded:
Senator Clinton,
Thank you for all that you have done for the United States, for every woman, for my daughters and granddaughters and for me.
You have secured a tremendous victory and have endured a horrific onslaught of misogyny and racism.
The Democratic Party severely damaged your candidacy when:
Nancy Pelose consistently called for a premature end to the primary process.
Howard Dean consistently called for a premature end to the primary process.
Donna Brazile openly campaigned for your opponent on CNN while pretending to report news.
Donna Brazile declared a major portion of the Democratic Party unnecessary and obsolete because the new party was younger, blacker and better educated.
Florida and Michigan voters were punished for the acts of their Democratic Party leaders.
The main stream media consistently allowed misogynistic and sexist remarks from their reporters and analysts and the Democratic Party did not speak out.
Thanks for everything. I will not forget what you have done, what the Party failed to do, and will work very diligently to make the Democratic Party look at their behavior, acknowledge the harm, change for the future.

Just received the Hillary thank you. The album was great. I can’t wait for the phone call.
Hi everyone. Please check out your emails from Hillary Clinton. Her on-line photo album of her campaign is really wonderful!! I am very concerned about Dean not placing her name on the Ballot. This election has been rigged from the beginning. What are the Party Officials afraid of?? Hillary MUST PREVAIL; I won’t give in, and I won’t give up! Hillary’s message was so nice, said, she would be in touch soon! I pray something good comes of it all…….Must go, I have 18 quarts of strawberries waiting for me…………..Summertime in Ohio……:)
Dragonfly, I don’t know who coined it, another blogger, but so that pumapac can get some recognition, I am including in almost all my emails and letters, where appropriate, the words/prhases that I hope will become identified with our blog/site. Some are:
Obamabots;
Presumptuous Nominee;
Reject the SELECTED. Respect the ELECTED.;
undemocratic Democratic Party;
we are watching you;
a registered Independent Fl voter- I will not forget those who voted me half a person;
I am only 1 in 18 million and growing;
Hillary Republican;
PUMA Democrat;
some others I can not recall right now.
Whoever ends up with the ‘slander list’ please let me know so I can post you on the Project list!
It appears that every time OB is having some problems, he convinces someone else to publically endorse him, to take the focus off his troubled campaign. He probably though Hillary was having her conference call today.
hi everyone i have a problem i do not know if the rest of you are having problems?? I was blocked from aol after being on there for 12 years. I phoned because they took my monthly money out on friday. I asked them to put it back in my account and i would get another server. They said NO i need to write a letter requesting my money back. I talked to 6 different people and was told why my account is closed. I can not ever mention the name Obama
Brian Knoxville TN would like to go by the name “Knoxville” for a while. See if it sticks… I might have come up with something better had ShortTermer not ignored my emails asking for help with a new username. That’s right, Shorty, I’m lookin’ at you.

Can we email or chat about setting up a ‘work in progress’ document for the action site with specifics on sexism, disenfranchsement, etc. … I’d love to coordinate with you on that. Will be out for a while, but evening eastern s good for me. Thanks.

I’m going to put together a list of “good guys” and “bad guys”.
ALL PUMAS please email me your choices for both categories. I will compile and make pdf for our action website.
It would be ESPECIALLY helpful if you could include contact info for each person. Since most of you have sent letters to these people, I’m hoping it won’t be that hard.
Thanks,

Presumptuous Nominee… precious.
I do not ever remember mentioning his name . The 6 th person told me this at aol in a whisper.I don’t remember unless it was in here.
#339, but why did they close it?
Al Gore makes me sick! The amount of people who cried out at the way he was treated and had the election ripped away from him and now he will help do the same to Hillary! Amazing! But, if we take time and think about it he is the one that said he “invented the internet”. Takes a loser to support a loser.

shorttermer and sassysenora – I said I would coordinate collecting a talking points list to assist people in responding to questions from *61 supporters. I can’t do much substantively on it today, but I will be glad to organize/edit/add to anything y’all are working on and send it back to you. Feel free to send me what you have and I can work on it tonight.
I sent an email to Howard Dean. In writing it, it suddenly dawned upon me that neither the DNC nor Democrats in Congress actually believe in the candidate they wish to select. In coming to this conclusion, I put aside the Constitutional issues, and the inappropriate actions and inactions of the DNC and asked two simple questions. Why would the DNC use stealth instead of a fair and open contest? Why would subterfuge be needed if a candidate were truly the best one? If it had been a fair and open contest, most Democrats probably would have backed the person who won. My conclusion is that they did not believe he could win the nomination without subterfuge, therefore they really do not think he is the best candidate. One does not have to cheat if one truly has the best candidate.

Just got info from my mom that at 7:30pm my time on CNN – Al Gore is suppose to speak to endorse “The Chosen One”
Has anyone else heard this?
I just called Dean’s office and was put through to a message machine. After leaving a message, I called back and told the woman answering the phone that I planned to sue for fraud, since it was clear the decision on the primary was never up to the voters. Her response “Good luck finding the evidence”. Those were her exact words. Not exactly a not guilty response.
I guess this has not happened to anyone else huh. I went and got Netzero
written word reads weird – meaning to convey that I volunteered to marylandpuma and will be glad to coordinate what y’all are doing, but not trying to duplicate efforts.
Lanny Davis to Join fox news
http://www.washingtonpost.com/...
“Fox has always treated me with respect and given me a chance to express my point of view,” Davis says of the network that the Democratic candidates refused to grant a debate out of concern that it favors Republicans. He will be a frequent guest, along with such Fox stalwarts as Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich.
A relentless surrogate for Hillary Clinton, Davis says, he felt “ganged up on” during appearances on the other cable channels. He says that Clinton was “demonized” by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann, and that CNN’s primary-night panels were tilted toward the Obama side.
I emailed and faxed the letter to Howard Dean! I’ll mail it out to him snail mail as well.

LOL Don’t forget…Al endorsed Howard Dean!!!
#350 Iof18MillforHill – I saw the announcement on Fox News – shame on me – but I kinda peek every once in awhile to see what they’re saying – no CNN, CNBC or MSNBC – posted it – also did everyone see comment from kids1627 about conference call being rescheduled?
This is really an observation about CNN more than a criticism of the Presumptuous Nominee, so I think I can say it… have any of you seen the photo of Obamessiah that CNN chose to use for the ticker story “Obama speaks with Iraq’s foreign minister, promises visit?” O’s gesture kind of makes me think of the gesture of a particular 20th-century dictator. Or am I just imagining it? My impression is that the MSM will do everything it can to keep this race close right up to the very end, which, in my opinion, is part of the reason that they worked so hard to ruin Hillary’s candidacy… it wouldn’t have been close enough to get the high ratings.
I don’t know if she gets the replies, but everytime that I have gotten an email from her site, I have written a reply. My reply after thanking her, was to ask her to run as an Independent or as John McCain’s VP running mate. I told her she must be our POTUS, we need her, and that we all fear what our country will be change into if the Presumptuous Nominee get selected again in August.
BBL
I also need ideas for tomorrow’s daily growl.
Is anyone sending the coupons or should we do that tomorrow too since everyone’s focused on the Dean Letters?
Susie #311
did not have time to read all the post – so the “SAD” news is out about the Big Al endorsing The Chosen One.
I agree with you I did the same……guess he needed something to do since his movie/books/speeches are all old news.
I am speechless and for me that is unusual:)
#349 go_Ohio_Lady
I guess Al has a short memory about FL. I guess loyalty is a stretch and honor has no place amongst thieves. tsk tsk.
I read a post which I can’t find now on this page, with a link to where the white supremacists are supporting Obama. I am interracially married ( I am a white woman, married to a black man) my husband is the one who actually got me interested in Hillary, and had also warned me before Hanity to watch out for him, he was seeing anti-white and country clues. But anyways he said that he was sure the white supremacists would be against Obama but was surprised that this group had not yet come out to protest him. I told him, I didn’t think they were against him, and said I had a strong feeling this group would actually be supporting him. He looked at me confused. I told him I felt Obama was pure evil and that evil would be the ones attracted to him.
there reason I love this lady:

