(If you want to be a part of the Puma movement, send an email to join@pumapac.org to join. Read the first few blog posts here. Read the “About” and “Goals” pages at the top of the site. Register and comment on the posts. The more we talk the stronger we get. Read the blogs on the blogroll — there aren’t too many, and each is essential reading. The writers and commenters who have been posting for months, even years, now have become a new village of sanity, inspiration, and relief. Turn off the TV and don’t read the newspapers — they will only make you sad and mad. Spread the word — let’s get thousands of women and men across the country organized and ready to begin. The primaries are over, but we have just now begun to fight!)
Hillary Clinton showed us last night what true, inspiring leadership looks like. She is not giving up, and she has asked for our help. All of us, individually and in small groups of family and friends, have watched in amazement as her determination, courage, grace, and wit have been tested by an onslaught of sexist, irrational, and demeaning opposition. The press, the pundits, the DNC, and most of the big-name bloggers have had it in for Senator Clinton from the beginning. No tactic or attack has been beneath them — from calling for her murder to ridiculing her with the most humiliating sexist stereotypes; from suppressing and dismissing her 18 million voters to outright stealing her pledged delegates. Powerful people and institutions want her out of this race.
We believe, however, that the forces arrayed against Hillary Clinton have overplayed their hand. They couldn’t beat her the old-fashioned way, by earning more votes, so they tried to do it underhanded — by bullying, cheating, lying, and mud-slinging. But even today, after all of the dirty tricks they’ve pulled, the DNC, the dirty Obama campaign, and their fawning enablers in the mainstream media and blogosphere have not succeeded in pushing Senator Clinton out. Neither have they succeeded in silencing us with bullying, pandering, and threats of party disunity.
They broke the Democratic party, but we can fix it. If you are one of the 18 million voters who have been inspired and awed by the actions and leadership of Hillary Clinton this campaign season; if you believe that the voice of the Democratic party must always be a chorus that includes women, the elderly, the very poor, ethnic and racial minorities, the gay and lesbian community, union workers, the sick and uninsured, immigrants, and American workers of every stripe and creed — then you are a Puma.
We have Moved On from the blogs and the groups whom we thought shared our values and represented our interests. We have heard their message of exclusion and disdain, and we have listened when they told us we were not needed in the Democratic party. We think they’re wrong. We represent the true majority of Democrats and Americans — those who are determined to see an honest and strong Democrat in the White House in November, those who will seek power through unity and inclusion, not divisiveness and dismissal.
We want our party back. We want new leadership in the DNC; strong opposition to the disastrous Republican policies that have brought our nation to the brink; and an end to the permissive media environment that allows, participates in, and encourages the most blatant and unbridled expressions of sexism and hatred. We want Hillary Clinton in the White House in November. We have all summer to get it done, and we’re not taking No for an answer.
UPDATE, 6/6/08 at 12:38am: Welcome to all the new members and commenters. The response in the past two days has been phenomenal. If you have sent an email to join the Puma PAC today, don’t worry if you haven’t received a confirmation email reply yet. You are officially joined up — sending the email is all you need to do. We will be sending confirmations and email updates as soon as possible. Feel free to email or comment in threads with questions. I will reply.
Because of the troll infestation that swarms when I turn off moderation (geez, I wonder why the trolls are so desperate?), I am going to hold all comments for the next few hours so I can attend to some other matters (I mean get some sleep). If your comment doesn’t appear it has not been deleted or lost — it’s just being held. I’ll release them first thing in the morning.
Please visit the site often for updates and action alerts. Contribute if you can. Puma PAC is not simply a blog, it’s also a political action committee. The blog is our village square. Let’s get rolling!

Murphy,
Thanks for setting this up.
We need to get organized. It is wonderful to have friendly blogs to read, but it is past time for action.
Tusconlynn, welcome! The next few days will be a whirlwind of organizing and getting ready to start making an impact. Thank you for joining us.
