Dr. Dean:

I have voted Democratic straight ticket for 34 years. This year I will not. The resounding silence of the DNC while Senator Hillary Clinton and her supporters were villified, disrespected, and attacked continuously by a biased media and the opponents campaign will not be tolerated. In addition, the travesty of Michigan, in removing legal delegates from one candidate to give to another was unconscionable.

My vote is my voice. I will be using it this year to send a message that is loud and clear. The democratic party is no longer democratic.

Since the Democratic Party has seen fit to select a candidate [rather than elect one], ram that candidate down the electorate’s throat, and then turn a deaf ear to all and any protest, I no longer feel divided.

I am no longer a Democrat. I am one of the 18 million!

Dear Dr. Dean,

I will NOT be voting for the selected Democratic candidate for several reasons:

1. Senator Obama has not done ONE single thing for the benefit of this country in his entire history as a politician.

2. Senator Obama bullied his way into the Senate and used similar tactics to get the Presidential nomination.

3. I am appalled for being called a "racist" for not falling in line and voting for someone lacking proper credentials.

4. I am protesting this party's lack of courage to stop the misogyny and disrespect aimed at Senator Clinton throughout the entire primary season.

5. No voter should be considered half a citizen.

6. The way superdelegates were bullied into voting for Senator Obama was so overt it was completely outrageous and disgusting.

This educated female minority will not be voting for your candidate of choice Dr. Dean. I used to be proud of the fact that you are an alumni here at Einstein, I no longer look up to you.

I was a lifelong democrat. For the past 25 years I volunteered for every national election working for the party in various ways, from stuffing envelopes to picking people up and driving them to the polls so they could vote as a democrat.

It was my party. I loved my party. Then Howard Dean and the R&B decided it was THEIR party, not the people's party. They de-selected my candidate, they stripped me of my vote only to be so very gracious as to then count me as 1/2 a voter, as 1/2 a democrat, as 1/2 a citizen.

Dr. Dean, in case you haven't noticed by all the angry people in this country, we NOTICED when you urged the superdelegates to basically select Obama so you could tie up the race and seemingly save face. Or was it because he was your candidate? And you did this well before the end of the primaries! Hillary won several primaries after this slanted public urging of yours (who knows how you strong-armed the superDs privately) and she ended up winning the popular vote. That was not much a win for your candidate was it? Winning without the majority of U.S. democratic voters? Wow. That's embarassing. But it meant nothing to you or the R&B committee as I sadly watched on a depressing Saturday how you not only told me but hundreds of thousands in MI and FL that we are only 1/2 citizens. You couldn't punish the state parties themselves, NO, you had to punish the voters. What kind of democracy is that? What kind of self-respecting, educated individual wants to belong to such a party? Not this Doctor.

It is nothing short of a travesty the way the DNC acted during this entire "s-election." You backed a candidate who has the most suspicious and flagrantly racist and America-hating associates, has hardly any experience, has the congressional record of a Jr. Congressman (a very green Jr. one at that) and has a wife who is very clearly angry with a black agenda. Hillary has at least three times the experience and work ethic. Hillary has worked beyond party lines. Hillary has the respect of other leaders and the strength and grace to bring respect back to the office of the president. Hillary has a life of service to ALL people, not just certain minorities. Hillary has Bill. Bill, the one who wiped away a 66 trillion dollar deficit to bring us into 7 wonderfully prosperous years. And the list goes on since history is already touting him as a giant among presidents. Shame on you for going to the Junior Varsity team for the nominee when the Varsity team was front and center and backed by the majority of voters. Shame on you for swindling the voters out of a fair and democratic election.

I still want to vote for Hillary, but in my opinion, John McCain deserves to win this race. Who cares what the polls say since the people already proved them wrong over and over again during the primaries? At least Obama has the good sense to look VERY nervous about the 18 million Hillary supporters. Beware Dean and the DNC: that's a huge number of people to fail to hoodwink. A huge number.

Dear Dr. Dean,

It has been thirty-two years since I joined our beloved Democratic Party. Alas, our long marriage is now officially OVER.

Thank you for being so clear about not wanting my vote this year. I heard that plainly... about how Mr. Obama, )your "selected" candidate) will not be needing Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida .... or any of the other swing states that can't be easily duped into voting for an empty suit.

Sen. Obama is full of promises, but has no experience with which to carry them out. He has treated my chosen candidate (who ran on experience) like a dead albatross. If, indeed, Sen. Clinton is "dead" politically.... then you ( and your crooked band of DNC thieves) killed her. Hence, you deserve to wear this albatross around your own neck.... and be run out of politics for good.

Finally, I hope you have fun pandering to the Evangelical vote this year. I understand that *they* are now more important to you than Hillary's Women. I guess you and Mr. Obama think that they will make better bedfellows for the working class out here in the midwest.... clinging to our religion as we do.

Will you be cozying up to the NRA now, as well?