This Puma is having a senior moment, can someone please explain this for me. Will Hillary’s name be included at the DNC Convention? Is there anyway that the Super Delegates can vote for her. Also, in the General Election can her name be on the ballots if she unsuspends her campaign. I am all mixed up…
#365 Dreyfus3 NJ –
What you did by sending it and distributing it as widely as possible was more important than anything I did. So thank you!
Seriously, thank you all for participating in this action today.
If we hear nothing at all, we’ll just write another letter to Dean that expresses our concern that he does not appear to be willing to listen, thus making the once democratic party, well, less than representative of the people it supposedly represents and therefore a bit less legitimate as a result. For that next action, we would need about 8-9 days to increase the numbers of letters that we send to him to at least five times what we did today. Let’s call that initiative: “Dr. Dean, can you hear us now?”
Brian
Hi Pumas
I’m the lone voice against Obama in a social forum. I could use some talking points on this comment by another member.
Most of it is sujective junk, but I would appreciate information regarding Hillary promising not to campaign in Michigan and Florida.
I think I’m getting some of these women to re-think Obama. I don’t want any points made by this member to stick.
Thanks!
Appreciate It

I honestly believe that Hillary was her own worst enemy during this campaigne. Actually, if it weren’t for a biased medeia protecting The Clintons over the last couple of decades, Hillary could not have even become a nominee. It appears to me that the only bullets that Hillary has had to dodge were her own.
News tips & feedbackHillary’s word: It’s worth nothing
Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008
COURTING VOTERS in Iowa and New Hampshire, last August Sen. Hillary Clinton signed a pledge not to “campaign or participate” in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hillary Clinton is a liar.
Clinton kept her name on the Michigan ballot when others removed theirs, she campaigned this past weekend in Florida, and she is pushing to seat Michigan and Florida delegates at the Democratic National Convention. The party stripped those states of delegates as punishment for moving up their primary dates.
“I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida,” Clinton said last week, after the New Hampshire primaries and Iowa caucuses were safely over.
Clinton coldly and knowingly lied to New Hampshire and Iowa. Her promise was not a vague statement. It was a signed pledge with a clear and unequivocal meaning.
She signed it thinking that keeping the other candidates out of Michigan and Florida was to her advantage, but knowing she would break it if that proved beneficial later on. It did, and she did.
New Hampshire voters, you were played for suckers. ”

DANG! I just got an email from Gore explaining why he’s endorsing the fraud! I unsubscribed and then wrote him a letter asking him if his memory is short with FL? Uh, unite? Sorry, I don’t follow idiots.

Schumer, Clinton, Higgins to Introduce a Resolution Naming Highway Near Ralph Wilson Stadium in Honor of Buffalo Native Tim Russert
WASHINGTON, DC – Senators Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton along with Congressman Brian Higgins announced today that they are pursuing plans to have a portion of U.S. Route 20 that runs near Ralph Wilson Stadium renamed in honor of Tim Russert, the NBC Washington Bureau Chief and moderator of Meet The Press who unexpectedly passed away Friday morning. Russert was a native of Buffalo and an avid sports fan who was devoted to his hometown football team, the Buffalo Bills. The lawmakers will introduce a resolution in Congress on Monday to rename the stretch of U.S. Route 20 that runs past the home of the Buffalo Bills after Russert.
“Tim Russert was in every way, Mr. Buffalo. With his trademark ‘Go Bills’ sign-off, Tim Russert showed his pride for the city that made him who he was. He always cared about Buffalo, and when I spoke with him just a few weeks ago he said he would do everything he could to keep the Bills in Buffalo,” Schumer said. “The kid from South Buffalo and Canisius High, never strayed from the values those places imbued in him: camaraderie, hard work, optimism, intellectual excellence and a deep love of family and country. Even when he was interviewing presidents and heads of state, Western New Yorkers knew that his blue-collar, Buffalo sensibility guided him throughout. We will forever miss Tim Russert’s insight and passion, and hope that by naming this road in his honor we are memorializing one of New York’s proudest sons.”
“Tim will forever be remembered for his intellect, his professionalism and his historic contribution to this nation but he will also be remembered for his love of his family, his hometown and his Buffalo Bills. His passion for politics and love of his country took him to our nation’s capital, but his heart never left the city where he was born or the team he grew up rooting for. Anybody who knew Tim Russert found out pretty quickly that he was a Bills fan born and bred. While this is a small gesture to honor an icon who gave us all so much, we hope that when people drive down Route 20 past Ralph Wilson Stadium, they’ll remember the man who never forgot his hometown or his beloved Buffalo Bills,” said Senator Clinton.
“It was no secret that Tim Russert was one of the Buffalo Bills’ biggest fans- true to his Buffalo roots throughout his remarkable career, you could always count on him to close Meet the Press with a hearty, “Go Bills!” The passion for Buffalo that Tim demonstrated on a national stage was a source of pride for our city; it is only fitting that from now on, part of the experience of going to a Bills game will be being reminded of this great Buffalonian,” Higgins said.
“The proposal to rename the stretch of U.S. Route 20 that runs next to the stadium in honor of Tim Russert is a wonderful tribute to a great man. I want to thank Senator Clinton, Senator Schumer and Congressman Higgins for their efforts to make this happen. I, like many others, was shocked yesterday when I heard the sad news of Tim’s passing. We loved Tim and he loved Buffalo and the Bills,” said Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, Jr.

Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Former President William Jefferson Clinton on the Death of Tim Russert
“We were stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the passing today of Tim Russert. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Maureen, his son Luke, his father who we all have come to know as Big Russ, his extended family and all of his many friends and colleagues at NBC who have suffered a tremendous loss. Always true to his proud Buffalo roots, Tim had a love of public service and a dedication to journalism that rightfully earned him the respect and admiration of not only his colleagues but also those of us who had the privilege to go toe to toe with him. In seeking answers to tough questions, he helped inform the American people and make our democracy stronger. We join his friends, fans and loved ones in mourning his loss and celebrating his remarkable contribution to our nation.”

