First Draft, Happy Father’s Day!

Send Bill Clinton warm wishes from Puma PAC!

Let’s send Bill Clinton a card today. He worked so tirelessly and passionately for his wife these past months. He was her most loyal and fiercest defender. He too was smeared for his support of Hillary. Watching him in the crowd as Hillary give her victory speech in New York and her suspension speech in Washington D.C., with Chelsea by his side, I was moved. I’ll never forget that look on his face of unabashed pride and love for his wife.

Right-click on the beautiful card, designed by our own proud Puma in Sin City — dcinvegas@gmail.com, and download it to your computer or save it in whatever format works for you. Send it in an email to info@hillaryclinton.com (that’s the closest we can get, but I’m SURE the thousands of emails you send will be brought to his attention). Add your own personal note, and remember to sign yourself a Puma Democrat. Precise, brief, and sincere notes are MOST likely to be read. If you have technical difficulties, please send an email to murphy@pumapac.org, but I’m confident you can do it!

Also, Happy Father’s Day to all the Puma Daddies out there! The Democratic party is the true coalition and unity party. We’re the party to which the union guys, the veterans, the teachers, the immigrants, the police officers, the soccer dads and every other kind of American man who makes this country great belongs. Have a peaceful and happy day today.

Send your own father a special Puma PAC card, also designed by the most-fabulous dcinvegas.

In comments below, send your father a message. Tell us why you’re grateful to him, or proud of him, or something important that he taught you. Tell us a funny story about him. What did he teach you about being an American or loving your country?

Spend time with your Dad today, in fact or in spirit.

antifish, you rock! Have you sent your card? I just did! yay!

#3 hillaryistheone on 06.15.08 at 12:18 am

I sent mine, thanks for the wonderful thought!!!

Happy Fathers Day Mr. President and we are hoping that next year we will be able to say Happy Mothers Day to President Hillary!!!

#4 antifish on 06.15.08 at 12:24 am

Dragonfly,

You rock, too! We all do! Yes, I sent my card and told President Clinton that we miss him, Hillary and Chelsea.
Thank you, so much to dcinvegas for the wonderful card!

My father was an abusive a**hole so that takes care of my Father’s Day sentiments.

Just got an auto reply from Hillary! Cool!

#5 goandersen on 06.15.08 at 12:26 am

Mine is off too!

#6 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 12:27 am

Murphy, this is a great idea. My dad – well, I am very proud of him for being so passionate about helping people who usually don’t have the voice or the power or the money needed to solve the problem at hand. I remember being so intrigued by this man I thought I knew so well when he told me he was thinking of voting for Nader because of his activism on behalf of consumers. Dad sees our point of view, but he does not believe that anything will change. I hope to inspire him that yes, we can make a difference and improve our political system.

#7 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 12:30 am

antifish – sorry to hear that about your dad. any hope for his redemption? Whenever I hear about abusive a**holes, I think Sling Blade – “I studied on killin you. Studied on it quite a bit. . . . [now] I feel sorry for you.” I love that movie.

#8 hillaryistheone on 06.15.08 at 12:36 am

I am with you antifish, mine ran off when I was 4, left Mom with 6 children. But I had a Wonderful Mom and if she was alive today she would be all for Hillary!!!

We always told Mom Happy Fathers Day…she had the task of being Mom and Dad!!

#9 Susie1945 on 06.15.08 at 12:41 am

Very nice card Murphy – thanks to dcinvegas……my father is no longer alive – was a WWII vet – so it feels kinda nice to be able to send a card to Bill…..

#10 GOSUEF4HIL on 06.15.08 at 12:42 am

Although my husband has consumed MASSIVE amounts off kool-aide, he is a great father and I couldn’t want anyone else for the father of my kids.

Happy Father’s Day Pat,

SF & kids

thanks for the flyer. Great job

#17 gay guy on 06.15.08 at 1:12 am

It is so great to have so many talented people at this and other sites. My partner and I came into the computer age a bit late so we are not as savy as many of you here. So I hope ya’ll don’t mind if we borrow stuff from you to pass along to others. I always want to learn though so if someone could tell me how to copy and paste a link so it can be accessed from the post I’d appreciate it. Whenever I do it it just copies and you can not click on it from the post. Thanks

#18 N. Lee on 06.15.08 at 1:13 am

I usually keep the link on a separate line. That helps.

#19 gay guy on 06.15.08 at 1:14 am

Thanks I’ll try that next time

#20 gay guy on 06.15.08 at 1:16 am

So have you heard where Obama said in Philly if there were a fight and you brought a knife he would bring a gun. What kind of person running for president talks about bringing a gun to a fight. The things that come out of his mouth is unreal

#21 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 1:16 am

N. Lee – loved the video! earlier someone else posted a video link too on the numbers – check out sparkle’s post. I will see if I can repost the link in a minute.

