Does it make sense to remove the “www” from the url on the bottom of our logo?

#2 murphy on 06.13.08 at 6:13 pm

no it’s there so people recognize it as a website

IndyPuma#9 — yup. Maryland Puma did a GREAT job working all those details out.

#11 Hillgirl on 06.13.08 at 8:07 pm

Wow, you are all stupendous! Tee shirts, mugs, myspace page. Fantastic. Kudos to all who worked on these projects. I am going to order my tee shirt right now!

#12 heysandy on 06.13.08 at 8:17 pm

This is off topic, but Hillary Clinton’s website has issued a tribute to Tim Russert: A joint statement of Senator Hillary and former President Wiliam Jefferson Clinton. No such thing on Obama’s Website.

#13 PumaAllie on 06.13.08 at 8:24 pm

hey Murphy.

I don’t like to criticise, but could you at least provide screenshots?

#14 heysandy on 06.13.08 at 8:26 pm

Sorry! There is now a statement on BO’s website concerning Tim Russert.

#15 Maryland PUMA on 06.13.08 at 8:38 pm

Murphy, you ROCK! I sent you a jpg that should have a transparent background so that the square of the graphic doesn’t show.

Let me know if you need any other stuff.

#16 kai on 06.13.08 at 8:39 pm

OBAMA will miss Tim Russert because Russert was one of OBAMA’s biggest cheerleaders in the MEDIA.

csuzeq…can you please find the Arlen Spector link where he talked about holding congressional hearings on DNC breaking the laws? We should encourage these hearings because if they happen, it will get media attention which in turn will inform people who had no idea what has happened. You’ll be amazed at how many people are voting for OBAMA who have no idea about who this guy really is. All they hear are the media reports and we all know the MEDIA IS IN LOVE WITH OBAMA. A hearing from Spector will show how UNFAIR this entire process has been.

#17 anonymous on 06.13.08 at 8:44 pm

Hey guys,

I am loving this. Check out this article. NOW OBAMA WILL LOOSE BIG TIME. I AM SO HAPPY! JEWISH VOTERS WILL NEVER GO FOR HIM!!! YYEEEHHHAAA!

Anonymous: If this is for real I do not think it is wise to post the code number. It is now accessible to those who are not Hillary supporters.

FYI Debra Bartoshevich, a Clinton delegate from Wisconsin, will vote for Clinton at the convention. If Clinton does not win she will vote for McCain in the GE.

#19 rlp33 on 06.13.08 at 10:32 pm

Have you seen this. How funny…

John McCains website – A lady holding a Hillary for prez sign with some McCain stickers on it….

Yeah buddy…..if not Hillary McCain it is!

http://www.johnmccain.com/HomeLogged.aspx

#20 ozgal on 06.13.08 at 10:51 pm

do you have pictures of the TShirts?

Here is a thought about the logo- to encourage critical thinking…

“PUMA – paws for thought!”

#21 anonymous on 06.13.08 at 11:00 pm

#18 kavala007, thank you. You’re right I shouldn’t have posted the access code. Unfortunatelly I don’t have emails for people to let them know about it. I received it today from another Hillary blogger, and I just copied it from my email. If you know of a way to let other people know about it, I’ll appreciate it. I want as many people to get a chance to participate as possible.

About 2 months ago, Hillary designed a GOTV (Get Out To Vote) phone system, and one of the guys in charge held daily training sessions. In each training session somebody from the campaign would start off by telling us “thank you”. One time Hillary was on, President Clinton was on 2 times, and Chelsea came on 1 time after the Puerto Rico primary. Maggie Wiliams talked to us once. It was a lot of fun.

Thank you for your feedback,

#23 rlp33 on 06.13.08 at 11:02 pm

I’m confussed. What does this mean?

“He has just taken over the DNC and moved it to the cess pool of politics, Chicago”

I had read this about Obama. What does that mean? How can he take it over and move it to Chicago?

#24 murphy on 06.13.08 at 11:14 pm

Anonymous, no trashing allowed! you did right and your comments were sincere. Only deleted because of the creeps out there, not bc of you!