Hi Guy’s
Just opened my email and received this from Hillary’s site.
Thought I’d Share…………
Dear *******,
Together, you and I changed America forever.
Sincerely,

****no bashing of al-gore pls***
Its okay -let him do what he wants to do .
He is also probabaly under pressure and when we start calling -only we look bad -if he would want to listen to anybody -he would not have endorsed obama-
So pls PUMAS –AL GORE IS A NICE GUY – so leave him alone .
Time to stop for a moment and refresh our memories about the nature of Obamabots, animals who push and shove and take and weasal off with things they don’t deserve. Tricky little creatures, those Obamabots, who know no shame and who will undermine our ability to use our voices if we let them.
Please go now to CNN’s political ticker and look at the comments under the story “Al Gore to endore Obama.” Go down to the comment at 3:30.
All I can say is “Hurraaah.” I was making such a name for myself over at CNN’s political ticker that Axeld*ck had to huddle the Obamabots around him and give them instructions on how to use deception in the age of the internet to defuse my words and undermine my right to express them. Whatever. I so love doing things that help deplete the resources of Obamessiah.
Ok, before you leave that thread of comments in the story “Al Gore to endore Obama,” please stop above at 3:09 and look at the words of the real Brian Knoxville, TN!

“You too, Al? Are there no leaders left over at the undemocratic Democratic Party? None who remember our principles of full democratic participation and fair reflection? None who will stand up to these weasels who sleazed off with power that they don’t deserve? None?
Well, fortunately, we decide who our leaders will be over at the true Democratic Party. We will be heard. And all the failed leaders will soon be returned to their place as citizens with no more power over the decisions that our party makes than a vote on election day. Your days of calling yourselves leaders are numbered.
PUMA DEMOCRAT”
I have so totally got to run. Please everyone take a moment to thank Murphy. We can’t say thank you enough!
mini vee is there a return address on that email from Gore?
I just called called the DNC and got directed to Howard Dean’s line and I spoke to a woman. I called her to say that I had always been a democrat, but that I needed advice to de-register. She sighed…not really in a mean way–and then told me to contact my local election board. I already knew that, so then I told her that I was one of 18 million, and a Puma. She said, “yes yes”…then I just said thank you, goodbye, and hung up. She sounded like she totally heard of PUMA. Ya think? Must be.
I was really looking forward to the call today. Will information on Wed. call be forwarded?
Has anyone seen N. Lee’s cool video:
“Also am putting videos together. In wanting to target young people, I put this eery video together to appeal to the younger masses.

Hey PUMAs, we’ve got our work cut out for us … true change is never easy. Still, we have really made a tremendous impact for just a couple of weeks.
I started campaigning in this election out of a sense of commitment to my daughter and myself. I have bigger fears than Al Gore and I’m not going to let his endorsement of nobama stop me.
We have an action list and lots of work to do. Let’s take back our country… oops, that was a nobama moment… I mean let’s take back our party.
Darn it… I was going to respond to the Obamabot with the following, but CNN closed the thread.
Comment above at 3:30… oh no! An Obamabot has weaseled off with my name and is using it to undermine my right to express myself fairly in our political system… oh no! Wiat a minute… Now where could an Obamabot have learned that trick? Oh, that’s right, the Presumptuous Nominee formerly known as Obama Almighty taught him how to do that when he weaseled off with power he did not earn and does not deserve…

One of the things that is hard but necessary to accept is that we cannot count on our leaders to change the party, not even our own dear Hillary. She needs us, Al Gore needs us, all of the good folks need us to challenge what is happening to the Democratic Party, our election process, our freedom, our voice.
Keep growling PUMAs.

“Will he be bringing his empty slogans or any of his entourage of Obamabots with him? He’ll need the slogans if he’ll have any chance of making the Iraqis believe that he’s the change they need. He’ll have no record of achievement to show them. And, wow, does his ego just cry out for the mindless adoration of Obamabots…
Weak on values and little by way of a resume, but oh so full of empty rhetoric.
NObama, never. False prophet, or failed leader who needed to be carried across the finish line by the failed leaders of the undemocratic Democratic Party, or both? it’s hard to tell.

Praying Mantis. That is a good Omen!
Heartsick about Gore’s cave-in. To think I shook his hand many years ago when my daughters and I campaigned for him here in AL. It feels like the DNC is stealthily closing all the exit doors–pulling in their big gun endorsements to persuade the weak, manipulating a ballot (can they do that??) so that Hillary’s name isn’t even there. Are they doing this with her permission? Has she been strong-armed too? They’ve got the media, the Oprah money, the Buffet money, everything but the truth.
That doesn’t mean we give up this fight. Something smells rotten in the USA, and we have to root it out.
Scratch it out—PUMAS have claws.
#419 goandersen,
Get Well Cards! That’s so awesome. Can we photocopy them and fax them and scan them and email them and put them up in public.
Wait: how about “Has anyone seen their missing values? If found, please return them to the DNC.”
Maybe this one could use a little work…

You guys, Heidi Li of Heidi’s Potpourri — an amazing Clinton supporter — was just featured in a Yahoo article about her campaign to Retire Hillary’s Debt and all of us Clinton supporters. She regularly posts on pro-Clinton sites and is the world’s greatest fundraiser but also positive Hillary person.
It’s a fabulous piece, I can’t believe Yahoo featured her (and all of us) like this. She posted in on Bitterpoliticz for people who wanted something to brighten their day with all of our bad news like the DNC shenanigans, Al Gore possible endorsement and the Patti Solis Doyle move (whatever, she’s not that effective), and find something positive we can do.
Some of us are also focused on Turning Down Barky and are determined to end his felonious attempts to strong arm his way past democracy, but here’s the positive side of what we can do for Hillary as well!

The second idea is meant to be something like a “lost cat, please call” sign. Well, goandersen has definitely presented the best idea to do first! Just got to get it out to the media. If it’s got a nice image on it, maybe they’ll show it on the tv.

This Puma is having a senior moment, can someone please explain this for me. Will Hillary’s name be included at the DNC Convention? Is there anyway that the Super Delegates can vote for her. Also, in the General Election can her name be on the ballots if she unsuspends her campaign. I am all mixed up…
————————
First, since Seantor Clinton did not concede her pledged (won in primaries) delegates, she simply suspended her campaign which means she can keep her pledged delegates, and yes those delegates will go to the Convention — yes she has every right to have her name on the first ballot for her delegates to be able to vote for her. However, there is a rumor floating that Howard Dean and the DNC elites are trying hard to get her to concede her delegates to the no named one, so her name will not go onto the ballot at all at the convention. This is unprecedented action by the nitwits at the DNC if true, because other ‘losing’ primary candidates have taken their campaigns right into the convention in the past.
So yes, she has that right, especially since she won the popular vote, to go to the convention and have her pledged delegates vote for her through the first ballot. The super delegates, since they are not ‘pledged’ to a particular candidate at all, can also vote for her at any time at the convention if her name is thrown into the mix, which it should be, unless the wicked DNC gets their way. Thats why it’s called a NOMINATING CONVENTION versus a CORONATION. And by the way, the convention is partly paid for by taxpayer dollars, so we should have a right to tell the DNC that Senator Clinton should be allowed to have her convention roll call.
And no, if she is not the official Democratic nominee coming out of the convention, having received a majority of the delegate votes, then she cannot have her name on the general electoin ballot as the Dem canidate.

goandersen,
Your suggestion is good, I’ll send a GET WELL CARD to DNC tomorrow. I’ve already mailed a thank you card to Hillary last week with $1.00 with a message ONE OF 18 MILLIONS
I emailed and faxed my letter as instructed this morning but that isn’t the reason I’m writing.
I was scanning some blog comments on No Quarter regarding Howard Dean’s latest attempt to remove Hillary’s name from the first ballot at the convention.
I came across this blogger’s comments which came straight from Hillary’s people. It gives some insight into what her next move might be. I thought it was important to post these comments here so more people are aware that a new Clinton strategy might emerge over the course of the next few weeks.

