Elaine and I have been working on an improved version of the letter to send to Dr. Dean on Monday. I have received other emails with suggestions and apologize for not having had a chance to incorporate them yet. I will! Here is what we have so far:
Dear Dr. Dean,
With all due respect, I write as a deeply devoted Democrat who can no longer support my own party’s leadership or vote for the party’s presidential nominee. I have written to you out of frustration and anger, and now would like an opportunity to explain the basis of that frustration and anger as briefly as I can.
When you became the chairman of the DNC, you called on the Democratic Party to engage in a 50-state strategy that entailed listening to the concerns of voters in all 50 states, representing the interests of voters in all 50 states, and making a real effort to win votes in all 50 states. Your call for a commitment to that goal was commendable.
And yet that is not what is happening. Since the meteoric rise of Senator Barack Obama in the last sixteen months—quite literally “out of nowhere,” to quote a close friend of his, who recently and very publicly demeaned Senator Hillary Clinton, a hard-working Democratic leader in the Senate, and called her a racist—the people in control of the Obama campaign and many of the Democratic Party’s leaders have rationalized positions that have blocked the realization of that very goaland its underlying principles, for nothing other than what appears to be their own petty interests.
During the nomination process, Senator Obama and his campaign did not support counting all the votes in Michigan and Florida, did not accept a compromise plan that would have allowed new primaries in those states, and completely ignored the voters in states like Kentucky and West Virginia. At the same time, the DNC and other powerful committees of the party leaders did not investigate evidence of fraud or alleged disenfranchisement of entire groups in states that used caucuses to choose their delegates, did not apportion Michigan’s delegates appropriately as called for by the party’s rules (indeed, the RBC took four delegates from one candidate and gave them to another), and did not protest the many instances of media bias against and belittling of Senator Hillary Clinton until after the part of the nomination process involving primaries and caucuses had been completed and after many automatic delegates endorsed Senator Obama based on the result of the primaries and caucuses.
Your call for a 50-states strategy was based on an important principle of the Democratic Party that would enable us to elect Democrats to positions of power at all levels of our government. My concern now stems from what has happened to the principles that form the bases of our processes for speaking to our leaders and, indeed, for choosing them.
In effect, the party’s nominee was selected and advanced by means of a series of inappropriate actions and inactions and so does not reflect the will of the Democratic Party’s constituents. As a result, many deeply devoted Democrats, who, like me, have proudly called ourselves Democrats over the years and who have supported Democratic candidates with our votes and donations, are greatly distressed by a process that has amounted to abandoning our party’s principles of full democratic participation and fair reflection.
I regret to inform you that I will protest the 2008 election and that I will not support our party or its candidates in the future unless its leaders return to our core principles by means of which our party can once again legitimately represent us.
Sincerely,
Puma Democrat

Good afternoon, all,

Dear Clinton Dem,
Yesterday’s revelation that Barack Obama is planning to move a large portion of the DNC operations to his home town of Chicago has set off all kinds of alarms at Clinton Dems.
This is disturbing on so many levels. Chicago is widely known for corrupt “Machine Politics” and stokes our worst fear that “The Chicago Machine” is going national. Four of the last seven Governors of Illinois have been indicted for corruption and an effort is already underway to impeach current Governor Blagojevich for activities uncovered during the trial of Obama’s long-time fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko.
The Rezko trial has uncovered a complex network of cronies, and patronage — and a shockingly large number of them have had relationships on some level with Barack Obama. Do we want the appearance, real or imagined, that these corrosive elements will be influencing our party at the most fundamental levels?
A good number of us already suspect that this has been taking place. Please contact Howard Dean and especially all representatives on the Delegate List in your state and tell them that you strongly oppose this move. Express your concern about the direction of the Democratic party.

Like any experienced Chicago politician, Obama would go the cemetary to register voters. One night he came across a grave so old and worn that he couldn’t make out the name on the tombstone. Letters to Dean are fabulous. However, they seem to be falling on deaf ears. I am sure they are being cleansed.
Perhaps every letter we know of could/should be collected together for posterity, maybe in several locations. These things need to stay on record somewhere.
I wrote this letter to Howard Dean regarding the Chicago move for the DNC:
Dear Dr. Dean,
I have been reading that the DNC plans to move to Chicago, Senator Obama’s
hometown. I am very confused and concerned about this proposed move. I did
not think that the DNC was beholden to one candidate or should be run by a
candidate. Isn’t that a conflict of interest for the DNC? On the surface this
moves seems like the formation of an inappropriate relationship between a
presidential nominee and the party. Furthermore, it appears to be an abuse of
power by Senator Obama by taking over operations for the DNC. I would really
appreciate accurate information in the event that what I have read is inaccurate. If this is accurate information, I strongly protest this type of action. I believe it is not only not in the best interest of the party, but it
is very dangerous to have one person as both candidate and party leader.
Thank you.

A Clinton backer turns to McCain
Posted: 02:30 PM ET
From CNN’s Emily Sherman, CNN’s Victoria Riess
Sen. Hillary Clinton suspended her presidential campaign last week.
(CNN) – After eight years of a Bush White House, Will Bower was looking for a Democrat to move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in January 2009. But not just any Democrat. Bower wanted Hillary Clinton to win the Democratic nomination and move back into the home she left in January 1993.
After a bitter primary battle Clinton conceded the race to Barack Obama last week urging her supporters to back her rival. Bower heard the message, but he is not going to follow it. Instead, he said in an interview he plans to vote for Republican John McCain and has formed “Party Unity My A–,” otherwise known as PUMA to express his frustration at the Democratic Party.

I’m reprinting here the 2nd article from the link provided by Fedupdem2008′s post on the previous thread. Does anyone here know how the Creditionals Committee process works and will it be easy for the BO people to control it at the convention?
“Compromise Efforts Will Fail; Expect Credentials Committee to Decide in August
Michigan, Florida, 2008 Election, Democrats, Politics
Politico describes democrat party efforts at negotiating a compromise between the Clinton and the Obama camps on the issue of the seating of delegations from Michigan and Florida.
Those people who believe all problems have solutions may be unfamiliar with the inner workings of the Democratic Party.
On Saturday, the party’s Rules and Bylaws Committee will try to solve a big problem, in order to avoid a huge problem in order to prevent a train wreck.
The big problem is what to do about Michigan and Florida, two states stripped last year of their delegates to the Democratic National Convention because both broke party rules and moved their primaries up too early in the election year.
The rules committee will try to work out a compromise Saturday to try to seat those states in some form or fashion. It will be difficult, and the 30 members of the committee, who come from all over the nation, have been warned to keep their hotel rooms Saturday night, because the meeting may go into Sunday.
The huge problem is what happens if one side or another does not like the rules committee’s compromise. In that case, the controversy would go to the 186-member Credentials Committee, which will convene in July or August.
And if that happens, the party will be presented with a possible train wreck: Whatever the Credentials Committee decides will have to be voted on by the Convention in late August as its first order of business. And this could create what the media might love but the party dreads: a floor fight in Denver.
Read the whole thing.
This is probably the battle which will decide the nomination. Whoever controls the credentials committee will have the key to securing the nomination.
By JDZ”

DLC | Press Release | March 10, 2008
DLC Announces Chicago Site of 2008 National Conversation
————————————————————————
/*Note:* Anyone wishing to attend the DLC’s 2008 National Conversation
should contact the DLC at (202) 546-0007./
————————————————————————
*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
WASHINGTON — At a press conference today the Democratic Leadership
Council (DLC) announced that Chicago, Ill. will be the site of its 12th
annual National Conversation to be held June 28-30, 2008.
DLC Founder and CEO Al From was joined at today’s press conference by
Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, who will serve as honorary chair of the
event, as well as U.S. Rep. and House Democratic Caucus Chair Rahm
Emanuel (D-Ill.-5).
With the leadership of Mayor Daley and DLC Chair Harold Ford, Jr., this
year’s National Conversation will be a forum to discuss and debate the
best ideas for tackling America’s greatest challenges.
From noted the unique opportunity that Democrats have this year to lead
the nation with new ideas. “2008 presents Democrats with an incredible
opportunity: the chance to build an enduring political and governing
majority with control of both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue and a majority
of statehouses and mayoralties across the country,” said From. “To take
full advantage of that opportunity, we will need to offer bold and
innovative ideas for tackling the big challenges facing our nation and
to govern effectively once in office. That will be the focus of this
year’s National Conversation in Chicago. Elected Democrats from all
levels of government will compare notes about ideas that work and how to
put them into action.”
Chicago’s own Mayor Richard Daley spoke about the exchange of ideas
which the Conversation will bring to the city. “For 12 years, the
Democratic Leadership Council has been providing public officials,
national leaders and interested citizens with innovative and
straightforward ideas for moving our nation forward. I’m proud and happy
that the DLC will be bringing its annual conference to our city later
this summer,” Daley said. “I look forward to participating in that
conference and offering some of the ideas and programs we have pursued
that might help other urban areas. I know that other members of our
community — from business, labor and academia — will be eager to
participate, as well.”
Rep. Emanuel added, “As we continue to work for change in Washington, we
are reminded that good policy makes good politics. The hundreds of
national, state and local leaders who will attend this year’s DLC
National Conversation in Chicago will be sharing the lessons they’ve
learned from their successes in solving some of the greatest challenges
that face our nation.”
Chicago was chosen to host the 2008 DLC National Conversation because of
its unique position on the national political stage. It is the largest
city in the Midwest — a region that may well serve as the battleground
that chooses the next president. Both Democratic presidential candidates
have roots in Chicago: Senator Barack Obama represents Illinois in the
Senate; Senator Hillary Clinton was born and raised in the city’s
suburbs. Today, Chicago faces a microcosm of the challenges which
national leaders will need to tackle in the months and years to come:
keeping Americans safe; ensuring we can compete and win in the global
economy; creating a hybrid economy; promoting families and values;
holding government accountable; and ending poverty for all who work.
The National Conversation is the DLC’s premier annual conference,
bringing together hundreds of elected officials from across the country
to compare notes, exchange ideas and discuss innovative governing
strategies. Last year, the DLC hosted more than 300 elected officials in
Nashville, Tenn., and expects hundreds to join them this summer in the
Windy City.
/The Democratic Leadership Council seeks to promote debate within the
Democratic Party and the public at large about national and
international policy and political issues. For additional information,
web users may access the Democratic Leadership Council online at
http://www.dlc.org , or contact the DLC’s press office at
(202) 546-0007 or at press@dlc.org ./
Senator Hillary Clinton is a member of this Democratic Leadership Committee. This Conference is an opportunity to show Senator Clinton support with her supporters wearing Hillary gear and holding Hillary for President signs in Chicago, on June 28-30, 2008.
I also wonder if this Democratic Leadership Committee would be a group to lobby to for voicing our concerns about the DNC actions during the primary and the DNC moving to Chicago and being run by Obama campaign. I was not really aware of this group of government leaders and Senator Clinton’s leadership role in it.
1. I want to say that I am hoping PUMA will send something special to the family of Russert.
2. I also want all to know that my son (thanks to all that emailed me) is coming out of his depression and revitalized with his email campaign.
3. The radical group out to get (manipulate) new voters for BO have hit my town and surrounding areas. Story in the paper shows dead people, pets, same names with different adresses, etc. filling out registration cards. It’s getting ugly, but thank God we have people here who have caught on to it and they are investigating. Unfortunately it is costing tax payers because money is never appropriated for this type of thing, it is generally done by volunteers with a tiny amount given in budget. I suspect this is being done all over the country.
4. Read somewhere about a “Hillary Republicans” or McCain area where we Republicans can go to voice our opinions about wanting Hillary. It is very important because I’m hoping thru this that both parties realize that their voters want people to work for them again and give up the party BS in order to work together.
5. LOL…thanks for reading!!!

From previous post (morning) you had the stuff about Betty McCollum of MN. Well that is were I am from and she supported early on “The Chosen Golden Child” as did Amy Klobuchar. In the past I have voted for both of them.
I called and emailed their offices when I found out of their support and told them that I would never vote for them again and would be changing parties. I even helped campaign for Amy.
The problem is that Amy usually has someone running against her but Betty did not and will not….I believe she is up again this November. It is also interesting that on Betty website/home page about her she “actually” list reference to the fact of her being the first “woman” to get positions…etc. When I called her office I told her that she should remove that from her site since she does not feel the same way about a “woman” trying to obtain the position of the White House. In Amy’s case she to claims to take pride in being a woman senator representing MN.
SO some of it falls on “deaf” ears…….
If you have anything you would like me to do as far as more emails, calls to her or other MN ppl let me know.
I checked the list I had print a while back and it listed a lady named Jackie Stevensen of MN – DNC , who was listed as Clinton Supporter and voted said NO to voting as District/State. MN was a caucsus (I mean a “JOKE” caucsus) that went for BHO.
We should all probably read up on the DNC’s Charter & Bylaws, and their delegate selection rules.

REGARDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RETIREMENT OF
SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON’S DEBT:
I just got off the phone with Kathryn at HillaryClinton.com (703) 469-2008 and she stated that ALL contributions made to her campaign BETWEEN NOW AND THE CONVENTION will go to Hillary and Hillary only. I suggested they make this VERY CLEAR at their home page because there is a lot of speculation as to where that money is going and how MANY of us do not choose to support BO. She said she’ll be passing the message along, so hopefully we’ll see something there soon.

VOTE!!!!!
Hello y’all…want to share my letter to Senator Bill Nelson, FL
Dear Senator Nelson,
First I want to thank you for your unwavering determination to see that our votes were counted and our delegates seated. I have followed your comments and efforts since this debacle began.
There are so many voters who are extremely concerned about the direction in which our party seems to be heading. We are concerned that the Obama campaign is said to be moving the DNC to Chicago. We are concerned that the Obama Campaign is intent on replacing delegates that support Senator Clinton with delegates that support Senator Obama.
Sir, we are not simply angry people who cannot accept defeat. We have stood by and watched our primary election process literally taken apart, piece by piece to the detriment of Senator Clinton and to the betterment of Senator Obama. We have been insulted, told that our votes are not a concern of the Obama camp. That we will “heal” by August and come together in support of the Democratic Nominee. Our protests are ignored, laughed at. What comes to mind are the comments made by Harold Ickes about how to achieve party unity, and he was much more eloquent than I. However, the committee and many Super Delegates who had promised to base their allegiance on the choice of the people turned their backs on millions of voters. We need to hear from you. We need to know that someone in a position such as yours is still watching our backs, doing everything to ensure the majority is heard, protected, and our voices honored.
This is the United States of America, we are a republic of the people, by the people, for the people. How do we move about the business of restoring respect and admiration of our great country in the rest of the world when the Democratic party seems intent on subverting our laws, rules, the very values this country was created on? The rest of the world is watching!
I look forward to hearing from you, Senator.
And yes, I am a PUMA (People United Means Action) Democrat.
Obama wants a town hall on 7-4-08 because he heard of the Project Green for MCcain
Which will probably set tp give Senators MCcain and Hillary $5.44 to help retire her debt and MCcain just to get the DNC’s attention.
What’s going on with Chicago? Everything’s now moving to Chicago? Something really smelly about all that.

/The Democratic Leadership Council seeks to promote debate within the Democratic Party and the public at large about national and international policy and political issues. For additional information, web users may access the Democratic Leadership Council online at
http://www.dlc.org , or contact the DLC’s press office at (202) 546-0007 or at press@dlc.org ./
Senator Hillary Clinton is a member of this Democratic Leadership Committee. This Conference is an opportunity to show Senator Clinton support with her supporters wearing Hillary gear and holding Hillary for President signs in Chicago, on June 28-30, 2008.
I think we should write emails expressing on concerns. Regardless of Hillary’s involvement, our concerns with the DNC are the same. As always, we keep it respectful.
Feedback please…

RE THE LETTER FOR DEAN ON MONDAY
Please see the letter to Dean that Elaine and I have drafted (#19). The final version is near, but some things in the version above will be removed, as mpk and Elaine are right to say that sections like the one that references Father Pfleger’s comments about Obama “coming out of nowhere” and calling Hillary racist detract from the overall point we want to make. I assure you, it will be removed.
Please send an email to me at brianknoxvilletnpuma@gmail.com if you intend to email this letter to Dean on Monday between 8am and 5pm. Please write only in the subject “YES I WILL” and I’ll count you in!
(I will have another improved and better version up tonight or tomorrow once I hear again from Elaine)
The progressive we have made in a week is amazing … letters, emails, logos.
Great job everyone. Thank you Murphy.
Sent my Koolaid package with “No Obama, Not Now, Not Ever” to the DNC headquarters today.

DeepSouth #65 I’m looking for your comment. will post it here if/when I find it.
YES, we did receive your contribution. Thank you VERY much — you will receive a confirmation and thank you by email tonight.
Deep South & Murphy
The link to the article about *61 operatives registering dead people, pets, etc. would be so helpful. If this is true, it fits the profile of other activities that allegedly took place in the caucuses. Somehow the MSM needs to start investigating these stories on primetime.
I love it……….bumper stickers, T shirts and hats with
” for the first time in my adult life” We all need a good laught once in awhile.
DeepSouth,
I want to see that article too.
It just goes to show be careful what comes out of your mouth cause it can haunt you for a long time !!!
To Murphy and all PUMA Pac members,
First I would like to thank Murphy for all of her hard work. She has really put in the hours to make this happen in such a short period of time. I have missed a few days here as I have been working on a place that all the “serious” workers can come to organize letters, email campaigns, brain storm and work cohesively to make all the objectives happen. Also, I have received so many emails from BO people who have gotten our email addresses from here. I think there maybe quite a few groups that come here to see what we are doing and using our long hours of research to benefit their crusade.
This site is totally secure, no one from the outside can get in. It is up and ready to go. I would like Murphy or some of the other hard workers to take a look and if you feel comfortable with the site, then you can invite others who are really sincere in meeting our objectives.
This by no means takes away from PUMA Pac, it is just an extention and a common place for all of us to meet outside of the public eye and exchange form letters etc.

