Welcome.

Puma PAC was inspired by SM, a commenter at Riverdaughter’s incomparable blog, The Confluence, as well as by the shared wisdom and frustrations expressed by the regular commenters there. All of the wonderful writers and readers of that blog, as well as of the blogs on the blogroll are welcome here — to comment and post.

All who are tired of being ignored by the Democratic party; who are not ready to have our voices in the national political conversation silenced by a divisive movement and its complicit media enablers; and who are not willing to give up our seat at the table of government are welcome here!

Regulars will know that there is another, more defiant meaning for the acronym P.U.M.A., and until the voices of Pumas are once again listened to by the leadership of the Democratic party, we will be guided by that defiance.

Puma PAC is a political action committee organized in June 2008. We are motivated to action by our shared belief that the current leadership of the Democratic National Committee has abrogated its responsibility to represent the interests of all democrats in all 50 states. They are misleading our party and aim to mislead our country into nominating an illegitimate candidate for president in 2008. Our goals are fourfold:

1. To support the candidacy of Hillary Clinton

2. To lobby and organize for changes in leadership in the DNC

3. To critique and oppose the misogyny, discrimination, and disinformation in the mainstream media, including mainstream blogs and other outlets of new media

4. To support the efforts of those political figures and groups who have allied themselves with Hillary Clinton and who have demonstrated commitment to our first three goals

ABOUT ME

I am a politically active blogger in Boston, Massachusetts. Readers of any of the excellent blogs in the blogroll may know me as Murphy. You can read my post at correntewire about the movement I believe we, as those unhappy with the current leadership and direction of the DNC, are already a part of.

If you have found yourself during this primary campaign disheartened, discouraged, or disgusted by the actions and inactions, the divisiveness and discriminations of the Democratic party, the press, the mainstream blogs, and many political leaders — you will feel at home here!

Read the Join us! page at the top of the site to learn more about our privacy policy. Then send an email to pumapac@gmail.com to be a part of a burgeoning group of democrats who are fed up and ready for action!

UPDATE, 6/6/08 at 12:38am: Welcome to all the new members and commenters. The response in the past two days has been phenomenal. If you have sent an email to join the Puma PAC today, don’t worry if you haven’t received a confirmation email reply yet. You are officially joined up — sending the email is all you need to do. We will be sending confirmations and email updates as soon as possible. Feel free to email or comment in threads with questions. I will reply.

Because of the troll infestation that swarms when I turn off moderation (geez, I wonder why the trolls are so desperate?), I am going to hold all comments for the next few hours so I can attend to some other matters (I mean get some sleep). If your comment doesn’t appear it has not been deleted or lost — it’s just being held. I’ll release them first thing in the morning.

Please visit the site often for updates and action alerts. Contribute if you can. Puma PAC is not simply a blog, it’s also a political action committee. The blog is our village square. Let’s get rolling!

I don’t understand the point of your site. Just vote for McCain………

It’s too late to do anything else………

#3 Dan Texas on 06.05.08 at 7:51 am

Don’t vote for McCain, that’s stupid and evil.

Just support Hillary and do what she asks. How hard is that?

#4 goandersen on 06.05.08 at 10:00 am

I’m with you. I am fed up with the DNC. I am now Independent.

#5 TXPuma on 06.05.08 at 1:42 pm

LIfelong Dem here leaving the party!! I am disgusted by the treatment she undeservedly received!!
I am sorry I cannot do what she asks and support BO nor can I vote for McCain. I will write her name in or stay home. I will riot in my own private way by controlling my vote.