#25 TMendez on 06.14.08 at 12:46 am

For anyone interested in getting unfiltered information about McCain, he is holding a “tele-town hall” on Saturday. The more I read about and hear McCain, the more I like and respect him. Here’s a link if you’d like to participate. http://cityhall.johnmccain.com/

#26 rob3gd on 06.14.08 at 3:10 am

OK so i think that you should have PUMA on the shirt and in the back have a slogan like, “fight back against the DNC”

#27 Jazzd on 06.14.08 at 3:25 am

I don’t mean to be critical… but the PUMA shirt does not tell any outsiders what is PUMA for. Is it for Hillary, against the DNC, keeping Obama in check ?? It has to say volumes to someone outside of the Puma bloggersphere. Otherwise it is a whisper in the wind. I am for all the passions everyone shares in these pro Hillary sites but if I am going to buy a T shirt or mug, I would rather it be for the focus of all our passions and believes – not just PUMA. As I have mentioned, time is short, we are out numbered… we need BANG FOR OUR BUCK. We cannot be seen to be home spun.

Again, I don’t mean to be critical but I am from a creative industry so I am used to thinking that way.
Perhaps have the PUMA logo on the pocket area and a back print saying something about the DNC or Hillary.
I always believe in killing two birds with one stone.

#28 Naoko on 06.14.08 at 3:28 am

I agree with Jazzd – the “new” PUMA logo doesn’t do it!

#30 kavala007 on 06.14.08 at 3:57 am

anonymous – Why would I trash you? I applaud your efforts to get as many people as possible on the call as a show of support for Hillary. The goal is to make sure that only supporters are on the line. That way we can protect Hillary. I don’t know how to get the code out. When I am on a conference call someone usually emails the code to me.

#31 anonymous on 06.14.08 at 4:22 am

#29 kavala007, I am sorry. I take things very personally. When somebody on the blog says “Obama bots” I usually think that it refers to me. I am sorry.

Thank you for your input,

Current Article*Breaking* Hillary Definitely has NOT Released Delegates (& Call to Action)
By TexasDarlincloseAuthor: TexasDarlin Name: Texas Darlin

Site: http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com
About: See Authors Posts (19) on June 13, 2008 at 10:55 PM in Delegates, Democracy, Democratic National Convention, Democrats, Hillary Clinton

Original published on 6/10/08, along with comments, lost to server error.

In an earlier story, No Quarter rushed to counter a rumor started Tuesday at Taylor Marsh, which published the headline Hillary Releases Delegates, linking to a quote from a delegate who was reportedly on a conference call with Clinton and Ickes last night. Apparently the rumor is now spreading like wildfire across the blogs, including at Politico.

The rumor is FALSE.

I have just received an e-mail message from Mary Boergers, a former Maryland State Senator and a pledged Clinton delegate. Mary was on the conference call with Hillary Clinton last night, and she has given us permission to publish her message in full:

I was on that conference call and there was nothing in Hillary’s comments to indicate that she was releasing her delegates and urging them to vote for Obama on the first vote in Denver. In fact what Harold Ikes said was that the campaign would like to keep Hillary’s delegates together so that she can more effectively fight for issues like universal health care to make sure it is included in the party platform.

This seems like deliberate misinformation. (Sound familiar!)

One of the super delegates who was in London in fact complained about the strong arm pressure from the Obama campaign to immediately (last Friday before Hillary’s speech) switch their vote to Obama.

So to me the strategy is clear. The Obama folks want to try and prevent us from nominating Hillary at the convention and voting for her at the convention. We need to STOP this. Historically losing candidates always have their names put into nomination, give a great speech and then there is a roll call vote. The presumptive nominee gets the majority and then there may be a call to make it unanimous.

We need to make sure that people are aware of this procedure. Once again the Obama people are trying to change the rule of the game, pretending that they were always the rules in order to push Hillary aside. We must keep them from succeeding.

To me this is the most important thing that we can do right now. We need to attack Howard Dean for saying that he hopes there isn’t a role call vote at the convention.