I called Hillary’s headquarters in Wash DC – actually Va – 703 469-2008 and spoke with one of the workers there. I did not ask to speak with anyone more specific because I wanted to see what might get said off the cuff.
He indicated that Hillary’s primary goal , as they knew it (as they knew it and he emphasized that) was to pay down her debt and that legally any money sent in could not go for anything else BUT her debt.
When I suggested volunteering to call people to continue to fund raise for her to pay down the debt, he said: we have not set that up yet. We are not supporting volunteers through her website like we were before. BUT, he said – as I chatted about the weather or something – that he and the campaign had had time to rest, really rest and he expected that something would be announced in a couple of weeks. But he did not know what. When I asked what he meant, he kinda hemmed and hawwed and said that at the moment they were endorsing Obama. I told him that I hoped not too vigorously and he said something that indicated, no,not really at all.
When I asked him how the debt reduction via contributions was going he said that it was better than any of them had expected and that it was definitely definitely steadily going down and that they were very pleased.
I circled back another time to get what would/might happen in a couple of weeks because we were never going to support Obama and he said, she understands that.
I personally intend to call back every two to three days and see who I can chat with. But clearly, if we want her to be let loose – if we want her to be as aggressive as possible, then helping with the campaign debt is the first thing we can do and right now, the most significant. And she only has until the convention to pay it down with contributions.
I would suggest that a random phone call from many of us SUPPORTERS (not the idiots who seem to tread on our heels) might be of value. Certainly communication making it plain that we will never support Obama is very important. Not sure that helps, but if it does, good. And I will continue to call and continue to report back with something. But we know a couple of things:
1) Hillary said she’d never give up and that we should never stay down or give up
2) she is not lying on a beach somewhere getting a little change of scenery
3) she will – as she has said – continue to fight for everyone who needs her and believes in her…. well, that’s me and I take her at her word.

That is exactly what it is! LOL! Love her!
I just heard Gore will be endorsing the anointed one. On one hand I’m not surprised, it is another ploy to manipulate voters to get them to “flock” to the selected one instead of the elected candidate but on the other hand I’m madder than a hive of stirred up bees.
It really burns me how they try to play with our heads and hearts and mislead citizens in order to achieve their goals. This primary has been so astonishing twisted, a farce, a sham and they are still trying to elicit uninformed consent, no deal. As a matter of discourse for the Gore ploy I’ll donate another $25 dollars to help dear Hill pay down her debt. Then after a walk to get these Puma claws retracted:) I’ll write again to the “fair reflection” super delegates and ask them to do their jobs and honor the will of 18 million voters.

I’m a newbie. Thanks for drafting this letter, which I sent via email. I hope it was ok, but I attached a PS to it with my own comments, which I thought necessary especially since I reside in Wisconsin.
******************
P.S. I strongly feel that you as well as other Democratic party members did not wait until a full vetting of Obama had occurred before he was showered with support. The issues of Rezko and Larry Sinclair will cast too dark a shadow over the presumptive nominee during this election, and I cannot support Obama based on these issues as well as many others. Indeed, others running for election under the Democratic Party ticket will also feel the fall out from these Obama scandals. I am shocked by the behavior of some party members choosing to label Democratic Party members who do not support Obama as “racist,” am am deeply concerned about the divisions this has caused the party as well as the nation. I am quite shocked that the party has chosen to silence other Democratic Party members who are critics of Obama, and am disgusted that the Wisconsin delegates have chosen to oust Ms. Debra Bartoshevich from attending the Denver convention. While Ms. Bartoshevich has publicly declared that she intends to vote for McCain in the general election, I believe that her position as a Democratic delegate still should have been honored, especially since she has such strong feelings which required a great amount of integrity to remain true to and not “fall in line” with the party; after all the Democratic Party is about individuals who espouse various beliefs but are still tolerant of those who disagree with them. Unfortunately, the opposite is proving to be true. I am also deeply disheartened to read that you may choose to not allow even a perfunctory roll-call vote during the convention. Moreover, and most importantly for me as a 20+ year Democrat who came from solid RepubIican roots, I have ceased wearing my “Proud to Be a Democrat” baseball hat, which I usually don during the summertime as well as during the campaign seasons when helping the campaigns. I cannot express to you how much it saddens me to admit that I am truly ashamed of my party, and will not be helping to campaign for the Democratic nominee this fall if it should remain Senator Obama.
#463 NotFallingInLine

Wish we could have organized a protest for downtown detroit tonight, as news 4 here already has a bird in the air televising this farce.
#468 They’re probably going to have a popular local band playing for free.
Brian, thanks for the letter template.
Emailed Coward Dean (both addresses)
Faxed him also (both numbers)
Got Hillary’s email and sent her a contribution through the link.
My PUMA paws are getting quite calloused from my keyboard!!!

the detroit stop is unexpected and a political stunt thats why al gore is flying in to endorse him~ to try and win over Michigan voters~
also today’s actions done !!!!
I can’t wait for Pelosi to endorse him. Maybe that’ll give him the bump he’s still waiting for from the Hillary endorsement.
Whats wrong with foxnews,s blogs . they are all on kool-aid bloggers .
i just saw ,most of the comments were pro-ass.
I just got home and haven’t read through the blog yet, but I wanted to let you know that I faxed my letter (from Bangor, ME). The -8063 number wouldn’t go through, but the -8174 number did. I also sent it to both email addresses.
I love the idea of the Daily Growl! Thanks so much to the person or people who created it. It makes my task feel official.

the only bump he gets from Pelosi is a negative one~
maybe we should encourage her to endorse and quickly!
Could someone explain to me what Al Gore is thinking endorsing Obama? I always repected him, so there must be a good reason.

No it doesn’t. All contributions to the campaign have to, by law, go to pay down the debt.
#488 Exactly!!

Bower reported on a meeting they had this morning to with Mc Cain and how the 74 people invited felt reassured by Mc Cain.
He reiterated the opposition of the pumas to the UNDEMOCRATIC PROCESS used by the democratic party in the selection of the party’ nominee.
I can say that the Republicans are paying attention unlike some democrats we know.
#482 Tec1965,
think about it. Why would Senator Clinton give money to bo when she has all this debt??

Gore’s reason is because he’s a member of “The Good Ole Boys Club” to them thats all the reason they need~
Hello PUMA Team,
I just emailed my protest letter to Howard Dean. Earlier, I had tried to fax it to both numbers, and it wouldn’t go through. Thank you Murphy, Brian, Elaine, Antifish, Marylandpuma, and everyone else for giving us this forum.
I will also be sending letters to super delegates today. Right now, I plan to read these posts to understand the events of the day.