#22 N. Lee on 06.15.08 at 1:20 am

thanx Dragonfly.

That is my talent…videos and advertising

N. Lee – I loved the one on the DNC in Chicago too! You are really good. The music is so perfect.

#25 murphy on 06.15.08 at 1:39 am

oops, sorry late night Pumas. There is a new Happy Father’s Day post up on the front page as well as a new open thread for other comments.

Please copy and paste your comments up there!

Thanks!

#26 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 1:39 am

Hey, gay guy, still here? yes we were talking about the knife gun thing earlier. Horrible. Someone from the HRC site was looking for you the other day – glad to see you here.

#27 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 1:40 am

thought you went to bed, Murphy? ;-)

#28 ShortTermer on 06.15.08 at 1:41 am

I went to TM to read her articles I told myself and to post about the Virtual Town Hall that John McCain held.

I posted this reply to LisaLisaLisa on TM: LisaLisaLisa, you comment about 70% of Hillary supporters are already behind Obama anyway just is not accurate. If that percentage of supporters were already drinking the Kool Aid, why is everybody still discussing Hillary and her supporters? In my estimation, 70% of Hillary supporters are now planted with feet in concrete for anyone but Obama – most seem to prefer McCain.
We are all beginning to connect the dots that there is more to Obama’s run for President than meets the eye. I fully and truly believe that he and his puppetmasters have decided that America is to be in a totalitarian rule. He is doing almost exactly as Hitler did; and remember that many of his associations were haters of America.
Hitler made promises to his people, and he kept those promises and that kept the would be skeptics loyal. Hitler used the youth and their niavety and made them feel empowered, and they worshipped him and would sacrifice themselves for him. He was a brilliant madman. He used behavior modification and indoctrination. I had this gut feeling that there was something more wrong about him than just his inexperience and thin resume, and things that he has done, and his supporters have said has convinced me that a take over of our country is imminent. There is a clear and present danger.
With him using violent motions and words like: stick the knife in and twist it just so, if they bring a knife we’ll bring a gun, and then something that Marc said in one of his responses to me. Marc’s response from “In One Ear Out the Other Ear” read like this, “If you and your fellow reactionaries lose this election for the Democrats, understand that this will be more than just a fight between the men and women in this country. Those of us who have never had the benefit of a righteous leader and who are finally feeling the surge of our own political empowerment will disown mothers everywhere who based their decisions not on fact but on emotions. Parents whose same emotional reaction put Bush into office in 2000 and re-elected him in 2004. If this kind of thinking defeats us in 2008, then mothers are not that good of things to have after all.”
Now this was a young white man appearing to be in his 20s or 30s from the photo on his blogsite, who said he was college educated, but his mind was as closed as a steel trap; but, his statement more than just a fight between the women and men in THIS COUNTRY scares me and I don’t bluff too easily. If someone of some intelligence can be so indoctrinated with the lies – then we are in deep trouble.

Hey, Gay Guy, N. Lee and Dragonfly and others. Isn’t it amazing what goes on here?

shorttermer,

While I am more than happy to host a discussion between your group and my blog I’ll ask if you could maintain civility amongst your group, specifically one Brian from Knoxville. I will not deal with arguments that turn personal, and I don’t believe it helps you either that he acts in such a manner. Otherwise, enjoying the opportunity to defend my position at In One Ear… Out the Other, and if you would like to discuss the generational gap issue sometime, I’d be more than happy to open up a new thread and cross link each other for discussion.

#53 Jazzd on 06.15.08 at 2:33 am

I think people that are not voting McCain are anti-America. Since Obama’s people think that not voting for him is being a racist, we say “Not voting McCain
makes you anti-American”.

#54 Jazzd on 06.15.08 at 2:49 am

Murphy,

Thanks for taking the suggestion of doctoring up the
t-shirts. It looks good.

I have a question. You know, we continue to get more new people coming into this blog. Some may not have time to read all the hundreds of posts in a day. I spent a lot of time reading all the posts when I first discovered PUMA.

What do you or the other bloggers think about taking the posts that have substance (meat and potatoes) and posting them on the PUMA website. There are many casual posts and chats (which is nice as it is a blogging community) . However, for someone (new or otherwise) that want to keep up with what is going on as far as posts/news/debates/videos/flyers/ etc it is very time consuming to wade through each day.

I propose picking out the meat and potatoes posts from day one and put them on a web page . Post them in order of dates so people can see the progression of the cause.

I think perhaps people from the press, people in the politico, etc may be curious and want to check it out. It would be more conducive and we could be taken more seriously if we don’t have to publish the ‘good nights’ and the hello’s and the friendly chatter.