Dear Dr Dean

I traveled to DC during the RBC session thinking my presence may make a difference. Turned out, the DNC was already packed in boxes stamped "Chicago" long before that. My tenure with the ironically named Democratic party: December 15 2000 - May 31 2008 - between the 2 Florida thefts.
     You said you missed the sexism by the media in this campaign because you don't have cable - did you also miss your selected candidates playing at his rallies "99 Problems and the bitch ain't one", giving the finger and brushing his shoulders? Do you have access to you tube?
    How about entire states of Democrats being called racists? Your selected candidates didn't just called PA voters "bitter" he called them "afraid of those different from them" - an euphemism for racism - the same one he used for his grandmother. It's not an accusation easy to forgive.
     I don't know whom I'll end up voting for in November. But it's easy to see: the other parties - Green, Independent, GOP are courting my vote. DNC only hurls insults at me. It refuses to see me as a voter who's been disenfranchised, insulted and taken for granted. It paints me as some hysterical old woman who will go back to her knitting as soon as my hormones balance out (Rahm Emmanuel).
You disdain your voters at your own peril.
Good luck with those Democrats for a Day in the red states.

As a lifelong Democrat, during the beginning of the primary season, I was excited and engaged to see such a wide-open race with so many good candidates. But as the process got to April and May, and Hilary Clinton started to win primaries by 20 or 30 points while being outspent 3x, I also started to see the superdelegates, the "turncoat" endorsers, and finally the rules committee line up behind Obama, making a mockery of the Democratic process. And, I was even more disappointed to see the reputation of Bill and Hilary Clinton, two stars of the democratic party, trashed and labeled as racists, all the while Obama pretended to be running a campaign based upon hope and different politics. Its a disservice to them and all of their supporters, and you have thrown away the strongest asset of the Democratic party.

Because Obama is not part of the Democratic process and didn't rise to prominence through a lifetime of service, but instead is just a far-left creation of David Axelrod & co with no voting record and recycled speeches from other civil rights leaders, I just don't see anything there to vote far except a speech in 2004, and that's not enough for me. He's had plenty of time to define "hope" and "change" and never did, so I assume there's nothing there except some recycled class-warfare rhetoric wrapped in idealism.

The republicans did have a fair primary process, and ended up nominating a war hero with a 30+ year record and a lifetime of service, so maybe from now on I just support individual candidates instead of parties. Good job on creating 18 million McCain democrats.

I registered as a Democrat and started the college campus group Students for Carter. Since then, I have been involved in almost every major election. Being a Democratic meant standing for equality regardless of race, gender or sexual preference, and fighting against hate speech.

I listen to statements from the Obama campaign, Obama's supporters and the leaders of the new Democratic Party; these Democrats do not represent my values or ethics any longer. The new Democratic Party represents racism, sexism and hate speech. Racism, sexism and hatred is wrong. The political left does not get a pass.

The new Democratic Party has become the very nightmare it fought against for so many years.

Obama has demonstrated no leadership and has not led democrats on any issue ever. Only consistent idea he has promoted during his 15 year public life is his own candidacy for higher office. He won his delegate lead from 3% of the flawed caucus votes over 35 million votes which many democrats from various demographics couldnt attend. This system must change for the long term good of the party and the country. A vote for Obama now would be a vote for status quo of the primary process. I will note vote for Obama and hope to bring the real change needed in the primary process by the defeat of Obama

Its pure and simple....

A vote for Obama is a vote condoning:

a.  sexism;
b.  disenfranchisement;
c.  discrimination/disrespect;
d.  media bias;
e.  bias from party elders;
f.  the flawed "superdelegate" system;
g.  the flawed "everyone gets a trophy" method of    proportioning state delegates;

Dear Dr. Dean,
As a life-long Democrat it pains me to see what has happened to our party. It has always been my belief that the Democratic Party represented the people. However, the party is now an Oligarchy – a form of government where political power rests with a small elite segment of society, the DNC Leadership who has disregarded the voice of the majority of the people in this party and has chosen to tell us to vote for Obama. We did not choose him.

Eighteen million of us – the majority – voted for Hillary Clinton. We each made our own decision that Obama was NOT the person we wanted representing us as the Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party. Every time that Hillary won a primary or caucus the DNC Leadership and the biased news media told us it didn’t count – it wasn’t important. You were able to convince millions to change and vote for Obama by continually saying that Hillary wasn’t going to win. However, there were 18 million of us that couldn’t be swayed and voted for the person we felt was best to represent our party. Just think of how many votes she would have had if the DNC Leadership and the media had been neutral and allowed people to vote their mind – a landslide victory!! That is also the victory that could have happened this fall.

It appears that you feel that you can tell us who to vote for but you have overlooked the fact that 18 million of us did not fall for the DNC Leadership and media manipulation during the primaries and we will NOT be forced to vote for someone we do not support now.

With great sadness I protest the 2008 Presidential Election because I refuse to support a nominee who was chosen by the DNC leadership rather than elected by the people. The votes of a majority of Democrats were disregarded; the votes of Florida and Michigan were tampered with and delegates were divided in the most un-American manner imaginable. The situation is as bad as the Bush/Gore election – NO it is WORSE because it is within our own party. Our own DNC Leadership has done this to us – their lifelong supporters!!

I am unable to support the “democratic” nominee and I am saddened and mortified by the treatment of Hillary Clinton by the DNC Leadership.

Sincerely,