FOllowing is post I put on Hillary’s website. My question to you is: are we looking to get theDNC back, or has it positioned itself such that we are ready to make a significant and realistic third party in our system that represents the beliefs we USED to have in the DNC:

I will be 38 years old in two days. I grew up in a democratic house. The first election I could vote in when I turned 18 was the Dukakis/Bush Sr. election. This, as a young college student in 1988 prime “yuppie years,” did not include me in the “popular” crowd. But I really believed in the democratic party – the party I felt that represented justice, fairness and equality for all. I supported them whole heartedly ever since. Until today, that is. I am changing my affiliation to Independent. I feel the democrat’s agenda and media agenda was too transparent this year. I don’t mind people not supporting who I support – but for the party as a whole to not stand up and scream when Anderson Cooper does an hour long segment on “HIllary Haters” with no similar story on Obama or McCain. When a story about HIllary is allowed about her emotional breakdown – which was anything but, is not questioned, and when the AP is able to print what clearly must be psychic energy from her camp as news – without as much as a peep from Howard Dean – Well, let’s just say “I’m over it!”

I know Hillary said she will throw her support behind Obama on Saturday, and I respect her decision to do what she feels she must. But I also respect her too much to condone the inequality represented in this election. I am sorry – but this is the first election – on the twentieth anniversary of my first vote cast, that i will not be at the polls!

Hillary – stay strong and move forward – I am behind you ! -Sarah

hi everyone, just came over from hill forum…..my heart was totally broken this morning when i read her letter…..i cried! i’m so angry at the dnc, this is the first time i’ve ever actively participated in an election and every thing i hoped for was blown away by this process…….i haven’t made the decision to vote for mccain or to not vote at all………but i do know that i will NEVER vote for BO, i can’t……even if hill was vp…..and it breaks my heart :( glad to be with other ppl who feel the same way :)

#9 prplvette85 on 06.05.08 at 2:56 pm

Hi all, I too am here from Team Hillary. I have also left the democratic party, after 35 years. I cannot tolerate another stolen election. I have not made the decision to vote McCain, as I truly believe that part of this was set up from the beginning with the repubs telling everyone to vote ob then switch back. ob is so stupid he fell right into the trap. I will NEVER vote for ob. His arrogance, his lies his ties to the crooks in Chicago…the way he forced his way into the senate by “legally” pushing out yet another woman…he will never win in November.
I will fight the DNC all the way. I will write the super dels up until the convention and then I will make a decision.
glad to be here with people who feel the same.
I am formally RobinP from Gary, In.

The importance of sites like this one is that we need to organize to defeat Barack Hussein Obama.

Anyone else who had the associates he has had would NOT be the nominee.

He carries so much anti-American baggage, any truly patriotic American would reject him outright.

Our national security could be put at risk if he is in the WH.

Whites will be marginalized and Michelle Obama will continue on her hateful, depressing and negative diatribes.

I do not want the Obamas descecrating the WH and principles that are dear to patriotic Americans.

It would be like installing Fidel Castro in that sacred house!

He can pretend to distance himself, change his issues over and over again, pretend he is pro-Israel after years of being anti-Israel, etc. but he doesn’t fool enough of us to vote for him!

McCain at the very least is a true patriot and he is moderate enough for me and most others if Hillary isn’t the nominee!

Go to his website and joing as a Hillary supporter for McCain. I think it is a Citizens for McCain category!

#11 suerw on 06.05.08 at 10:51 pm

I just came here from the hillaryclintonforum and have registered. I’ll be changing my registration by next week and will be supporting John McCain in the general election. Unless, of course, Hillary is the nominee.
Good to see a few others from the forum here.

#12 Marty1 on 06.06.08 at 12:05 am

I have just come from our original site and look forward to hearing everyone again.

#13 Marty1 on 06.06.08 at 12:08 am

Just remember Hillary is a member of an exclusive club that she has worked hard to infiltrate. She must keep her membership and tow the line for our future. BUT, that said, does not mean that we need to follow the Party line. Hillary will not be held responsible for what we “non” members do. I will vote for McCain because he is better than the alternative. Then we will have another day and time to “follow” HRC.

#14 Zee on 06.06.08 at 12:26 am

Thank you so much for organizing this, and beautiful job, I might add! There was another pro-Hillary site started in Boston, but it was unusable.

