Where We’re At

Good morning Pumas! Thank you for your patience with comment moderation as we get this site up and running. Comments are open again, though they may take a short while to appear so please be patient.

A few thoughts on where we’re at and what we need to do to. First, if you’re new here, please take a look around.  Read the “About,” “Join Us,” and “Goal” pages on the right sidebar. Many of the questions you may have about Puma PAC will probably be answered. Scroll down and read the posts to get a picture of where we came from and why. Look through the comment threads to find out what’s important to the people who are posting here. For those very, very new to blogging, if you comment on a thread that is not attached to the most recent post, you may find yourself “all alone” with no one responding to your comments. Most commenters talk on the most recent threads.

Check out the sites on our blogroll. There are only a few, and they represent some of the best writing and commenting available on the web. Truly great sites.

One last thing, we want this site to be an effective forum where anyone can join in the conversation quickly and lively, rigorous discussion can flow. For that to work we need very effective moderation. The trolls are insane. If you can contribute even a small amount of money today to help us keep this site strong and ready to receive the thousands of new users who are joining every day, please do. Every little bit helps. Really. Thank you sincerely to those who have contributed already.

NOTE: If you have sent an email to join Puma PAC, congratulations! You’re in! We will be sending out confirmations today, but don’t worry if you haven’t received one yet. The response has been tremendous. Please tell your friends and anyone like-minded to come check us out and join. Pumas may be solitary in the wild, but to be an effective protest movement in the Democratic party we need to join together. I know I’ve felt pretty solitary in the wilderness of the media’s propaganda noise machine and the Obama campaign’s hostile territory. How about you? Let us know what it’s been like to be one of 18 MILLION voters who support Hillary Clinton, more than any other in primary history, yet still somehow an isolated, hysterical holdout. How did the media and the Party do this to us? How can we make them stop? This comment thread is open to discuss that.

UPDATE 6/6/08 at 10:34am: ACTION ALERT! Please visit this Fox News “Question of the Day and tell them if you think John McCain will attract significant numbers of dissatisfied Democratic voters.

UPDATE 6/6/08 at 12:13pm: Please read the indefatigable Riverdaughter’s post at her blog The Confluence about who we are and why we’re organizing and fighting back against the DNC and the mainstream media (including many mainstream blogs, youtubes, and websites of new media). The post is titled Resolved.

UPDATE 6/6/08 at 5:46pm: Please note that comments will be held for the next 1-2 hours as we will be attending to some site housekeeping. If you don’t see your comment, it hasn’t been deleted. Held comments will be posted as soon as possible. We are keeping the comment threads in heavy moderation in order to keep trolls away (they seem a bit desperate) and to establish the welcoming and supportive tone we want here on our site. If you sent an email to join the PAC, you are now a member of Puma PAC. Welcome! Confirmation emails will be sent shortly. We will have some updates tonight, including new bumper stickers (yay!), so please stay tuned. Thank you to everyone who has joined and contributed; every little bit helps.

Just sent comments to all of the morning shows about the ‘hijacking of the press by BO and what would have happened if Hillary had done that ( see my post on calling all pumas ) and signed them all Texas PUMA :)

#2 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 8:06 am

Re-post of earlier comment on different thread

Good Morning , PUMAs !!!
Here’s an interesting read at savage politics in case you haven’t seen it yet . http://savagepolitics.com/

Let me just pose the question , What the hell do you think the press would have done to Hillary if SHE had loaded them all on to a plane – thinking she was on it – then went to a ‘ secret meeting’ ? I’m thinking kidnapping charges , first amendment violations , unlawfull imprisonment , etc. etc. The BO spokesman on the plan got a pass by saying , ” there was no intention of being deceitful .” I honestly feel that his treatment of the press is a prelude of things to come .. Personally , I am laughing my a** off and thinking , How do you like your golden boy now ???”

#3 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 8:10 am

So , let me get this straight , in his first week as PRESUMPTIVE nominee , BO has ; enlisted a known criminal to lead his veep search , Axlerod has been exposed as a LOBBYIST AGAINST HEALTH CARE , and now he has hi jacked the media ???!!! I am giggling like a school girl ! Does anyone else hear the Jeopardy theme song when thinking about Obama ??? :)

#4 Debbie - Philly on 06.06.08 at 8:17 am

Murphy, are you only accepting electronic donations? Or can money orders be sent as well.

#5 Debbie - Philly on 06.06.08 at 8:20 am

As I learn more about Obama, I am just further convinced that he is a fraud. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Sadly the press will now do it’s job AFTTER they forced Hillary out of the race. If they were doing their job before he would not be the nominee.

#6 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 8:25 am

The press has been doing what they were PAID to do up to now . Throughout the entire campaign , CNN had a link to Obama’s website on their HOMEPAGE !! I think now that they are off the payroll , they will be seeing a different side , and , maybe, they will allow the rest of America to see it as well.

I know there are only a couple of us on here so early . I have been trying to post a link on hrc , but I can’t get posted there anymore – even though I have blogged , donated , called etc. throughout the entire election …. Anyway , I wanted to throw something out for any conspiracy theorists to feed on – is it a coincidence that ,at the same time as the Clinton – Obama meeting last night – the Bilderberg Group was also meeting in the area ?

#10 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 8:58 am

Barrack Obama opened an event yesterday in southwestern Virginia saying: “I’m proud of America for giving me this opportunity.”

Obama’s statement epitomizes the appalling arrogance that the Michelle and Barry team bring to the political landscape. This inexperienced twit insults all of us by the underlying racism that his remark exposes. A truly post-race candidate would have said “I am humbled by the honor this great country has given me.” Obama can not say that because he is not humbled, however, it looks as if he will be with Michelle on his team.

Ask not who Obama (either Michelle or Barry) is proud of, ask can America be proud of the elitist/racist pair that believes there is such a thing as “the typical white person.”

#12 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 9:08 am

Murphy, great website.
I will be sending in a contribution soon. I donated as much as I could to Hillary in hope that she would stay in the race.

#13 Debbie - Philly on 06.06.08 at 9:08 am

I was reading on another site the Obama supporters, uncommitted delegates and even some of Hillary’s supporters (backstabbers!!!!) decided they would not support her at the convention. Told her she had to get out ASAP. The Obama campaign also helped to perpetuate the lie that she wanted the VP spot although they knew she had made no mention of it. I can’t believe how they have villified her. Bastards! I hope someone writes an expose on the DNC and the Obama campaign. As for Bilderberg Group, I put discount any conspiracy theory at this point. Look at how our candidate has been treated. It doesn’t matter what she does because they will trash her. Okay, I need to drop for a bit. My work day has begun :O). Will be back online later. BTW Murphy, I love this blog. It’s so nice to be among fellow supporters.

#14 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 9:13 am

yeah . Big fat ‘Texas P.U.M.A.’ comment posted on gretawire :) Go Pumas !

#15 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 9:14 am

Also, I saw these comments posted on Taylor Marsh regarding why the DNC didn’t back Hillary.

http://www.taylormarsh.com/comments.php?postID=278...

I really hope everyone on this website is sincere about doing something to stop Obama’s machine while meeting the other goals (which are very good).

We have to start action now, and maintain that level of commitment throughout the general election and thereafter.

#16 ginainkc on 06.06.08 at 9:17 am

The Axelrod revelations, while not surprising, are sickening. The blatant hypocrisy of the Obama campaign never fails to amaze me.

The fact that the story broke through Newsweek is encouraging. It looks like the MSM’s corporate masters have finally decided to release the hounds.

#17 carol saxe buda on 06.06.08 at 9:23 am

How many of us are there? The press is minimizing the numbers. How many have joined this blog?

#18 HillarywasROBBED on 06.06.08 at 9:29 am

“The Axelrod revelations, while not surprising, are sickening. The blatant hypocrisy of the Obama campaign never fails to amaze me.”

I KNOW turns my stomach too! WELL apparently OBAMA and his people are all over the NET, and they have SEEN this site and others! THEY have BEGGED HRC to a meeting incognito! NOW they CARE what we think! NOW they want to USE us all for our VOTES in November and wipe their behinds on us like a bear rubs against a tree in the woods! WELL GUESS WHAT????? SORRY DNC! I am DONE at least this ELECTION year! I am not voting for that lying, underhanded, unelectable, arrogant, racist, bigotted, “we need hope and change” no real substance empty suit! Did I cover it all? I know how someone above mentioned Rezko! CAN you believe it! OBAMA was wrapped up in his business deals for SEVENTEEN YEARS! AND he is “innocent”! HUH? If that had been HRC and Bill they would have been IMPEACHED over it! Remember that ONE photo the OBAMA CAMP kept circulating of Rezko at a CLINTON fundraiser standing with Hill and Bill and they DIDN’T even know the dude! Only that he had paid the money to attend the fundraiser! AND yet all the rumors tried to “link” them somehow. Interesting enough that Obama’s own mansion was purchased at the same time slumlord Rezko bought the ajoining lots! I am DONE…STICK a FORK in ME….I am getting MCCAIN DEMOCRAT stickers and shirts printed today!

#19 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 9:36 am

I agree ginainkc . I think this is just the tip of the iceberg . It will be interesting to see if the media will actually run with all that is being revealed now .. I hope they’re hungry because crow is going to be on their menu! Hmm – MSNBC just said that the candidates met in Va. last night …. see Bilderberg link on # 10 :) lol I just love stirring the pot – sorry ..

#20 HillarywasROBBED on 06.06.08 at 9:39 am

“I really hope everyone on this website is sincere about doing something to stop Obama’s machine while meeting the other goals (which are very good).

We have to start action now, and maintain that level of commitment throughout the general election and thereafter.”

Sunny: HOPEFULLY, no one will mistake us for the Obama BOTS and the bandwagon delegates who deserted Hillary but NOW they need HER, for her endorsement and NOW they NEED us for our vote! I will print what you said and stick it to my frig, the coffee pot and inside my closet and on my mirror! I KNOW they THINK by November this will all have blown over! I am not going to watch HRC endorse this creep! I know they are all leaning on her to do it. I would rather keep in mind how she FOUGHT an uphill battle while the MEDIA and the OBAMA camp and the CARNIVAL Celebs in Hollywood already had this guy as the nominee!!!! WE have got to remain focused and without caving in. John McCain is a confident choice because he says he will focus on the economy, a successful completion to Iraq, and the GAS PRICES!!! NO OBAMA ever! AND MURPHY thanks! I hope they don’t come after you….I already had over 3 questions off the YAHOO WEB BOARD deleted without anyone even sending me any “violations”! All the questions were geared at Clinton supporters going to McCain! AND WHOA the response was HUGE! SO many people are going to McCain! I had over 45 responses of people going to McCain because the illegal moves of the DNC! Like many have said Obama was SELECTED not ELECTED! You know this entire thing was high jacked, my mother who is 73 years old said it use to be that the the convention was when you decided a nominee! She remembers listening to FDR on the radio as a little girl! SHE IS SO DONE TOO! NO OBAMA NOT NOW, NOT EVER!