I may be long winded in this but I think you guys know what I am getting at. I am sure we have a web guy on this blog that can do that. If not, errr… my husband does our website… very nice not home madey… I could ask him to get it designed and I could upload daily substantial blogs.

Let me know what you think.

#55 sandipuma on 06.15.08 at 2:53 am

Well now that i checked out My Space and Dcinvegas site and i must say i loved it. I guess I will say good night. Night all pumas and see you later.
I am PUMA hear me ROARRRRR

#56 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 2:53 am

Jazzd – sounds good. We have received many suggestions on improving the site. Sadly, I do not know how to implement them. I just pass them on to Murphy and hope. Your husband may be needed! Not sure if Murphy heard from “blog savvy” folks the other day.

#57 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 2:53 am

sandipuma – glad you got the card sent. your post was hilarious!

#58 sandipuma on 06.15.08 at 2:56 am

#60 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 2:58 am

I know it must have been frustrating. I think you were just too tired and we were all posting advice amongst other unrelated posts . . . didn’t help much did it? :-)

#61 sandipuma on 06.15.08 at 2:59 am

It has been so hot here and i was out in the heat today for 7 hours and got sick. So i guess i can’t do that no more untill the fall now as i have CHF,

#62 Dragonfly on 06.15.08 at 3:01 am

#66 sandipuma on 06.15.08 at 3:05 am

not caos caps

#67 sandipuma on 06.15.08 at 3:06 am

night take care all and sweet dreams

#68 Jazzd on 06.15.08 at 3:13 am

And another thing,,, whenever the press gets on him about some unsavoury thing that he or his wife did or said, his go to answer is “Lets keep to the issues that are important to the American people”

WTF ! Does he not get that “HE” is the important issue we want to talk about !!! He is what we want to debate. “HE” is what we want to explain to us the American people, the suspicions we have for him.
Does he not realise that we are in the process of ELECTING a President – we are in the interview process.
We need to find out what he and his spouse are about.

Any one can talk about issues and promises of a great future – do we want him to be the one to talk to us about it!? That is the question that is still looming in our minds. Yes,All those issues are important to us – Let us ask the questions, let us get over our suspicions if we can but do not belittle or put us on a guilt trip by telling us that if we question you, that it is because we are racists. It is Obama’s trump card – unfortunately for us, he plays it well and often in so many subtle ways.

God save our country because Obama won’t

#69 Jazzd on 06.15.08 at 3:28 am

Dragon fly… I talked to my husband about the PUMA website.. he does not blog.. only hears about it passionately through me… I think he will do it if I bug him enough.

I will see what Murphy says. The PUMA website needs serious work. Besides it is extremely difficult to get into the blog. I must have tried 20 times but my computer keeps getting frozen and non responsive. It is only when I click on the page – which comes up but freezes immediately. It is very strange because I can still zoom around on CNN.com

Finally I took out my lab top (which I am now using) and it is fine . Several other posts said the same thing about the site being frozen all the time…

Think about it, should someone significant try to get in to see what this is about, and they can’t log on or get it,,,,

I also think that with blogs it is so fleeting because questions raised two days ago gets buried and impossible to find answers to them or see answers or replies if any.. One just keeps moving to the next days blogs and the next..

#70 anonymous on 06.15.08 at 4:37 am

Hi Murphy and Hillary Family,

I was just thinking of something. Can we use like a bumper or something with a sign:

18 million Nobama
and further down PUMA

If we make it like a t-shirt maybe we could put PUMA on the other side or like:

18 million Nobama…PUMA

What do you guys think?

PLEASE RESPOND.

#71 anonymous on 06.15.08 at 4:39 am

Ooops…I meant to say “bumper sticker”

Sorry, it’s been a long day and I felt very dizzy earlier today. I could hardly walk. It happened to me before. I took a nap and then was okay a few hours later.

My dad died of brain cancer when I was 10.5 years old. It was 1.5 months after USSR fell apart. As soon as the fighting broke out in Moscow on Red Square and the news reported that Gorbochev was kidnapped my dad ran off with my oldest nephew and sister to the passport agency to have my nephew inscribed into my sister’s passport so that we could leave in case something starts to happen–massive killing of Jews. As he was getting into the car he was very worried and in a hurry. He hit his head very hard against the ridge of the door, and that triggered the cancerous mass to grow. The fighting broke out on August 19th, 1991, and my dad died on October 7th, 1991. He died just before my mom and aunt came back from arranging to have him transformed to the hospital in Israel so that they could operate on him because every doctor in Russia said that he would die on the table during the surgery since it was in the inoperable zone, and only one of the best doctors in Israel agreed to do a surgery on him. I am so grateful to my mom that she never got married again. On father’s day in 1999 I saw an ad in one of the ad-papers which showed a t-shirt with a sign on it:
“don’t leave the house without me” with a picture of Visa, and I bought it for my uncle and my brother-in-law.