This pressure, heavy handed tactics and “shot gun” marriage effort must end. This is the fight that we need to continue!

Mary Boergers

To repeat Mary’s call to action: We need to attack Howard Dean for saying that he hopes there isn’t a role call at the convention.

antifish: I checked out the web.israelinsider link, and the link to the jpost article keeps giving me a 404 error and I couldn’t find it in the archives or anywhere. As jpost has been drooling over obama, if you can post the link to the jpost article (if it exists), I’d really appreciate it.

#37 ABinNY on 06.14.08 at 7:52 am

Jazzd…Here’s my letter to Dean:
“Mr. Dean,
I am aware that you hope there is not a roll call at the convention in August. Will you ever allow this process to play out the way it is supposed to be conducted?
Obama is not the nominee of the party until the roll call at the convention. His is not the only name that should be on the general election ballot before there is even a roll call!

Hillary Clinton has not conceded nor has she ended her candidacy, she merely suspended her campaign and must be put into nomination at the convention, so that a roll call of the delegates may vote for the nominee. Then, and only then, can a candidate be considered the actual “nominee” of the Democratic Party. Until that happens considering Obama as the Nominee is as much of a sham as calling you the Chairman of the DNC…you are both a disgrace to American Democracy.”

#38 Lin4Hill on 06.14.08 at 8:01 am

Just ordered a t-shirt. I’ll take it in whatever final form you all decide. Like the idea of “PUMA – Paws for Thought” Very Clever. I may personally write on the back, “I’ll Remember in November” or “I’m Taking It From Here”
All this info about the pressure to release delegates (rumor) and the move to Chicago (odd?) reeks of fear–fear of us, y’all. They want to lock it away before it comes back to bite them. They fear the embarrassment of the roll call–that it will reveal the disunity that is actually out there.
It won’t stop us.

#39 CTKEY on 06.14.08 at 8:14 am

Good stuff and will do some shopping. It looks like we have some good feedback on this and next steps. Thank you all for posting. It’s great being here. Keep on the actions steps and getting more people to this site.

#40 murphy on 06.14.08 at 8:14 am

Lin4Hill — check the update at the top of the post. You guys have the best suggestions.
Front of the shirt now reads: THANK YOU HILLARY CLINTON, WE’LL TAKE IT FROM HERE
and the back is: 18 MILLION CRACKS WILL FIX THE PARTY

Thanks All for the tips.

#44 scrubs56 on 06.14.08 at 9:04 am

Good morning guy’s, just wanted to say I like the idea of the logo on the front of the shirt and fight the DNC on the back. Also, any chance of adding black, and white to the color choice? Not everyone likes red or blue. Just a suggestion. I would buy a black mug in an instant. Also, I want to thank everyone for all the hard work and dedication. This is a great site. ( Murphy, your the bomb )

#45 SARTOM on 06.14.08 at 9:14 am

I love the newly identified logos for the shirts and cups…when will they be available to buy?

Thanks.

#46 murphy on 06.14.08 at 9:17 am

They’re available now sartmom! order yours today!

they’re in patriotic colors and will be shipped in time to wear on the 4th of July.

#47 mpdamon on 06.14.08 at 12:39 pm

Kudos for the mugs & T-shirts. I would like more info on the T’s though; sizes given with chest sizes . . . pictures would be great. Re: negative feedback: we must be doing something right because the evil orange is frothing at the mouth . . . sure sign we’re
on the right track. We can’t even mention any reservations about Obama without being called “racist”.
Would that these self-styled demonizers had been so diligent about protesting the overtly sexist comments about Hillary.

#48 jadzia on 06.14.08 at 1:26 pm

I have seen on other sites discussing PUMA and they show just a pink Puma. Is there any chance this might become a bumper sticker?
4 years ago someone vandalized my husband’s truck for having a kerry sticker; this year they would slash my tires if I had a McCain sticker!

#49 bluesgal on 06.14.08 at 4:23 pm

MURPHY

Is their a way you can buy the t-shirts or mugs by sending the money thru the mail?