#21 Pm on 06.06.08 at 9:39 am

Can you post the ‘MCCAIN DEMOCRAT’ sticker art so we can print our own? Oh wait, I’m independent now. How about non-Obamaton or ex-democrat stickers?

#22 mcr on 06.06.08 at 9:39 am

Our postings about NBC/MSNBC/CNN biases (on this and other blogs) have yielded results. Fox News is ahead in the ratings. Bill O’ announced this last night. I have stopped watching NBC/MSNBC/CNN.

#23 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 9:43 am

Joe Leiberman has started a group in his support of John McCain. It would help to join for solidarity to defeat Obama. I actually like what he’s saying… “for anyone who puts country before party affiliation”.

http://citizens.johnmccain.com/

#24 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 9:49 am

Hold on – I don’t want to sound like a spoiler , and I will NEVER vote for Obama , but ,as far as going for MCCain already , I have not given up on Hillary yet ! Call me a pathetic optimist , but this is far from over . There IS no nominee until the convention , and a LOT can happen between now and then . Besides , isn’t our 1st. goal to support the candidacy of Hillary Clinton ?

#25 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 9:51 am

Goals :

1. To support the candidacy of Hillary Clinton

2. To lobby and organize for changes in leadership in the DNC

3. To critique and oppose the misogyny, discrimination, and disinformation in the mainstream media, including mainstream blogs and other outlets of new media

4. To support the efforts of those political figures who have allied themselves with Hillary Clinton and who have demonstrated commitment to our first three goals

#26 murphy on 06.06.08 at 9:52 am

SunnyPA — Respectfully, I don’t agree. Lining up with the Republicans will diffuse our power overnight. Our overriding goal is to reform the Democratic party and get it back for us — the true, huge base of coalition voters who put presidents in office.
For this presidential election, Pumas will make different choices on how to vote, depending on where they live and what their priorities are. Some will stay home. Some will vote 3rd party. Some will write-in Hillary (Be careful! make sure of the election law in your state if you plan to do this. Many states automatically give democratic write-in to the nominee, so you may be voting for Obama if you write in Hillary.). And many, many will vote for John McCain. Votes for McCain by Pumas are Strategic — they dont represent a sudden true love for Republicans or Reoublican values, far from it.
One thing for sure — no Pumas will be voting for Obama. These are strategic decisions, part of our overall plan to protest and hold accountable the DNC bunglers who brought this debacle down on our heads. We cant join the Republican party, no way. But we will be making it clear to Howard Dean and everyone who will listen that in this country, voting is private and secret. Millions of us intend to vote McCain to make sure we are never dismissed so despicably again.

#27 Pm on 06.06.08 at 10:00 am

Got the letter from Double Dealing Dean. Don’t be fooled. There’s still PAC money flowing to Obama. They are now called ‘$28,500 a plate dinners’.
It makes me sick that we’re now seeing politicians & pundits saying we’re a lunatic fringe, that Obama has signed up millions of new democrats, so to lose the ‘few’ that leave the party over Hillary is no great loss! That’s worse than saying we’ll ‘fall in line’ in the fall.
I’ve got my tickets to Denver, the Denver march is being organised at:
http://clintondems.com/2008/06/million-women-march-rise-hillary-rise-website/
Love the site Murphy. Going to the donation page now.

#28 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 10:02 am

I better understand what you’re saying, Murphy. And, trust me, I do not have a instant love of republicans. However, I have always been a bipartisan voter. I believe in voting for the person not the party. So, I guess that’s why Leiberman speaks to me.

I try to stay on track with the website goals. Still, I like how you corrected me.

Great moderating job!

#29 HillarywasROBBED on 06.06.08 at 10:03 am

“Millions of us intend to vote McCain to make sure we are never dismissed so despicably again.”

EXACTLY! THIS is ABOUT STOPPING this FROM ever happening again! AND restoring the DNC to the VOTERS! IF we allow Obama to go to the WHITEHOUSE that will only REINFORCE what was done to us! AND to Hillary Rodaham Clinton! A vote for McCain is a VOTE in PROTEST against what happened that was unconstitutional! AND it is a VOTE to PROTECT our CHILDREN from EVER having to experience something in AMERICA like this! OBAMA when he loses will realize that HE was WRONG and NOT READY and that he COST FOUR MORE YEARS to the DEMOCRATIC PARTY! He is now grubbling to gain votes. IT will NOT happen! HE is using her and us…IF he was to get in we are LOOKING at EIGHT YEARS, CLINTON does not have that time to wait and neither does the good of America! DO you ALL know that the OBAMA SUPPORTERS BELIEVE he WILL STILL WIN WITHOUT US? CAN you believe the AUDACITY of these people!

#30 mcr on 06.06.08 at 10:04 am

Re: Write-ins
I checked the regs for write-in for the state in which I live, and called the Sec. of State. I was told I may vote for any candidate even though I am a “democrat.” (I was told that only in the primary must I declare my party.)

#33 W. Lotus on 06.06.08 at 10:20 am

I’m glad to have found this site. It’s encouraging to read what other people have to say in support of Senator Clinton and to realize many, many other people see through the slick facade Obama has put on in order to appeal to so many people.

I became discouraged as the primary season progressed, because so many otherwise intelligent people I know were ensorceled by him. They, in turn, questioned my commitment to the issues when I let them know I was not taken in by Obama’s pretty words. Now they are telling me I need to “get in line” and there is no conspiracy in how things were handled. To come here and be encouraged that I am not crazy and not imagining things helps a lot.

I’ve been pointing my friends and associates here, and they have thanked me for putting them in contact with others who feel the same as they do. I’m passing on that thanks to you, for providing a safe place for us to continue to educate ourselves on the issues and on what we can do, without being battered by dissenters, which just adds insult to injury.

#34 murphy on 06.06.08 at 10:21 am

SunnyPA, you’re welcome! The internet is a great invention. It levels space and time. Makes the formerly isolated and vulnerable united and powerful.

This is the queston:
Will John McCain be able to attract a significant number of Hillary Clinton supporters to his campaign?

#37 murphy on 06.06.08 at 10:34 am

Please click on Rosemay’s link to the fox news poll. Tell them McCain will most definitely be attracting voters from Obama. The results so far tell the Puma story.

#38 W. Lotus on 06.06.08 at 10:45 am

I’ve been researching how write-in votes are handled by the New York State Board of Elections; I intend to write in Senator Clinton as my candidate for president, if she does not receive the Democratic nomination. Sections 6-153 and 9-206 of the election law say that write-in candidates for president and vice president have to file a certificate of candidacy by the third Tuesday prior to the General Election, and any write-in vote cast for someone who has not so filed will be counted as a void vote. Does that mean Senator Clinton would have to file a new certificate, or does her paperwork filed for the primary count for the general election?

#39 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 10:45 am

Thanks rosemay ! Voted and tried to post the link on hrc

My husband just e-mailed me at work…. he was in USA Today site…. check this out!!! really interesting..

USA TODAY’s issues game lets you compare your views with those of Barack Obama and John McCain.

#41 greenfun on 06.06.08 at 10:50 am

Loving this site!!!!!!
I had the pleasure of unsubscribing to the Democratic party’s email requesting money yesterday. I gave them an earful in the space where they ask you why you have made this decision.
Does anyone have info regarding moveon.org and Obama’s fundraising. I heard that they were involved in his donations to superdelegates.

#42 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 10:52 am

W.lotus , she would have to file a new one . The last filing was for the primary . If she wants to be on the GE ballot she has to file . This is the case in several states .

#43 Firefly on 06.06.08 at 10:56 am

Thank you for letting me in on your website. Although I am non-American, I am totally interested in the dynamics of American politics. I used to : subscribe to American news magazines and watch/listen to political pundits on CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews etc. But not anymore because I was overwhelmed by the meanness and viciousness of the attacks launched by some journalists and talking heads in those mainstream media against Sen. Hillary Clinton. I have cancelled my subscription to Time – can’t stomach Maureen Dowd’s foul mouth and Newsweek. I am also offended by the humor of that guy from Saturday Night Live (who hosted the Oscar some three years ago-sorry can’t remember his name).

I turned to the Internet to get what I thought would be more balanced opinion and was swamped by the hate-mongering mass of Obama supporters. Couldn’t believe Americans could be so nasty. What kind of “uniter” would attract so many “divisive creatures”.?

Although I have absolutely no stake in the outcome of your elections, somehow I am as angry as you may be about the antics of what you call Obamites in the blogs I have visited. Enough of them. Have deleted their sites from my bookmark.

Thank you for setting up PUMA. Now, I am able to go to links that are sane and balanced. I am enlightened also by the articles written by Froma Harrop of Rasmussen Reports.

I wish you the best. More power to you and may you succeed in your worthy endeavor.

#44 murphy on 06.06.08 at 11:04 am

Thanks for the kind words Firefly. Welcome.

One of the greatest tragedies of the disastrous Bush administration, and its legacy, is how America’s image in the world has been damaged.

The greatest hope of many millions of Americans who support Hillary is that we believe she is the only candidate who is capable of beginning (and leading) the restoration of our country’s good name around the world.

The usurpation of the nomination by a few DNC leaders and the Obama campaign adds a very painful insult to our already injured national soul.

#45 picklebird on 06.06.08 at 11:06 am

I’d like to ask the group what will you do if Hillary becomes Blah-blahbama’s running mate. Will you vote for them as a team?

#47 W. Lotus on 06.06.08 at 11:20 am

I went to the Fox News poll and voted for McCain.

Can anyone help me understand this section of NYS Election Law?

“Each vote cast for the candidates of any party or independent body for president and vice president of
the United States and each vote cast for any write-in candidates for such offices shall be deemed to be cast for the candidates for elector of such party or independent body or the candidates for elector named in the certificate of candidacy of such write-in candidates. [Election Law Section 12-100]”

To me that says that if Senator Clinton filed her paperwork as a democratic candidate for president, any write-in votes cast for her will go to the democratic party, thus to Obama. That is *not* what I would intend by writing her name in. Am I correctly interpreting the law?