“We’re either all in this together, or we’re all outside alone!”
murphy,
I don’t comment much on riverdaughters site, but read every wonderful word that everyone else writes. I am more than ready to take this fight to the streets.
testing
Thank you for starting this group! Icant wait to take on the DNC!!
I have been searching for a grassroots website that would bring all of the angry and frustrated democrats together. The many blogs have been helpful and supportive but when thousands of voices are united under a single umbrella comprised of shared causes, the impact is so much more powerful. Thank you so much for your efforts! I’ve MOVED ON to PUMA! Let’s get the word out to all the pro-Hillary bloggers out there that support fighting the DNC!
Murphy, Thanks for giving us a place to go after the most terrible primary season I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve left the DNC, national, state, and local and will not return until their leadership, principals, and values have returned to represent the 18 million people who voted for Hillary Clinton. We have a goal which was clearly stated. We need a framework in which to begin the mission of changing the party (inside and outside). We also need some high profile people to help, some of HIllary’s supporters who see the need for change (Hillary style).
missy and mayor, welcome!
yes we are Moving On to Puma.
tell your friends to visit and join. If you’re not familiar with the sites on the blogroll, go visit. You’ll feel better.
Let’s start talking and being heard!
Thanks for this site.
I’ll send emails to family and friends to share the good news.
I love Hillary. I know she’s a loyal Democrat, so she will do what she thinks is necessary. Best of luck to her.
Yes, I am a PUMA. This is the best way to describe me. I just joined and sent the letter to H. Dean.

murphy…Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. This is just what I was looking for.
I added you to my blog!
I am having a hard time getting posted on Hillary’s website today so I will come here and visit my Hill Family. I wish we could design t-shirts that say “I am one of 18 million”. That would be great! My heart is broken by all the injustice. Thank you for creating this site.
Glad to have a site that shares my views. Though I was going to vacation this summer, but might be more active than I thought. Lets see what we can do, If enough of us speak as one our roar might be heard.
thank you so much for this site! i’m really sad today but coming here has helped a lot. i will tell my family and friends about this site, and yes, send that letter to howard dean as a puma.
Hi everyone, yep, I’m a Hillary supporter who will never ever nope not ever vote for Obama. No way no how. Not even if Hillary were to take the vP spot, which I hope and pray she does not do. I sent my letter to the DNC just a little while ago. Have you seen on the news where Obama is making the DNC “his” dnc??? OMG, someone needs to tell them that we have all left the DNC building! ROTFLMAO

Hello everyone,
This site is going to be like a reha for me for the next few months! Thank God. I am very upset about the treatment against Hillary, very frustrating. I read an article today in NOW website, and I was so shocked with all the stuff that was said about her from the media and the anti-femenist.
I am so thankful for this site! Thank you all for being here. We will continue to fight the good fight! I’ve just registered and I wanted to say hello. I’ll dive into everyone’s posts …. YAY!!!!
Obama NEVER went after the GAY vote! HE felt like he didn’t need it! As for HRC she was very active in the GLLAD movement, I have a good friend whose son is a young gay man, he was working security for Bill Clinton as he campaigned for Hillary! Like he said, he has spent half his life trying to accept himself and the other half trying to be accepted by others! Bill Clinton truly made him feel apart of all the process! He became very close to him, said he is one of the smartest and most caring individual you would ever meet! I believe him. Obama exudes an air of pure arrogance! HE acts as if he is ALREADY President!
sorry for the typo its GLAAD! I always have to say it to myself to spell it! But you get the point!
I am glad to see the development of this site. The events of these last few days have left me in a kind of shock, as if I have been brutally assaulted by the MSM, not just ignored.
I wouldn’t vote for Obama or McCain if a gun was held to my head. I would truly love to see a female elected President in my lifetime.
This evening, I was watching Glenn Beck. One of his guests was the Libertarian candidate and he made alot of sense about rising above partisan politics and being able to reach across the aisles to both sides to avoid this current “divided we fall” situation that has prevailed since the beginning of the two-party system.