Thanks Murphy for acknowledging the contribution. It hasn’t hit my account yet so I wasn’t sure.
Thanks again for looking for that article on the cheating Obamanites and their big movement to get “new” voters.
That is very important and if you can find my link that I posted that would be great because I think they are probably doing this all over the country. I would like to send this info to all the unsuspecting cities/towns in the nation.
SunnyPA,
I don’t know. Do you think Senator Clinton will be there??
I think she is getting enough flack. May be we should wear PUMA stuff and protest the DNC moving to Chicago.
AOL poll, McCain 60%
NObama 40%
Keep voting pumas !!! let DNC shake !!!
I believe it’s a long-time DNC policy that the presidential nominee automatically becomes the head of the DNC… If there are any long-time party people around, maybe they can confirm this. They don’t usually move the operation to be sure, but they do take charge of the operation. I was very involved in the party back in the 1980s, and it seems to me that there are probably a lot of long-standing party rules that we just can’t expect to change – that being one of them. Also, I know you don’t know me because I usually just read, sympathize, laugh or cry along. But I rarely post because others of you are more articulate and someone always says exactly what I was thinking — only they say it much better than I would have! That being said, I hope I don’t get attacked for saying this. Over the past week or so, I’ve noticed that the tone was beginning to change – from expressing our indignation, to downright nastiness (I’m guessing, courtesy of trolls?). I am so glad to see that the nastiness has decreased today, I was starting to panic! I am all about civility and calm – because I know that is what Hillary expects of us. I know she must know about this blog and I want her to feel pride at the way we are working on her behalf. It would kill me if I thought for one moment that she was embarrassed or upset over something we’ve said or done. I was devastated back in the late 80s when Bill was running for President and the media was so terrible to Hillary. I couldn’t stomach the coverage of her – they attacked her for everything and even then, the media coverage was vile and hateful. There were so many “angry white men” in the public (the term the media coined back then) that were intent on degrading Hillary at every opportunity – from the way she dressed, to the way she looked, her cooking, her mothering skills, etc. It sickened me to see the spouse of a candidate attacked so mercilessly. She was a smart, capable woman and her intelligence seemed threatening to these “angry white men” who represented a whole new demographic in the voting booth (this was the election BEFORE the term “soccer moms” were dubbed a new force to be reckoned with!). Anyway, the reason I mention this is because many of you are probably too young to remember how mean-spirited the attacks on Hillary were. And so it is especially sad for me to see so many of the same type of attacks now being used against Michelle Obama by the MSM and by bloggers. I know this isn’t a fan site for MO, I just pray that we don’t get sucked into some of the ugliness I saw on other sites yesterday, and even some links that were posted on this blog. Don’t attack me! I’m not a troll! I just hope that we can rise above the hatefulness that was the hallmark of the treatment of Hillary – and not do the same thing to another candidate’s wife. PS. I’m Hawaiian and the birth cert looks just like mine… even though I was born before Hawaii was a state! Mine is a copy – not an original. My mother’s cert is handwritten – but she was born in 1936. The Hawaiian Archives burned down at some point, which resulted in the destruction of thousands of original certs. Don’t think his was one of them, but I do think his is legit.

Earlier this morning, a post was made regarding a letter to the DNC. I cannot in full conscience be party to that letter, because as stated elsewhere I am a registered Republican. However, my husband is a Democrate who also supports Hillary. And so, on behalf of him, I would like to add my comments:
Besides the fact that Howard Dean handled FL and MI so poorly, (For example, the “automatic” ruling that penalizes a state for moving its date up before Iowa and New Hampshire should have been a 50% deduction and not the 100% that Dean imposed.
That having been said, after researching and reading some of the above mentioned document/links I now know that:
1) There is nothing in our Constitution that calls for Conventions
2) There is nothing in our Constitution that calls for Primaries
3) The DNC is subject to itself.
Now, supposedly, anyone belonging to that organization is also subject to the same rules imposed by the DNC and Howard Dean. Yet I find it ironic that there is no mention of Primaries anywhere inside of the DNC Rules and Bylaws. There is however, a constant reference to the ‘Delegate Selection Process’. That process consist of all the rules and bylaws of the DNC. And the only reference I can find to what we might call Primaries is referred to in this document as a “Presidential Selection Process.”
I know this post is getting long… and so I ask you to consider making the peoples voices heard, not only during the Presidential Selection Process (campaigns / primaries / caucuses); but that the DNC or Congress needs to amend its laws to include:
Stop giving special treatment to Iowa & New Hampshire
1) The popular vote
2) The will of the people
3) A legislative way to make us legally included
4) Amendment to the Constitution
5) If you want our money, honey, FULL PARTICIPATION
6) The same Primary Process for *all* 50 states
7) Eliminate caucuses
9) Rotation System for Primaries
10) No more 24 state SuperTuesday
11) Move the last date up (ie. before June)
Note: That means to evenly space each state Primary… oh let’s say, 3-5 per week and starting with the beginning of the year.
Not just in the Primaries themselves or in the Caucuses, but we do need some kind of representation in the DNC rule making process as well. And I am not talking getting a ticket just to sit in the bleachers of any open to the public DNC Rules & Bylaws meeting that they tried to hide from us this year. For here I am expressing the need to have a panel that is open to HEARING the voices of the people FIRST before they break for lunch to dilberate. Kind of like a Senate Hearing! So that if need be, this public forum could take place the day or week before any diliberation.
I do hope this makes sense!

Either way, Obama is the best packaged and marketed candidate since George W. Bush.
As a result of political malpratice on the part of the failed undemocratic Democratic Party leadership, Obama now has significant power and, the more we watch him wield it, the more he looks like the very thing that he has always—in his entire 16 months as a national figure—claimed he is not.
Why is that? Mostly, I think that it is precisely because of the way he hastily and illegitimately gained his power…
The façade that enabled Obama to trick people into voting for him during the first half of the nomination process is coming off!

#92 – too funny
Someone should put up pics of him before and after the primary season. I suspect that you couldn’t get the ears in the pic and if you did, he would be the size of a pin head.
The death of Tim Russert has, for me, put a whole new perspective on our issues as Pumas and the November election. I was reading some of the blogs last night about the “KKK” and while those negative comments are sparse, that is not something I want to be a part of. Most of the Pumas on this site obviously have their hearts in the right place and are hurting from Hillary’s loss and her treatment during this Primary. I know I am grieving too. But this election will play out the way it was meant to go. I’m not sure how much impact we will have on that.
I was very critical of Tim Russert, Jack Matthews and NBC for their biased coverage. And yes, I was angry at the way Hillary was treated by Mr. Russert in the debates. They had a long dissertation with David Axelrod, Obama’s Campaign Manager, on CNN today talking about Tim’s fairness and how Mr. Obama enjoyed the interviews with Tim. Mr. Russert’s bias toward Obama was evident for whatever reason. Maybe he just didn’t like the Clintons – who knows??
You know, let’s face it people, — the media have an advantage – they have the last word and it’s their job to report and distort the news if it’s entertaining. But despite my lack of appreciation of Mr. Russert’s treatment of Hillary, my heart is breaking for his family, Big Russ, his wife and son Luke. Tim loved working with inner-city kids and was very dedicated to various charities and his Catholic faith. The world has lost a great soldier whether you liked his politics or not.
So all this to say that I am signing off as a Puma — I appreciate what you are trying to do but in my humble opinion there is only one way to make a difference at this time and that is to actively support a candidate of your choice. I want my vote to count. I will not sit home and I will not write-in Hillary — that just dilutes the votes needed to accomplish our purpose. If for some unexplained reason, she walks away with the nomination at the convention, which I continue to pray for, then BOOOYAH! I am there for her.
And here is another thing – I’ve been vitriolically (is that a word??) bashing Mr. Obama every chance I get on blogs and to my friends and I am now stepping back and re-examing my faith and the principles that I have always lived by. I am now convinced that I have to let the course of this election play out without constantly fueling my anger on these blogs and I have to set my personal goals as to how I will conduct myself in the most sane and effective manner. While I have always been a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter, I have to follow my intuition which leads me away from Mr. Obama and to the McCain camp – it’s the only logical way to make a statement in November. I am going to stop being angry at the media for their bias and sexist reporting and focus positive energy on getting John McCain elected.
Pumas, don’t lose your passion — you are all awesome and I pray that you don’t fall in line and that you accomplish your goals. As for me, I am choosing four years of John McCain because he is an honorable man and he is a close friend of Hillary Clinton. That says a lot. He will not reverse Roe vs. Wade, he will end the war while covering the backs of our troops as they withdraw, he will bring jobs back to the U.S., he will eliminate the energy crisis and he will cross party lines to do so. This is a fair man. So GO HILLARY – 2012!!!! My best wishes and respect to all of you!
so let them get scared !!! LOL LOL

Goanderson, Hillary is going to get flack no matter what.
#83 I haven’t seen anyone here attacking Michelle Obama. My personal opinion is that reporting (I don’t consider it attacks) on her outrageous remarks is fair game. If she doesn’t want this to happen, she shouldn’t be campaigning for her husband and saying stupid things. I don’t like her, but that’s just my opinion.
I went to the CNN site to read the story about Will Bower and read the comments. I was shocked at the vile comments of the Obama supporters! First, I wonder if the super delegates switched to Hillary if they would still be screaming unity and rallying to her side (I doubt it). Second, I just cannot believe the insults they throw out at people who disagree with them. They certainly look like the uneducated and ignorant ones when they leave comments like that on public forums.
Hi you all, Thank you Murphy for the great site we have found here and the great job you are doing in keeping us all cubs here, I’ve been reading at Hillary’s blog for 16 months never left a comment, but I’m too mad now, thank you again

Launch A Woman…………..I know none of us are going to step into that line, and we don’t drink koolaid either. There is so much that has to be changed and we are the ones that are going to do it or have a part in doing so and this will never happen again.
I also want to add that I had a discussion with an Obama supporter at work today. His primary reason for supporting BHO was the Supreme Court. We talked about the fact that a Democratic congress — with backbone — could deny the bench to any radical judges McCain might choose. I’m sure it didn’t change his mind, but at least one talking point was undermined.

Kudos to you for the strength in your beliefs. I too do not like feeling angry and scared all of the time.
I support your decision to vote for McCain wholeheartedly, but why does that mean that you need to disassociate yourself with the PUMA movement? I love calling you a fellow PUMA. Please consider staying unless this movement is what is making you angry. United we stand.
Peace be with you. Good luck and the best heartfelt wishes for whatever you choose to do.

Problem is – ‘he who shall remain nameless’ is NOT the official nominee yet. He is only the ‘presumptive’ nominee. The true nominee is only the nominee after all the delegates vote and the roll is called at the Convention in August. It is my understanding that ‘he who shall remain nameless’ does not even have the requisite number of pledged delegates to be the ‘presumptive’ nominee. He was ‘made’ the presumptive nominee by the super delegates, who also do not actually vote until the Convention. The super delegates (unpledged delegates) can change their minds anytime, the pledged delegates can actually change their minds as well if it goes past the first round at the Convention. This is why they call it a nominating convention and why it is partially paid for by tax payers dollars – and why so many of us are disturbed by the fact that the DNC and Party elites are trying desperately to circumvent the entire process and simply ‘select’ our nominee for us.
So bottom line – it is very arrogant and presumptuous to say the least, for the ‘he who shall remain nameless’ campaign and the DNC/Party elites to just take over and turn over the Party reigns like this to an inexperienced, questionably charactered, flawed judgment candidate like ‘he who shall remain nameless’. Something is definitely fishy in the DNC and has been for quite some time now…

Thanks for joining us, welcome!

I agree they’re scared. They’re really going to all kinds of desperate measures. You don’t have to lie and cheat and steal to win unless you know haven’t got a chance in hell of winning fair and square.
The fake smiles and grim looking expressions on Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi & Co’s faces when I see them on TV talking about “party unity” is pretty revealing.
They’re probably wondering how long they can keep up the charade before all heck breaks loose. I mean, there’s only so much dental floss and crazy glue in the world. How long can this con-job on the people hold?
All those 18 million cracks of Hillary’s are really making a dent, you know. First, in the glass in the glass ceiling! Now in the DNC!

OK…….I was angry before, NOW I HAVE TIPPED THE RICTOR SCALE !!! Moving the DNC to corrupt CHICAGO ?? WHAT THE HAY IS UP WITH THAT ! I am so angry right now, that I could spit nails !! If BHO wins this election, I swear I may move to South America..At least there we know their politics are openly corrupt !
I was in Argentina last year visiting a friend that is from there. I was there a few months, and was able to see the process unfold leading up to the election of thier new President. It was the sitting Presidents wife that was running. And on election night, I watched the President declare his wife the winner with just 20% of the votes counted. Of course people protested, took to the streets, yelled, but ultimatly knew there was nothing they could do. I turned to my friend and said (nothing like that would ever happen in MY country…) Well, we might as well consider us there !!! It’s hard to see what has, and is happening in my country, in OUR country right now…..saddened,angry, and fed up..

#27 Storytellers, I am not surprised to know that Obama supports totalitarian regime. His actions prove it. Also one of his best friends and advisors Frank Marshall Davis, (he referred to him as “Frank” in his book) was a member of CPUSA (Communistic Party of USA) from 1943-1945–I read it on Wikipedia and several other websites. Aparently Obama was friends with him in the 70s when he lived in Hawaii.

#121 – absolutely. Another call to arms.
Hello all PUMAs!
I have not had much time to post this week, but I am so glad we are all coming together!
I have a couple of suggestions for all:
I just received a mailing from the Barry the bad guy campaign asking for a contribution. I checked other amount and filled in a big zero. On the postage paid envelope (yes, have fun on their dime!) I wrote, your form doesn’t even fit the envelope, how can you run a country? Duh! Wrote Dems for McCain ’08 and 1 of 18,000,000 and PUMA on the back of the envelope! On the front next to his name I wrote Loser and where it said Obama for America, I crossed out Obama and wrote bad so it reads Bad for America under his name! It was fun and I feel so much better! We should all do similar, except for the dems for McCain if that’s not your thing. Don’t just throw these or mailings from the DNC away, take time to make a statement and have a smile, all on their dime! Go PUMAs!
Did any of you read the USA article where Obama says he doens’t need the people, just their checkbooks? Ed Rendell was quoting him. The link is http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-06-12-fundraisers_N.htm
Now, if that doesn’t offend some people, what will it take?
Look what I found at AOL! I believe this blogger was in our site a few days ago. Murphy? We need to watch out for infiltrators.

if it is discovered that the Clintons are behind your gathering of Clinton revenge voters to undermine Obama…it will surely cost them everything….for the entire Party will see that it is truly all about them and they are bad not only for the party but the country as well..
i will give them the benefit of the doubt….
please…i need an Obama supporter to join their group and report back…post here if results are conclusive…
This is one of the comments to the story about Mr. Bower not supporting Obama and promoting us-PUMAs. Once again, here’s the link to the story of Mr. Bower promoting us:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/13/a-clinton-backer-turns-to-mccain/#comment-1258600
This is part of the comment in response to this story.
“The DNC did what they thought was right and if you are so much of a Clinton then hey vote for McCain.”
Pay special attention where it says: “The DNC did what they thought was right”–Very true and it’s something that we will change by voting for McCain. I think that we deserve the right to express ourselves, and stand for what our founding father fought–Government by the people and for the people.
What do you think?

LOCCA2525 @@@@@ I hear you.. And you are exactly right. I have spent a lot of time in Argentina over the last year, and I love the country..but mostly the people..But thier govt. is just so corrupt. It saddens me greatly for them. Their voices are never heard. And I am so troubled right now over what is happening right here in America. Spending time in South America has made me realize on a level I always took for granted, that I was very blesssed to have been born here in this country. I was also in Brazile, Chile, and Peru. Having seen that world makes me want to fight even harder right now to keep what others have never known….WE THE PEOPLE _________ Thank you for your reply..
As far as the voter registration fraud that might be going on – can it be confirmed and if so, can’t these people be brought up on charges? Is anyone looking into that? This has to stop.
Yeah…………we all need to focus our energy being constructive. Remember we are looked upon as being uneducated and ignorant. I was not on here for the last 4 days so I am not sure what has been said but I think all of us are too smart to waste our time on being negative. I do believe we should exchange different blogs or articles so we know what we are up against.
I think Murphy is doing a great job and we are headed in the right direction.
CSUZEQ @@@@@@@ LOL !!! I did the same thing when asked to sign up for his campaign on the Hillary site.. For my name I wrote,(CHE GUEVERA) And for my email I put (KISSMYA##@REVWRIGHT.COM. I know, it was bad, but it felt SO GOOD …
#127 csuzeq,
Awesome! LMAO!!!!
TxPuma #131 thanks for the website info…….this is the first I heard about moving the DNC to Chicago
Talk about a conflict of interest !

If you listen to their reasoning they are preblaming Senator Clinton for every negative thing or his loss. That problem belongs to *61.
Let’s not get sidetracked. As Short Termer stated, this is a bigger issue than the two candidates. We want our country back and the trust and honesty.
A great (and objective) article here about media bias.

To the Editor:
I am not enamored of either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, but I watched their recent primary duel with the same fascination as the rest of the country.
Since I didn’t have a dog in the hunt, I believe I observed the media treatment of the two aspirants objectively. My conclusion: the media short-sheeted Hillary at every opportunity. The media bias that I have previously sensed on a more emotional level regarding candidates I care about is indeed a fact.
Though I disagree with Sen. Clinton on political issues, and find her a bit grating in personality, she had a very legitimate case to continue her campaign to the convention.
She could cite quite a few reasons, namely, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and California. When Reagan in 1976 and Kennedy in 1980 carried their fights to the convention ( despite having no serious chance), the media did not insist that they retire from the race. But with Clinton, the media — both the corps of pundits (right and left) and the mainstream reporters — decided that she should pack it in.
Hillary and Bill have not changed — but the new charmer in town has caused the media to rethink their former reverence for the Sun King of the ’90s and his spouse.
The media constantly search for a meta-narrative, and it seems that the Jackie Robinson story has trumped the girl-breaking-the-glass-ceiling story this time around.
Though I am not shedding tears, I wonder whether it is good for the body politic when the media determine the outcome of political contests, rather than reporting it and interpreting it.
Did everyone get that post about the Obamanationites cheating on registaring new voters?? If not please see my links posted above. This is very important because this “Get out The Voters”move is big for them and attacking every city.
They are cheating and listing dead people, pets, living people with different addresses, etc. Please send at least one of these links to your local registrat.
an even better one here on CBS.