Since he certainly can’t get a bump from us Hillary supporter, I guess the only bump he could get is a bump on the head from a slip and fall from all the kool-aide he feeding his followers.
I just read this on Clinton Democrats:
Dem4Hillary, on June 16th, 2008 at 12:33 pm Said:
the unfortunate thing about both the DNC and RNC is that they are private organizations meant to serve the party. When I was at a training conference for college democrats, we were asked the following question: “what is the role of the DNC?” After many of us offered answers around the idea of serving the democratic party and getting Democrats elected to office, we were all told we were wrong and informed that the single sole purpose of the DNC is to nominate and get elected a Democrat to the U.S. Presidency.
So, unfortunately, while we like to think that the DNC has the good of the people or at least the good of Democrats at heart, they don’t. that is why they can do whatever they want, answer whatever questions they want, and not answer others. That is why that despite one republican senator wanting to sue over the RBC, that the lawsuit will never stand up because the election was a valid election according to the laws of the respective states and that once they certify and turn the vote over to the Democratic Parties of the states and or to the DNC, that the choices they make with the results of that vote are outside the realm of public laws because it is a private organization.
Now, I’m not saying I condone any of the actions I’ve seen out of the DNC. I’m just merely suggesting that (while I do think they need to hear from us) they don’t care what we think because they are a private organization and they don’t feel that they have to answer to anyone regarding their dealings as a private organization.
—————————————
If it is true, that the DNC will not care what we say or do…what do we do?
I think the answer is to seriously start a massive effort outside of this internet to reach out to the people. Yes, I know there is 18 million voices march to Denver…
Yes, Just Say No Deal, CountWomenPac, etc are getting media coverage–which is fantastic, but what else can we do besides spread the word online, and sign petitions, and write Howard Dean….
We need to become serious foot soldiers as well, to reach people out there who are not hooked up to the web. Flyers, stickers for everywhere, bumper stickers, clothing, writing all newspapers and magazines. Sometimes I wish all the best anti-Obama youtube videos could be put on DVD and distributed. I know of 50 videos in my youtube library that would be good.
I think it’s time to go on the streets and start a buzz in our neighborhoods–if we all did that, and everyone did that on Just Say No Deal…well, at least there would be even more street buzz.
I’m just sayin’

As another insult to Floridians, Obama declared that winning FL is not necessary in his plans to get elected. Is he on drugs? Or perhaps he is going to be elected President of Some of the United States of America?
The more I see what is happening, the more I laugh at the prepotency that Obama shows.
I hope I won’t see Obama come to Florida, if he dares, I expect Floridians to give him a well deserved “welcome”

Update – I sent my 2 faxes this afternoon. (emails were sent this morning).
I must admit I am very upset about Al Gore. I see so many similarities between his loss in 2000 and Hillary’s loss this year. Some of the particulars may be different, but the overriding disregard of millions of voters is the same. I sent him a letter, though I know he probably won’t read it and it doesn’t do any good. It made me feel better. This is what I wrote:
Dear Mr. Gore,
I am shocked and saddened by your recent move to support Senator Obama as the democratic nominee for the 2008 presidential election. Many times in the past few months I have used your bid for the presidency as an example of what is wrong in US elections and the similarities to Senator Clinton’s run for the democratic nomination. I am surprised you do not see the similarities and would, in fact, choose to continue the policies that ignore millions of American voters, as they were ignored in 2000.
I have always considered myself a democrat and voted accordingly. I voted for you in 2000, and John Kerry in 2004. However, I am one of the millions who cannot and will not “fall in line” to vote for Senator Obama in November. In your movie, you mention that you “regret” not following through with a more fervent challenge to your presidential election. I cried when you said this and feel very much the same way about Senator Clinton. LIKE YOU – SHE HAS WON THE POPULAR VOTE. She is more qualified that Senator Obama. She has a proven track record that we can draw on to observe her ability to get things done. Senator Obama has no proven track record that we can rely upon.
We, as Americans, believe passionately in a free, open, and fair democratic process to nominate the Party’s strongest candidate to go against the opposition in the general election. That process was not followed by the Democratic National Committee (“DNC”); indeed, it was desecrated time and again by the media, the DNC, and Senator Obama’s campaign to hand-select the nominee they wanted. Hillary and her supporters were forced to endure caustic, sexist, and hate-filled comments throughout the primaries. The DNC’s and Senator Obama’s campaign’s deafening silence in opposition to this conduct by the media and Senator Obama’s supporters gave it weight and acceptance as a norm. Your support and endorsement of Senator Obama places the same accountability for his campaign and failures at squarely your feet.
While free speech is a right bestowed upon every American, responsible speech was vital to maintaining the Party’s unity. The DNC and Senator Obama’s campaign were given a multitude of opportunities throughout the primary season to provide leadership and stop the hateful and sexist comments in order to maintain party unity. This is particularly true for Senator Obama, whose actions will represent the nation on an international scale, should he win the general election. His conduct is not what I would deem “presidential.” I do not believe it is in our country’s best interests to have a president who would condone, let alone participate in sexist, hateful, and divisive remarks and behavior. Senator Obama and the DNC chose to allow the behavior to continue, and did so to their detriment. Their choice, your choice, Mr. Gore, has left millions of us wondering what kind of party would allow such divisiveness to penetrate and alienate its core constituencies when this is such a crucial year for the DNC as it seeks to regain the White House.
Senator Obama has shown his true colors during this primary season. Though the media continues to portray him as a symbolic messiah to gain his popularity, millions of us have independent minds and can think and read for ourselves. We have come to our own conclusions about his preparedness and his morals as he seeks the most influential office in the world. I do not believe that he is ready, nor does he represent my values.
As stated in Ronald Reagan’s immortal words in 1962, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The party left me.”
Respectfully,
A Will
A Puma Democrat
New post up.
Congratulations Pumas. Hundreds of letters sent today.
West Coasters and people who havent hit 5pm yet — keep sending them in! Hell, keep sending them all night.
Congratulations Knoxville for coordinating a very fine action today!
Sorry, I have that bad habit of reading magazines from the back to the front. I just did the same thing with the blog. I started reading from the last comment up. Many of you have already answered my question. Thanks!
Go be first on the new post Sister Puma and then you can keep up!
They wasted no time in begging for donations. I hit reply and this was my message:
Mr. Gore,
It is a sad day for me. I have always had the greatest respect for you but it is now waning. Unlike your global warming cause, which I support whole-heartedly, I cannot support your endorsement of Barack Obama. He is divisive, dishonest and inexperienced
After the disgraceful way the 2005 Presidential Election was handled and the horrendous way you were treated, I thought you, of all people, would see what is happening with the DNC’s “selected” nominee and would distance yourselft from the charade.
Please do not contact me again to support Barack Obama. I WILL NOT. I will tell you what I have told the DNC and Obama’s people…
When the leadership of the Democratic Party decides to represent the people’s wishes again I will reconsider my support. Until then they will get:
No support
No votes
No donations, only

Welcome modgirl329, glad you’re here with us!
Pelosi said months ago the super delegates should go with the popular vote. I can’t find the quote but she thought they should go along with what the people wanted. I think the DNC is having a tough time raising $ for Obama. Gore probably got some kick back for his endorsement. makes absolutely no sense. He knows better than anyone what happened to Hillary. I also heard that $ was given to one of Edwards charities for his endorsement. I would look this stuff up but I am not real good on the computer.