I will spread the word, for sure!!

And, yes, this is the way, folks. You have to make proactive changes for the future as well as take a stand against a despicable fraud who games the system and takes delegates he didn’t win!

#15 sychoram_in_MO on 06.06.08 at 3:38 am

Hello all.

I was never able to post on hillary’s site, but have been reading and agreeing with ya’ll for what seems like forever.
Hillary inspired me to donate to a candidate for the first time this ever. I know I never was able to give much, but I also know the every dime we all gave went to better our and Hillary’s future!

#16 Pm on 06.06.08 at 11:04 am

Murphy, I did the donation, but didn’t get a ‘confirm’ page after, did I do something wrong?

#17 murphy on 06.06.08 at 11:16 am

Hi Pm, thank you for contributing! Are you saying you didn’t receive a “confirm” page from Paypal , or from PumaPAC? When did you make the contribution?

It may take a few minutes for your contribution to process. I will monitor the account to look for it and will reply in an email to you.

If you have any questions, please email me at

thanks again.

This site has great potential. I hope to see an updated total on new members to help generate interest and getting the word out to help accellerate the rate of new registrations. I used your letter format and sent a letter to H Dean. Thank you.

#19 Go ShezaDoozy on 06.06.08 at 4:10 pm

Hi ALL,

I’m glad someone suggested to check my spam folder. Sure enough, I found my confirmation and password so I can post. I was unable to post on the Hillary site, but enjoyed reading from like minded folks.

It was so frustrating writing to CNN, CNBC, to no avail. The “so called news” channels have been ticking me off for the past year or so. I decided to just stop watching the constant Hillary Bashing. Most of the time I would just watch and scratch my head, or vent with friends and family on the phone in disbelief. No… I do not want to hear 3 weeks of guessing what is going to happen, hear a debate…and then hear another 3 weeks of what she should have said, didn’t say, really meant, and taking everything out of context. Everytime Hillary had a huge win it was covered up by some bs story to steal her limelight.. but if Obama burped, it was headline news for days. I just want to hear her speech, and come from my own experience without the spin.

I swear, I’d get more accurate news from SNL or Leno… at least they give you bottom line and tell you like it is;)

Anyhoo… it’s a pleasure to be able to voice my opinion and hear others feel the same without being tossed aside like the DNC and the media.

I’ve been a dem for the last 35 years, and for the first time in my life, I’m jumping the fence just like the backstabbing delegates did. Fed up with the DNC, and not watching the news.

After the final slap in the face on Tuesday, I’m just watching lifetime movies. Lou Dobbs is the only one left to watch on CNN. Boy, I sure miss the days of Hugh Downs, Walter Cronkite, when you leaned in and actually listened and respected real fare and balanced news coverage. How do they get away with this?

I’d like to watch the news on mute, only to see the sponsers, and write to them exactly why I will boycott their products if they chose to advertise on a biased station. The only way they’ll smarten up is hit them in their pocketbook, and watch ratings drop. I won’t give cnn any more hits on their websites either. Why let them make money on us, while they ignore our voice?

Sorry for rambling… I’m just thrilled to find a place to vent.

Sheza Doozy:)

#20 gina613 on 06.06.08 at 4:19 pm

It was reported that Oprah did a “happy dance” all night long when BO was selected to be the nominee. Can everyone write letters and continue to boycott her show. Her ratings are already down 11%. They try to say it is unrelated to her BO support. Let’s make sure they know that it is exactly the reason.

#21 Goalucard4Hill on 06.06.08 at 4:37 pm

Robin from Gary – SO SO HAPPY to see you here as well – I was so proud of you especially during the Indiana and North Carolina primaries -you were a really trouper – welcome to the new site here – I just joined yesterday and boy am I getting a lot of information that sure did not post on our HRC site -

#22 Goalucard4Hill on 06.06.08 at 4:41 pm

Goandersen – you are here too – lets get the rest of our group here – I want Northerngirl and Lucy and Okie4Hillary here with us – we have to work on them.