All, I drop in a few times each day, even if I don’t post. don’t usually stay long due to not being able to sit for long periods of time..I have never seen anything disparaging about Michelle Obama. Opinions on whether or not she is fair game, but no obscene or cruel comments. Last night there were some testy moments, but not about the Obama camp.
In addition to being here, like most of you, I also cruise around other blogs to see what is being said.
I, for one am proud of this site and of PUMA’s. Most of the posts are an effort to strategize how to accomplish our goals, or sharing whatever news we’ve all encountered that is of importance to our common plight.
We sometimes need to remind each other to calm down and be positive and remember to focus on what we all desire and not on what we don’t want, but we are all intelligent, and thoughtful Americans and we have not gotten down in the “landfill” and used the kind of language we see out there. That is not what is in our hearts or minds…regardless of the level of our frustration. Hope this makes sense.
#114 Thank you Murphy! It was actually your quick on-the-spot assurance yesterday when the tone started to get nasty that endeared me to you and this site. I know that you don’t want to see that hatemongering stuff on this site – it just feeds into the negativity. We want people to take us seriously, not think we’re a bunch of wild-eyed fringe folk. Thank you, thank you for caring.
DeepSouth,
I just tried to email it to the Sec. of State here in CA and it was bounced back.
I will find another way to get it there. geesch.

Hi guys,
I was on the previous thread, didn’t know you guys were up here. Thanks for the heads up Murphy!
I’m new here. I’m from Fort Worth TX. I’m a Hillary supporter who is disgusted with what the DNC and the Obama campaign is doing.
I’m one who doesn’t sit down and shut up when told to do so. And I’m not afraid to jump in here with both feet and get involved. I have a lot of criticism for what has happened in this primary election but I don’t like to just talk about what went wrong I want to put positive action behind my words in order to bring something better into existence.
I’m glad to be involved with the site and with all of you!
Murphy, thanks for flagging the msnbc article this morning on Clinton and sexism [http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/13/1138240.aspx?p=0 ]
I posted on it about us, but it seems all posting was stopped late this morning.
The article came from the New York Times this morning. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/13/us/politics/13women.html
I was interested in these comments about Dean, and wonder if we have any information about how legitimate they are — and if our letters made a difference.
Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic Party, who says he was slow to pick up on charges of sexism because he is not a regular viewer of cable television, is taking up the cause after hearing an outcry from what he described as a cross-section of women, from individual voters to powerful politicians and chief executives.
“The media took a very sexist approach to Senator Clinton’s campaign,” Mr. Dean said in a recent interview.
“It’s pretty appalling,” he said, adding that the issue resonates because Mrs. Clinton “got treated the way a lot of women got treated their whole lives.”
Mr. Dean and others are now calling for a “national discussion” of sexism.
goanderson…excellent!! If you can send it to your local registrar of voters and also same all over your state, everyone else please do the same.
Also…if you can, send it to everyone involved in your state government.
As I said…we are smaller parish here. If it has happened here it is much worse everywhere else. We are small, but vigilant.
I gaurantee that this debacle is happening in your county. Maybe they haven’t looked for it, but if they see the article from here they will see.
Please….please…..send this to your area registrar of voters. Tell them something like “they didn’t get this over on small town Louisiana…but think they can with us”…..it hits their ego. GO FOR IT!!!!
Just want to express my sympathy for the passing of Tim Russert and send my well wishes and prayers to his family.
Once again bloggers Marie found this story it is a MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.larouchepac.com/news/2008/06/12/howard-dean-schemes-shut-down-democratic-convention.html
I happened upon this article in the at the Democratic Leadership Council website. It’s a link to a copy of their Blueprint Magazine (apparently now defunct). It could and should give some of our PUMAs some peace about actually casting a vote for Senator McCain come November, should it become necessary. The article is basically a call for democratic candidates to ‘fashion’ themselves after McCain’s straight-talking, insurgent reformer style, willing to take on the Washington establishment and special interests in their own party. Interesting to say the least.
http://www.ndol.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253227&kaid=127&subid=173
What if every one of us clicks on the ‘Report Abuse’ link to object to vile and objectionable posts? I did this on one and requested that the post be removed. It had hateful name calling in it. Not sure the post will actually be removed, but couldn’t we start raising objections that way. It might end up that only our posts remain on the blogs.
Anyone know how many registered Republicans there are nationwide? I live in a red state and I wouldn’t mind registering new Republicans. Maybe I’ll ask that question on McCain’s web site. I agree with others, that the OB camp wouldn’t be out registering African Americans in Louisiana if they weren’t scared. What fries me is that this new regime called Voting is Power is sponsored by the Traitors for Democracy formerly known as the DNC and now run by none other than NoName and his guerillas.
PUMAS, we need to volunteer to man the voting places in November for our candidate. We need to have cameras and cellphones and camcorders with us to get on tape any regularities – even to video or photograph a form that was not correct. We can leave nothing to chance, so keep this in mind for after August.
Murphy, there are Obamantionals amongst us; they start out logical now [for a change] and then go all well we really shouldn’t, oh, I don’t agree, and I couldn’t.
Maybe I am wrong, but if a person does not agree with something, like writing or emailing, then they should just not participate and let those of us who are working hard continue to work hard without disruption.
UTAHPUMA @@@ No name and his guerillas seem to be running everything right now. What does it say when BHO has to start a web site for rumor control. This guy has so much money behind him from corrupt people like Soros, and his Chicago mafia. It is a well oiled machine that we should all be concerned about. Some days I just don’t know what to do with all of my outrage1!
You are thinking ahead ShortTermer! I love it! Yes, someone has to police the election!
#155 – Agreed. Infiltration should go both ways if this is the case. Know your enemy.
surfing the web and sharing what we find is constructive. I have surfed on the bo site and I could not believe what went on there……….now I read some real trash and hateful comments. I truly believe we are Hillary supporters and we all know that Hillary was treated unfairly and in turn we were treated unfairly. Hillary was/is our best person to run this country. I want to see Hillary in for 08 and if I as one in 18 million can make a small imprint making this possible I am ready to travel. I campagined for Hillary door to door and at the polls, made phone calls and went to meet with other folks in this area. One of the counties that we went door to door was a bo supporting area and we managed to get Hillary’s voice heard and a lot of the folks I chatted with said that if Hillary cared enough to send out volunteers to go door to door then they were voting for Hillary.
I believe we are here for a cause and to create a better Party for the future. We are spreading information and trying to organize.
Don’t Piss Down the Back of My Neck and Try to Tell Me It’s Raining
The late Tim Russert said the policies were what mattered, not rumors and personalities. In an ideal world he would have been right, but unfortunately, this isn’t an ideal world. If I knew what Senator Obama’s policies actually are, if I knew he could be trusted about anything at all, if I knew what policies Senator McCain
would have assuming there was a strongly Democratic Congress while he was in the White House, then I might agree with Russert. I don’t know any of these things, I
know what Hillary’s policies would be, always have been but the other two I’d just be guessing.
Fact: I don’t believe Senator Obama. If he told me it was sunny out I would assume it was raining, or snowing, or foggy, or that it was night, or that there was an eclipse. The man wouldn’t recognize the truth if he fell over it. He lies, obfuscates and bamboozles as a reflex and would probably pass a polygraph test simply because he has forgotten what the truth is, just like he has forgotten that a lady who accepted her daughter marrying an African and an Indonesian in 1960s Hawaii
is a lot of things but no kind of “typical white person” in her age bracket in Kansas, or that his friend Antoine Rezko is a corrupt bag of sh*t!

Why can’t Michelle simply state “I have never used the word ‘Whitey’ to denigrate white people”? After all, this story is being covered around the world. Why the silence?
Think about it: If Michelle did not use an incendiary term, then those in attendance (including war hero Shoshana Johnson) would be very quick to clear her name. Right?

I have an action plan idea. I did email Will Bower about. I’m not sure if that is all I should do about it. He told me to join facebook, which I did, but I find facebook hard to navigate never having used it before. Anyway, I will post the idea here and hopefully it will get to whoever can get the message out to all!
Senator Arlen Spector was considering holding congressional hearings about the actions of the RBC. I think we should send postcards requesting he do just that, much like the postcards sent to Dr. Dean. What do you think? I will try to find the link to the article about Senator Spector’s thoughts on the DNC breaking laws!

Demos launch massive voter drive
Registration requests overwhelm officials Saturday, June 07, 2008By Richard Rainey
Using to its advantage the allure of this year’s captivating presidential contest, one Democratic organization has culled the names of as many as 50,000 people in four major parishes — including Jefferson and Orleans — to be added to Louisiana’s voter rolls.
The group, called Voting Is Power and financed by the national Democratic Party, has been canvassing neighborhoods since February, collecting personal information and signatures from as many new potential voters as possible, said Brian Welsh, a spokesman for Louisiana Victory, the umbrella group coordinating local and national Democratic voter drives. Voting Is Power members also have targeted East Baton Rouge and Caddo parishes.

“[Dean] says he was slow to pick up on charges of sexism because he is not a regular viewer of cable television,”
WTF!! The chairman of the DNC does not regularly watch cable TV?? That in itself is an egregious example of his failure of leadership. OMG.
csuzeq, I had to laugh at that. That’s pretty funny. Hello everyone, just checking in for anything new. I have covered all of my assignments. Pumaindy, were you ever able to get your narrative posted at mccains site?
Murhpy ………….I won’t be able to rest until we have Hillary in the White House. We are the ones that will bring “change”. We can make a difference and must never loose sight of that.
Hello everyone.
Very sad about Tim R.
I see we have T-shirts. I can’t wait to get mine.
hi cats,
check this out. its great

Illinois Voter:
I do not think we should write or call the DLC. I think we should plan a suprise rally supporting Hillary Clinton. Between Illinois and Indiana, We can gather all the volunteers who worked on the campaign. I still have many emails and names. I think that would show Hillary great support, and be non threatening since she may be there, I think it should be more support than protest against the DNC. It will show us in a good light and afterwards we can strike like the cats we are….once we hear what happened at this meeting. What do you think?
Yes….MCR…that is them!!! Luckily we are on to them and see what they are doing. It won’t wash. They are idiots who can’t even cover their trail or do anything coherently.
I’m very afraid that other states/cities/towns won’t catch this before it’s too late. Which is why it is VERY important that this be sent to the necessary offices ASAP….with a note that they are making a joke of our process…that they think our registrar’s are a bunch of feeble idiots that will not catch them.
Dean has a poor excuse for everything……………See you have to be careful what you say because it can come back to haunt you…..LOL
Murphy, please forward #164 to Deep South. He is looking for this reference CC: #65 & #42.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Hey all of you have a nice evening………I have to run to the grocery store and I would like to get back on here tonight if I can squeeze in some time, if not see you over the weekend. By the way the grocery store is a great place to wear your Hillary T-shirts. You would be surprised at how many people stop and say how disappointed they are that Hillary may not be our President in 08.
shiela7 – no. I and I was also not able to send it to Lou Dobbs. However, I WAS able to send it via the ‘Contact Us’ page on McCain’s web site. It won’t be posted, but at least they have the text, for what that’s worth.
Thanks for all the help.

I printed these articles and will send a copy to every county voter registration office in CA.

Might be a good time to give em a flyer or two. :0)
#172 – yes. I think you are right about advertising things that this group will be doing. I believe someone is setting up a secure site for PUMA organizers to meet privately. Not sure what’s going on there, but that’s what I read on one of the earlier posts.
The more advance notice BO supporters have, the better prepared they will be to knock us down.
Murphy,
Comments have been closed for this topic of course. CNN always does that so Clinton supporters wont be able to comment. They did that all through the primary too.
Murphy…will act NOW!!

I’m reposting this as its own thread because it’s essential that as many of us members of the Democratic Underground address this situation immediately.
A pledged delegate for Hillary Clinton has publicly announced that she will be voting for McCain. Any delegate who declares his or her support to the Republican
party deserved to be stripped of delegate status immediately. Contact the Wisconsin Democratic party and make your voice heard. Pass it on if you can, and make sure
you include the link to the article where she makes these intentions known: http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=1&date=6/13/2008&i... (repeated below for emphasis)
Here’s the original thread, posted by babylonsister:

Clinton delegate to vote for McCain
As an avid supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Debra Bartoshevich is not alone in her frustration over Clinton’s defeat.
She’s not alone in refusing to support Barack Obama.
And she’s not entirely alone in saying she’ll vote this fall for Republican John McCain instead.
But what makes her unusual is that she holds these views as an elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer.
“I’m sure people are going to be upset with me. I don’t want to lose my national delegate status,” says Bartoshevich, a 41-year-old emergency room nurse who is a convention delegate, pledged to Clinton, from Waterford in Racine County.
Joe Wineke, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, reacted with disbelief when first told Friday afternoon that one of his state party delegates is now a McCain supporter.
“Not a delegate? To the national convention?” asked Wineke, who was getting ready for the start of the state party convention Friday in Stevens Point.

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST IF YOU HAVE CONTACTED ANYONE IN THE WISCONSIN DEMOCRATIC PARTY
……………………………………..
We need to flood the Wisconsin Democratic Party with emails RIGHT NOW and tell them that it is absolutely not acceptable for one of their pledged delegates to endorse the Republican candidate. A swift message needs to be sent to the party, to the delegates, and to anyone in the media who might pick up this story that the Democratic Party will not allow one of its members to declare support for the opposition.
I’ve compiled all the contact information, both emails and phone numbers. Write your own email so that they know they’re hearing from separate voices.
If you know anyone in Wisconsin, urge them doubly so to do this.
………………………………………………..
Make sure you include the link to the original article stating that Debra Bartoshevich, Pledged WI delegate to the Democratic National Convention, has declared she will vote for McCain:
http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=1&date=6/13/2008&i...
Also add this, from the Wisconsin Delegate Selection Plan:
In electing and certifying delegates and alternates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention,
Wisconsin thereby undertakes to assure all Democratic voters in the state full, timely and equal
opportunity to participate in the delegate selection process and in all Party affairs and to
implement affirmative action programs toward that end, and that the delegates and alternates
to the Convention shall be selected in accordance with the Delegate Selection Rules for the
2008 Democratic National Convention, and that the voters in the state will have the opportunity
to cast their election ballots for the Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees selected by said
Convention, and for electors pledged formally and in good conscience to the election of these
Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees, under the label and designation of the Democratic
Party of the United States, and that the delegates certified will not publicly support or campaign
for any candidate for President or Vice President other than the nominees for the Democratic
National Convention. (Call, II.B.)
and this:
Party Leaders & Elected Officials (PLEO) Delegates: Delegates Democrats eligible for PLEO delegates are big city mayors, statewide elected officials, state legislative leaders, state legislators, and other state, county and local elected officials and party leaders. Candidates for these positions must file a written statement of candidacy and a signed pledge of support for their presidential candidate. These delegates are allocated to presidential candidates based on the statewide results of the presidential primary or caucus.

You guys are great. I am so glad that I am here. I have a couple of questions for you:
1. How do we let Hillary know about Tim Russert’s death so that she could give a statement about it? Both John, and “I hate him” already issued statements to Tim’s family.
2. Hillary will call us, all of her supporters.
Here are the details from an email which I received:
Please join Hillary Clinton for a call this Monday, June 16th at 4:00 pm EDT. She would like to thank you for your dedication and commitment to this ongoing historic effort. Call-in details are below. Please RSVP to Stefanie Freeman Conahan at 202-588-1990 or sfreeman@nancyjacobson.com if you plan to join the call.
Date: Monday, June 16th
Time: 4:00 pm EDT
Number: 877-856-1964
Code: 9634426
Hope that you’ll be there. Please repost it to other websites to have as many of us as possible. Thank you.

csuzeq, please find the Arlen Spector link. I think it’s a fantastic idea to encourage Mr. Spector to have congressional hearings held on the DNC breaking the laws. This will get National attention which is what we need. As for Dean not watching cable news and not seeing the blatant SEXISM that was aimed at Hillary Clinton is a BIG FAT LIE. He appeared on many cable shows and so did his buddies, Brazille and Pelosi. He knew very well what was going on!
This just in from risehillaryrise concerning the millionwomenmarch
“Also, our State Organizer in Wisconsin has scheduled a meeting for Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00p.m. Meeting information and RSVP is here:http://hrclinton.meetup.com/120/calendar/8123139/
If you could also let your members know about it as well, we’d be eternally grateful!
We are at present trying to organize state by state, with organizers scheduling meetings in states nationwide. As specific state meeting information comes in to us, we will post it on our site along with the State meeting link, and I will forward the information to you for dissemination to your group as well if you are comfortable with that.”
Hillary….we know you are looking at these threads and all your sites. Don’t worry we won’t let you down. You have won over this Republican and my entire family of Republicans
I have to tell you all…when Hillary first came out for the running I thought she was a liar and full of shit….just trying to win over people thru political pandering. Then as I watched her I saw something different. I saw a real human being showing her cards as to who she really was. It was something I don’t think she could ever show before.
I consider myself a good judge of character. It is how I base my business relationships. She won me over. I saw a person (not woman or democrat) who was really going to make a change in this country. I saw a person who I never saw before in all the time her husband was president. I saw the real Hillary Clinton.
Why am I typing this now??? I don’t know. I just can’t believe that my first “change over” vote won’t happen. I’m not giving up hope, but want all you democrats and new independents to know that all of my Republican family will vote for her and fight for her.
THANK YOU, PUMA! It’s great that we all came under this umbrella. I am so disgusted that we turned our back on the strongest candidate in favor of the most inexperienced one. I cannot and will not fall in behind Obama just because Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid tell me to. Know that you have a loyal PUMA here in New Orleans!
anonymous-Hillary and Bill have issued a statement