#50 murphy on 06.14.08 at 5:22 pm

Bluesgal #49 — hope you’re still here. Yes, of course. please email me at murphy@pumapac.org

#52 danton on 06.14.08 at 7:43 pm

Aesthetically, the T shirt is tacky.
I was hoping for an elegant black T shirt with a pink PUma on the front.

#53 danton on 06.14.08 at 7:44 pm

I hate to be blunt, but the logo is tacky too.
I’m sure there are designers in PUMA who could
make something up for you.

#54 mayor0102 on 06.14.08 at 7:45 pm

Danton, Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It’s a start and a great one at that. More are to come, I’m sure.

#55 danton on 06.14.08 at 7:47 pm

Get rid of the yellow circle, and it would look good.
Put the writing underneath, not around.

Sorry, I’m a designer, and bad stuff bugs me.

#56 NYCgirl on 06.14.08 at 11:19 pm

Hi, PUMAs,

I just bought a PUMA Pac t-shirt! I will wear mine with pride, just as I still wear my Hillary button.

Funny, I know some folks who have a homegrown biz printing t-shirts, and I was thinking of having some shirts printed up with Murphy’s great quote: “Thank you Hillary Clinton. We’ll take it from here.” I just LOVE it, Murphy! Every time I read that quote, I think of our battle-worn fearless leader sitting down and catching her breath while her troops put on flak jackets and helmets and gear up to continue the fight. You came through with the shirt with the quote on it, so I bought one. Excellent! Let’s take it from here.

#57 bluesgal on 06.16.08 at 10:55 am

All Women Puma’s

Could you tell me if you bought a womans or mans t-shirt. Are the women’s t-shirts tight fitting or are they just like the men’s sports t-shirts. I have a lot of sports t-shirts (college basketball fan of my state). They sell only one kind where I buy mind which fits both men and women. If you could let me know, I would appreciate it. I am going to buy one but I can’t decide which one to get and what color. I like both colors. Thanks!

#58 pa dem on 06.16.08 at 6:10 pm

bluesgal: I ordered mine the first day and haven’t gotten it yet (it should take 7-14 days), so I can’t really give you advice on women’s/men’s.

On the other hand, I am excited that some PUMAs got together a logo so quickly.

Danton: there will be custom shirts available.

#59 bluesgal on 06.16.08 at 6:19 pm

THANKS PA DEM!! After you get yours come and comment on it here.

#60 RiverAngel on 06.20.08 at 11:50 pm

Why does the text on the website say “18 million CRACKS will change the party” as the text on the t-shirts? Is that really what it says or does the t-shirt read like the photo? I certainly hope it doesn’t say CRACKS!!!!!!

#61 Cat in NJ on 06.23.08 at 1:35 am

RiverAngel #60 …
I think what CRACKS if referring to is a quote from HRC:

“Although we weren’t able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it’s got about 18 million cracks in it.”
- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton June 7, 2008

Perhaps the tagline on the PUMA gear should read “18 million cracks in that glass ceiling WILL change the party!”

#62 Felix on 07.03.08 at 6:36 pm

Really liked your interview June 23rd Murphy. You came across as articulate and quite a leader. Because of my job I can’t take part in lobbying activities – but I will send money for Denver in the mail.

#63 PrP4HillaryNJ on 07.08.08 at 9:10 am

I’m ready to continue the fight! Can’t wait to get this T-shirt! I want to get on that bus for Denver and make my voice heard with the rest of my PUMA Pac sisters and brothers!!

Lost my job due to health/back issues because i have no health insurance from my laboratory job! need help to pay for my seat on the bus~ any one that can not go want to help sponsor me? thank you for your consideration!!!!

#64 NYCgirl on 07.09.08 at 10:20 pm

Hi, Murphy,

I read that you posted an update on the T-shirt estimated arrival date, but I must have missed it. Any word on when we might expect our PUMA Pac tees? Thanks!

Hi,
My T-shirt just arrived and I love it but have one problem.
I ordered a size M and received a L.
How can I rectify this?
The Large is really too large so will need to exchange it or what ever.
There was no packing list or any return address on the package so I have no contact info.
Any help would be appreciated.