Ob has expressed interest in Al Gore for all energy and environmental issues . A cabinet position has been offered as well if I recall.
Ob wants the green electorat since women are seeing RED !!!!
I too do not trust Dean or BO. I’m afraid contributing to her website will get taken from her. I suggest putting a check for whatever you can contribute made out to Hillary Clinton for President (which was how mail in contributions were done) and sending it to her office. I also think it would be great to start a postcard campaign with the state prominently displayed (you know, the tourist kind?) and send those as well. Imagine a stack showing pictures from all the states she has visited waiting for her and showing support!
I can’t believe Al Gore has endorsed Noboma.
This a sad day. I have always respected Gore for his work on global warming and such, but he has lost some of my respect today. I guess he must have drank the koolaid.
I hope we will all let Gore know that endorsing Noboma is a mistake not only for him but for the party as a whole also.

That is a fantastic letter Will.
The Hillary I encounter a few minutes after Obama leaves the building is somber, prideful,
dark-humored, aggrieved, confused—and still high on the notion that she is leading an army, Napoleon in a navy pantsuit and gumball-size fake pearls. She is keenly aware of the weird dynamics in play as she contemplates her endgame: Albeit temporarily, the loser has more power than the winner. She, not Obama, is in a position to bring the party together or rip the thing to shreds. She, not he, has the capacity to orchestrate a merger of their warring factions of supporters.
“The real lesson of the campaign is that neither my base nor his base alone is sufficient for a general election,” she tells me. “That’s important to stress, because now we need to look to November and how we put together a winning majority. We’ve gotta get this coalition to work together, because clearly the Republicans have been more successful at picking off the people who voted for me, and that’s exactly who they’re going after again.”
But the situation is volatile. Her voters are angry, they feel dissed, they have to be coaxed along. The question is how to do it. She is hearing from countless allies, but much of their advice—as it has been all along through this marathon campaign—is useless. A war is raging inside her between rationality and denial. Maybe she should wait a week before doing anything. Or maybe two. Keep her options open. See what happens. You never know.

I don’t think you’re suffering from wishful thinking at all. I was struck less by the pictures than by the cryptic “I’ll be in touch soon” at the end of her note.
Also heartened by the comment from her campaign that they’re endorsing Obama “at the moment.”
I’m assuming she’ll give him a few more weeks to fall on his face. Really hoping the Sinclair story has legs at this point. He may be an oddball but given Obama’s other unsavory associates, his story is starting to seem more credible. The fact that Greta Van Susteren seems to be listening to him gives me hope. Should know by Thursday if the media (FOX) will air anything. I mean how much worse can it get than crack cocaine, gay sex and a triple murder? Does he have a bus big enough to cover all that?

No Way. What makes the Obama camp, the DNC, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed or other party leaders think that Hillary Clinton supporters will automatically fall in line just because Al Gore endorses BHO.
Obama is an illegitimate nominee whose corrupt politics stole Michigan Delegates just to gain the momentum in the end when it belonged to Hillary. So he can try to write off Ohio and Florida all he wants, he won’t win the General—not without us, he cannot. Yet Hillary could beat McCain and the fall and actually had both Popular Vote and over 308 Electorial Map needed to win in the fall and still the DNC and Party leaders dis her. So for Mr O to say he can win by creating a new map is expecting Democrats to keep him as the nominee on a hope and a prayer and a promise. How foolish of SuperDelegates to switch their vote for BHO when Hillary already had it in the bag.

I sent two letters from my household, but I’ve got to tell you, my husband and I are not happy with the “thoughtful and respectful” way the issues are being addressed. We are doing as many of the other activities we can do. But why is the PUMA group so careful to say we are Democrats commenting from within the Dem Party. We are furious.
To think that the majority of leaders in American society have approved an inexperienced, pathological liar, etc., etc., is beyond belief. And not only is Al Gore coming on board (of course), but conservative (The “Faith of George Bush”) Christian Stephen Mansfield will be publishing “The Faith of Barack Obama.” Add to this the Chicago theft of the DNC — look at the square footage Obamarxist rented in Chicago early on– the Rules and Bylaws Committee theft of delegate votes from Clinton, the caucus abuse set-up, and the refusal to permit Clinton’s name to be put in nomination on the first ballot at the Convention. One can go on and on and on. Any supposed million woman march (or its successor) on the convention will be too little, too late.
We have been led to believe that if we could just hang on, Obamarxist would be exposed; eventually the Republican 527s, the swiftboating will happen.
Well, I hope I am wrong, but I smell a gigantic con game going on, including Bush’s corporate and neocon supporters. Its purpose has been to exclude the possibility of realistic, pragmatic, centrist political attempts to solve the problems of Americans. And I am not sensing great support for John McCain except from Hillary supporters.
In addition to Bush corporate supporters, the media have been in the tank from the beginning. So has the so-called “progressive” blogosphere, along with the authoritarian leftists and the loser-leaders of the Dem Party — McGovern, Kennedy, Mondale, Carter, Kerry, Edwards, Gore. I hardly have the stomach to think of myself as a Democrat anymore.
Do you have a group for disgusted and furious people like myself? Or will I be exiled like Bill Clinton when he roared back at the willful misinterpretations of his knowledgeable and right-on “THIS IS A FAIRY TALE.”

I’m very green and I have no intention of being swayed by a green guy, it is too late. Democracy was tramped on and an experienced candidate and her supporters taken for granted. Why? They did not honor and respect the process and many were far too disloyal for my value system. I’ll vote for the green candidate over the democratic selected candidate but if the democratic party does the honorable move and nominates the candidate elected by the majority 18 million voters, well then I’ll come around and play green again:)

[[However, there is a rumor floating that Howard Dean and the DNC elites are trying hard to get her to concede her delegates to the no named one, so her name will not go onto the ballot at all at the convention. This is unprecedented action by the nitwits at the DNC if true, because other ‘losing’ primary candidates have taken their campaigns right into the convention in the past.]]
I wouldn’t put it passed them, they being so corrupt and hell bent on promoting BHO. But I hope she does not listen to the DNC and Dean; yet her emailer today with that photo album has overtones of a fare-thee-well in it.
It is my understanding that she can reactivate her campaign at a time of her chosing. To me that also means that she can do that at the Convention itself; especially if she makes it onto the roll call vote.
But first she would have to make her case to FULLY seat Florida and Michigan at the Credentials Committee which meets on the first day of the Denver Convention. Not such an easy thing to do when BHO now heads that Committee as well as being the leader of the DNC.
Also heard a few weeks ago, that they can even nominate a third person, or someone who wasn’t even running to get the nomination. This was done in the 1968 Convention I think when they put Hubert Humphrey as the party’s nominee to replace RFK. That’s the year RFK was assassinated and Robert M Daily mishandled riots in Chicago. Daily along with David Axelrod helped promote BHO in his 1996 bid for Illinois senator and now for the Democratic nomination.
Also, I read a Times article yesterday that in an unprecedented move, that BHO is moving the DNC office from DC to Chicago. Guess he wants all his corrupt friends near at hand.