“[Dean] says he was slow to pick up on charges of sexism because he is not a regular viewer of cable television,”
WTF!! The chairman of the DNC does not regularly watch cable TV?? That in itself is an egregious example of his failure of leadership. OMG.”
I find that hard to beleive since he was appearing on the cable shows numerous times.
Welcome pumapride! It’s great to have a puma in NO!
hi again, someone was looking for a Dems for McCain bumper sticker. Here is the link
http://www.dems4mccain.info/democrats-for-mccain-bumper-sticker
I love wearing my Hillary t-shirts out in public and I still have my Hillary yard sign out. I can’t bring myself to take it down. I get a lot of comments from people just from my Hillary bumper sticker.
Last Saturday after Hillary made her speech I can’t tell you how many Hillary supporters came up to me throughout the day as I was getting in and out of my car and asked what I was going to do since she was suspending her campaign. They didn’t want to vote for McCain but weren’t sure about Obama. A lot of them really seemed lost. I told them they didn’t have to decide right then. That I was disappointed too. I still don’t know exactly what I’m going to do but I do know that it will not involve voting for Obama.
I just read and re-read #100 Launch A Woman’s posting above I have to say, for all the wonderful ideas and energy here in this group and the many others, I think all of us have to seriously contemplate what we plan on doing should the DNC go along with their plan to crown Obama with the nomination, whether he’s earned it or not. I can’t help but feel no matter how loud our voices, etc., we aren’t going to get them to back down easily. They’ve been planning this for so long. They’ve already thrown all their principles and ethics out the window. I think they’re beyond being shamed. They’ve already made their deal with the devil.
The more I find out about what they’ve done and what they are doing, the more I know I cannot support the D. party anymore. No way. No how. I look at Ted Kennedy’s betrayal, Kerry’s blatant ageist remarks about John McCain yesterday, (“he’s confused, he’s getting the facts all mixed up, etc., can’t remember if it’s Shia or Sunni,” etc.,) trying to imply he’s senile and has dementia and I start to burn up…..And Kerry was once one of the good guys. Patrick Leahy supporting Obama….I always thought Leahy was a voice of reason and stabilty in the Senate. I don’t understand how he could have gone along with this travesty….Harry Reid, etc. I have no respect for any of them anymore and I don’t trust them. They WERE the giants of the Democratic Party to me and now they’re all gone.
As #100 says she doesn’t want to waste her vote by not voting and she doesn’t want Obama to become the next President of the United States. Writing in Hillary’s name might send a message, but it won’t win an election, except maybe for Barack Obama. So what’s left?
I can see Hillary as President, but I’m beginning to think that the only way that can work is if there’s a third party, a party made up of people who splinter off from both the Democrats and the Republicans and make up a third party. She could be a candidate in a situation like that, where if elected she could actually get things done. She’d have support and backing. But, that isn’t likely to happen in just 5 months.
There are many moderate Republican voters and lawmakers who are disgusted with the doings of their own party in the last few election cycles, just as the same goes for the Democrats, losing election after election, making promises, i.e Pelosi’s promises about what was going to happen when the Dems got control of congress, etc. Well, I don’t know about you, but two years later, I’m still waiting for it to happen. I’m still waiting for them to START trying to make it happen….
As #100 says, John McCain is a good man. Four years of him leading the country wouldn’t bother me one bit. I would feel a million times better about it than I would about Barack Obama. McCain is a moderate and he’s a strong leader. I think he’s got a shot at keeping this country on a decent path and an even keel for the next four years, enacting decent legislation, protecting us, restoring our name and our reputation abroad, keeping the extremists from either party at bay.
Four years of Obama scares the living daylights out of me. We’re walking right into a totalitarian, fascist state. Slowly, gradually and insidiously….
Maybe in the next four years, with John McCain as president, the good people in the two parties who really believe what’s best for America is what really matters can get together and with the help and support of the people, people like us, people who care and love their country, form a new party, a party that truly represents what we need in the 21st Century.
But until then….
I’m torn between wanting to work on all the issues above regarding the Democratic Party and wanting to make sure John McCain IS elected. I’m losing confidence by the minute that the Democratic Party is salvagable. With the media in Obama’s back pocket, I feel we’re headed for that totalitarian government.
Which is why I’m beginning to feel that it’s imperative that we continue to call the media on their bias, flood our members of congress and party officials, etc., with emails and all else we’re planning,
But, I really think we’re got to come to terms with what we’re going to do if the DNC gets it mission accomplished at the convention.
And we’re going to have to seriously address how we want to fight the lies and deceptions they’re trying to float out there about John McCain.
If we’re so busy fighting the DNC, that gives them all the more time to court all those young voters, – young women worried about losing Roe v Wade, young men, worried about 100 years in Iraq and maybe a return of a draft one day.
So, while I never in a million years would have believed I could do such a thing, or that I’d ever have to, I’m crossing over. And it’s real easy emotionally. It feels right. I believe it’s urgent that people get active in finding out the truth about McCain’s positions on Roe v Wade, Iraq, and all the other important issues they care about and get the word OUT, the true, honest word, not the DNC’s distortions!
And then let the people decide. But they have to know the truth!
This is America and this is a democracy and if the majority of people fall for this tragic farce being thrown on us by the DNC and all its little henchmen, then we’ll have no one to blame but ourselves.
This is a multi-pronged battle we’ve got ahead of us and I don’t want us to get so focused on the trees we fail to see the forest.
After reading the blogs today, including this one, they are convincing me that the principles of Black Liberation Theology which filtrated the Chicago mentality, is also the crux of the DNC……
Obama always seemed just the figure head, a man with high charisma and preaching oral skills (Obama’s cult) to a larger group (Chicago mob). So why would the DNC (Dean, Kerry, Kennedy) not want to affix themselves to this system.
It is horrible. Horrifying. And, leaves the majority of white america helpless.
There has to be action. There has to be a Leader to that action. I had hoped Hillary would be that person. I don’t think McCain has that organizational ability (or am I wrong?).
The Democratic party has fallen…….

DeepSouth,
Wow, that is a great story and truly a moving testament to Hillary. She is for real! She is the most outstanding candidate we have had in a long time. It is a true American tragedy that she was forced out of the race. She has been an inspiration to many of us and will continue to inspire us with her commitment, dedication, command of the issues, courage and compassion. Hats off to you and your family!
#195, you wrote what I was thinking….as #196 was not a response to you.
Why I was so disappointed when Hillary uttered those words of support for Nobama last week. UNLESS, she did and has another agenda, yet to be revealed….
MPK #190 Thank you for responding to me. I hope CNN and other people will post it too because they are making Hillary look like she doesn’t care. I can’t stand CNN. I hope to see you and others on the call with Hillary on Monday.

Oh, before I forget. I just saw this article on Fox. I hope that it will destroy Obama. It’s an article about one of the important Democrats from Tenneessee saying that Obama is “connected to terrorists”. YYAAAHHHOOO! I am glad that at least somebody noticed it. Here’s the link.

Ok, here’s a run down of my likely strategy for this political year. I know some will disagree, but it works for me personally.
From an earlier post, here’s another reason why I could be comfortable with voting for John McCain over ‘he who shall not be named’. Even the Democratic Leadership Council admires McCain’s “maverick” tendancies, so much so that they would like Democratic candidates to fashion themselves after him. Read about it here:
http://www.ndol.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253227&kaid=127&subid=173
I could deal with a four year McCain Presidency and at the same time work to get veto proof control of the Congress by the Dems during his four years. Since a 2/3 vote is required to override, a veto-proof majority is 290 in the House and 67 in the Senate. That’s a tall order, but far from out of the question. At least nine, and possibly eleven, Republican Senate seats are potentially in play for Democrats this year, including seats in Alaska, New Hampshire, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Mississippi, Minnesota, Virginia, and Kentucky. Five Republican senators will be retiring including: Wayne Allard (CO), John Warner (VA), Chuck Hagel (NE), Larry Craig (ID), and Pete Domenici (NM). So when all is said and done end of 2008, the Dems could hold 57 Senate seats (plus Lieberman’s Indpendant vote) to the Republicans 40 seats. In addition, a total of 26 incumbent Republican members of Congress have announced their intention not to seek reelection this year. The Dems have already picked up seats in Illinois, Louisiana, and Mississippi so far in special elections this year. Democrats now control the House 236-199.
So after achieving a veto proof or more than likely near veto proof congress, I want this to be our President in four year (2012):
http://www.ndol.org/ndol_ci.cfm?kaid=106&subid=122&contentid=254078
Works for me. I think I may have a strategy for this up coming election season!

Please encourage Hillary to leave the present DNC……
and not to support NOBAMA……
Please, MPK, more about the statement from Bill and HIllary
Re # 178 Murphy, CNN shut us out, again. I’ve been reading on several blogs that we’re jeopardizing Hillary Clinton’s political future, in all avenues and options, by working against Nobama. Can this be true?! I am not a traitor or wavering in my convictions but am not politically saavy.
MURPHY!
Please romove the conference call number listed at #185 anonymous on 06.13.08 at 8:29 pm. I don’t think that the ‘he who shall remain nameless’ bots should be privy to that information.
#205 heysandy- Are you kidding WE’RE JEOPARDIZING HILLARY CLINTON’S POLITICAL FUTURE————-
Have you not witnessed the past 16 months what was done to Hillary by the DNC, Obama, MSM, and many, many democrats.
Don’t worry so much about us damaging Hillary”s political future. We are helping her.
#205 – not sure – could be more BO propaganda. Perhaps Monday’s meeting will reveal an answer.
# 178 heysandy
NO. You are not jeopardizing Hillary’s political future be doing this! You are protecting our country! Don’t believe anything you hear on CNN! It’s proganda and political manipulation.
Murphy
#206 is right. This meeting should be cancelled and another one set up and made known only to trusted Hillary supporters. This could be a disaster for her otherwise.
The phone number should be changed.
PA4Hill #207, done.
Murphy – sorry – #207
MAY HILLARY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO TEACH THE DNC THE TRUE MEANING OF THAT WORD.
Hi Fellow PUMAs. It has been a long work day for me but just wanted to check in with a few comments. First, I checked out the myspace page. It looks nice. Thanks for the hard work.
Second, Murphy you said somewhere that we are about 1/2 way to our contribution goal for advertising. Could you tell me how much more we need so I can look at how much more I can contribute. Thanks.
Third, Yes some of the comments from BO supporters on the blogs are mean spirited and I’m glad to see that the PUMAs are simply stating the facts and our position and refraining from the name calling. Thanks for everyone’s hard work.
Thanks Murphy! Geesh your quick.

I just got a letter from http://www.Clintondems.com it was a Action alert. This is all good reading and this way we know what each is doing. They are using the logo just say no deal
In Comment #83 headoverhills said: “I do think his is legit.”
If you were born before 1986 your original “Certificate of Live Birth” from the State of Hawaii couldn’t look like this at all because the font it is written in didn’t exist,
secondly it wouldn’t be green or have a Hawaii State Stamp on it. Thirdly, it would contain a large number of pieces of information that this doesn’t, including an
embossed seal and a Registrar’s signature (They should be on the Right Hand side). Fourthly, it would be typed on a Smith Corona Typewriter, or handwritten, not
computer printed. Finally, this isn’t a “Certificate of Live Birth” it is a “Certification of Live Birth”, a Document you use to apply for a Passport or a Driver’s License, doesn’t claim to be anything else. So, clearly, what you have is a “Certification of Live Birth”, not a “Certificate of Live Birth”. Therefore you are guilty of the same terminological inexactitude as the Obama Campaign. Also Bill Clinton wasn’t running for President in the 80s. By the way, I accepted that this was a legitimate
“Certification of Live Birth” until about an hour ago when I discovered two interesting facts:
(A) Even a “Certification” should have an embossed seal and registrar’s signature on the right hand side.
(B) It is possible to purchase a blank for the Hawaiian “Certification” online, and according to a Police Officer, most of the illegals in L.A. have better forgeries than
this appears to be. (I’m not saying it’s a forgery, but he was suggesting it was. I think it’s what it appears to be.)
By the way, I was not only born before Hawaii was a State, I wasn’t born yesterday. I do find it interesting, if what you say is true, that some of the original Hawaiian
Records were destroyed. This could argue that the Senator has no proof whatsoever that he is a US Citizen.

i tried to post there and at two other articles dealing with Clinton supporters and how McCain might pursue them. none of my comments were posted. the comments at all 3 seem to have been shut down after one or two pages of comments (i.e., by about 10 or 11 AM EST, which is very early for those of us on the west coast).
i remember one comment was at CNN and the other at MSNBC. does anyone know what their comment policy is? i don’t usually read either bc they’re CNN and MSNBC.

Good evening PUMAs!! How is everyone tonight? I ordered my T-shirt. I can’t wait to get it. The blogs are full of Obama fans tonight. I am glad I can come in here to get away from it for a bit.
I saw the myspace page it looks great. again thank you for doing it.
For the people that order a T-shirt, take a picture of you wearing your shirt and add to our myspace page.
Seems I am in eternal “under moderation” status at CNN.com comments. So much for freedom of speech in this country. >:(

Wow Puma’s!
This is coming together rapidly! I’ve noticed on my main social network, many people really don’t know why they are for Obama (because they don’t understand how they’ve been manipulated).
I’ve been all alone over at the Women In Networking group on Ryze. The network moderator has been supportive although she disagrees, but I’ve taken some hits from a few zealots. Come on over and help me out if you are so inclined!
There are many people who are afraid to post and make a stand in public, but they WILL vote. I think posting clear, respectful, and factual information in the forums for the next three months can have an incredible viral impact.
Also there is an aspect to this con of the American people that isn’t talked about much. That’s the trend toward Mascot Candidates. Candidates that come out of nowhere, with little or no record, and a charasmatic presentation and who represent a hidden agenda.
Obama is the wrapping paper and we don’t know what’s inside the box. It’s like a giant white elephant sale. My instincts tell me this is a red flag for democracy in the long run. Another more long term argument for protesting this election.
Alright, my good friends, get ready to give me a hand to the back. I posted on this blog, and I got an email asking me to respond. I think it is the author, but did not take time to read it yet……..

We are getting attention, and that is what we need to spread our message and make our goals happen.

RE LETTER TO DEAN
Please consider joining other PUMAs in sending a letter to Howard Dean on Monday between 8 am and 5 pm eastern. Ideally, each person should put their own name (city, state), and send the letter by both fax and email. If you can only email it, that’s fine.
The idea is for Dean to receive the identical statement from dozens or even hundreds of people in different states all on the same day. If he sees them coming from different area codes and emails from all over the country, he will know that we are organized and standing firmly together to defend the principles of the Democratic Party.
I will post the final version shortly for your consideration. A less elegant version can be found in #19 above. Please thank Elaine for her work on this letter, and also mpk for great suggestions!
Ok, I need everyone interested in joining the mailing effort on Monday to email me at brianknoxvilletn@gmail.com, put “YES I WILL” in the subject, and write your home town and state in the message.
In addition to our individual mailings of this same letter to Dean on Monday, I will send it to several news organizations (Greta Van Sustern, Bill O’Reilly, Dan Abrams, Lou Dobbs, AC 360 and Juan Williams) and to key Hillary supporters (including James Carville, Lanny Davis and Harold Ickes). I need to know your home town and state so that I can say how many people sent this letter in their own names and from how many states they were sent.
Ok, the letter will be posted shortly.
If we speak in one voice, we will be heard.

Hey, loca2525, I thought of a song and on a you tube video that would be great. It’s from 1993 by a group called non 4 blondes. “What’s up” pick the one where she is singing by her self with her band not with letterman. Sometimes you have to listen to it a few times.. to really her the message…it’s is really good… And, Murphy you might want to post it here. I would but, I am not that great on a computer..Thanks
SooooooooooooooSorry, Correction…..4 non blondes..my fingers were doing the typing…ha, ha,
I read about Debra Bartoshevich, who is a WI delegate to the National Convention. She said she will vote for Senator Clinton at the convention, but in November she will vote for McCain. She is getting a lot of grief for speaking up. I googled her hoping to get an email address to send her a simple support message and thank you. I found that The Huffington Post has a post that gives her exact home address and a street map of her address. It also says she gave $536 to the HRC campaign. They gave her address!!!! Is this ok? I think this is scary.
hi re Hillary and Bill comment-I can’t remember where I saw it now-I’ll have to dig back and see where it was

Marc – Listen young man, you’re obviously smart and not-too-bad a wordsmith. But you’re in way over your head. First, you admit that your knowledge of politics spans all of two adminstrations. And, second, you like to focus on a wide range of particulars in producing your half-assed analyses, but not so much on their underlying principles. Go there now please and read his response; there were some things there I did not think of – like they have only known 2 presidents and that they were not old enough in the 90′s to know what they were like. If we can change a few minds, great. But if we can get them talking about what we are saying that may be equal.

Hi, Marc,
I was new to your blog. I happened to find it while doing something else. I skimmed over your response and would definitely like to respond. I am thrilled that this is a youth blog, and maybe there can be some very good exchanges. I will respond to a couple of things that I noted you said about me. The first that I may be a feminist. Nope, not a feminist as far as the group may be concerned; just somebody who loves their country more than a candidate or party and someone who is very very afraid of where our country is headed upon the election in November.
And having skimmed the most of your article, it would seem that the youth and the elders are seeing and understanding things in direct opposition to each other. That would make a wonderful discussion topic alone.
Right now, I am in the middle of compiling a list for my group which will take some time to complete. But when I finish that task, I will ready your response and provide my perspective.
Coming to this site by accident may be a good thing for both your youth audience and our group.
Thank you for noticing what I was saying.