#48 W. Lotus on 06.06.08 at 11:21 am

Thank you, TexasTigress. I hope she will file new paperwork for the GE!

#49 formerdem on 06.06.08 at 11:28 am

I voted for Hillary on the first day of Florida’s two-week early voting period. If the DNC and the state of Florida cared about the voting rights of Democrats and Floridians, they could have resolved their issues before January. Neither did. Charlie Crist and the Republican legislature paid for a two-week election, so they could lure people to the polls under false pretenses to vote for Crist’s property tax amendment. Howard Dean endorsed BO from the start and had no intention of doing the right thing for Democrats in Florida or Michigan. He is not a statesman, and I wish he would be removed from his position and exposed for what he is–a master manipulator. We were all encouraged to vote–people were standing at all the local libraries with signs for all candidates, and all names were on the ballots. No one turned us away. I have been a life long yellow dog Democrat, originally from the “bitter” state of Pennsylvania. One of the reasons I was a Democrat was to speak up and support the rights of all people, including minorities. After seeing what has transpired here in Florida and with the unethical, disgraceful way Obama, the media, and the DNC have treated Hillary Clinton and voters, I will never vote Democratic again and will never vote period in the state of Florida. I truly believe Obama and his wife are racists and anti semites, and I look forward to reading what others say on this site.

#50 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 11:32 am

TexasTigress, you are awesome. Thanks for all the info. I am trying to get caught up this morning, but I have this thing called work I am supposed to do to. As if I could concentrate. I also have donated throughout the campaign and can’t get posted on HRC’s website. What’s the deal? I will try to send her a note too. God please tell me that she will not be VP. Wasn’t there some secret meeting between them? Isn’t the word that Michelle said no way to HRC being VP? Sorry I am so out of the loop and probably asking dumb questions. Glad to see posts and to feel connected to this community!

Please think before you decide to vote for McCain. The Supreme court decisions he may make if he becomes president could have massive effects on women’s issues and rights
Thanks

#53 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 11:33 am

W. Lotus – I think you are correctly interpreting the law. I have seen elsewhere that write in is NOT the way to go because it counts as a vote for the party nominee. Once again, why our party system is completely NOT for the people but for party bosses.

#54 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 11:37 am

kacky, thanks for the post. I agree 100% on the S Ct issue. Remember Stevens has been waiting to retire so another S CT slot will come open as soon as the next person is elected I am guessing.

I am trying to tell people that too. Folks, go to http://www.ontheissues.org. great analysis of the candidates and their histories. I think the Green Party is the way to vote if we can’t get HRC, but I’m open to other suggestions. I don’t think she can go independent legally this term. I think she has to be the Dem nominee OR we DO NOT get to vote for her effectively. PLEASE DON’T VOTE MCCAIN. But feel free to threaten that we will!

Thoughts on the media.

One thing that we have discovered during this media is that while it is powerful, its power has limits. All the media smearing of Hillary didn’t stop over 17 million people from voting for her.

It’s tempting to try to get media attention or to feel that we’ve somehow succeeded if we do attract media attention. I think the real success of this blog and movement will be in communicating with each other and with the “leaders” [eyeroll] in the Democratic Party.

So don’t let lack of media coverage or stoopid media coverage discourage you. The media frequently has a narrative they are pushing and if we do not fit into that narrative, they’ll either ignore us or MAKE us fit.

Onwards!

my family & I have thought long and hard about voting for Mccain as a last resort
1. Staying home is not an option(this helps NOBAMA)
2. write ins not an option (most states dont allow) and if its done will count for the BO kool~aide drinkers
3. We know where Mccain comes from & what he stands for & he’s more moderate than most repubs
4. with the mojority in the senate & house we can limit any possible damage done
5. roe~v~wade is being used as a scare tactic it will never happen plus the senate would have to approve any supreme court justice appointed and they wont if that justice is not moderate
6. a mccain vote means obambi needs 2 votes to counter it
7. HILLARY as VP stinks as she would not be able to run effectively in 2012 against an incumbent if Nobama wins

in essence we are stuck between a rock and a hard spot
we do have to get organized and take action en masse for it to have any effect

I’m not giving up on HILLARY YET!
We have till August to change the minds of supers

RE: Post # #44 ‘The greatest hope of many millions of Americans who support Hillary is that we believe she is the only candidate who is capable of beginning (and leading) the restoration of our country’s good name around the world.’

Hillary already HAS a great, and in some places revered, image around the world. The rebound of our world image would be almost instant! She and Bill have been villified HERE, but The rest of the world rejects their character assasinations by the Obamatons, they see the truth better than the Obamatons here at home!

RE: #45 picklebird-’I’d like to ask the group what will you do if Hillary becomes Blah-blahbama’s running mate. Will you vote for them as a team?’

I will not vote for Obama no matter who is at the bottom of the ticket. VP’s, especially Hillary, are marginalized and ignored. It’s an insult that the one who won the popular vote would be put on the bottom of the ticket. Her political career is being threatened if she doesn’t play ball. It’s time we threaten the political careers of the ones who threw her under the bus. That’s why a vote for McCain will make the biggest impact.

my family & I will not vote for that ticket either it is tieing HILLARY’S hands behind her back and sticking her in a sack she’ll be blamed for all Nobama’s failing also

Hillary has to play ball for the moment and keep her word so be prepared and stand strong.
HILLARY is 1000% integrity and will keep her word to campaign her heqrt out for whoever is the DNC’c nominee

but that dont mean her 18 MILLION fans have to vote for him

#62 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 11:54 am

Thanks for the comments on why voting McCain is good. It’s really a struggle with me right now. I can only deal with it by going back to how I felt yesterday afternoon when I was the happiest I was all week reading all these inspiring words from you all – I can’t give up on Hillary. She is my President.

#63 TexasTigress on 06.06.08 at 12:00 pm

My favorite quote from this NYT article : If the general election were held today, Mr. Obama would win 252 electoral votes as the Democratic nominee, while Mrs. Clinton would win 295. In other words, Barack Obama is losing to John McCain, and Hillary Clinton is beating him.

This was an early morning post on our hrc….
Some inside information, maybe just rumor

someone posted this on taylormarsh. it explains so well about what happened in the past few days.

“Basically, on Tuesday Hillary spent the day at home calling superdelegates. In doing so, she discovered that Obama supporters, Uncommitted supers and a few of her supporters had essentially made a pact with the DNC that they would not support Hillary at the convention. She was essentially told that she needed to get out of the race asap. Someone told the press that she was going to get out last night, but Hillary didn’t want to exit the race when someone else told her to do it (the media) and instead, decided she would exit on her own time, under her conditions. I think it was her last opportunity to actually call her own shots versus having the DNC, party officials and media do it. In fact, during the meeting today, she joked that she had realized that she wanted to be a person who “talked for a living”, as you always had work and the things you said didn’t even have to be true.

Anyway, apparently, the idea that Obama isn’t going to be able to win the nomination came up while talking to the DNC/supers and the response she received was that Obama brought in a lot of new Democratic voters (and ultimately, a lot of new Democratic money) and thus, while the party might lose the election in the short term (the presidential election, that is), the long term would be good, as the party would have lots of new voters and money.

The belief was that even though Obama might not be able to win the presidency, the fact that he had “all these new voters” would help to ensure that the party won the congressional and senatorial seats in play in November. I asked if Hillary had read the comments posted by her supporters and was told that she did and that if she felt she could win the election (garner the superdelegate support at the convention), she would have stayed in the race. However , the DNC and supers made it very clear to her that they would not support her and that she needed to get out.

It’s his agenda. I can’t go for that.

“Overturning Roe v. Wade

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.”

with that being said mccain was asked that question directly and he said quote”I will not appoint scj just on their beliefs that roe~v~wade must be overturned” “I will appoint scj that are fair and free to interpet the constitution as a rule of law that is fair and equal to all citizens of this great country with men, women & children all being equal”

If I may be so bold , and , hopefully not offend anyone , but I know that there are a LOT of bloggers out there for the Republicans who are desperately trying to get our votes . I , however will NOT support or endorse ANYONE other than Hillary Clinton until after the convention . Until that time , I will work as hard as I can to see that the truth about Obama is revealed , and the injustice that has been done to Sen. Clinton and 18 million supporters is rectified . I have gone to the extent of telling my Democratic State reps. who are running for office here in Texas that I will be supporting their opponents in the election in protest of the actions of the DNC , but as far as the Presidential GE , I stand by Hillary , and ONLY Hillary until the presumptive nominee becomes the official nominee IF that happens , or until hell freezes over if he is exposed and ran out of town .

My response to the OBAMBOTS that keep saing we broke the rules is this.

1. America was founded by breaking the rules
2. Abraham Lincoln broke the rules and signed the Amancipation proclamation
3. He broke the rules again when he declared war on ourselves to make sure all people were free
4. The underground railroad broke the rules to free many and save lives
5. We broke the rules so black men could vote & won in 1840
6. Women’s suffrage broke the rules and women won the right to vote in 1920
7. Desgregation broke the rules so all go use all bathrooms etc etc & won
8. Rosa Parks broke the rules when she refused to give up her seat on the bus & won

Just a couple examples here breakin the rules in the name of justice & equality but the list can go on and on.

I submit to you, AMERICA & THE WORLD that anything that means supporting truth, justice, equality & representation for all is BREAKING THE RULES but Our GREAT COUNTRY was founded on these very beliefs.

“This SWEETIE, REFUSES to go sit QUIETLY in the back of the BUS”
“We will NOT go QUIETLY into the GOODNIGHT”
“We are 18 MILLION voices that cant be SILENCED if we STAND our GROUND”
“We need to get organized & reach out to the millions who do not have internet access and bring them with us”
“We need lawyers to volunteer”
“We need to keep our GRASSROOTS INTACT”
“WE ARE MEN,WOMEN & CHILDREN OVER 18 MILLION STRONG HEAR OUR ROOAARRRRR!!”

Thank you for this site!

I thought I was all alone.

It is nice to be among Hillary supporters. I am honored to be among supporters who don’t engage in hate speech and threats of violence against our opponents. I remain appalled at the viciousness of the Obummer supporters. ‘Like attracts like’ is my observation, and I am fearful of that evil machinery.

Someone earlier in this thread stated that they would protest by casting their vote as they choose. I’m 100% on board with this and if enough of us cast votes against Obummer or stay home in protest then he will lose in November and we will have triumphed with grace and dignity. This assumes that we are not able to vote for Hillary of course.