This is beginning to feel like home again. Bless you all.

#23 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 5:04 pm

All of you “go” folks – your posts on HRC gave me a lot of comfort the other night. I couldn’t get on to post, but I read them all and have been loving this site. I went back to HRC and saw others who would probably like to find this site, but since I can’t seem to get my posts on there, wasn’t able to mention it. Maybe one of you could go back and give them the heads up. Have you checked out the thread on “where we’re at” – one post includes a link to a lobbydelegates site that allows you to send messages to superdelegates. I’m sending one to mine in FLA about the splitting headache I have from being cut in half.

#24 Newcatontheblock on 06.06.08 at 5:13 pm

Don’t know whether its true or not but I heard if you have cable tv the cable provider automatically gathers information on what you are watching. Supposedly viewership relates to the amount the networks are paid for their programs. If this is true CNN and MSNBC are already losing revenue by your not viewing these networks for more than a minute or two. And your making Mr. O’Reilly a very happy man.

#25 Goalucard4Hill on 06.06.08 at 5:14 pm

Thank you Dragonfly – in the process of getting them all over here together – no idea how much longer HRC site will be up and there have been only two threads going that takes life to get anything posted – this is much faster and a great moderator that is part of us.

This is what we have needed for a long time.

Welcome aboard.

#26 Dragonfly on 06.06.08 at 5:15 pm

Murphy, I contributed! Thank you for doing this! I am glad there is a place where I can get real news and communicate with others.

#27 Susie1945 on 06.06.08 at 6:42 pm

OMG I just tuned in to ABC Evening News – forgot that I don’t watch any of that shit anymore – they showed a clip of Obama in Chicago yapping about winding up his second term in 2016 – talk about overconfidence – he hasn’t even gotten the first term yet and if I have anyway possible to do anything about it, he will not. They are also talking about Hillary urging all of her supporters to jump on *61’s bandwagon tomorrow – sorry no can do.

#28 gina613 on 06.06.08 at 6:45 pm

Is anyone going to hear Hillary on Saturday? If BO shows up for his endorsement. Please everyone leave the building.

#29 bruce555 on 06.06.08 at 11:05 pm

It’s Hillary for President, not VP!

If the primaries were to be held “after” all the news broke out about the reverends and “guns and religion”, etc. etc., Hillary would have had much more than the 18 million votes.

#30 Changes4me on 06.07.08 at 2:00 am

Hi, Everyone! I was glad to find this site and express my feelings also on Hillary’s lost to Obama. I have also been a Dem supporter for 17 Yrs. and now for the first time am considering switching to Independent. I always felt that EXPERIENCE was important, especially when your running for a seat in the White House!! What the hell happened!! I don’t understand it. The next President will be faced with the Iraq war and Afganistan. Our POOR economy. The weak Dollar!! Not to mention our hatred from other countries. And the real posibility that we might go into Iran soon ( heard on CNN today). Also the housing market, the gas prices. Uhhhhh!!! My point is that this is no time to send in a ROOKIE!!
Thank’s for letting me vent!
I love Hillary and got to shake her hand at a rally here in PA. I had high hopes for her.
Always a hill supporter!!

#31 nomorednc on 06.07.08 at 1:50 pm

Hillary is and always a class act. But sorry cannot agree with giving our support to OB. He did not earn it. Hillary did. If he gets the nominee (God forbid) we will vote for the green party or just skip over presidential selection.
To vote for OB is to agree with his politics which are undemocratic and immoral…

#32 gokimfrommichigan on 06.07.08 at 2:00 pm

if we sit home or vote for a third party we will help NOBAMA win the election~

that is a NO WAY for me~

For the first time in 26 years I WILL vote repub. to ensure HILLARY will be able to run in 2012

the congress is dem majority so they will be able to limit anything Mccain tries to do~

#33 dazey on 06.07.08 at 2:57 pm

How can anyone think that McCain is scarier than Obama. I have never seen a candidate as scary as he is. But you don’t have to vote for MCain — you can stay home or go Nader — Anybody but Obama.