I just read his letter to you. It, in and of itself, sounds sexist to me. Sexist and also poorly informed re: the Bill Clinton era. He seems to have a little more information about the Bush period. He claims those were the only two presidencies he was old enough to follow. He must have been quite a baby during Bill’s time in office.
He bought up the so-called race-baiting attached to Bill’s “fairytale” remarks earlier in Hillary’s campaign, (when Bill said the Obama campaign was a fairytale – which it is, but not because an African-American can’t get elected, but because Obama was promising them the moon, the kind of promises you only see in fairytales as possible). I suppose when Bill said “Jesse Jackson” got elected in S.C. too (and then lost just about everywhere else), whoever this guy is you’re replying to got offended. But it was the truth. S.C. was voting for Obama mainly because they were thrilled that an fellow A. American was running and wanted him to win. What’s wrong with that? The same thing happened decades earlier in S.C. with Jesse Jackson.
He says Obama shouldn’t be judged by what people connected to him or his campaign say or do, just by what Obama does, yet he’s holding Hillary accountable for Bill’s words. Again, what’s good for the gander is not good for the goose….
I could go on and on rebutting his remarks to you, but I personally think it’s futile and I’m actually wasting my time.
Whover this guy is he’s made up his mind. He can’t see the hypocrisy/contradiction in his reasoning because his mind is closed. Have you got a jackhammer to pry it open? “Cause that’s what I think you need.
The guy’s really got some serious issues. Read the following paragraph, quoted from him:
“If you and your fellow reactionaries lose this election for the Democrats, understand that this will be more than just a fight between the men and women in this country. Those of us who have never had the benefit of a righteous leader and who are finally feeling the surge of our own political empowerment will disown mothers everywhere who based their decisions not on fact but on emotions. Parents whose same emotional reaction put Bush into office in 2000 and re-elected him in 2004. If this kind of thinking defeats us in 2008, then mothers are not that good of things to have after all.”
(Hmm….”then mothers are not that good of things to have after all.” What to make of that line? “Benefit of a righteous leader? Are we looking for a messiah here or a president?)
It’s not an election between men and women and is he really going to disown his own mother because of it?
Time for that sofa, my friend, this guy needs a good shrink.
Hello Pumas,
What do you think about this story about the MO Tape?
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=377798626&blogID=402174456
BO put up a website to say that MO never made racest comments about HC with Rev Wright. According to the post, MO was ranting about Bill Clinton and it was at a church function, but not the service. That seem in line with the kind of honesty we can expect from BO.
LOL #254 Brian. A little harsh but to the point.
#218 – I’ll admit that I didn’t look at the scanned copy as closely as you did, I didn’t look at the font at all, just saw the general appearance. It matches mine – doesn’t match my mother’s. I think I must be misunderstanding the whole question of his citizenship. There must be stuff out there that I haven’t seen – because I didn’t realize there were actual questions on his citizenship. I hadn’t heard there was anything contrary to he was born in Hawaii in 1961. I’ve heard the muslim stuff, but didn’t know his citizenship was an issue as well (I had heard only the stuff about McCain’s Panama birth). By your post I realize that I’ve missed something – because it sounds as people are suggesting the BC isn’t real? Believe me when I sincerely ask: do people think he was born elsewhere? Honestly, I hadn’t heard that… so my comments were based only on his birth certificate’s appearance. I make no claims that I have an original birth certificate in my hand. So I am sitting here “studying” mine, my children’s and my mother’s. Forgive me if I gave the impression that mine were originals — none are — they are all copies that I’ve obtained at various times in my life because I’ve lost or misplaced mine). Unless the rules have changed, it is fairly easy to obtain a copy to see for yourself. I have been doing my family tree for several years and as part of my geneology research, I’ve obtained copies of birth certs for aunts, uncles, grandparents, a nephew and a friend of my grandmother! I have never had a problem obtaining copies – so long as I have the $10 (or whatever they charge these days). It may be different if you’re still alive (privacy?), but I ordered my mom’s and her great aunt’s without incident (my mom is alive). Anyway, here’s where mine are contradictory to what you describe. The seal on my copies are very pronounced — if you’re touching them, but they don’t show up visually on a xerox copy. Feels like little teeny raised dots, but you can’t see anything at all. It feels a bit like someone took a little pin and pricked the paper! No visually discernible mark, per se. Even more interesting, unlike what you describe where the registrar’s name appears on the right front of yours, NOT so with my mom’s (my kids were born in CA and theirs are like you describe). My mother’s cert is called “certificate of birth” and it is signed and certified on the reverse side of the copy. That last copy I obtained for my mom was dated 11/29/1993 and the seal is not visible at all (but you can feel it). What’s more, the date (11/29/1993) and disclaimer (I certify this is a true copy of the record on file in the Hawaii state Department of Health) and signature of Alvin T. Onoka, State Registrar appear on the REVERSE side of the document! Also, even though my mom’s records were lost in the fire, she still has a birth cert – a replacement? don’t know the details of how they did that. My point is that there really is no reason not to believe it’s a legitimate copy of a birth cert. based on what it looks like, relative to mine. That’s all I have to go on. My mom’s is green – mine looks just like his. I was born in 1959.

#269 ShortTermer,
Thanks for the thank you, but I think I was wrong to write what I wrote. Your purpose–to try to enlighten young voters–is much more noble than what I produced out of a first reaction annoyance at people like Marc who use their intelligence to spout dozens of details to win arguments, even when they don’t know what they’re talking about (having a comment of information that he can rattle off does not make him right!). Anyway, I’m not so sure what I wrote was appropriate. I tried again with this:
Pumas are not disgruntled Hillary supporters.
We’re principled, and we understand the implications for us all when the principles of our party (full democratic participation and fair reflection, for example) that form the bases of our processes for speaking to our leaders and, indeed, for choosing them, are stepped on, spat at, and tossed out with the trash.

I agree with you BrooklynNY. The statement about “mothers are not that good of things to have after all” sort of sent a chill up my spine. Some of these BO youth and the way they seem to be almost brainwashed by the ‘talking points’ and the messianic nature of the Precious one’s candidacy is really quite disturbing and weird.
Maybe we should not give this guy’s blog too much love so that we actually raise it’s hits and it’s relevance across the web.

“The statement about “mothers are not that good of things to have after all” sort of sent a chill up my spine.”
That was creepy… how the hell does he think he arrived on this planet? And he was assuming that all “disgruntled Hillary supporters” are mothers. And, did he imply that if Obama lost it would be the fault of (all) mothers?? The freak has issues.
In #275, I meant to write: “having a command of information that he can rattle off does not make him right!. ” … not comment of information, duh.
BrooklynNY,
Hey, I have too. Sometimes ya just have to. LOL! I like the swat the troll deal.
On Hillary’s blog we would all type “Ka Ching” and donate to Hillary every time a troll appeared and spoke the evil.
#260 – I submitted the following post. It is awaiting moderation.
If BO loses the election it is because of the way he treated American Voters. He obtained his nomination through deceit, manipulation and the exploitation of bigotry. I believe he is a flaming hypocrite and his clean politics campaign is totally bogus.
I decided to become a PUMA (blog.pumapac.org) because I want a decent Democratic Candidate to vote for in the Presidential Election. I cannot vote for Barack Obama.
Much of the initial momentum of his campaign came from black voters. However, when he needed the white male support to discount the Florida and Michigan votes and get the Superdelagates commitment, he turned his back on his minister of 20 years (who helped put him in office). Instead of using that situation to promote respect for diversity and inclusion, he threw Reverend Wright under the bus. That is not a good leader for this country.
His betrayal of Reverend Wright got him the support he needed to promote sexism to undermine a more qualified candidate. Then he gained final margins with a “party unity” pitch.

Excellent comment! Looks like all our comments are awaiting moderation on that site… I wonder why that could be?
The trolls remind me of locusts; they come in masses, invade the site, get swatted, then disappear for a while. A day or two later, they come back, often with different screen names. The same thing happens. We swat them. They go away. They come back. Once in a while you get a particularly robust one that sticks around despite the abuse….

Before we all retire for the night, don’t forget to visit Heidi Li’s blog and help to RETIRE THE DEBT for Senator Clinton through Heidi Li’s direct link to Senator Clinton’s campaign donation page. Heidi Li keeps a running ‘Retire The Debt’ donation total on her page as well so we can easily see what a difference we are making on paying down the debt for Senator Clinton.

Don’t forget to thank Heidi Li for all her efforts on behalf of Senator Clinton, including traveling for the campaign to Oregon to insure the integrity of the primary voting in that state. And be sure to read and comment on her latest blogs.
Keep up the good work PUMAs everywhere!!!
Ah, hello. Do not attack me fellow PUMA. Respectfully, do you really want the entire world to know the number and the code so that the other guy’s campaign can listen in on the call or otherwise disrupt it? It could cause problems, plain and simple.
It has always been our Hillary Family tradition from our days on Hillary’s blogs, to NOT give out that kind of information on public blogs. We have always had Senator Clinton’s back and we will continue to do that. And publishing this private information all over very public blogs is not in keeping with this tradition.
Thank you for keeping this site civil and respectful of all opinions and differing view points.

Nope, no mods there.
HI all this was in the NY Times: The Clintons: Former President Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton released the following statement: “We were stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the passing today of Tim Russert. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Maureen, his son Luke, his father who we all have come to know as Big Russ, his extended family and all of his many friends and colleagues at NBC who have suffered a tremendous loss. Always true to his proud Buffalo roots, Tim had a love of public service and a dedication to journalism that rightfully earned him the respect and admiration of not only his colleagues but also those of us who had the privilege to go toe to toe with him. In seeking answers to tough questions, he helped inform the American people and make our democracy stronger. We join his friends, fans and loved ones in mourning his loss and celebrating his remarkable contribution to our nation.”
Mr. Russert and Mrs. Clinton had several memorable moments together on the public stage. One was during her first Senate campaign, when he moderated the debate between the then-first lady and her Republican opponent, Rick Lazio.
He moderated the presidential debate in October when Mrs. Clinton struggled with her answer about drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens.
And perhaps most dramatically, he had a tense exchange with her during a debate in September, when he read a blind quote from a guest on “Meet the Press” who had approved of torture in extreme circumstances. Mrs. Clinton disagreed with the assertion, and Mr. Russert informed her that the quote was from “William Jefferson Clinton.”
Mr. Russert suggested this showed that she disagreed with her husband. Mrs. Clinton responded: “Well, he’s not standing here right now.”
She drew cheers from the audience, and Mr. Russert pressed her further for some acknowledgment that she disagreed with her husband.
“Well,” Mrs. Clinton said, smiling. “I’ll talk to him later.”

Besides, the only people who seem to believe Hillary wanted to be VP is the press and Lani Davis. I never got the feeling Hillary wanted it. #195 – I agree wholeheartedly with what you’re saying. For me at least, I pray for guidance in November. I took your advice and went to JM’s website to learn his position on Roe V. Wad. I came of age fighting this battle, and while I’m not a single-issue gal, I do struggle and have a hard time recconciling his position with my own. If I were a teensy bit more techno- savvy, I could actually post a link, lol, instead, I just cut and pasted what is written on his website under the policy link under the heading: Human Dignity and the Sanctity of Life
Overturning Roe v. Wade
John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.
Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade
PA4Hill08,
Hey, it’s a survival mechanism and feels good too.
I know Hillary uses it. I can tell by some of the pics I have seen of the family together. They crack each other up! LOL!
We will get through this. Just remember the calm within the storm. That is our greatest strength.
Just got home, sorry, I haven’t done anything for PUMA today!
a thought while I was driving – we should be putting more emphasis on contacting systematically, continually, all the superdelegates except of course NObama’s (maybe them too including D Brazile?)
I think by doing so we stand a better chance of hitting upon some common sense and decency.
I don’t think H Dean will listen to anything we have to say, that may be a waste of time. And the blogs are swamped with paid NObama bloggers, and all the ad ideas are great, but maybe hitting straight at the heart will give us faster and more concrete results.
If NObama, Dean, Brazile and their group and maybe some supers sleep under the same tree, there has to be a number, maybe large number, who are open to fairness and justice.
Especially when they see how committed we are to this just cause, and we’re not just a few upset ladies who “will get over it” and “get in line”.
Also, they see the news, they hear the negatives about him, it wil help when they realize this a major movement among “voters” that is gaining strength.
If this is worth pursuing I can be of service, I live in Florida, someone, just tell me what to do.

P.S. I was on Hillary’s website since February, but my posts never went through. It always made me very angry. You guys did great job of keeping me informed. Thank you.
Hi Guys,
Great enthusiasm for wanting to fight back. I have some concern that they are luring us into fighting them on their terms. If this is the case then we can never win because no matter how hard we try, we will never be able to sink so low. My vote would be to let it go sometime soon – but I am definitely not trying to tell you what you need to do – you make up your own mind and everyone will support whatever decision you make.
Some of these OB supporters don’t deserve the time and effort from the principled people in this organization. That they get angry and indignant when confronted with clear facts that disprove their beliefs is only to be expected. It is a natural human reaction to not ever want to admit that one might have made a miscalculation or a mistake or that one is ever wrong. Doing so takes a principled person who possesses character. That Mark is clearly resisting the idea that he might have made an incorrect choice in becoming a BO supporter speaks to his character (and age most likely). I suspect that many other BO supporters are of this ilk.
The BO zombies scare me most. They cannot be reasoned with. They have fallen under the BO spell, never to return. If we could figure out which ones have not strayed too far down the zombie path, we might be able to reach them. We have to win back as many of them as we can. Once the tentacles of evil have infiltrated, you pretty much need an exorcism to save the victim. Many of them can’t be saved.
Many BO supporters chose to drink the BO Kool-Aid without even knowing why. They might be feeling a bit embarrassed these days. These are the ones we might be able to reach – but figuring out who they are is difficult. The only way we will reach them is with kindness and respect and by presenting our cause with clarity.
I think we are getting thru, I had dinner w/ a kool-aide sipper tonight who tried to use the Supreme Court against me, as to why I should hop on the unity train.
when I said I had broken free of the shackles of the DNC, I am no longer afraid of Roe v. Wade- slence. No more he could say.
If we are not afraid of Roe, we have nothing.
And remember, NARAL and NOW and others have been collecting our money for years. Where has it gotten us?
I am a health care provider, I went to a class back in the 80s to learn how to terminate pregnancies. That was more than 20 years ago, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II.
I am no longer afraid.

I’m so glad to hear you did that. McCain’s position on Roe v Wade is a little more detailed than what you see on his web site. We got into that last night a bit. I’m going to see if I can find the quote I got from a McCainiac on the topic. I try to summarize it but I know I’ll leave something out.

We LOVE having the inside scoop tho!
Awe, CNN misses Hillary. How sweet.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/13/where-has-clinton-gone/
Lot’s of progress made around her today. Great job PUMAS!
I went by Hillary’s and the Hub has been up dated you have to get to it by the tag .there are 3or 4 new articles
To fix above—I meant around HERE today, lol.
MarylandPUMA,
Yes. These times – they aren’t just regular -’ol times! The rules, they are a changin’. BO’s new politics and strategies are nothing like we have ever seen before! We are getting fooled because none of us can imagine the depth of the treachery. We have to watch each other’s backs.
I think that the Monday call should be limited to Hillary supporters – unless it has nothing to do with strategy. Otherwise, assume that anything said there will be public immediately.
#311 anonymous on 06.13.08 at 11:15 pm
It’s all right, anon. I certainly did not mean to disresepct you, but am in the habit of watching Hill’s back, and it’s a hard habit to break.
Perhaps we need to come up with a way to disseminate conference call information like that to supporters off the main blogs. That way, hopefully access to it would be limited to us and not to the bots. Are you in contact with Normita from the Hill Family at all? I know that she has some old Hill Family email contacts (including mine).
#316 Maryland PUMA, THANK YOU!!! I will do that. I’ll add you to my email, and then send you things that way. THANK YOU!!!

RE HOWARD DEAN LETTER FOR MONDAY, 16 JUNE 2008
For details on the plan of action, see #243. Throughout the course of a single day, in emails and faxes, each of us, separately–but all in one voice that speaks the same words–will tell Dean what we think…
Unless there are other suggestions and/or objections (all of which Elaine and I will be happy to hear!), the letter will be as follows:
Dear Dr. Dean,
With all due respect, I write as a deeply devoted Democrat who can no longer support my own party’s leadership or vote for the party’s presidential nominee.
The Obama campaign and many of the Democratic Party’s leaders have rationalized positions that have blocked the realization of that very goal and its underlying principles.
During the nomination process, Senator Obama and his campaign did not support counting all the votes in Michigan and Florida, did not accept a compromise plan that would have allowed new primaries in those states, and completely ignored the voters in states like Kentucky and West Virginia.
At the same time, the DNC and other powerful committees of the party did not investigate evidence of fraud or alleged disenfranchisement of entire groups in states that used caucuses to choose their delegates, did not apportion Michigan’s delegates appropriately as called for by the party’s rules (indeed, the RBC took four delegates from one candidate and gave them to another), and did not protest the many instances of media bias against and belittling of Senator Hillary Clinton until after the part of the nomination process involving primaries and caucuses had been completed and after many automatic delegates endorsed Senator Obama based on the results of those primaries and caucuses.
Your call for a 50-states strategy was based on an important principle of the Democratic Party that would enable us to elect Democrats to positions of power at all levels of our government. My concern now stems from what has happened to the principles that form the bases of our processes for speaking to our leaders and, indeed, for choosing them.
In effect, the party’s nominee was selected and advanced by means of a series of inappropriate actions and inactions.
Sincerely,
Puma Democrat

good night all.
new users, comments may take a bit to appear.
See you in the morning. Be wonderful to each other over night.
Remember, tomorrow is another day!
hi, this was on HRC’s website
6/13/2008
Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Former President William Jefferson Clinton on the Death of Tim Russert
“We were stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the passing today of Tim Russert.
Why Codeindigo – do you care if a pledged delegate for Hillary chooses not to vote for the no named one -
Huh??
PA4HILL08 – #324 – I concur.
Obots have no business at a Hillary con call.
Shortermer are you still here. I went into the website you put up and left Marc a letter.
I come in here and all these links keep me busy.
Tomorrow I’m askin Murphy to let me sell PUMA stuff on my eBay account. WOO HOO!
Can’t believe I didn’t think of that before.
The only conference call I’ve heard about (on mainstream media) is the one by John NcCain to women Hillary supporters. Apparently it is happening on (a) Saturday. They made a big deal and contrasted him to Obama, in that McCain never campaigns on the weekends, but he is in order to garner support from Senator Clinton’s supporters.
#307 headoverhills
I scoured through earlier blog threads and found the McCain quotes I mentioned above. I’m pasting in what I learned; it echoes what I’d heard/read somewhere else, but couldn’t locate. I thought I’d seen it on his website but when I went there I saw only what you must have seen tonight. I felt like there was a paragraph missing, but maybe I’d read the Washington Post article but didn’t remember that that’s where I’d seen the following information. However, the quotes below were just what I thought were on the site.
Keep in mind McCain can’t come outright and say I’m pro-choice without jeopardizing alienating the conservative base of the R. party. You kind of have to search to find the more detailed position outlined below.
Here it is:
#480 BrooklynNY on 06.11.08 at 10:58 pm
I asked the McCainiacs on McCain’s site to help me find the reference I was thinking about. I’d read someplace McCain’s stance on abortion and it wasn’t as extreme-sounding as the Web site states, but I couldn’t remember where I’d seen it.
Here’s what I got back from a loyal Republican male McCainiac with a military-sounding screen-name, (by the way):
McCain has always held a pro-life stance, and believes Roe v. Wade should be overturned,
but
in a Washington Post article he stated: “I’d love to see a point where it is irrelevant and could be repealed because abortion is no longer necessary,”
In the same interview he said,
“But certainly in the short term, or even long term, I would not support repeal of Roe vs. Wade, which would force X number of women in America to (undergo) illegal and dangerous operations.”
He also said,
“It is also important to understand that Presidents cannot overturn Supreme Court decisions, and the Supreme Court typically does not overrule itself (the concept of “stare decisis”) unless previous decisions are proven to be bad for the nation as a whole (such as the “separate but equal” decision regarding segregated schools)”
Sounds kind of reasonable to me and like a pretty intelligent and reasoned reply to the issue.
I could most definitely live with that.
I also got an email but didn’t think it wise to put it up about the call
Murphy Bless her heart sure works hard
did anyone get a Alert letter today from http://www.clintondems.com ?
326 Brian Knoxville TN on 06.13.08 at 11:36 pm
thank you, Brian and everyone else who worked on the letter.
Sent my thank you card and check to Senator Clinton at her Washington office – too many BO lurkers on HillaryClinton.com – looks like the pods took over the bodies there. Let’s get that debt down so we don’t have to be beholden to anyone and can go after this party for real.
I’m signed up for the McCain call tomorrow – and then the Hillary call on Monday. Let’s all discuss what goes on when the calls are over.
Keep up the good work gang – we’ll organize the heck out of them – never underestimate the power of women when it comes to organization.
I’m so proud to be a PUMA -
also got one from voteboth.com for Hillary to be picked for VP

i got one about the DNC moving its office to Chicago. is that the one you mean?
PA4HILL08
On that Hillary Call info…I was just over to the HillaryVillage site (Normita) and someone on there post the info. I quick sent a post saying that it was on here and suggested to take it off so as the “you know who BOTS” are roaming in and about?
No matter if Mr. Obama picked Hillary for VP i never could vote for him. I would have to cross over and that is so hard to do but i would as everyone i know have gone independent. I pray every night and day that Hillary will still make it at the convention. I want to go so badly
no i got that one too. Earlier and i had already knew about that and it irks the heck out of me.