Here’s hoping that Hillary will get the nomination. Go Hillary! Storm Denver.

Agree with your strategy whole heartedly. We need to remain calm and focused on our missions. And until the die is cast in August (or not), we must stick to our guns and try with all our might to keep fighting for Hill to become our nominee. In the mean time, change from Democrat to Independant, send a copy of your new voter registration card along with your DNC resignation letter to the DNC offices. And DO NOT DONATE any money to the DNC or any affiliated committees or organizations. Keep the pressure on them. BOYCOTT the media and their advertisers. Spread the word to other blogs about P.U.M.A. and our mission. Then in September, if the DNC forces us to do it, we’ll go full bore toward making BO and the DNCs lives miserable in November!!! 50 state LOSS!!!!

By the way, does anyone know of where we can get a list of advertisers for CNN and MSNBC?

#85 gokimfrommichigan on 06.06.08 at 1:09 pm

Instead of donating to McCain just yet…. posted by 1950democrat

Imo the best way to show the DNC and SDs and media that we’re serious about a vote strike against Obama, is to donate some money somewhere. But donating to McCain at this point has some problems:

1. What if Hillary gets the nomination after all? Then our donations would go to help McCain campaign against her!

2. How can we prove to the DNC, SDs, and media that we really did donate to McCain? The DNC etc will just tear up and ignore any receipts we send. The GOP is not going to do our bookkeeping on this; they are sweet-talking us, but they won’t tabulate donations and release statements that would help Hillary get the nomination. We need a fund to donate to that will release totals, er, periodically.

Finally someone is doing that: an official legal ‘PAC’. It’s a group that’s pro-Hillary and pro-vote-strike, even promoting voting for McCain over Obama.

It’s called PUMA — Party Unity My Ass! The site for donating is

Something that is bothering me, and I am wondering if it has anything to do with my very vocal support of Hillary. I keep keeping calls from a cell phone number in NY, NY. The number is 646-330-4314. I got one as I was typing the last entry here. I answered this time, and no one was there. Anyway, long story short.

There was a charge to my credit card for more than $1,000, the other charge was for more than $4,000. My credit card company did not honor those charges, but I would have been in a world of hurt if they had.

At first, I thought these were not malicious toward me, just fraudulent people doing illegal things and using computers to do so. I am thinking now that it may be related to my support for Hillary. There are some reasons that I am now leaning toward this theory.

My question is here, is anyone else who are supporters of Hillary having similar experiences? And, is there anyway to find out the owner of this NY NY number, as I could be wrong and if wrong, I would be most humble and apologetic?

Hi fellow Pumas! I’ve been busy today.

I used the postage paid envelope for a solicitation from the DSCC to send them a piece of my mind. It felt good to let them know that I will be voting for John McCain for president.

I then wrote Hillary a thank-you card as suggested by redtumble.

Been listening to the news today. I’m furious that the party freaks are dictating to Hillary how she should step down. Sounds like they even want to write her speech so it glorifies the King of Arugula. They just can’t stop humiliating her. I’m so damned pissed!

Murphy, thank you for starting this site! I am so relieved that there are others like me who are so outraged that they don’t want to let this go. I also read the post at Taylor Marsh that gokimfrommichigan reposted and it just hit me in the gut. The fact that SD’s banded together to refuse to back Hillary – even though they know Obama will lose – is just despicable! And they did it for the supposed money Obama will bring them (I think they are going to be disappointed when they find out it was really disguised Wall Street backers all along). To me, they James Carville was right. They sold out the party base for 30 pieces of silver.

I’ve been thinking about this since I read it yesterday. Somehow, we need to make these facts very public. The whole world needs to know what the Democratic Party did and how they fixed this election. A good start is what Murphy recommended above – keep contacting SD’s. I think a lot of us should include in our letters to them exactly what we know happened. Let them know that we are onto their election fixing and that we are going to scream it far and wide. (I wonder what the mindless Obamabots would think if they knew that the party itself expects Obama to lose). I really wish we had a copy of that email so we could flood the media with it. Not that anyone but Fox would report it.

#111 antifish on 06.06.08 at 3:24 pm

“As Mrs. Clinton prepared to formally endorse his candidacy on Saturday, Mr. Obama said the Democratic National Committee would no longer accept donations from federal lobbyists or political action committees. He said he would keep Howard Dean as the national chairman, but was deploying his own advisers to oversee party operations”

He can do this? Just because he’s the presumptive nominee? Has anyone ever taken over the party like this before? What if he loses? What is happening here, a coup? Someone please explain this to me. I’m getting very nervous!

#112 PA4HILL08 on 06.06.08 at 3:46 pm

Ok, here’s my letter that I just sent to the Hillary’s committed super delegates in PA through lobbydelegates.com. Feel free to use it, alter it, or abuse it! ;)

—————————-

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic Party nomination for the Presidency of the United States. I hope you will continue to support her throughout the remaining months and through the Democratic Convention in August 2008.

Senator Clinton has fought extremely hard throughout the primaries and has brought to her a broad coalition of voters that the Democratic Party must honor and respect going forward. This coalition includes a majority of women, blue-collar workers, Hispanics, Catholics, and others who’ve been loyal voters for the Party for some time now. However, many of these voters are now feeling disenfranchised from the very Party to which they’ve remained so loyal by the way in which this primary season has played out. They are dismayed at the vengeance with which the mainstream media attacked Senator Clinton repeatedly, and yet no one from the DNC or the Party elite stepped forward to push back against this outrageous display. And then the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee actually going against their own Charter and rules to actually take delgates from Senator Clinton and give Senator Obama delegates that he had not earned in MI, was perhaps the final straw for many of Senator Clinton’s supporters. As a result, many of these supporters are threatening to stay home or vote for Senator McCain in November.

Therefore, I urge you as a super delegate to continue your support for Senator Clinton through the Denver Convention in August. We need your support and the support of your constituencies to help Senator Clinton keep her pledge to all of us on her strong platform of achieving universal health care for our nation. As a staunch supporter of Senator Clinton myself, I have also urged her to take a stand on major primary voting reform within the Party, and I would hope that you would do the same. This primary season has resulted in a divided Party, not because of anything Senator Clinton or Senator Obama did, but due to the bizarre way that the Party has chosen to run it’s nominating process. To have an election result so close at the end, nearly divided down the middle, and then to have it decided by a group of Party officials and not by the people actually voting, is what caused this division. And the process simply needs to be changed so this never, ever happens again.

I believe that Senator Clinton said it best during her speech on Tuesday, June 3 2008. She wants the 18 million people who voted for her, people from all walks of life, classes, religions, races, and cultures, to be honored and respected. That has always been a basic Democratic Party principle – inclusion, diversity, and count every vote – and she was right in expressing it. That is exactly what we should be fighting for as a Party.

I thank you for your time and your consideration of this matter. I hope that you will remain steadfast to Senator Clinton through August. We need her as a nation to continue fighting for universal health care for our citizens. And she needs you to support her in that mission.

Is Puma also sort of a double entendre, since a Puma is the same thing as a Cougar, and most of us are older ladies?

Seducing Howard Dean with our feminine wiles? Yeah, I haven’t really developed the analogy fully….

Let us take up the mantle for equality for women that Susan B Anthony did not live to see.March 3, 1903 in the NY Times is Susan B. Anthony’s obituary and added information from AnnaShaw. This came from the Library of Congress.
“Miss Anthony herself had believed that she would recover. Early in her illness she told her friends that she expected to live to be as old as her father, who was over 90 when he died. But on Wednesday she said to her sister:

“Write to Anna Shaw immediately, and tell her I desire that every cent I leave when I pass out of this life shall be given to the fund which Miss Thomas and Miss Garrett are raising for the cause. I have given my life and all I am to it, and now I want my last act to be to give it all I have, to the last cent. Tell Anna Shaw to see that this is done.”

Miss Shaw said:

“On Sunday, about two hours before she became unconscious, I talked with Miss Anthony, and she said: ‘To think I have had more than sixty years of hard struggle for a little liberty, and then to die without it seems so cruel.”

Let’s liberate Susan B. Anthony, some 105 years later – even if only symbolically.

Hello, all. This seems like a good site with reasonable posters. I just wanted to echo antifish’s sentiments here–isn’t the presumptive nominee assuming a bit too much presumptive power? I had this same question at the time of the re-vote negotiations for MI and FL. The way it was reported sounded as if Obama had the ultimate veto power which squelched that possibility. Thanks Cognitive Dissonance for your interesting and thoughtful post–all of this does very suspect. Reminds me of “All the King’s Men”

#118 AnnieR on 06.06.08 at 4:10 pm

Antifish (108)-

I just went over to Huff Post, and it is ALL about continuing to smear Hillary and Bill Clinton. And the top “story” is about how McCain’s polling is down in the working class/female demographic. Talk about sore winners…UNBELIEVABLE! I doubt I will be watching any news for a while, the piling on is incredible. OTOH, I think they are scared of the PUMA movement.

Another interesting article from the National Review:

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=M2QwNDAyNzAzMmJkZGRjNjk0ODhiYjIzNTllZTY5YmI

Excerpt: ‘There are two disturbing—and now predictable—patterns to Obama’s serial distancing from prior intimates. First, the post facto embarrassment is personalized in terms of “I” and “me,” as if a Wright or Rezko is somehow doing something out of character aimed at Obama, rather than persisting in entirely predictable behavior that offends society at large. Thus in reaction to the racist Wright, we get “That’s a show of disrespect to me,” while Pfleger’s venom prompts, “I am deeply disappointed in Father’s Pfleger.” But the issue is racial hatred, not a matter of pleasing or respecting Obama himself…’

Enjoy!

#122 LouiseNY on 06.06.08 at 4:24 pm

You know, I’m still very dubious about lining up behind John McCain. I realize we’re threatening to vote for him in order to get leverege with the DNC, but the more I look at his record, the more nervous I am (as a feminist) that we might actually help him get elected.

Not only has John McCain been given a zero rating by NARAL every year from 2000-2007, he has opposed legislation protecting women from discrimination and retaliation, AND he blames women for the pay gap!!

This guy is too much. If we are really committed to combatting misogyny and sexism and supporting Hillary, then I think we seriously need to reevaluate throwing all our support behind John McCain’s extremely poor record on women’s issues.

There’s got to be another way to get our voices heard….

They should be scared of the PUMA movement. We are growing quickly. I hope that we can make a difference.