We haven’t heard any response from Hillary about our desire to see her run as Independent. Rather she is going to support Nobama and he may help pay off her 20 million debt and then they will both work to achieve the ideals of the Democratic Party. Why does this taste like the same old selfish politics as usual? Like she is telling us, “Thanks, but……..”
I personally thought, IMHO, that their differences were huge. Oh, well, in lieu of a “none of the above” box on the ballot, NO vote IS a vote. Yet, at the same time, I’m afraid that not voting might help get Obama elected and the same with voting Independent or Libertarian.
Thank God we have this forum where we can discuss option we might have to having our 18 million voices count.
Bluegrasstina…I heard that Obama made that comment but I’ve yet to see the original. I will do a search, but please post a link if you can! (great name, btw!)
Murphy, thanks again for this place!
Some more blogs for your blogroll: Tennessee Guerilla Women, NoQuarterUSA, Talk Left…well, I would say BartCOP but he’s moving on to Obama as he said he would once the primary was decided…he’s been fantastic, tho, so it remains to be seen how he embodies the “Unity”…HinesSight has also been a good news source, but not sure how they are going to proceed now….
Oh, and HireHeels is a riot, even tho it’s next to impossible to post on. I’m sure I’ll think of more.
There’s an update to this post — please scroll up to read it.
Good night all. Thank you again for joining and being part of this movement.
I am grateful for this site. None of my blogs have posted on HRC’s website and it has been very frustrating. I have been trying for a month. I do follow other peoples blogs and have participated in writing the media, donating and making calls during the primaries. Does anyone know why my blogs don’t post there?
Hello everyone
I am a big Hillary supporter i will do everything for her but i will NOT vote for BO!!!.thank GOD for this site.or i will go nuts and Howl at the moon.we must get rid of BO.LET all of us pick a day and change to independent that will show them we mean business.
Good Start folks…Now lets get into action. We have some detractors out there…How do we make an impact?
Hi! I am a strong Hillary supporter and I am very mad at DNC and the way they robbed Hillary of her presidency! I enjoyed reading your comments. At this time we need to be active, though. I am wondering if there is a way to have a list of all the super delegates available on Puma so we can write them letters to convince them to vote for Hillary at the convention in august and to reverse the unfair vote by the delegates. After all, it is the popular vote that counts… I am from Florida and we voted for Hillary, and our votes did not count for most of the campaign, and now count as half a vote for obama, that is. the more we write to them the better…
I am a huge Hillary supporter from Ohio, I tried posting numerous times at hillary’s website and my comments were never posted. I am thrilled at the prospect of communicating with other like minded Hillary supporters. Don’t know where to begin, first off Obama will never get my vote and I do mean NEVER. We in Ohio worked tirelessly to ensure a Senator Clinton victory, what a travesty to give the nomination to a underqualified, nobody, that has not a prayer of winning in the general election. I have tried to no avail to change party affiliation, but here, sorry to report ,was told that i can not do so until 2012, although the NICE LADY I spoke to informed me of my right to vote for the candidate of my choosing, YOU THINK? I still fully believe and support Senator Clinton’s candidacy, and feel very strongly that we all need to continue to fight for what rightfully belongs to her and us. We need a better tomorrow and she is the only person qualified to bring the change that is necessary. I am ready to continue the fight, as are many of my friends and family members, ON TO DENVER. The DNC needs to see the tragic choice that they have bestowed upon us. We will not now, or in the future fall in line with these idiots, we will not give up the fight to put the best possible choice forth for the nomination of this once great party, they need to restore themselves in my eyes and the eyes of many. I am patiently waiting for my marching orders, and am fully confident that together we can put the fear of GOD in the minds and hearts of all the disloyal party leaders and followers! Again ON TO DENVER, let us the people, take back our voices and our country, and put them in the very capable hands of Senator Clinton!