I feel the same way. Roe v Wade doesn’t worry me either. I don’t believe that it will be overturned.
1) Too many people have lived with it for too long to let it go.
2)It’s not the same issue it was 20/30 years ago when birth control wasn’t as good or as readily available and there was still such a stigma attached to being an “unwed mother,” “single mother,” sexually active outside of marriage, etc.
With everyone so concerned about “safe sex,” not so much to prevent pregnancy, but to prevent contracting AIDS or other nasty STDs, the need for abortion isn’t as crucial as it once was.
As far as NARAL and NOW, I really can’t stand this new head of NARAL and though I belonged to NOW years ago, found they were a lot of talk and no action. All they were concerned with was mainly the right to choose and some other rather irrelevant issue. They didn’t seem to care much about anyone except well-educated working women and keeping Roe v Wade alive. So many really important issues going on, but they didn’t seem to care; they were really behind the 8-ball in my mind, stuck in 1970 forever.
I met Hillary here in Vegas at a rally the night before the voting. She was introduced by her loyal freind and congresswoman Shelly Berkly who loves Hillary to death. She is a awesome Lady. I keep remembering how i was sure we women were going to make History and there i was being part of it and now my heart hurts
#339 sassysenora – You’re in on the letter for Monday? I have to check my gmail and look at all the “Yes I will” emails. Are you there yet?
BrooklynNY,
Back in the day NOW had it going on. They are way out of this picture, almost non existent. Really as shame.
Wow, it is truly amazing that Howard Dean is now delving into the blatant sexism of this disgusting campaign. Obviously he feels that women will now just say thanks for addressing a most heinous issue, and yes now we all will fall in line and vote Obama. I am not saying that there are are not those will fall for it, but OH NO NOT ME, you see when you are trying to address the terrible gender bias, you just ought not stick the knife in further, you see HOWIE it is NOT MRS. CLINTON, IT IS IN FACT SENATOR CLINTON!!!!!!! I have never heard one person refer to Obama as MR. in fact I believe it is always SENATOR OBAMA. So DEAR HOWIE in trying to be sympathetic, you did nothing but further embrace the sexism, keep putting in your little digs sir, because before long you will be digging your own political grave! We women are much smarter than we a given credit for!

sandipuma,
Me too. My heart is aching. I still our girl has something up her sleeve. She is just laying low.
I still think. LOL! gettting late
Don’t worry about it. I just over reacted because a couple of other times when I posted on this blog people would classify me as “bot”. I apologize for what I said.
I have been dreaming about Hillary becoming President for a long time. Hillary and President Clinton are amazing and brilliant people. We love them and their family very much. President Clinton opened the borders after the USSR fell apart and allowed me and my family to come here and have normal life. We are forever grateful to them.
I have Normita’s email, but I am always nervous about contacting people with my screen name. It will come through as “anonymous.hello”. I also emailed a person who sends me all of the updates to make sure that I can give out her email.
Okay, please don’t laugh at me. I have to admit something. When the results of the March 4, Primaries started coming in, I started having heart aches because I saw a state with BO as a winner and I didn’t read the name. Then I saw that it was Vermont and I was finally able to breathe again.
UPDATE: I just got an approval from the author of the email and I forwarded it to you.

You’re right. It is a shame. They just didn’t keep up with the times. They could have really continued to do good things….
I was very angered when writing my last post, ommited a few words, sorry if it is nonsensical. I simply can not stand when she is called MRS. and not her appropriate title.
Yikes Howard Dean,Pelosi amd Reid are a disgrace. A few others as well. They have gotten away with much to much. They should be thrown out . The whole DNC needs to be changed and lets hope we can be the ones to do it. I hope there are 3 million at the comvention not 1 million
right as she is The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton and nothing less and the strongest woman in the world
michelle47,
Oh no, you made perfect sense. I got it!! LOL!
I know, that condescending b.s. Senator Clinton can run circles around him in this life and his next 10!
#347 sandipuma on 06.14.08 at 12:08 am
i didn’t get the new one. i don’t like the DNC being move to Chicago either.
this is what really bothers me, beyond that the DNC is supposed to help all Dems, not just the presidential nominee
Obama’s DNC takeover extends beyond Chicago and Washington. His campaign is also expected to take control of the elements of state Democratic Party operations that are financed by the DNC as part of Dean’s “50 State Strategy,” according to state and national party officials. Those officials said the campaign would likely absorb the party staffers only in battleground states, and state officials were still absorbing plans Thursday.

i haven’t read today so i’m not sure what you’re talking about. i like the letter, though.
michell we all get angered and it is natural as we know all the wrongs that was done to our Lady who would have been the best Preident this country ever had.
We strong women are being underestimated, I simply can not wait to blow the doors off this whole Obama sham, and the funny thing is I don’t even think they see it coming.
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/06/13/democrats-mobilizing-to-hit-networks-in-the-pocketbook/
This is cool. I think some folks were looking for this typr of info earlier this week.
i’m depressed. i feel like the Dems first abandoned me and then ran over me a few times. i’d like to hear what McCain has to say tomorrow. (anyone know how to get in on that call?) but i haven’t seen the Repubs do anything concrete that shows me they value women, hispanics, asians, poorer americans, older americans, etc.
i’d love to find a home. i’ve had one with the dems my whole life. this is hard. but i have a feeling i’ll be living in my car for a few years.
#369 michelle47 on 06.14.08 at 12:28 am
do you have anything concrete when you say you can’t wait to “blow the doors off this whole Obama sham”? just wondering bc i don’t think the DNC is going to back down from their adoration for Obama no matter what happens.
Wonder if Barack will have his anti-smear trolls attack his half-brother?
http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12918.htm
sassysenora i do not like that they moved to Chicago either i was so angry i made a call. Because of what Dean and Reid and Peloi did the other day endorsing Obama as the candedate gave Obama the right to do as he pleased. I called my Congresswoman i was siething
None of us are happy about it and it just makes him think hes more stronger but i think it will make more people take a second look at him. He and Dean and Reis and Pelosi did not have the right untill after the convention. They have been making up their own rules and breaking half of them.
i wrote reis instead of Reid lol
#375 sandipuma on 06.14.08 at 12:34 am
i don’t remember any other candidate moving the DNC headquarters. does anyone remember that happening before?
haha thats a good one antifish
I don’t remember that happening before either but i guess with the rules changing all the time they are letting him do what he wants. It discusts me to no end
Sassysenora, the dnc will never stop their adoration for NOBAMA! As for concrete, I don’t know a single soul that is voting Obama, and let me tell you I know alot of souls. I really don’t know anyone that is voting Obama! I just have a gut feeling that when this is over the dnc will be in shambles, and a republican will be in the White House, and that means HILLARY2012!!!!!!!
Just want to say hello and thank you for this terrific site and movement. We must stick together and continue to support Sen. Clinton. She is the best person for the job and we need to stop the tainted nomination of the presumptive nominee. I do believe in miracles and maybe we can pull one off in Denver!
I am really hoping i can find someone in Vegas to go with to the convention i will wear a red shirt and then next day our blue shirt. I’ll keep our signs in the air untill my arms break
#371 sassysenora
I sympathize totally with what you’re saying. I felt the same way. I can’t even begin to tell you how crushed I was watching Sen. Clinton pull out and seeing what the DNC was doing to her.
I really had to drag myself over to even consider going Republican. But I did it and I don’t regret it one bit.
Just like the Democratic Party has been transformed and turned into your worst nightmare, all these scandals and policy failures at the Republican Party have changed the prevailing winds there too. There are a lot of reasonable, moderate Republicans who are similar to the few good Democrats left. McCain is one of them in my view. He’s worth taking a look at. I think he’ll do right by our country. He’s got spine and he’s got integrity. If he could spend 6 years in a Viet Cong P.O.W prison and not come out broken in spirit and soul, though perhaps in body at the time, he can withstand any pressures in Washington.
Look closely at his views on topics and keep an open mind. I’ve begun to question all my former assumptions. I’m taking nothing for granted anymore.

i know ppl, including my husband, who love obama. but i know more ppl who love hillary.
i don’t understand the polls that show obama being 4 points ahead of McCain. i hope all the obamabots live in a few states.
I agree with you Michell and hey don’t give up on Hillary yet she still might end up being the runner instead of Obama. He has a lot of people walking away from him this week
#380 michelle47 – do you mind me asking which state you live in? I’m interested to know because of what you wrote about not knowing anyone living there who will vote for Obama. I live in TN, where McCain will win no matter what. I am a proud Democrat, a loyal Democrat, who will happily vote against the chosen one in November, but I also know that he’s not going to win in TN regardless…
Do not ever believe the polls . They are more wrong than right. I never pay attenetion to them
Brian i’m not worried about Obama winning the White House as to many will vote Mccain to stop him as myself. But i still never give up on Senator Clinton
sassysenora
In fact, re: McCain, he described himself at his recent Town Hall meeting in NYC this way. He said:
“I’m rock-solid, not rock-star.”
Works for me.
Pumas,
Check this out. It’s a blog at DNC about the Chicago move. Some interesting exchanges going on.

thanks for the link to the conference call. i’m willing to look at mccain and i’d like to hear him.
i’m not a moderate, at least on domestic issues. i’m more of a boxer dem than a clinton dem – esp not a bill clinton dem who’s more moderate than hillary. i’m not happy that boxer has endorsed obama, though. CA voted for hillary pretty overwhelmingly and she’s supposed to represent us!
i’d like to see the Repubs do something for women, hispanics, and the working class/poor. if they move significantly on those issues, i’d be happy to vote for McCain.
RE THE DEAN LETTER FOR MONDAY, 16 JUNE 2008
Everyone still with us, please read the information above the letter that we want to send to Howard Dean at #326, the letter itself at #326, and the info at #243. Please get caught up on Monday’s letter to Dean initiative. You do not have to participate if you choose not to, but the more of us who do the better!
I will never give up on Hillary trust me, but I am telling you if the democratic party does not right these wrongs, we will see Mccain in the White House and with my help too! Honestly I don’t know anyone supporting NOBAMA, everyone I talk to is against him, And hey this might perk you up I LIVE IN THE GREAT SWING STATE OF OHIO!!!!!!!!
I agree – don’t listen to the polls. Half the time the margin of error is so ridiculously high, or not included in the poll results, that the results really can’t be considered seriously. They’re basically bs.

TOLEDO,OHIO TO BE EXACT< and right on the Michigan line too!
Hillary is the strong one but i keep wondering why Pelosi and Reid and Dean did her that way. I always wondered if money was involved. I mean don’t they realize that the party will be devided and your right about shambles.
#397 sandipuma on 06.14.08 at 12:55 am
i read somewhere (sorry i can’t remember where but it sounded credible though not irrefutable) that they don’t care if Obama wins. they want his money machine. they know he may not win in Nov and really don’t care much either way. they hope he’ll help elect downticket Dems.
#395 sassysenora – I got you on the list!
#396 michelle47 – I lived very close to the border between Michigan and Indiana for two years in the ’90s. Michigan and Ohio will definitely be important in Nov!
I have to sign off and get sleep. I’m already mad as hell, and when I get too tired I have a hard time not ranting endlessly at Obamabots.
Goodnight.
#382 sassysenora
Fair deal, sas. I hope you hear something you like.
I have to say I’m more of a moderate, Bill Clinton type Dem. But I kind of take honesty and integrity as non-negotiable. If need be, the Congress can fight it out if one side or the other goes to far to one side or the other. I can live with that.
Politics is compromise and I believe McCain and Hillary know that progress is incremental and you don’t always get everything you want but you try your best to get what you can to accomplish your goals. So, that’s all I want at this point – someone who’s fair and honorable, has a brain, thinks and acts with courage and independence, etc. I’m comfortable with McCain on all counts. The issues I may differ with him on I’m leaving to Hillary (my Senator in NY) and others that have a heart and a brain to fight for.
You know that Hillary and John McCain are friends and like and respect each other, right?
Another thing I like about McCain. He was always fair and respectful of Hillary. They liked each other.
sandipuma, I heard that also and it does not surprise me at all. This Obama is all air and no substance I know people see through that. The Clintons are brilliant, we have not seen the last of them yet!
#401 michelle47
I agree wholeheartedly with what you just said, michelle. I love them and I’m totally confident they are not going quietly into the night. They may be laying low right now, but believe me, they’re comeing back . And when they do, look out DNC, look out Howard Dean et al. Be afraid. Be very afraid!
#400 BrooklynNY on 06.14.08 at 1:00 am
i like it that McCain is respectful of hillary.
i admired McCain (even though i often disagreed with him) until 2004 and his falling in line behind Bush almost all the time. (i assume he did that in order to run for POTUS). i know, it’s politics but i don’t like it when any of them do that.
still, i’d rather have an honest moderate than a sleazy liberal. (of course, since i’m a liberal, an honest liberal is my idea. that’s why i like boxer so much. she’s liberal even when it’s not popular. )
idea = ideal
Hi Puma’s
I was just reading through the posts and notice there is a Voice of Reason on aol that is of concern. I am not that person. If need be Murphy, I’ll take a different name.

#400 BrooklynNY on 06.14.08 at 1:00 am
one big problem i have with McCain is his caving on the torture bill. torture is a huge issue for me. i thought it was for McCain too until he fell into line behind Bush.
Brian, are you still here? I also had my e-mail returned and now I cen’t find the alternate address you gave. Can you give it to me or can someone direct me to the post with the other e-mail. I will look again, I think I’m starting to see double because I am so tired. thanks.
yes i have seen him on aol and was wondering if we should be concerned
sandipuma,
I think the DNC took a gamble that we, the loyal base who’ve stuck with them through one failed candidate after another, would just go along with their little conspiracy. Obama was chosen precisely because he’s green and they can control him. They were scared to death of Hillary who was her own woman, had her own supporters and didn’t need them to be successful.
With billionaires like Soros and the Pelosi, Kennedy and Kerry social circles, they made a grab to wrest the party away from the Clintons. and, it would have worked, except for us. I think we are really freaking them out. They are trying to keep the media at bay, but just out blogging, you get a sense that many, many people are leaving the party.
They are hurting for money too. We just need to keep the pressure on them. One way is to contribute what we can to McCain. Barack has taken the funding of the entire party upon his shoulders. He’ll go broke once this election kicks into high gear.
Murphy has gone to bed. She works so hard

i wouldn’t count on them going broke. i think they’ll have plenty of money. i think that (and the potential to turn out lots of voters) is what’s driving their support of Obama.
that’s why they want to drive out the 527s – so they control all the money. and move to Chicago so that they can pretend to not take $$$ from lobbyists while defining lobbyist so tightly that many lobbyists will still be able to contribute big $$$ (but the base will believe that they’ve stopped taking dirty money).

Exactly my issue with McCain. Loved him in 2000, but caved into Bush way to many times since. But… I think if he was Prez and we had a Dem controlled Congress. He’d work with them. (or at least cave to the dems. lol)
#403 sassysenora
I didn’t like that either. I was a bit confused and disappointed by it. But I think the RNC did him in 2000 similarly to how the DNC did Hillary this election. I can’t remember the exact details, but I remember there was some really dirty tactic they pulled on him regarding one of his daughters. Whatever it was it was really beyond the pale.
My main point is that I think one of the reasons he’s sympathetic and disappointed in what’s happened to Hillary is ’cause he knows what they did to her. He knows in a very personal way – his party did the same thing to him. So when he says he wants to clean up Washington he means it. Actions speak louder than words.
He’s treated everyone civilly in this election. He’s treated his R opponents respectfully. He’s treated Hillary respectfully and even when he criticizes Obama he sticks to the issues and doesn’t make stuff up, like the DNC does.
well it is 10:16 PM here in Las Vegas and tomorrow i’m sitting in 104 temps selling watches ,caos and sunglasses to make money to buy to shirts for our cause.

i remember that Rove et. al. push-polled voters in some southern state and asked them if they’d be less likely to vote for McCain if they knew he had fathered a black child.
they did other stuff, too, though so i don’t know if that’s what you’re talking about.
i read that McCain voted for Gore in 2000. i don’t know if it’s true but i think almost everyone could understand if he did.
sassysenora,
You are probably right, however, the DNC is hurting for money right now. If they suddenly start stuffing their coffers after the move, don’t you think it’s going to look suspicious?