HELP
I have a great suggestion.
I received a letter today from John Edwards asking me to renew my membership to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. I withdrew my membership when Florida and Michigan were disenfranchised. In the letter he points out that there are “30″ Republican congress members who are retiring this year rather than face our wrath in November. He is right in saying that opportunities like this don’t come around that often. I think we should not only protest the ones who supported Obama, but also rewards the one’s who stayed true to Hillary. My idea is that if someone could make a list of delegates who supported Hillary that will be running for these seats, we could help make sure they get elected. My problem is that I am too new to politics to know how to go about finding out that kind of information.
I hope someone here can come up with a way that we could support them. I will also be writing comments after each paragraph of the letter and mailing it back to them, with large letters at the bottom stating that “I AM NO LONGER A MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY”, and good luck trying to find a job after Novembers election.
well, I went to huffopost and it was not until I posted that that was a new fascist controlling method, my posts were not appearing, simply because I put PUMA in every one, yet people told me that it was a privately owned website, that maybe Arianna did not like PUMA, etc, which Ireplied that maybe Arianna was afraid of PUMA. As always, great comments and ideas from the group.
I sent my letter to Howard Dean and forwarded it to other HC supporters.
I will follow up on several ideas presented here today and will report back as soon as I can. I also thought of writing thank you letters to Dolores Huerta and Maya Angelou. I don’t know where they stand now, but they supported Hillary throughout the election. Ms. Angelou probably received a lot of criticism for her decision, but she stood her ground. What a strong woman! I’ll post my letters to them once they’re ready.
Someone may have mentioned this, but I caught BO on Lifetime today around 12:45 p.m. central time. I have no idea what he said because my T.V. was on mute. I hope he doesn’t return. I will have to start boycotting Lifetime (and I don’t want to do that). I didn’t know what to think when I saw him. I guess there plan is to keep running ads on Lifetime until we start thinking he is a super guy. Anyway, just thought that was somewhat interesting. Clearly they’ve caught on to the fact that Democrats are not falling in line, but they apparently can’t imagine that this isn’t just a “woman thing.” Sometimes they are just kind of tragic.
Best,
Lara
Faxed my letter to Howard Dean today. The woman faxing it was SO nice…she kept getting a busy signal with both numbers. She commented, “Well, someone else is probably trying to FAX too.” My son and I looked at each other and grinned. Then in the car my son said, “PUMA power!”
My gmail address will now display my name as heysandy, not my real name.
Just dropping in for a second… Someone might have already mentioned this too… I am working at home right now and had the news (MSNBC) on in the background. Chris Mathews was on… One of the people he had on discussing “women voters” (a female) said that women might be whatever enough to vote for McCain because they don’t make decisions based on logic -it’s all about what they “feel.”
Nice.
Is anything getting through?!?
Argh! Just a vent…
Back to my other work.
Best,
JGoldman1
I’m in for the Get Well cards tomorrow. I am going to include a teabag wrapper or coupon and note the card with a “Welcome to the 21st Century version of the Boston Tea Party.”
I will Fax my letter to Dean today – I usually call or e-mail daily! Is there a special day when we will ALL mail in our Change of Party notice to Mr. Dean – at his new Chicago address??? I have been waiting to change from the DNC so we could all go together – make a huge impact and let them know we will NOT unite – ever.
I want to send Another e-mail to Ms. Donna Brazile – she is a FRAUD – anyone have a good address for her – The last one I sent came back – guess she closed that account – got too much Hate Mail from REAL Hillary supporters.
Re: #567 JGoldman1
This is what I “feel.” I don’t vote for people who call women the b-word or the c-word. I don’t “feel” that I can vote for someone who has no understanding of ethics or is familiar with constitutional principles.
Yeah, they just don’t get it. Mathews probably agreed with everything that woman said. -Lara
Lara,
He sure did. So, this is the new tactic. Get someone else to say it -that way you don’t have to be responsible.
Sigh~
JGoldman1
#567 Please, please Lara, is this true? McCain called a woman the b-word or the c-word? if that’s the case, that makes my decision simple. Is it a rumor?
I had some spelling errors on my post #564. Please excuse. I’m in a hurry. Logging off now. -Lara08

Thanks for the email address. Have sent my thanks to Mary.
i did a google search on mccain and the c-word. i guess it’s really out there.
WOW – you really make it easy for us to get the letters and calls to Dean – hope he gets our message – loud and clear!!!! My letter is Sent! Thanks for all your hard work.
before everyone jumps on the FOX bandwagon…Rupert Murdoch(owner-newscorp-FOX parent company) supports BO called him a”rock star”
and said he was responsible for the New York Post endorsing BO(he also owns the NYP)
looks like we can’t trust anyone!!!
anyone see fox interview Obamas half brother today? I missed it ,my husband said he said he thought obama would make a good president even though he use to be muslum, and they showed him and obama and several others in musum dress.
Gore’s Endorsement
We should not be surprised at Gore’s endorsement of *61. The party is trying to act as if they are unified. To wait for *61 to self-destruct is a losing cause. No matter what, they are stuck with him.
The media is the wildcard in this election. We will have to look at Republican outlets for investigative coverage about *61.
As PUMAS we are protesting this travesty. I am so proud of this group and others. This is the first time in my life that I will be considered a swing voter. McCain will get my vote.
Re: 574 headoverhills on 06.16.08 at 7:00 pm
We were talking about Chris Mathews and the references to women being too emotional (irrational) to make a decision. So, if a Democrat female votes for McCain -she is just being irrational and making her decision based on what she “feels” — so by that logic, the conclusion must be that women are to irrational/emotional to vote -and we have been thrown back 100 years!
Just my 2 cents…
JGoldman1
Hello Pumas,
I sent my letter by fax to Howard and I had a few thoughts to share about recent events.
BO is not doing well and his Fathers Day speach went over like a lead baloon. How could he imagine that Fathers Day is a good time for criticism of absent black fathers? And the way he did it was very negative (absence makes weaker instead of presence makes stronger). His cup is definately half empty. Or does he just want to send a message to his new buddies?
I believe that Al Gore endorsed BO for the same reason Hillary Clinton stopped her campaign: They need to show that BO cannot be successful, even with all obsticals removed and endorsements from the Party.
I believe that Howard Dean just does’t get it yet. Obama’s tactics can work in the short term, but are not sustainable. The Bushwackers already stole all there is to steal. Dean blamed Hillary Clinton for BO’s loss of momentum. But he is actually somone who does not stand up to scrutiny and who cannot go the distance. Dean will probably continue to blame any party member who does not fall in line.
Stay focused Pumas. Let your voices be heard. Speak not in anger, but with conviction of what is right and fair. That goes the distance.
#581 DOH! Thanks Jgoldman, I should have gone up to see the original context to begin with… thank you for clarifying.
#578 GET OUT! Honestly??? Murdoch endorsed BO???? Whoa. That’s just plain unbelieveable. It’s surely a strange new world.
I guess I don’t think that it is unbelievable that a person like Murdock would endorse BO. BO is a hot commodity in the journalism and news world. New and exciting sells! The only thing is it could back fire if people get sick and tired of hearing about him. I know I am!!
Faxed several letters to Dean from myself and people in my office who will not vote for BO!!!!
On Lou Dobbs tonight reports
Now al gore is supporting bo and tells people to donate; yep right?
This is they last card to play, we are getting to them
At the same time Lou reports this news; the Democratic Party is 15 million short for the convention
Lots of people are changing their party affiliation
Stays strong do not give up the elite want to break us but they just don’t know
Ill vote McCain and I hope the Democratic Party loose the election becouse they are unfair
Go McCain