I have been registered as an Independent for many years now, but have always voted Democrat. That will change if Hillary is not the nominee. I also will not vote Democrat if Hillary is VP. As one post so aptly put it, it is beneath her dignity to iron his shirts. I am tired of women being treated as third class citizens.

My vote for McCain is not a threat.

It’s Hillary or McCain for me – McCain out of protest and as a vote AGAINST that evil person. My vote is the only way I have to actively fight and make a stand. As I said before, I can work to fight against oppression, but fighting evil is entirely another matter.

#126 murphy on 06.06.08 at 4:34 pm

Lori,
Done. Thank you for the wonderful links. I will email you offline to talk about taking you up on the offer.

We really are grassroots here. This is not astroturfing. We are a legitimate 527 organization, filed with the FEC etc., But we’re still starting out. We are not connected in any official or unofficial way with any other groups, including any campaigns, blogs, or other 527’s. The largest contribution to date has been $50. And that’s great! I wouldn’t want it any other way. Pumas are fiercely independent after all.

All contributions are very welcome. No money goes to me or any individual person. It goes directly to a paypal account in Puma PAC’s name. Funds can only be disbursed for official Puma PAC activities. All of our activities and organizing efforts are strictly by the book.

Just in case anyone was wondering. I want to be as clear and transparent as I can. We are really very grateful for all the response and true unity here — and for those who have been able to contribute already.

Hi everyone,

It’s great to find this site in the middle of the desert and be among the Hill family once again. Thanks Murphy! What a relief it is to find an oasis.

I visited McCain’s website last night and it was filled with Hillary supporters. It was good to see so many, yet also painful as I read their stories and felt their pain. Fortunately, the site is fairly friendly except for a few staunch Repubs who pointed out that it was a McCain site, not a Hillary site. I honestly can’t blame them for becoming a bit annoyed with the wave of Hillary nomads. I doubt that we would have been thrilled if the McCain supporters had done the same at Hillary’s home base.

I have no problem voting for McCain if I have to, but I do prefer to be among like-minded people. I don’t have to hang out with his followers to show my support. He simply will have my vote if we can’t get this Hillary train back on the track. I still have faith that we will.

I might suggest to those who visit his site, to please let the Hillary supporters know they have family here. Many seem so lost and not sure where to put all of their energy. I’m sure it could be put to good use here.

I STAND FOR HILLARY…AND WILL NOT BE MOVED!

#128 fiercely independent on 06.06.08 at 4:41 pm

Thanks LouiseNY. I share your disquiet about McCain.

I’ve been thinking about what’s really most wrong—there are many things not right—with the DNC. First and foremost is the ’superdelegate’ nonsense. Without supers, the campaign would be going to the convention for a decision. That would give all Democrats (that leaves me out I guess, as I’m a card-carrying non-member of any party) more time to get to know the candidates.

If we remove the ‘king makers’ from the equation, we still have the smorgasboard of vastly different primary rules by state, and the caucuses. Apples (some rotten) and oranges. I voted for Hillary in my local caucus. Personally, I’d like to see uniform rules across all states, but that’s not something the DNC can legally impose, or at least I think they can’t.

#131 LouiseNY on 06.06.08 at 4:47 pm

Pumaindy–

I understand that many on this board will actually vote for McCain. I would just so much rather write-in Hillary or vote for someone else. I think it sends a stronger, more unified message from like-minded Hillary voters (because the write-in votes will actually be attributed to us).

My issue is that I believe McCain is exploiting our dissatisfaction with the DNC, and is just as sexist as the next guy. If not more. Much more.

I will never be able to get over that “joke” McCain made about Chelsea: “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” When Chelsea was just a teenager? To me, THAT is pure evil, and frankly, unforgiveable. He will never benefit from my vote.

#132 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 4:53 pm

John McCain made that comment about Chelsea? I recall really terrible things like that done to her, which I found abominable, but I did not know McCain was one of the perps. Careful about write ins, though – the rules of your state may be that your vote for HRC goes to BHO.

#133 mini vee on 06.06.08 at 4:57 pm

LouiseNY, I can only speak for myself when I say that I have no hesitation checking McCain’s name on the ballot come November. Here’s how I see it. I expected the misogny to take place when Hillary decided to do her run but never in a million years did I expect it to come from the Democrats. Howard Duck didn’t say a word until last Sunday, too little to late. That speaks volume. With McCain, at least I know where the guy stands. What I hate beyond anything is hypocrisy. This party talks about equality for all but when push comes to shove, the party leaders threw us women to the curb. I don’t need fellow democrats to call me the c-word or a racist wh*** all the while telling me they care about my reproductive rights.

#134 PA4HILL08 on 06.06.08 at 4:59 pm

all write ins will count for Nobama and not give anything to our HILLARY so if you write in HILLARY’S name you will be voting for the ABAMANATION to rule the white house

#138 antifish on 06.06.08 at 5:04 pm

LouiseNY,

I have the same hesitations as you when it comes to voting for McCain. We have time to mull it over and anything could still happen. What we absolutely must never do is whatever would help BO become president. We cannot back a Ross Perot-like candidate in 2008.

That said, I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that voting for McCain is the only guarantee of registering a vote against Obama. Anything else is just a dilution of the vote, and possibly and aid to Obama. I can cast my vote with the conviction that McCain, tempered by a Democratic House and Senate is far less dangerous than an unfettered Obama.

#139 MountainSong on 06.06.08 at 5:07 pm

Today, on The Situation Room, Wolf Blitzer has a story about all us disenchated Hillary supporters and how BO now has to figure out how to woo back our support for the Democratic Party. I hope he holds his breath.

#140 Goalucard4Hill on 06.06.08 at 5:09 pm

SueF and Redtumble so good to see my Hill family on here as well – I got here yesterday and met up with Undecided – this is a wonderful site and a great moderator – things that need to be said can and do get said here – HOORAY – we need to get the rest of the Hillsters here – we can contact the superd’s and raise holy hell – I am ready –
I voted on a Fox poll that someone had recommended – however when I was there – they mentioned plans that Hillary would concede – that has not changed from a couple of days ago right – she is suspending – correct – we know that she will be the nominee once everything starts tumbling down – Humpty Dumpty on the Wall – and not even all the kings men will be able to put him back together again – Our President Hillary R. Clinton

#141 pumaindy on 06.06.08 at 5:09 pm

LouiseNY

I definitely understand your concerns about McCain. He does not represent my core beliefs either. I DO agree with what you say. But…

My problem with voting for someone else or writing in Hillary is that doing this won’t hurt NObama. In fact, it might allow him to be elected. In reality, if NObama is the nominee, then either he or McCain will win the office. I believe that 2008 is still a two-party system and that there is no chance that a candidate from another party could actually win. I could be wrong.

One vote for McCain means that NObama needs two supporters to get ahead of McCain. So voting for McCain will actively hurt NObama.

There are earlier posts here that express the concern that if NObama is the nominee and that if you write in Hillary in November, then some states will count that as a vote for NObama since he is that party’s nominee. I was considering this option until I heard that. I will not write Hillary in if there is a chance that it will help NObama.

These are not easy times for us. I will vote for Hillary if she is the nominee. But I will vote for McCain if she is not the nominee or if she is VP on the ticket. Since I don’t believe that a candidate on the November ballot who is neither Republican nor Democrat will win, I don’t see that I have any other choice in 2008. Unless we have a viable third party candidate, I have to make my vote count. Hence my decision, even though I agree with what you say.

I joined as a McCain Democrat, they are making a special place for us there, and I will work to overthrow Obama and the DNC’s Stupidity! THIS will NEVER happen AGAIN in my lifetime! As for the Obamabots, they are not too smart so just report any of their threads on McCains site and they get removed, they always make themselves known because they say something really ignorant like: “McCain will keep us in Iraq for 100 years”, uhhh…OKAY. NOT gonna happen! OR they say: “McCain will over turn Roe V Wade”, AGAIN not at the top of McCain’s to do list, IF GEORGE BUSH didn’t do it, IT will NOT be done period! NO one can overturn abortion! IT is CASE LAW! THESE are recognizable features of the Obamanators! Also, they say things like: Hillary wants us to unite behind Obama, WE all KNOW she is having to endorse this SMUCK, but she is heavy in her heart and knows his appetite for distruction! Keep the faith guys and gals, WE will be victorious in the end, and 2012, will be a different ball game after we run Obama back into the hole in which he crawled out of!

I voted in the AOL straw poll….Just like the Obamabots used the internet against Hillary, we can return the favor. Sadly I don’t feel bad about helping to bring down this corrupt low-life who is trying to pass himself off as a different kind of politican. I have never disliked a politician as much as this one. Normally I could care less. I just chalk it up to politicians being politicians. I read in one CNN post that he would welcome Bill’s help! The nerve! I am sure everyone is weary of hearing how we’ll all shore up in the end for the new messiah…I am so distressed by the Super Delegates NOT following the voice of the people, the popular vote. They have, in essence, sold us out. I do not believe that we can afford to roll over this time. A handful of people should not be allowed to hi-jack the nomination process. I for one, after many, many years as a Democrat..will not continue to support a party that is run by elitists who obviously don’t care two cents about the grass roots of this great country without whom, I might add they cannot succeed. I am tired of hearing myself as an American woman, a Democrat, described in the media and by Obama supporters as merely a “post-menopausal Clinton supporter” like the years I have worked so hard to own my own business and to set a good example for other women, not to mention being a good and loyal Democrat….are not worth “squat”.
So….if it takes losing this election to get the attention of these people, if it takes losing in order to see the Democratic party do away with the Super Delegates and get back to the “real” truth..that being the votes of the people..then so be it.

Hi Murphy and all,

This site is getting better, I’d be making my donation next week (PUMA). I’ve made another donation for Hillary’s campaign today, she’s my priority right now I hope you guys don’t mind (loyal Hillary supporter here).

I’ve read the news Hillary and him I can’t mention had a meeting last night, it seems their meeting went well. I couldn’t care less if they give each other a hug or she forgive him for all those nasty words, brushing her off and flipping her off. I don’t forget, I get even! I took this primary very personal, I detest any man who shows total disrespect for ANY woman either its Hillary or an old lady down the streeet walking her dog. Hillary may ask all of her supporters to rally behind her opponent; that is where I draw the line. I’ll vote for McCain in November make financial contribution to his campaign and campaign for him. I’ve already get in touch with his campaigner in my city today. McCain is the next best thing after Hillary, I want a President I can trust and respect, McCain like Hillary; have earned it.