So many people doubt the women in our coalitions and all of us, actually.
We take the back seat on values so we can do the Dem Parties bidding all the time.
We have these issues every election cycle, but until now, we haven’t had the courage to do what’s right.
Taking back the party isn’t a choice.
Sunday i;ll sit in 106 temps too. lol untill i can’t stand it. Oh and yes Hillary and John are also freinds and have respect for each other to a certain extent.
Hi everybody, I’ve looked again and can’t find the alternative e-mail address to Brian. Does anyone know where it is or maybe I’m on the wrong thread? The original one is coming back undeliverable to me.
401 & 402 Michelle47 & Brooklyn NY you may have something there, Hillary and Bill are quiet and I’ve been worried, but —— let’s hope. I love them both, and Chelsey. All they’ve ever done is care for us.
Listen they better think again as we are the core and we have husbands that will stand beside us. Well i don’t. But most do. And we have sons who will look up to us and respect their Mothers. Daughters who will listen to us and respect us too. DNC should not be so cocky and be scared of us.
BrooklynNY -

i am glad it worked ,now pass it on to other blogs.thx
This guy Marc who responded to my blog, is scaring me. His mind is closed and his eyes will not be opened. I responded in depth, not for him but for other young people who might get it,hopefully, after reading his views. Below is the scariest part:
“If you and your fellow reactionaries lose this election for the Democrats, understand that this will be more than just a fight between the men and women in this country” Response: Is this not divisive talk? What are you talking about, more than just a fight between the men and women in this country? Is this a threat of violence? You are going to bring in troops from other countries? You are going to have a coup? What are you talking about? How could anyone lose the election for a party – it would have to be a majority of the voters in that party who defected because of mistreatment or perhaps illegal acts of the party leaders- and I can tell you that in my adult lifetime, I have not seen en masse exodus from a party like what will happen in the general election. Most people are loyal to their party until something really unlawful and awful happens. Remember, you can fool some of the people all of the time, you can fool all the people some of the time, but you can not fool all the people all the time. Let’s have this conversation again in two or so years should Obama win the election.
“Those of us who have never had the benefit of a righteous leader and who are finally feeling the surge of our own political empowerment will disown mothers everywhere who based their decisions not on fact but on emotions.” Response: Disown your own mothers, now that is a novel idea, that shows just how much respect you have even for your own mothers and what about reciprocating the unconditional love that the mothers have bestowed upon you? RIGHTEOUS leader???? Righteous means strictly observant of morality, justifiable, responding to injustice. Well for your candidate, two out of three ain’t bad. He fails the observant of morality if for no other reasons than he/she kept those beautiful innocent little girls in that church all their lives that taught hate. Refer to the statement about fooling people above.
#422 antifish on 06.14.08 at 1:21 am
they’ve been asking Hillary donors to give them $$$$. i think i read something about Soros getting more donors together, too. anyone else remember reading about that?
btw, just saw a moveon.org ad saying McCain is just like Bush. anyone else see similar ads? i thought BO said the Dems shouldn’t have 527 ads. isn’t moveon a 527?
#407 sassysenora
I’m not sure what his exact stance is on torture, but I was under the impression that he’s against it. If he voted for any torture in a bill, I think it may have been something included in a bill that he felt was important and/or vital and wouldn’t pass unless the torture clauses were left in. I don’t know for sure, but that’s the impression I had. I’m glad you brought that issue up. I’m going to look into it further. Sometimes when I have questions like that I go over to the McCain blog site and ask a McCainiac. Often they point me in the right direction to get more information and/or clarify things for me. What they tell me is verifiable and their help is much appreciated. They are good people.
brooklyny#402, Yes we do agree wholeheartedly, you don’t win the popular vote and just go away, you also don’t win all the important states and go away, YOU FIGHT, and we are the vessel, so we must also fight! I have never in my life fought harder, I believe in Senator Clinton, we are not going away, and through us she will prevail! WE THE PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING AWAY, WE WILL NOT FALL IN LINE, BECAUSE WE ARE THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

a lot of Obama supporters scare me. they’re very hateful. (obviously not all obama supporters.) their misogyny is deep and violent.
some of them hate old ppl, poorer ppl, hispanics, gays, rural ppl, or asians in similar ways.
We are growing every day and we will fight. I do not like sexism and i will not be put back 40 years nor will i be treated like a second class citizen
Short Termer,
Sounds like Marc is missing a few screws. Maybe he’s better left to his misery than worthy of further discourse?
sassy senora and brooklyn ny,
I can’t remember where I watched an interview, I think maybe Bill O’Reilly and John Mccain said he was very much against torture. Now that I think about it I think i t was A SEan Hannity interview.
#431 BrooklynNY on 06.14.08 at 1:28 am
no, approving torture was the main part of the bill. i remember bc that’s the last time i went to DailyKos. most of the ppl there knew nothing about, well, almost anything. it wasn’t worth it explaining filibusters, what the bill said, etc. over and over and over. and having them tell with (with no evidence to back them up) that i was wrong.
hey shortTermer i went into that website you posted and left a letter for Marc.
436 sheila7 on 06.14.08 at 1:33 am
but he caved and voted for the bill approving torture. after saying things suggesting that he might oppose it. he went along with Bush.
Yes they are very full of hate and when you go into a blog on aol they call you names

well our letters will give any young people who go in a thing or 2 to think about
#436 sheila7 and sassysenora,
What Sheila is saying rings a loud bell with me. I seem to remember having heard the same thing about JM’s position on torture. I seem to remember he said he didn’t believe it was right under any conditions, etc.
#430 sassysenora,
Hilary’s supporters are either maxed out or will give what they have left to retire her debt. I doubt that many will contribute to Obama.. I read an article about her rich supporters refusing to back him.
Yep, Ive seen those ads too. I know McCain and Obama both said they don’t want 527 ads, but they legally have no power to stop them. Obama will protest with a wink, wink while Moveon runs their ads. I’m sure the Repubs will do the same. Unfortunately, they are holding their ammo for after the convention. I predict Obama will be wiped out within three days of the convention adjourning. Anyone want to place bets?
#444 BrooklynNY on 06.14.08 at 1:38 am
yep. that’s what he said. and that he’d talk to Bush. but then he caved and went along with Bush’s bill.
Sassy, do you remember what the name of the bill was? I know this is a lot to ask, but maybe it’s # and/or about when it was passed. I ‘d like to check into it further.
I’m just wondering if maybe his position was distorted at Kos, just the same way his position on Roe v Wade and 100 years in Iraq has been distorted?

Actually I was just reading an article where they said that Clinton Donors are coming around and backing BO.
I can’t remember where that article is but I’ll try and find it to post here.
I’m not worried as much about money as I am about making sure we get to clinton supporters that might not visit blogs.
Also, I’m thinking that certain areas around OH, PA, FL, MI and possible some other areas where BO was all but rejected would be the BEST place to get flyers, bumper stickers etc etc out immediately. And, SOME of those people will be alerted to our coalition online.
#445 antifish
I read someplace that many of her “fat cat” donors refused to donate to him. A woman from Esprit – don’t know if it was the CEO, or whatever, CEO, owner, I don’t know, but she wouldn’t contribute to Obama or the DNC unless she saw evidence they cleaned up their act, (think FL and MI may have been her big issues, but I can’t remember for sure) she was seriously considering donating to McCain. Other big donors also refused to donate.

I will be forming a March to Denver for Northern California. Anybody interested??

Gosh, thanks so much for providing the link! Let me take a peak at it.
And thanks so much for the womencountpac one! I just read it and the woman from Esprit was Susie Tompkins Buell. Whew! How did they manage to raise $100,000 in 24 hours? $200,000 in 48!
faye,
you’re right that is so scary it’s not even funny. I really am horrified by the thought of him and his group taking over this country. I will never understand why so many have drank the koolaid.

you could contribute to http://www.womencountpac.com
they have some fairly deep pockets trying to help hillary.
#460 mnforhillary,
Don’t believe the polls! Just like the MSM, they are in Obama’s court. It’s all just a propaganda campaign to make him look stronger than he is.
womencountpac’s new ad is awesome. however they are getting their money let’s hope they can continue.
Don’t forget to support this dude.
http://edoreilly.com/

#464 BrooklynNY on 06.14.08 at 1:59 am
reading the list of founding members, i see
Susie Tompkins Buell is the co-founder of ESPRIT.
Rosemary Camposano (Communications Director, WomenCount PAC) is a former communications and public relations executive working in Silicon Valley for such companies as Motorola, Oracle, Seagate, 3Com, and others. . . . She lives in Los Altos, Calif., with her husband and son.
Jehmu Greene served as president of “Rock the Vote” from 2000 to 2005. She has been recognized as one of Essence Magazine’s 40 Women Under 40 Shaping The World
Stacy Mason (Executive Director, WomenCount PAC) is the former editor-in-chief of Roll Call, the newspaper that covers the U.S. Congress. She lives in Palo Alto, Calif., with her husband and three children.
Amy Rao founded Integrated Archive Systems in June 1994 and serves as its CEO.
i’d say that between the founders, their friends and spouses, and their contacts, it was probably pretty easy.
Well, I’m still logged on and typing away, mostly because I got myself caught up in a fight with some guy that ShortTermer was having a fight with and because I’m too stupid to take my own advice…
Anyway, I’m going to post my ridiculously long response to Marc. Something in it might be useful to you as you write letters to party leaders and the like:
http://outtheotherear.wordpress.com/2008/06/13/a-discussion-with-a-disgruntled-hillary-supporter/#comment-177
Marc,
Facts are very interesting and are essential to any good argument. It’s the spinners and those who use facts inappropriately, whether deliberately or unwittingly, whom I find uninteresting.
Had the DNC and the RBC just halved the delegates in the first place as Ickes said a year ago that they should have done and exactly the way the Republicans did do, then a good part of the problem we are now facing within the Democratic Party would never have existed. The initial decision of the RBC to deny Michigan and Florida any of their delegates (which was not only totally unnecessary according to the party’s rules, but completely against Howard Dean’s commendable 50-state strategy, the strategy that Obama now–after having not supported counting all the votes in Michigan and Florida, after not accepting a compromise plan that would have allowed new primaries in those states, and after completely ignoring the voters in states like Kentucky and West Virginia–claims to think is so vital to the Democratic Party principles. Now he says it. WELL, THEY ARE VITAL TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, but why is Obama so constantly able to do or say one thing at the beginning of any given week, when it fits his career objectives, and then say the exact opposite thing at the end of that week, when that fits his career objectives?
I do not mean to bring up smear, but he did the exact same thing when he joined a church to advance himself politically 20 years ago and then recently resigned from that same church to advance himself politically. You just can’t make this stuff up. Does this level of duplicity strike you as ‘change we can believe in’?
You have lived threw nearly 8 years of a president who was not qualified for the office, but won in 2000 on nothing but empty slogans and vague promises. Now, Obama is running on empty slogans and vague promises. However warm and fuzzy they might make you feel to hear them, they’re nothing but empty slogans and vague promises.
If history has taught us anything, it’s that when incompetent politicians get power by means that are less than legitimate, they hold on to it tight, abuse it, and do only those things that will allow them to maintain and extend it. You’ve seen it with the Bush adminstration. If you look, you can see it already happening with the Obama campaign’s power-grab over the DNC.
In both cases, they had a little less than the popular vote and both were selected (Bush by the Supreme Court and Obama by important Democratic Party committees). When the basis of one’s position is weak, as the selected nominee’s position is now, there is a tendency to act secretively and even tyrannically.
Bottom line, Obama convinced just enough people to vote for him in January and February–despite the fact that they knew little about him and that he had no real record of accomplishments–by packaging or marketing himself with warm and fuzzy rhetoric. In March, the shallowness and lack of substance was becoming apparent just when the Rev. Wright nonsense broke out.
But now you will see that Obama is not the warm and fuzzy guy that so many people thought he was. He was nasty to Hillary Clinton during the nomination process, but the party leaders and the media ignored it and he got away with it. At the same time, Hillary Clinton was measured in her attacks against him, though party leaders and the media erroneously and constantly complained that she was not.
Well, with the Republicans as the adversary and with the media looking for new fights, he will not be so lucky. All of his meanness toward McCain will be apparent and exposed. And, at the same time, the Republicans will tear him several new ones.
By November, he will wish he never started his premature run for the presidency and he will never be able to run for anything outside of Illinois ever again, and maybe not even there. And the Democratic Party and the country will be better off for it.
Well, I haven’t even begun to say all there is to say, but I’ve said enough.
#397 Sandipuma, back in February shortly after Feb.5, Super Tuesday, I read in the paper that Mr. Coward Dean
said that he was afraid that if BHO=HBO lost the nomination then Democratic party will loose the African-American block for years, and if Hillary lost, then we will loose women votes for many years to come.
He also said at that time that he wasn’t going to count MI and FL votes because they voted early and that “we don’t need them, because we’ll have the nominee”. A little while later, he CANCELLED hotel registration for FL delegates.
HE MADE ME SO ANGRY!!!
I found a petition to sign to have Dean resign. I’ll post the link. How could we have elected somebody so UNSMART???
I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT IN THE MOST DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, WE ARE HAVING “COMMUNISTIC” TYPE ELECTIONS!!!

I’d like a bumper sticker/pin/poster/button that said “God D**m Barack Obama”!
I have never seen anything in my life like this election. It is not good. I also am afraid at the convention there could be a uprising and not a pretty one.
Why is Obama still ahead in the polls? He sure has a lot of airhead believers, I ran into them at the caucus and they worship him like a God but otherwise sane people must be lining up behind him now. We really have to turn this around. I work with mostly people from age 21 to 30 and they think the Obamaites are creepy and cult like. I know the polls were faked to make Hillary look like she was behind but do you think these polls are accurate? Democratic women in particular need to get over being afraid of McCain. Obama is the much scarier choice. And believe me he will not speak out against sexism because he benefited from it. Sexism was Obamas friend and he encouraged it while the DNC turned a blind eye to it.
LOL good one faye4hill i love it

Brian, Marc took down your last entry. I had just finished reading it and poof it was gone. I asked him what happened to it. #465 Sheila7–a while ago I read (I think it was on MiamiHerald) that older Jews don’t trust HBO, but the younger Jews said that they don’t listen to their leaders and that they’ll vote for him because they like him. It scared and upset me so much.
The scary thing is that there has been a movement within the last 7 or 8 years–younger generation of Jewish people claimed that Holocaust never existed. AAAAAA!!! (Screaming). It’s probably because a lot of these people never heard or felt the experience of WW2 veterans.
I grew up with my grandfather telling me how after one of massive bombings he and his 2 assisstants (he was a paramedic) ran from one soldier to the next to help them–wrap the wounds to stop bleeding. My grandfather was 3 feet away from one soldier and just as he was going to run up to him the soldier raised his arm, and it dropped on the ground. At that point my grandfather knew that the soldier passed away and his soul went up to heaven. He also told me that during massive bombings he had to treat so many wounded soldiers that his hands would become sticky from so much blood as he worked with soldiers, and he would have to rub his hands so that the blood would dry up and he would be able to continue to work.
These stories make us more aware of the dangers in the world. We begin to value life more and try to protect ourselves and our family more. However, the recent younger generation don’t accept it and try to be cool ignoring their family history and heritage. They don’t understand that if they drink kool-aid and vote for a terrorist, then our lives will be destroyed.
I am 27, and my grandfather’s whole family: mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law and 2 nieces–6 years old and 6 months old were killed by Nazis. Even today I can feel what my grandfather went through more than 60 years ago.
These young people (my oldest nephew is one of them) don’t understand what we older generation know and had gone through. If I tell my friends something about it they say: You lived here for how many years? Oh 14? And you are not back there any more; you are here. It’s a very complicated issue and I really hope and pray that “the kool-aid” drinking generation would come back to real life.

#497 sheila7 – Got it! You’re on the list. I don’t understand what’s going on with those gmail accounts… one works for most people. the other one for most other people. and now you can’t get through to either. I don’t know.
#486 ShortTermer – I looked through the Marc stuff but saw nothing about a perceived coup? Does he think we’re revolutionaries now? He called me a ‘reactionary,’ but he obviously has no idea what that even means. I want to see what you’re talking about. Who exactly is this guy, anyway?
Thanks PUMAS for the comments on Marc. I took the time out of my multi-tasking [got five windows open here trying to keep up with them all. Thanks for having my back; I thought it necessary to at least talk [to the girls] about misogyny there, even if they do not listen, I have done my part.
Brian, you rock. And yes, I want to particiatpe in the Dean letter Monday.
Wow, these blogs are getting so much traffic, it is hard to keep read up on all the posts.
Those speaking of funders, has any thought been given to team up with other groups and do a greater spread of ads or billboards, share the cost, and both groups credited for them?

I hear what you’re saying….It’s frightening that they take so many things for granted and just don’t understand what it took to get where we are and easily we can lose it all if we’re not vigilent. Complacency and arrogance are dangerous luxuries we cannot afford now or ever.
thanks brian and anonymous thanks for the insight, hopefully we can make a difference.
I’ve got to go to bed….this time for real. Goodnight everyone. See you next time.
As I head off to bed, I would like to thank the baby puma in the photo at the opening comments to this thread for making me smile every time I had to refresh the page.
Thanks to everyone. Goodnight.
Brian, this is the passage I was talking about, and I asked him what he meant, I wondered if he/ they were threatening to do a coup of our country.
#485 Sheila7, I used this email to send letter to Coward Dean: HowardDean@dnc.org
It didn’t bounce back, so I am hoping that he got it.

anonymous,
It’s sad that young Jews would deny the Holocaust. I visited several concentration camp sites when I was stationed in Germany in the 80s and 90s. Living there, I became very interested in the history of the Third Reich and all that happened. Many weekends were spent retracing history at the actual sites. I’ve read countless books on the subject and there’s just no way anyone could deny it happened.
#507 BrooklynNY, thank you for your support. I am very lucky and grateful that my grandfather lives with me. He helps me take care of my son–he is 4.5 years old and had a heart surgery when he was 1 week old.
You know I am kind of hoping that my nephew will forget to register to vote this year–he turns 18 in September. THAT would be 1 less vote for HBO.
Good night,
anonymous
Short Termer,
I’m afraid we’d better prepare ourselves. If Obama loses in November, there will be massive riots in this country. The young people are completely enthralled by him and, I’ve no doubt, they will lash out.
That thought makes me very leery about putting a McCain Democrat sticker on my truck or a McCain sign in my yard. I had a Hillary sign in my yard for months. One was actually stolen on primary day, but I replaced it. I’ve taken it down, but I’m afraid if I now put up a McCain sign, I may be faced with vandalism. My neighborhood has many Barack supporters.
Who was it that said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” We must be strong. I live in a place that do not allow signs and such; I wish I could post some. And, they have told us, many of them, like this young man March that there will be a civil war. But they don’t worry about what we will do – they just dismiss us. This shouls be brough to McCain’s attention.
OK, looks like everyone left. Over and out!
#513 antifish, It’s very sad that they even think that. But today’s teenagers like my nephew they are very cool and busy with themselves. He and his sister used to come to CA to spend the summer with us every year until 2003, and my nephew is always wild, and doesn’t really want to listen to anybody so we thought that if my grandfather would tell him about his experience during and after WW2, he would behave differently, but every time when my grandfather would start telling him about the war he would say “okay, yeah, thank you” and walk away.
I don’t understand this at all. But the scariest part is that the younger generation that deny Holocaust LIVE IN ISRAEL. They don’t live in Russia for instance where people would see you on the street and say things to you because you are Jewish. They knew if the person was Jewish by their last name and by their nose.
The first time I learned about it I was furious. I went into the kitchen and told my uncle and my grandfather about it, and you can imagine their reaction.
When my grandfather came home after the war he went to the apartment where they lived before the war, and people who lived there told him that his whole family was killed by Nazis. They told him that one of the neighbors knew where they were hiding, and she was afraid of the Nazis and wanted to make sure that they’ll be nice to her, so she told them where my great-grandparents were hiding.
7 people: mom, dad, sister, her husband and 2 girls; the youngest one was 6 months old. My grandfather always says that he urged them to leave while they still could, but they refused, and he was begging his sister to let him take the girls, but she didn’t. After the war only he and his older brother survived.
My mom and I visited Washington D.C. in December of 1996, and we went into the Holocaust museum. It was very scary. You can’t even believe that it could be done to people.
Gas chambers–they put Jews into the car and drove them off and then locked them in the room filled with gas. They told them that they were going to take a shower.
In 1999 my mom and I went to see Jacob the Liar–I had to write a movie review for my class. I began to cry and my mom said that it was a lot less then what really happened.
When I was little my grandfather taught me, and my 2 cousins (my sister is 12 years older than me) how to march like soldiers, how to put band aids on cuts, etc. My grandfather called us “Lietenant” and would say “march to me”. We learned how to greet the person in charge–stand straight, put your left hand near your temple and if you are not wearing a “hat” then you need to put your right hand over your head. Now I think that it might be time to start teaching my younger nephew and niece, and my son what we learned when we were little. About 2 years before I got married my grandfather started calling me “Lietenant” again. It was really cool.
God bless us all. God bless America and God bless Israel.