Not a problem!
Letter Sent. Phantom Joel
Huffington Post monitors their blogs and if they are not in tune with their beliefs, they’re out. Putting PUMA on the posts probably sends a red flag…tooo bad.
Good evening,
I emailed my letter to Howard Dean…..found out that Al Gore drinked the kool-aid and endorsed BO….so I sent him an email at algore@algore.com. The bright spot was receiving an email from our Hillary. I know that it’s not over. I am keeping the faith. I hope that the Larry Sinclair piece will finally get some attention. BO is just a BIG ? to me. I don’t trust him at all.
Anyway just wanted to pop in right quick and will continue to do what I can.
Peace to all of you…God Bless!
I sent my letter!
I got one of those donation letters from Al Gore, I replyed I will never vote for obama I am one in 18 million
Emailed letter and faxed both phone numbers to dr. scream!
(Fabulous job Brian, Elaine, and mpk on your letter to dr scream. Thank you.)
Emailed Al Gore (fellow Tennessean) to let him know how disappointed I was in him.
Got the email from “Our Hillary” and it made my heart
happy again to hear from her!! Miss seeing her on the
news every night!
I guess dr scream is wanting to be the vp or in bo’s cabinet…along with some of the other back stabbers.
breintn
a proud p.u.m.a / one in 18 million
HELLO FELLOW WARRIORS;)
RE: Barbara Streisand & BO Endorsement! (& a lil bit on Gore’s too…& why it’s always in MI!)
But first a lil pep up;-)
LaRouche & his pac have insider view of primary & conventions (having run for Prez few times)
http://www.larouchepac.com/news/2008/06/12/howard-dean-schemes-shut-down-democratic-convention.html
OK.
SO, another big endorsement in MICHIGAN for BO – GORE now, Edwards bf. This must be his way of making MI ppl forget he took his name off their ballot, voted against their full vote, etc. Even the Gov, who stayed with HRC as long as she could, had to do the warm up speech…someone has a petition up for her to endorse BO, and reports state that more than half of MI delegates support BO! It’s things like this which allow ppl like BO & Dean to do, act, say things that are expedient then but never have to face its repercussions later!!! argh!!! (or, on the faint chance they do, it will be years & years later, after they’ve already gotten what they want…eg, Florida lawsuit against the GOP for 2000, is still in working stage!)
Gore introduces BO as Solver of Problems……EXCUSE ME!?!!–Isn’t this ALSO one of HRC’s phrases & talking points???!!! So the continued copying of HRC’s speech/policy points continues, with no one calling him to account to the public, or otherwise…!! sheesh.

Letter in the mail to Dean and fax will go too.
Amazing all the work everybody is doing! Thank you!
I have voted in the poll too.
Great letter to Dean. I emailed him and have been trying all day to get my faxed letter to the him as well. I’m west coast, so I will just keep trying. I have a feeling they were flooded and may have pulled the plug!
Go Pumas!
I too emailed my letter to Dr. scream..will fax one tomorrow.
Well Al Gore was asked by the same party that didn’t stand up for him either, to be a good soldier and get out there and let the people know that this candidate ,who has not one thing to qualify him to even run, is the candidate of the Dem. Party.!! Oh well, another follower.
Listen Murphy, if you read this, please if there is something I can do to help let me know. I’m here to listen, to vent, and to be productive. I am going to Denver for the March,or without the March. I am here because of people like you and and RD .
I’ll be sending a letter to Al Gore tomorrow.
Sleep well and Good Night to all. See you later
This version sounds sort of watered down and impotent. It doesn’t mention the one REAL power we have: vote strike against Obama.
The earlier version I saw at least said that some people would be staying home, some writing in Hillary — and many voting for McCain.
I believe that Al Gore endorsed BO for the same reason Hillary Clinton stopped her campaign: They need to show that BO cannot be successful, even with all obsticals removed and endorsements from the Party.
Mmm-mm.
Got a new email for DNC of Al Gore endorsing Obama. Here was my response.
Lisa
Mr. Al Gore,
While I understand that politically you have to endorse Obama, I am now a Puma democrat. I no longer support the dnc after they railroaded Hillary Clinton in this election. I fully plan to vote and financially support John McCain. While he is not my first choice he is by far the better of the two candidates.
Good luck.

Letter is sent, Gore endorsement ignored.
I made my donation yesterday right to Hillary’s web site, whenever I get donation letters from DNC and now Al Gore I tell them I will not donate to them and why and that I am one of 18 million. Right now I am trying to find the intrview from yesterday with obamas half brother. Obama must be running scared as he should be they said on fox this morning he started smoking again and is encoureing blue collar workers to light up, tobaco that is.
I faxed my letter to Howard Dean this morning. I also emailed the letter to 10 friends asking them to take action too, and to forward it to anyone else they think is on board. Let’s get everyone involved!
I just sent an e-mail to Hannity and colmes about them saying we will come around in the fall ! Here is what I said: Hello,
After lasts nights show I wanted to let you know that Hillary suporters will not follow Obama. A strong coalition has formed of millions ,both men and women who will not back down and follow obama. It is time for us to be taken serious, we are upset with the Democratic party and there are pettions out there right now and lots of other action in the works, we are not pleased with comments last night.
Thank You
Elizabeth Eytchison

Pelosi: The race is not over
Posted: 05:30 PM ET
From CNN Congressional Producer Deirdre Walsh
Pelosi, who has repeatedly said she remains neutral in the Democrats’ nomination battle, was asked whether Clinton’s slim margin of victory in Indiana meant her campaign was finished.
“A win is a win. A win is a win. Let’s just call it what it is,” Pelosi said.

What really happened:
On one side, Eugene McCarthy, ran a decidedly anti-war campaign, calling for immediate withdrawal from the region. On the other side, Vice President Hubert Humphrey, from Minnesota, who did not participate in any primaries but controlled enough delegates to secure the nomination
The Democrats eventually nominated Humphrey, who went on to lose the election to Richard M. Nixon. The confusion of the convention, and the unhappiness of many liberals with the outcome, led the Democrats to begin reforms of their nominating process, increasing the role of primaries and decreasing the power of party delegates in the selection process.
I don’t know if this is of interest to anyone but it presents an opportunity to record a video for Obama.
It is an appeal for him to put Clinton on the ticket, which does not suit out agenda . . . but it is an opportunity to communicate to him directly our stance on his positions ( or lack thereof ).

Someone here posted a link to a YouTube video of The Honorable James David Manning of ATLAH Worldwide Ministries of Harlem New Your.
Well, I’ve researched some others and placed them on my own web site. If you want to see them, go to,

Hey all,
Sent my letter to Howard Dean. Started sending letters to the 10 women Senators, sent two to Al Gore, sense he felt the need to send me two. Told him that I knew he wasn’t boosum buddies with Bill C. , but after the treatment he received, he should be their to support Hillary, especially when our own Party did it to her. Told him that I thought he was different and would’ve stood up for justice and fair play and they biased way Hillary was treated. Told Al, that there was some of us that still had a conscious and loved our country to put it ‘s fate in the hands of such a novice.
He probably didn’t even get to see the e-mail. I’m sure the Obamakids delete anything negative, to keep every new recruit in oblivion.