Whatever Hillary say tomorrow at noon, we must not begrudge her, instead we must respect her decision whatever that may be. She’s a fighter and will remain a true fighter for all the people either in the Senate or in the Whitehouse.

OH MY JESUS! THIS OBAMA IS SAYING HIS SECOND TERM! AND HE HAS NOT EVEN BEEN ELECTED TO THE FIRST! AND the MEDIA had the GALL to SAY HRC acts as if she is “entitled”! THIS makes me MADDER than I was before and MORE determined to help elect John McCain!

Message from Maggie Williams of the campaign. They’re inviting us to watch Hill’s speech tomorrow at noon streaming live on her website.

#175 Pm on 06.06.08 at 7:30 pm

This thing with Howard Dean is personal. After Dean lost the primaries due to his ‘primal scream’ Hillary & Bill wanted Terry McCauliff to stay on as head of DNC, being a moderate, uplifting guy (and brilliant) while Dean was not only faaaar left, but a flame thrower as well.
Hillary & Bill (being moderate, uplifting and brilliant) felt he was too militant, too Faaaar left and that he’d turn moderates off, possibly scare them right out of the party. Dean has never forgiven them for not supporting him. His policy for the Dems has’nt been to govern, but to exact revenge, fight the repubs and moderates- spit, spat and catfight. Which is why nothings gotten done for 18 months.

Dean also pushed DNC support for a new Dem to chase Leiberman out of politics for extending a hand across the aisle so they could actually get something done (imagine that, legislators legislating….) Then Leiberman ran as an Independent, and won. he’s been subjected to humiliation and been marginalized ever since. Not to mention being backed up to a wall and intimidated by Obama the other night.

Now the intimidation starts on Hillary, play ball and help elect O or your career is over. She knows she can’t serve the people if the DNC does to her what they did to Leiberman. As she has a Senate seat to defend, they will hold that over her to get her to cooperate.

As long as we allow these people- Including Harry Reid and Nancy Pilosi ( the Dean Disciples), run the show, we’ll never get our party back.
We have to stand strong, Register Independent and throw the flame throwers and back room dealers out.
Please don’t register as a repub, don’t give $ to the repubs, this has to be an Independent movement, register as an Indy and give $ to pumapac. We have to prove we aren’t anyones zombies, that’s how we’ll get the respect we deserve and the change we demand.

Let McCain court us, he’s got an actual record to look at and I can handle 4 years of him if it gets us what we are aiming for (and Gets Hillary a shot in 2012). We not only need to vote McCain to defeat Obama, we need to make sure he loses in a landslide. Plus act against the re-election of anyone in the DNC or SD’s that played a part in this debacle. Only these steps will assure that the Dem party reforms itself to serves the people rather than the other way around.

We’re 18 million strong, we can move mountains, an they have thrown the primary elections, we’ll throw the GE.

#176 nzanh on 06.06.08 at 7:38 pm

Something has got to be done about the DNC. Absolutely outrageous their actions in this primary season. And we have got to take action to end the misogynistic atmosphere that devours any female that dare take on the establishment. Let’s have at ‘em!

#177 Pm on 06.06.08 at 7:45 pm

Watch your credit card info people! A lady in Britain got her accounts hacked by someone for a total of $5000. The money was used as 2 donations to Obama Campaign, no word from the Obamatons whether they’ve returned her $.

#178 SandyS on 06.06.08 at 7:49 pm

Hi folks. Just wanted to say hello. Have a lot of work to do. But I scrolled up a bit and people seem to be deciding rather to vote for McCain or someone else. I think, if we want to be sure that Obama does not win, we have to vote for McCain. I will even volunteer for his campaign. I certainly know how to canvass and hold up signs by now. I signed up on his campaign as well.

#179 Olive on 06.06.08 at 8:03 pm

If Hillary is not really not to be our next President, I would like her to be the next DNC Chair. She can clean house and fix the mess that Howard and Donna made. She can bring the DEMs back home. And we know she can raise money, unlike ineffective Dean.

With that said, I still prefer Hillary for our 44th President. I just cannot fathom why a party would push the most qualified candidate off the stage. They must be the stupid wong of the party.

I’ve also been thinking about hideous amount of disrespect shown to Bill Clinton by the media, the party, and the Obama campaign. I have been reading his book, “Giving.” After the GE, I intend to do something to support his charitable efforts. Perhaps Hillary’s supporters could also turn their energy toward Bills’ work as a tribute to her. It would also show his detractors that every knock is a boost for the Clintons.

#183 SusyT on 06.06.08 at 8:25 pm

I’m listening to Laura on O’Reilly..they’ve been discussing Noonan’s absurd piece in the WSJ today. She has an Obama supporter on who is insisting that none of Hill’s supporters will end up voting for McCain! Silly people!
The way Noonan describes Clinton supporters is so insulting and that is nothing compared to how she insulted Hillary and Bill Clinton. I do believe in the Law of Attraction, and what the mainstream media continues to do, all of the negativity will come right back to them. I strongly suggest they brace their feet, save a lot of money and work hard on a backup plan! We won’t have to even give them another thought! They will do themselves in!

#185 MountainSong on 06.06.08 at 8:42 pm

OMGGGG!!!! Just now on FOX, on The O’Reilly Hour they were saying that because of concern over the anger of Democrats supporting hillary, NObama is enlisting the aid of Hillary to change our minds. There was talk of Oprah going door to door (How sensational would THAT be?) Also having other celebrities. And talking about how much money Oprah can bring to the campaign. And now they just said that Chelsea endorsed NObama today, so apparently Hillary has totally bailed.I am serious. Oil went to $139.00 per barrel today, the DOW fell by 400 pts, and it is predicted gas oil will hit $150.00/barrel as soon as the 4th of July. Nobama was quoted earlier as saying he plans to spend gazillions on education, money we don’t have and i just don’t see him in any position to bring ‘change’. His attitude toward the ‘rich’ scares me because you can’t make a poor person rich by making a rich person poor and it is the wealthy who can create the most employment. (Note: we have lost 300,000 jobs since January 1, and 100,000 new workers enter the labor market each month.
The sad fact is we just cannot afford to implement any of the Democratic promises.
I don’t understand how hillary can capitulate and support NObama who who has said he will withdraw from Iraq immediately. What an incredible insult to the families who have already made the ultimate sacrifice.
More and more each day it seems like McCain is the only immediate answer available. How sad to see our country come to this condition and I hope and pray that we can brainstorm here and find some solutions that are not pure fantasy.

#186 titan90 on 06.06.08 at 8:48 pm

I joined the PAC and am ready to get started.

What about using the group to support candidates running against top Obama supporters in office? We need to target the vulnerability and get money and support to those opposing them.

It’s more than voting for McCain if Obama is the Dem Nominee. The DNC bosses and vocal BO supporters need to lose office too.

Does anyone know if Kerry is vulnerable in MA? His district and state was overwhelming for Hillary – but he has been a vocal Obama person.

No see if she shows confidence it’s deemed “entitlement”. When he shows confidence, it’s deemed…well…confidence. He will never be called on it. It’s part of the media double standard toward strong females like our Hill that’s been happening throughout this campaign. Hence the reason we must boycott them.

#189 Pookie on 06.06.08 at 8:55 pm

As Eddie Huff, has said, “we need to ask some very serious questions of the senator from Illinois. It’s not enough to be black, it’s not enough to be articulate, and it’s not enough to eloquent and a media darling. The only question will be _how deaf an ear, or how blind an eye, will people turn in order to turn a frog into a prince.”

#190 Asian4Hillary on 06.06.08 at 9:00 pm

I thought it was too presumptous of that man to talk about second term as President while he was in Chicago today when he hasn’t been elected yet as President or official nominee for the party.

#191 SusyT on 06.06.08 at 9:02 pm

titan90, from what I’ve read on Hillary’s blog, Pelosi is also up for re-election! I’ll check on Florida politicians.

#192 ANewDay2008 on 06.06.08 at 9:03 pm

The Democratic Party Will *Never* Take My Vote For Granted Again.

I sure can’t speak for anyone else, but for the first time in my life I’m voting for an experienced Republican – John McCain.

I want an experienced, capable and electable candidate for the Presidency. Especially after eight years of an inexperienced and arrogant buffoon in the White House. So why would I vote for a Democratic one?

In addition, the DNC MUST be taught a lesson by The People: that elected officials throughout the United States CANNOT and WILL NOT turn stealing elections for THEIR favorites into a permanent habit. If people think that the Florida 2000 and FL & MI 2008 thefts were aberrations, they are in serious trouble. These two robberies of our elections are the beginning of a dangerous trend. American leaders are getting bolder and more brave about eating away at our basic rights as American.

The Democratic party has OFFICIALLY lost the right to criticize the Republicans for the stealing of 2000 and 2004 elections. Their hypocrisy has now been clearly exposed for the entire country to see.

Hi SusyT!

Pelosi is up for re-election – but I am unsure how vulnerable she is. Kerry is up too – but again how vulnerable is he? We need to focus on the ones we have a chance to remove.

I am unsure if this is something the PUMA PAC would support. I do not want to veer off purpose.

Susy T,

You are correct! Pelosi is up for reelection. I’ve made a small contribution to one of her opponents, Shirley Golub and I’m from GA! A Republican and two other Democrats are opposing her. One is Cindy Sheehan, who I believe is an OB supporter.

Anyway, if you’d like to check out Shirley’s site, here’s the link. I’m sure you can Google to get info on the others.

There is so much negative information on the web on Obama I cannot believe anyone who wants anything good for America could be fighting for everything so wrong. I had a dream 2 weeks ago that showed Hillary’s web site shutting down and on the home page it was running the credits just like at the end of a movie. I showed my husband the supporters rolling on the first page of Hillary’s site. He knew what I had dreamed and he couldn’t say anything – I’m still spooked by it.

#201 Jeremy on 06.06.08 at 9:24 pm

I guess we won’t know until tomorrow if it is suspension of the campaign or being robbed of the canidacy. From what I have been reading/listening to I would take it that she will admit to being robbed. I can’t say the other word. My thoughts are going in every direction, but one thing is clear, I will NOT vote for this Fraud from Illinois! Bring Oprah on. Bring Caroline Kennedy on. All of them, nothing will change my mind and as for ALL of the rest of the Democrats in my state and district, I will vote you back home…if you have one

#202 United We Stand 4 Hillary on 06.06.08 at 9:25 pm

If Hillary is currently ‘disabled’ (if ya know what I mean), then we take up the fight. Here’s my first warning shot across the DNC bow:
*****************

As a 20 year Democratic voter, I am writing to request that you reconsider your endorsement of Senator Obama in August at the convention.