#74 anonymous on 06.15.08 at 5:45 am

#28 Short Termer, you’re absolutelly right about Hitler. I totally forgot about it. Oh, and we could also relate Yassir Arafat to this. He and other terrorists are teaching young people and their parents that if they blow up themselves and kill as many Jews as possible, they’ll go to Heaven and have many women with them. It’s very scary.

I am sorry about sending so many responses one after the other. I have so many thoughts.

#17 Gay guy–I haven’t seen you here for a few days.

I have no idea about how to copy the link except I THINK (I’ve never tried it), N.Lee please correct me if I am wrong. I “THINK” that when you open the link you can copy and paste it onto another blog. Again, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT!!! I am so far behind that I don’t understand more than half of the abreviations that you guys use. I usually guess, but some I am completelly stuck with. Sorry that I can’t be of more help.

Good nite

P.S. I don’t want to make this into a separate post, but I thought that it might be interesting for people to see–PLEASE DON’T HATE ME FOR POSTING THIS LINK:

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/06/14/sock-monkey-named-for-obama-criticized-as-racist/

It might sound racist, so I apologize ahead of time if it will offend anyone.

#75 anonymous on 06.15.08 at 5:58 am

#54 Jazzd and Murphy, please don’t take out other posts. There would be no way for us to talk to each other if you do that. We can have two posts: one for qoutes, articles, etc, and the other just for us to talk to each other. What do you think?

Hi guys, Happy Fathers day to all you Puma dads out there. Your kids have something to be proud of. A father who cares about his country and is fighting for what he thinks is right. And to those of you who have daughters, a special thanks to you. All of you dad’s have set an example for your children to be proud of, I wish all of you a Happy fathers day.
My mom and dad are no longer with me, but they were wonderful parents and they are in my heart forever.

#77 prplvette85 on 06.15.08 at 8:28 am

I went to my email this morning and had a email from *61 campaign. I do not know how they got my email. I don’t even go on their site …ever. I unsubscribed with this message.

I do not support a candidate that does not support all voters in all states, I am one of 18 million that no longer supports the dnc and a selected not elected candidate.

#78 prplvette85 on 06.15.08 at 8:35 am

I just went back and looked, the email was from Democrats.org. Written by David Plouffe. I do not know where they are getting my email address from, as I unsubscribed to the dnc right after the primary. I also canceled my membership and told them I want a refund of all my donations.

#79 prplvette85 on 06.15.08 at 8:41 am

#20 Hi gay guy,
nice to see you again. I agree that comment about the guns. Especially since Chicago has such a high murder rate with teens getting killed by guns. It is on the news everyday. A very stupid remark for a candidate from the same city that is trying to fight teen violence as seen on the news daily.

happy fathers day puma dads
well i guess the only thing (unfortunately )that i can say about my father is he taught me how important it is to be there for your family ,i say unfortunately because the way he taught me was by him not ever being there for me physically or emotionally so i learned first hand from the horrible pain and abandonment i felt growing up and still feel today as a 43 year old dad ,i will never do that to my child no matter what happens ,
so on that note i raise my coffe cup to all the dads who are there for there kids ,families
god bless you all

Keith Olbermann, Tucker and Mathews, don’t celebrate a fathers day, because they weren’t born of woman, they are pigs, who don’t know what is to respect a woman…..

#83 utahpuma on 06.15.08 at 7:13 pm

I finally set up a new email, please include me on your lists. utpuma@gmail.com

Also I have sent emails to the Utah supers (Clinton and NoName), and would be happy to send to others. It’s pretty easy. Does anyone have a letter format I can use? I guess I need one for Clinton supporters, a different one for the Noname supporter, and then theres the undecided. With a template I can copy and paste and hit quite a few from several states. Also, I won’t forget any important facts or info to include.

Also sent President Clinton a Fathers Day card.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Puma dads.

#84 Seattlegirl on 06.16.08 at 12:57 am

Happy Fathers day to all PUMA Dads especially tec1965. My father grew up without his Dad and he became the best Dad anyone could have. I guess he had a dream about a good Dad so he knew just what to do when he became my Dad. He has passed on now but I think of him daily. Fathers are very important to their kids and families.

:) :) :) :) hahahahahaha. I am sorry I can’t stop laughing. I LOVE THIS!!! HE’S LOOSING HIS BRAIN!!! Jon Stewart called him “Napoleon” on his show on June 4th–typical name for a crazy person because they think that they are Napoleons. I love Jon Stewart. I’ll send him a thank you note.