#34 HillarywasROBBED on 06.07.08 at 3:10 pm

CAN all of you believe that after all these months of DEBATE and all the Obama Sheep saying Obama is so vastly different and such a better choce than Hillary that NOW they want to say HEY Hillary Supporters: VOTE for OUR WINNER OBUMMER, because him and Hillary are the SAME! THE NERVE! THE GALL! So many times these same people had nothing on Hillary, No Ayers, no Soros, No Farrahkan, No Wright, No racist comments, no wife unhappy with America, no clinging religious people and gun owners. All they said about Hillary was related to Bill and the Monica scandal, which they used over and over and over! AND NOW they want to claim similarities? NO….SORRY…Obama is a SACK! HE is the most LEFTIST, immoral, unAmerican, racist, arrogant, plagerizing, creep ever in history to run for President. He will NOT get our vote, and everyone be aware anyone saying McCain this and McCain that is an Obamabot! DONT be fooled! EVERYONE knows OBAMA is WAY more damage than McCain he is talking about his Presidency in 2016 already! WE have got to STOP Obama and his arrogance in his tracks!!!!!

#35 candy o on 06.07.08 at 9:17 pm

well, it’s good to see that there are a lot of angry hillary supporters out there who will not support obama. great. i really relish the day the the demo leadership will have to think about what happened during this election.

#37 Mary Gallegos on 06.07.08 at 9:53 pm

Hello everyone, I just joined the PUMAs. I am mad as hell and I will not take it anymore. Obama’s party is not my party. The PUMA’s should boycott the Denver Convention. Let’s all go to Denver, show up in force, and tell the DNC that Obama does not have our vote.

#38 RyanMan on 06.07.08 at 9:53 pm

To all the ObamaBots who try to bully people on this site: Take your hypocritical, offensive rants elsewhere. We are not beholden to you or anyone else. Many of us feel that the Democratic Party has been hijacked. I can no longer support a Party that disenfranchised so many voters. The Party I supported used to stand against these types of practices. No longer. Further, in an effort to please one small faction of the Party for selfish, power hungry motives, they have twisted the rules and anointed a nominee that cannot possibly win in November.

All in some perverse effort to ‘make history’.

We will be heard and we will not be taken for granted.

Just watch…

Let’s have some logo shirts/caps made to help spread the word. Also, let’s take note of who the corporate advertisers sponcering that media circus were . . . the way to “get their attention” is to boycott their products.
I want to ensure that when and if we have another qualified female candidate, she never has to endure the prejudice and sexism that plagued Clinton.

ohhh I’m getting dizzy…I posted a few hours ago and can’t find the post. I’m lost.
Then tried again and it disappeared..here goes.
I joined when a fellow blogger on Greta Van Sustern’s blog sent the site out. Since then I’ve post Puma’s site on her blog so as to get the enrollment up in here.
It feels good to know I will finally be able to ACTUALLY help.
The thing is to find my post to see if any responses,
I am a victim of the system. I am a Florida voter who has been cheated both in 2000 and 2008.
Hillary won period.
If we can’t somehow change this election I will vote for McCain. Obama’s closet is full of dirty laundry and I don’t want to wash it.
I have written the DNC, Delegates, Supers and the uncommitted, media, newscasters and Howard Dean many times. Hannity@foxnews.com seems to be unafraid to try to get the word out…to me the media is cowardly or being threatened as Bill O’Reilly came out publically and announced he was…seemingly after saying he was going after George Soros.
So what’s happening to the media? Seems the people are loosing their voices.
Throughout our history many movements have worked and grown and made changes. Some took time but they worked. Women’s right to vote, the Civil Rights Movement, N.O.W… Many more…
I’m here to help…