This election comes down to who is most electable in November, and Senator Clinton holds the two cards that count: she has more than enough GUARANTEED Electoral College votes to win in November. Senator Obama does not. Her support base is composed of repeat, committed voters that you can count on in the Fall. His are new, young, and overscheduled, not as committed to getting to the polls.

I also wanted to dispel any notion you may have that ‘we’ will support Senator Obama in the Fall. There is a huge citizen movement building in opposition to the undemocratic way this primary has been run. We are male, female, trans, gay, bi, and lesbian. We are families, single moms, single dads, seniors and college students. We are Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Spiritual and Atheist. We are white, black, brown, red and yellow. We are educated, street smart, uneducated, or being educated. We are poverty, lower class, middle class and upper class. We are rural, urban and suburban. We are mainland states and island states. We are Clinton Democrats and PUMAs (watch for this moniker). WE ARE AMERICA.

If Senator Clinton is not the Democratic Nominee for President of the United States, we, 17 million strong, will vote for John McCain. We are not going to ‘fall in line’, even if Hillary asks us to or if she is on the ticket. We support her vision of our American future. We do not support the vision of America through the eyes of Barak Obama. We will choose McCain because he is a moderate conservative that has sacrificed for our beloved country and is not afraid to go against the grain of his party for what he believes in. We are not concerned about Roe v. Wade because a Democratic Congress can stop any movement to overturn the verdict. A Democratic Congress will also ensure that McCain’s power will be limited for his four short years of office. We will not put a Junior Senator with less than one year of experience in the Senate who has questionable connections and poses a threat to 60 years of tolerance in the most powerful position on Earth – President of the United States. In summation, we feel that Barak Obama poses a much bigger threat to this country than John McCain.

We also want our democracy back – ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’. We want transparent, simplified and condensed primaries that are accessible in all ways to ALL who are eligible to participate. One person, one vote. We are prepared to fight for reform, peacefully and legally. We are gathering and organizing. Mr. Dean has received hundreds if not thousands of shredded voter cards and party change request forms already. McCain is seeing a huge increase in registrations on his site. We will work to ensure McCain’s success and the removal of all elected officials who played a part in this charade. We will make it our mission to find out who voted against their district’s and constituent’s choice and endorsed the opposite candidate. We will begin working on Hillary ‘12, as independent voters. We will make Martin Luther King, Jr., and all the people who sacrificed, fought and died for our democratic rights PROUD.

I ask that you consider our children and our future.

Please stay true to democracy – endorse Senator Clinton for President of the United States of America.

#203 StarDust on 06.06.08 at 9:26 pm

That last comment didn’t come out quite right. I meant to say could vote for anyone who represented everything that was so wrong. Hope that clears up the confusion

There is a certain “weirdness” about all of this and what is going on today with Wall Street. I was listening to “talk right” radio today and they sense a feeling that this victory is “bittersweet.” No one is smiling and if they are it is fake. The airline industry, today, said that both Continental and United Airlines would be laying off about 50,000 people asap. And get this, a group called “Friend of Hurricane Katrina” are giving a welcoming party in Denver for all delegates because the DNC does not have the money to pay for these “parties” themselves. Hey Oprah, write another check, please!

Great post! We are from all walks of life. You did leave me out though, I’m retired military. As you stated, it is very important that we get the word out to elected officials that we will oppose all Obama supporters who went against the will of their constituents and backed OB when they preferred Hillary. This is just another way of disenfranchising voters, and that has to stop. I let Howard Dean know this yesterday when I sent my Puma PAC letter. I told him I would support anyone of any party who opposes these miscreants. They were elected to represent the people, not the Democratic Party elites!

Great letter United. OMIGOSH, it gave me chills.

Great point about Roe vs Wade. I was telling my daughter the same thing today. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t the fact that more hasn’t been done to overturn it — a sticking point for the right wing.

I also feel confident about a democratic congress controlling the seating of the supreme court justices as well. Personally, I have felt good about the one(s)seated under Bush administration. I wish I could say the same thing when Clarence Thomas was seated (BTW, I’m Black and not being racist).

sounds great My family would buy some & wear them~ hmmmm dont think my son would care for pink though

#231 Kat4Hillary on 06.06.08 at 10:34 pm

I’m new here, but if anyone has the answer to this question, I would love to know it. I’ve read that if Hillary chooses to suspend her campaign, she still maintains all her delegates. However, if she concedes the race, the delegates are released and she has no recourse. Yet, nothing is official till the convention votes are taken. Correct?
So… wouldn’t it be proper etiquette for her to SUSPEND the campaign, thereby acknowledging and respecting the wishes of DNC committee members, yet, by not releasing her delegates till after the first round at the convention, she thereby acknowledges and respects the wishes of her supporters.
DNC would be happy of the suspension but angry that she didn’t release her delegates, but, they really couldn’t become too vocal, because that would only heighten the ire of the Hillary Supporters who want to be heard at the convention.
Am I correct about the difference between suspended and conceding?

#232 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 10:35 pm

I really wanted to be in DC tomorrow…I was there last week.

Without being rude or disrespectful to Hillary, please let her and the DNC know that we firmly won’t support Obama or “fall in line”.

Have you noticed that the media is trying to make this out to be a “female” thing.

Obama has alienated the middle-class voters, Jewish voters, female voters … well, it’s all in United’s letter.

I guess we’re all too stupid and poor to count.

Can anyone explain to me how Obama got the authority to “allow Dean to remain as head of the DNC”?

#233 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 10:42 pm

Let me clarify my question:

I read that Obama decided to “allow Howard Dean to remain as head of the DNC”.

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought that was a “Party” decision. Not, just Obama’s to make.

Where did he get the authority to make that decision.

#234 Jeremy on 06.06.08 at 10:42 pm

Not to be OT, but in a certain way, I think we are making our point. They are in deep mourning over at the TM site. Everyone is asking were all of “us” regulars are and that we are missed. They can’t even say anything negative about “him.” You do, 3 of his henchpeople attack. Taylor is acting so aloof. She warned them. She has supported Hillary for sure, that is not in anyone’s doubt and I will the first do support that. I guess what I am trying to say here is that it is really sad when a prominent fellow host bloggers site is being taken over. Sad! Just Sad!

#235 gokimfrommichigan on 06.06.08 at 10:43 pm

Kat4Hillary

you are correct if she suspends she keeps her delegates

#236 Jeremy on 06.06.08 at 10:44 pm

oh antifish, that is what I call recycling!

#237 StarDust on 06.06.08 at 10:47 pm

Look Obama did not get there on his own (he could’t have) He was pushed. For heavens sake the guy doesn’t even know how many states we have or where the Great Lakes are. Think about it people. The DNC have an agenda and their agenda is to get this idiot elected by hook or by crook.

#238 Jeremy on 06.06.08 at 10:47 pm

Kat4Hillary–You are sound correct from what I read. However, she said that she would endorse him. How can you endorse someone but only suspend. I am with Hillary 100 percent. Don’t get me wrong. I guess we won’t know until she has her say on all of this tomorrow. I hope that helps.

#239 antifish on 06.06.08 at 10:50 pm

Just heard on the news that BO may show up at Hillary’s speech tomorrow. The general concensus on hillaryclinton.com is that we should all turn off our TVs the moment he steps out. That will send a message to the MSM! We can always view it later. I’m sure it will be posted on the website or emailed to supporters.

#240 Jeremy on 06.06.08 at 10:51 pm

SunnyPa-The nominee becomes the head of the party. That is how he has the power. I know it is not official, but what in this so far is?

#241 antifish on 06.06.08 at 10:54 pm

Recycling! LOL, Jeremy!

Yes, it is sad about TM’s site. I lurked there for months before joining in its final days, but I’m sure those of you who were regulars are very disheartened. I felt the same way when DKos became Obamamoonieland.

#242 pumaindy on 06.06.08 at 10:56 pm

I think that Murphy should take most or all of United’s letter and make it prominent on the PUMA site somewhere. It expresses my sentiments eloquently and I suspect others also judging from what I have read. We need more of this kind of uplifting speech to serve as our call to arms and to let people outside of our group know what we are about and what we want.

We need a spot here for our credos, of which this should be one. United would have to agree first, of course :)

PUMA POWER! (AKA Cougar)
This totem’s gift is how to balance power, intention, strength and grace.
It is the balance of body, mind and spirit.
The first responsibility of leadership is truth.
Remember: Responsibility is no more than the ability to respond to any situation.
Cougar can teach you how to bring out your power
and fill your heart with it that will enable you to take charge of your life.
You can use Cougar power to defend yourself or to attack.

#244 antifish on 06.06.08 at 10:58 pm

SunnyPA,

I asked the same question earlier about how Obama can just take over the party. I’ve never heard of such. I thought Howard Dean was voted in by a group of party leaders. How is it that Obama gets to decide “to keep him”? Maybe for the same reason he decided what the RBC could and could not do on May 31st?

#245 SusyT on 06.06.08 at 10:59 pm

Antifish…I’ll take a new Lexus if Oprah’s buying! But I still won’t vote for Obama!!
I, also have only a left wing….it’s kind of middle sort of left wing….not a far, far left sort of wing!!!

Sort of sad, it takes two of us Floridians to equal one vote!

#246 United We Stand 4 Hillary on 06.06.08 at 11:02 pm

I’ll get to work on the bracelets :)

Patriotic Colors, but what should it say?

#247 ShortTermer on 06.06.08 at 11:02 pm

I have just come from “other” comment sites. People keep asking the same questions over and over and over. If we keep spinning our wheels we will get nowhere. One of the redundant questions/proposals was to boycott the media and pundits. And there have been groups who mass email to protest; while that may feel good it is not effective. The way to hurt the media and their pundits is to boycott their sponsors. The sponsored ads that run during their show time should be contacted as well. Every time you respond to them, even with criticism, they do a happy dance because they got you to watch! They do a happy dance because you just helped with their viewer numbers. Now, it is okay to mass email those in the media who are helpful to our cause – like Greta. Greta was delighted that she could tell guests that we women are mad – and that we are throwing our support toward McCain. She spoke it, but they still do not listen.

Boycott the sponsors and write and phone them……….by the hundreds and hundreds. I have an idea-run an ad naming them and asking others to join our boycott, and make a video blaming them and then run the numbers up on the video to make it viral.