As we move toward the general election, the Democratic Party has to be the Party of ordinary Americans, not Washington lobbyists and special interests. So, as of this morning, if you’re a federal lobbyist, or if you control political action committee donations, we won’t be accepting your donations.

Dear _________,
I wanted to drop you a quick note about a major policy change here at the Democratic Party.
As we move toward the general election, the Democratic Party has to be the Party of ordinary Americans, not Washington lobbyists and special interests. So, as of this morning, if you’re a federal lobbyist, or if you control political action committee donations, we won’t be accepting your contribution.
This is an unprecedented move for a political party to make — one that has sent shockwaves through Washington and has turned the debate on clean campaigns upside down. We’ve unilaterally agreed to shut lobbyists out of the process, and are we’re relying on people just like you.
Just imagine what hundreds of thousands of Americans donating $20, $30, or $50 at a time can accomplish together. Imagine the signal that it sends to anyone who looks at John McCain’s political machine and the special interest money it needs to fuel every move it makes.
We have a chance to change the way business is done in this country, and we’re taking the lead. Will you join us and make a contribution right now to help us elect Barack Obama?
http://www.democrats.org/nonlobbyists
I’ve written before about guys like Charlie Black and Rick Davis, lobbyists who are at the highest levels of McCain’s campaign. But they’re just the start — John McCain and the RNC suck up lobbyist money millions of dollars at a time.
In May, McCain had his best fundraising month of the campaign, and it was directly because he refuses to shut special interests out.
But we did, and we need your help. This is an example of the kind of White House Barack Obama would run. Make a contribution to help elect him:
http://www.democrats.org/nonlobbyists
I’ll be in touch later about our plans for the general election, but I wanted to let you know about our policy change right away.
Thanks,
Howard Dean

Note: BHO also has lobbiest working for his campaign. And he also takes donations from them… not as a group, but his campaign has a long list of *individual* lobbying donners who gave the maximum dollar amount of $2,500. IOW, he is working through a loop hole.
The most recent shake-up in the BHO campaign was the removal of Jim Johnson, a lobbiest for Country Wide.
This email received, June 7th, the day of Hillary’s *suspension* speech. Took this man, all of 17 months to finally recognize Hillary’s attributes and/or to speak out against sexism as he did at the May 31st meeting; but only 20 seconds to dismiss her. And now he wants our support!—amazing! Truly amazing.

Dear ________,
We’ve just finished the most exciting primary contest in a generation, and Barack Obama is our presumptive nominee for President.
Senator Clinton ran an outstanding campaign and we all should be deeply thankful for the passion, energy, and ideas that defined her from the start. Our country and our Party are better off today because the incredible amount of work she and her supporters put into her campaign. We thank Hillary for her leadership, her commitment to America and the Democratic Party.
It can be tough to lose a hard-fought race — I know, because I’ve been there. But no matter who you supported, you’re part of a bigger family — one that shares the same hopes, values, and dreams. This campaign is so much more than any of us or any candidate. It’s about the future of our country, and our collective desire to take it back for the people who make it great.
Over the next few weeks and months, our family will reunite. It starts today, and I’m asking for your help. Reach out to your friends and family, your neighbors and coworkers, and anyone else who may have fought hard for what they believed in. Bring them in and remind them that we’re a family — that together, we can bring about fundamental change and elect a Democratic president.
We have to be unified if we’re going to bring universal health care to America’s families, to help fight global climate change, to ensure a woman’s right to make her own medical decisions, and to end the war in Iraq.
We have to be unified if we’re going to put a Democrat back in the White House.
Over the past few years, we’ve all been part of the work to rebuild the Democratic Party in all 50 states.
When the primary came around, we found ourselves with two once-in-a-lifetime candidates. Barack and Hillary crossed the country inspiring activists, building organizations, and registering new voters. In state after state, we saw record turnout that dwarfed the Republican’s; we saw hundreds of thousands of Americans become involved with a Democratic campaign for the first time; and millions of voters saw just how passionately we feel about the future of our country.
After years of rebuilding and a historic primary campaign, our Democratic community is stronger than ever before. And with Barack Obama, we have a candidate who has inspired millions of people to believe again.
But change doesn’t come easily — and no matter how much we’ve prepared, no matter how inspiring our candidate, no matter how badly we want it to happen, we have to fight for it every step of the way. Absolutely nothing will be handed to us over the next five months — we have to do everything we can to make sure Barack Obama is our next President.
We’ve just seen two brilliant candidates run the most exciting primary in decades. Now we need to come together and finish the job.
I’m looking forward to it.
Howard Dean

I’ve just unsubscribed from moveon.org mailing list; and below is my reasoned response:
******************
[Begin Cut/Copy/Paste]
BHO is not the party’s chosen nominee; but only the *presumptive* nominee.
Hillary won the popular vote.
Hillary has the Electorial MAP to beat McCain in the fall and you are endorsing the WRONG candidate.
Obama blocked the FL and MI revote
Obama stole 64 delegate votes
Obama did not speak up against sexism and in fact incouraged his supporters to attack Hillary during the 17 campaign.
Obama has never defined change nor has he ever said how he intends to change the policical atmosphere of Washington. By what means? Does he really think that the Executive Branch controls our Congress??? I mean, get real… for a man who was suppose to have taught the Constitution, this man does not know the basics of politics101.
Obama has too many unsavory relationships like Trinity Unity Church, Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss, William Ayers, Michael Pfleger, Richard M Daily who was most responsible for his handling of the 1968 Democratic Convention riots in Chicago; as well as his buddy David Axelrod; both men who have endorsed Mr Obama.
IOW, I DONT TRUST Mr O or his message of change. This is not change we can believe in… it is corruption at its highest.
And MoveOn should not have endorsed a candidate until WE THE PEOPLE elected him. (That would have been on June 3rd of this year).
And so now, all we have to look foward to is the SuperDelegates doing the *right* thing in Denver and elect Hillary Rodham Clinton for President of the United States. Until that time, he is not the nominee!
SHE IS!

I am a registered Republican
Supported Hillary 100%
Will not, cannot vote for Mr Obama
Going back to McCain
You did nothing to try to get a revote for FL and MI; and in fact blocked it.
You stole 64 delegates you neither earned nor won at the DNC May 31st meeting because you had REMOVED your name from the MI Ballot.
You violated DNC rules by advertising via the internet and mailers that folks vote uncommitted; and then you stole those votes on May 31st.
This is not change I can belive in. This is Chicago style corruption at its height and reminds me/us how you won the 1996 election.
You will NEVER get my vote.
You won’t even get 64 cents worth!
And don’t put me on your emailing list, EVER!
And btw, bro; in all the 17 months of campaigning against Hillary you never ever did define what CHANGE means, now did you.
I am also angry because you allowed; and perhaps in some instances even paid folks to blog and then trash Hillary; and they did it in the most vile and disrespectful of ways… IOW, you and Howard Dean allowed people to use sexism in the campaign, and did not speak up against it or try to stop it. But when it comes to your own wife, now all of a sudden you are concerned about your wife and have erected a web site to fight republican smear tactics of the 527′s.
Can we say hypocrite!

Thanks for the tips.

Try not to swing when the pitcher sends garbage like that over the plate (more advice that I seem unable to follow!). You were right to ask for clarification!
Maybe when we’re confronted by such statements/attacks, we should also always say/write something like:
“Apparently, you are not familiar with the goals of Puma Pac or with what its members want to accomplish. Please go to blog.pumapac.org, click on ‘ABOUT’ at the top of the page, and read about us and our goals.”

RE CNN POLITICAL TICKER STORY “CLINTON BACKER TURNS TO McCAIN”
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/13/a-clinton-backer-turns-to-mccain/#comments
I sent three brief comments yesterday between 5:35 and 5:45 stating simply my support for Will Bower and Puma Pac (I put “blog.pumapac.org,” “Go PUMA PAC,” and “PUMA DEMOCRAT,” respectively, at the end of the three comments).
Not one got through the moderators. They’re still showing as waiting for moderation, so there’s still some small hope…
Thank you to every one of you who did send a comment to CNN. I saw a handful of those comments that did make it through the moderator!

Couldn’t let that slide here is my email to dean.
Mr. Dean
I have read about your your recent concerns regarding the sexist comments made about Senator Clinton during the primary. Since I do not actually believe that you were not aware of it, I cannot believe in your concerns. Believe this Mr. Dean, women know that abusers always apologize after the fact and promise it will never, never happen again! To little to late.

I have to admit that I did not watch Senator Clinton’s speech. Yes, I am a wimp. I did see a news leader with the part of her saying she would support him. I noticed she was referencing cards. How often does Senator Clinton need cards or a teleprompter to get her meaning accross? Rarely!
#518 Shortermer
The quote you refer to: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself,” is from Sir Winston Churchill to the people of England during the Nazi bombardment of civilian areas, particularly in London, during WWII. The Nazis were trying to demoralize the people of England. Winston Churchill wouldn’t stand for it.
#521, #522, #523, #524 Cosmeta
Just read your posts above. Particularly liked #524! The audacity of Dean/DNC/Obama astounds me. It’s comical. Clear indication of how stupid they think people are. I really find it hard to believe they could be so completely out-to-lunch that they’d actually think that bs could work.
I don’t get any correspondence from DNC or Obama campaign, nor any emails from them, anymore.
My last piece of mail from DNC came between the last primary and Hillary’s speech on June 7th.
It was a crazy survey and solicitation for money. I was not feeling too charitable towards Dean and the DNC then, but nowhere near as outraged by them as I am now….Dean asked in the survey “How important is Roe v Wade to you,” and about McCain wanting to spend 100 years in Iraq. I thought to myself,”You’ve got to be kidding me!” Re: Roe v Wade – he was out there trolling to see much traction they could get out of milking that issue dry, I felt I was being set up to be manipulated. Again. Re: 100 years in Iraq – that one just p.o.’d me to no end, ’cause it was a deliberate distortion of McCain’s position! If you want to know how I feel about McCain’s position on Iraq at least GET his position right! Then ask me. Don’t think I’m such an idiot that can’t see through that juvenile political deception and manipulation, regardless of WHO’s doing it, D. or R.! Contrary to Dean and Obama, I BELIEVE what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I didn’t like it when the R.’s messed with peoples’ heads and presented all kinds of lies and deceptions to the people, fixed elections, etc., and I am even MORE infuriated with the D.’s do it!
Well, I replied that I thought the 100 years war comment would have zero effectiveness on me and I added,”That’s a complete distortion of his position.” Turns me off to you more than it does McCain because I see you’re lying to me. And I was sort of lukewarm about Roe v Wade. I’m not worried about it being overturned.
On the request for money for the DNC, I was a little torn at first. I ALMOST sent in a donation, thinking “well, the money would go to help other D.’s that I like get elected,” etc., it’s the DNC, not Obama campaign, etc. I guess there was a little angel sitting on my shoulder, whispering, “Don’t do it! Don’t do it!” and thankfully, I LISTENED! (Always trust your gut!). So, instead of signing a check, I wrote, “Sorry, I cannot donate to the DNC, not after following this election and seeing how the party has treated HRC. I no longer support the DNC and will be supporting McCain in the general election! I put the solicitation for money and the survey back in their envelop, resisted the urge to put my own postage on it to save them money, and mailed it in. Lo and behold, Haven’t heard a word from them since! Can’t say I miss them. LOL.
And now that I see that the DNC has been turned into Obama, all day, all night, all the time….I am SO glad I didn’t give them one red cent!
To that form on Hillary’s site right after her speech for people to sign up to show their support to Obama, I wrote these six short words, all caps, “NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.”
It felt good.
Hey Brooklyn Ny, new thread upstairs.
morning!
Hey, Murphy. Nice to see you! Just wanted to respond to a few things I saw here and now I’m off upstairs! Thanks for the heads up! By the way, you’re doing a great job and I really appreciate it!
I tried to retrieve my gmail I’ve been locked out too –
my username and password ‘do not exist’. Brian and I have shared emails at this address.
What gives? Do we wait, or do you think this is permanent???
ELAINE & BRIAN …….. AND MURPHY -
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO – GREAT LEADERSHIP!
WE’RE WORKING OUR BUTTS OFF FOR HILLARY –
WE BELIEVE IN HER AND WE CANNOT GIVE UP ON
DEMOCRACY – THEY WILL NOT STEAL IT FROM US!
ON TO DENVER TO CLAIM OUR PRIZE!
Hey antifish…no worries. You can’t be too careful. I’m signing off as voiceofreason to avoid any confusion.
Murphy…I agree with breaking threads into subjects for quicker access.
Also, what about using the website address to post a very clean action list with links and sample letters, etc? There is a lot of passion out there, but some of Hillary’s most ardent supporters are not savvy bloggers. It’s a bit overwhelming to read all the posts.
An email capture should also be on the page. We need to get a list going asap! That’s critical.
Signing off as voiceofreason.
I’d be willing to take the project on.
Hello fellow PUMAs! I’m Eric from Lawrence, KS, a new member here. I have something very interesting to show you about Super Tuesday in Kansas from my favorite news station, NBC Action News out of Kansas City. Go to this article:
http://www.nbcactionnews.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=630131D6-9686-411D-B63A-49A1DB034261&gsa=true
It’s called “Party apologizes for chaotic caucus” – basically the caucuses in Kansas were so disorganized and just awful experiences for those who went. The most outrageous part of this news story (because of what happened…their coverage is awesome) is contained in the video.
I urge you: WATCH THE VIDEO! It proves our point – that Obama was “selected” not “elected”. Paul Travis had a struggle with a caucus volunteer as he was going to sign his name on the Clinton clipboard. The video describes his frustrating experience as she tried to push him to vote for Obama. This comes more than halfway past the video…pay close attention when the reporter says that some voters wondered if their vote even counted.
I didn’t go, since traffic to the caucus site was awful, and I was concerned that I wouldn’t make it on time. Unfortunately, I was stuck in that traffic since I take that same road home that many people were taking to the caucus
I just wanted Deep South and rlp33 that I copied the links you provided about news articles on voter registration scams and sent them to someone in the campaign, he said they would be used in Arlen Spector’s case. I hope that’s okay. I will also write a letter to our local paper, so hopefully people will be warned. I may also call my county auditor’s office. Still haven’t got thru all the posts, but will be donating to HRC and even more that she IS the nominee.

witchy 1
Hi! First post here. I’m Bron from Richmond, VA (Mechanicsville, actually) and I’m here mostly because of my extreme disappointment with the DP, the media, and the basic unfairness of the race (in my opinion). Also because of my experiences with the various left blogs (e.g. Mahablog) where I found myself routinely attacked and often banished for simply making any statement remotely supportive of Hillary Clinton or questioning anything about the Obama campaign. The viciousness of the attacks caught me quite by surprise.
The media’s incredible bias and mendacity also distrubs me. The endless tirades by Keith Olbermann, Jack McCafferty, and other fat heads of that ilk, for example. The utter hatred shown by many in the media was shocking. Where does this hatred come from? It baffles me.
I was fortunate enough to see Hillary speak here at the Capital when Bill was making his first run. His voice was giving out, so he spoke only briefly and then turned it over to Hillary. I went home that night and told my wife “I’m not sure about Bill, but Hillary might make a good President.” And I still think so. (And Bill did a great job, btw, in my opinion.)
Just tonight the local DP called me to see if I would canvas for Obama and Warner (Mark Warner is running for the Senate here.) And I told them, politely, no, I’m sorry, I do not support Sen. Obama. (I do support Warner and told them that as well.) So I’m ‘out of it’ for this year now.
I am an independent, but I gave more to Hillary’s campaign this year than I’ve ever given to a campaign before, both in money and time. I really felt she would get things done that need doing. The leadership of the current DP is about as poor as I have seen in my lifetime (I’m 57).
I like Obama well enough. But I did my research and know he’s not the saint some think. But who in politics is, really? I just don’t think he has the experience needed, I don’t like his Health Care plan, and I very much fear he may lose what should be a sure thing. I also find him and his supporters quite elitist, which rubs me the wrong way. I think the DP have forgotten all about the “common people” – the backbone of this once great nation.
I do believe it’s over for Hillary (sorry!) for now, but I would like to see the truth come out about this campaign and the incredibly poor job the media did, the dirty behind the scenes moves of the DP elite to work against Hillary, and so on. Just as almost no one has a clue what really happened during Bill Clinton’s years as President, I fear no one will know what really happened during this campaign. But maybe PUMA will change that.
I also would like to see Hillary continue in the Senate and have as much power behind her as possible to get the things done I know she wants to accomplish. Who knows, maybe she’ll get another shot?