One further suggestion, every time one of us emails our displeasure over their sponsoring such vitreol we should pool our quote bank here and “copy & paste” the quotes with sources.Use the media’s own poison to knock them off.

Murphy, there are two entities that are strong for counting every vote and against voter suppression. Might you email or call them and ask them to join us here? One is FDR [Florida Demands Representation] at
floridademandsrepresentationdotorg, the founder is Jim Hannagan and his phone number is on the site. Another is LULAC [Latino] who paid for the trip I made to DNC as a member of FDR. All these people are dedicated toward the higher goals of making things right.

#260 SunnyPA on 06.06.08 at 11:19 pm

Thanks United. I was going to ask if I could use it as well.

I agree with boycotting the sponsors. When everyone was ranting against NYTimes, I said that we should go after Bloomingdale’s or Macy’s. Can you imagine the impact if we boycotted the stores. Retail is already down.

#261 United We Stand 4 Hillary on 06.06.08 at 11:21 pm

I’ll get started on it this weekend (amongst my classwork, parenting, job, and eBay-LOL) if we can come to a consensus on color and what it should say!

Can everyone weigh in please? Or send me an email at thatelusiveone@aol.com and I’ll tally the results and report back. Spread the word so I can get as much opinion as we need.

I sold $17K in t-shirts for 9-11, so I’m pretty good at this design stuff if you want me to design and surprise you. (for as much as rubber can provide)

new thread up called tomorrow see ya there :)

#266 ShortTermer on 06.06.08 at 11:40 pm

Maybe we could do local protests against their sponsors in front of their brick and mortar stores.
I’m likin it. But we need to know who is in our immediate area. I know that Susy T, Dragonfly, and Jody and myself are in Florida, and three of us are in central/northern Florida. And we could do a protest in front of one of the sponsors while in Denver.

I like the gold idea, but maybe not the tshirts. The suffragettes used green[Give], white[Women, and violet[the Vote], maybe those colors.

Slogan suggestions:
-I am strong. I am invincible, I am woman! and [because we are PUMA - hear me roar!
- We are in numbers too big to ignore!!!
-Meet me in Denver, Barack Obama [for the convention]

#267 gina613 on 06.06.08 at 11:42 pm

The media has recently run stories on Oprah’s rating being down 11% since she endorsed BO. They are trying to saying it is unrelated to her support for BO, but let’s make sure they know it is.

Happy to be part of this group. I came across this link earlier on another pro-Hillary site and I just couldn’t wait to share. THis pastor can be very abrasive and is sometimes more than I can listen to, however, this is quite a tribute to her and very well presented for him.

Made me cry.

Looking forward to being a part of this movement for justice. Hope it will be a positive hopeful speech tomorrow. If not it will bw McCain for me

#272 ANewDay2008 on 06.07.08 at 8:17 am

The belief was that even though Obama might not be able to win the presidency, the fact that he had “all these new voters” would help to ensure that the party won the congressional and senatorial seats in play in November. I asked if Hillary had read the comments posted by her supporters and was told that she did and that if she felt she could win the election (garner the superdelegate support at the convention), she would have stayed in the race. However , the DNC and supers made it very clear to her that they would not support her and that she needed to get out.
—————————
If this is true, then it’s time for a list.

A list of the Obama Superdelegate supporters in Congress to fire in November.

#273 Zee on 06.07.08 at 12:51 pm

ShortTermer….more excellent ideas!

Also, since Violet is the Vote, all our items should be Violet! I was for a purple PUMA from the start (I posted that on the confluence.)

We need to quit thinking pink, since CODE PINK is already pink, the panther is already pink, and the men we want to stand by us, and who want to stand by us, deserve another color than pink!!

Purple is also the color they use for states that are half red/ half blue….purple and gold should be our colors!!!

Also, for the wristband slogan I suggest PUMA-STRONG

Thanks, United we Stand!

#274 photolady on 06.07.08 at 7:00 pm

Purple is good!! Men will wear it, kids will too!
Where do I send my money?

Hillary gave the best speach of her life today, but we all know her heart was not there for BHO!! She’s a loyal Democrat, and for that, we must not fault her. So are we!!! And we want or Party back!!!

#275 catchusifyoucan on 06.08.08 at 12:07 am

Everyone is so quiet today? I like the statement that someone said that Hillary is being guided to the Presidency by a higher power and will be Madame President in spite of the DNC and No-Bahma-man.

#276 steve on 06.08.08 at 1:10 am

I decided a year ago to enthusiastically support whoever won the Dem. Party nomination. I heartily agree that media portrayals of Hillary have been often sexist and unfair. The party’s primary process may well be flawed with its emphasis upon caucusses. However, is trying to get McCain elected the way to address these concerns?

Wasn’t the primary process known to everyone well before it started?

Personally, I’d rather see Obama, Hillary, Richardson, Edwards or anyone the Dems put up over a man who will continue to eviscerate our civil rights, plunge us into and keep us in unnecessary wars and not fight for ANY of the values that Dems hold dear.

Use this PAC to fight sexism in the media. Use it to work for change in process with in the party. I’d ask that you NOT use it to try to hand the election to McBush.

#277 Pm on 06.08.08 at 2:38 pm

The only way to make change in the Dem party is to make sure Obama loses in a landslide. The only way to make that happen is to vote McCain. I can handle it for 4 years. It’s a lonnnnng shot to get Hillary on Supreme court, she has no bench experience. The V.P, DNC head positions will just be an attempt to remove her from political office and marginalize her.
How about the bracelets & T-shirts saying
PUMAcrats just say ‘Nobama’

#281 Johnny at Work on 06.12.08 at 10:30 am

Hello PUMAS –

I AM A HILLARY SUPPORTER, DO NOT TRASH ME.

I had to get that out because a few days ago I was called a misogyist and worse on this site for 1) Supporting McCain over Obama, and 2) Wanting to oust the Ultra Liberals on the DNC namely Pelosi and Dean, by 3) Defeating Obama by a landslide in Nov, an supporting moderate Republicans as well as Democrats.

There is room in my tent for reasonable Republicans. Yes they do exist, and McCain is one of them.

But just as there are unreasonable Republicans, there are unreasonable Democrats. Unreasonable Democrats have control of the party, and the PUMA is a result of their unreasonable control.

We need to place our support in the Democratic Leadership Council where Hillary is a member. We need to end all support for the DNC.

Read this prophetic piece dated August 7,2007 by Harold Ford, Chairman of the Democratic leadership Committee.
http://www.dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?kaid=110&subid=65&contentid=254410.

#282 Johnny at Work on 06.12.08 at 10:36 am

Hillary would have been the best choice, but we were hosed by the DNC.

McCain is a far better choice than Obambi. At least McCain thinks for himself. McCain hs stood up to his own party and the President.

There are not many Democrats or Republicans who have the political or moral courage to do that. Obambi will do whatever Axelrod an Pelosi tell him to do.

If Obambi is the DNC’c Final Answer, then we need to oust their asses come November. The only way to get political justice is in the voting booth.

If we elect Obambi, the DNC will be empowered to dictate whatever they want to us, and will give us any candidate they feel like.

#283 Johnny at Work on 06.12.08 at 12:57 pm

To titan90…. We can make Pelosi and Kerry and all other DNC and Obama supporters vulnerable.

Kerry and Pelosi are from areas that were overwhelmingly pro Hillary. We can make them regret voting against the wises of those they claim to represent.

If we decide that is our goal, tan to steal an opposition phrase, “YES WE CAN” and should put their re-election in jeopardy.

I have seen mixed signals from PUMA, and I am waiting for a concrete mission statement, which needs to come soon to be effective.

Many PUMA’s are angry, but will still vote for Obama and a straight Dem ticket. That is what the Pelosi’s are counting on, and why they will ignore PUMA.

PUMA’s power and the power of any organized movement is in the votes it can generate one way or another.

Are we serious about taking back the Dem Party? We can if we have the guts to stand up to the Party Elite.

#284 Flowerchild2 on 06.12.08 at 4:39 pm

Okay, maybe this will make some of you feel better about voting for McCain. McCain has said he plans to put dems on his cabinet. Now who do you think he would choose? The 1 year Jr. Senator from Illinois, who Senator McCain has disliked since the two worked on the Ethics Reform Bill. John McCain had two run-ins with Obama as they worked on that bill. He accused Obama of being disingenous, believing he had been put there for a higher purpose, and had a halo on his head. (Sounds to me like Senator McCain reads people very well)…OR
a person he respects, admires, and is a friend, a person who serves with him on the Senate Armed Services Committee – - who has traveled with him on the international front – - that is Senator Clinton. I think Senator McCain is not pandering to us. It was told to me months back by Republicans that McCain wanted to run against Clinton because she was a worthy opponent and Obama was not. From what I’ve read, Senator McCain does not like Obama. Remember back when Obama won his 13 string caucus states, and McCain was firing back at him, calling him a silver tongue who wanted to take a break from history???? I think it’s safe to conclude, Senator McCain would select Senator Clinton to be on his cabinet, and that he is fully with us on our assessment of Obama.

#285 diva1 on 06.12.08 at 4:43 pm

Don’t know if my post went through that one of us, Hillary supporters, was on Cavuto (just happened) and talked about having a meeting with McCain’s camp. I didn’t catch what group she was representing but this i GREAT! Everyday, it is more press, delegates are leaving NONAME.

I said along time ago that NONAME would implode and I think it might be happening! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the list of what I want. Will write more later.
Finally, does anyone remember my post about the relationship between Senator Clinton and McCain? They have a great work relationship! If you want to hear more, let me know. Heard this on POTUS yesterday.

Gotta go rest, will get back to you soon.

End all supports to DNC!!! They hijacked the party and betrayed the PEOPLE and their will! Not only the presidential race we should weight in. Also we should impact all the lower level elections or re-elections all over the country. I for one, is not going to vote the congressman in my district as he stayed “uncommitted” despite his district heavily went for Hillary on Feb 5. I won’t be a loyal fool anymore for my Party since I have been loyal too long and got screwed!

#287 dochayes on 06.13.08 at 12:40 am

David Axelrod came to Houston TX today and attended a fund- raiser for Obama at the elegant and up-class Wortham Hall. We were out front with signs saying “Obama No!” and chanting. TV crews filmed us. We even yelled at Axelrod himself. In “honor” of the occasion I made a video entitled “David Axelrod Comes to Texas!”; it is posted on You Tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkdHmmy2BcE

Watch and send to as many people as possible; it’s about contributors to Obama’s campaign. I think you’ll like it and find it interesting.
